Rosacea is a common skin disease that affects about 5% of the general population. Its symptoms include telangiectasia, persistent erythema, burning/stinging sensation, dry skin sensation, and pruritus. It is characterized by a chronic course with frequent exacerbation. It often coexists with anxiety and depression, reducing the quality of life of affected patients. The etiopathogenesis of rosacea is complex and not fully elucidated; hence, there is no causative effective treatment. In this review, we highlight the role of a cosmetologist in the treatment of rosacea and the maintenance of remission. As part of medical treatment, patients are advised to introduce lifestyle changes and use proper skin care; a cosmetologist can help educate patients affected with rosacea, create effective home care programs for skin care, and support them with treatments in beauty salons. Proper skin care is essential, including the use of dermocosmetics, cleansing of the skin, and frequent visits to beauty salons for tailored apparatus procedures. A cosmetologist is more accessible to patients and can help implement healthy daily habits, including skin care and eating habits, as well as support and mediate good communication between the patient and the patient's treating physician, thereby improving compliance and ensuring long-term satisfactory outcomes. Background: Exfoliating treatments are widely used in cosmetology and dermatology for the treatment of skin lesions and, above all, to reduce the number of skin eruptions that occur with acne vulgaris. An effective treatment that can be offered to people suffering from this disease is diamond microdermabrasion. The addition of acid peeling to this treatment may lead to even better results than in the case of monotherapy. Aim of the study: To assess the effectiveness of a combination of microdermabrasion and acid peeling on a 21-year-old woman suffering from acne vulgaris. Case report: The patient suffered from acne vulgaris, too high a level of sebum on the entire surface of the face, and, over the course of the disease, developed open and closed blackheads and inflammatory pustules. The sebum level was measured with a DermaUnitSCC3 device and the number of skin eruptions was determined using the global acne severity scale (GAGS). Conclusions: The series of cosmetological treatments led to a reduction in the sebum on the surface of the epidermis and the number of skin eruptions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: acne fulminans can leaveunsightly scars that can have a detrimental effect on a person's ability to function in society, resulting in a deterioration in the overall quality of life of these patients. Scientific research shows that problems with self-esteemmay lower a person's quality of life, making them reluctant to interact with other people. This, in turn, may lead to depression and, in extreme cases, to suicide. for people who suffer from acne fulminans, this is an extremely serious problem. This is compounded by the fact that even if they spend much of their life fighting acne, ultimately successfully, they still may be left with the visual effects of the disease, like scars. Aim of the study: The aim of the paper is to investigate how a series of six needle radiofrequency treatments will affect, and potentially shallow, the acne scars. Material and methods: The analysis was conducted on the basis of an interview, photographic documentation of the patient and skin diagnosis using the natianalyzer device. The case report was based on the medical history, photographic documentation and skin diagnosis (using the nati Skin analyzer), of a 28-year-old female patient who had suffered from acne fulminans during her adolescence. The effectiveness of the needle radiofrequency treatment was then analyzed. Case report: a 28-year-old female patient who hadstruggled with skin eruptions caused by acne fulminans since the age of 15 underwent an examination. The lesions were located on her entire face which resulted in deep scars. The patient used a series of six needle radiofrequency treatments along with ampoules containing active ingredients. Treatments were performed once a month. Conclusions: as evaluated using Goodman and baron's scar scale, the scars appear to have shallowed. additionally, the patient's self-esteem increased. Background: Nicotine has a negative influence on the human body, but its effect is particularly noticeable on the skin. It might quicken the natural skin aging process, cause unfavorable skin changes or intensify the course of many skin or mucosa diseases including cancer. It might also inhibit wound healing processes. Furthermore, tobacco smoke damages DNA as it is the source of free radicals. Nicotine increases the degradation of collagen and elastic fibres forming the basic skin structure and causes angiogenesis, too. These processes result in forming wrinkles and losing skin firmness as well as elasticity. Aim of the study: The study aims at assessing the influence of active tobacco smoke on skin condition factors like hydration, lubrication, flaking and the inflammation of epidermis in a group of young women. Material and methods: The study was carried out in a group of young women (20 with tobacco dependence and 20 never smoking) aged 21-26. An interview was performed before the study. The study of greasiness, exfoliation and skin hydration was done using the device named Nati Analizer Beauty of Science. The skin of the subjects was not washed before the test and any skin caring preparations had not been applied since the day before. For a period of five weeks the subjects underwent the treatments with the use of sonophoresis along with the introduction of a moisturizing and sebum regulating ampoule, in order to verify the effectiveness of cosmetic treatment. After a series of treatments the test was performed again with the use of the same device. Before the study, the researchers hypothesized that active nicotine smokers will have a worse skin condition than non-smokers. Results: The interview performed did show that smokers are aware of negative effects of nicotine on their skin, so they pay more attention to daily care, and use cosmetics with a strong moisturizing action. Active nicotine smokers did not have a worse skin condition than non-smokers. Conclusions: The results received have not confirmed the hypothesis and popular beliefs that skin condition of active smokers is worse than this of none-smokers. The sonophoresis treatment had a greater impact on reducing sebum secretion in nonsmokers, but they increased the degree of moisture in non-smokers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
