Background: Focal osteoporotic bone marrow defect (FOBMD) is a rare and poorly documented pathology corresponding to an unusual hematopoietic tissue in maxillary bones. Several studies have investigated FOBMD but reported different and heterogenous approaches to a correct diagnosis. Therefore, this systematic review evaluated the relevance of imaging exams in aiding FOBMD diagnosis and the implications in surgical planning for dental implants.The research question was: What is the relevance of imaging tests in aiding FOBMD diagnosis? Methods: Online databases were searched to select articles based on eligibility criteria. The studies included in the systematic review were submitted to bias and applicability assessments using the Joanna Briggs Institute tool for study quality assessment. Results: A total of 383 articles were obtained from all the databases, 27 studies were included, and all performed biopsies to confirm the diagnosis. The selected studies evaluated 698 patients, including approximately 80% of women, corroborating the literature that notes a higher prevalence of this lesion in women. The reviewed articles showed a low risk of bias for case series, moderate for case reports, and low for cross-sectional studies. Conclusion: The studies considered in this systematic review have shown that radiographic characteristics may sufficiently identify the lesion and provide a periodic radiographic follow-up. However, it is worth noting the need for CBCT for planning oral rehabilitation through implants to minimize the risks of such complications.

Apesar da relevância da temática e dos impactos dos objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável em todas as nações, a literatura não apresenta elementos que possibilitem identificar como o fluxo de pesquisa evoluiu ao longo do tempo, entender a evolução das pesquisas sobre a temática podem gerar novos insights e fornecer novas maneiras de implantar objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável, neste sentido este estudo trata-se de uma análise bibliométrica que visa identificar como o domínio de conhecimento sobre objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável surgiu e evoluiu no campo de ciências sociais. Trata-se de um estudo revisional, elaborado por meio de uma análise bibliométrica, esta técnica permite o mapeamento do surgimento e evolução de um campo científico, inclusive possibilita identificar os autores mais citados/influentes, instituições dos autores, redes de cooperação entre autores, recorrência de palavras chaves e estudos fronteiriços sobre um determinado tema (Zupic & Cater, 2015). A análise bibliométrica realizada possibilitou identificar por meio do mapa de cocitação a estrutura intelectual que norteia a evolução dos estudos sobre objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentáveis no campo de ciências sociais aplicadas. Esta técnica possibilitou a identificação de sete clusters, o cluster mais importante investigou a interpelação entre os 17 objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentáveis ODS. O mapa de pareamento bibliográfico realizado identificou sete clusters de estudos sobre responsabilidade social corporativa no campo de ciências sociais aplicadas. ABSTRACT Context: Digital study models have become a safe and advantageous alternative for diagnosis and planning in dentistry. Despite the superior characteristics in comparison with traditional plaster models, professionals seem to resist the use of new technologies. Aims: To assess the level of knowledge and the use of digital models through a questionnaire applied to dental professionals. Methods: A questionnaire with 12 multiple-choice questions about plaster models, digital, and use of the 3Shape - 3D viewer software was answered by 76 orthodontists (42 women and 34 men; mean age =37.82 years (SD ± 7.60)) and 30 general dental surgeons (18 women and 12 men; mean age of 33.93 years (SD ± 8.45)) in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. Data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheets and then analyzed using the SPSS statistical software version 20. An absolute analysis of frequency and percentage of responses was performed. Results: Most professionals reported using plaster models and claimed their low cost as justification for their use (P = 0.001). Aware of the benefits of digital models, professionals of both classes highlighted the facilitated storage and search for information as the main advantages, the cost and infrastructure as the main disadvantages. Regarding the use of the 3Shape - 3D viewer software, orthodontists showed better utilization of this resource than general dental surgeons (P = 0.0198). Conclusion: It verified that most professionals make use of plaster models. However, despite knowing the advantages of digital models, their cost is sees as a limiting factor for adherence to this technology.

The COVID-19 pandemic persists despite the ongoing mass immunization campaign, and there is a long journey ahead until effective control of the situation. In Brazil, telemedicine has grown widely. After the initial adaptation process during the first pandemic year, remote teaching and teleconsultation/ telemonitoring have consolidated such technology. By definition, telemedicine means the use of information technology to improve health care by approximating professionals and patients in distant locations. However, despite the acceptance in several health areas, dentists have rejected this new approach, claiming that telemedicine lacks the power to attract patients’ attention. To refute wrongly conceived theories and demonstrate the effectiveness of these resources, we described our experiences concerning dental and multidisciplinary residency education in two states (Sergipe and Paraíba) in the northeast region of Brazil, one of the most affected by the pandemic.

Objective: To characterize the influence of birthplace on outcomes of patients with gastroschisis admitted to three hospitals in a state in Brazil’s southeastern region, according to condition inborn (born in a reference center) or outborn (born outside the reference center). Methods: Retrospective multicenter cohort study of patients with gastroschisis. The sample size utilized was of patients admitted in three hospitals with a diagnosis of gastroschisis ICD 10 Q79.3 between January 2000 to December 2018. Patients were divided into two groups, inborn and outborn. Characteristics of prenatal, perinatal and postoperative were compared using statistical tests. The re-discovery of Catasetum mojuense A.T. Oliveira & J.B.F. Silva (Orchidaceae), an Amazonian species described in 1999 from the State of Pará, Brazil, is reported. In addition to geographic distribution data, a morphological description, taxonomical and ecological comments, conservation status assessment and photographs of C. mojuense are also provided. The species is characterised by having epiphytic habit, non-resupinate staminate flowers, brown-spotted petals, galeiform and smooth (no ribs) lip, lateral lobes with sparsely short-fimbriate margins and convergent antennae. Catasetum mojuense is morphologically similar to Catasetum discolor (Lindl.) Lindl, but is easily distinguished by the longer sepals and petals and the spotted petals on the staminate flowers. The new locality of occurence for C. mojuense is approximately 190 km east of the type locality, also in the State of Pará. The species is assessed as Critically Endangered. Habitat depletion and the limited number of sites of occurrence are the main concern for the conservation of C. mojuense.

O artigo se debruça sobre os desafios de uma pesquisa que mapeia as principais referências teóricas do campo da Comunicação no Brasil, a partir da coleta e do processamento de artigos apresentados entre 2006 e 2015, no evento da Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação. Descrevemos aqui os procedimentos de raspagem das referências teóricas de cada trabalho apresentado em Grupos de Trabalho do evento e as formas encontradas para processar dados textuais através de ferramentas estatísticas, discutindo a articulação entre métodos quantitativos e qualitativos. Por fim, refletimos sobre as descobertas metodológicas de metapesquisa sobre campos científicos. O texto demonstra como a articulação entre procedimentos quantitativos e qualitativos pode ser profícua para o desenvolvimento das pesquisas nas Ciências Humanas e Sociais.

O ensino de microbiologia deve ser considerado importante na educação, pois a didática utilizada impacta diretamente no processo de aprendizagem. Objetivou-se contribuir com métodos práticos e didáticos no ensino online de microbiologia de uma instituição de ensino superior de Teresina-PI. A pesquisa é do tipo exploratória de abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Assim, a realização do COM utilizou metodologias ativas (Google Classroom, Google Forms, e Kahoot) para a interação. Os resultados apresentaram-se significativos, onde 90% dos discentes afirmaram que as atividades contribuíram na assimilação dos conteúdos. Conclui-se que os métodos práticos de ensino online usados, foram significativos no processo de aprendizagem dos conteúdos de microbiologia.

Background: The interaction of quality of life (QoL) with functionality, nutrition and depression has been studied, but few studies have compared different realities. Our objective was to compare the associations of QoL with impaired functionality, nutritional status and depressive symptoms among older people patients treated in primary health care (PHC) in Brazil and Portugal. Methods: Cross-sectional, comparative study was conducted with primary data from PHC services in Brazil and Portugal with users over 65 years old. Participants’ scores were classified as “impaired” and “preserved” for QoL, functional decline, nutrition and depression. We used Pearson’s chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test and the Mann–Whitney U test. Results: Our sample had a total of 150 PHC users. We found lower QoL scores in Brazil, which were associated with the risk of functional decline for the domains Physical Functioning, General Health Perceptions, Mental Health dimensions and Physical Health. Nutritional impairment in the group from Portugal included the domains of Vitality and Social Role Functioning. For depressive impairment, Portugal showed an association with the domains Mental Health, Vitality and Social Role Functioning. Conclusions: QoL was associated with functional and nutritional impairment and depressive symptoms, highlighting physical, mental and social characteristics related to the perception of well-being.

The incidence of tethered cord syndrome after myelomenigocele (MMC) repair is higher in patients undergoing in utero than postnatally. However, a paucity of studies have described the details of untethering in children which MMC was corrected during fetal life. In this technical note, we describe the spinal cord untethering of a girl after MMC in utero repair, highlighting the main steps regarding the anatomic recognition as well as neurophysiological monitoring finding role.

This article describes the clinical and electromyographic findings of neuromyotonia in a 19‐month‐old male crossbred Quarter Horse that presented with stiffness and muscle asymmetry in the hind limbs as well as sacrococcygeal, paravertebral, and gluteal myokymia. An electromyographic study showed spontaneous continuous muscle fiber activity with high‐frequency discharges, fibrillations, positive sharp waves, fasciculation potentials, and complex repetitive discharges. Histological examination of the gluteal muscle showed a mixed neurogenic and myopathic pattern. The findings are consistent with neuromyotonia.

O carneiro hidráulico é uma ferramenta simples para bombeamento de água que utiliza como fonte para seu funcionamento energia limpa e renovável, é amplamente empregado em muitos locais onde a energia elétrica é escassa ou inexistente. Ultimamente nos cursos de engenharia vem se buscando métodos de aprendizagem mais significativos que promovam a autonomia dos alunos, despertando o interesse dos mesmos em aprender e aplicar os conceitos teóricos aprendidos em sala de aula, dessa forma objetivou-se por meio desse trabalho realizar uma competição com os alunos de engenharia civil da FAT, durante a III Semana Acadêmica de Engenharia da instituição, os carneiros hidráulicos foram confeccionados de forma artesanal pelas equipes do 6° período, utilizando apenas materiais previstos no regulamento, foi levado em consideração como critério de avaliação a funcionalidade correta do equipamento, vazão, relação volume inicial de água, volume bombeado e estética, as equipes tiveram 20 minutos para demonstrar o funcionamento do equipamento. Os melhores resultados foram obtidos para um caudal de elevação igual a 2,2 L/min, com aproximadamente 60 batidas por minuto. Foi possível verificar com essa competição os alunos ficaram motivados e promoveram sua autonomia, sendo aplicado os conceitos teóricos passados em sala de aula para uma aplicação prática.

Introducción. En el proceso de beneficiado del café, se generan subproductos ricos en nutrientes y con elevada carga orgánica, que en la mayoría de casos son subutilizados y depositados, sin tratamiento previo en los cuerpos hídricos. Objetivo. Evaluar la influencia de la irrigación, sobre los compuestos químicos del agua residual obtenida del procesamiento de los frutos del café de la variedad “Rubi”, irrigada por pivote central. Materiales y métodos. El experimento se desarrolló en la Universidad Federal de Lavras, Brasil, durante el año 2018. El delineamiento estadístico utilizado fue en bloques al azar, con tres repeticiones. Los tratamientos correspondieron a cinco láminas de irrigación (0, 60, 80, 100, 120 y 140 % de la lámina de agua evaporada del tanque Clase A). El distanciamiento de siembra utilizada por parcela, fue de 3,5 m X 0,80 m, en un área de 1,6 ha-1, subdividida en dieciocho parcelas con aproximadamente 888 m2. Los frutos cerezas del café, fueron cosechados de cada tratamiento y mezclados en agua, en proporción de 2 l agua: 1 l fruto de café y en seguida despulpados en una licuadora industrial. El agua residual obtenida, fue analizada a través del método estándar para el análisis de agua residual. Resultados. Las láminas de irrigación, provocaron efecto significativo, sobre los parámetros químicos evaluados, las plantas irrigadas con base en el 57 % del agua evaporada del tanque Clase A, resultaron con compuestos químicos dentro de los patrones establecidos, para el descarte de agua residual en Brasil. El contenido de Mg, S, Mn, P, Zn, Cu y Fe, fue superior a las parcelas que no recibieron irrigación. Conclusiones. El uso de la irrigación en café, produjo efectos significativos sobre la concentración de los compuestos químicos del agua residual de los frutos del café de la variedad “Rubí”.

Resumo Quantificar a intensidade da radiação solar incidente na superfície terrestre é extremamente importante, pois os processos de ordem natural, sejam eles físicos, químicos e/ou biológicos dependem diretamente dela. Contudo, existem algumas dificuldades para medir esta variável, na qual destaca-se o custo elevado de equipamentos para esta finalidade. Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver um protótipo de baixo custo para medir radiação solar global bem como promover a contextualização do ensino de física. Uma estrutura de alumínio fundido, para minimizar os efeitos térmicos e as intempéries sobre suas medidas foi desenvolvida. Esta estrutura era coberta com um difusor plano de acrílico e uma cúpula semi-esférica de vidro que envolvia o sensor fotoresistivo. O protótipo foi conectado ao arduino, usado como datalogger, através de um cabo de rede. Para a calibração do protótipo foi utilizado um piranômetro comercial modelo CM5 da KIPP & ZONEN. Índices estatísticos para se medir a acurácia do protótipo foram aplicados. As medidas foram realizadas continuamente, a cada minuto, durante cinco dias. Os resultados mostraram: coeficiente de determinação foi de R 2 = 0 , 957, de eficiência ( ε = 0 , 95 ), índice de concordância de Willmott ( d = 0 , 99 ) e o erro médio absoluto ( E M A = 51 , 22 W m − 2 ). Verifica-se uma boa aproximação dos valores de radiação solar global medidas pelo protótipo referentes aos do CM5. Portanto, a construção deste protótipo é útil para facilitar e difundir medidas diárias de radiação solar global e, sobre tudo, poderá contribuir com a contextualização dos conceitos estudados em Física nos ensinos básico e superior.

A proposta do artigo é identificar autoras/es e teorias utilizadas/os como referência por pesquisadoras/es da área de Novas Mídias no Brasil. O corpus selecionado inclui 100 artigos da Compós durante o período de 2006 a 2015. Essa apresentação específica faz parte de uma pesquisa mais ampla que almeja apreender as teorias contemporâneas que alicerçam o campo da Comunicação no país. A análise destaca a ênfase das pesquisas na questão da técnica, associada ao poder, buscando compreender o papel das novas tecnologias na configuração da sociedade, da subjetividade dos indivíduos, de seus processos cognitivos. The Urucuia Aquifer System (UAS) is a set of interrelated aquifers associated with the sedimentary rocks of Urucuia Group. Five geophysical well logs were interpreted and supported the development of conceptual hydrogeologic model. Three electrofacies are identified: (i) regional substrate of Bambuí Group; (ii) eolian system of Posse Formation; (iii) braided fluvial system of Serra das Araras Formation targeted by tabular levels of massive and silicified sandstones. In the hydrogeological context, the stratigraphic position of the silicified sandstones levels in relation to the regional groundwater level leads to the occurrence of unconfined aquifers when it is disposed above, and an aquifer-aquitard-aquifer system when it is located below. In this context, the lower confined aquifer presents hydraulic heads greater than the ones in the overlying unconfined. Silicified sandstones horizons function as aquitards and have become more deep and thick in the central-western portion. Additionally, the effective porosity and storage coefficient values ranging from 10-2 to 10-1 and 10-4, while the transmissivity between 10-6 and 10-4 to 10-3 m2/s for unconfined and confined subtypes, respectively. In the extreme west, the UAS displays wells whose static levels are deep (over 100 m), because of a groundwater divider the hydrogeological basin. In general, the drawdowns produced after the pumping test wells gradually decrease toward SAU western-central portion, combined with an increase of the specific capacity of the wells, the saturated thickness and hydrogeological potential.
