Kültürel ve sosyolojik açıdan kozmopolit bir özelliğe sahiptir. Geçmiş dönemlerde de gayrimüslim toplulukların bir arada uzun yıllar yaşadıkları görülmektedir. İmparatorluk zamanında toplum üzerinde dinin (İslam) yoğun baskısı vardır. Kentin toplumsal örgütlenişinde ve gündelik yaşamında dinin ve geleneksel unsurların baskın izleri hala görülmektedir. Bu makalede, kentin sivil toplum yaşamında geçişlilikler/süreklilikler “sosyolojik” açıdan konu edinmektedir. Kentin siviltoplum hayatına rengini veren dinamikler eleştirel analize tabi tutulmaktadır., Gaziantep is a unique city in terms of history, economics and sociology in South-eastern Anatolia. Its economic indicators are above the ones of overall of Turkey. Therefore, it is the destination of a dense internal migration. It has a cosmopolitan feature in terms of its culture and sociology. It is seen that non- Muslim communities had co-habited for a long time in the past eras. In the age of Empire, there had been a huge religious (Islamic) pressure upon the society. These dominative marks of religious and traditional elements are still observed in social organization and everyday life of the city. In this essay, transitiveness/continuity in civil social life of city is “sociologically” raised. The dynamics which enliven the civil social life of city are critically analysed.

This study was carried out to determine the effects of pre-harvest aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG, 150, 225 ve 300 mg/L) and naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA, 20 mg/L) treatments in different doses on storage performance of ‘Ak Saki’ apple cultivar (Malus domestica Borkh.) in 2012. The changes on some fruit quality parameters were measured at 2±1 oC temperature and with 90±5 % relative humidity at 45 days interval during storage. The lowest weight loss was obtained from 300 mg/L AVG treated fruits during the storage. In the all analysis date, the highest L* value was obtained from 300 mg/L AVG treated fruits, and the lowest hue angle value was reported from the fruits of control treatment. The flesh firmness was determined that the best kept in the 225 and 300 mg/L AVG treated fruits during the storage. The flesh firmness significantly reduced with NAA treatment at the end of storage. The highest soluble solids concentration (SSC) was obtain from control fruit during the storage, whereas the lowest SSC was observed in fruit treated with 300 mg/L AVG. In the all analysis date, the highest titratable acidity was obtained in fruits treated with 225 and 300 mg/L AVG. The starch degradation was delayed with AVG treatments.

In this paper, the complex q-Balázs-Szabados-Kantorovich operators are defined, and a convergence result and an upper quantitative estimate of these operators are given.

This study is about the problems, expectations, Turkey and future perceptions of the refugees that have come to Turkey and are staying in Şanlıurfa, Harran and Akçakale "Tent Cities" due to the civil war in Syria. The fact that there is scarcely any scientific study regar- ding the "Syrian refugees", the number of which exceeds hundred thousand in our country, has set forth the necessity to examine this issue. The research performed within this framework is based on a field research questioning the socio-economic and demographic qualifications, camp satisfactions and Turkey and future perceptions of the refugees. During the research, "survey" and "focus group" techniques have been used as information gathering instruments., Bu çalışma, Suriye'de yaşanan iç savaş sonucu Türkiye'ye gelip Şanlıurfa Harran ve Akçakale 'Çadır kent'te kalan sığınmacıların sorunlarını, beklentilerini, Türkiye ve gelecek algılarını konu edinmektedir. Ülkemizde sayıları yüzbinleri geçen "Suriyeli sığınmacılar" üzerine bilimsel çalışmanın yok denecek kadar az olması, bu konunun incelenmesinin gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çerçevede araştırma, kampta kalanların sosyo-ekonomik ve demografik özelliklerini, kamp memnuniyetlerini, Türkiye ve gelecek algılarını sorgulayan bir saha araştırmasına dayanmaktadır. Araştırmada bilgi toplama aracı olarak "anket" ve "odak (focus) grup" tekniği kullanılmıştır.

Bazı meyve kalite parametrelerinde oluşan değişimler, % 90±5 nispi nem ve 2±1 °C depolama koşullarında 45 günlük aralıklar ile izlenmiştir. Depolama süresince en düşük ağırlık kaybı 300 mg/L AVG uygulaması yapılan meyvelerde elde edilmiştir. Tüm analiz dönemlerinde 300 mg/L AVG uygulaması yapılan meyvelerde en yüksek L* değeri, kontrol meyvelerinde en düşük hue açı değeri kaydedilmiştir. Depolama süresince meyve eti sertliğinin en iyi şekilde 225 ve 300 mg/L AVG uygulamaları yapılan meyvelerde korunduğu belirlenmiştir. NAA uygulaması, depolama süresi sonunda meyve eti sertliğini önemli düzeyde düşürmüştür. Depolama süresince suda çözünebilir kuru madde (SÇKM) miktarı kontrol meyvelerinde en yüksek, 300 mg/L AVG uygulaması yapılan meyvelerde ise en düşük bulunmuştur. Tüm analiz dönemlerinde en yüksek titre edilebilir asit miktarı, 225 ve 300 mg/L AVG uygulanmış meyvelerden elde edilmiştir. AVG uygulamaları nişasta parçalanmasını geciktirmiştir.

Bu çalışmada kompleks q-Balázs-Szabados operatörlerinin kompakt diskler üzerinde analitik fonksiyonlara yaklaşım özellikleri incelenmiştir. İlk olarak, bu operatörlerin yakınsama oranı, Voronovskaja tip teorem ve tam yakınsama oranı nicel tahminlerle verilmiştir. Böylece q-Balázs-Szabados operatörlerinin yaklaşım özellikleri reel aralıklardan kompleks düzlemin kompakt disklerine nicel tahminlerle genişletilmiştir. İkinci olarak, tensör çarpım tip iki değişkenli kompleks q-Balázs-Szabados operatörleri tanımlanarak, bu operatörlerin kompakt polidisklerde analitik fonksiyonlara yaklaşım özellikleri incelenmiştir. Bu anlamda, bu operatörlerin nicel yakınsama oranı ve Voronovskaja tip teoremi elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu operatörlerin tam yakınsama oranı nicel bir tahminle verilmiştir. In this study, the approximation properties of complex q-Balázs-Szabados operators are investigated. Firstly, the order of convergence and the Voronovskaja-type theorem with quantitative estimate of these operators and the exact order of their approximation are given. Hence, the approximation properties of complex q-Balázs-Szabados operators from real intervals to compact disks in the complex plane with quantitative estimate. Secondly, the bivariate complex q-Balázs-Szabados operators of tensor product kind are defined. The approximation properties of these operators attached to analytic functions on compact polydisks are investigated. In this sense, the order of convergence and the Voronovskaja-type theorem with quantitative estimate are obtained. The exact order of these operators is also given quantitatively. 92

Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de kadın istihdamına bölgesel düzeyde yapılan bir araştırmayla ışık tutmaktadır. Araştırma, Güneydoğu Anadolu Projesi (GAP) illeri içinde yer alan Gaziantep, Adıyaman ve Kilis illerinde (TUİK TRC1) yapılmıştır. Her üç ilden 500 firma örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Çalışma söz konusu illerde "kadın işgücünün" sektörel özelliklerini, kadın istihdamının mevcut durumu ve geleceğini, 'işverenlerin' perspektifinden kadın istihdamının görünümünü, sorunlarını ve beklentilerini analiz etmektedir, This study aims to throw fresh light on women employment in Turkey with the research performed on regional level. Süreç iyileştirme, üretim sektöründe olduğu gibi sağlık sektöründe de büyük önem kazanmaktadır. Süreç kalitesinin ölçülmesi, süreç iyileştirmenin en önemli bileşenlerinden biridir ve bu amaçla birçok sağlık kalite gösterge modelleri geliştirilmiştir. Mevcut kalite modelleri, yapısal, süreç ve çıktı türü metrikler içermesine rağmen, sadece bazı spesifik hastalıklar, klinik veya kliniksel alanlara odaklanmakta olup, sağlık süreçlerini tümüyle ölçen bir model bulunmamaktadır. Ayrıca, süreçlerin tüm yönleriyle ölçülememesi nedeniyle hastaneler hastane içi ve hastane dışı süreç kalitesi karşılaştırması yapamamaktadırlar. Bu sorunlara çözüm bulmak amacıyla Sağlık Bakım Süreç Kalitesi Ölçüm Modeli (HPQMM) geliştirilmiş ve 3 kamu hastanesinin laboratuvar ve muayene süreçlerine uygulanmıştır. Ölçümler sonucunda, yeni geliştirilen modelin süreçlerin güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini belirleyen, süreç kalitesi için daha detaylı bilgi veren, mevcut modellerden daha geniş kalite değerlendirme perspektifi sağlayan ve süreç karşılaştırma için hastanelere ölçülebilir bilgi sağlayan bir model olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Similar to the manufacturing sector, process improvement gains much attention in health care sector. Measuring process quality is one of the most important components of process improvement and numerous healthcare quality indicator models are developed to achieve this aim. Existing quality models focus on some specific diseases, clinics or clinical areas. Although they contain structure, process, or output type measures, there is no model which measures the quality of health care processes comprehensively. As a result, hospitals cannot compare quality of processes internally and externally. To bring a solution to the above problems, we developed Health Care Process Quality Measurement Model (HPQMM), and it is applied in three public hospital?s laboratory and assessment processes. We observed that, the developed model determines weak and strong aspects of the processes, gives a detailed picture for the process quality, extends the quality aspects of existing models, and provides quantifiable information to hospitals to compare their processes with multiple organizations. 159

This analysis technique is used to estimate parameters of variables in the model, when dependent variable is binary or dichotomous and independent variables are nominal or numerical. Determination of risk factor caused to convulsion is important for beginning to treatment in time. In this study, risk factors for convulsion in cerebral palsy children were studied. As a result, ?sex?, ?delivery mode?, ?topographical paralysis? and ?mental retardation? variables were found as statistically significant risk factors for convulsion. 52

The high-resolution structure of the rotor ring from alkaliphilic Bacillus pseudofirmus OF4 reveals a new type of ion binding in F1Fo-ATP synthases., We solved the crystal structure of a novel type of c-ring isolated from Bacillus pseudofirmus OF4 at 2.5 Å, revealing a cylinder with a tridecameric stoichiometry, a central pore, and an overall shape that is distinct from those reported thus far. Within the groove of two neighboring c-subunits, the conserved glutamate of the outer helix shares the proton with a bound water molecule which itself is coordinated by three other amino acids of outer helices. Although none of the inner helices contributes to ion binding and the glutamate has no other hydrogen bonding partner than the water oxygen, the site remains in a stable, ion-locked conformation that represents the functional state present at the c-ring/membrane interface during rotation. This structure reveals a new, third type of ion coordination in ATP synthases. It appears in the ion binding site of an alkaliphile in which it represents a finely tuned adaptation of the proton affinity during the reaction cycle., Author Summary Like the wind turbines that generate electricity, the F1Fo-ATP synthases are natural “ion turbines” each made up of a stator and a rotor that turns, when driven by a flow of ions, to generate the cell's energy supply of ATP. The Fo motor rotates by reversible binding and release of coupling ions that flow down the electrochemical ion gradient across the cytoplasmic cell membrane (in the case of bacteria) or intracellular organelle membranes (in the case of eukaryotic cells). Here, we present the structure of a rotor (c-)ring from a Bacillus species (B. pseudofirmus OF4) determined at high-resolution by X-ray crystallography. This bacterium prefers alkaline environments where the concentration of protons (H+) is lower outside than inside the cell – the inverse of the situation usually found in organisms that prefer neutral or acidic environments. The amino acid sequence of the protein subunits in this rotor, nevertheless, has features common to an important group of ATP synthases in organisms from bacteria to man. The structure reveals a new type of ion binding in which a protonated glutamate residue in the protein associates with a water molecule. This finding raises the possibility considered by Nobel laureate Paul Boyer several decades ago that a hydronium ion (a protonated water molecule, H3O+), rather than a proton alone, might be the coupling species that energizes ATP synthesis. Also, it demonstrates the finely tuned adaptation of ATP synthase rotor rings and their ion-binding sites to the specific requirements of different organisms.
