Five binomial sums are extended by a free parameter $m$, that are shown, through the generating function method, to have the same value. These sums generalize the ones by Ruehr (1980), who discovered them in the study of two unexpected equalities between definite integrals.

The microrheological characteristics and stability of set yogurt made from camel and cow milks during fermentation were analyzed by multi-frequency diffusion wave spectroscopy and multi-light scattering spectroscopy, respectively, and their titratable acidity, viable bacterial count, viscosity, water-holding capacity and texture indexes were determined. The results showed that it took 9.5 h for camel milk and 6.5 h for cow milk to reach the end point of fermentation. The results of microrheological analysis showed that as a fluid with low viscoelasticity, fermented camel milk had lower elasticity index (EI) and macroscopic viscosity index (MVI) but higher flow factor (FF) and solid-liquid balance (SLB) values than fermented cow milk. The results of multiple light scattering spectroscopy showed that fermented cow milk was more stable than fermented camel milk during fermentation, while the opposite was true during storage, indicating that the internal structure of fermented camel milk, with higher stability, was more compact. During storage, the titratable acidity of fermented camel milk was lower than that of fermented cow milk, and the numbers of viable bacteria in both of them were more than 1 × 107 CFU/mL, a significant difference being observed between them (P < 0.05), and the water-holding capacity of fermented camel milk was higher than that of fermented cow milk. Texture analysis showed that the hardness, consistency and viscosity index of fermented cow milk were all significantly higher than those of fermented camel milk (P < 0.05). In summary, it is not easy for camel milk to form a gel structure after fermentation, but because of the tight internal structure, fermented camel milk is stable, which is more favorable for product storage. In contrast, it is easier for cow milk to form a thick and dense texture after fermentation. This study provides a theoretical basis for the practical application and promotion of fermented camel milk, and provides ideas for the diversified development of fermented non-bovine milks.

Traumatic fractures and stress fractures are common orthopedic diseases, and there is great potential in researching bone turnover, repair, and promotion of fracture healing. Basic medical experiments often use animal models of long bone fractures in limbs to study the mechanisms of various interventions on fracture healing. Fracture healing is a complex process influenced by multiple factors and involves multiple molecules and pathways. Therefore, to explore the mechanisms more deeply, accelerate the translation of results, and improve the clinical efficacy, it is particularly important to choose the appropriate animal fracture modeling methods in experimental research. Based on this, this paper conducts a literature review of animal species and modeling methods commonly used for long bone fracture models in experimental research. It summarizes five methods: bone defect method, physical impact method, mechanical bending method, open osteotomy method, and drilling method. A side-by-side comparison of their advantages, disadvantages, and scope of application is made, aiming to provide suitable fracture models for studying the mechanisms of fracture healing interventions.

Focusing on the Intangible Cultural Heritage project of Shenhou Jun Porcelain in Yuzhou, this study employs methods such as literature review, archaeological findings, and field research to analyze the historical culture, appearance, connotations, and craftsmanship of Shenhou Jun Porcelain. The study summarizes the distinctive features, methods, and patterns of Shenhou Jun Porcelain, and condenses its unique cultural characteristics. It further proposes packaging design strategies that integrate intangible cultural heritage with local food products in Henan, employing techniques such as logo design, graphic design, form design, artistic design, and dynamic design.

Cinnamomum cassia Presl. is a subtropical plant that is used for food and medicine. Climate change has changed the suitable habitats of medicinal plants, which might have repercussions for the efficacy of herbal remedies. In this study, the potential distribution in each period of Cinnamomum cassia was predicted and the quality in different suitable habitats was evaluated. According to the results, (1) precipitation, temperature, and soil are the primary environmental variables influencing C. cassia distribution. (2) The high-suitable habitats of current climate scenarios were predominantly located in the southern regions (Guangdong and Guangxi etc.) of China, with an area of 706,129.08 km2. Under future climate scenarios, suitable habitats will increasingly move northward, with a greater concentration south of the Yangtze River, particularly in the 2090s SSP585 scenario, the total area of newly extended suitable habitat reaches 312,963.53 km2. (3) HPLC and FTIR, combined with chemometrics, can be effective methods for identifying different suitable habitats of C. cassia. The content of trans-cinnamaldehyde (0.85%) is significantly higher in the high suitability habitat compared to the medium-low suitability habitat (0.30%). Our findings can offer valuable guidance for the identification of suitable C. cassia cultivation areas in China, as well as for the evaluation of C. cassia resource quality and the rational use of resources in different suitable habitats. Amomum villosum Lour. (A. villosum) is the original plant of the medicinal and culinary spice Amomi Fructus (Sharen) and is an important economic crop in the Lingnan region of China. During the cultivation and production of A. villosum, prolonged reliance on single asexual reproduction has exacerbated the degradation of its varieties, leading to inconsistent yields and quality. Building upon earlier cultivar selection efforts, this study provides a comprehensive evaluation of two newly bred A. villosum varieties (A11 and A12) from perspectives including plant traits, product characteristics, active ingredients, and multi-omics analysis. It was found that A12 plants display enhanced robustness, more aromatic fruits, higher yields, and elevated levels of bornyl acetate, A11 shows the advantage of a high camphor content, and the different metabolites and differentially expressed genes of the two varieties were significantly enriched in multiple metabolic pathways. Additionally, A12 contained more terpenoids and substances with aromatic odors such as sweet, fruity, floral, and green. Furthermore, a key gene (Wv_032842) regulating the acetylation of bornyl was discovered, and its significantly higher expression, in A12. In conclusion, this study has a guiding significance for the evaluation of germplasm resources and the breeding of excellent varieties of A. villosum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Maize silk is a specialized type of stigma, covered with numerous papillae for pollen grain capture. However, the developmental process of stigmatic papillae and the underlying regulatory mechanisms have remained largely unknown.Here, we combined the cytological, genetic and molecular studies to demonstrate that three homologous genes ZmSPL10, ZmSPL14 and ZmSPL26 play a central role in promoting stigmatic papilla formation in maize.We show that their triple knockout mutants are nearly complete lack of stigmatic papilla, resulting in a severe reduction in kernel setting. Cellular examination reveals that stigmatic papilla is developed from a precursor cell, which is the smaller daughter cell resulting from asymmetric cell division of a silk epidermal cell. In situ hybridization shows that ZmSPL10, ZmSPL14 and their target genes SPI1, ZmPIN1b, ZmARF28 and ZmWOX3A are preferentially expressed in the precursor cells of stigmatic papillae. Moreover, ZmSPL10, ZmSPL14 and ZmSPL26 directly bind to the promoters of SPI1, ZmPIN1b, ZmARF28 and ZmWOX3A and promote their expression. Further, Zmwox3a knockout mutants display severe defects in stigmatic papilla formation and reduced seed setting.Collectively, our results demonstrate that ZmSPL10, ZmSPL14 and ZmSPL26 act together to promote stigmatic papilla development through regulating auxin signaling and ZmWOX3A expression. Objective: Tribulus Terrestris is a medicinal plant cultivated in temperate regions of the world. Inner Mongolia is one of the main producing areas of Tribulus Terrestris. We aimed in this study to examine the effect of Tribulus Terrestris extract on the aging process. Methods: A total of 50 mice were used for the experiment. They were divided randomly into 5 groups (10 animals in each group): normal control group and four aging groups. Results: Compared to the normal aging group, the parameters of the thymus gland and spleen of an aging group fed with a high and medium amount of Tribulus has visibly increased (p < 0.05). The content of blood catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) of blood serum of an aging group fed with a high and medium amount of Tribulus Terrestris has visibly increased (p < 0.05) compared to that in the aging group. Also, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in blood serum has visibly lowered. We further have measured the SOD, GSH-Px content in brain tissue of each group of mice. Conclusion: Compared with the normal control group, the SOD content was decreased significantly and MDA content was significantly increased in the aging group of mice.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common and deadly malignancy worldwide. Current treatment methods for hepatocellular carcinoma have many disadvantages; thus, it is urgent to improve the efficacy of these therapies. Glycolysis is critical in the occurrence and development of tumors. However, survival and prognosis biomarkers related to glycolysis in HCC patients remain to be fully identified.Methods: Glycolysis-related genes (GRGs) were downloaded from “The Molecular Signatures Database” (MSigDB), and the mRNA expression profiles and clinical information of HCC patients were obtained from TCGA. Consensus clustering was performed to classify the HCC patients into two subgroups. We used the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis to construct the risk signature model. Kaplan–Meier (K-M) survival analysis was performed to evaluate the prognostic significance of the risk model, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to evaluate the prediction accuracy. The independent prediction ability of the risk model was validated by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. The differences of immune infiltrates and relevant oncogenic signaling between different risk groups were compared. Finally, biological experiments were performed to explore the functions of screened genes.Results: HCC patients were classified into two subgroups, according to the expression of prognostic-related GRGs. Almost all GRGs categorized in cluster 2 showed upregulated expressions, whereas GRGs in cluster 1 conferred survival advantages. GSEA identified a positive correlation between cluster 2 and the glycolysis process. Ten genes were selected for risk signature construction. Patients were assigned to high-risk and low-risk groups based on the median risk score, and K-M survival analysis indicated that the high-risk group had a shorter survival time. Additionally, the risk gene signature can partially affect immune infiltrates within the HCC microenvironment, and many oncogenic pathways were enriched in the high-risk group, including glycolysis, hypoxia, and DNA repair. Finally, in vitro knockdown of ME1 suppressed proliferation, migration, and invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma cells.Conclusion: In our study, we successfully constructed and verified a novel glycolysis-related risk signature for HCC prognosis prediction, which is meaningful for classifying HCC patients and offers potential targets for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
