It is important to improve the hohlraum radiation temperature for the research of high energy density physics, especially for study of inertial confinement fusion. Increasing the wall reemission ratio is an effective way to improve the temperature. It is found in theory that low density foam could reduce hohlraum wall energy loss, and then increase hohlraum temperature. In previous studies, experiments have shown that laser-to-X-ray conversion is enhanced by Au foam. However, improving reemission ratio is more important to increase hohlraum radiation temperature, because most of energy is lost in the wall.In this paper, we report our experiments carried out on SGⅢ prototype to compare the X-ray flux reemitted by Au foam and that by Au. For the experimental design, Au solid and Au foam are irradiated symmetrically along the axis by hohlraum radiation source Tr(t), which is assessed by broadband X-ray spectrometer flat-response X-ray diodes. The measured peak temperature is about 190 eV. Reemission flux from sample is measured by transmission grating spectrometer (TGS). The space-resolved image for pure Au sample shows that the hohlraum radiation is asymmetrical along the axis in the experimental conditions, temperature of top is higher than that at the bottom, which is consistent with simulation results obtained by using IRAD3D code. In order to compare the reemission flux from Au solid sample and that from Au foam sample in same conditions, we need to correct the symmetry of hohlraum radiation. By multiplying the ratio of top flux to bottom flux in pure Au target by the bottom flux in Au-Au foam target, where Au foam is on, we make sure that they are ablated by the same radiation source. The calculated results show that X-ray flux is increased by 20% by Au foam of 0.4 g/cc density when the hohlraum temperature is 190 eV. The typical observed time-integrated X-ray reemission spectra for Au solid and Au foam by TGS are also shown. We see that N-band and O-band reemission are clearly enhanced by Au foam, and the O-band reemission is almost the same as M-band reemission. The increased flux concentrates below 1 keV of the soft X-ray emission.The self-similar solution results and MULTI 1D simulation results show that the wall loss energy fraction is saved by Au foam, whose relation to reemission flux can be described by a simple expression. The theoretical solution shows that the emission flux increases about 10%, and the MULTI simulation indicates that the emission flux increases about 6.8%. They are in qualitative agreement with the experiments results. These results show an alluring prospect for Au foam to be used as hohlraum wall.

In order to improve the two-dimensional imaging diagnostic accuracy of inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experiment, a calibration method of the dynamic spatial resolution of X-ray framing image-converter (XFIC) is proposed. When an object with straight edge function is projected onto the photocathode of XFIC as an input, edge spread function can be obtained by recording an image of the XFIC output. The first derivative of the edge spread function produces the line spread function (LSF). Then the modulation transfer function (MTF) of the system can be worked out by Fourier transform of the LSF. Therefore, the spatial resolution can be deduced. According to this theory, the spatial resolution of XFIC can be obtained. Based on SG-Ⅱ laser facility, the calibrating X-ray source is generated by 8 bundled lasers bombarding the target. High-Z knife-edge is irradiated by the X-ray and imaged on the photocathode of XFIC, and then a dynamic image is obtained as the system works in the gating mode. By handling the dynamic image, the LSF of XFIC is given by analyzing the edge image. Then the MTF of the camera can be indicated by the Fourier transform of the LSF. When the MTF is 0.1, the corresponding spatial resolution of the imaging system is 20 lp/mm. According to the dynamic spatial resolution theory of framing image-converter, the extreme spatial resolution is 22.8 lp/mm. The calibration result agrees with the theoretical results. By contrast, the static spatial resolution of the same X-ray framing image-converter calibrated by the traditional method is presented here. The calibrated static spatial resolution is 22 lp/mm, a little higher than the dynamic one. During the two-dimensional imaging diagnosis, the X-ray framing image-converter works in the dynamic gating mode, thus the calibrated dynamic spatial resolution can be more truthful to reflect its imaging diagnosis ability.

This paper mainly studied the circuit parameter calculation theory and the methods based on damped oscillations in transient signals. The methods can be used for the location and origin of faults by calculating the circuit parameters of transient fault signals' path when the fault occurs in the power system transmission lines. It is important in theoretical and practical engineering to locate faults in powerlines by calculating circuit parameters based on damped oscillations which are the main component of the transient signals. In R-L and R-C circuits, relations of the characteristic parameters in damped oscillation voltage and current in time domain, with the circuit parameters as well as the component parameters are deduced. And the impedance characteristic of the circuit under damped oscillation is analyzed, which is defined as a pseudo-impedance based on the definition that impedance is steady and sinusoidal. Relations between the pseudo-impedance and circuit parameters are also found. Relations between component parameter and pseudo-impedance in series or parallel are also analyzed. So methods for circuit parameter calculation are proposed separately based on the characteristic parameters and pseudo-impedance, each of which is a kind of characteristic of the damped oscillation signal. Specific calculation methods are also proposed combining with the state-of-the-art signal analysis for damped oscillation signal. Analyses in this paper may lay an important foundation for practical engineering application. The proposed theory and methods are verified based on simulation of fault signals produced by MATLAB. The equivalent circuit of an actual distribution system is simulated by using PSCAD/EMTDC. Actual fault signals reappear in the simulation. Location of single-line-to-ground fault using damped oscillation signal proposed in the paper is proved feasible.

Transmission grating spectrometer is applied in the area of inertial confinement fusion and other laser plasma interaction experiments. Accurate spectrum estimation depends on the measurement uncertainty. Based on the transmission grating diffraction efficiency calibration experiments, the uncertainty of diffraction efficiency is analyzed. Then the uncertainty of X-ray spectrum unfolding progress is investigated. The total uncertainty of the measured spectrum is obtained for 0.1 to 5 keV.

In non-commutative spaces the invariant eigen-operator method is used to derive and calculate Hamiltonian spectra for three kinds of three coupled harmonic oscillators: no coupling, coordinate coupling and momentum coupling. According to the comparison with the results in commutative space, it is shown that when the non-commutative parameter is zero the obtained energy levels are equal to the energy levels in commutative space. Finally the effect of the coupling coefficient on Hamiltonian spectrum in non-commutative space is discussed.

Transmission grating is widely used in measurement of soft X rays. In order to measure the diffraction efficiencies of the transmission grating which is used in laser fusion, the transmission grating was calibrated on Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility in the energy region from 200eV to 1600eV, and the experimental results have been obtained. The model for grating efficiency simulation has been developed and calculations using a new so called 7-side quasi-trapezoidal cross section model were carried out. The results from the new model are in good agreement with the experimental data. The exact grating wire cross section is described.

Time- and space- resolved x-ray spectrum diagnostic system has been established by coupling flat-field grating and gated-MCP (micro-channel plate) with an optic al CCD. A series of experimental investigations on the characterization of the d iagnostic system have been carried out to develop quantitative measurement techn ology of x-ray absorption spectrum. This diagnostic technology has been successf ully applied to the measurements of absorption.

Low-Z CHO targets were illuminated by a low-energy laser beam on Xingguang laser facility to produce relatively low-temperature plasma. The ratios of spectrum intensity of the carbon ions to the oxygen ions have been measured by a 2400 lines per millimeter grating spectrometer in order to obtain the electron temperature. The diagnostics on low electron temperature has been developed.

Transmission grating efficiencies for soft X-ray and quantum efficiencies of X-ray CCD in the energy range of 100-1500eV were carefully calibrated on Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility. A model is developed to simulate the calibrated grating efficiencies, another model is developed to calculate the CCD quantum efficiencies. The effect of CCD surface contamination on CCD quantum efficiency is also studied. Finally, a method for unfolding the soft X-ray spectrum measured with transmission grating spectrometer is introduced, in which the grating efficiencies, CCD quantum efficiencies and grating higher order overlapping have been taken into account. The developed quantitative measurement method has been applied to obtain X-ray spectrum from gold plasma.
