Abstract Introduction Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained significant attention in dentistry due to its potential to revolutionize practice and improve patient outcomes. However, dentists’ views and attitudes toward technology can affect the application of AI. This perception and attitude can be affected by the personality traits of individuals. This study aims to evaluate the perceptions and attitudes of dentistry students toward AI. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted on dental students at Ordu University Faculty of Dentistry, involving a sample of 83 students. The study utilized the Big Five 50 Test to evaluate personality traits and a 5-point Likert scale to gather data on 20 statements regarding AI in dentistry. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics software, and a chi-square test was employed to assess the relationship between the personality traits of dental students and their attitudes towards artificial intelligence, as well as the relationship between the gender of dental students and their attitudes towards artificial intelligence. IntroductionWastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and drinking-water treatment plants (DWTPs) are critical for public health due to the potential risks posed by microorganisms that may persist after treatment. The aim of this study was to detect the microbiome profiles of waters from both DWTPs and WWTPs under the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI), identify the antimicrobial resistance profiles in all these facilities, and observe the differences in the microbiome between the inlet and outlet of different WWTPs.MethodsA total of 52 samples were examined, comprising 18 samples from DWTPs and 34 samples from WWTPs. All water samples underwent pre-isolation filtration. DNA isolation was conducted using filter material, followed by sequencing on a NovaSeq 6000 instrument. Kraken2 tools and R scripts were used for statistical analysis and data visualization.ResultsThe microbial metagenomic analysis identified 71 phyla, 113 classes, 217 orders, 480 families, and 1,282 genera across all samples. There were unclassified microbes (53.14% vs. 58.75%), Eukaryota (3.64% vs. 3.5%), Archaea (0.08% vs. 0.03%), bacteria (42% vs. 36.25%), and viruses (0.02% vs. 0.04%) in the raw water and ozonation unit outlet of DWTPs. The inlet and outlet of WWTPs showed unclassified microbes (52.68% vs. 59.62%), Eukaryota (0.6% vs. 1.72%), Archaea (0.26% vs. 0.15%), bacteria (46.43% vs. 38.43%), and viruses (0.05% vs. 0.04%). No statistically significant results were found in the analysis of raw waters collected from DWTPs and samples taken from the ozonation unit outlet—from the phylum level to the genus level (p > 0.05). The inlet and outlet points of WWTPs showed no statistically significant results from the phylum to species levels (p > 0.05). The most detected genera were Desulfobacter (4.82%) in preliminary WWTPs, Thauera (1.93%) in biological WWTPs, Pseudomonas (1.44%) in advanced biological WWTPs, Acidovorax (1.85%) in biological package WWTPs, and Pseudomonas (11.55%) in plant-based WWTPs. No antimicrobial resistance gene markers were detected in water samples from raw water inlets and ozonation unit outlets from DWTPs, membrane wastewater recovery plants, or ultraviolet (UV) recycling facilities. The ANT(3″), Erm, and Sul resistance gene markers were detected in all raw WWTPs samples.DiscussionThere were no significant microbial risk differentiation between biological WWTPs and advanced biological WWTPs. The data could serve as preliminary information for future research. More extensive studies are needed, with multiple sample tracking in these facilities and their feeding basins.

Background Higher cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) numbers in the tumor microenvironment (TME) predict pathologic complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and positive long-term outcomes in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). pCR to NAC is achieved only in 30–40% of patients. The combination of NAC with pembrolizumab increases the pCR rate but at the cost of immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Based on these considerations, we tested if systemic infusion of the chemokine modulatory regimen (CKM; selective toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist rintatolimod, interferon (IFN)-α2b, and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor celecoxib) regimen can be safely combined with NAC to enhance intratumoral CTL numbers and NAC effectiveness.Methods Phase I study NCT04081389 evaluated nine patients with early-stage TNBC who received 3 weeks of paclitaxel with CKM (dose-escalation of IFN-α2b), followed by 9 weeks of paclitaxel alone, dose-dense doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide, and surgery. Primary and secondary endpoints were safety and clinical efficacy, respectively.Results The combination treatment was well-tolerated with no dose-limiting toxicities or irAEs. 5/9 patients achieved pCR and one patient had microinvasive disease (ypTmic). We observed elevated IFN signature and uniform decreases in CTL numbers (average 8.3-fold) in the blood of all treated patients. This was accompanied by reciprocal uniform increases in CD8β (overall 5.9-fold), CD8α/FoxP3 (2.11-fold), and CCL5 (4.73-fold) transcripts in TME, particularly pronounced in patients with pCR. Multiplex immunohistochemistry revealed selectively increased numbers of CTL (but not regulatory T cells) in both the epithelial and stromal tumor compartments and early decreases in the numbers of αSMA+ vascular/stromal cells in the tumors of all pCR patients.Conclusions Combined paclitaxel/CKM regimen was safe, with desirable TME changes and preliminary indications of promising pCR+ypTmic of 66%, comparable to the combination of NAC with pembrolizumab.

The soluble solid content (SSC) in fruits significantly influences consumers' taste, aroma, and flavor preferences. It also plays a crucial role for farmers and wholesalers in determining the optimal harvest period for marketing. Dielectric spectroscopy, an innovative and non-invasive technique, has shown promise for various applications in the food and agriculture sectors. This study introduces an open-ended coaxial line probe measurement system to non-invasively determine the SSC of sweet cherries at different radio and microwave frequencies. Key parameters such as the dielectric constant (ε′), loss factor (ε′′), loss tangent (tan δ), and SSC of sweet cherries were measured across different harvest periods. The dielectric property frequency ranges were down-sampled from 300 MHz to 15 MHz. Using dielectric spectroscopy, we implemented predictive models: support vector regression (SVR) and multilayer perceptron (MLP), that demonstrated extremely low MAE and RMSE, with correlation coefficients (R) exceeding 0.97 for SVR and 0.96 for MLP. The down-sampled frequency ranges for dielectric properties yielded consistently high performance across all subsets, demonstrating comparable results. These findings suggest that a dielectric measurement system designed for SSC estimation using fewer frequencies could effectively reduce costs while maintaining accuracy.

Objective To evaluate both humoral and cellular immune responses to the COVID-19 messenger RNA (mRNA; BNT162b2) vaccine in patients with childhood-onset SLE (cSLE) compared with healthy controls and patient controls (kidney transplant (KTx) recipients).Methods This single-centre, cross-sectional and case–control study included 16 patients with cSLE, 19 healthy controls and 19 KTx recipients. Background and Aims: Serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block (SPSIPB) is a novel technique that can provide analgesia in the hemithorax, shoulder, and back of the neck. This study aimed to evaluate the post-operative analgesic effect of SPSIPB in patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Methods: It is a double-blind, randomised controlled trial. Twenty-four adult patients who underwent VATS via the uniportal technique were randomised into two groups: the SPSIPB group (n = 12) received SPSIPB along with intravenous patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) with tramadol, whereas the control group (n = 12) received only PCA with tramadol. At the end of the surgery, patients in the SPSIPB group received a unilateral SPSIPB under ultrasound guidance with the use of 30-mL bupivacaine 0.25%. The primary outcome was the numerical rating scale (NRS) scores of the patients. Secondary outcomes included the amount of tramadol and rescue analgesic (paracetamol) consumed by the patients, followed up for post-operative 24 hours. Categorical variables were compared using the Chi-Square Test. Mann-Whitney U Test was used to compare groups of variables that were not normally distributed. Results: The SPSIPB group had lower NRS values during post-operative 24 hours (P < 0.001). Mean (standard deviation) total tramadol consumption was 58.33 (26.23) mg in the SPSIPB group and 144.17 (13.11) mg in the control group (P < 0.001). Rescue analgesic need was lower in the SPSIP group in the first 18 post-operative hours (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block provides good analgesia in the thoracic region after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. With the developing autonomous driving technologies today, unmanned vehicles - unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) and unmanned marine vehicles (UMV) - autonomously reach the desired target without human intervention. However, effective and efficient methods for the coordination of these vehicles in multiples need to be developed. Quantum computing has much more potential than classical computers due to its nature. In this study, a quantum-classical hybrid system is proposed to ensure that autonomous transportation unmanned vehicles can assign tasks in a collaborative and fully autonomous manner. Since the constraints of land vehicles navigating on roads and marine vehicles navigating at sea are taken into account in the study, the problem is approached from a different perspective compared to common studies in the literature. First, the QEA algorithm used in the ranking operations was adapted to the problem. Improvements were made to the adapted method to increase its performance. Then, a framework was proposed to operate this method as a quantum-classical hybrid. Significant contributions have been made to the proposed quantum-classical hybrid method by offering advantages in learning the parameters and solution update equations. The problem was solved using classical genetic algorithms (GA), QEA and the proposed method, and their solution performances were compared. It was observed that the proposed method was superior to QEA and produced results very close to those produced by GA. Experimental results confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method. Implementing the method as a quantum-classical hybrid brings one step closer to the goal of realizing the solution in a quantum environment.

Despite a plethora of research on vaccine developments and the adverse effects of the vaccineworldwide, there are several research studies on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy or rejection. The objectives of this study were to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine on treatment and the factors that contributed to the vaccine concerns. Methods: After one month of being approved by the ethics committee, a descriptive cross-sectional research was conducted using online resources. Samples were randomly selected from the study population. The current study included adults (>18 years old) who were randomly selected from different provinces of Turkey. Results: Most participants were young adults 18–23 years old (47.9%), female (64.8%), married (36.1%), with university education (70.4%), and without medical illness (60.9%) (mean age = 28 years old). Both vaccination doses were given to 53% of the individuals. The most frequent symptom was discomfort at the injection site (0.14%), followed by asthenia muscle pain (0.01%) and edema (24.5%) at the injection site. More symptoms were reported by women than by men. Social media accounts and websites of professional organizations, namely the Dental Association, the Ministry of Health, and the World Health Organization (WHO), were the main sources of COVID-19 information. Hesitancy was induced by concerns about side effects (67.7%), safety (69.7%), lack of information (43.1%), inadequate data on the vaccine clinical trials (55.9%), lack of information on how long protective and effectiveness of vaccines (69.4%), lack of information on how effectiveness against variants (74.8%), think COVID-19 is not dangerous (69.7%), not effectiveness (22.6%) of the vaccine, not safe (32.6%), change my genetic make-up and cause it reproductive sterilite (20.2%), high number of deaths due to COVID-19 (60.8%), the presence of dangerous materials such as aluminum, mercury and others in the content of vaccines, concerns about the country producing the vaccine (38.2%), being afraid of the injection (22%), being against vaccination in general (11%), negative news in the press and social media (38.6%), being risky for only people over 60 (15.9%), having a strong immune system (38.4%), religious (4.7%) and cultural factors (7.4%), believing in natural and traditional medicine (25.4%), and being influenced by friends or family members (19.6%). Hesitancy to accept the COVID-19 vaccine was observed in subjects with hypercholosterolemia and diabetes mellitus. In conclusion, Vaccine hesitancy was primarily related to safety apprehensions. Abstract Background This is the first study to report both cortical and trabecular bone evaluation of mandibles in bruxers, within the knowledge of the authors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of bruxism on both the cortical and the trabecular bone in antegonial and gonial regions of the mandible, which is the attachment of the masticatory muscles, by using panoramic radiographic images. Methods In this study, the data of 65 bruxer (31 female, 34 male) and 71 non-bruxer (37 female, 34 male) young adult patients (20–30 years) were evaluated. Antegonial Notch Depth (AND), Antegonial-Index (AI), Gonial-Index, Fractal Dimension (FD) and Bone Peaks (BP) were evaluated on panoramic radiographic images. The effects of the bruxism, gender and side factors were investigated according to these findings. The statistical significance level was set atP ≤ 0.05. International students, often a noteworthy group, constitute about 10 per cent of the student population on many campuses throughout the world (OECD, 2009). At any time, there are likely to be over a million students and scholars attending institutions of higher learning abroad, and recent estimates have set the figure at about 4.5 million (Çetinsaya, G.2014). A significant portion of the contemporary literature has dealt with the problems of international students. Owing to the importance of international students to culturally diverse blend of colleges and universities, higher education institutions must develop support services to assist international students with a series of special needs ranging from adjusting to the academic requirements, to dealing with cultural factors of being drown in new community settings (Cho & Yu, 2015). Leisure, in the meanwhile, is an important experience for university students since it is a functional tool to create socially accommodating environments for this population. However, how active leisure participation impact on social adjustment has not been studied extensively in qualitative studies. Therefore, this qualitative study intended to examine the benefits and impacts of active leisure participation on social adjustment of international students in a mid-size metropolitan university in Manisa, Turkey. Overall, students demonstrated gains in social adjustment and reported psychological and physical benefits when they actively participated in leisure time activities. Study showed that international students have demands and expectations from the university in terms of leisure time activities.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the antimicrobial effect of propolis ethanol extract collected from the Tarsus district of Mersin province, Kilis province, Yayladagi district of Hatay province in southern Türkiye and Sarkoy district of Tekirdag province of northwestern Türkiye against Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Helicobacter pylori (ATCC 43504), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), and Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 29213). Their chemical constituents were detected via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). They were used in a molecular docking approach to search the interactions between the propolis compounds. A total of 24 phenolic compounds were detected in all samples. 3-4 dimethoxycinnamic acid, caffeic acid and genistein were indicated to be the predominant phenolic compounds in propolis extracts by LC-MS/MS, while rutin was found in the lowest concentration. Phenolic compounds were detected in a high concentration of the propolis samples collected from the Tarsus district of Mersin province. The broth microdilution method determined minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) values. MIC values ranged from 0.02 to 14 mg.mL-1. E. coli and S. aureus examined were as susceptible to the propolis extracts except for Mersin and Tekirdag propolis samples. The propolis sample collected from the Tarsus district of Mersin province presented the highest antibacterial activity on P. aeruginosa with MIC values of 1 mg.mL-1. Active substances in propolis were docked to the relevant target proteins (5LMM, 4NX9, 5YHG, and 5FXT) representing E. coli (ATCC 25922), H. pylori (ATCC 43504), P. aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), and S. aureus (ATCC 29213), and with the help of molecular simulation. With this study, we indicated that the ethanol extract of propolis had a stronger antibacterial activity on S. aureus isolates than that of E. coli, H. pylori, and P. aeruginosa. Although each component of propolis contributed to the antibacterial activity, the contribution of the vitexin component to the antibacterial activity was found to be quite significant.

Objective: To identify the clinical characteristics and outcomes of hospital-acquired SARS-CoV-2 infection during the vaccination period nationwide in Turkey. Methods: COVID-19 patients followed in the pandemic services across Turkey between January 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022 were investigated retrospectively. Nosocomial COVID-19 was defined as a patient neither diagnosed with COVID-19 nor suspected COVID-19 at the hospital admission and was confirmed COVID-19 ≥5 days after hospital admission. The primary outcome of this study was in-hospital mortality; demographic features and vaccination status was compared between survivors and non-survivors. Results: During the study period, 15 573 COVID-19 patients were followed in 18 centers and 543 (3.5%) patients were nosocomial COVID-19. Most patients with nosocomial COVID-19 (80.4%) were transferred from medical wards. 162 (29.8%) of the patients with nosocomial COVID-19 admitted to the intensive care unit due to disease severity and 138 (25.4%) of the patients died during hospital stay. Advanced age (≥65 years) and number of comorbid diseases (≥2) was found to be associated with mortality in nosocomial COVID-19 (OR 1.74, 95% Cl 1.11-2.74 and OR 1.60, 95% Cl 1.02-2.56, respectively). Vaccination was associated with survival in nosocomial COVID-19 (OR 0.25, 95% Cl 0.16-0.38). Conclusions: Patients with nosocomial COVID-19 had increased admission to intensive care units and higher mortality rate. Vaccination can decrease the in-hospital mortality rate.

It was aimed to determine the frequency of teachers' encounters with child neglect and abuse and their views on this subject in this study. It is a cross-sectional and descriptive study. Three hundred eighty-eight teachers working in 40 primary schools and 18 high schools were selected with the cluster sampling method. Data was collected through a survey. The Chi-Square tests were applied. 21.6% of the research group reported that they encountered cases of neglect and 46.1% reported cases of abuse. 41.8% of the research group stated that they did not receive child neglect and abuse training. While 26.2% of them find themselves sufficient in diagnosing cases of neglect and abuse, 73.8% find themselves partially sufficient or insufficient. A significant relationship was found between self-efficacy in diagnosing cases according to gender, the number of years of work, receiving education about neglect and abuse, type of abuse, and reporting. While the rate of women who consider reporting suspected child neglect or abuse mandatory is significantly higher than men, the rate of those who find themselves sufficient in diagnosing child neglect or abuse is significantly higher in males. Among the abuse types, the rate of teachers who are faced with the suspicion of sexual abuse in diagnosing the case is significantly higher than the other types of abuse. The rate of teachers receiving training on cases of neglect and abuse and finding themselves competent in this regard is low. Men, those who have worked for 16-20 years, and teachers who have been trained in this subject find themselves more competent in diagnosing child neglect or abuse. Diagnosis the sexual abuse is higher than the other types. Regardless of the incident, the most important factor for teachers to find themselves competent is acquiring knowledge through pre-service or in-service training. The most common personality traits were Openness and Agreeableness, whereas the least common was Extraversion. Participants found AI useful and believed it could help dentists evaluate radiographs. However, the least agreed statement was that they would trust AI more than a dentist in evaluating radiograph results. A statistically significant difference was found between personal traits of dental students and in expressions comparing dentists and AI. Males were more familiar with AI than females. Conclusion: This study found that attitudes towards AI in dentistry vary based on personality traits. The presence of systemic diseases and the medications used by patients presenting to the dentist have a significant impact on oral health and the dental treatment plan. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of systemic diseases in patients attending the Faculty of Dentistry and to investigate the awareness of the medications used by patients. A total of 635 patients with systemic diseases who applied to the Ordu University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology between November 2021 and May 2022 were included in the study. In addition to demographic information, a questionnaire consisting of 2 questions was applied to patients with at least one systemic disease. 63.1% of the patients were female and 36.9% were male. The most common systemic diseases were hypertension (41.2%), diabetes (22.4%), thyroid disorders (11.3%) and cardiac diseases (8.9%) respectively. According to the patients' answers, 45.1% knew their systemic disease and the medicine they were taking, 53.7% knew their systemic disease but did not know the medicine they were taking, and 1.2% did not know their systemic disease but knew the medicine they were taking. It is important for individuals who apply to the dentist to have knowledge and awareness about their systemic diseases and the medicine used, in order to prevent possible complications related to oral health and dental treatments. With the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been attempted to conduct distance education at all grades in the world. This study aims to examine the distance education processes of preschool teachers in Turkey. The instrumental case study was used in the research with ten female private kindergarten teachers selected using the snowball and convenience sampling method. Interviews were conducted with a semi-structured form on the Zoom platform. It was concluded that teachers experienced infrastructure and technical problems, increased workload in distance education, and had economic difficulties. During online education, teachers felt that they were monitored by parents and had privacy concerns. Teachers had problems in classroom management, experienced anxiety with increased screen time and could not adapt measurement and evaluation practices. The requirements for distance preschool education were divided into four categories: knowledge, interaction, physical space and material. The recommendations for limitations and future research are indicated in the study.

Background: COVID-19 has spread rapidly all over the world and has become a global concern. After March 16, 2020, dental education in Turkey completely switched to online education. Aim: This survey aimed to evaluate the opinion of students about online education. In addition, it aimed to determine the COVID-19 vaccine status of the students and whether they contracted the disease. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted with the use of a web-based survey and 281 senior intern dentistry students from different universities in Turkey participated in the survey. The survey consisted of questions created to understand the view of the students on online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, there were questions about the COVID-19 infection and COVID-19 vaccine experiences of the students. Descriptive analyses were done and differences between the gender was analyzed with Mann–Whitney U-test at a significance level of P ≤ 0.05. Results: In the study, 68.32% of the students thought COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected theoretical education and 83.27% of them thought COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected practical education. Of the surveyed students, 28.82% of them had COVID-19 infection. The percentage of students who had at least 1 dose of vaccine was 98.58%. Conclusions: The study revealed the unsatisfactory experience of students with the newly introduced online education during COVID-19 pandemic. It is gratifying to notice the higher rate of vaccination among students.

Tacrolimus is a crucial immunosuppressant for organ transplant patients, requiring therapeutic drug monitoring due to its variable exposure after oral intake. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling has provided insights into tacrolimus disposition in adults but has limited application in paediatrics. This study investigated age dependency in tacrolimus exposure at the levels of absorption, metabolism, and distribution. Based on the literature data, a PBPK model was developed to predict tacrolimus exposure in adults after intravenous and oral administration. This model was then extrapolated to the paediatric population, using a unique reference dataset of kidney transplant patients. Selecting adequate ontogeny profiles for hepatic and intestinal CYP3A4 appeared critical to using the model in children. The best model performance was achieved by using the Upreti ontogeny in both the liver and intestines. To mechanistically evaluate the impact of absorption on tacrolimus exposure, biorelevant in vitro solubility and dissolution data were obtained. A relatively fast and complete release of tacrolimus from its amorphous formulation was observed when mimicking adult or paediatric dissolution conditions (dose, fluid volume). In both the adult and paediatric PBPK models, the in vitro dissolution profiles could be adequately substituted by diffusion-layer-based dissolution modelling. At the level of distribution, sensitivity analysis suggested that differences in blood plasma partitioning of tacrolimus may contribute to the variability in exposure in paediatric patients.

In this study, the treatability of plasticizer production industry wastewater was investigated using nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. The effect of operating pressure, pH of the wastewater, and sequential treatment option on the permeate flux, COD, phthalate, and micropollutant removal efficiencies were examined. The steady-state permeate fluxes of NF270, NF90, and BW30 membranes were 47.1, 19.0, and 13.9 L/m2/h for 15 bar, respectively. Sequential filtration using NF90 and BW30 membranes to protect the RO membrane was also tested. The initial and steady-state permeate fluxes were 30.4 and 18.9 L/m2/h, respectively, for 15 bar. The effect of wastewater pH in the range 4.0–10.0 was also studied and maximum initial and steady-state permeate fluxes were obtained at pH = 10.0. The permeate quality of NF90 and NF90 + BW30 membranes operated at 15 bar was measured and they showed a high degree for phthalate removal from wastewater from 97.7% to 99.9%. Moreover, a high degree of micropollutants was also obtained from 88.4% to 99.9% for sequential filtration (NF90 + BW30). The COD reduction efficiencies were obtained at 15 bar as 23.3%, 81.5%, and 87.6% for individual NF270, NF90, and BW30 membranes, respectively. However, COD reduction efficiency was increased up to 90.8% when sequential filtration (NF90 + BW30) was applied. In this study, an electro-oxidation (EO) process using graphite electrodes as electrode pairs was used for the removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammoniacal nitrogen (NH4+-N), and color from real textile printing wastewater. The effects of solution pH, sodium chloride (NaCl) dosage, sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), which is the oldest and still most important chlorine-based bleach, dosage, and oxidation time were investigated on the removal efficiencies. Operating conditions for the EO reactor were applied to current density 1 mA/cm2, distance between the electrodes: 2 cm, 150 min operation time, and stirring speed of 500 rpm. At optimum conditions: pH 9.5, applied current density 1 mA/cm2, NaCl dosage of 8 g/L, NaOCl dosage of 44.4 mg/L and 150 min electro-oxidation time, the obtained removal efficiencies were 86.5% and 91.1% for chemical oxygen demand (COD) and ammoniacal nitrogen, respectively. Efficiency was increased to 91.1% for ammoniacal nitrogen from 21.7% after applying EO combined with NaOCl addition compared to individual NaOCl addition. HIGHLIGHTS Ammonia concentrations can be high in textile dye wastewater due to the usage of nitrogen-based substances.; Various oxidation processes are not effective for ammonium removal.; The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of individual EO and EO with an addition of NaCl and NaOCl.; EO assisted NaOCl and NaCl is a promising technology for the oxidation of both carbon and nitrogen-based contaminants.;

The high-salinity wastewater from the textile industry faces a significant challenge in effectively separating dyes and salts. In this study, a CeZnFe-layered double hydroxide (LDH)-incorporated nanofiltration (LNF) membrane was fabricated using the conventional interfacial polymerization (IP) technique to fractionate dyes and salts within the wastewater. The impact of CeZnFe LDH on various aspects of membrane performance was examined, including water flux, dye removal efficiency, dye/salt separation capability, self-cleaning ability, and membrane integrity. The addition of LDHs resulted in improved membrane surface hydrophilicity, thereby enhancing water flux. The optimized TFN membrane (0.050 wt% LDH in PIP solution) significantly improved pure water flux, exceeding 150%. All TFN membranes exhibited excellent performance in dye and salt fractionation (93% for Congo red, 2.6% for NaCl, and 40.7% for Na2SO4). Also, excellent self-cleaning ability was observed for the optimized membrane, exhibiting a remarkable water flux recovery rate after three operation cycles. Moreover, including CeZnFe LDH in the optimized TFN membrane played a significant role in enhancing membrane integrity. This study provides new inspiration for fabricating self-cleaning loose NF membranes using CeZnFe LDH for effective dye/salt separation.

Target groups within an organization adopt its culture, reflecting it in all internal and external business processes. Adopting a green organizational culture in hotels with sustainability certificates plays an important role in reshaping business processes by developing sustainability awareness among employees. Digital transformation, which facilitates corporate culture and business processes, plays a role in employee job satisfaction while also supporting environmental, social, and economic sustainability. This research aims to determine the relationship between green organizational culture, job satisfaction, and competitive advantage variables and to examine the moderating role of digital transformation on these relationships. The data-collecting techniques of choice were surveys and semi-structured interviews. While Amos software (Version 24) was used to test the hypothetical model in the analysis of survey data, a Hayes Process macro was used to determine the moderating effect. The interview forms' data was analyzed using a bag-of-words model. According to the research results, there is a positive relationship between the participation, consistency, and adaptability sub-dimensions of green organizational culture and job satisfaction, while there is no significant relationship between the mission sub-dimension and job satisfaction. Furthermore, the study reveals the moderating role of digital transformation in the effect of job satisfaction on competitive advantage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The performance of electrooxidation (EO) treatment using activated carbon cloth (ACC) electrodes on textile dye bath wastewater was investigated. ACC electrode pairs were used as anode/cathode for EO experiments. The effect of current density (50–150 A/m2 ), operating time (0–90 minutes), and solution pH (6-11) were tested for removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD), color, and chloride, as well as the changes in conductivity. 95.5% COD and color removal efficiencies were obtained at current density (CD) of 100 A/m2 at solution pH of 10 for 90 minutes. Moreover, the chloride concentration decreased from 4254 to 35.5 mg/L and solution conductivity decreased from 160 to 131 mS/cm at the same conditions. Operating cost of the EO process was calculated to be 3.13 US$/m3 for 36 kWh/m3 energy consumption. The results indicated that the EO process with ACC electrodes achieved high pollutant removal from textile dye bath wastewater.

The purpose of the study is to describe the life experiences of a young man who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) through a narrative research. In other words, our research aim is to investigate the nature of life and especially the social and school experiences of individual affected by this syndrome. Data were collected via interviews, meetings, researcher reflections and documents. Inductive approach was used for data analysis. The findings were interpreted and presented into themes. The results were discussed in terms of implications for future research and interventions.
