Abstract

Cooperative LiDAR systems integrating vehicles and road infrastructure, termed V2I calibration, exhibit substantial potential, yet their deployment encounters numerous challenges. A pivotal aspect of ensuring data accuracy and consistency across such systems involves the calibration of LiDAR units across heterogeneous vehicular and infrastructural endpoints. This necessitates the development of calibration methods that are both real-time and robust, particularly those that can ensure robust performance in urban canyon scenarios without relying on initial positioning values. Accordingly, this paper introduces a novel approach to V2I calibration, leveraging spatial association information among perceived objects. Central to this method is the innovative Overall Intersection over Union (oIoU) metric, which quantifies the correlation between targets identified by vehicle and infrastructure systems, thereby facilitating the real-time monitoring of calibration results. Our approach involves identifying common targets within the perception results of vehicle and infrastructure LiDAR systems through the construction of an affinity matrix. These common targets then form the basis for the calculation and optimization of extrinsic parameters. Comparative and ablation studies conducted using the DAIR-V2X dataset substantiate the superiority of our approach. Abstract

Analog layout design heavily involves interactive processes between humans and design tools. The tools are usually designed to use scripting commands or visualized buttons for manipulation, especially for those interactive automation functionalities, which have a steep learning curve and cumbersome user experience, making a notable barrier to their adoption by designers. Aiming to address such a usability issue, this paper introduces LayoutCopilot, a pioneering multi-agent collaborative framework powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) for interactive analog layout design. LayoutCopilot simplifies human-tool interaction by converting natural language instructions into executable script commands, and it interprets high-level design intents into actionable suggestions, significantly streamlining the design process. Abstract

Analog Computing-in-Memory (ACIM) is an emerging architecture to perform efficient AI edge computing. However, current ACIM designs usually have unscalable topology and still heavily rely on manual efforts. These drawbacks limit the ACIM application scenarios and lead to an undesired time-to-market. This work proposes an end-to-end automated ACIM based on a synthesizable architecture (EasyACIM). With a given array size and customized cell library, EasyACIM can generate layouts for ACIMs with various design specifications end-to-end automatically. Leveraging the multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA)-based design space explorer, EasyACIM can obtain high-quality ACIM solutions based on the proposed synthesizable architecture, targeting versatile application scenarios. The ACIM solutions given by EasyACIM have a wide design space and competitive performance compared to the state-of-the-art (SOTA) ACIMs.

4. Post-Layout Simulation Driven Analog Circuit Sizing

Abstract

Post-layout simulation provides accurate guidance for analog circuit design, but post-layout performance is hard to be directly optimized at early design stages. Prior work on analog circuit sizing often utilizes pre-layout simulation results as the optimization objective. In this work, we propose a post-layout-simulation-driven (post-simulation-driven for short) analog circuit sizing framework that directly optimizes the post-layout simulation performance. The framework integrates automated layout generation into the optimization loop of transistor sizing and leverages a coupled Bayesian optimization algorithm to search for the best post-simulation performance. Experimental results demonstrate that our framework can achieve over 20% better post-layout performance in competitive time than manual design and the method that only considers pre-layout optimization.

Abstract

Physalis pubescens and Physalis alkekengi, members of the Physalis genus, are valued for their delicious and medicinal fruits as well as their different ripened fruit colors—golden for P. pubescens and scarlet for P. alkekengi. This study aimed to elucidate the pigment composition and genetic mechanisms during fruit maturation in these species. Fruit samples were collected at four development stages, analyzed using spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and complemented with transcriptome sequencing to assess gene expression related to pigment biosynthesis. β-carotene was identified as the dominant pigment in P. pubescens, contrasting with P. alkekengi, which contained both lycopene and β-carotene. The carotenoid biosynthesis pathway was central to fruit pigmentation in both species. Key genes pf02G043370 and pf06G178980 in P. pubescens, and TRINITY_DN20150_c1_g3, TRINITY_DN10183_c0_g1, and TRINITY_DN23805_c0_g3 in P. alkekengi were associated with carotenoid production. Notably, the MYB-related and bHLH transcription factors (TFs) regulated zeta-carotene isomerase and β-hydroxylase activities in P. pubescens with the MYB-related TF showing dual regulatory roles. In P. alkekengi, six TF families—bHLH, HSF, WRKY, M-type MADS, AP2, and NAC—were implicated in controlling carotenoid synthesis enzymes. Our findings highlight the intricate regulatory network governing pigmentation and provide insights into Physalis germplasm's genetic improvement and conservation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

China's dragon culture has a long history in the Chinese nation for thousands of years, and has become a spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation, and the cultural inculcation of the traditional dragon images has penetrated into many aspects of Chinese society. It is a kind of historical condensation and cultural accumulation of the Chinese nation. The Historic Evolution of the Auspicious Beast Dragon In China, the traditional Chinese culture of the Auspicious Beast Dragon is one of the earliest in origin, longest in duration, and most influential. This project integrates the traditional Forbidden City Auspicious Beasts into the packaging of cultural and creative products, and explores the cultural connotation, historical significance, and expression of the traditional Chinese Auspicious Beasts pattern. Firstly, the background and influence of traditional Chinese mythical beast graphics in China are outlined; secondly, traditional Chinese mythical beasts are classified, analyzed for their artistic characteristics, culture, forms of expression and the symbolism behind them, and the image of mythical beasts from the Forbidden City is used as the basis for the design, and the commercial value and scope of dissemination of the mythical beasts culture can be brought about in cultural and creative packaging design is analyzed; ultimately, a series of packaging design of "Four Seasons mythical beasts" is presented, so that traditional mythical beasts culture can enter the public's vision and make more people understand China's excellent traditional culture. Four Seasons Auspicious Beasts" cultural and creative packaging design series, so that the traditional Auspicious Beasts culture into the public's field of vision, so that more people understand the excellent traditional Chinese culture. Abstract

Surface scratch has significant influence on the fatigue behavior of Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr. In this paper, fatigue test with three different surface roughness are conducted, test results are recorded, including test data and fracture characteristics. The distribution of test data is analyzed and the fracture characteristics are discussed according to the change of surface roughness. Study of fatigue behavior of Ti-5Al-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr with surface roughness is significant intheoretical and engineering fatigue study.

Abstract

Conventional cross-laminated timber is an engineered wood product consisting of solid-sawn lumber panels glued together. In this study, the structural behavior of solid wood panels of Nail-Cross-Laminated Timber (NCLT) panels connected with nails instead of glue was studied. The failure mode and nail deformation of the novel NCLT panels under axial compression load using eight full-scale NCLT panels was investigated. The effects of four key design parameters, namely, the nail type, number of nails, nail orientation angle, and nail slenderness ratio on axial compression performance of NCLT panels were also analyzed. In addition, a formula for predicting the axial compression bearing capacity of NCLT panels was developed. For calculation of the slenderness ratio, the moment of inertia of the full section or the effective section was determined based on the nail type, number of nails, angle of nail orientation and number of layers of the plate. Results showed that specimens connected by tapping screws had best compressive performance.

Abstract

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is an innovative wood panel composite that has been attracting growing interest worldwide. Apart from its economic benefits, CLT takes full advantage of both the tensile strength parallel to the wood grain and its compressive strength perpendicular to the grain, which enhances the load bearing capacity of the composite. However, traditional CLT panels are made with glue, which can expire and lose effectiveness over time, compromising the CLT panel mechanical strength. To mitigate such shortcomings of conventional CLT panels, we pioneer herein nail-cross-laminated timber (NCLT) panels with more reliable connection system. This study investigates the flexural performance of NCLT panels made with different types of nails and explores the effects of key design parameters including the nail incidence angle, nail type, total number of nails, and number of layers. Results show that NCLT panels have better flexural performance than traditional CLT panels. The failure mode of NCLT panels depends on the nail angle, nail type, and quantity of nails. A modified formula for predicting the flexural bearing capacity of NCLT panels was proposed and proven accurate. The findings could blaze the trail for potential applications of NCLT panels as a sustainable and resilient construction composite for lightweight structures.

Abstract

The mesoscopic dendrite growth model in the solidification process of molten steel is established, based on the cellular automata model. To accurately describe the TiN nucleation process, a heterogeneous nucleation model was used to describe the TiN nucleation process. The accuracy of the dendrite growth model is verified by comparing the CA model and Lipton–Glicksman–Kurz (LGK) analytical model. The growth process of TiN precipitates was simulated by dynamic mesh generation. Meanwhile, the influence of grid anisotropy on dendrite growth is greatly weakened by introducing the decentered square algorithm, and the growth of the equiaxed crystal in all directions is simulated. The results show that the calculated results of the model are in good agreement with the volume and morphology of TiN observed in the experiment. Meanwhile, it is found that the smaller TiN will dissolve at the end of solidification, and there will be a re-precipitation. The precipitation time of High-N and High-Ti alloy systems with the same concentration product is basically the same, but the final precipitation solid fraction of TiN inclusions in High-N (small Ti/N) alloy is larger. N element is the decisive factor of TiN precipitation.

37. Removal of color from simulated textile wastewater by a modified dicyandiamide-formaldehyde polymeric flocculant

Abstract

Dicyandiamide-formaldehyde condensation product shows excellent decolorization performance for dyeing wastewater. The cross-linking agent plays an important role in the decolorization performance. In this work, a three-dimensional modified dicyandiamide-formaldehyde decolorizing decolorant (defined as DF1) was synthesized using hexamethylenetetramine as the three-dimensional cross-linking agent. The influences of dosage of DF1, settling time, settling temperature, pH value and inorganic salt on the flocculation ability of DF1were investigated. The existence of inorganic salt has a slight effect on the color removal of DF1. The maximum color removal of 98.8% was achieved with the DF1dosage of 35 mg/L. The infrared spectra of samples demonstrate that chemical reactions occurred between DF1and Reactive Brilliant Red X-3B.

Abstract

One of the advantages of numerical simulations over traditional experimental methodologies is that they can synchronize nucleation, growth and coarsening during solidification from the point of view of microstructural analysis. However, the computational cost and accuracy are bottlenecks restricting simulation approaches. Here, two cellular automaton (CA) modules with different grid dimensions are coupled to form a cross-scale model in order to simulate MnS precipitation, accompanied by the matrix growth of dendrites during the solidification of a Fe-C-Mn-S steel, where the matrix growth is computed through the CA module with large grids based on the solute conservation and the undercooling of thermal, constitutional, and curvature, and increments of solid fraction of MnS are solved in combination with the transient thermodynamic equilibrium on the locally re-meshed grids once the MnS precipitation is formed. We utilize the cross-scale mode to illustrate MnS evolution in a solidifying matrix and explain the reason why it coexists in three shapes. Further, we study the effects of the content of elements Mn and S on MnS precipitation based on two continuously cast steel objects, with the factor of concentration product fixed as a constant. A re-precipitation of MnS is observed during the solidification of a system with a high content of Mn and low content of S. Simultaneous computation using cross-scale modeling can effectively save on computational resources, and the simulation results agree well with the experimental cases, which confirm its reliable accuracy.

Unrestricted, This paper is for the purpose of designing a public relations campaign for the iconic liquor brands of one of China's largest liquor companies, Luzhou Laojiao .; As liquor markets expand in China, Luzhou Laojiao decides to capture this growth and increase its iconic brand's sales revenue. The public relations campaign will support this goal focusing on increasing the brand's nationwide recognition.; The paper initially covers the internal and external environment to determine the company's overall situation. Then it summarizes desk research results to decipher the communication experiences in the iconic liquor field. It also conducts media coverage analysis and focus group study to collect necessary information for campaign design.; Based on the research results, the paper identifies three communication goals that will effectively help the company to support the company's business goals: increase the nationwide brand awareness, highlight the brand's unique features, and enhance the corporate image. Finally, the paper outlines a series of strategies and tactics to achieve those communication goals.
