The study examines the significance of sustainability among festival attendees (N = 3,503), revealing that a substantial majority of 90.4% do not consider it a primary factor in their festival experience. The analysis highlights demographic influences, indicating that factors such as age, gender, and educational background have minimal impact on the perceived importance of sustainability. The paper synthesizes these findings, concluding that sustainability is not a central aspect of the festival experience for most visitors. Why is this the case? The answer lies in a key aspect of the experience that guests seek at festivals: escapism. The study suggests that traditional approaches, such as strict regulations on non-sustainable practices, may be counterproductive. Instead, it advocates for the development of innovative nudging strategies that promote sustainable behaviors while preserving the escapist nature of festivals. By fostering a culture of engagement rather than prohibition, event organizers can enhance the integration of sustainability into the festival experience, ultimately encouraging more responsible participation among attendees.

Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken übernehmen in der Open-Access-Transformation zusätzliche Rollen und werden zu zentralen Knotenpunkten für wissenschaftliche Infrastruktur, Beratung, Dienstleistungen und Initiativen. Beteiligungs- und Kommunikationsstrategien sind für sie wichtige Werkzeuge, um in ihren unterschiedlichen Rollen erfolgreich zu agieren. Der Artikel zeigt Ansätze für die Entwicklung und Durchführung solcher Strategien auf, begleitet durch konkrete Beispiele aus dem BMBF-Verbundprojekt AuROA. Der Artikel fordert dazu auf, Kommunikationswissen und Beteiligungserfahrungen im Rahmen von Forschungsdatenmanagement sowohl als Forschungsdaten anzuerkennen, als auch für weitere Projekte, Initiativen und die Institution als Ganzes nachnutzbar zu machen. Academic libraries are taking on additional roles as a part of the Open Access transformation. They are becoming central hubs for academic infrastructure, consulting, services, and initiatives. Participation and communication strategies are important tools for them to succeed in their various roles. The article shows approaches for developing and implementing such strategies, accompanied by concrete examples from the research project AuROA. The article calls for communication knowledge and participation experience to be recognized as research data as well as to be made reusable for further projects, initiatives and the institution as a whole.

Little is known about the undated and presumably anonymous fight book which was once owned by Hugold Behr the Elder (sixteenth century), Rostock UB Mss. Var. 83. The small booklet shows how to fight with rapier and dagger, a combat system which was relatively new in Germany. Its author – an anonymous German fencer who had presumably journeyed to Venice – was probably inspired by Italian fight books. The semantics of the treatise show some interesting features with regards to the technical terms used, not to mention examples of code-switching phenomena from German to some specific Latin phrases. Furthermore, the treatise is, methodically speaking, highly elaborate due to the fact that its author brings a three-dimensional martial art footwork to life in a two-dimensional fight book.
