AbstractTraditional handicraft sector become a new mechanism for sustainable development, employment opportunities, and economic growth in rural areas of China. To find out current issues and trends of Chinese traditional handicraft product development, a systematic study is required to analyze the state-of-art of topic under investigation. Secondary data through literature review is used to obtain data in Scopus database from 2002 to 2022 by using the Citespace visualization software. Bibliometric analysis focus on annual number of articles, journals, authors’ cooperation, issuing institutions and keywords to explore an information. The results indicated that the Chinese traditional handicraft product has been highlighted as most significant topic discussing by scholars and researchers since few years ago. Specific topic of study divided into three stages: slow start, fluctuating growth and rapid development. The specific topic rise on issue such as sustainability, innovation, employment, and perceptions. Furthermore, the research directions can be acknowledged in theoretical concepts and methodological model. Based on these findings, this study further discusses the potential impact on the management level.

China's distinctive educational approach, particularly its emphasis on ideological and political education, has garnered considerable academic attention for its impact on shaping individual values, fostering citizenship, and maintaining social stability. Despite the Chinese government's prioritization of ideological and political education, academic research in this field appears constrained, with existing studies predominantly focusing on normative and descriptive aspects. Normative research delineates how ideological and political education should be executed, while descriptive research illustrates its practical implementation. The effectiveness of these approaches is significantly diminished if they are not adequately interconnected—when only the current reality is explained without providing tools for improvement or when prescribed steps for improvement lack a basis in specific contexts. This paper conducts a comprehensive review of research on ideological and political education using ATLAS. ti 9 for thematic analysis. The review aims to unveil the intricate landscape of current research in China and address key questions: What are the primary trends in the literature on ideological and political education between 2021 and July 2023? What challenges does ideological and political education face? Through a direct exploration of these issues, this paper seeks to optimize the ideological and political education system, elevate its adaptability and effectiveness, and open avenues for research, fostering a more dynamic, inclusive, and resilient development of ideological and political education.

The aim of this research was to analyze academic anxiety studies in the literature using the thematic review method and to determine the current trend in this field. In the research, a meta-synthesis study was carried out including 61 studies, 3 of which were theses and 58 were articles, published between 1981-2021. The studies used in the research were accessed in Dissertations and Theses Global-Proquest, Eric-EBSCOhost, MEDLINE, Science Direct, Scopus, SpringerLink, Taylor and Francis Online, Wiley, ULAKBIM, YÖK Thesis Center and Google Scholar databases. Published articles or theses about determining the nature of academic anxiety in the literature were included in the study. In the examined studies, the relationship of academic anxiety with more than one variable was investigated and it was determined that most studies focused on examining the differences based on demographic variables. The survey model was the most frequently chosen research method, and qualitative research methods were not sufficiently used. The studies examined were carried out mostly by using the questionnaire method in high school level age groups and sample groups of 101-300 people. Therefore, in order to carry out new studies with larger working groups, to examine the academic anxiety of students at higher education level and to carry out reviews, scale development or adaptation studies for higher education students are needed. In addition, there was a limited number of experimental studies conducted about reducing student academic anxiety. Survey and relational based quantitative research needs to be supported by experimental methods.

Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) has evolved since its inception and has contributed mainly to multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) to solve complex problems. It is a widespread technique that uses group decision-making approach to solve problems in business operations, mathematics, and numerous other scientific fields. While its applications are numerous, a handful of researchers have studied the growth trajectory of AHP. Whilst these seminal works have discussed the evolution of AHP in different contexts and using contemporary techniques, we complement them by presenting and reflecting on the unchartered and pressing need of charting the managerial and theoretical evolution of AHP, over the last decade. We do this through a systematic and thematic review of the extant literature. This study uses the Scopus database to extract papers published between 2012 and 2021 in decision science with an overlap with operations research and information systems. The study follows Tranfield et al. (2003)'s guidelines to understand the past trends of AHP along three key dimensions and offers future directions. Digital assessment has become relevant as part of the digital learning process, as technology provides not only teaching and learning but also assessment, including productive feedback. With the rapid development of educational technology and the expansion of related research, there is a lack of research-based clarification of aspects of digital assessment without considering the impact of temporary pandemic solutions. The purpose of this thematic review is to summarize key features in studies over a specified period of time (2018–2021); consequently, it does not offer completely new knowledge, but captures essential knowledge of the last few years before the pandemic to avoid losing a significant aspect of digital assessment due to temporary pandemic solutions. The review results in a description of digital assessment that includes its conditions, opportunities and challenges, as well as other characteristics. The findings confirm the importance of digital assessment in the modern educational process and will increase the understanding of digital assessment among those involved in education (administrators, educators and researchers), inviting them to consider possible pedagogical principles. The term ‘adaptation’ is commonplace in conservation research and practice, but often without a reflection on the assumptions, expectations, or frames of reference used to define goals and actions. Communities of practice (e.g. conservation researchers, protected areas managers) have different interpretations of climate change impacts on biodiversity and different ways of defining, operationalizing and implementing adaptation. Their cognitive and motivational expectations for the future are associated with different paths to reach such desired futures. To understand how adaptation is framed in conservation, we undertook a systematic review with a thematic synthesis of the definitions of the term as used in the academic conservation literature. From a sample of 150 articles, only 36 provided a definition of adaptation. We critically appraised the explicit definitions to identify emergent themes that represent particular adaptation approaches. Themes were then grouped, and each group was assigned to a scholarly tradition, onto-epistemological approach and theoretical perspective. Based on theoretical perspectives on social change, we propose a framework (including individual cognitive basis, social interactions, and openness to alternatives) to analyse how change is framed in the definitions and how the framings influence adaptation options. The grouped themes represent passive, active, or indirect adaptation approaches. We used these themes to generate a conceptual model to guide conservation researchers and practitioners engaged in climate adaptation research, policy and management to aid reflection and understanding of the options available to design adaptation agendas and allow negotiation of diverse interests, views and expectations about the future.

The usage and values of cannabis, or cannabis for medicinal purposes, have been historically recognised since ancient times. Evidence from clinical research demonstrated the therapeutic advantages of cannabis in an extensively wide area of medicinal aspects. Resultantly, many nations have decided to legalise the medicinal use of cannabis. Despite the international recognition of medical cannabis, Malaysia maintains the status quo of cannabis prohibition as a highly addictive drug with no medicinal value. The Malaysian government argues that the harmful effects of medical cannabis legalisation outweigh the benefits. No review paper has discussed the current research patterns on the impact of medical cannabis legalisation, while thematic review studies on this issue are limited. Therefore, this article synthesised literature from 2017 to 2021 to identify research patterns and recent academic discussions on the impact of medical cannabis legalisation. A keyword search and screening process utilising Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases inclusion criteria yielded 718 peer-reviewed academic journal articles. Nonetheless, only 72 articles were selected for final evaluation following the exclusion and inclusion process. The thematic review of the 72 publications identified 19 preliminary codes on the impact of medical cannabis legalisation. The ATLAS.ti 9 software was utilised to conduct the theme analysis review of the selected articles. The quantitative results presented the research patterns of the impact of medical cannabis legalisation. Additionally, the qualitative analysis generated five main themes developed in the literature on the impact of medical cannabis legalisation, namely (1) impact on health, (2) impact on policy, (3) impact on society, (4) impact on health system, and (5) impact on criminal activities. The findings will benefit future studies on implementing medical cannabis law (MCL) in Malaysia. Unfortunately, this study is limited to Scopus and WoS databases, and the impact of recreational cannabis legalisation is not included. This study aims to review the ethnoscience studies in science education in Indonesia thematically. From 2010 to 2020, the databases contained 71 relevant articles of ethnoscience studies. These studies belonged to the content analysis theme parameters of method/design, sample, data collection, data analysis, topic, result, recommendation, and location. The results indicated that most of the ethnoscience studies explored the effect of integrating ethnoscience with the lessons to investigate students’ achievement and attitudes towards science. Correspondingly, the investigated studies mostly used Research and Development (R D) and experimental research design. The preferred data collecting techniques were tests (multiple-choice/description), questionnaires, and observation. Moreover, seventh and eighth graders of junior high school commonly employed the argumentation activities in physics, chemistry, biology, and basic concept of science topics. This study suggests the teachers employ different methods (e.g., ethnoscience) to improve concept understanding, problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and motivation in learning science from the primary school level. Furthermore, resources from cultural activities in Indonesia are beneficial for integrating ethnoscience in learning.

Under the Malaysian Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) 2016–2020, IBS has been proposed as one of the alternative solutions for replacing conventional construction. Numerous IBS advantages have been documented and discovered since its first implementation in the 90s’. However, the literature still has inadequate studies that deliberate on IBS issues. Hence, this paper adopts a thematic review based on the issues captured in publications pertaining to IBS from 2016 to 2021. The strategy of this article involved an investigation via an extensive review paper on IBS and analysis using thematic review. The findings from the code-to-document report in ATLAS.ti 8 revealed several issues in IBS based on the pattern highlighted in the literature. The outcomes are expected to benefit the direction of future research and to identify the gap for future solutions in IBS-related projects in Malaysia.

As cultural tourism expands, globalisation and localisation have become contradictory terms. Souvenirs are fast becoming crucial for promoting cultural tourism while maintaining a pivotal role in enhancing a country’s image. Design is essential for souvenir production and the primary method by which souvenirs create value. Despite the growing number of publications on souvenirs, few reviews examine the development and strategies of souvenir design and its future directions. Therefore, this study’s specific aim is to report on the outcomes of a thematic review analysis examining souvenir research from a design perspective, addressing the knowledge and methods required in practice-based souvenir design. Data for this study were collected using a thematic review analysis of 51 publications from 2012 to 2022, and the ATLAS.ti 8 code-to-document review findings indicate the patterns needed by researchers. The analysis shows five central themes: 1) culture-oriented design; 2) customer-oriented product design; 3) design method; 4) regional development; and 5) sustainability. The results suggest that future research trends in souvenir design should focus on locality-based development strategies and sustainability for promoting local culture and economies. This work will generate fresh insight into new guidelines for research trends in souvenir design.

Forest certification was introduced in the late 1980s as a countermeasure to address the deforestation and forest degradation issues which caused major concern among environmental activists. Forest certification was promoted as a voluntary tool to ensure that only timber and timber products from sustainably managed forests were marketed. Although much literature has been published on forest certification since its introduction, not many review papers are available that discuss various contexts of forest certification studies. This review was motivated by the stand that the forest certification system must be strengthened to enhance its contribution to sustainable forest management. Therefore, this review aims to synthesise the discussions on sustainable forest certification published in academic literature from 2017 to July 2021 and to identify potential future areas of study. The paper explores the forest certification debate through an extensive literature review by adopting a thematic review approach. The ATLAS.ti 8 tool was used to facilitate the thematic analysis of forest certification literature dating from 2017 to 2021. A thematic review of 70 articles identified 135 initial codes describing the context of forest certification studies. These were grouped into three main clusters: enabling conditions, execution and evaluation. The review revealed that most studies were conducted to investigate issues relating to the implementation and impact of forest certification, while a limited number of studies were conducted on the enabling conditions of effective forest certification implementation. The review contributes to the existing findings on current forest certification literature and can be used as a guideline to identify future areas of forest certification studies. It is proposed that future research should examine how to design effective forest certification planning and management to maximise its potential contribution to sustainable forest management.

Digital Storytelling (DST) is defined as telling stories using digital means. It has been initially applied for diverse purposes, including in community development, therapeutic benefits, and as an aid in teaching and learning. DST has recently been broadly used on social media platforms for marketing, running campaigns, journalism, and much more. However, no comprehensive systematic or thematic review of DST in social media has been conducted. Accordingly, this paper aims to provide a thematic review of DST in social media. The thematic review was carried out on 50 articles published from 2016 to 2021. These 50 discrete studies were selected because they met the inclusion criteria based on the research question of this review. The thematic review used ATLAS.ti as a tool to assist the review process. The results indicated that DST in social media was appropriate for marketing, including branding and advertising. Besides, using DST in social media over the years for education, training, professional development, community development and services, running campaigns, and therapy has significantly impacted these areas. With the development of teachers' psychological cognition, the moral education curriculum develops as per the changes in times. Currently, a resurgence of interest on studying teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum has observed. This is because moral education curriculum of each country plays a unique role in the overall design of the country's education curriculum. However, studies on teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum are scarce, and no framework has been developed to guide the teaching and learning of teachers for the moral education curriculum for schools. The moral education curriculum serves as one of the main vehicles for value education, with teachers as direct executors. It can influence the overall development of the school system and long-term development of a country. Thus, in this paper, we reviewed current literature related to teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum and developed future trends considering teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum in improving existing moral education programs in a country. We identified a list of keywords related to moral education curriculum and teacher perceptions and relevant to the scope of this study. These keywords were used to search the articles from the Scopus and WoS studies. Overall, 32 papers meeting the search criteria were retrieved. Further, we conducted thematic studies, and four themes were successfully identified: the model of teacher perceptions of moral and national education, the dimensions of the teacher ethics model (framework), teaching strategies, and the role of teachers. The results of this study suggested a new framework for research trends in teachers' perception models, particularly toward the moral education curriculum. This study contributed to the knowledge regarding teaching and learning approaches of moral education considering teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum. Online-to-offline (O2O) commerce is a popular business model which links offline business activities with online channels. Consumer behavior in O2O commerce is more complex than in other traditional business models as both online and offline channels are involved. Despite the growing number of publications focused on this issue, no review paper has discussed the current research trends and factors influencing consumer behavior in O2O commerce. Therefore, this review aimed to synthesize literature on O2O commerce from 2015 to April 2022, focusing on consumer behavior. A set of inclusion and exclusion criteria was developed for searching and screening articles from two dominant databases (i.e., WOS and Scopus), and 53 eligible articles were included in this review. A thematic review approach using ATLAS.ti 9 software was conducted. Quantitative results presented the research trends of O2O commerce. Qualitative analyses generated eight main clusters of factors which influence consumers' O2O behavior: (1) service and product quality, (2) technical and utilitarian factors, (3) emotional and hedonic factors, (4) trust and risk, (5) price and cost (6), social factors, (7) online content, and (8) habit. The article contains an overview of the reports of the XVII International Symposium of the International Dostoevsky Society (July 14-19, 2019, Boston). The scientific forum was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the first publication of the novel The Idiot. The review shows the main thematic trends of contemporary studies on Dostoevsky. First, the reports continue the dispute about the specifics of the central character of the novel and still sharply divide the sympathizers of the “critical” and “apologetic” view of Prince Myshkin. Another matter of interest is the study of translation problems, cross-cultural interpretation of the novel, dynamics of perception of the novel in the 20th century and its influence on modern literature, interdisciplinary reports analyzing the novel from the standpoint of other humanities. A significant part of the reports has traditionally been devoted to the problems of novel poetics, and it seems that among American researchers there is a tendency to rethink the methodological tradition of Bakhtin. Relatively fewer speeches contained interesting results of studies about the philosophical context of The Idiot and other Dostoevsky’s texts. The article also emphasizes the high significance of historical and biographical reports, which shed light on unknown circumstances of the real context of the novel. The article especially highlights a number of methodologically innovative reports that actually open up new directions in Dostoevsky’s research. Following the opinions of the most prominent domestic and foreign scholars, the author states the high scientific level of the symposium, emphasizing the exceptional value of such a scientific dialogue. At the same time, the article concludes that there are not enough close links between domestic and English-speaking (primarily American) studies of Dostoevsky. Researchers from different countries often do not know the works of their colleagues, even when they have common research objects. From this point of view, monothematic scientific meetings, such as the Boston Symposium 2019, can be extremely useful.

The use of tablet in schools has been getting importance in a parallel with any change in educational policies. It can be said that the use of tablets was investigated on the variables such as success and attitude in the literature and the number of studies increased related to the applications that can be used in tablets. In this context, it was considered that analyzing the studies conducted in the field of science education, which was one of the courses where tablet use was recommended, will be important for both teacher - prospective teacher candidates who were practitioner and literature. The aim of this study was to thematically examine and analyze tablet-based science education studies. 25 articles were exposed to this thematic review via the matrix developed by Ormanci et al. (2015). The matrix consists of two parts-general properties (type of journals, years, etc.) and content (rationales, aims, research methods, etc.). The results indicated rationales of related studies were very limited. Further, there were experimental studies examining the effects of tablet-based science education on student success and performance. None of previous studies examined the effects of tablet-based science education on the participants‟ skills, which should be investigated in future studies.

Understanding why people use social media provides an insight into the nature of behaviours in social networking where sharing images or photos and like other users' posts are some preferred social media user's behaviours. Theory of Uses and Gratifications posits that the audience actively chooses a type of media that suits their needs. Motivations are explained by the questions of why users use social media and what gratifications they derive from their use, and whether they prefer to use images rather than texts or even videos. Prior studies found that there are distinctly different gratifications resulting from the use of images in social media. This research paper hereby explores a thematic review of the top journals regarding the motives of image use in social media from the year 2017 to 2020. The strategy of the research was to investigate through a comprehensive number of review articles on the images used in social media and the result was then analysed. From the literature, the findings of the code-to-document report have highlighted several research patterns or themes in the motives of image use in social media. Nickel-titanium (NiTi) file separation during endodontic treatment is an undesirable event. This phenomenon needs to be understood by knowing the factors influencing fracture in endodontic files. There is a large amount of literature where these factors and their influence have been studied, increasing the knowledge about the mechanisms involved, mainly related to wire technology, file shapes and geometry, operator manipulation, the anatomy of the root canal, and the irrigation and sterilization processes. As many factors are involved, the complexity of the fracture phenomena increases and the isolated correlation of one factor with the file fracture becomes a small part of comprehending the separation phenomena. This thematic review aims to compile important reports from 2014 to 2022 on the factors influencing NiTi file separation. The information obtained was classified into wire technology, file geometry, operational aspects, irrigation and sterilization, and anatomy. For this purpose, the Scopus, Web of Science and ScienceDirect databases were consulted using a search string. Filters were applied to consolidate the final set of relevant papers covering the subject of factors influencing endodontic file separation. It was found that the fracture of NiTi files incorporates different mechanisms that operate simultaneously during the endodontic procedure and strongly affect the instrument performance. The collected information promotes good practices to prevent file separation.

A bunch of studies have been published in various form of books and papers on Hafiz, and his thoughts, status and art in the field of Persian literature. Due to the large amount and the continuous process of such studies, and to recognize their strengths and weaknesses, it is necessary for them to be reviewed to address the lacks and shortages in this field. This study examines the historical process of Hafiz studies and their subjects. Since the beginning of the process of Hafiz studies (1919) up to 2010 about 2068 studies have been done. This study reviews the historical trend of Hafiz studies in the form of papers, and checks the reasons of the ups and downs in their quantity and quality. The studies are categorized under five historical periods and eight subjects of description of verses, critical review of books and studies about Hafiz, introduction of various Divan corrections, introduction of new versions, character analysis, Hafiz’s life and thoughts, Hafiz and the others, aesthetics, and other studies. The results show the rising process of production of studies since the beginning up to the third historical period due to the holding of two Hafiz’s memorial conferences. In the fourth period, this process quantitatively falls down but qualitatively rises till the fifth period when both quantity and quality of the papers escalate due to the introduction of new literary topics and the advance of criticisms.

Purpose – The aim of this study is to examine research conducted on entrepreneurship education in teacher education. Methodology – A thematic analysis was used in this study that outlines the similarities and differences in the studies conducted on entrepreneurship education in teacher education. Findings – The purpose of the studies in question was mostly to discuss curriculum, teacher training, economy and unemployment, entrepreneurial characteristics and the importance of teachers. The studies mostly aimed to examine the attitudes, perceptions and views of students, teachers or other educators regarding entrepreneurship education. There were a lot of study results highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship in teacher training. The biggest emphasis was laid upon methods, techniques, models or strategies used in entrepreneurship education. The recommendations put forward in the studies reviewed mostly concerned a basic level of education. Many of these studies stated that in-service training should be given to teachers at the basic education level with regard to entrepreneurship education. Significance – This study contributes to the literature in three different ways. Firstly, by presenting the current status of the studies on entrepreneurship education as a contemporary subject in teacher education. Secondly, it sheds light on the studies that will be conducted in the future as to how to approach the subject of entrepreneurship education in teacher education. Thirdly, by investigating studies that draw attention to entrepreneurship education in teacher education, it provides a better understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship education.

The food delivery service is the most typical and visible example of online-to-offline (O2O) commerce. More consumers are using food delivery services for various reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic, making this business model viral worldwide. In the post-pandemic era, offering food delivery services will become the new normal for restaurants. Although a growing number of publications have focused on consumer behavior in this issue, no review paper has addressed current research and industry trends. Thus, this paper aims to review the literature published from 2020 to the present (October 2022) on consumers' use of food delivery services during the pandemic. A thematic review was conducted, with 40 articles searched from Scopus and Web of Science being included. Quantitative findings showed current research trends, and thematic analyses formed eight themes of factors influencing consumer behavior: (1) technical and utilitarian factors, (2) system-related attributes, (3) emotional and hedonic factors, (4) individual characteristics, (5) service quality, (6) risk-related factors, (7) social factors, and (8) food-related attributes. The paper also emphasizes COVID-19-related influences and suggests promising future research directions. The results offer insights into industry practices and starting points for future research.

With the development of teachers' psychological cognition, the moral education curriculum develops as per the changes in times. Currently, a resurgence of interest on studying teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum has observed. This is because moral education curriculum of each country plays a unique role in the overall design of the country's education curriculum. However, studies on teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum are scarce, and no framework has been developed to guide the teaching and learning of teachers for the moral education curriculum for schools. The moral education curriculum serves as one of the main vehicles for value education, with teachers as direct executors. It can influence the overall development of the school system and long-term development of a country. Thus, in this paper, we reviewed current literature related to teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum and developed future trends considering teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum in improving existing moral education programs in a country. We identified a list of keywords related to moral education curriculum and teacher perceptions and relevant to the scope of this study. These keywords were used to search the articles from the Scopus and WoS studies. Overall, 32 papers meeting the search criteria were retrieved. Further, we conducted thematic studies, and four themes were successfully identified: the model of teacher perceptions of moral and national education, the dimensions of the teacher ethics model (framework), teaching strategies, and the role of teachers. The results of this study suggested a new framework for research trends in teachers' perception models, particularly toward the moral education curriculum. This study contributed to the knowledge regarding teaching and learning approaches of moral education considering teachers' perceptions of the moral education curriculum. Context-based chemistry education aims at making connections between real life and the scientific content of chemistry courses. The purpose of this study was to evaluate context-based chemistry studies. In looking for the context-based chemistry studies, the authors entered the keywords 'context-based', 'contextual learning' and 'chemistry education' in well-known databases (i.e. Academic Search Complete, Education Research Complete, ERIC, Springer LINK Contemporary). Further, in case the computer search by key words may have missed a rather substantial part of the important literature in the area, the authors also conducted a hand search of the related journals. To present a detailed thematic review of context-based chemistry studies, a matrix was used to summarize the findings by focusing on insights derived from the related studies. The matrix incorporates the following themes: needs, aims, methodologies, general knowledge claims, and implications for teaching and learning, implications for curriculum development and suggestions for future research. The general knowledge claims investigated in this paper were: (a) positive effects of the context-based chemistry studies; (b) caveats, both are examined in terms of students' attitudes and students' understanding/cognition. Implications were investigated for practice in context- based chemistry studies, for future research in context- based chemistry studies, and for curriculum developers in context- based chemistry studies. Teachers of context-based courses claimed that the application of the context-based learning approach in chemistry education improved students' motivation and interest in the subject. This seems to have generated an increase in the number of the students who wish to continue chemistry education at higher levels. However, despite the fact that the majority of the studies have reported advantages of context-based chemistry studies, some of them have also referred to pitfalls, i.e. dominant structure of out-of-school learning, tough nature of some chemistry topics, and teacher anxiety of lower-ability students.
