This paper on Spiritual Well-Being provides information for leaders concerned with the problems of older people. The first four sections of the paper discuss: the need for religious organizations and society to develop and promote services and programs that will contribute to the spiritual needs of the elderly; goals proposed by previous groups and conferences; information on knowledge available in this area; and vital gaps in meeting such needs. The fifth section identifies several major issues relevant to the spiritual well-being of older people. The purpose of the issues is to focus discussion on the development of recommendations toward the adoption of national policies. A bibliography is provided. (Author/DB)

This research and demonstration project tested the contributions of comprehensive social, psychological, and vocational rehabilitation services to the reduction of recidivism rates, the enhancement of vocational stability and occupational levels, and the personal adjustment of parolees from the Minnesota State Reformatory for Men. The project centered around an experimental design in which offenders released with parole sentences of 18 months or more were randomly assigned to either a control group that received normal services or an experimental group that received comprehensive services during the first year following release. Services to experimental subjects were adapted to fit the unique configuration of each individual's needs. The chief innovations of the project were its comprehensive interdisciplinary-team nature. , the emphasis on vocational adjustment as a primary means to total life adjustment, the sophistication of the vocational evaluation process, the commitment to seeking education and training for high-risk clients, the provision of immediate comprehensive post-release services, the release period, and the use of an experimental design to compare outcomes of treated parolees with those of offenders receiving normal parole supervision. In terms of recidivism at one year, the experimental had a better record than controls. (AUTHOR)

Increased motivation by utilizing gamification is investigated in this report. Two problems in society were alerted by a finance company in collaboration with a Swedish university. The first problem was that people did not save enough for their retirement. The second problem was that some people saved money but did not have the money invested, which the finance company calls sleeping money. The company found that the reason for this was due to lack of motivation. In a general perspective, the two core problems are lack of motivation and unused resources in society. If sleeping resources were utilized, it could benefit those using the resource, the owner of the resource, and in society as a result of increased utilization of these resources. Multi-sided platforms are being used in various industries and are a great way to interconnect two different sides of a market, i.e. buyers and sellers. Gamification is proven to be an efficient way to motivate people. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find a solution to how sleeping resources can be activated by utilizing gamification on a multi-sided platform. Generally, it was concluded that gamification can both intrinsically and extrinsically motivate users to activate sleeping resources. Ökad motivation genom att använda spelifiering undersöks i denna rapport. Ett finansbolag i samarbete med ett svenskt universitet uppmärksammade två problem i samhället. Det första problemet var att människor inte sparade tillräckligt för sin pension. Det andra problemet var att vissa människor sparade pengar men inte hade pengarna investerade, vilket finansbolaget kallar sleeping money eller på svenska: sovande pengar. Företaget kom fram till att orsaken till detta berodde på brist av motivation. I ett generellt perspektiv är de två kärnproblemen brist på motivation och att det finns mycket outnyttjade resurser i samhället. Om de outnyttjade resurserna används kan det gynna de som använder resursen, ägaren av resursen och hela samhället som ett resultat av ökat utnyttjande av dessa resurser. Flersidiga plattformar används i olika branscher och är ett bra sätt att koppla samman två olika sidor på en marknad, det vill säga köpare och säljare. Spelifiering har visat sig vara ett effektivt sätt att motivera människor. Syftet med denna studie är därför att hitta en lösning på hur sovande resurser kan aktiveras genom att använda spelifiering på en flersidig plattform. Generellt drogs slutsatsen att spelifiering kan aktivera sovande resurser med både inre och yttre motivation.

Det finns ett behov av antiblockeringssystem, ABS, på cyklar då systemet kan reducera antalet allvarliga cykelolyckor. Antiblockeringssystem hindrar fordon från att låsa hjulen och gör därför möjligt att styra vid inbromsning. Det är vanligt på många vägfordon och det är i Sverige lag på att ett antiblockeringssystem ska finnas på vissa typer av fordon. På cyklar är det väldigt ovanligt och syftet med projektet är därför att hitta en lösning till ett mekaniskt antiblockeringssystem till cyklar. Anledningen till att lösningen ska vara mekanisk, är att systemet kan bli både enklare och billigare an ett elektroniskt. Frågeställningen, " Är det möjligt att tillverka ett fungerande mekaniskt antiblockeringssystem för cyklar, som även är billigare än en elektronisk lösning?", besvaras genom dels en litteraturstudie där andra mekaniska antiblockeringssystem studeras och även genom beräkningar på hur egna lösningar beter sig. Ett mekaniskt antiblockeringssystem användes på flygplan under 1950-talet. Systemet kallas Maxaret och utgör grunden för lösningen till systemet för cyklar. Lösningen som är resultatet av projektet är mycket mindre i storlek, jämfört med Maxaret. Det är även ombyggt för att passa till en cykels framhjul, då det är där systemet gör mest nytta. Projektet avgränsas till vissa belastningar och accelerationer som antas påverka antiblockeringssystemet, eftersom nödvändiga data för dessa är svåra och tidskrävande att anskaffa. Lösningen för systemet är presenterat som en CAD-modell. Med beräkningar i MATLAB fås resultatet att lösningen anpassat för en cykel kan fungera som ett antiblockeringssystem.
