IntroductionCorpus callosum injury is a rare type of injury that occurs after a stroke and can cause lower limb dysfunction and a decrease in activities of daily living ability. Furthermore, there are no studies that focus on the progress in rehabilitation of the lower limb dysfunction caused by infarction in the corpus callosum and the effective treatment plans for this condition. We aimed to present a report of two patients with lower limb dysfunction caused by corpus callosum infarction after a stroke and a walking training method.MethodsWe implemented a walking training method that prioritizes bilateral symmetry and increases lateral swaying before the patients established sitting/standing balance. The plan is a rapid and effective method for improving walking dysfunction caused by corpus callosum infarction.Case characteristicsFollowing sudden corpus callosum infarction, both patients experienced a significant reduction in lower limb motor function scores and exhibited evident gait disorders. Scale evaluations confirmed that walking training based on symmetrical and increased lateral sway for patients with lower limb motor dysfunction after corpus callosum infarction led to significant symptom improvement.ConclusionWe report two cases of sudden motor dysfunction in patients with corpus callosum infarction. Symmetrical and increased lateral sway-based walking training resulted in substantial symptom improvement, as confirmed by scale assessments.

Bilateral breast cancer (BBC), an infrequent breast cancer subtype, has primarily been studied in terms of incidence, prognosis, and through comparative analysis of synchronous (SBBC) and metachronous (MBBC) manifestations. The advent and application of organoid technology hold profound implications for tumor research and clinical management. This study represents the pioneering use of organoid models in BBC research. We established organoid lines from two surgical tumor specimens of a BBC patient, with one line undergoing detailed pathological and genomic analysis. The BBC organoid from the right breast demonstrated a marker expression profile of ER (-), PR (-), HER-2 (0), and Ki67 index 10%, indicating that it may derived from the TNBC tissue. Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) displayed consistent set of Top10 cancer driver genes affected by missense mutations, frameshift mutation, or splice site mutations in three tumor tissues and the organoid samples. The organoids’ single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were more closely aligned with the TNBC tissue than other tumor tissues. Evolutionary analysis suggested that different tumor regions might evolve from a common ancestral layer. In this case, the development of BBC organoids indicated that simultaneous lesions with diverse molecular profiles shared a high degree of consistency in key tumor-driving mutations. These findings suggest the feasibility of generating BBC organoids representing various molecular types, accurately replicating significant markers and driver mutations of the originating tumor. Consequently, organoids serve as a valuable in vitro model for exploring treatment strategies and elucidating the underlying mechanisms of BBC.

Abstract Aim To provide a systematic review of the qualitative literature on self‐reported barriers to self‐management in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Design Systematic review. Methods This systematic review followed the Joanna Briggs Institute meta‐aggregation approach and was evaluated using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research. Qualitative studies on the barriers to self‐management among GDM pregnancy survivors conducted until 17 May 2022, were searched. Results A total of 30 studies were included, of which seven were in Chinese and 23 were in English, and 10 findings resulted in three themes: (a) Knowledge and belief, (b) Skills and abilities and (c) Environment and social support. By summarizing the self‐reported barriers to self‐management in patients with GDM and recommends precise interventions for these barriers, thereby saving health resources and helping to increase their willingness and ability to engage in self‐management.

Visceral white spot disease (VWND) caused by Pseudomonas plecoglossicida poses a major threat to the sustainable development of large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) aquaculture. Genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) and RNA-seq research indicated that LcCD82a play an important role in resistance to visceral white spot disease in L. crocea, but the molecular mechanism of LcCD82a response to P. plecoglossicida infection is still unclear. In this study, we cloned and validated the Open Reading Frame (ORF) sequence of LcCD82a and explored the expression profile of LcCD82a in various tissues of L.crocea. In addition, two different transcript variants (LcCD82a-L and LcCD82a-S) of LcCD82a were identified that exhibit alternative splicing patterns after P. plecoglossicida infection, which may be closely related to the immune regulation during pathogenetic process of VWND. In order to explore the function of LcCD82a, we purified the recombinant protein of LcCD82a-L and LcCD82a-S. The bacterial agglutination and apoptosis function analysis showed that LcCD82a may involve in extracellular bacterial recognition, agglutination, and at the same time participate in the process of antigen presentation and induction of cell apoptosis. Collectively, our studies demonstrate that LcCD82a plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis and antimicrobial immunity.

Introduction Hysterectomy is the most common surgical procedure in the field of gynaecology. The traditional multiport laparoscopy, transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (TU-LESS) and transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) hysterectomy approaches have been implemented to varying degrees in clinical practice. At present, although their feasibility has been proven, there are no large randomised controlled studies on postoperative rehabilitation. This study aims to evaluate postoperative recovery and assess the safety and effectiveness of these three surgical approaches for total laparoscopic hysterectomy.Method and analysis This is a multicentre, randomised, single-blind, three-arm, parallel-group, interventional clinical trial. Recruitment will be carried out in five tertiary hospitals in China. Patients diagnosed with benign uterine disease or precancerous lesions will be assigned to the vNOTES group, TU-LESS group and conventional laparoscopy group at a 1:1:1 ratio. The achievement rate of comprehensive indices of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) within 24 hours postoperatively will be considered the primary outcome (the comprehensive indicators of ERAS include fluid intake, passing flatus, urination after catheter removal, ambulation and a Visual Analogue Scale score ≤3.) This study will use a non-inferiority test, with a power (1−ß) of 80% and a margin of −0.15, at a one-sided α of 0.0125. The sample size will be 480 patients (including an assumed 15% dropout rate), calculated according to the primary outcome.Ethics and dissemination This study was approved on 25 April 2022 by the Medical Ethics Committee of West China Second University Hospital (2022(057)), Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. All participants will be required to provide informed consent before their participation in the study. BackgroundStudies have shown that the immune infiltration of tumor microenvironment is related to the prognosis of glioblastoma, which is characterized by high heterogeneity, high recurrence rate and low survival rate. To unravel the role of β1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase-9 (β3GNT9) in the progression of glioblastoma, this study identifies the value of β3GNT9 as a prognostic biomarker in glioblastoma, and investigates the relationship between β3GNT9 expression and glioblastoma immune infiltration, migration and invasionMethodsβ3GNT9 expression in glioblastoma was analyzed using the GEPIA database. The clinical features of glioblastoma were screened out from the TCGA database. The relationship between β3GNT9 expression and clinical features was analyzed. The relationship between β3GNT9 and the prognosis of glioblastoma was evaluated through univariate and multivariate COX regression analyses, and the survival analysis was conducted using the Kaplan-Meier method. Abstract Background PDZ-binding kinase/T-lymphokine-activated killer cell-derived protein kinase (PBK/TOPK) is a potential prognostic indicator for patients with breast cancer. The objective of the present study was to explore the relationship between PBK/TOPK expression and clinicopathological indicators as well as the survival of patients with breast cancer. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of PBK/TOPK in 202 cases of breast cancer tissues. The relationship between PBK/TOPK and clinicopathological parameters was evaluated using Spearman’s rank-order correlation. The difference in PBK/TOPK expression among different molecular types was analyzed with the chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to create a survival curve and the log rank test was used to analyze the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Prognostic correlation was assessed using univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Results Among 202 breast cancer samples, PBK/TOPK was expressed (“+” and “++”) in 182 samples (90.1%). In addition, the histological grade, TNM stages, lymph node metastasis, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), and Ki-67 were positively associated with PBK/TOPK expression. With regard to the molecular type, the expression of PBK/TOPK is different. The expression level of PBK/TOPK was negatively correlated with both the OS and DFS of breast cancer patients. The difference in the above results is meaningful (P < 0.05). Conclusions PBK/TOPK is overexpressed in breast cancer, and the expression is closely related to the clinicopathological characteristics of the disease. Breast cancer patients with high expression of PBK/TOPK have a poor prognosis. Therefore, healthcare providers can optimize breast cancer management using this indicator.

Abstract Patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) were described less extraverted and more neurotic. It remained unclear whether similar personality traits could be found in idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD), a prodromal stage of PD, and could predict phenoconversion to neurodegenerative disorders. We aimed to investigate the personality profile and its association with future neurodegenerative phenoconversion in iRBD patients. One hundred and eighty-five video-polysomnography confirmed iRBD patients and 91 age- and sex-matched controls underwent personality assessment using the NEO five-factor inventory, and 171 iRBD patients were followed up. Our results showed that iRBD was marginally negatively associated with extraverted personality trait (B = −0.28, 95% confidence interval (CI) = −0.55, −0.001). During a median follow-up of 5.9 years, 47 iRBD patients (27.5%) had phenoconversion. More neurotic (adjusted hazard ratio (HR) = 2.0, 95% CI = 1.3, 3.1) and less extraverted personality traits (adjusted HR = 0.53, 95% CI = 0.36, 0.77) were associated with an increased risk of phenoconversion in iRBD patients. Our findings suggest that personality profile may be a potential prodromal marker of iRBD.

Discovering hidden academic emotions by mining graduate students’ speeches in social networks has strong practical significance for the mental state discovery of graduate students.Design/methodology/approachThrough data collected from online academic forum, a text based BiGRU-Attention model was conducted to achieve academic emotion recognition and classification, and a keyword statistics and topic analysis was performed for topic discussion among graduate posts.FindingsFemale graduate students post more than male students, and graduates majoring in chemistry post the most. Using the BiGRU-Attention model to identify and classify academic emotions has a performance with precision, recall and F1 score of more than 95%, the category of PA (Positive Activating) has the best classification performance. Through the analysis of post topics and keywords, the academic emotions of graduates mainly come from academic pressure, interpersonal relationships and career related.OriginalityA BiGRU-Attention model based on deep learning method is proposed to combine classical academic emotion classification and categories to achieve a text academic emotion recognition method based on user generated content.

BackgroundExtreme labor pain has negative effects; pharmacologic analgesic modalities are effective but are accompanied by adverse effects. Virtual reality (VR) works as a distracting nonpharmacologic intervention for pain and anxiety relief; however, the effects of VR use in laboring women is unknown. ObjectiveOur study aimed to determine the safety and effectiveness of VR technology during labor and delivery and investigate whether it impacts labor and patient satisfaction. MethodsIn all, 7 databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, CINAHL, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wan-Fang Database) were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials of VR use in pregnancy and childbirth from the time of database construction until November 24, 2021. Two researchers extracted data and evaluated study quality using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool 2.0. Outcome measures were labor pain, anxiety, duration, satisfaction, and adverse events. Meta-analyses were performed where possible. ResultsA total of 12 studies with 1095 participants were included, of which 1 and 11 studies were rated as “Low risk” and “Some concerns” for risk of bias, respectively. Of the 12 studies, 11 reported labor pain, 7 reported labor anxiety, and 4 reported labor duration. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide, with high morbidity and mortality rates worldwide. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop more effective treatments for CRC patients. In recent years, there has been some success in the immunotherapy of tumors, and immunotherapy has been used in many solid tumors including CRC. To date, the clinical efficacy of immunotherapy for CRC is limited, so more effective immunotherapy methods need to be explored. In patients with CRC, the CC chemokine CCL5 plays a role in the development of CRC and the recruitment and activation of immune cells, suggesting that it has potential for immunotherapy. This review mainly introduces the latest advances in the study of CCL5 acting as a marker of CRC and related mechanisms of immunotherapy, as well as the latest understanding of how CCL5 is involved in the invasion and development of CRC.

IntroductionTo compare efficacy and safety of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) with medical treatments for women with heavy menstrual bleeding.Materials and methodsWe searched PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang databases for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in November 2021. All meta-analyses were performed using the random-effects model. PROSPERO registration number: CRD42021295379.ResultsA total of trials (with 14 references) reporting on 1,677 women were included in this systematic review. The majority of the included RCTs were rated with low-to-unclear risk of bias in selection, detection, attrition, reporting, and other bias. All RCTs were rated as high risk in performance bias because blinding was difficult to ensure in the compared groups. Results of meta-analyses revealed that the number of clinical responders was greater in the LNG-IUS group than that in the medical treatments group at both 6-month (steroidal: five RCTs; n = 490; risk ratio [RR]: 1.72 [1.13, 2.62]; I2 = 92%; nonsteroidal: one RCT; n = 42; RR: 2.34 [1.31, 4.19]) and 12-month (steroidal: three RCTs; n = 261; RR: 1.31 [1.01, 1.71]; I2 = 74%) endpoints, with no clear differences on number of dropouts, and the incidence of adverse events.ConclusionEvidence indicates that LNG-IUS is superior to the medical treatments in short-term and medium-term clinical responses, blood loss control, compliance, and satisfaction. ObjectiveTo evaluate the safety, walking efficiency, physiological cost, don and doff time cost, and user satisfaction of Ai-robot.DesignProspective, multi-center, and cross-over trial.SubjectsParaplegic subjects (n = 40) with T6–L2 level spinal cord injury.MethodsSubjects who could walk independently using Aiwalker, Ailegs, and hip knee ankle foot orthosis (HKAFO) for 6 min within 30 days of training underwent 10 sets of tests. In each set, they completed three 6-min walk test (6MWT) sessions using the three aids in random order.ResultsSkin lesions, pressure sores, and fractures, were the main adverse events, likely due to a lack of experience in using exoskeleton systems. The average 6MWT distances of the Aiwalker, Ailegs, and HKAFO groups were 134.20 ± 18.74, 79.71 ± 18.06, and 48.31 ± 19.87 m, respectively. The average heart rate increases in the Aiwalker (4.21 ± 8.20%) and Ailegs (41.81 ± 23.47%) groups were both significantly lower than that in the HKAFO group (62.33 ± 28.32%) (both p < 0.001). The average donning/doffing time costs for Ailegs and Aiwalker were significantly shorter than that of HKAFO (both p < 0.001). Satisfaction was higher in the Ailegs and Aiwalker groups (both p < 0.001).ConclusionSubjects with paraplegia below T6 level were able to ambulate safely and efficiently with Ai-robot. The use of Ai-robot should be learned under the guidance of experienced medical personnel.

BackgroundNowadays, lymphadenectomy could be performed by the transperitoneal or extraperitoneal approach. Nevertheless, each approach has its own advantages and disadvantages. Under these circumstances, we developed a transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site (TU-LESS) extraperitoneal approach for lymphadenectomy. In this research, the primary goal is to demonstrate the feasibility of the novel approach in systematic lymphadenectomy and present the surgical process step-by-step.MethodsBetween May 2020 and June 2021, patients who had the indications of systematic lymphadenectomy underwent lymphadenectomy via the TU-LESS extraperitoneal approach. This new approach was described in detail, and the clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes were collected and analyzed.ResultsEight patients with gynecological carcinoma were included in the research, including four with high-risk endometrial cancer and four with early-stage ovarian cancer. The TU-LESS extraperitoneal approach for pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy was successfully performed in all patients without conversion. In all, a median of 26.5 pelvic lymph nodes (range 18–35) and 18.0 para-aortic lymph nodes (range 7–43) were retrieved. There was a median of 166.5 min of surgical time (range 123–205). Patients had speedy recoveries without complications. All patients had positive pain responses after surgery, as well as satisfactory cosmetic and body image outcomes.ConclusionOur initial experience showed that it is feasible to perform systematic lymphadenectomy with the TU-LESS extraperitoneal approach. And this new approach may provide a new measure or a beneficial supplement for lymphadenectomy in gynecologic cancer.

BackgroundAttention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurobehavioral disorder in childhood. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is widely distributed in the central nervous system and plays an important role in neural development. Despite several previous studies have examined the association between the Val66Met polymorphism BDNF and ADHD, the results are conflicting.ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the association between Val66Met polymorphism and ADHD in case-control and transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) studies using a meta-analysis.MethodsKeywords “rs6265” or “Val66Met” and “Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder” were used to search in the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases before April 2021. Genotype data were extracted to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).ResultsFifteen studies, comprising of 8,692 samples (containing 4,364 cases, 4,328 controls) and 1,578 families were included and results demonstrated that rs6265 was not associated with susceptibility to ADHD (OR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.87–1.04, P = 0.291). Stratified analyses by study design, ethnicity, and sample size further supported that rs6265 was not associated with ADHD.ConclusionThe present study shows that the polymorphism of the BDNF Val66Met gene is not associated with susceptibility to ADHD.

Various phthalonitrile-based resins were prepared and their copper clad laminates were fabricated in this work. The curing behaviors and mechanisms were investigated by Dynamic rheological analysis (DRA) and in-situ FTIR. Results indicated that all phthalonitrile-based resins possessed wide process temperature windows and exhibit good processability. However, phthalonitrile-based resins resulted to various final crosslinking network in the presence of various catalyst/curing agents. Phthalonitrile-based copper clad laminates (CCL) were fabricated with hot-press mold technology. Mechanical properties of the CCL including flexural strength/modulus and peel strength were discussed, accompanied by the investigation of fractural surface of the laminates. Glass transition temperatures of the laminates were studied by both Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) and Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). Then, fractural surface of fiber-reinforced composite laminates was investigated by Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Micro slicing image (MSI). Results confirmed the satisfactory interfacial adhesion between resin matrices and fibers, which resulted to excellent mechanical properties of composite laminates. Then, dielectric properties of various composite laminates were investigated to evaluate their applications in the field of PCB substrates. Moreover, final dielectric properties of various phthalonitrile-based composites were discussed based on the transformation of molecular structures according to the polymerization mechanisms.

We aimed to explore whether motor function and activities of daily life (ADL) could be improved with the application of visual deprivation in two patients with Pusher syndrome complicated by hemispatial neglect after right basal ganglia stroke. We assessed two stroke patients suffering from severe motor disturbances, both tilting heavily to the left, with diagnoses of Pusher syndrome and left hemispatial neglect. Vision in the left eye was deprived using patches during clinical rehabilitation. Motor function promotion was confirmed using the Burke Lateropulsion Scale (BLS), Fugl–Meyer Balance Scale (FMBS), and Holden grade (HG), while the Barthel index (BI) assessed ADL immediately and 1 week after intervention. Both patients regained standing balance immediately using visual deprivation, as well as walking ability, although both scored 0 on the FMBS and HG. After 1 week of treatment, one patient increased to 11 and 3 on the FMBS and HG, respectively, while the BLS score decreased from 12 to 2, and the ADL increased from 23 to 70. The other patient demonstrated increases to 10 and 3 on the FMBS and HG, respectively, with the BLS decreasing from 13 to 3, and the ADL increasing from 25 to 60. Therefore, in the rehabilitation treatment of Pusher syndrome complicated by hemispatial neglect due to basal ganglia stroke, visual deprivation can significantly improve motor function and shorten the treatment course.

Background: University students who are exposed to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) could be mentally distressed. We aimed to evaluate the pattern and risk factors of mental health and suicidal behavior among students who experienced long-term school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Methods: This large-sample, cross-sectional, online survey was conducted from June 29, 2020, to July 18, 2020. Eleven thousand two hundred fifty four participants were recruited from 30 universities located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The prevalence of symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicidal behavior was evaluated using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, Insomnia Severity Index, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5, and questions about suicidal ideation and attempts, respectively. Logistic regression was used to explore risk factors for mental health problems and suicidal behavior.Results: The prevalence of mental health problems was 41.5% for depressive symptoms, 32.6% for anxiety symptoms, 35.0% for insomnia symptoms, 8.5% for PTSD symptoms, and 2.0% for suicidal behavior. Participants with high stress during the pandemic were at higher risk of symptoms of depression [adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 1.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.43–1.95, p < 0.01), anxiety (adjusted OR = 1.90, 95% CI = 1.63–2.23, p < 0.01), insomnia (adjusted OR = 1.64, 95% CI = 1.44–1.87, p < 0.01), PTSD (adjusted OR = 1.71, 95% CI = 1.38–2.11, p < 0.01) and suicidal behavior (adjusted OR = 3.51, 95% CI = 2.28–5.40, p < 0.01). Distant relationship with parents, changes in lifestyle and alcohol use during the pandemic were associated with higher risk of mental health symptoms and suicidal behavior, whereas regular physical exercise reduced the risk of mental health problems.Conclusions: The psychological symptoms and suicidal behavior were relatively high among students who attended university in Wuhan, China after 6 months of the COVID-19 outbreak in China. Comprehensive mental health services and suicide prevention strategies are essential for university students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Data were collected from 896 participants in three Chinese cities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to varying degrees through an online survey platform. A conditional process model was then proposed for the impact of optimistic bias on self-protection behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of social norms. Statistical analysis demonstrates that optimistic bias has a negative impact on self-protection behaviors through message acceptance. Perceived social norms moderate this relationship in the following ways: (1) The higher the perceptions of social norms, the smaller the negative impact of optimistic bias on message acceptance, and the smaller the positive impact of message acceptance on self-protection behaviors. (2) Within a certain range, the higher the perceptions of social norms, the smaller the negative impact, both direct and indirect, of optimistic bias on self-protection behaviors. (3) The direct and indirect effects of optimistic bias on self-protection behaviors become insignificant when perceptions of social norms are very strong. Comparing the data of the three cities shows that higher risk is associated with a stronger role of social norms in moderating the relationship between optimistic bias and self-protection behaviors. The above results suggest that there may be both internal (optimistic bias) and external (social norms) reference points in individual decision-making regarding health behaviors. The theoretical and practical significance of the dual reference points are discussed.

Public bus in cities brings many conveniences for citizens due to its characteristics of timely arriving and fast spread. However, as the number of selected lines increases, the current same price for all passengers in different riding path couldn't make the bus industry development step further. It brings some concerns. The first one is that same price for different people without considering customers' riding distance and riding time may make some passengers feel unfair. The second one is that same price couldn't help the bus company get profits from the customers who are willing to pay more for the distance by this transportation. For solving these problems and helping the public bus develop well, this paper constructs a pricing model for scientifically setting the bus price for different customers in different stage by considering the personalized characteristics of passengers and their route path and waiting time. In the experiment part, this paper adopts the public bus simulation operating data to demonstrate the superiority of the present model. The results show that the devised pricing model for the public bus could help the company get more profits and keep the customers.

Due to the differences in radiation and geometric characteristics of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, there is still a huge challenge for accurate matching. In this paper, we propose a patch-matching network (PM-Net) to improve the matching performance of optical and SAR images. First, a multi-level keypoints detector (MKD) with fused high-level and low-level features is presented to extract more robust keypoints from optical and SAR images. Second, we use a two-channel network structure to improve the image patch matching performance. Benefiting from this design, the proposed method can directly learn the similarity between optical and SAR image patches without manually designing features and descriptors. Finally, the MKD and two-channel net-work are trained separately on GL3D and QXS-SAROPT data sets, and the PM-Net is tested on multiple pairs of optical and SAR images. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms four advanced image matching networks on qualitative and quantitative assessments. The quantitative experiment results show that using our method correct matching points numbers are increased by more than 1.15 times, the value of F1-measure is raised by an average of 7.4% and the root mean squared error (RMSE) is reduced by more than 15.3%. The advantages of MKD and the two-channel network are also verified through ablation experiments.

The matching problem for heterologous remote sensing images can be simplified to the matching problem for pseudo homologous remote sensing images via image translation to improve the matching performance. Among such applications, the translation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical images is the current focus of research. However, the existing methods for SAR-to-optical translation have two main drawbacks. First, single generators usually sacrifice either structure or texture features to balance the model performance and complexity, which often results in textural or structural distortion; second, due to large nonlinear radiation distortions (NRDs) in SAR images, there are still visual differences between the pseudo-optical images generated by current generative adversarial networks (GANs) and real optical images. Therefore, we propose a dual-generator translation network for fusing structure and texture features. On the one hand, the proposed network has dual generators, a texture generator, and a structure generator, with good cross-coupling to obtain high-accuracy structure and texture features; on the other hand, frequency-domain and spatial-domain loss functions are introduced to reduce the differences between pseudo-optical images and real optical images. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on publicly available optical and SAR datasets. Our method improves the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) by 21.0%, the chromatic feature similarity (FSIMc) by 6.9%, and the structural similarity (SSIM) by 161.7% in terms of the average metric values on all test images compared with the next best results. In addition, we present a before-and-after translation comparison experiment to show that our method improves the average keypoint repeatability by approximately 111.7% and the matching accuracy by approximately 5.25%.

Poly (arylene ether nitrile) (PEN) is a kind of high-performance engineering plastic and their properties can be tuned by the copolymerization of various structural diphenols and dichloro (fluoro)-benzonitrile. In this work, a series of phenolphthalein and bisphenol AF based PEN (PP/BPAF-PEN) copolymers were designed and synthesized. Structures, molar weights, mechanical and thermal properties were studied. Results showed that PP/BPAF-PEN copolymers were successfully synthesized and exhibited good compatibility, outstanding thermal and mechanical properties. Besides, PP/BPAF-PEN exhibited excellent Tg up to 260 °C (DSC), tensile strength of 120 MPa, high Td5% and char yields (>70%). With incorporation of –CF3 into molecular chains, dielectric constant of PP-PEN (3.41 at 1 MHz) was decreased to 3.05 of PP/BPAF-PEN and dielectric loss was around 0.01. Hence, the obtained PP/BPAF-PEN copolymers possessing excellent properties could be applied as the candidates in flexible printed circuit (FPC) substrate.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to medical education systems and medical students. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on medical career and specialty choices among medical students. An online cross-sectional survey of Chinese medical students was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic from February to April 2020. The students’ willingness to be a doctor before and after the COVID-19 pandemic and changed willingness to specialize in respiratory medicine and infectious diseases were investigated. Multiple linear regression and binary logistic regression was used to explore factors that were associated with changes of willingness. A total of 1,837 medical students, including 1,227 females (66.8%), with a median age of 21.0 years, were recruited. Of the participants, 10.6% and 6.9% showed increased and decreased willingness to be a doctor after the COVID-19 outbreak, respectively. Moreover, 11.7% showed increased willingness and 9.5% showed decreased willingness to major in respiratory medicine and infectious diseases. Students with younger age, lower household income, fewer depressive symptoms, less exposure to negative pandemic information and more satisfaction with their own major after the pandemic were associated with increased willingness to be a doctor. Students who engaged in regular exercise, were males and undergraduate level, were interested in medicine, paid more attention to positive information, were satisfied with their majors, and had increased willingness to be a doctor after the pandemic were more likely to choose to specialize in respiratory medicine and infectious disease. However, the severity of anxiety symptoms was associated with decreased willingness to work in the specialties of respiratory medicine and infectious diseases. Psychological problems and professional satisfaction appear to be independent factors that affect medial career and specialty choices. The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical students require further research.

The wide spread of rumor is undoubtedly harmful to social stability; we should try to lower the effect of rumor on society. Therefore, it is reasonable to put forward the rumor control strategy on the basis of the study of the law of rumor propagation. Firstly, the ISTR model of rumor is established by including influencing factors of true information spreader and social reinforcement. And by using the next generation matrix method, the basic reproduction number of rumor is obtained. Then, in order to minimize the adverse effects of rumors, through introducing two control strategies of scientific knowledge popularization and refutation of rumors, the optimal control problem is established. And through using Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle, the optimal solution of the rumor propagation model is solved. Finally, through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, some results can be obtained. The results show that adding true information spreaders into the rumor model can effectively control the rumor propagation, and social reinforcement plays a significance role in rumor. The results also prove that these two control strategies can effectively inhibit the propagation of rumors. With the addition of control strategies, the number of true information spreaders increases, while the number of rumor spreaders decreases.

OBJECTIVE: This meta-analysis was performed to investigate hyperlipidemia in patients with carcinoma treated with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)/vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) inhibitors. METHODS: We searched for eligible phase II and III studies using PubMed and Embase databases. We then summarized reported occurrences of hyperlipidemia in patients with different cancers. Relative risk ratios (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by Revman 5 software in meta-analysis. RESULTS: Eleven trials (4760 subjects) were included in this meta-analysis. Overall, VEGF/VEGFR inhibitors had similar incidence of hypertriglyceridemia (RR = 0.56, 95% CI = 0.24%-1.32%, P = .19), hypercholesterolemia (RR = 1.15, 95% CI = 0.42%-3.16%, P = .78), and LDL elevation (RR = 4.58, 95% CI = 0.80%-26.25%, P = .09) than control drugs, under high heterogeneity. Moreover, subgroup analyses found VEGF/VEGFR inhibitors had higher incidence of hypertriglyceridemia (RR = 1.86, 95% CI = 1.37%-2.52%, P < .001) and hypercholesterolemia (RR = 2.95, 95% CI = 2.02%-4.30%, P = .006) than blank control or placebo control drugs (placebo-controlled-group), although with lower incidence of hypertriglyceridemia (RR = 0.29, 95% CI = 0.12%-0.69%, P < .001) and hypercholesterolemia (RR = 0.39, 95% CI = 0.28%-0.56%, P < .001) than positive control drugs (positive-controlled-groups). CONCLUSION: The use of VEGF/VEGFR inhibitors, especially the multitargeted VEGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKIs), was associated with higher risk of hyperlipidemia than the use of placebo, but this risk was less than that associated with mTOR or FGFR inhibitors. It indicated that clinicians need to pay close attention to the occurrence of hyperlipidemia in VEGFR-TKIs therapies.

Aims: To examine the associations of plasma copper concentrations and superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) polymorphisms as well as their gene-environment interaction with newly diagnosed impaired glucose regulation (IGR) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). Methods: We performed a large case-control study in 2520 Chinese Han subjects: 1004 newly diagnosed T2D patients, 512 newly diagnosed IGR patients and 1004 individuals with normal glucose tolerance. Recently the role of the orexin system in the learning and memory, especially orexin A, which could enhance fear memory through regulating the activity of amygdala, has drawn considerable attention. However, the relationship between orexin A and extinction memory remains unclear. To investigate the effect of orexin A on extinction memory in humans, we recruited 43 male subjects and divided them into a recent group and remote group. After acquiring Pavlovian fear conditioning, individuals in recent group experienced fear extinction 24 h after acquisition, and remote group underwent extinction 2 weeks later. Meanwhile, plasma orexin A levels before extinction were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Both groups received memory test 24 h after fear extinction. The results showed that both recent and remote groups successfully acquired fear conditioning and had spontaneous recovery at test. In particular, the correlational analysis indicated that orexin A levels before extinction were negatively associated with fear responses during test only in recent group, but not in remote group. Moreover, individuals with high orexin A levels still kept low fear responses after extinction in recent group by subgroup analyses. The results suggest that orexin A could influence the retention of recent fear memory extinction, without affecting remote fear extinction. These findings remind us the orexin system can be a potential treatment target for fear-related disorders, and the mechanisms of recent and remote fear extinction may be different.

The purpose of this study was to develop a reservoir-type transdermal delivery system for isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN). The developed patch consisted of five layers from bottom to top, namely, a temporary liner, an adhesive layer, a rate-controlling membrane, a reservoir and a backing. The effects of chemical penetration enhancers, reservoir materials and rate-controlling membranes on the release behaviour of ISDN from the transdermal patch were studied, and the in vitro release of ISDN from the developed patch was studied and compared with the commercially available ISDN patch. The results showed that there was no significant difference in permeation rates between the developed reservoir-type patch and the commercially available ISDN patch (p> 0.05). Moreover, the cumulative release ratio of the commercially available ISDN patch in 48 h was up to 89.8%, whereas the developed patch was only 34.9%, which meant the sustained release time of the developed patch was much longer than the commercially available ISDN patch, and would promote the satisfaction of the patient.

Using analogues of some marine steroidal oximes as precursors, a series of aza-B-homocholestane derivatives possessing different substituted groups at the 3-position of the steroidal nucleus were synthesized. Their biological activity against cancer cell proliferation was determined with multiple cancer cell lines. Aza-B-homocholestane derivatives possessing 3-hydroxyl, 3-hydroximino and 3-thiosemicarbazone groups displayed remarkable cytotoxicity to cancer cells via apoptosis inducing mechanism. Compounds 5, 10, 12, 15 and 18 exhibited better potency to inhibit cancer cell proliferation. In addition, compound 15 was further evaluated with three dimensional (3D) multicellular spheroids assay to determine its potency against spheroid growth. The structure-activity relationship (SAR) generated in the studies is valuable for the design of novel chemotherapeutic agents.

Benzoxazine containing fluorinated aromatic ether nitrile linkage (FAEN-Bz) had been synthesized from 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile, 4,4’-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenol (bisphenol AF), 3-Aminophenol, formaldehyde, phenol by condensation polymerization and Mannich ring-forming reaction. Structures of the monomer were verified by Proton NMR spectrum (1H-NMR) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Curing behaviors and curing kinetics of designed monomers were investigated and discussed. The activation energy was calculated and possible polymerization mechanisms were also proposed. Then, properties of cured polymers including crosslinking degrees, thermal decomposition, surface wettability and energy, and dielectric properties were studied and discussed. Additionally, programmed integral decomposition temperature (IPDT) was also used to evaluate the thermal stability of final polymers. Results indicated that the incorporation of benzoxazine and nitrile resulted in increased thermal stability and char yields. Moreover, the surface wettability and dielectric properties of poly(FAEN-Bz) can be easily controlled by tuning the curing temperatures and time.

Epoxy/cyanate resin matrix composites (AG80/CE) with improved thermal conductivity and mechanical properties were obtained with synergetic enhancement with functional carbon nanotubes (f-CNTs) and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN). AG80/CE performed as polymeric matrix and h-BN as conductivity filler which formed the main thermal conductivity channels. Small amounts of f-CNTs were introduced to repair defects in conductivity channels and networks. To confirm the synergetic enhancements, the thermal conductivity was investigated and analyzed with Agari’s model. Results indicated that with introduction of 0.5 wt% f-CNTs, the thermal conductivity coefficient (ƛ) increased to 0.745 W/mk, which is 1.38 times that of composites with just h-BN. Furthermore, the flexural strength and modulus of composites with 0.5 wt% f-CNTs were 85 MPa and 3.5 GPa. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of composites with 0.4 wt% was 285 °C and the initial decomposition temperature (T5%) was 385 °C, indicating outstanding thermal stability. The obtained h-BN/f-CNTs reinforced AG80/CE composites present great potential for packaging continuous integration and miniaturization of microelectronic devices.

The aim of this study was to compare the impact of whole milk supplementation on gut microbiota and cardiometabolic biomarkers between lactose malabsorbers (LM) and absorbers (LA). We performed a pair-wise intervention study of 31 LM and 31 LA, 1:1 matched by age, sex, body mass index, and daily dairy intake. Subjects were required to add 250 mL/day whole milk for four weeks in their routine diet. At the beginning and the end of the intervention period, we collected data on gut microbiota and cardiometabolic biomarkers. Whole milk supplementation significantly increased Actinobacteria (P < 0.01), Bifidobacterium (P < 0.01), Anaerostipe (P < 0.01), and Blautia (P = 0.04), and decreased Megamonas (P = 0.04) in LM, but not LA. Microbial richness and diversity were not affected. The fecal levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) remained stable throughout the study. Body fat mass (P < 0.01) and body fat percentage (P < 0.01) reduced in both groups, but the changes did not differ between groups. No significant differences in other cardiometabolic markers were found between LM and LA. When compared with LA, whole milk supplementation could alter the intestinal microbiota composition in LM, without significant changes in fecal SCFAs and cardiometabolic biomarkers.
