BACKGROUND: Education influences brain health and dementia. However, its impact across regions, specifically Latin America (LA) and the United States (US), is unknown. METHODS: A total of 1412 participants comprising controls, patients with Alzheimers disease (AD), and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) from LA and the US were included. We studied the association of education with brain volume and functional connectivity while controlling for imaging quality and variability, age, sex, total intracranial volume (TIV), and recording type. RESULTS: Education influenced brain measures, explaining 24%-98% of the geographical differences. The educational disparities between LA and the US were associated with gray matter volume and connectivity variations, especially in LA and AD patients. Education emerged as a critical factor in classifying aging and dementia across regions. DISCUSSION: The results underscore the impact of education on brain structure and function in LA, highlighting the importance of incorporating educational factors into diagnosing, care, and prevention, and emphasizing the need for global diversity in research. HIGHLIGHTS: Lower education was linked to reduced brain volume and connectivity in healthy controls (HCs), Alzheimers disease (AD), and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). Latin American cohorts have lower educational levels compared to the those in the United States. Educational disparities majorly drive brain health differences between regions. Educational differences were significant in both conditions, but more in AD than FTLD. Education stands as a critical factor in classifying aging and dementia across regions.

Abstract Disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are likely to be most beneficial when initiated in the presymptomatic phase. To track the benefit of such interventions, fluid biomarkers are of great importance, with neurofilament light chain protein (NfL) showing promise for monitoring neurodegeneration and predicting cognitive outcomes. Here, we update and complement previous findings from the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network Observational Study by using matched cross-sectional and longitudinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma samples from 567 individuals, allowing timely comparative analyses of CSF and blood trajectories across the entire disease spectrum. CSF and plasma trajectories were similar at presymptomatic stages, discriminating mutation carriers from non-carrier controls 10-20 years before the estimated onset of clinical symptoms, depending on the statistical model used. However, after symptom onset the rate of change in CSF NfL continued to increase steadily, whereas the rate of change in plasma NfL leveled off. Both plasma and CSF NfL changes were associated with grey-matter atrophy, but not with Aβ-PET changes, supporting a temporal decoupling of Aβ deposition and neurodegeneration. These observations support NfL in both CSF and blood as an early marker of neurodegeneration but suggest that NfL measured in the CSF may be better suited for monitoring clinical trial outcomes in symptomatic AD patients.

Organic matter in rock aggregates, such as subgrade, sand, and gravel, originates from the decomposition of organic remains, including plants and domestic waste. The method used to measure the organic matter content in aggregates for infrastructure projects is known as Loss on Ignition (LOI) in which the difference in weight before and after calcination is considered the percentage of loss due to oxides, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur derived from the organic material. This study compares the compressive strength of three clayey wastes sourced from Bogotá, Colombia, each with different organic matter contents measured by loss on ignition (LOI), mixed with varying cement contents. A total of 153 cylindrical samples were manufactured using a monotonic compression compaction technique with different cement and water dosages. Monotonic compression is a type of test in which a load is applied continuously from zero until failure occurs, without any unloading. The physical characterization was reviewed with plasticity limits, specific gravity (Gs), methylene blue index (M.B.I.), chemical composition with X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) X-ray diffraction (XRD) and SEM micrographs. Through multivariate statistical techniques, compressive strength was correlated with the Water/Cement ratio and the Cement/Residue ratio, resulting in a function that facilitates calculation of cement dosage and water content. The study identified that the response surfaces of clayey residue types exhibit tighter concavity as organic matter content increases, indicating a narrower range for determining optimum moisture content with higher LOI. This experimental investigation aims to explore the feasibility of incorporating clayey waste enhanced with hydraulic cement into materials for infrastructure construction, thereby reducing reliance on natural resources. However, the results indicate that these materials can be utilized in constructing sustainable pavements by applying more rigorous moisture measurement and control techniques to the mixtures. This approach compensates for the use of waste materials by reducing the need for landfills, saving production energy, preventing pollution from material extraction and exploitation, and decreasing gas emissions that contribute to global climate change.

Abstract Background Apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotypes have been suggested to influence cognitive impairment and clinical onset in presenilin-1 (PSEN1) E280A carriers for autosomal dominant Alzheimer’s disease (ADAD). Less is known about their impact on the trajectory of biomarker changes. Neurofilament light chain (NfL), a marker of neurodegeneration, begins to accumulate in plasma about 20 years prior to the clinical onset of ADAD. In this study we investigated the impact of APOE ε4 and ε2 variants on age-related plasma NfL increases and cognition in PSEN1 E280A mutation carriers. Methods We analyzed cross-sectional data from PSEN1 E280A mutation carriers and non-carriers recruited from the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative Registry of ADAD. All participants over 18 years with available APOE genotype, plasma NfL, and neuropsychological evaluation were included in this study. APOE genotypes and plasma NfL concentrations were characterized for each participant. Cubic spline models using a Hamiltonian Markov chain Monte Carlo method were used to characterize the respective impact of at least one APOE ε4 or ε2 allele on age-related log-transformed plasma NfL increases. Linear regression models were estimated to explore the impact of APOE ε4 and ε2 variants and plasma NfL on a composite cognitive test score in the ADAD mutation carrier and non-carrier groups. Results Analyses included 788 PSEN1 E280A mutation carriers (169 APOE ε4 + , 114 ε2 +) and 650 mutation non-carriers (165 APOE ε4 + , 80 ε2 +), aged 18–75 years. APOE ε4 allele carriers were distinguished from ε4 non-carriers by greater age-related NfL elevations in the ADAD mutation carrier group, beginning about three years after the mutation carriers’ estimated median age at mild cognitive impairment onset. APOE ε2 allele carriers had lower plasma NfL concentrations than ε2 non-carriers in both the ADAD mutation carrier and non-carrier groups, unrelated to age, and an attenuated relationship between higher NfL levels on cognitive decline in the ADAD mutation carrier group. Conclusions APOE ε4 accelerates age-related plasma NfL increases and APOE ε2 attenuates the relationship between higher plasma NfL levels and cognitive decline in ADAD. NfL may be a useful biomarker to assess clinical efficacy of APOE-modifying drugs with the potential to help in the treatment and prevention of ADAD.

Apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4) is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimers disease (LOAD), leading to earlier age of clinical onset and exacerbating pathologies. There is a critical need to identify protective targets. Recently, a rare APOE variant, APOE3-R136S (Christchurch), was found to protect against early-onset AD in a PSEN1-E280A carrier. In this study, we sought to determine if the R136S mutation also protects against APOE4-driven effects in LOAD. We generated tauopathy mouse and human iPSC-derived neuron models carrying human APOE4 with the homozygous or heterozygous R136S mutation. We found that the homozygous R136S mutation rescued APOE4-driven Tau pathology, neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation. The heterozygous R136S mutation partially protected against APOE4-driven neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation but not Tau pathology. Single-nucleus RNA sequencing revealed that the APOE4-R136S mutation increased disease-protective and diminished disease-associated cell populations in a gene dose-dependent manner. Thus, the APOE-R136S mutation protects against APOE4-driven AD pathologies, providing a target for therapeutic development against AD.

Animation has been employed as a productive and subtle means to represent Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and historical trauma. The aim of this article is to study the narrative, visual, and psycho-affective strategies of both phenomena through the films Flee (Jonas Poher Rasmussen, 2021), Waltz with Bashir (Ari Folman, 2008), and L'Image Manquante (Rithy Panh, 2013). The ability of animated images to reconstruct moments for which there is no visual testimony, as well as their capacity to evoke the experience of traumatic events, emerges as the center of a specific aesthetic approach to history, forming a type of cinema of the real (Zylberman, 2022). Contrary to the tradition of documentary and visual essay, there is a more frequent expressive use of evocative mechanisms, dreamlike images combined with archival material, and forms of re-enactment of real events that necessarily do not involve the use of actors. The evocation of painful experiences establishes a visual framework in which the viewer becomes the epicenter of the affective staging of trauma and PTSD, prioritizing poetic construction.

Abstract Coral reefs are declining due to anthropogenic warming. Nonetheless, some have recovered quickly from repeated bleaching events. Coral recovery depends on adaptation capabilities, fishing pressure, overall number of stressors, reef conditions before the event, and degree of connectivity. Coral reefs that are connected to many others can receive viable larvae and regain coverage faster. Around Moorea and Tahiti, within the Society Islands of French Polynesia, coral cover has regained its previous levels rapidly, despite several mass bleaching events over the past three decades. Here it is explored whether the connectivity with distant reefs may support such recovery by modeling the transport of coral larvae around the islands over 28 years. Ocean currents enable connectivity with the Tuamotu Islands, ~ 250 km to the northeast, that act as sources to Moorea and Tahiti for pelagic larval durations of three weeks or longer. The circulation around Moorea and Tahiti is very dynamic; mesoscale eddies can also halt the connectivity with the Tuamotu Islands and sporadically transport larvae from reefs to the west and southeast instead. With many undisturbed coral reefs within a 300 km radius and strong mesoscale variability, a dynamic, long-range connectivity may explain the recovery of reefs around Moorea and Tahiti.

En este artículo se propone una ruta metodológica para el estudio de los archivos per-sonales a partir de cuatro elementos del método etnográfico: los contextos del archivo, las interacciones entre el archivo y los sujetos, las prácticas documentales y las tem-poralidades en el archivo. En la primera parte, se analiza el impacto que tuvo el giro archivístico y las ideas posmodernas en la disciplina archivística y en la manera de abordar los acervos documentales, trascendiendo de la idea del archivo como fuente al archivo como campo de estudio, lo cual propició lecturas etnográficas de los con-juntos documentales. En la segunda parte, se presenta una propuesta para analizar los archivos personales desde la perspectiva etnográfica, a partir de los cuatro elementos citados: contexto, sujetos, prácticas documentales y temporalidades. Finalmente, se esboza de qué manera la etnografía de archivos permite repensar los principios archi-vísticos y los procesos de organización documental.

Abstract The primary aim of this study was to develop a model of a socially inclusive climate risk insurance (CRI) mechanism based on the differential risk transfer approach. This study focused on the department of La Guajira, Colombia, as a case study. La Guajira is the department in Colombia that, due to its critical disaster risk conditions, presents the adequate configuration for implementing a climate risk transfer mechanism. The article starts by analyzing risk conditions by using secondary data. Based on fieldwork, this research explored the perspectives of the most vulnerable sectors in La Guajira Department on the socioeconomic impacts and needs they experience regarding climate-related hazards, their adaptive measures for risk reduction, and their willingness to adopt CRI. This represents the fundamental input for the formulation of the CRI model. Consequently, this research proposed an operational structure as input for future implementations of the model. The results indicate that national and local disaster risk management public policies align with the sectors’ needs and priorities. Strengthening sectoral associations can enhance representation in CRI projects. In-kind indemnization is preferred for women entrepreneurs and the indigenous community. The CRI model includes a risk pool through the family compensation fund of La Guajira as a sectoral agglomerator, with contingent credit and traditional/parametric insurance. The methodology developed in this study can be applied in different contexts worldwide as a guidance for informing national and international climate risk finance initiatives.

Abstract Background Skin modification through tattoos is as old as humanity itself. However, this trend is on the rise, and with the use of different types of pigments and application practices, both cutaneous and systemic complications can arise. Adverse reactions can be grouped into five classes: inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, aesthetic, and miscellaneous. On histopathology, inflammatory reactions can exhibit a lichenoid pattern or present as spongiotic dermatitis, granulomatous reactions, pseudolymphoma, pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia, or scleroderma/morphea-like changes. This article reviews tattoo complications, including their clinical and histopathological characteristics. Methods An open search was conducted on PubMed using the terms “tattoo”, “complications”, and “skin”. No limits were set for period, language, or publication type of the articles. Results Reactions to tattoos are reported in up to 67% of people who get tattooed, with papulonodular and granulomatous reactions being the most common. Some neoplastic complications have been described, but their causality is still debated. Any pigment can cause adverse reactions, although red ink is more frequently associated with them. Patients with pre-existing dermatoses may experience exacerbation or complications of their diseases when getting tattoos; therefore, this procedure is not recommended for this patient group. Conclusions Dermatological consultation is recommended before getting a tattoo, as well as a histopathological examination in case of complications. In patients who develop cutaneous inflammatory reactions following tattooing, additional studies are recommended to investigate systemic diseases such as sarcoidosis, pyoderma gangrenosum, atopic dermatitis, and neoplasms. It is important for physicians to be trained in providing appropriate care in case of complications.

Autosomal dominant Alzheimers disease (ADAD) is genetically determined, but variability in age of symptom onset suggests additional factors may influence cognitive trajectories. Although apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotype and educational attainment both influence dementia onset in sporadic AD, evidence for these effects in ADAD is limited. To investigate the effects of APOE and educational attainment on age-related cognitive trajectories in ADAD, we analyzed data from 675 Presenilin-1 E280A mutation carriers and 594 non-carriers. Here we show that age-related cognitive decline is accelerated in ADAD mutation carriers who also have an APOE e4 allele compared to those who do not and delayed in mutation carriers who also have an APOE e2 allele compared to those who do not. Educational attainment is protective and moderates the effect of APOE on cognition. Despite ADAD mutation carriers being genetically determined to develop dementia, age-related cognitive decline may be influenced by other genetic and environmental factors.

Summary: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder characterized by extracellular amyloid plaques and neuronal Tau tangles. A recent study found that the APOE3 Christchurch (APOECh) variant could delay AD progression. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we established neuron-microglia co-cultures and neuroimmune organoids using isogenic APOE3 and APOECh microglia derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with PSEN1 mutant neurons or brain organoids. We show that APOECh microglia are resistant to Aβ-induced lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis and therefore preserve the phagocytic activity and promote pTau clearance, providing mechanistic insights into the neuroprotective role of APOE3Ch microglia. Moreover, we show that an APOE mimetic peptide can mimic the protective effects of APOECh microglia. These findings demonstrate that the APOECh microglia plays a causal role in microglial neuroprotection, which can be exploited for therapeutic development for AD.

Background: There is a need to explore pharmacological options for syndrome (FMS), such as medical cannabis. The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize and analyze the available information about the effectiveness/efficacy and safety of cannabis-based products for medical use (CBPMs) and cannabis-based medicines (CBMs), in patients with FMS. Methods: Interventional or observational studies, systematic reviews and meta-analysis regarding the effectiveness/efficacy and safety of CBPMs and CBMs in patients with FMS were retrieved from the PubMed/Medline database until April 2024. Then, the information was summarized in tables, with the type of CBPM and CBM, the method used in the study and the effective-ness/efficacy and safety outcomes. Results: 19 publications were selected from the search or form the relevant references. Different CBPM and CBM were used across the studies. Also, different instruments for measuring the effectiveness were used. In general, the use of CBPMs and CBM showed an important improvement in pain, quality of life, and sleep habits. There were no serious adverse events. Conclusions: The results show that CBMPs and CBMs could be effective and safe in patients with FMS; however, the evidence is limited and there is a need for high-quality clinical studies conducted with improved methodological design.

Introduction: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a frequent disease in infants with diverse clinical evolution. Although multiple studies have assessed inflammatory changes in chronic AD, little is known about the molecular transition from symptomatic stage to clinical remission without pharmacotherapy. Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate clinical and inflammatory factors and its relationship with AD clinical evolution. Methods: Three groups of participants older than 10 years of age were recruited; 2 AD groups and 1 non-AD group. The AD-remission group (more than 1 year without AD symptoms and without pharmacotherapy), the AD-persistent group (AD symptoms and pharmacotherapy), and 1 non-AD group. We measured eosinophil peroxidase (EPX), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), IgE autoantibodies against these antigens, and natural moisturizing factor (NMF). Results: Different inflammatory profiles within each group were observed: AD-persistent group is characterized by a high frequency of IgE autoantibodies (55.5%), contrasting with the low occurrence in the non-AD group (2%) and a moderate frequency in the AD-remission group (21.4%). A similar distribution was observed for the other type 2 inflammatory biomarkers (Eosinophils, total IgE, EPX, ECP) and NMF. Conclusion: Patients with AD-remission maintain a minimal T2 inflammation. We identified different potential biomarkers for prognosis of AD evolution. Further studies are necessary to evaluate the mechanisms that allow the coexistence of the inflammatory process without clinical symptoms.

Abstract Brycon amazonicus is a species native to Brazil, with significant socioeconomic importance and immense potential for fish production. It is the second most cultivated species in the Amazon. The lack of specific molecular markers limits genetic research. This study aimed to identify species-specific microsatellite markers for B. amazonicus and analyze the genetic diversity of four fish farms: Nova Mutum, Instituto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazônia, Jatuarana, and Nova Airão. In addition, the transferability of these markers to species of the same genus (B. orbignyanus, B. falcatus, and B. gouldingi) was evaluated. Seventeen primer pairs were developed using the enriched library method. Eight of these were used for the genetic analysis of B. amazonicus stocks. In total, 47 alleles were identified. The mean endogamy coefficient (FIS) was negative and significant for Nova Mutum stocks. However, the populations of B. amazonicus in Instituto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazônia (0.179), Jatuarana (0.099), and Nova Airão were positive and nonsignificant. Analysis of molecular variance showed that most of the variation was observed within the populations evaluated (57%), and genetic differentiation (FST = 0.423) among the stocks was high. Bayesian analysis indicated that the best number of genetic clusters was K = 3. Transferability testing showed successful amplification (90%) of the primers by estimating the allele size between 144 and 294 base pairs (bp) and a total of 24 alleles for the related Brycon species. This indicates the high potential of microsatellites for the analysis of diversity and population genetic structure in both the genus Brycon and family Characidae.

Abstract Background Structural income inequality – the uneven income distribution across regions or countries – could affect brain structure and function, beyond individual differences. However, the impact of structural income inequality on the brain dynamics and the roles of demographics and cognition in these associations remains unexplored. Methods Here, we assessed the impact of structural income inequality, as measured by the Gini coefficient on multiple EEG metrics, while considering the subject‐level effects of demographic (age, sex, education) and cognitive factors. Resting‐state EEG signals were collected from a diverse sample (countries = 10; healthy individuals = 1394 from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Turkey and United Kingdom). Complexity (fractal dimension, permutation entropy, Wiener entropy, spectral structure variability), power spectral and aperiodic components (1/f slope, knee, offset), as well as graph‐theoretic measures were analysed. Findings Despite variability in samples, data collection methods, and EEG acquisition parameters, structural inequality systematically predicted electrophysiological brain dynamics, proving to be a more crucial determinant of brain dynamics than individual‐level factors. Complexity and aperiodic activity metrics captured better the effects of structural inequality on brain function. Following inequality, age and cognition emerged as the most influential predictors. The overall results provided convergent multimodal metrics of biologic embedding of structural income inequality characterised by less complex signals, increased random asynchronous neural activity, and reduced alpha and beta power, particularly over temporoposterior regions. Conclusion These findings might challenge conventional neuroscience approaches that tend to overemphasise the influence of individual‐level factors, while neglecting structural factors. Results pave the way for neuroscience‐informed public policies aimed at tackling structural inequalities in diverse populations.

ABSTRACT The study aimed to describe the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria among solid cancer (SC) patients with bloodstream infections (BSIs), evaluating inappropriate empiric antibiotic treatment (IEAT) use and mortality trends over a 25-year period. All BSI occurrences in adult SC patients at a university hospital were analyzed across five distinct five-year intervals. MDR bacteria were classified as extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL)-producing and/or Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales, non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli (GNB) resistant to at least three antibiotic classes, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci. A multivariate regression model identified the risk factors for MDR BSI. Of 6,117 BSI episodes, Gram-negative bacilli (GNB) constituted 60.4% (3,695/6,117), being the most common are Escherichia coli with 26.8% (1,637/6,117), Klebsiella spp. with 12.4% (760/6,117), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa with 8.6% (525/6,117). MDR-GNB accounted for 644 episodes (84.8% of MDR or 644/759), predominantly ESBL-producing strains (71.1% or 540/759), which escalated significantly over time. IEAT was administered in 24.8% of episodes, mainly in MDR BSI, and was associated with higher mortality (22.9% vs. 14%, P < 0.001). Independent factors for MDR BSI were prior antibiotic use [odds ratio (OR) 2.93, confidence interval (CI) 2.34–3.67], BSI during antibiotic treatment (OR 1.46, CI 1.18–1.81), biliary (OR 1.84, CI 1.34–2.52) or urinary source (OR 1.86, CI 1.43–2.43), admission period (OR) 1.28, CI 1.18–1.38, and community-acquired infection (OR 0.57, CI 0.39–0.82). The study showed an increase in MDR-GNB among SC patients with BSI. A quarter received IEAT, which was linked to increased mortality. Improving risk assessment for MDR infections and the judicious prescription of empiric antibiotics are crucial for better outcomes.IMPORTANCEMultidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria pose a global public health threat as they are more challenging to treat, and they are on the rise. Solid cancer patients are often immunocompromised due to their disease and cancer treatments, making them more susceptible to infections. Understanding the changes and trends in bloodstream infections in solid cancer patients is crucial, to help physicians make informed decisions about appropriate antibiotic therapies, manage infections in this vulnerable population, and prevent infection. Solid cancer patients often require intensive and prolonged treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Infections can complicate these treatments, leading to treatment delays, increased healthcare costs, and poorer patient outcomes. Investigating new strategies to combat MDR infections and researching novel antibiotics in these patients is of paramount importance to avoid these negative impacts.

We characterized the world's second case with ascertained extreme resilience to autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease (ADAD). Side-by-side comparisons of this male case and the previously reported female case with ADAD homozygote for the APOE3 Christchurch (APOECh) variant allowed us to discern common features. The male remained cognitively intact until 67 years of age despite carrying a PSEN1-E280A mutation. Like the APOECh carrier, he had extremely elevated amyloid plaque burden and limited entorhinal Tau tangle burden. He did not carry the APOECh variant but was heterozygous for a rare variant in RELN (H3447R, termed COLBOS after the Colombia-Boston biomarker research study), a ligand that like apolipoprotein E binds to the VLDLr and APOEr2 receptors. RELN-COLBOS is a gain-of-function variant showing stronger ability to activate its canonical protein target Dab1 and reduce human Tau phosphorylation in a knockin mouse. A genetic variant in a case protected from ADAD suggests a role for RELN signaling in resilience to dementia.

Objetivo: Explorar la frecuencia de la presencia de síntomas de trastornos de conducta alimentaria y de la ingesta de alimentos en mujeres solicitantes de procedimientos de contorno corporal, en un centro de estética de Medellín-Colombia. Metodología: Estudio transversal, con 107 mujeres de 18 a 50 años. Se tomaron datos antropométricos, se implementó la versión en español del Eating Disorders Examination Questionnaire. Los datos se analizaron mediante frecuencias relativas y medidas de resumen y se realizó un análisis bivariado. Se construyeron modelos de regresión logística, con la significancia global como variable dependiente. Resultados: Hubo significancia clínica para riesgo de trastornos de conducta alimentaria y trastornos de la ingesta de alimentos en 6,5 % de las mujeres y en cada subescala del cuestionario (restricción: 3,7 %; preocupación por la comida: 4,7 %; por la figura: 36,4 %; y por el peso: 20,6 %). El 98 % reportó al menos un síntoma relacionado con los trastornos de conducta alimentaria y trastornos de la ingesta de alimentos. Se halló significación estadística entre la edad, el índice de masa corporal y la significancia clínica global del cuestionario. Al considerar la preocupación por la figura como variable dependiente, se identificó significación estadística en el perímetro de cintura rp = 1,14 (1,07-1,21). Conclusión: Hay presencia de síntomas y casos probables de trastornos de conducta alimentaria y trastornos de la ingesta de alimentos en mujeres solicitantes de procedimientos de contorno corporal, encontrando preocupación por su figura y realización de conductas que pueden afectar la salud. Se sugiere implementar protocolos de tamizaje para confirmar la posible aparición de estos trastornos y atenderlos oportunamente
