Purpose: This study aims to prevent occupational accidents occurring in the manufacturing industry by means of touch sensors. When the occupational accidents occurring in the manufacturing industry around the world are examined, it is seen that approximately 88% of occupational accidents occur from "dangerous movement" and 10% from "dangerous situation." Although some studies related to safety culture studies, safety studies in design and collective or personal protective measures have been started, they have not been brought to an adequate level. It is observed that studies on dangerous movements continue even in many developed countries. In this study, first of all, a literature study was conducted. Occupational accidents experienced in the manufacturing sector in Turkey have been examined. In line with these investigations, a prototype circuit protection system has been developed that can prevent accidents caused by dangerous movement. With the circuit, its applicability and effectiveness were measured by conducting experiments on different manufacturing machines. The prototype circuit applied in this paper was made based on the logic of protective measures made on sawstop machines used in different sectors. In the experimental study conducted, it was observed that in 30 experiments conducted with a prototype on ten separate manufacturing machines, it stopped the machines 26 times at minimum and 29 times at maximum. On average, when looking at the system efficiency values, it was seen that the system was 81.6% effective, and it was observed that positive results could be obtained when converted into a real product. Design/methodology/approach: In this study, their contribution to the prevention of work accidents caused by presses and rotary accents from machines used in the manufacturing industry by means of touch sensors used in Industry 4.0 was examined. Findings: With Industry 4.0, different automation systems began to be switched in many areas and sectors. Studies have started on different sensors used also in Industry 4.0 in occupational health and safety studies, but it is seen that they have not been applied at an adequate level. It should be designed in such a way as to prevent errors or stop these errors in the studies performed. Today, sensors are produced at much lower costs than before. In addition, the constantly developing technology provides great convenience for these applications. Research limitations/implications: This study was applied for press and cylinder machines from manufacturing machines. This study has been tried for machines producing a maximum pressure of 300 tons. Originality/value: A prototype was designed. Trials were done on some machines by prototype. İş sağlığı ve güvenliği açısından inşaat sektörü, çalışma şartları bakımından en riskli sektörlerden biri olup sektör çalışanlarının diğer sektördekilere oranla riski daha fazladır. Çok tehlikeli sınıf kategorisinde bulunan sektör, iş sağlığı ve güvenliği konularında maalesef istenen seviyeye ulaşmamıştır. Bunun nedenlerinin başında iş sağlığı ve güvenliği algısının düşük olması, çalışanların eğitim seviyesinin düşüklüğü, zaman ve maliyet baskısı gibi birçok sebep yatmaktadır. Ayrıca iş sağlığı ve güvenliği denetim mekanizmasına bakıldığında denetimin, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Aile, Çalışma ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığı, iç denetimler, yapı denetim firmaları veya müşteri denetimleri sayesinde gerçekleştiği görülmektedir. Ancak yapılan incelemelerde inşaat sektöründe, denetim mekanizmanın iyi işlemediği, bu yüzden yapım esnasında ve yapım sonrasında iş kazaları, göçük gibi olayların sıklıkla görüldüğü tespit edilmiştir. Kısa vadede iş kazaları, maluliyet vb. problemler meydana gelirken, uzun vadede yıpranma, hasar görme, ek maliyetler, depremde yıkılma vb. birçok ciddi riski beraberinde getirmektedir. Bakanlık bünyesinde yeterli personel olmadığından veya farklı sebeplerden dış denetimin yeterli olmadığı açıkça her sektörde görülmektedir. Diğer bakanlıklarda yapıldığı gibi bu görevi başka bir kuruma devretmek denetim mekanizmasını güçlendirecek ve algıyı yükseltmede önemli rol oynayacaktır. Maalesef, güvenlik kültürünün düşük olduğu ülkemizde, hızlı sonuçlar alabilmek denetim mekanizmalarının güçlendirilmesiyle oluşturulabilir. Denetim mekanizmasında en etkin, objektif ve maliyet getirmeyecek kurum yerel yönetimlerdir. The construction sector in terms of occupational health and safety, is one of the riskiest sectors in terms of working conditions and the employees of the sector are more at risk than those in the other sector. The sector, which is in very dangerous class category, has unfortunately not reached the desired level on occupational health and safety issues. The main reasons for this are the low perception of Occupational Health and safety, low level of training of employees, time and cost pressures. In addition, when we look at the Occupational Health and safety audit mechanism, it is seen that the audit took place through the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey, internal audits, building audit firms or customer audits. However, in the construction sector, it was determined that the control mechanism did not function well, so incidents such as work accidents and dents were often seen during and after construction. In the short term work accidents, disability etc. While problems occur, long-term wear, damage, additional costs, destruction in an earthquake, etc. it brings with it many serious risks. It is seen that there are not enough personnel within the ministry or that external audit is not enough for different reasons. Unfortunately, in our country, where the culture of security is low, rapid results can be generated by strengthening the control mechanisms. The most effective, objective and cost-effective institution in the control mechanism is local governments. In this article, statistical information about the operation of the control mechanism in the construction sector, accidents, deaths and incapacity were given and the subject was evaluated by the method of comparisons and sampling. When work accidents are examined in the world and in Turkey, about 88% of the accidents occur in "dangerous action" and 10% occur in "dangerous situation". In the long term, even if it is reached European standards, accidents related to dangerous actions will not be brought to the adequate level without systematic measures. These systems should be designed to prevent employees from making mistakes or to stop some errors automatically. However, since the use of second hand machine in our country is too much, sensors are not applied effectively. Large-cost sensors are manufactured at a much more cost-effective cost in today's conditions rather than the past. Quickly developing technology makes it easier for such applications. In addition, this type of use is expected to be widespread with Industry 4.0. In this study, a case study with 5x5 L type matrix method was examined and occupational health and safety assessments were made, and the risk of occupational accidents was reduced by 75% by using sensors in the post-accident risk analysis. There isn’t enough progress for work accidents in our country. Also, there is no reliable data for occupational diseases because of insufficient records. When we have checked work accidents, it seems that there have been many accidents about lifting equipments especially in the construction sector. Therefore, the importance of the often used lifting equipments has been revealed. Lift equipments provide increase in productivity, cost reduction and fatigue reduction in staff. On the other hand, injuries, deaths and actually costs were found to be more without taking adequate protection. In this article, we give information about the most commonly used lifting equipments in working life and related health and safety precautions.
