الأهداف: هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن العلاقة بين أبعاد القيادة الريادية وجودة الحياة الوظيفية لدى القادة الأكاديميين من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات الأردنية. المنهجية: تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (147) عضو هيئة تدريس تم اختبارهم بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة. تم استخدام الاستبانة لتحقيق أغراض الدراسة، وتكونت من (49) فقرة موزعة على بعدين: (أبعاد القيادة الريادية وجودة الحياة الوظيفية)، وذلك بعد لتأكد من صدقها وثباتها. النتائج: أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن مستوى أبعاد القيادة الريادية جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، وجاء مستوى جودة الحياة الوظيفية بدرجة متوسطة. كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود علاقة إيجابية دالة إحصائيا بين أبعاد القيادة الريادية:(الرؤية الاستراتيجية، المبادأة، الإبداع، المخاطرة، استثمار الفرص) وجودة الحياة الوظيفية. الخلاصة: توصي الدراسة بزيادة وعي القادة الأكاديميين بأهمية تطبيق القيادة الريادية وانعكاسها على تحسين جودة الحياة الوظيفية في الجامعةمن خلال عقد الدورات التدريبية والتثقيفية لتعزيز مهارات القادة الأكاديميين في مجال القيادة الريادية وتطويرها وتنميتها.

هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى العلاقة بين تطبيق أبعاد القيادة الاصيلة لدى مدراء المدارس الثانوية الحكومية في محافظة جرش وتحسين الأداء الوظيفى للمعلمين من وجهة نظرهم، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة والإجابة عن أسئلتها تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي من خلال تطوير أداة الدراسة، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (315) معلما ومعلمة تم اختبارهم بالطريقة العشوائية المتيسرة، تم استخدام الاستبانة لتحقيق أغراض الدراسة وتكونت من (32) فقرة موزعة على بعدين: (أبعاد القيادة الأصيلة وتحسين الأداء الوظيفي)، بعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن مستوى تطبيق أبعاد القيادة الأصيلة جاءت بدرجة مرتفعة، وجاء مستوى تحسين الأداء الوظيفي بدرجة مرتفعة. كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود علاقة إيجابية دالة إحصائيا بين تطبيق أبعاد القيادة الأصيلة وتحسين الأداء الوظيفي. وبناء على ما توصلت إليه الدراسة من نتائج تمت التوصية بتنمية مهارات مدراء المدارس لتمكينهم من تكوين رؤية واضحة عن أفضل الممارسات للقيادة الأصيلة وعلاقتها بتحسين الأداء الوظيفي من خلال عقد البرامج والدورات التدريبية.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the G x E (genotype × environment) interaction using AMMI and GGE-biplot analysis for sugar yield of sugarcane genotypes and identify stable clones in the old sugar estates of Ethiopia. Eleven sugarcane clones plus one control clone were evaluated during three crop cycles (plant cane and first and second ratoon crops) in eight environments. The experiment was laid out as randomized complete block design with three replicates in over 3 years and locations. Adaptability and phenotypic stability of the sugarcane clones were evaluated using Additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) and Genotype main effect and genotype x environment interaction (GGE). AMMI analyses revealed significant (P < 0.01) genotype and environmental effects as well as G × E with respect to sugar yield. In the analysis of variance, 48.8% of the sugar yield variation was explained by the environment, 16.9% by differences among genotypes, and 16.8% by GE interaction. GGE-biplot models showed that the eight environments used for the study belonged to two mega-environments. According to AMMI and the GGE results, clones G3 (FG05-424), the check variety G5 (NCO334), and G10 (FG06-750) were the most productive in tons of sugar per hectare and stable and recommended for the test environments.

The thermal interaction between two heat dissipators on a copper clad ceramic substrate is investigated in terms of the device spacing, copper layer thickness, the metallization layer's thermal conductivity and the thermal nvironment due to the heat sink. The evaluation revealed that thermal association may be prevented by adequate device spacing depending on the substrate material, the metallization layer's thickness and the external heat sink.

Abstract Vorinostat (Zolinza®), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in October 2006 for the treatment of cutaneous manifestations in patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma who have progressive, persistent or recurrent disease on or following two systemic therapies. This review summarizes evidence on the use of vorinostat in solid and hematologic malignancies and collated tolerability data from the vorinostat clinical trial program. Pooled vorinostat clinical trial data from 498 patients with solid or hematologic malignancies show that vorinostat was well tolerated as monotherapy or combination therapy. The most commonly reported drug-related adverse events (AEs) associated with monotherapy (n = 341) were fatigue (61.9%), nausea (55.7%), diarrhea (49.3%), anorexia (48.1%), and vomiting (32.8%), and Grade 3/4 drug-related AEs included fatigue (12.0%), thrombocytopenia (10.6%), dehydration (7.3%), and decreased platelet count (5.3%). The most common drug-related AEs observed with vorinostat in combination therapy (n = 157, most of whom received vorinostat 400 mg qd for 14 days) were nausea (48.4%), diarrhea (40.8%), fatigue (34.4%), vomiting (31.2%), and anorexia (20.4%), with the majority of AEs being Grade 2 or less. In Phase I trials, combinations with vorinostat were generally well tolerated and preliminary evidence of anticancer activity as monotherapy or in combination with other systemic therapies has been observed across a range of malignancies. Ongoing and planned studies will further evaluate the potential of vorinostat in combination therapy, including combinations with radiation, in patients with diverse malignancy types, including non-small-cell lung cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndrome.

Abstract Background The timed-sequential chemotherapy regimen consisting of etoposide, mitoxantrone and cytarabine (EMA) is an effective therapy for relapsed or refractory acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). We postulated that granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) might enhance the cytotoxicity of EMA by increasing the proportion of leukemic blasts in S-phase. We added G-CSF to EMA (EMA-G) for therapy of advanced high-risk AML patients. Methods High-risk AML was defined as refractory, relapsed or secondary to either an antecedent hematologic disorder or exposure to cytotoxic agents. The patients were treated with one course of EMA-G consisting of mitoxantrone and cytarabine on days 1–3, and etoposide and cytarabine on days 8–10. G-CSF was started on day 4 and continued until absolute neutrophil count recovered. Results Thirty patients were enrolled. The median age was 51 years (range, 25–75). Seventeen (61%) patients had unfavorable cytogenetic karyotypes. Twenty (69%) patients had secondary AML. Ten (34%) had relapsed disease. Four (14%) had refractory AML. Three (10%) patients died from febrile neutropenia and sepsis. Major non-hematologic toxicity included hyperbilirubimenia, renal insufficiency, mucositis, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, skin rash. A complete remission was achieved in 13 (46%) patients. Median overall survival was 9 months (range, 0.5–66). Median relapse-free survival (RFS) for those who had a CR was 3 months (range, 0.5–63) with RFS censored at the time of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation or peripheral stem cell transplantation for 6 of the patients. Conclusions EMA-G is a safe and efficacious option for induction chemotherapy in advanced, high-risk AML patients. The activity of EMA may be increased if applied in patients with less advanced disease.

Background: Breast cancer is the most commonly identified dangerous cancer in females. While breast cancer has been recorded to be a source of female mortality in many developing countries, studies have shown that bronchogenic carcinoma exceeds breast cancer as the most common reason of female mortality. Objective: This study aims at evaluating the role of (clinical examination, radiological finding and histopathological finding) in detection of breast cancer in Baquba Teaching Hospital. Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited ambulatory patients at outpatient breast clinic unit in a Baquba Teaching Hospital from 1st of January to 31th of May 2019. Results: This study showed that while 39 (93%) of breast cancer patients had a positive finding on clinical examination, only 3 (7%) had a negative finding. On the other hand our data showed that 35 (83%) of breast cancer patients had positive radiological findings and only 7 (17%) of breast cancer patients had negative radiological findings. 42 (100%) of breast cancer patients have shown positive histopathological findings. Conclusion: Triple assessment is a very useful diagnostic tool to evaluate patients with breast lumps and detect patients with breast cancer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The restriction to the guidelines for postoperative management (as omission of routine use of nasogastric tubes, early institution of oral feeding and mobilization and clarified indications of administration of intravenous fluids) has resulted in a decrease in perioperative intravenous fluid administration in fast-track surgical programs (in particular day case surgeries). In minor to intermediate surgeries, shifting of perioperative fluids are small and organ dysfunctions are minimum. Objective: To establish fluid abuse postoperatively following minor and intermediate surgeries. Patients and Methods: This is a prospective study done in Iraq-Diyala-Baquba teaching hospital over a period of one year from January 2018 - January 2019.The case sheets of 640 elective surgical cases had been reviewed for the intravenous fluid prescription after surgery. The types of surgeries reviewed were those which theoretically based, do not need postoperative intravenous fluid administration or shouldn't be given for more than few hours; but should start early oral fluid. The emergency cases were excluded from this study. The data collected from the case sheets of different elective surgeries in the surgical ward. The 640 patients who underwent elective mild to intermediate surgeries. Results: Of those who underwent surgeries under general anesthesia, it has been found that 288 out of 390 patients (90%) were given intravenous fluid postoperatively for a period from 8- 24 hours. Of those who underwent surgeries under spinal anesthesia, it has been found that 134 out of 174 patients (77%) patients were given intravenous fluid postoperatively for a period from 8- 12 hours. Of those who underwent surgeries under local anesthesia, it has been found that 36 out of 76 patients (47%) were given intravenous fluid postoperatively for a period from 8- 12 hours. The volume of fluid prescribed ranged from 500ml to 2 liters. Conclusion: Routine prescription of intravenous fluids following minor to intermediate surgeries is theoretically unsupported and is unnecessary most of the time as far as the patient is maintained well hydrated intraoperatively.
