In the article, is scientifically analysed the principles and criteria to determine the genre boundary between the sub-genres of folklore prose such as myth, legend, story, fairy tale. In this, special attention is paid to defining the genre boundary of the legend genre of Karakalpak folk prose. In determining the boundaries between the genres of folklore prose, the relation of the events narrated in the work to the truth, the methods of description used in the description of the truth (the role of magic), the functional tasks performed in life, the features of the application of the actions of the spatial space and time categories, the artistic-structural construction, also, the genre characteristics of Karakalpak legends are revealed based on principles and criteria such as the method of performance (manner). Several authors draw attention to implicit or explicit messages about the real world, aspects that we probably think less about when choosing a story to read to young children. Examples of behavioural antimodels can be easily captured by a competent pedagogue or parent in narrative writings such as fairy tales or stories belonging to well-known writers from the international and Romanian literature. The present study envisages a qualitative investigative approach, based on semi-structured interviews, aiming to explore parents' perceptions regarding the effect of preschoolers' exposure to stereotypes and verbal and behavioural aggression found in many of the traditional fairy tales and most circulated stories. The results of the study were compiled by investigating the responses of the 12 participants (N=12) based on three dimensions of analysis. Thus, a first dimension focused on the vision of the effects of aggression present in literary texts on children and the way to manage passages marked by violence. The second dimension sought to identify the opinion of the parents interviewed in relation to the possible consequences of the repeated exposure of children to clichés and stereotypes. The last unit of analysis aimed to picture the participants' beliefs regarding the need to harmonize the subjects of fairy tales and stories heard by preschoolers to the current lifestyle of today's society. The aim of the current study is to examine how preschool children overcome their difficulties regarding thermal expansion and contraction and construct in their minds a precursor model; that is, an entity compatible with school knowledge. Having investigated these difficulties through a pretest, a teaching intervention was implemented based on both the telling of a fairy tale and the carrying out of experimental activities. Finally, the changes in children's thinking were studied with a posttest. The study involved 36 children aged 4–6 years who voluntarily participated in individual semistructured interviews conducted by three researchers in a special kindergarten setting. The results of the study revealed statistically significant progress in children's responses between pre- and posttests. Furthermore, the finding of almost 1/3 of children's responses being compatible with school knowledge indicates that (a) it is possible for children of that age to construct a precursor model for thermal expansion and contraction and (b) the combination of storytelling along with experimental activities is probably an appropriate teaching strategy. This article examines three of Dario Argento's supernatural horror films (Suspiria, Phenomena, and Dark Glasses) and their use of fairy tale imagery and narratives, which distinguishes them from murder-mystery-oriented giallo films. In them, Argento locates his characters, rather than in urban environments, in rural spaces (forests, fields, mountains) where the supernatural elements of their stories blossom. Suspiria represents a primarily aesthetic exploration of parallels between fairy tales and contemporary horror, while Phenomena uses these two modes to examine the conflict between the rational and irrational, the natural and the supernatural. Dark Glasses initially appears to be one of his more traditional gialli, but it abandons these tropes with a simplified plot evoking the story of "Little Red Riding Hood"; this shift is accomplished by moving the action of the film out of Rome and into the dark forests of the countryside. Dark Glasses, I argue, therefore represents a self-conscious move to unite in a single film the two major strands of Argento's filmography and to expose some fundamental elements of his general cinematic approach—namely, the unique capacity of stylized aesthetics and irrational elements to convey the experience of very real, human terror and evil. The ways Gothic fairy tales and fairy-tale feminism interact are not always clear. An undercurrent of feminist studies of fairy tales is fueled by the 1970s Lurie-Lieberman debate, which focused on the question of whether fairy tales liberate or repress women. Meanwhile, critics such as Lorna Piatti-Farnell and Lucie Armitt have offered studies of the interplay between Gothic horror and fairy tales. However, these studies have limits, often emphasizing the violence, self-mutilation, and cannibalism of women, like those in Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm's versions of "Cinderella" and "Snow White". This paper argues that "Rapunzel" (1812) is key for understanding the Gothic and feminist discourses of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre (1847). Firstly, this paper argues that a self-reflexive and self-productive relationship between subjectivity and desire shapes and disrupts the Gothic, fairy-tale, and feminist discourses of Jane Eyre, resulting in a specular feminine-I that has inspired pluralistic readings of the text. Secondly, an analysis of the Rapunzelian metaphors of 'wicked' hunger and ideological towers unmasks the double consciousness that not only fetters feminine subjectivity but delimits the domestic structures of marriage and home. Multiplying the ways nineteenth-century Gothicism, fairy tales, and feminism may interact, Brontë's specular study of feminine desire makes way for a productive and agential feminine speaking-I. In this paper I explore how fears of incorporation, sexual violence, permeability and 'leakiness' and metaphorical and literal villains are negotiated within the contemporary fairy tale retelling tradition. Through the close reading and comparative analysis of two twenty-first century Young Adult (YA) retellings of 'Little Red Riding Hood' from the 2010s (Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce and Elana K. Arnold's Red Hood), I argue that this representation and negotiation of sexual, violent, and gustatory appetites is made possible due to the intersection of the fairy tale, horror, and YA genres, creating a unique space in which the lycanthropic and human figures are sources of dread and intrigue and the terrifying and absurd. In doing so, I argue that this contemporary tradition continues the well-established narrative of the fairy tale as a site of simultaneous high dramatics and interrogation of the everyday. That fact that fairy tales and folktales are produced in a certain time and space and intended for a specific audience has, until now, often been neglected. In the past they performed specific social or political functions, such as for instance, being a part of nation building, they were meant to discipline a certain population or educate. The author claims that fairy tales and folktales arise from social needs and tell of imagined societies. Their social and political functions can be analyzed through the relation between the structural features and the specificities of individual versions, considered in regard to social needs. This contribution explores the story of Angelo, an Italian Second World War veteran who, after experiencing war and escaping captivity in Yugoslavia, finally reached Trieste in 1946, where he met his future wife. It took him nearly 15 years to heal from his harrowing wartime trauma. Between 2021 and 2023, while collecting oral testimonies, I interviewed his son Sergio and grandson Ruben. The central subject of those interviews was the war-time period and the fairy tales that Angelo used to tell his son (and later his grandson) in the evenings, inspired by his war experiences. By recounting his war experiences in a metaphorical and child-friendly manner, these tales were not only imaginative and captivating for the child, but also served a profound purpose: they were (1) a way to communicate his memories and experience to the following generations; (2) a means to cope with his experiences and past; (3) a tool to socialise and educate his son, transmitting moral norms, social memories and preparing him for life in society. This paper examines the relationship between fairy tales, sexuality, and national identity in socialist Slovenia. Theoretically, it builds on the canonical work by Bruno Bettelheim, The Uses of Enchantment. The main objective of the analysis is to interrogate the Freudian sexual script in relation to Slovene national identity formation. For this purpose, I study two fairy tales from the socialist period, France Bevk's Peter Klepec and Moj dežnik je lahko balon by Ela Peroci. This study evaluates the characteristics of Kazakh fairy tales as a cultural phenomenon from a scientific perspective. Fairy tales are important in determining the worldview of the Kazakh people and recognizing their conceptual orientation. The Kazakh worldview as a linguistic picture of the world in Kazakh fairy tales has been studied according to the theory of reflection. In the 21st century, the global importance of quality education and training has increased significantly. Future generations' ability to find their place in society depends on their level of education, competence and cognition. In the article, in accordance with the principles of reflection, the role of fairy tales in instilling positive qualities in a child - from an early age - is analyzed. Another important concept is the "self" of the individual. The ways in which fairy tales provide knowledge, creativity,application of established skills, social reflection, the ability of an intellectual individual to think about the meaning of life and existentialism are reviewed with specific examples. In this study, the image of Kazakh fairy tales as a cognitive and cultural phenomenon was tried to be determined cognitively. At the basis of the study of the linguistic image of the world are philosophical problems that examine the general problems of the image of the world. In world science, this concept was put forward by M. Heidegger. It is the meaning of the word "image (picture, video)" regarding the image of something that first comes to our mind. But the meaning of the concept of "world image" is deep and comprehensive. Where the world becomes a picture, general entities are seen as things that man aims at and therefore wants to present to himself, things that he opposes and literally wants to present to himself. In the present article, we regard mediated translations of fairy tales as unique recreations, making the afterlife of the original text and contributing to its variability. Our attention has been focused not so much on the equivalence of the mediated translation to the original as on the nature and main characteristics of the mediated translation as a text. The goal of this study has been to rethink the very status of indirect translations involving intralingual and intersemiotic readings of the original in our research. The survey results have demonstrated the fascinating potential of the source text to modify and transform.

This paper explores the application of augmented reality (AR) technology in primary school students' linguistic and literary education. A review of current research on AR in education is presented, including studies on AR books for literacy instruction and reading motivation. The benefits of AR for enhancing students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, and imagination are discussed. AR features are analysed in new “Living Alphabet” books used in Ukrainian schools. The development of a mobile AR application for interactive reading lessons on fairy tales is detailed; this app allows students to actively engage with literary characters and settings in an immersive 3D environment. Pedagogical models employing AR applications, games, and theatre activities are proposed to improve literary reading instruction and foster key competencies aligned with the Ukrainian New School curriculum. The paper concludes that when thoughtfully implemented, AR technology can enrich primary students' linguistic and literary learning. Further research is recommended to prepare teachers to integrate AR into language arts instruction.

Children's fairy tales are the first steps of learning through entertainment. Storytelling stimulates morality, creativity, and early awareness. Then comes the role of illustrations to raise the value of the story, and refer it to visual worlds, and helping the reader to imagine events and coexist with their heroes. However with the change of the elements of the modern era, and children’s tendency towards technology, and their great dependence on it as a source of learning and enjoyment, the need increased to search for new methods to reduce the gap between the child and reading, and to emphasize the role of the artist in imagining the story through the artworks accompanying the text. This research revolves around the art of illustrations, that has developed in recent years, and the emergence of new artistic trends, styles and techniques in addition to the classic style of presenting children's stories, some of which were associated with conceptual arts and postmodern arts. Artists who are passionate about children's fairy tales have been interested in re-presenting new visions for these two-dimensional and three-dimensional stories, we can see these works in exhibitions and public and specialized children's art museums. This research presents an analytical study in the development of telling children’s fairy tales as a creative stimulus for the works of contemporary artists through the development of art movement, to reach the features of renewal in the field of visual storytelling, and the cultural role of art museums in the communication between children and contemporary conceptual works of storytelling.

This research applies to study the development of the Executive Function (EF), basic cognitive skills, of early childhood children by using fairy tales and to compare pre and post Executive Function development, basic cognitive skills, by using fairy tales together with the following up the daily routines and independent learning activities. The sample subjects were fifteen 1st kindergarten students (male and female between 3 years to 3 year 11 months 29 days of age) of Tessaban 4 Ban Phu Bo Bit School selected by using a purposive sampling method. Researchers tested the Executive Function (EF) of the sample and then, selected the ones who got a lower point than the standard to participate in this study.The research instruments were (1) the Big Book of fairy tales to promote the Executive Function (EF) including 3 stories titled; Dot; David goes to school; Furry one will be a big brother (2) the lesson plan of organizing Big Book storytelling activity (3) the pretest and posttest of the daily routines, independent learning activities, and 3 Executive Functions (EFs) which are; working memory; inhibitory control; cognitive flexibility (4) the record form of student practice which has the reliability at the level 0.07. This study applied One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The statistics used were mean and t-test (Dependent Samples).The findings indicated that the early childhood children who have been developed by using storytelling activity and following up have a higher level of reception and Executive Function development, basic cognitive skills, including; working memory, listening and speaking skills; inhibitory control, self-confidence, and emotional control for expressing appropriate behaviors; cognitive flexibility, shift thinking and problem-solving. As a result, the early childhood children who have been developed by using storytelling activity and following up have a higher level of reception and Executive Function development than before significantly at .01 level.

The current article is devoted to the study of H. C. Andersen’s fairy tale The Ugly Duckling. The main subject of the study is the fabulous transformation of the tale’s protagonist from a loser into a winner. The research was performed within the archetypal paradigm originated by C. G. Jung (1875–1961). A simplified content analysis of the text was carried out using a set of archetypes composed of elements from the collections of С. Pearson and С. Myss. The study managed to a) identify the archetypal picture that accompanied the protagonist’s sad journey, b) find the key archetypes responsible for his unrelenting motivation to survive and search for a better life, and c) identify the archetypal mechanism of the hero’s transformation from a loser and an outcast into a winner. The results obtained allow us to conclude that Andersen’s fairy tale The Ugly Duckling is valuable from a scientific point of view as a treasure trove of human knowledge and historical experience. This fairy tale has great potential when applied to psychotherapy of trauma and to education, concretely, for work with children who have special needs. Great prospects for its use open up in the workplace, including management and the role training of manufacturers. In our rapidly developing information society, it seems that demand for this fairy tale will only grow.

The article presents a theoretical-methodological analysis of the psychodrama method of group psychotherapy. It examines the aim, objectives, advantages, peculiarities and structure of classical psychodrama as a method of group psychotherapy. Also, the article attempts to define psychodrama as a group psychotherapy process. It studies the links between psychodrama and methods of various psychological approaches. Importantly, the article suggests a phenomenological approach to studying the interaction among the participants in psychodramatic psychotherapy groups to develop effective technologies for implementing psychodramatic techniques. It justifies the methodological and methodical essence of psychodramatic technologies in group psychotherapy, its main characteristics and goals. From the perspective of an integrative approach, psychodramatic technologies in group psychotherapy ensure the interrelation and interdependence of its psychodiagnostic and psychodevelopmental components. Meanwhile, the article considers the organizational, methodical and structural-dynamic features of using the interactive and role-playing method in group psychotherapy depending on the type of psychodrama. It shows how one can practically apply the "mirroring" psychotechnique in combination with the fairy tale metaphor (the method of enacting a fairy tale) in all types of psychodrama, along with an analysis of the advantages of its use and resourcefulness. Finally, the article discusses a methodical combination of psychodrama and transactional analysis within the "psychodramatic triangle" technique. It provides methodical recommendations for emotional disorder correction using the psychodrama method. The relevant indicators of the effectiveness and efficiency of the psychodrama method in group psychotherapy include catharsis, insight, expressions of trust and a sense of comfort in the space of group interaction and feedback, as an existing objective reality. Fairytales have been told for as long as people have been telling stories. What started as folk tales passed on to each generation, became stories that are often associated with royalty, magic and far away lands. Popularized by the Grimm Brothers starting in 1812, and again by the Walt Disney Company and their animated films, fairytales are a staple in all media. With their simple narratives and stories that leave room for multiple interpretations, it is no wonder that authors use these fairytales as inspiration to tell a unique tale. From modern day settings, to taking the opportunity to create more stories for underrepresented groups such as the LGTBQ+ and BIPOC communities, fairytale retellings and their recent rise in the publishing world have endless opportunities. This paper examines the gothic fairy tale in Carmen Maria Machado's memoir In the Dream House and short story "The Husband Stitch" with a focus on Bluebeard's insistent presence and the interweaving of reality, gothic horror, and fairy tale. In the memoir, Machado restages her experience of queer intimate partner violence in the form of a gothic fairy tale as "The Queen and the Squid", reminiscent of the tale of Bluebeard's latest wife. By including gothic fairy-tale elements in the autobiographical text, Machado blurs the boundaries between the fictional and non-fictional realm, between her story and that of Bluebeard's latest wife, thereby rewriting the tale for a queer context. The annotation of the memoir using Stith Thompson's Motif-Index of Folk-Literature further superimposes the fairy tale onto Dream House. Machado's short story "The Husband Stitch" is a gender-aware inversion of "Bluebeard". The reappearance of the tale throughout Machado's work reveals the persistence of abusive behavioral patterns in relationships to the present day. Machado's intertextual storytelling blurs the lines between autobiographical events and the tale of Bluebeard's latest wife, creating a shared narrative universe of experiences of women who have dealt with their own iteration of Bluebeard. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the rise of audio-visual media, particularly cinema and television, brought about new visual techniques and storytelling conventions that have transformed the way fairy tales are adapted for the screen. Initially adapted for a younger audience, newer adaptations often return to the darker and more horrific elements of the source texts; this includes body horror and an emphasis on physiological differences. This article employs structural, cultural, and folkloric interpretive lenses for the analysis of three contemporary, audio-visual fairy tales to discuss the way contemporary fairy tales include disability and difference as social constructs that are shaped by cultural attitudes and anxieties. The stories' plots are driven by the protagonists' "otherness", and these texts feature transformations that provide clues to understanding current standards of beauty and normality. I argue that newer adaptations place an emphasis on finding resolutions to difference that challenge the traditional idea that if one has a face or body that strays from the standard of the norm, one must die, relegate oneself to the margins, or join others like oneself. The article highlights the possibilities of using fairy-tale therapy by parents, legal guardians, socionomic sphere specialists in the process of providing support and assistance to children during the war. The purpose of the article is to define the content of fairy-tale therapy and create an author's fairy tale, which is focused on pedagogical and psychological assistance to children affected by military operations. To achieve the goal, mainly theoretical research methods were applied: study, analysis and generalization of special psychological and pedagogical literature in order to identify the investigated problem. It is emphasized that a therapeutic fairy tale heals a person's soul, as it carries out powerful psychological work at the subconscious level. In order for the fairy-tale narrative to acquire a therapeutic character, it must reflect the child's problem. The process of creating an author's therapeutic fairy tale helps relieve tension in stressful situations, contributes to the constructive experience of emotions, develops communication skills, imagination, and distracts from difficult feelings. It was concluded that fairy-tale therapy is a unique method of treatment of mental health disorders caused by military actions, as children find echoes of inner experiences from their own lives in fairy tales. With its suspenseful atmosphere, mysterious and murderous male protagonist, and magical objects, it is hardly surprising that Charles Perrault's conte bleu 'La Barbe bleue' (1697) was the inspiration for numerous Gothic tales in the nineteenth century. Some of these adaptations placed Gothic devices such as the representation of the terror experienced by Bluebeard's latest wife within the broader nineteenth-century cultural discourse on female deviance, and its relations with masculine authority and dominance. By removing from the tale Perrault's warning against female curiosity and imprudence and focusing on the wife's feelings of fear and terror, these adaptations amplify the intrinsic Gothicism of the Bluebeard story, thus providing the female protagonist with a psychological depth that includes, as I demonstrate in this study, a display of a variety of abnormal behaviours. In these Gothic adaptations, the terror experienced by Bluebeard's wife serves as a springboard for the representation of psychological and nervous disorders commonly diagnosed in the nineteenth century such as hysteria, monomania, female depravity, and masochism. Showing the interculturality and intermediality of these themes, this essay analyses rewritings of Perrault's 'Bluebeard' from nineteenth-century Britain, France, and the United States, including Gothic bluebooks, poems, dramas, and short stories. This article analyses the censorship files that were processed during Franco’s dictatorship of the fairy tale Cinderella. In this way, the reader is offered an overview of the editing and censorship process of this work from 1939 to 1975, with the intention of showing the aspects in which the censors noted the greatest incidences: religion and the female model. This temporal perspective of the monographic analysis of the same story seems to be very useful, as it allows to understand the changes in the censorship process throughout its existence, as well as the transformation of censorship legislation from an initial stage to the enactment of specific regulations on children’s and young people’s literature. In his fairy tales, Oscar Wilde represents his ideological worldview by engendering anthropomorphised characters who would respond to Wildean didactic and Christian values. While the major literature on Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales concentrates on moral values, social inequality, the concept of beauty, and Victorian consumer culture, this article investigates Wilde’s perception of Victorian culture and nature through Ecocritical lenses. Wilde, I argue, draws a strict line between culture and nature, and his representations of culture are elevated, majestic, and alluring while his nature is demeaning, grotesque, and distasteful. Wilde only cherishes the aspect of nature which has become both semantically and physically domesticated and naturalised. The Garden becomes an epitome of naturalised nature which uniquely responds to cultural values. Furthermore, through exploring some tales from both The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888), and A House of Pomegranates (1891), I suggest that Wilde’s anthropomorphised characters are of less value in comparison to his human characters. Examining the role that innovations have in the field of cleanliness, providing a comprehensive perspective on the effects and perceptions of users, presents a beautiful fairy tale that brings the outcome of a context related to control, stress, and the fear of tomorrow. Variation is a core feature of folklore that plays a part in configuring the processes of folkloric communication, transmission and creativity. Computational analysis of large folklore collections offers new outlooks on the study of variation. The article explores the nature of folkloric variation on the basis of folk song and fairy tale text corpora from the Estonian Folklore Archives. Our enquiry into regional variation in Estonian folk song showed different patterns of geographic variation for metre, repertoire and language. To investigate further the possibilities to disassemble the components of variation we turned to a smaller corpus of fairy tale texts from the distinct Seto language community. The results of stylometric analysis of fairy tales collected within the close language community as a rule found that word usage patterns in stories told by the same storytellers were closer to each other than stories with the same content (i.e. tale types). However, other factors, such as collectors' individual styles, recording time, length of text, and storyteller's place of origin contributed notably to similarity as per stylometric scores. The study has shown that the individual features and aspects of such a complex phenomenon as folklore can follow its own variation patterns. Computational analysis of the variation in large text corpora helps us get a better understanding of the functioning of variation, and the processes of folkloric creation. However, the layers of folkloric variation are not that easy to disassemble, one must be aware of the biases in text corpora and keep in mind the effect of the linguistic variation on the results. No one can deny the vital role that fairy tales played in forming the personalities of successive generations across various regions worldwide. All adults should have pleasant memories with these books during their early childhood. These memories make these tales enjoyable for children and adults, as all adults consider reading these books a part of the nostalgia for these past peaceful and cheerful days. On the other hand, many studies proved the passive and hazardous impacts of fairy tales' implicit themes and hidden messages. For instance, these themes heavily influenced the stereotyping of feminine roles in society. Furthermore, these books enhanced the gender roles with the advantage of the masculine, active role. Throughout the wide range of these books, the readers can quickly identify male characters as saviors, supporters, and always positioned in the center of the women's life. Moreover, the traditional happy ending should be associated with the marriage of the rich and handsome prince/ gentleman. The author will examine the portrayal of the prominent female characters in selected traditional fairy tales to shed light on the concept of "objectification" as a central concept in structuring these characters by making them passive, helpless, and naïve. This article contributes to the discourse on experimental interwar fairy tales as a subgenre that undermines the anachronistic fairy-tale conventions to a selective negation or recontextualization in accordance with a contemporaneous cultural crisis. The contribution consists of demonstrating how fairy tales provide popular interwar religious authors with a platform to parallel the critical mirroring of their secular contemporaneous society with an articulation of a Christian, humanist optimism. A spatially focused comparison of Ödön von Horváth's cycle of fairy tales Sportmärchen (1924--1926, published posthumously in 1972), and Joachim Ringelnatz's Nervosipopel: Elf Angelegenheiten (1924) distinguishes the vertical and horizontal textual spaces to demonstrate that both authors reflect their metaphysically uprooted society through a negation of the genre's characteristic orientation toward harmonic equilibriums on a horizontal spatial axis. However, by overlaying destructive horizontals with antinomic, transcendence-signifying Christian verticals, the tales also articulate a modality of nearness to God, even in the secular world. This article provides a comparative analysis of fairy tale texts from Russian, Slovak, and Czech folklore, examining their structural, semantic, pragmatic, linguistic, and cultural features. The study focuses on the translation of fairy tales and explores the formulas used in the beginnings, middles, and endings of the texts. It also discusses the symbolism of objects, events, and motifs in fairy tales and their connection to sayings. The article highlights the importance of traditional formulas in conveying national culture and history. The text also includes a bibliography of sources related to the study of fairy tales and folklore, which can be useful for researchers interested in diverse cultural perspectives. The paper is devoted to the collection of Amália Sirotková (1813 - 1892) - the oldest known Slovak woman storyteller. Part of her manuscript collection from the 1850s has been preserved thanks to the estate of Pavel Dobšinský (1828 - 1885) who prepared two of her tales for publication in his Prostonárodné slovenské povesti (Slovak folk tales, 1880, 1882). The preserved notebooks are probably a fragment of a larger collection, but the extent of the manuscript remains unknown. "Povesti od Amálie Sirotkovej [Tales by Amália Sirotková]" archive stored in the Literary archive of the Slovak National Library in Martin contains three notebooks by A. Sirotková and one notebook written by another person and probably unrelated to A. Sirotková's collection. The first part of the article reflects on the question of authorship and the extent of the collection. The second part of the paper reconstructs the origin of the collection and outlines the possible ways in which the manuscript of A. Sirotková's might have reached P. Dobšinský. The aim is not to reflect on the language, spelling, style, or genre of A. Sirotková tales, but on the contexts of the collection with regard to parallel manuscript sources and the way it was used by editors of fairy tale books in the 19th century. This article explores the themes of mud, marsh, and dirt in three fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen: ”Clumsy-Hans,” ”The Swineherd,” and ”The Marsh King’s Daughter” from the perspective of queer theory. Following Michel Foucault’s reinterpretation of the Victorian Age as one characterized not mainly by repression but rather by production, proliferation, and multiplication of sexuality, I view Andersen’s texts as complex and ambivalent negotiations of desire and sexuality, purity and danger. The idyllic and harmonious surfaces reveal complex fantasies of both a sexual and scatological nature if, as a reader, one is willing to get one’s hands and mind dirty. The famous tale of ”Clumsy Hans” is seen as a celebration of a noble Son of Nature who literally knows his shit and is willing and able to manipulate it to his advantage. ”The Swineherd” is a misogynous story about a ”dirty” princess and about a prince who realizes that he is above both the dirt and the woman. The complex tale of ”The Marsh King’s Daughter” is an exploration of both incestuous and reproductive sexualities (both associated with marsh and mud) suggesting a higher, celestial escape from both forms. In a Foucauldian reading, Andersen’s texts can be seen as typically Victorian, in so far that the significance of sexuality is highlighted, but, except for ”Clumsy Hans”, they are also endeavors to imagine different ways to transcend the materiality – and the implied dangers and ”impurity” – of sex. The article aims to examine the fairytail Weihnachtsmärchen - that is the Fiaba per il Natale, in Italian translation -, written in 1907 by Lou Andreas von Salomé, one of the most effervescent and libertarian intellectual figures in late Nineteenth and early Twentieth century in Europe. Through the codes of the imaginary and the fantastic typical of the fairy tale, Salomé constitutes an ontology and a poetics of childhood in which delicacy, enchantment and wonder preserve the mystery of life, which, in the metaphor of Christmas remembered in the story, sustains the existence of the child in his thoughtful walk in the world. This article deals with the use of a 600 km long route through Germany, the "German Fairy Tale Route" in foreign language German lessons. In the context of the discursive approach, an attempt is made to create a didactic proposal on the topic of the "German Fairy Tale Route". In order to increase the interest and motivation of those learning German, an attempt is made to create didactic suggestions on the topic of "German Fairy Tale Route" with discursive regional studies using authentic and versatile materials. The article presents seven archetypical fairy tales composed to reflect the inner dynamics of some of the most common clinical cases in the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry. These seven stories provide seven collective archetypal images of child suffering. When clothed in a story, the pain is more bearable to live with and to deal with even in the most difficult environment.
