In recent years, microwave thermotherapy (MWT) has been widely concerned in tumor treatment. However, problems such as easy recurrence have restricted its application. And some studies have shown that thermotherapy will enhance the immune effect at the same time, but the effect is weak and not enough to inhibit tumor recurrence after thermotherapy. Therefore, we can effectively inhibit tumor growth and recurrence by enhancing the immune effect after thermotherapy. In this paper, Zr-MOF nanoparticles were used to encapsulate the donor of nitrosocysteine (CSNO) for nitric oxide release, and then the mitochondriatargeting ligand of triphenylphosphine (TPP) was attached to obtain CSNO@Zr-MOF-TPP (SZMT) nanocomposites. Under microwave irradiation, SZMT releases NO, which promotes high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) release and calreticulin (CRT) expression, thereby activating the immune effect. The SZMT nanocomposites realizes the combined treatment of MWT, gas therapy and immunotherapy under microwave irradiation, which provides a new insight for the application of MWT in the clinic.

It should analyze the job requirements of domestic artificial intelligence industry enterprises, clarify the level of talent needs that can be met in the artificial intelligence industry chain, and based on the concept of industry education integration, combine artificial intelligence technology with applied professional skills and professional qualification certification to construct our university's talent training plan and professional curriculum system for the artificial intelligence undergraduate major, Based on the premise of cultivating the core professional abilities of college students, cultivating the needs that meet the development of social economy and the improvement of scientific and technological level, and meeting the needs of college students to achieve self-worth and sustainable development, providing useful reference for the construction and development of artificial intelligence majors.

Synthetic biology builds upon the techniques and successes of genetics, molecular biology, and metabolic engineering by applying engineering principles to the design of biological systems. The field still faces substantial challenges, including long development times, high rates of failure, and poor reproducibility. One method to ameliorate these problems is to improve the exchange of information about designed systems between laboratories. The synthetic biology open language (SBOL) has been developed as a standard to support the specification and exchange of biological design information in synthetic biology, filling a need not satisfied by other pre-existing standards. This document details version 2.3.0 of SBOL, which builds upon version 2.2.0 published in last year’s JIB Standards in Systems Biology special issue. In particular, SBOL 2.3.0 includes means of succinctly representing sequence modifications, such as insertion, deletion, and replacement, an extension to support organization and attachment of experimental data derived from designs, and an extension for describing numerical parameters of design elements. The new version also includes specifying types of synthetic biology activities, unambiguous locations for sequences with multiple encodings, refinement of a number of validation rules, improved figures and examples, and clarification on a number of issues related to the use of external ontology terms.

Abstract Carbon–iron oxide microspheres’ black pigments (CIOMBs) had been prepared via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of aqueous solutions containing ferrous chloride and glucose. Due to the presence of carbon, CIOMBs not only exhibited remarkably acid resistance, but also could be well dispersed in both polar solvents and nonpolar solvent. Finally, dispersions of hollow CIOMBs in tetrachloroethylene had successfully been applied in electrophoretic displays.

Abstract This work described a continuous method to synthesize CdTe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots. In an integrated system by flawlessly combining the chemical aerosol flow system working at high temperature (200–300°C) to generate CdTe/CdS intermediate products and an additional heat-up setup at relatively low temperature to overcoat the ZnS shells, the CdTe/CdS/ZnS multishell structures were realized. The as-synthesized CdTe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots are characterized by photoluminescence spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectra (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Fluorescence and XRD results confirm that the obtained quantum dots have a core/shell/shell structure. It shows the highest quantum yield above 45% when compared to the rhodamine 6G. The core/shell/shell QDs were more stable via the oxidation experiment by H2O2.

Abstract A general approach has been designed to blue, green, and red pigments by metal ions doping hollow TiO 2. The reaction involves initial formation of PS at TiO2 core–shell nanoparticles via a mixed-solvent method, and then mixing with metal ions solution containing PEG, followed calcining in the atmosphere. The as-prepared hollow pigments exhibit uniform size, bright color, and tunable density, which are fit for electronic paper display.

Biological computer-aided design and manufacturing (bioCAD/CAM) tools facilitate the design and build processes of engineering biological systems using iterative design-build-test-learn (DBTL) cycles. In this book chapter, we highlight some of the bioCAD/CAM tools developed and used at the US Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Genome Institute (JGI), Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI), and Agile BioFoundry (ABF). We demonstrate the use of these bioCAD/CAM tools on a common workflow for designing and building a multigene pathway in a hierarchical fashion. Each tool presented in this book chapter is specifically tailored to support one or more specific steps in a workflow, can be integrated with the others into design and build workflows, and can be deployed at academic, government, or commercial entities.

Real-time and accurate temperature monitoring during microwave hyperthermia (MH) remains a critical challenge for ensuring treatment efficacy and patient safety. This study presents a novel approach to simulate real MH and precisely determine the temperature of the target region within biological tissues using a temporal-informed neural network. We conducted MH experiments on 30 sets of phantoms and 10 sets of ex vivo pork tissues. We proposed a novel perspective: the evolving tissue responses to continuous electromagnetic radiation stimulation are a joint evolution in temporal and spatial dimensions. Our model leverages TimesNet to extract periodic features and Cloblock to capture global information relevance in two-dimensional periodic vectors from ultrasound images. By assimilating more ultrasound temporal data, our model improves temperature-estimation accuracy. In the temperature range 25–65 °C, our neural network achieved temperature-estimation root mean squared errors of approximately 0.886 °C and 0.419 °C for fresh ex vivo pork tissue and phantoms, respectively. The proposed temporal-informed neural network has a modest parameter count, rendering it suitable for deployment on ultrasound mobile devices. Furthermore, it achieves temperature accuracy close to that prescribed by clinical standards, making it effective for non-destructive temperature monitoring during MH of biological tissues. GaN, a third-generation semiconductor, has gained widespread attention owing to its high temperature resistance, wide bandgap, and high critical breakdown electric fields. Magnetron sputtering has a broad potential in the field of low-cost growth of GaN on account of high efficiency, superior quality, and convenient operation. However, challenges caused from the pure Ga targets with a huge refrigeration system need to be resolved for wide practices. Here, a new and cost-effective Ga target for magnetron sputtering was fabricated by utilizing the wetting properties of CuGa2 and Ga. Mixed microcrystalline and amorphous GaN films were obtained via reactive magnetron sputtering employing the Ga target. The average deposition rate is about 1.68 nm/min, and the average roughness is ∼7.45 ± 0.26 nm under 100 W of sputtering power. In addition, the sputtered GaN films were found to be wide-bandgap and p-type semiconductors with high transmittance, as revealed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and absorption spectra. The GaN films display a bandgap of ∼3.60 eV and a transmittance exceeding 88.5% in the visible range. Furthermore, field-effect transistors and metal–semiconductor–metal photodetectors have been fabricated using the obtained GaN films, demonstrating favorable response characteristics. The prospects of microcrystalline/amorphous GaN films in sensing, power devices, and flexible electronics were forecasted. Overall, a low-cost and pervasive route of target fabrication process expands the possibilities of using low melting point metals in magnetron sputtering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, has spread widely throughout the world. To reduce the spread of infection, children are prevented from going to school and have fewer opportunities for in-person communication. Such changes in the everyday lives of children might influence their socio-emotional behaviors; however, the whole picture of the possible impact was not well known. This study examined socio-emotional behaviors of Japanese children (aged 4–9) during the pandemic and compared the data to the data before the pandemic. Children's socio-emotional behaviors in an everyday context was assessed using the parent-reported Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. The results indicated that during the pandemic, children were more prosocial and experienced more problems in their peer relationships, but no differences were found in emotional symptoms, conduct problems, hyperactivity between before and during the pandemic. The findings suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic has mixed impacts on children's socio-emotional behaviors, implying that this topic should be considered in broader and fuller perspectives. Among those most affected are children, who have had to adapt to not attending school and having limited face-to-face interactions with others. This shift in their daily lives could be affecting their social and emotional behaviors, but until now, the full extent of these impacts hasn't been clear. This study focused on Japanese children between the ages of 4 and 9 to see how the pandemic has influenced their social and emotional development. By comparing parents' observations from before and during the pandemic using a questionnaire, researchers were able to assess changes in the children's behavior. The findings reveal a mixed picture. During the pandemic, children seemed to behave more kindly and helpfully toward others, yet they struggled more in forming and maintaining friendships. Interestingly, there were no significant changes in how often they showed emotional distress, behaved badly, or were hyperactive compared to before the pandemic. These results indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic has had varied effects on children's social and emotional behaviors. This suggests that our understanding of these impacts needs to be viewed from a broader perspective, taking into account the different ways children are responding to the changes in their lives.
