Today, while transportation is constantly moving forward, costs are increasing. The aim is to obtain light structures that are suitable in terms of weight, sufficient in strength, and to save materials and energy. Axles are not only used in transport vehicles, but also in buses, automobiles and forklifts. Axles must be of a reliable structure due to their place of use. The external effects that the axles are generally exposed to are the applied loads. In this study, the mechanical damage analysis of the axle shaft and the characteristic changes in steel materials as a result of static loading were investigated numerically. In order to observe the mechanical behavior of the axle shaft under various loading conditions, mechanical tests should be supported by numerical analysis. Because the physical causes of damage development can be understood through numerical analysis. The aim of our study is to reach the most suitable values in the design of the variables with the optimization technique of the axle shaft made of AISI 1035 steel. Optimum values were obtained by performing numerical analyzes of the axle shaft designed with Solidworks program. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that deformation occurred at the ends of the axle.

Nanopartiküller birçok alanda kullanıldığı gibi kompozit malzemeler alanında da kullanılmaktadır. Konstrüksiyon sektörü de kompozit malzemeler için yeni bir alan olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Konstrüksiyon sektöründeki özel ihtiyaçlar birçok fırsat doğurmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 5 farklı katman yapısında nanopartikül takviyesiz ve kütlece farklı oranlarda (%0.5, %1 ve %3) Al2O3, CuO ve MgO nanopartikül takviyeli olarak üretilen dokuma tip kompozit malzemeler yorulma testlerine tabi tutulmuştur. Yorulma testlerine başlamadan önce, numunelerin sadece çekme-basma yönündeki yüklere maruz kalması ve eğilme momentinden etkilenmemesi için kompozit malzemelerin uçlarına 40x25mm ölçülerinde parçalar yapıştırılmıştır. Yorulma testleri Batman Üniversitesi Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü Laboratuvarı’nda bulunan Shimadzu marka 100 kN’lik yük hücresine sahip Servo-Hidrolik Yorulma test cihazı ile yapılmıştır. Numunelerin yorulma limitlerini belirlemek için R=-0.1 yük oranı, 6 Hz frekans ve sinüs dalgası şeklinde yük uygulanarak yorulma testleri yapılmıştır. Yorulma deneyleri sonrasında nanopartikül takviyeli ve takviyesiz olarak üretilen dokuma tip kompozit malzemelerin Yük Seviyesi (%) – Çevrim Sayısı (N) diyagramları, sönümleme oranları ve histerezis eğrileri incelenmiş, elde edilen sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Ayrıca dokuma tip kompozit malzemelerde oluşan hasar mekanizmalarının SEM (Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu) analizleri yapılmıştır. En yüksek yorulma ömürleri ve sönümleme oranları KM-3 katman yapısına sahip nanopartikül takviyeli ve takviyesiz olarak üretilen kompozit malzemelerde tespit edilmiştir. Üretim açısından tavsiye edilen dokuma kompozit malzemeler KM-3 katman yapılı numunelerdir. Nanopartikül takviyeli ve takviyesiz üretilen dokuma kompozit malzemelerde genel olarak simetrik histerezis eğrileri oluştuğundan deformasyon davranışlarının lineer elastik olduğu anlaşılmaktadır., In recent years, the importance of nanoparticles, which are high-tech products, has been increasing. Nanoparticles are used in many fields as well as in the field of composite materials. One of the new application areas for composites in recent years is the construction sector. The special requirements in this industry offer many opportunities. The most important feature of composites consisting of a combination of glass and carbon fiber resin is the capacity to produce endless new materials according to the quality of the selected material. In this study, woven type composite materials produced with 5 different layer structures without nanoparticle reinforcement and with different ratios by mass (0.5%, 1% and 3%) with Al2O3, CuO and MgO nanoparticle reinforcement were subjected to fatigue tests. Before starting the fatigue tests, pieces of 40x25mm were attached to the ends of the composite materials so that the samples were only subjected to loads in the tensile and compression direction and not affected by bending moment. Fatigue tests were carried out with a Shimadzu Servo-Hydraulic Fatigue Tester with 100 kN load cell in the Laboratory of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Batman University. In order to determine the fatigue limits of the samples, fatigue tests were carried out by applying R=-0.1 load ratio, 6 Hz frequency and sine wave load. After fatigue tests, Load level (%) – Cycle number (N) diagrams, damping ratios and hysteresis loops of woven type composite materials produced with and without nanoparticle reinforcement were examined and the results were interpreted. In addition, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) analyzes of damage mechanisms in woven composite materials were investigated. The highest fatigue cycles and damping ratios were determined in woven composites with KM-3 stacking sequence. Woven composites recommended for production were samples with KM-3 stacking sequence. Since generally symmetrical hysteresis curves occured in woven composite materials produced with and without nanoparticle reinforcement, the deformation behavior was thought to be linear elastic.

Snow plow equipment is produced with chassis connections suitable for trucks, pickup trucks, tractors, construction machines and pick-ups and mounted in front of the vehicles. In this study, the stress and deflection values of the safety pin used in snow plow equipment will be examined by testing with finite element analysis. In this study, a damaged safety pin was analyzed numerically. The damaged safety pin was modeled with Solidworks package program and stress analysis was performed by ANSYS Workbench package program. In this analysis, the properties of the safety pin made of St37 steel were used. As a result , it was observed that the safety pin was damaged due to the stress distribution.

Bu çalışmada jute tipi kumaşlardan üretilmiş kompozit malzemelerin mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Kompozit malzemeler, yapıştırıcı malzemesi kullanılarak 11 katman olacak şekilde üretilmiş olup verilen ölçü ve değerlere göre kesilmiştir. Elde edilen numuneler çekme deneyine tabi tutulmuştur. Verilere göre alüminyum tozun kompozit numunede daha sağlam bir yapı oluşturduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Deneysel olarak elde edilen sonuçlar tablo ve grafik olarak sunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak; partikül katkılı yapıştırıcı kullanılmasıyla elde edilen kompozit malzemelerin çekme hasar yükünün arttığı görülmüştür., In this study, mechanical properties of composite materials produced from jute type fabrics were investigated. Composite materials were produced as 11 layers using adhesive material and cut according to given dimensions and values. The obtained samples were subjected to tensile test. it has been observed that the aluminum powder forms a more resistant structure. Experimental results are presented in tables and graphs. As a result; it has been observed that the tensile damage load of the composite materials obtained by using the particle additive adhesive is increased.

Yapıştırma kaynak, lehim, perçin ve cıvata gibi farklı birleştirme yöntemlerine alternatif olarak kullanılan bir imalat yöntemidir. Özellikle bağlantı güvenirliliğinin önemli olduğu havacılık, uzay, otomotiv, inşaat ve deniz endüstrilerinde yapıştırıcıların kullanımı giderek artmaktadır. Yapıştırma yöntemi ile farklı özellik ve kalınlıklardaki malzemelerin bağlantılarında düzgün bir gerilme dağılımı sağlanarak, daha ekonomik ve daha hafif bir şekilde birleştirilebilir. Bu çalışmada, yapıştırma yöntemi ile farklı çentik geometrisine sahip parçaların tamirinin yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, 2mm kalınlık, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm genişlik ve 112.5mm uzunluğa sahip alüminyum levhaların çentik ağız derinliği a=2mm, 4mm, 6mm ve çentik ağız yüksekliği b= 8mm olarak çentikler açılmış, daha sonra bu çentikli numuneler ebatları 40mm-25mm, 40mm-30mm, 40mm-35mm olan alüminyum yamalarla tamir edilmiştir. Elde edilen levhaların mekanik davranışları deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Yama ile tamir edilmiş malzemelerin hasar yüklerinin yamasız malzemelerden daha fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir., Adhesives are alternative joining techniques which can be used instead of different manufacturing methods such as bolt, rivet, weld, and solder. Especially the use of adhesives in aviation, space, automotive, building and marine industrials, for which the security of the joints needed, increases gradually. By using adhesively bonded joints, adherents which had different properties and thickness, acquiring regular stress distribution, can be joined more economically and slightly. The aim of the study is to repair the parts having different notch geometries with adhesive method. For this purpose, Aluminum alloy plates have the thickness of 2mm, the width of 25mm, 30mm and 35mm, the height of 112,5mm, and notch geometries with the height of 2mm, 4mm, 6mm and the width of 8mm on these plates were used, and then these notched samples were fixed with aluminium with the dimensions of 40-25mm,40-30mm,40-35mm. Finally, mechanical behaviour of these samples were examined with experimantal . As a result, it has been observed that failure loads of aluminum alloy plates repaired with patches are higher than unpatched aluminum alloy plates

Bu çalışmada, eliptik delikli AA-5083 alüminyum levhalar ve cam elyaf takviyeli kompozit yamalardan, DP460 yapıştırıcı malzemesi kullanılarak çift taraflı bindirme bağlantıları oluşturulmuş. Çekme yüküne maruz bırakılarak hasar yükleri ve gerilme davranışları, deneysel ve nümerik olarak incelenmiştir. Nümerik analizler için ANSYS 12.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Her numune için hasar yükleri bulunmuş ve AA-5083 (esas malzeme) ve DP460 (yapıştırıcı malzeme) üzerindeki kritik hatlar belirlenerek, σx , σy , σz, σeqv , τxy , τxz gerilme dağılımları incelenmiştir. Nümerik hasar yükleri ile deneysel hasar yükleri karşılaştırılmış ve %92 oranında yakınsama gözlemlenmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Gerilme Dağılımları, Hasar Yükleri, Kompozit Yama, Çift Taraflı Bindirme Bağlantıları, Yapıştırıcılar. In this study, double-sided lap joints have been performed from AA-5083 aluminum plates wıth elliptical hole and glass fiber reinforced composite patches by using DP460 adhesive material. Under tension loads stress behaviors and failure loads have been investigated experimental and numerical. ANSYS 12.0 have been used for numerical analysis. Failure loads have been found for each specimen and σx , σy , σz, σeqv , τxy , τxz stress distributions have been investigated by defining the critical lines on AA-5083 aluminum plates and DP460 adhesive material. Numerical failure loads and experimental failure loads have been compared and 92 percent convergence have been observed.Key Words: Stress Distributions, Failure Loads, Composite Patch, Double-Sided Lap Joints, Adhesives. 269
