Against the backdrop of rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIOT) and sensing technologies, there is a growing demand for indoor location-based services (LBSs). This paper proposes a through-the-wall localization and tracking (TWPT) system based on an improved ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) radar to achieve more accurate localization of indoor moving targets. The TWPT system overcomes the limitations of traditional localization methods, such as multipath effects and environmental interference, using the high penetration and high accuracy of IR-UWB radar based on multi-sensor fusion technology. In the study, an improved Kalman filter (KF) algorithm is used for clutter reduction, while the CLEAN algorithm, combined with a compensation mechanism, is utilized to increase the target detection probability. Finally, a three-point localization estimation algorithm based on multi-IR-UWB radar is applied for the precise position and trajectory estimation of the target. Experimental validation indicates the TWPT system achieves a high positioning accuracy of 96.91%, with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.082 m and a Maximum Position Error (MPE) of 0.259 m. Breathing is one of the body's most basic functions and abnormal breathing can indicate underlying cardiopulmonary problems. Monitoring respiratory abnormalities can help with early detection and reduce the risk of cardiopulmonary diseases. In this study, a 77 GHz frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) millimetre-wave (mmWave) radar was used to detect different types of respiratory signals from the human body in a non-contact manner for respiratory monitoring (RM). To solve the problem of noise interference in the daily environment on the recognition of different breathing patterns, the system utilised breathing signals captured by the millimetre-wave radar. Firstly, we filtered out most of the static noise using a signal superposition method and designed an elliptical filter to obtain a more accurate image of the breathing waveforms between 0.1 Hz and 0.5 Hz. Secondly, combined with the histogram of oriented gradient (HOG) feature extraction algorithm, K-nearest neighbours (KNN), convolutional neural network (CNN), and HOG support vector machine (G-SVM) were used to classify four breathing modes, namely, normal breathing, slow and deep breathing, quick breathing, and meningitic breathing. Significant strides have been made in the field of WiFi-based human activity recognition, yet recent wireless sensing methodologies still grapple with the reliance on copious amounts of data. When assessed in unfamiliar domains, the majority of models experience a decline in accuracy. To address this challenge, this study introduces Wi-CHAR, a novel few-shot learning-based cross-domain activity recognition system. Wi-CHAR is meticulously designed to tackle both the intricacies of specific sensing environments and pertinent data-related issues. Initially, Wi-CHAR employs a dynamic selection methodology for sensing devices, tailored to mitigate the diminished sensing capabilities observed in specific regions within a multi-WiFi sensor device ecosystem, thereby augmenting the fidelity of sensing data. Subsequent refinement involves the utilization of the MF-DBSCAN clustering algorithm iteratively, enabling the rectification of anomalies and enhancing the quality of subsequent behavior recognition processes. Furthermore, the Re-PN module is consistently engaged, dynamically adjusting feature prototype weights to facilitate cross-domain activity sensing in scenarios with limited sample data, effectively distinguishing between accurate and noisy data samples, thus streamlining the identification of new users and environments. The experimental results show that the average accuracy is more than 93% (five-shot) in various scenarios. Even in cases where the target domain has fewer data samples, better cross-domain results can be achieved. Notably, evaluation on publicly available datasets, WiAR and Widar 3.0, corroborates Wi-CHAR's robust performance, boasting accuracy rates of 89.7% and 92.5%, respectively. In summary, Wi-CHAR delivers recognition outcomes on par with state-of-the-art methodologies, meticulously tailored to accommodate specific sensing environments and data constraints. To address the limitations of wireless sensing in static gesture recognition and the issues of Computer Vision's dependence on lighting conditions, we propose a method that utilizes millimeter-wave near-field SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging for static gesture recognition. First, a millimeter-wave near-field SAR imaging system is used to scan the defined static gestures to obtain data. Then, based on the distance plane, the three-dimensional gesture is divided into multiple two-dimensional planes, constructing an imaging dataset. Finally, an HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients) is used to extract features from the imaging results, PCA (Principal Component Analysis) is applied for feature dimensionality reduction, and RF (Random Forest) performs classification. Experimental verification shows that the proposed method achieves an average recognition precision of 97% in unobstructed situations and 93% in obstructed situations, providing an effective means for wireless-sensing-based static gesture recognition. As the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIOT) and ubiquitous sensing technologies have been leaping forward, numerous scholars have placed a greater focus on the use of Impulse Radio Ultra-Wide Band (IR-UWB) radar signals for Region of Interest (ROI) population estimation. To address the problem concerning the fact that existing algorithms or models cannot accurately detect the number of people counted in ROI from low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) received signals, an effective 1DCNN-LSTM model was proposed in this study to accurately detect the number of targets even in low-SNR environments with considerable people. First, human-induced excess kurtosis was detected by setting a threshold using the optimized CLEAN algorithm. Next, the preprocessed IR-UWB radar signal pulses were bundled into frames, and the resulting peaks were grouped to develop feature vectors. Subsequently, the sample set was trained based on the 1DCNN-LSTM algorithm neural network structure. In this study, the IR-UWB radar signal data were acquired from different real environments with different numbers of subjects (0–10). As indicated by the experimental results, the average accuracy of the proposed 1DCNN-LSTM model for the recognition of people counting reached 86.66% at ROI. With the popularization of Wi-Fi router devices, the application of device-free sensing has garnered significant attention due to its potential to make our lives more convenient. Wi-Fi signal-based through-the-wall human detection offers practical applications, such as emergency rescue and elderly monitoring. However, the accuracy of through-the-wall human detection is hindered by signal attenuation caused by wall materials and multiple propagation paths of interference. Therefore, through-the-wall human detection presents a substantial challenge. In this paper, we proposed a highly robust through-the-wall human detection method based on a commercial Wi-Fi device (TwSense). To mitigate interference from wall materials and other environmental factors, we employed the robust principal component analysis (OR-PCA) method to extract the target signal of Channel State Information (CSI). Subsequently, we segmented the action-induced Doppler shift feature image using the K-means clustering method. The features of the images were extracted using the Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) algorithm. Finally, these features were fed into an SVM classifier (G-SVM) optimized by a grid search algorithm for action classification and recognition, thereby enhancing human detection accuracy. Emotions significantly impact human physical and mental health, and, therefore, emotion recognition has been a popular research area in neuroscience, psychology, and medicine. In this paper, we preprocess the raw signals acquired by millimeter-wave radar to obtain high-quality heartbeat and respiration signals. Then, we propose a deep learning model incorporating a convolutional neural network and gated recurrent unit neural network in combination with human face expression images. The model achieves a recognition accuracy of 84.5% in person-dependent experiments and 74.25% in person-independent experiments.
