3. A Generative Adversarial Framework for Optimizing Image Matting and Harmonization Simultaneously

Abstract

Image matting and image harmonization are two important tasks in image composition. Image matting, aiming to achieve foreground boundary details, and image harmonization, aiming to make the background compatible with the foreground, are both promising yet challenging tasks. Previous works consider optimizing these two tasks separately, which may lead to a sub-optimal solution. We propose to optimize matting and harmonization simultaneously to get better performance on both the two tasks and achieve more natural results. We propose a new Generative Adversarial (GAN) framework which optimizing the matting network and the harmonization network based on a self-attention discriminator. The discriminator is required to distinguish the natural images from different types of fake synthesis images. Extensive experiments on our constructed dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. 15. Effect of Annealing on PL Intensity of NaYF4:Er3+, Yb3+/Ca2+ Phosphor and the Application to Temperature Sensor.

Abstract

We have prepared NaYF4:Er3+/Yb3+/Ca2+ phosphors using the solvothermal method and discussed the influence of annealing on the crystal structure, morphology, and photoluminescence characteristics in this work. The results show that, with the increase of annealing temperature, the crystallization phase changes from a single cubic structure to a mixed phase of cubic and hexagonal phases and the morphology is also condensed from spherical particles to sheets. In particular, the PL intensity of the annealed phosphor becomes much stronger than that of the unannealed phosphor. An annealed NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+/Ca2+ phosphor is selected as an example to investigate the performance of high temperature sensor based on the fluorescence intensity ratio between two green emissions. The measurement range and the maximum absolute sensitivity SA of the annealed sensor material are superior to the corresponding parameters of the same phosphor without annealing. The curve of relative sensitivity curve SR decreases as the ambient temperature increases, but that of the revolution δT presents an opposite trend. All the results show that the NaYF4:Er3+/Yb3+/Ca2+ phosphor is more suitable for application on the high temperature sensor after annealing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

At present, with the increasingly growing application of Internet of Things, virtualization and intelligent technologies, and the maturity of smart campus systems, campus card technology based on radio frequency identification (RFID) has developed rapidly. Due to the convenience of use, it is widely used in dormitory access control system, book borrowing system, attendance system, and payment system. Because the data carried by the RFID card is more and more complex, the requirements for its security are getting higher and higher. In order to solve the problem of identity authentication and privacy protection of the RFID application existed in the digital campus in recent years, an improved mutual authentication protocol in mobile RFID for smart campus is put forward by analyzing and studying existing smart campus authentication protocols based on hash algorithm, which uses the technology of random number S and time stamp T. This protocol implements mutual authentication among the tag, reader, and backend database without the premise that the signal path between the database and reader communication is a safe signal path and can effectively resist counterfeit attack, replay attack, position tracking attack, de-synchronization attack, eavesdropping attack, denial of service attack, and man-in-the-middle attack, and it can also guarantee forward security. Due to the large data operations and storage have been transferred to readers and backend data, the protocol is formally proved to have a strong reliability and a good security. In addition, through the comparison with other existing authentication protocols on the resident variable storage overhead, the cost of computing complexity and the security performance, the authentication protocol proposed in this paper has a better storage and calculation performance, and it can better satisfy the security requirements in mobile RFID applications for smart campus in the future and has a good application prospect.

Abstract

In this work, the deterioration of a polysiloxane coating containing nano-silica in sterile seawater and seawater inoculated with Pseudomonas was explored. The results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed that the decreases in the capacitive loop diameter and the resistance of the coating were significantly higher in seawater inoculated with Pseudomonas than in sterile seawater between 1 and 24 h and between 1 h and 3 days of coating immersion, respectively. These results suggested that Pseudomonas significantly decreased the corrosion resistance of the coating and might decompose the coating after a relatively short period of immersion. However, the single time constant obtained at every immersion time and only one equivalent electrical circuit obtained for both seawater systems revealed that Pseudomonas only slightly decomposed the coating. Scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed a certain amount of degradation of the coating by Pseudomonas after 30 days of immersion. Additionally, when immersion time was extended, Pseudomonas influenced the capacitive loop diameter and the resistance of the coating slightly. Thus, Pseudomonas had only a slight effect on the corrosion resistance of the coating over long periods of immersion.

47. Dynamic Changes in Occupancy of Histone Variant H2A.Z during Induced Somatic Cell Reprogramming.

Abstract

The development of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) has enabled study of the mechanisms underlying cellular reprogramming. Here, we have studied the dynamic distribution of H2A.Z during induced reprogramming with chromatin immunoprecipitation deep sequencing (ChIP-Seq). We found that H2A.Z tended to accumulate around transcription start site (TSS) and incorporate in genes with a high transcriptional activity. GO analysis with H2A.Z incorporated genes indicated that most genes are involved in chromatin assembly or disassembly and chromatin modification both in MEF and Day 7 samples, not in iPSCs. Furthermore, we detected the highest level of incorporation of H2A.Z around TSS in Day 7 samples compared to MEFs and iPSCs. GO analysis with only incorporated genes in Day 7 also displayed the function of chromatin remodeling. So, we speculate H2A.Z may be responsible for chromatin remodeling to enhance the access of transcription factors to genes important for pluripotency.
