Objective (s): The most common cause of death and mortality of infants is preterm labor. The identification of factors associated with preterm labor will reduce preterm infant mortality. This study aimed to determine the relationship between preterm delivery and oral, kidney and urinary tracts infections in pregnant women Methods: This was a case-control study that carried on the 198 pregnant women (66 pregnant women with premature labor as case group and 132 pregnant women with term delivery as control group) in selected hospitals in Isfahan, Iran, in 2018. For data collection we used demographic and fertility questionnaire, and the Holbrook standard checklist. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t–test, chi-square, Mann-Whitney, Fisher’s exact test, logistic regression. Results: The results showed that there was no significant relationship between preterm labor and kidney, urinary tracts infections (p=0.626). While the logistic regression showed significant association between the onset of uterine contractions (preterm birth) and of the mouth and teeth infections (p=0.012) Conclusion: The findings suggest that there is relationship between preterm deliveries and oral infections. Therefore, it is recommended that preventive necessary measures be taken or treat oral infections faster in women before and during pregnancy.

The Bosnian War (1992–1995) was one of the most brutal conflicts in Europe since the end of World War II. Thirty‐four cease‐fires failed to produce peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina until the late American diplomat, Richard Holbrooke, brokered one that set the stage for a series of negotiations—starting in the Balkans and ending in Dayton, Ohio. The Dayton peace process finally terminated the Bosnian War. The interplay of military intervention by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and diplomacy by the United States was remarkable. This article highlights thirteen conflict resolution lessons or "Holbrookeisms" that can be learned from the Dayton peace process. Some aspects of Holbrooke's approach toward the peace process helped him to successfully mediate an end to the Bosnian War, while others contributed toward some of the existing cleavages in today's Bosnian society. Although it had had some drawbacks, Dayton's Peace Accord was to be a successful one due to the following reasons: Firstly, USA finally realised they had been the crucial factor of war ending in Bosnia and Herzegovina, otherwise their credibility as the great power would be put into question. Secondly, Croatian military operation called 'Oluja' ('Storm') and ruthless bombing of Serbian targets in Bosnia and Herzegovina changed balance of power and created factual fundament for negotiation on territorial division by drawing of future maps on the field. Thirdly, Milošević finally realised Serbs from Bosnia were a primary obstacle toward the lifting of international sanctions and set free isolation. Fourthly, American administration gave a full freedom to the main negotiator Holbrooke to lead the negotiations. Finally, Dayton's Peace Accord managed to ensure the cease of fire, which was the greatest achievement of it. On the other hand, it could not give the answer to the question of the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina either it is in integration or separation. The basic problem which is going to appear during its implementation will include nation building process on the ruins of the war. This is because the above mentioned process is influenced by domestic political forces, considerations and dilemmas besides strong international civic and military presence. In this point coercive diplomacy has proven to be unsuccessful. It might be rung off.
