In this study, the exhaust back pressure (EBP) behavior resulting from the gradual increase in engine load of the exhaust muffler system used in a diesel engine generator was investigated numerically and experimentally. By examining the compatibility of numerical analysis and experimental test exhaust back pressure results with each other, the possibility of eliminating the need for experimental exhaust back pressure test is examined. Firstly, the exhaust gas temperature and flow rate of the selected diesel engine under five different engine loads were experimentally measured. A reactive muffler with perforated pipe, designed to be integrated into the selected engine, was subjected to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyzes using measured exhaust gas temperature and gas flow rate. Numerical EBP values were obtained with these numerical analysis studies, which were carried out using the finite volume method in the ANSYS-Fluent program. Finally, the exhaust silencer system, which was manufactured, was subjected to experimental EBP tests under five different engine loads that were gradually increased. According to the numerical and experimental EBP results obtained, it has been observed that the gradual engine load increase in a diesel generator increases the EBP as parabolic. It was understood that the numerical and experimental results of the EBP for different load conditions became more compatible as the engine load increased, and the numerical analysis error rate was found as 4.06% under the 110% engine load which is the critical load condition. In addition, it was concluded that the need for experimental EBP tests can be eliminated by using only numerical studies in the generator exhaust muffler design., Bu çalışmada dizel motora sahip bir jeneratörde kullanılan egzoz susturucu sisteminin, motor yükünün kademeli olarak artışı karşısında sergilediği egzoz geri basınç (EGB) davranışı sayısal ve deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Sayısal analiz EGB sonuçlarının deneysel test EGB sonuçları ile uyumu kontrol edilerek deneysel EGB ölçümüne olan ihtiyacın ortadan kaldırılabilme durumu incelenmiştir. İlk olarak seçilen dizel motorun beş farklı motor yükü altındaki egzoz gaz sıcaklığı ve debisi deneysel olarak ölçülmüştür. Seçilen motora entegre edilmek üzere tasarlanan perfore borulu reaktif bir susturucu ölçülen gaz sıcaklığı ve debi değerleri kullanılarak hesaplamalı akışkanlar dinamiği (HAD) analizlerine tabi tutulmuştur. ANSYS-Fluent programında sonlu hacimler yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen bu sayısal analiz çalışmaları ile sayısal EGB değerleri elde edilmiştir. Son olarak imalatı gerçekleştirilen egzoz susturucu sistemi, kademeli olarak artırılan beş farklı motor yükü altında deneysel EGB testlerine tabi tutulmuştur. Elde edilen sayısal ve deneysel EGB sonuçlarına göre dizel bir jeneratörde kademeli motor yükü artışının EGB’yi parabolik olarak artırdığı görülmüştür. Farklı yük koşulları için EGB’ye ait sayısal ve deneysel çalışma sonuçlarının motor yükü arttıkça daha uyumlu hale geldiği anlaşılmış olup kritik yük koşulu olan %110 motor yükü altında analiz hata oranının %4,06 olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca jeneratör egzoz susturucu tasarımında, sadece sayısal çalışmalar kullanılarak deneysel EGB testlerine olan ihtiyacın ortadan kaldırılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Elektrik enerjisinin olmadığı veya kesintiye uğradığı durumlarda kullanılan dizel jeneratörler, çalışma esnasında, çevreye beyan güçleri ve dizel motorların teknik özelliklerine bağlı olarak yüksek miktarda gürültü yaymaktadır. Dizel jeneratörlerin oluşturdukları bu gürültü, çevreye ve canlılara fiziksel ve psikolojik olarak zarar vermektedir. Bundan dolayı, bu gürültü düzeyi çevre yönetmelikleri ve standartlar tarafından sınırlandırılmıştır. Jeneratör imalatçıları bu yasal limitlere uyabilmek için dizel jeneratör setinin çevresine ses izolasyon kabinleri tasarlamaktadırlar. Bu izolasyon kabinlerinin gürültü düzeyini ne kadar düşüreceğini hesaplayabilmek için farklı yöntemler kullanılmaktadır. Ses izolasyon kabinlerinin gürültü düşüm değerlerinin sonlu elemanlar metotlarında tespit edebilmek ve optimize edebilmek için gürültü kaynağının yüzey hızlarının bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, kabinli dizel jeneratör setinin sonlu elemanlar metodu ile gürültü düşüm değerleri hesaplanmış, testleri gerçekleştirilerek analiz çıktıları ile test sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır., Diesel generator used in where there is no electricity or when the generator is interrupted emit a high amount of noise to the environment during operation, depending on their rated power and the technical characteristics of diesel engines. This noise created by diesel generators harms the environment and living things physically and psychologically. Therefore, this noise level is limited by environmental regulations and standards. Generator manufacturers design sound insulation cabinets around the diesel generator set in order to comply with these legal limits. Different methods are used to calculate how much these isolation cabinets will reduce the noise level. It is necessary to know the surface velocities of the noise source to determine the noise reduction values of the sound insulation cabinets in finite elements method and to perform their optimization. In this study, the noise reduction values of the diesel generator set with cabin were calculated using finite elements method. Analysis and test results are compared by carrying out tests.

Günümüzde akıllı telefonlar ve mobil uygulamalardaki teknolojik ilerlemelerle birlikte kitle kaynak kullanımı, geniş bir araştırma yelpazesinde verilerin toplanması ve paylaşılması bakımından ortak bir paradoks haline gelmiştir. Özellikle, sosyal medya platformlarında (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Panoramio, YouTube ve Vimeo) herkese açık olarak paylaşılan fotoğraflar ve videolar, nesnelerin üç boyutlu (3B) gerçekliğe dayalı dijital modellerini oluşturmak için zaman ve maliyet açısından etkin bir yaklaşım sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Flickr platformundan ücretsiz olarak elde edilen fotoğraflar ve Hareket ile Nesne Oluşturma (SfM) tekniği kullanılarak Boab Hapishane Ağacı’nın 3B modellenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları, Flickr’da paylaşılan kitle kaynaklı fotoğrafların, doğal mirasın 3B belgelenmesi için veri kaynağı olarak kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir. Çalışma, SFM tekniği ve sosyal medya fotoğrafları kullanılarak doğal ve kültürel mirasın 3B belgelenmesi alanında çalışmalar gerçekleştiren araştırmacılara ulaşmayı hedeflemekte, anıt ağaçların korunması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılması için referans oluşturabilecek yenilikçi bir yaklaşım sunmaktadır., Nowadays, with the technological advances in smartphones and mobile applications, crowdsourcing has become a common paradox in terms of collecting and sharing data in a wide range of research. In particular, photos and videos shared publicly on social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Panoramio, YouTube, and Vimeo) provide a time and cost effective approach to generating three-dimensional (3D) reality-based digital models of objects. In this study, it is aimed to 3D modelling of the Boab Prison Tree using the free photos obtained from the Flickr platform and the Structure From Motion (SfM) technique. The results of the study show that crowdsourced photos shared on Flickr can be used as a data source for 3D documentation of natural heritage. The study aims to reach researchers who work in the field of 3D documentation of natural and cultural heritage using SfM technique and social media photographs and offers an innovative approach that can be a reference for the conservation of monumental trees and their transfer to the next generation.

Nowadays, the widespread use of mobile devices, social media platforms and web-based applications has enabled a new paradigm of innovation called crowdsourcing. This emerging model has become an innovative tool for collecting and sharing data across a wide range of research. Photos and videos shared publicly on social media platforms offer a time and cost effective opportunity to create three-dimensional (3D) reality-based digital models of objects. In this study, it is aimed to 3D modelling of the Trojan Horse using the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data obtained free of charge from the Youtube platform and the Structure From Motion (SfM) technique. The study aims to reach researchers who work in the field of 3D modelling of wooden artifacts using crowdsourced UAV data, and offers an innovative approach that can be a reference for the conservation and transfer of wooden artifacts to next generation. The results of the study showed the suitability of crowdsourced UAV data as a data source in 3D modelling of wooden artifacts. In the future, widespread use of crowdsourcing and higher resolution image quality will gain increased momentum such research and pave the way for new research., Günümüzde mobil cihazların, sosyal medya platformlarının ve web tabanlı uygulamaların yaygın kullanımı, kitle kaynak kullanımı adı verilen yeni bir inovasyon paradigmasını mümkün kılmıştır. Ortaya çıkan bu model, geniş bir araştırma yelpazesinde verilerin toplanması ve paylaşılması bakımından yenilikçi bir araç haline gelmiştir. Çalışma, kitle kaynaklı İHA verileri kullanılarak ahşap eserlerin 3B modellenmesi alanında çalışmalar gerçekleştiren araştırmacılara ulaşmayı hedeflemekte, ahşap eserlerin korunması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılması için referans oluşturabilecek yenilikçi bir yaklaşım sunmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonuçları, ahşap eserlerin 3B modellenmesinde kitle kaynaklı İHA verilerinin, veri kaynağı olarak uygunluğunu göstermiştir. Gelecekte, kitle kaynak kullanımının yaygınlaşması ve görüntü kalitesinin daha yüksek çözünürlüklü hale gelmesi, bu tür araştırmalara artan bir ivme kazandıracak ve yeni araştırmaların önünü açacaktır.

Visible light communication (VLC) provides an alternative underwater wireless connectivity solution with its low latency and high data rates albeit at relatively shorter distances in the order of tens of meters. In the context of underwater sensor networks (USNs), VLC is particularly suitable to establish connectivity between “data mule” autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and sensor nodes since communications is enabled only when the sensor node and mule AUV are in close proximity. In this paper, we consider a USN scenario where a solar-powered AUV gathers data from the sensor nodes using VLC signaling. We formulate a three-dimensional trajectory optimization for solar-powered AUVs with the goal of maximizing the harvested energy under constraints imposed by the data transmission. The optimization constraints include the minimum required data transfer rate, therefore a corresponding transmission distance, between the sensors and the AUV. We formulate the problem as a bilevel optimization problem. The lower-level objective function is in the form of traveling salesman problem which determines the optimum sequence order of the sensor nodes to be visited while the upper-level objective function is the optimization of the trajectory between each pair of adjacent nodes for the given order of node visits. Our numerical results demonstrate that the proposed trajectory significantly prolongs the mission time and autonomous operation of the AUV without the need to return to home base. Furthermore, since the proposed trajectory optimization is reactive to ocean currents, it brings reductions in the energy consumption of the AUVs.

Hyperspectral Images (HSI) are employed in many fields, owing to the high spectral resolution that offer. Classification of HSIs is a challenging process due to the high spectral resolution of the images. In this regard, the performance of various Machine Learning (ML) algorithms in the classification of HSGs have been investigated. Especially, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) architectures, have been specially developed for the classification of HSIs. Due to the high cost of hyperspectral imaging instruments, obtaining HSI datasets is challenging. In recent years, the costs of new generation hyperspectral imaging systems developed for manned and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have been decreasing, and it has become possible to obtain high spatial resolution and cost-effective HSIs. In this study, it is aimed to examine the performance of various ML algorithms in the classification of HSIs with different spectral and spatial resolutions obtained from various platforms. In this context, satellite-based HyRANK Loukia, manned aircraft-based Chikusei and UAV-based WHU-Hi HanChuan images were classified using Support Vector Machines, Random Forest and CNN algorithms. When the classification performances were examined, it was seen that the highest overall accuracy values were obtained by CNN as 87.78%, 99.82% and 96.89% for the data sets, respectively., Hiperspektral Görüntüler (HSG), sağladığı yüksek spektral çözünürlük sayesinde birçok alanda kullanım alanına sahiptir. HSG’lerin sınıflandırılması, görüntülerin yüksek spektral çözünürlüğü sebebiyle zorlayıcı bir süreçtir. Bu bağlamda HSG’lerin sınıflandırılmasında birçok Makine Öğrenme (MÖ) algoritmasının performansı araştırılmıştır. Özellikle Derin Öğrenmenin alt dallarından biri olan Evrişimli Sinir Ağları (ESA) tabanlı birçok ağ mimarisi HSG’lerin sınıflandırılması için özel olarak geliştirilmiştir. Hiperspektral görüntüleme sistemlerinin (HGS) yüksek maliyetleri sebebiyle veri setlerinin elde edilmesi zordur. Son yıllarda insanlı ve insansız hava araçları (İHA) için geliştirilen yeni nesil hiperspektral görüntüleme sistemlerinin maliyetleri giderek düşmekte olup yüksek mekânsal çözünürlüklü ve uygun maliyetli HSG elde edilmesi mümkün hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada çeşitli platformlardan elde edilmiş farklı spektral ve uzamsal çözünürlükteki HSG’lerin sınıflandırılmasında çeşitli MÖ algoritmalarının performansının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda uydu tabanlı HyRANK Loukia, hava aracı tabanlı Chikusei İHA tabanlı WHU-Hi HanChuan isimli görüntüler Destek Vektör Makineleri, Rastgele Orman ve ESA algoritmaları kullanılarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Sınıflandırma performansları incelendiğinde en yüksek genel doğruluk değerleri veri setleri için sırasıyla %87,78, %99,82 ve %96,89 olarak ESA tarafından elde edildiği görülmüştür.

Şehir planlaması, meteoroloji, ormancılık, madencilik, tarımsal jeoloji, peyzaj ve haritacılık gibi birçok alanda yüksek çözünürlüklü görüntülerde bulunan bilgilere çeşitli amaçlar için ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Yüksek çözünürlüğe sahip görüntülerde yoğun veriler bulunmaktadır ve bu yoğun verilerden istenen detayların otomatik veya yarı otomatik tespiti yapılacak çalışmaya hız, maliyet ve doğruluk açısından katkı sağlamaktadır. Gelişmiş detay çıkarma yöntemleri sayesinde otomatik detay tespiti daha hızlı ve kolay hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada İnsansız Hava Aracı (İHA) ile görünür bölgede (kırmızı-yeşil-mavi bant) elde edilen yüksek çözünürlüklü ham veriler değerlendirilip nesne tabanlı sınıflandırma yaklaşımı ile otomatik karayolu tespiti yapılmıştır. Nesne tabanlı sınıflandırma yöntemiyle; konumsal, spektral ve bağlamsal bilgi gibi farklı nesne özelliklerine göre sınıflandırılmanın mümkün olduğu gösterilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, karayoluna ait ortofoto görüntüsünden nesne tabanlı yaklaşım ile tespit edilen yol ağının yer gerçeği ile ne kadar uyumlu olduğunu belirlemek için iki farklı analiz yapılmıştır. Sınıflandırma kalitesini kontrol etmek için TTA maskesine dayalı hata matrisi yaklaşımı, halihazır harita ile uyumunu araştırmak için ise hata matrisi (Confusion-matrix) ile analiz yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda kapa istatistiği 0.7958, genel doğruluk ve üretici doğruluğu ise sırasıyla 0.7520, 0.8158 hesaplanmıştır., Information contained in high-resolution images in many areas such as urban planning, meteorology, forestry, mining, agriculture, geology, landscaping, and land surveying is needed for various purposes. There are dense data in images with high resolution, and automatic or semi-automatic detection of the details requested from this dense data contributes to the work to be done in terms of speed, cost, and accuracy. Automatic detail detection has become faster and easier thanks to advanced detail extraction methods. In this study, high-resolution raw data obtained in the visible spectrum (red-green-blue band) with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) were evaluated and automatic road detection was made with an object-based classification approach. With the object-oriented classification method, it has been shown that it is possible to classify according to different object properties such as spatial, spectral, and contextual information. As a result of the study, two different analyzes were made to determine the compatibility of the road network detected by the object-oriented approach from the orthophoto image of the highway with the ground reality. Error matrix based on TTA mask approach was used to check the classification quality, and analysis was performed with an error matrix (Confusion matrix) to investigate its compatibility with the existing map. As a result of the analysis, the kappa statistic was 0.7958, the general accuracy and the manufacturer's accuracy were calculated as 0.7520, 0.8158, respectively.

Günümüzde çoğunlukla prefabrik yapılarda, çatılarda, konteynerlerde, baraka ve depo gibi yapıların imalatında kullanılan trapez saclar farklı ölçü ve kalınlıklar ile yapısal dayanım ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmektedir. İçerisine jeneratör gibi çalışan bir makine yerleştirildiğinde ise dinamik etkiler ortaya çıkmakta ve standart trapez profillerinin yetersiz kalmasına neden olmaktadır. Titreşim ve akustik özelliklerinin de ön plana çıktığı bu tip yapılarda dinamik açıdan da gereksinimlerin karşılanması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, istenen dinamik davranışın elde edilebilmesi için farklı trapez sac kesit geometrileri ve kalınlıkları ile karşılaştırmalı çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bu trapez geometrilerinin istenen kriterlere uygunluğu, bilgisayar ortamında sonlu elemanlar analizleri yapılarak; doğrulama çalışması ise üretilen numune üzerinden deneysel modal analiz testi yapılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada farklı trapez sac geometrileri için sonlu elemanlar analizleri yapılmıştır. Sonlu elemanlar analizlerini desteklemek amacıyla deneysel modal analiz yapılarak sonuçların örtüştürülmesi amacıyla gerekli çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir.

In this article, we propose a cross-layer resource management mechanism for an indoor multiuser visible light communication (VLC) access network. The physical layer builds upon DC-biased orthogonal frequency division multiple access. Channel state information at the physical layer serves as a performance indicator for better data rate opportunity while queue state information at medium access control layer provides the information about packet urgency. A packet based traffic arrival model is considered such that incoming packets with random inter arrival times join a separate queue dedicated to each user if the admission control accepts them, otherwise packets are dropped. We formulate and solve a stochastic cross-layer optimization problem to optimize the network resources under the constraints of queue stability and power to maximize the average system throughput. By using the Lyapunov optimization technique, we convert the long term time-average optimization problem into series of single time slot online problem. Then, we decompose the problem into independent sub problems and propose packet admission, resource (access point and subcarrier) allocation and power control solutions. We present simulation results to demonstrate the superiority of proposed scheme over existing solutions in the literature.
