4. Effect of Residual Cuts on Deactivation of Hierarchical Y Zeolite-Based Catalysts during Co-Processing of Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO) with Atmospheric Residue (ATR).

Abstract

The influence of residual cuts on the deactivation of hierarchical Y zeolite-based catalysts during the co-processing of vacuum gas oil (VGO) with atmospheric residue (ATR) was investigated. The experiments were conducted in a laboratory-scale MAT-type reactor. The conversion of VGO, ATR, and their 70:30 (mass basis) mixture was examined using two composite catalysts: Cat.Y.0.00 and Cat.Y.0.20. The operating conditions closely resembled those of the commercial catalytic cracking process (550 °C and contact times of 10 to 50 s). When ATR was processed individually, the conversion remained below 50 wt%. However, significant improvements in conversion rates were achieved and catalyst deactivation was mitigated when ATR was co-processed with VGO. Notably, the BET surface area and average mesopore volume were adversely impacted by ATR, which also led to the accumulation of high levels of metals and nitrogen on the spent catalyst, detrimentally affecting its acidic and structural properties. Moreover, substantial coke deposition occurred during ATR cracking. The soluble and insoluble coke analysis revealed H/C ratio values of up to 0.36, indicative of polycondensed coke structures with more than ten aromatic rings. The nature of the coke was confirmed through TPO and FTIR analyses. Interestingly, the CatY.0.20 catalyst exhibited less activity loss, retaining superior acid and structural properties. Co-processing Colombian atmospheric residue with ATR loadings of 30 wt% (higher than the typical 20 wt%) in catalysts formulated with hierarchical zeolites presents a promising alternative for commercial applications. 6. Hierarchical Y Zeolite-Based Catalysts for VGO Cracking: Impact of Carbonaceous Species on Catalyst Acidity and Specific Surface Area.

Abstract

The performance of catalysts prepared from hierarchical Y zeolites has been studied during the conversion of vacuum gas oil (VGO) into higher-value products. Two different catalysts have been studied: CatY.0.00 was obtained from the standard zeolite (Y-0.00-M: without alkaline treatment) and CatY.0.20 was prepared from the desilicated zeolite (Y-0-20-M: treated with 0.20 M NaOH). The cracking tests were carried out in a microactivity test (MAT) unit with a fixed-bed reactor at 550 ◦C in the 20–50 s reaction time range, with a catalyst mass of 3 g and a mass flow rate of VGO of 2.0 g/min. The products obtained were grouped according to their boiling point range in dry gas (DG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, and coke. The results showed a greater conversion and selectivity to gasoline with the CatY.0.20 catalyst, along with improved quality (RON) of the C5–C12 cut. Conversely, the CatY.0.00 catalyst (obtained from the Y-0.00-M zeolite) showed greater selectivity to gases (DG and LPG), attributable to the electronic confinement effect within the microporous channels of the zeolite. The nature of coke has been studied using different analysis techniques and the impact on the catalysts by comparing the properties of the fresh and deactivated catalysts. The coke deposited on the catalyst surfaces was responsible for the loss of activity; however, the CatY.0.20 catalyst showed greater resistance to deactivation by coke, despite showing the highest selectivity. Given that the reaction occurs in the acid sites of the zeolite and not in the matrix, the increased degree of mesoporosity of the zeolite in the CatY.0.20 catalyst facilitated the outward diffusion of products from the zeolitic channels to the matrix, thereby preserving greater activity [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The reaction of the H2salophen ligand, 2,2′-((1E,1′E)-(1,2-phenylenebis(azanylylidene))bis (methanylylidene))diphenol, with one molar equivalent of Si(NCS)4, MeSi(NCS)3 (13), or HMeSi(NCS)2 afforded neutral hexacoordinate silicon complexes, which have an-NCS bi-functionality (complex 1) and mono-functionality (complex 14). The reaction of Si(NCS)4 with the H2salophen-type ligand1,1′-((1E,1′E)-(1,2-phenylenebis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene)) bis(naphthalen-2-ol) (H2Noph), afforded the hexacoordinate silicon complex 15, which has an-NCS bi-functionality. Single-crystal X-ray structural and elemental analyses were used to characterize and confirm the structure of the starting material 13 and complexes 1, 14, and 15. The complexes were characterized in solution by 1H, 13C, and silicon-29 nuclear magnetic resonance (29Si NMR) and in the solid state by 29Si cross-polarization/magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) NMR. Because of the poor solubility of complex 1, it was only possible to characterize it in the solid state by 13C and 29Si CP/MAS NMR and in solution by 1H NMR.

Abstract

This study outlines the investigation into how the compounds CO2, CO, and O2 interact with the active center of titanium (Ti) on the surface of MgCl2 and how these interactions impact the productivity of the Ziegler–Natta catalyst, ultimately influencing the thermal stability of the produced polypropylene. The calculations revealed that the adsorption energies of Ti-CO2-CO and O2 were −9.6, −12.5, and −2.32 Kcal/mol, respectively. Using the density functional theory in quantum calculations, the impacts of electronic properties and molecular structure on the adsorption of CO, O2, and CO2 on the Ziegler–Natta catalyst were thoroughly explored. Additionally, the Gibbs free energy and enthalpy of adsorption were examined. It was discovered that strong adsorption and a significant energy release (−16.2 kcal/mol) during CO adsorption could explain why this gas caused the most substantial reductions in the ZN catalyst productivity. These findings are supported by experimental tests showing that carbon monoxide has the most significant impact on the ZN catalyst productivity, followed by carbon dioxide, while oxygen exerts a less pronounced inhibitory effect. 14. A new Valorization Route of Petrochemical Wastewater: Recovery of Phenolic Derivatives and their Subsequent Application in a PP Matrix for the Improvement of their Durability in Multiple Applications

Abstract

Wastewater from industrial processes contains different compounds that can be of great use to improve its circularity. The potential of wastewater can be exploited by applying extraction techniques to obtain compounds of interest and recircu late them in the process. In this study, the residual water generated during the polypropylene deodorization process was evaluated. The residues of the additives used during the synthesis of the resin are extracted from these waters. With this recovery, contamination of water bodies is avoided and the circularity of the polymer production process is increased.Solid phase extraction and HPLC were used to recover the phenolic compound, obtaining a recovery of more than 95%. FTIR and DSC were applied to evaluate the purity of the extracted compound. Finally, the effectiveness of the phenolic compound was evaluated by applying it to the resin and evaluating its thermal stability by TGA, obtaining as a result, that the recovered additive improves the thermal properties of the material.

15. Characterization of the Morphological and Chemical Profile of Different Families of Microplastics in Samples of Breathable Air

Abstract

Microplastic (MP) contamination has become a problem of great interest to the community at large. The detection of these particles in different ecosystems and foods has been the subject of study. However, the focus of these investigations has been on the identification and quantification of PM by DSC and Pyr-GC/MS and not on how they are transported to reach the air we breathe. In this study, the values of morphological parameters for plastic particles in a range between 1 and 2000 µm, present in the breathable air of 20 neighborhoods in the city of Cartagena, Colombia, were obtained to determine the characteristics that make these particles airborne. The values of parameters were obtained, such as roundness, sphericity, curvature, and the convexity of the particle, as well as its compactness and size, which influence its transport through the air and its ability to be ingested and inhaled. The data obtained in this study allows for simulations and the analysis of the behavior of microplastics once in the environment to predict future settlements. The DSC showed us the melting temperatures of PP, PE, PET, and PS, the Pyr-GC/MS showed the fragmentation patterns, and the presence of these MPs in the samples was confirmed.

16. Furan as Impurity in Green Ethylene and Its Effects on the Productivity of Random Ethylene–Propylene Copolymer Synthesis and Its Thermal and Mechanical Properties

Abstract

The presence of impurities such as H2S, thiols, ketones, and permanent gases in propylene of fossil origin and their use in the polypropylene production process affect the efficiency of the synthesis and the mechanical properties of the polymer and generate millions of losses worldwide. This creates an urgent need to know the families of inhibitors and their concentration levels. This article uses ethylene green to synthesize an ethylene–propylene copolymer. It describes the impact of trace impurities of furan in ethylene green and how this furan influences the loss of properties such as thermal and mechanical properties of the random copolymer. For the development of the investigation, 12 runs were carried out, each in triplicate. The results show an evident influence of furan on the productivity of the Ziegler–Natta catalyst (ZN); productivity losses of 10, 20, and 41% were obtained for the copolymers synthesized with ethylene rich in 6, 12, and 25 ppm of furan, respectively. PP0 (without furan) did not present losses. Likewise, as the concentration of furan increased, it was observed that the melt flow index (MFI), thermal (TGA), and mechanical properties (tensile, bending, and impact) decreased significantly. Therefore, it can be affirmed that furan should be a substance to be controlled in the purification processes of green ethylene. © 2023 by the authors.

17. Identifying, Quantifying, and Recovering a Sorbitol-Type Petrochemical Additive in Industrial Wastewater and Its Subsequent Application in a Polymeric Matrix as a Nucleating Agent

Abstract

Currently, polypropylene (PP) is highlighted using sorbitol-based clarifying agents since these agents are high quality, low cost, and work as a barrier against moisture, which makes PP ideal for packaging food, beverages, and medical products, among others. The use of analytical methods capable of recovering these additives in wastewater streams and then reusing them in the PP clarification stage represents an innovative methodology that makes a substantial contribution to the circular economy of the PP production industry. In this study, a method of extraction and recovery of the Millad NX 8000 was developed. The additive was recovered using GC-MS and extracted with an activated carbon column plus glass fiber, using an injection molded sample, obtaining a recovery rate greater than 96%. TGA, DSC, and FTIR were used to evaluate the recovered additive’s glass transitions and purity. The thermal degradation of the recovered additive was found to be between 340 and 420 °C, with a melting temperature of 246 °C, adopting the same behavior as the pure additive. In FTIR, the characteristic absorption peak of Millad NX 8000 was observed at 1073 cm−1, which indicates the purity of the extracted compound. Therefore, this work develops a new additive recovery methodology with high purity to regulate the crystallization behavior and of PP. © 2023 by the authors.

18. Recovery of (Z)-13-Docosenamide from Industrial Wastewater and Its Application in the Production of Virgin Polypropylene to Improve the Coefficient of Friction in Film Type Applications

Abstract

Additives play an important role in the production of plastic materials through their application, in which the mechanical, thermal, and physical properties of polymers are improved, making them last longer and be more resistant. During the synthesis of polypropylene resins, the remains of additives that are not absorbed by the resin are removed in the purification stage and end up in the wastewater. In this article, the recovery of (Z)-13-docosenamide from the wastewater from the process, its purification, and its application in the process was carried out. For the extraction of the additive, solid phase extraction (SPE) was used, and to guarantee the purity of (Z)-13-docosenamide, techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), thermogravimetric (TG) coupled with a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used. The recovered erucamide was added to the PP between 0.05 and 0.3% w/w. The effects of the properties of the virgin polypropylene with the recovered additive were also evaluated to determine its effectiveness in improving the properties of the material by measuring the coefficient of friction (CoF) as well as the mechanical properties and wettability through atomic force microscopy (AFM) and the contact angle, respectively. It was discovered that using these techniques, it is possible to recover approximately 95% of the additive present in the water while keeping the material’s properties within the desired limits

27. Effects of Different Concentrations of Arsine on the Synthesis and Final Properties of Polypropylene

Abstract

This article studies the effects of arsine on the synthesis and thermal degradation of 4 sam ples of virgin polypropylene (PP-virgin) and proposes reaction mechanisms that allow understanding of its behaviour. Different points are monitored during the polypropylene synthesis to perform TGA, DSC, FT-IR, RDX, and MFI analyses later. The content of AsH3 in polypropylene varies between 0.05 and 4.73 ppm, and of arsenic in virgin PP residues between 0.001 and 4.32 ppm for PP0 and PP10, increasing in fluidity index from 3.0 to 24.51. The origin of thermo-oxidative degradation is explained by the reaction mechanisms of the Molecule AsH3 with the active titanium center of the ZN catalyst and the subsequent oxidation to form radical complexes. OO-AsH-TiCl4 -MgCl2 and (OO-as-OO)2 -TiCl4 -MgCl2 , which, by radical reactions, give rise to the formation of functional groups aldehyde, ketone, alcohol, carboxylic acid, CO, CO2 , PP-Polyol, PP-Polyether, and PP-Isopropylethers. These species caused the TG and DTG curves to increase degradation peaks in pp samples

28. Identification and Quantification of Microplastics in Effluents of Wastewater Treatment Plant by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)

Abstract

In this research, the presence of microplastics was detected through a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis of three wastewater treatment plants. One of these plants applied only a preliminary treatment stage while the others applied up to a secondary treatment stage to evaluate their effectiveness. The results showed the presence of polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which were classified as fragments, fibers or granules. During the evaluation of the plants, it was determined that the preliminary treatment did not remove more than 58% of the microplastics, while the plants applying up to a secondary treatment with activated sludge achieved microplastic removal effectiveness between 90% and 96.9%.

29. Characterization of Microplastics in Total Atmospheric Deposition Sampling from Areas Surrounding Industrial Complexes in Northwestern Colombia

Abstract

In this study, the total atmospheric deposition of microplastics in places near an industrial complex in Cartagena, Colombia is evaluated by taking samples at three points at different distances from the industrial zone. The samples obtained were treated to quantify and identify the type of plastic present, indicating the presence of polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, and polyethylene terephthalate. The values of microplastics obtained were related to the climatic conditions of the areas (wind and rainfall) to determine these effects on the transport of microplastics. Values of 9472 ± 702 MP were obtained at the point closest to the industrial area and 1455 ± 14 MP at the farthest point, within which a greater proportion were fibers. In this study, it was also possible to determine that the microplastics most affected by the wind were the fragments. © 2022 by the authors.

Abstract

The addition of polymers in construction is a new tendency and an important step toward the production of structures with better functional properties. This work investigates the addition of polyurea (PU) as a polymeric material in mortars. Polymer mortars were manufactured with the addition of polyurea retained in different sieves (T50 and T100) and different concentrations (2% and 5%). The characterization of the, polyurea (PU)control mortar (PU0%) and manufactured polyurea mortars (PU2%T50, PU5%T50, PU2%T100, and PU5%T100) was conducted by means of morphological analysis, SEM, XRF, TGA, and a compressive strength test of hydraulic mortars. The results show that mortars with polyurea retained in sieve 100 with a particle size of 150 µm exhibit better thermal behavior and a greater resistance to compression with a concentration of 5% polyurea with respect to the other samples. The present work reveals that polyurea retained in sieve 100 can be considered as a polymeric additive for mortars, indicating that it could be a candidate for applications such as construction. © 2022 by the authors. Abstract

Cobalt molybdenum carbide supported on activated carbon was synthesized and the effect of sulfiding in catalytic activity of the glycerol trioleate deoxygenation process (DOX) was evaluated. Prior to glyceryl trioleate deoxygenation reactions, the catalyst was reduced and sulfided with CS2/H2. CoMo/CA carbide was characterized by specific area (B.E.T), X-ray diffraction (DRX), elemental analysis (CHON-S), potentiometric titration with butylamine and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The surface area of the CoMo/CA carbide and the support were 246 m2/g and 881 m2/g, respectively. The XRD analysis verified the presence of the Co6Mo6C2 and metallic cobalt. XPS showed the presence at the surface of signals assignable to Mod+, Mo4+, Mo6+, Co2+, S2- and SO4 2-. The sulfided CoMo/CA carbide showed higher glyceryl trioleate deoxygenation activity than the no sulfided CoMo/CA carbide. The highest yield was obtained at 310 °C, 900 psi H2 and 2 h of reaction (conversion to 100%) and a higher selectivity to heptadecane (55%) and octadecane (45%), favoring the decarboxylation (HDCX) and decarbonylation (HDCn) than the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO). Abstract

Resumen En este trabajo se estudió el efecto de la carburación con CH4(20%Vol.)/H2 de heteropolioxometalatos tipos Anderson (NH4)4[NiMo6-xWxO24H6]•5H2O con relaciones atómicas 1:6:0 y 1:3:3 sobre la hidrodesulfuración de tiofeno. Los sólidos carburados se caracterizaron por DRX, propiedades texturales (ABET, Vp y Dp), FT-IR y análisis elemental (CHNO-S). DRX mostró señales de β-Mo2C, NiC, β-W2C y β-WC. Los materiales carburados presentaron isotermas de adsorción tipo IV y lazos de histéresis H2 y H3, con áreas específicas entre 3 y 6 m2/g y tamaño de poros entre 9 y 14 nm. El análisis FT-IR de los carburos solo presentaron las señales de Mo-O2 y O-H. El catalizador trimetálico fue más activo en hidrodesulfuración (HDS) de tiofeno que el bimetálico: NiMo3W3-C (30%) > NiMo6-C (23%), mientras la selectividad estuvo dirigida hacia la formación de 1,3 butadieno para NiMo3W3-C y, 1-buteno y cis-buteno para NiMo6-C. Abstract In this work-was studied the effect of the carburization with CH4(20%Vol.)/H2 of (NH4)4[NiMo6-xWxO24H6]•5H2O Anderson type polyoxometalates with (AR) atomic ratio = 1:6:0 and 1:3:3 on the thiophene hydrodesulfurization reaction. The carburized solids were characterized by XRD, textural properties (ABET, Vp y Dp), FT-IR and (CHNO-S) elemental analysis. XRD showed signals of β-Mo2C, NiC, β-W2C and β-WC. Carburized materials presented type IV isotherms and hysteresis loop H2 and H3, the specific surface area was between 3 and 6 m2/g, and pore size between 9 and 14 nm. The FT-IR analysis of carbides showed signals of Mo-O2 and O-H. The catalytic activity of trimetallic catalyst was higher than that of bimetallic catalyst: NiMo3W3-C (30%) > NiMo6-C (23%), while the selectivity was directed toward the formation of 1,3 butadiene by NiMo3W3-C and 1-butene and cis-butene by NiMo6-C.

RESUMEN Precursores catalíticos de polioxometalatos de FeMo, CoMo y NiMo tipo Anderson-Evans soportados sobre zeolita β en la hidrodesulfuración de tiofeno fue investigada. Los sólidos fueron caracterizados por análisis elemental (ICP plasma), área específica (SBET), difracción de rayos X (DRX) y espectroscopía infrarroja (FTIR). El soporte se impregnó con una solución acuosa del heteropolioxomolibdatos tipo Anderson-Evans de FeMo, CoMo y NiMo. El análisis elemental de Fe, Co, Ni y Mo dio resultados de acuerdo con la exactitud experimental de las relaciones atómicas nominales para cada precursor. La presencia de zeolita β, (NH4)3(FeMo6O24H6)•7H2O, (NH4)3(CoMo6O24H6)•7H2O y (NH4)4(NiMo6O24H6)•5H2O se verificó por DRX, mientras que el FTIR permitió asignar los estiramientos y flexiones de los grupos funcionales presentes en la estructura del heteropolioxomolibdato Anderson-Evans y la zeolita β. Los precursores catalíticos FeMo6/zeolita β, CoMo6/zeolita β y NiMo6/zeolita β mostraron mayor área específica (204-268 m2/g) que los heteropolioxomolibdatos tipo Anderson-Evans (1-3 m2/g). Los catalizadores provenientes de heteropolioxometalatos tipo Anderson-Evans de FeMo, CoMo y NiMo soportados en zeolita β presentaron mayor actividad HDS que los precursores no soportados (FeMo6/zeolita β y CoMo6/zeolita β), lo cual está asociado a la formación de mayor número de sitios activos. The solids were characterized by elemental analyses (ICP plasma), surface area (SBET), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The support was impregnated with an aqueous solution of Anderson-Evans type FeMo, CoMo and NiMo polyoxometalates. Elemental analyses for Fe, Co, Ni and Mo gave results for all compounds in agreement, within experimental accuracy, with the nominal atomic ratio for each precursor. The presence of β zeolite, (NH4)3(FeMo6O24H6)•7H2O, (NH4)3(CoMo6O24H6)•7H2O and (NH4)4(NiMo6O24H6)•5H2O was verified by XRD, whereas FTIR analysis could be assigned the stretching and bending of the functional groups present in the structure of Anderson-Evans polyoxomolibdate and β zeolite. FeMo6/ zeolita β, CoMo6/zeolita β and NiMo6/zeolita β catalytic precursors showed higher values of surface area (204-268 m2/g) than the Anderson-Evans type polyoxometalates (1-3 m2/g). The catalysts derived from β zeolite supported Anderson-Evans type FeMo, CoMo and NiMo polyoxometalates showed higher HDS activity than those obtained from precursors unsupported (FeMo6/zeolita β and CoMo6/zeolita β), which was associated with the formation of the largest number of active sites.

Abstract

RESUMEN El efecto del soporte modificado con cerio en precursores catalíticos de NiMo tipo Anderson sobre la hidrodesulfuración de tiofeno fue investigada. Los sólidos fueron caracterizados por área específica (SBET), difracción de rayos X (DRX) y espectroscopia infrarroja (FTIR). El soporte modificado con cerio se impregnó con una solución acuosa del heteropolioxomolibdato tipo Anderson de Ni. La presencia de (NH4)4[NiMo6O24H6]•5H2O y alúmina en fases gamma y gibbsita se verificó por DRX, mientras que el FTIR permitió asignar las características vibracionales de la estructura tipo Anderson, debido a los estiramientos y flexiones de los grupos funcionales presentes. Los soportes γ-Al2O3, γ-Al2O3-Ce y Ce/γ-Al2O3 mostraron mayor área específica (149-66 m2/g) que los precursores catalíticos NiMo6/γ-Al2O3, NiMo6/γ-Al2O3-Ce y NiMo6-Ce/γ-Al2O3 (76-36 m2/g). Los catalizadores provenientes de alúminas modificadas con cerio presentaron mayor actividad HDS que los obtenidos con alúmina no modificada, lo cual está asociado a la formación de mayor número de sitios activos. ABSTRACT The effect of the support modified with cerium in alumina supported Anderson type NiMo catalytic precursors on thiophene hydrodesulfurization (HDS) was investigated. The solids were characterized by surface area (SBET), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The support catalytic modified with cerium by one-pot and impregnation methods were impregnated with an aqueous solution of nickel Anderson type heteropolyoxomolybdate. The presence of (NH4)4[NiMo6O24H6]•5H2O and alumina gibbsite or gamma phases was verified by XRD, whereas FTIR analysis could be assigned to the characteristic vibrations of Anderson-type structure due to stretching and bending of the functional groups present. The γ-Al2O3, γ-Al2O3-Ce and Ce/γ-Al2O3 supports showed higher values of surface area (149-66 m2/g) than the NiMo6/γ-AL2O3, NiMo6/γ-Al2O3-Ce and NiMo6-Ce/γ-Al2O3 catalytic precursors (76-36 m2/g). The catalysts derived from cerium-modified alumina showed higher HDS activity than those obtained from unmodified alumina, which was associated with the formation of the largest number of active sites.

Abstract

Se sintetizaron heteropolioxometalatos tipo Anderson (NH4)4[NiMo6-xWxO24H6]·5H2O soportados sobre γ-Al3O2, utilizando el método de coprecipitación. Estos solidos fueron utilizados como precursores en la reacción de hidrodesulfuración (HDS) de tiofeno a 400°C. Los precursores catalíticos se caracterizaron por propiedades texturales (área específica (B.E.T) y, distribución del diámetro y volumen de poros), difracción de rayos X (DRX), espectroscopía infrarroja (FT-IR) y análisis elemental (CHON-S). Las áreas específicas estuvieron dentro del intervalo de 109 y 35 m²/g con una distribución del diámetro y volumen de poros de 8,9-9,6 nm y 0,11-0,34 cm³/g, respectivamente. El análisis por DRX mostró la presencia de NiWO4, (NH4)4[NiMo6O24H6]·5H2O y WO3. Los análisis FT-IR determinaron la obtención de la estructura tipo Anderson, debido a las distintas flexiones y estiramientos de los grupos funcionales presentes. El precursor NiMo6-O/Al fue el más activo en la HDS, con un porcentaje de conversión de 72,75% e incluso fue más activo que el catalizador comercial AERO. Los resultados de HDS revelaron que la actividad catalítica en HDS se incrementa en el orden: NiMo6-O/Al > AERO > NiMo3W3-O/Al > NiW6-O/Al. La selectividad catalítica de precursores y el catalizador comercial (AERO) estuvo dirigida hacia cis-buteno. Alumina supported (NH4)4[NiMo6-xWxO24H6]·5H2O Anderson type heteropolyoxometalates were synthesized by coprecipitation. These solids were used as precursors in the thiophene hydrodesulfurization catalytic at 400°C. The catalytic precursors were characterized by textural properties (BET specific surface area and, total pore volume and pore diameter distribution), X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR spectroscopy (FTIR) and S analysis (CHON-S). The specific surface area was between 109 and 35 m²/g with total pore volume and pore diameter distribution of 0,11-0,34 cm³/g and 8,9-9,6 nm, respectively. XRD showed the presence of NiWO4, (NH4)4[NiMo6O24H6]·5H2O and WO3. FTIR analysis can be assigned to the characteristic vibrations of Anderson-type structure, due to stretching and bending of the functional groups present. The NiMo6-O/Al precursor was the most active in the HDS, it had a conversion of 72,75% and was even more active than the AERO commercial catalyst. The results of HDS revealed that the catalytic activity increases as follows: NiMo6-O/Al > AERO > NiMo3W3-O/Al > NiW6-O/Al. The catalytic selectivity of precursors and commercial catalyst (AERO) was directed towards the cis-butene.
