The article addresses methodological issues in diaconia research by picking up some fundamental insights from phenomenology, especially the traditions from Sara Ahmed and Bernhard Waldenfels. By presenting recent diaconia research the author claims that the phenomenological conception of the human as always a humanbeing- in-the-world should be taken as a basic human conception also in diaconia research. Phenomenology analyzes human beings as related philosophically, not theologically. However, presenting different kinds of human relations as a basic part of what diaconia is about, diaconia research will be able to discuss what the author calls a concept of a generous Christianity.

In this essay, we elucidate the insufficiency of a simple binary choice between substantialism and relationalism or between dualist and nondual/incarnational sensibilities. We highlight the ways that all translations of these sensibilities into the scholarly form of life encounter characteristic problems and challenges precisely because the very practice of scholarly writing is always and already inclined towards a more dualist way of going on. Since the implementation of preventive and compulsory social isolation, every night at 9:00 p.m. thousands of Argentines applaud the health system personnel from their patios, balconies and windows in support of their daily tasks. The purpose of this article is to present a critical analysis of the applause that the Argentine population offers as an emotional support for workers in the health sector in times of Covid-19. To achieve this objective, the following argumentative strategy is followed: a) the relationship between heroes and spectators in a spectacularized society is described; b) second, a series of videos of different cities with structural diversity (social class, scale) from the virtual ethnography will be analysed; c) third, applause as an emotion is analysed according to the contexts of its production from the perspective of the sociology of bodies/emotions. Finally, the paper concludes with some questions about the relationship between public health and sensibilities in the post-Covid-19 era.

In China, one cannot sleep a wink at night. This complaint runs throughout the nineteenth century, through travelers’ stories and settlements’ newspapers, doctors strive to find its anthropological roots in the lesser sensitivity of Chinese people to noise, and it motivates, finally, various projects to ban noise pollution and exclude the Chinese inhabitants of foreign settlements. The reason lies in the fear of Chinese climate effects, the desire to base the inferiority of the Chinese on racial differences, and plans to westernize China.

The fourth movement explores the temporal relationship between arrangements and re-arrangements, addressing the question of how an obdurate and 'sticky' temporal order may give way to palpable re-arrangement of the ways in which subjects experience time. Eschewing a concern with linear homogenous time, it addresses the processes of re-arrangement by understanding the dynamics of grave events, hauntings of the past, subtly changing rhythms of everyday life, and the force of potential futures in synchrony.

- Abstract
The third movement explores how (re)arrangements are made and re-worked as people navigate fractured, ever-shifting landscapes of urban opportunity, conflict and uncertainty. Drawing on fieldwork in Paris, Mogadishu and Abidjan, we point to the fragile, collective and anticipatory knowledges accumulated during navigations, and to how these knowledges become contained within and (re)constitute embodied archives.

- Subjects

This contribution aims to highlight the trajectories and effects of a possible intersection between the history of politics and material culture. Based on a series of recent studies, it aims to define a field of investigation that is still little explored and to identify a number of research perspectives that seem likely to see interesting developments. It shows how, even on the political front, 'things' seem to be more integrated into experiences and sensibilities than historiography has hitherto imagined. At the heart of the reflection is the idea that objects can be interrogated both as forms of language, capable of communicating a more or less explicit political message, and as practical devices incorporating programmes of action. The centrality of uses and the performative dimension of political objects, their mobility and their variable itineraries are some of the elements that seem most worthy of attention today.

MARRIAGE , *COLONIAL administration , *PUBLIC administration , *MILITARY government of dependencies , *REPUBLICANS - Abstract
This article is focus on the province of Venezuela from three different outlooks in a crucial moment for the configuration of the bourbon colonial system during the late eighteenth century and the previous conditions to the final rupture with the metropolis. Those are the side views from the sensibilities and the political culture of the creole elite, which in Venezuela is called mantuana, is the look of power. As well the look of the bishop Mariano Martí who makes a long and detailed pastoral visit, and presents a socio-ethnic description of the province, where it highlights its subtle view to see the problems associate with the poverty, vices and illegal interracial marriages, as well as the discontentment and fears from all sectors and castes. The perspective of the power from the outlook of the colonial administration is conferred by Francisco de Saavedra, the second intendant of Caracas. A brilliant Spanish official, enlightened, with a long work sheet filled of experiences. In it he emphasizes his enlightened vision and liberal principles regarding the trade and progress of the creoles as a source of wealth for the crown. Last, the noted Prussian scientist Alexander Humboldt who brings its perceptions about the dissimilar levels of interest of mantuanos for science and politics. It also brings suggestive data on the rising resentment of the creoles against the colonial establishment. These three outlooks occur at a crucial time, because it is the moment when the province of Venezuela is seen by the metropolis, like an strategic location of untapped potentials and poorly understood potentialities. In the end, we present the results of the superposition of these "lenses", of that look of the late colony, in the unleashing of the extreme Venezuelan violence of the century of independence and the [de]configuration of the new nation: republican and independent but with the social problems that Martí, Saavedra and Humboldt predicted. - Abstract
The ways in which conflictivity sets how people dwell in contexts of extreme deprivation is an issue that exerts tension on the diverse manners in which bodies and emotions are engaged in various levels of social pain. The many ways and contents that suffering assumes in its connections with urban poverty, also crosses with "interstitial practices" that challenge resignation and impotence as logics of accepting and making the world visible. From a sociology of bodies/emotions, this article aims at discussing suffering as an emotion, and conflict as a practice and condition for social reproduction, taking as an empirical reference in-depth interviews given through 2015 and 2016 to immigrants from neighboring countries, who live in slums in Buenos Aires City. The links between sensibilities, conflictivities and social policies are discussed, deepening in some tensions/connections identified between pain and "interstitial practices" associated with poverty, urban informality and social policies. Steve Broidy's A Case for Kindness: A New Look at the Teaching Ethic guides the reader through the building blocks of an argument for the interrelatedness of a kindness-based teaching ethic and the ultimate aims of education in a democratic society. Beginning with the teacher-student relationship, Broidy addresses the impact of a kindness-oriented teaching ethic (KOTE) on classroom environment, educational policy, and nothing less than the future of our life together in a democratic society. In this slim volume, the reader is rewarded with a depth and clarity of thought on a topic of critical importance to the present and future of our education system and society: our human sensibilities and relationships with each other. - Abstract
The objective of this paper is to recognize the multiple facets of sub-existence and/or subsistence of aesthetic experiences in the contexts of Early Childhood Education, realizing the possibilities that children find for understanding of self and the other and to express and share experiences, ideas and questions. The research is based on a qualitative approach of hermeneutic and criticism, supported in the logbook and observational experiences as collection instruments. The argument considers the complexity of childhoods and the necessary aesthetic transgression to understand the richness and uniqueness of the expressive language that children carry. In the daily life of Early Childhood Education, the manifestations of children, although not recognized by the teacher, persist as details that are navigating outside the expectations of a well-established curricular practice., Este artigo tem como objetivo principal reconhecer as múltiplas facetas de sub-existência e/ou subsistência das experiências estéticas nos contextos de Educação Infantil, percebendo as possibilidades que as crianças encontram para a compreensão de si e do outro e para manifestar e compartilhar vivências, ideias e questionamentos.

- Abstract
Unraveling contemporary corporeal and emotional processes as a result of a series of multiscale technological and scientific colonizations is what Adrián Scribano's most recent book offers us: Colonization of the inner planet. In it, we find a route that without historiographic pretensions places us in a present – albeit dynamic – capable of explaining the cognitive, sensory and affective conquests, even hormonal and molecular, that capitalism has achieved in the 21st century, through mechanisms extractivists and consumer devices as [global] politics of the senses, sensibilities and morals. It is a theoretical-analytical proposal with an intersectional, antispeciesist and decolonial perspective with which to examine the colonization processes of humans and account for their possibilities of action., Desentrañar procesos corporales y emocionales contemporáneos como resultado de una serie de colonizaciones tecnológicas y científicas multiescalares es lo que nos ofrece el libro más reciente de Adrián Scribano: Colonization of the inner planet.

In Leda and the Swan, one of the greatest Anglophone lyric poets of the 20th century W. B. Yeats explores the idea of a single act having tremendous importance for human history. Such a momentous event can bring about the end of civilization and become the dawn of a new age. This is a great cataclysmic moment in history (merging history and myth) for Yeats. The paper suggests that Yeats's sensibilities subtly permeate the narrative and form of Elena Ferrante's The Lost Daughter, thus illustrating the mode of ambiguous past penetrating the present-the tradition that interested Yeats - arguably becoming what in Ferrante has been seen as a form of radical and committed reflection on myriad of contemporary issues. In this context, Yeats and Ferrante communicate the ideas of fragmentation and instability, the sensation of the world crumbling and reforming, and, in doing so, they refer to an instability of boundaries and identities. This is a sensation experienced by both female protagonists - Yeats's mythical Leda and her more contemporary counterpart.

HOMOSEXUALITY - Abstract
India is a multilingual and multicultural country which including marginalization and homosexuals are major problems that threaten the fabric of our society. Factors like caste, religion, community and gender give rise to social exclusion of marginalized people. The Indian society witnessed this marginalization or social exclusion right from time immemorial when it was divided on the basis of caste. But now the discrimination against people in our society on the basis of gender and sexuality is quite visible to the public through the writings of writers like Mahesh Dattani. His drama "On a Muggy Night in Mumbai," explored the problems of marginalization and homosexual faced by the Indian community among the people. He deals with a variety of homosexual sensibilities, including men and women, showing how they react to societal pressures in the present scenario; even he portrayed the theme of marginalistaion through his characters like Kamlesh and Sharad. The (in)sensibilities to the vigilance of others in contemporary cities are studied. In particular, the analysis focuses on the surveillance technologies that permeate the urban structure on a global scale as a way of observing those who live and transit more systematically. Starting off of the premise that these technologies are deployed territorially in order to make them perceptible to society, generating sensibilities to regulate and control their behaviour. However, the effects of surveillance on society are not homogeneous, and while some are permanently violated because they are sensible to the possible observation of others, there are those who manage to normalize this surveillance and even be insensible to its presence. The research is mainly circumscribed in Mexico City where, as part of the broader research project, the phenomenon was studied and semi-structured interviews were carried out regarding the perceptions and sensibilities of the inhabitants. But also, relevant international social practices are taken into account.

This article examines eleven speeches on ecology and climate change given by students at theirgraduation ceremonies (at Centrale Nantes, ENSAIA, AgroParisTech, HEC, ENSAT, Polytechnique,Mines Paris, ESSEC). It offers a taxonomy of the criticisms, commitments and sensitivities madeexplicit in their speeches. The analysis, inspired by pragmatism, focuses on the similarities anddifferences between the speeches, their position regarding education and, finally, will focus on theterm "bifurcate". The article will follow the biography of this term, showing how it is politicized, collectivized, pluralized, and de-radicalized in the different discourses. This analysis is supplementedby a study of press articles on the speeches, especially those made by Clément Choisne at CentraleNantes and by the "deserters" at AgroParisTech. The article shows a first line of tension regarding theproposed solutions to ecological problems: should people "diverge”, "bifurcate", "desert","boycott", or should they change the system from the "inside"? A second line of tension is visiblebetween a vision of the engineer as a modernist figure - who controls, designs solutions andevacuates all forms of emotions - and a vision of the engineer as an ecological figure, who listens, doubts, cares and makes his feelings and attachments explicit., Cet article examine onze discours sur l’écologie et le changement climatique prononcés par desétudiants lors de leurs remises de diplômes (à Centrale Nantes, ENSAIA, AgroParisTech, HEC,ENSAT, Polytechnique, Mines Paris, ESSEC).

This thesis analyzes Marist school buildings and spaces in Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo, from 1920 to 1980, from three axes: production of space, habitability practices and relationship with the city. The institutions analyzed were Colégio Marista Rosário and Colégio Marista Champagnat in Porto Alegre and Colégio Arquidiocesano de São Paulo. The history of these schools is linked to the arrival of the Marist Congregation in Brazil. The Institute of the Marist Brothers was founded by Marcellin Champagnat in 1817 in France. The history of the congregation in Brazil is linked to an effort by the Catholic Church to recover the faithful and re-Catholicize the population, in addition to spreading the importance of religious education in Brazilian schools. The school architecture of the three institutions was analyzed from three aspects: their production, relationship with the city and ways of habitability. The research examined nineteen interviews with former students produced using the Oral History methodology and other documents such as school journals, plans, photographs and memorial books. Historical document analysis and Oral History were used for the methodological treatment of written and oral documents, respectively. The temporality of the research comprises the period from 1920 to 1980, since, in the 1920s, the buildings of two of the examined schools are built and it extends until 1980, considering the period of schooling of the interviewees. The research is part of the field of the history of education at the intersection with the history of school architecture and the history of sensibilities. In this sense, it makes use of the contributions of Sandra Pesavento, Serge Gruzinski and Alain Corbin, with regard to the history of sensibilities. In addition to the contributions of Marcus Bencostta, Agustin Escolano, Antonio Vinao, Igor Guatelli to thinking about architecture. On educational heritage, the research used Rosa Fátima de Souza, Durval Albuquerque, Françoise Choay as important references for the research. The process of arrival of the congregation in Brazil is analyzed, as a result of measures aimed at restoring Catholic influence in the country in the face of the impact of the secularization of education carried out after the Proclamation of the Republic. When dealing with sensitivities, housing and heritage, Marist schools were investigated from the point of view of their relationship with the subjects who inhabited them. Buildings play an active role in shaping these sensitivities. In the construction of these sensitive narratives, I paid attention to saudades acting as na antidote to oblivion. This sensitivity emerged at times when students were leaving the institution. Spatiality also acted together with religious discourses in the conformation of sensibilities. By erecting altars to Mary, holding school parties in the schools’ courtyard and maintaining the obligation of Mass and attendance at chapels, the Brothers maintained the Catholic sensibilities that acted directly on the way students felt those spaces. The Marist buildings act as a symbol of a way of educating the congregation and also as a way of marking the identity of former students. It is understood that the ways of inhabiting and the sensitivities correspond to an immaterial dimension of the educational heritage.

This chapter looks at the examples from the late 1920s and early 1930s Shanghai new sensationist (xin’-ganjuepai) author, Liu Na’ou 劉吶歐, to offer a reading of his short stories in reference to the philosophy of perceptual experience and the literary history of the texts. It argues that literature written with a focus on sensational responses is a genre resistant to representation. The more exhaustively the city is portrayed with an emphasis on sensations, the more perceptual knowledge the reader seems to have of the city; but paradoxically, the less she knows the city itself. To read such literature, it requires a rigorous philosophical analysis of the problem of perception, such as what this chapter develops by borrowing from study of Cézanne’s paintings by the phenomenologist Merleau-Ponty. This study discovers that while the sensationist literature poses a challenge of interpreting the narrated urban reality for the reader, it also suggests a new epistemology of the city in literature, as well as explores a different framework of understanding the city in terms of sensations.
