Mild conditioned, second-life ternary nickel–cobalt–manganese (NCM) black powder regeneration from spent lithium-ion batteries' (LIBs) black powder mixture was demonstrated after mild conditioned p-toluenesulphuric acid (PTA)-assisted wet leaching. The NCM ratio was tailored to several combinations (333, 523, 532, and 622) by adding a suitable amount of metal (Ni, Co, Mn)-sulphate salt to the leachate. Regenerated NCM was obtained by co-precipitation with sodium hydroxide pellets and ammonia pH buffering solution, followed by lithium (Li) sintering under ambient air and size sieving. The obtained regenerated NCM powder was used for the energy storage materials (ESM) in coin cell (Li half-cell, CR2032) evaluation. Systematic characterization of regenerated NCM showed that the NCM ratio was close to the target value as assigned in the tailored process, and regenerated 622 (R622) exhibited strong activity in CR2032 coin cell testing among all four ratios with a maximum discharge capacity of 196.6 mAh/g. The fashion and textile industry in its current fast-rising business model has generated a huge amount of textile waste during and after the production process. The environmental impact of this waste is well documented as it poses serious threats to lives on earth. To confront the menace of this huge pollution problem, a number of research works were carried out to examine the possible re-utilization of these waste materials without further damaging the environment; for instance, reusing, generating valuable products, or regenerating fibrous materials to form a closed loop in the cotton textile waste lifecycle. This review covers different methodologies to transform cellulosic textile materials into various products with added value, such as cellulosic glucose, cellulase, etc., and finally, to regenerate the fibrous materials for re-application in textiles and fashion. This article presents an overall picture to researchers outlining the possible value addition of textile waste materials. In this study, hydrothermal synthesis of sea urchin-like NiCo2O4 was successfully demonstrated by a versatile charge-driven self-assembly strategy using positively charged poly(diallydimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) molecules. Physical characterizations implied that sea urchin-like microspheres of ~ 2.5 μm in size were formed by self-assembly of numerous nanoneedles with a typical dimension of ~ 100 nm in diameter. Electrochemical performance study confirmed that sea urchin-like NiCo2O4 exhibited high reversible capacity of 663 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles at current density of 100 mA g−1. Rate capability indicated that average capacities of 1085, 1048, 926, 642, 261, and 86 mAh g−1 could be achieved at 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 mA g−1, respectively. The excellent electrochemical performances were ascribed to the unique micro/nanostructure of sea urchin-like NiCo2O4, tailored by positively charged PDDA molecules. Protic aminophosphines with multiple chiral centers were synthesized in good yields and high purity by the nucleophilic ring-opening of N-protected cyclic sulfamidates with metal phosphides, followed by hydrolysis and deprotection. This synthetic approach is clean, scalable, and high yielding. The method provides an efficient alternative route for the synthesis of chiral aminophosphines.
