This document provides comparative salary trend data for full-time faculty in 26 academic disciplines/major fields for the baseline year 1994-95 and the trend year 1997-98 for 262 public and 387 private institutions. For each discipline/major field surveyed, the report provides a Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) definition, data tables providing information on salary by rank and faculty mix, and comparisons between the two study years. 3. Fourteen Reasons Privacy Matters: A Multidisciplinary Review of Scholarly Literature

Librarians have long recognized the importance of privacy to intellectual freedom. As digital technology and its applications advance, however, efforts to protect privacy may become increasingly difficult. With some users behaving in ways that suggest they do not care about privacy and with powerful voices claiming that privacy is dead, librarians may question whether privacy is worth protecting. This article reviews some of the extensive scholarly literature on privacy from disciplines outside the field of library science, including anthropology, law, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology, and it identifies fourteen reasons privacy matters to individuals, relationships, and to society. It also discusses the challenge of defining privacy and addresses the question of how the concept of privacy spans cultures. Librarians may find this broader understanding of the value of privacy useful in affirming and defending their commitment to the privacy of library users.

- Abstract
This bulletin is virtually a new edition of the work entitled "Special collections of American libraries," by William Coolidge Lane and Charles Knowles Bolton, published in 1892. Since the publication of that most important contribution to American library literature there have been several surveys of a local character published. While these surveys are of fundamental importance, in the scientific organization of our libraries a national survey is of even greater importance, because it is only by such a survey that collections of general value may be distinguished from those of merely local value and that the results of all local surveys may be generally known. It was for these reasons that the Commissioner of Education, in collecting the library statistics of the year 1908, determined to secure also information regarding special collections in libraries in the United States, and with that in view issued a circular, dated November 2, 1908, asking librarians to describe (1) any collections of books, pamphlets, periodicals, and documents in their libraries which were of unusual value either because of their completeness in foreign literature or early literature of a subject or because the works in them were monumental in character or of unusual rarity; (2) collections of interest primarily because of their history and associations; (3) unique copies of any book. This circular was sent to 2,298 libraries. In preparing the returns for publication very much has, of course, been omitted, and perhaps more might have been omitted with profit. It seemed better, however, to err on the side of inclusiveness. It also seemed better to arrange the material by subject matter rather than by place, although this plan involved more editorial labor. It should be added that these statistics, like others, must, in the nature of things, be only relatively correct, because some libraries, like the Library of Congress and the John Crerar Library, are growing very rapidly, and because libraries differ more or less in their classification of books. Among many literary terms found in the Lexicon Latinum (1742) by Andrija Jambrešić and Franjo Sušnik (auctor and scriptor — book writer; impressio — printing; libellus — booklet; typographeum — print house; typographia — to know how to set and print letters etc.) we can also find the term libellarium — bookcase, bookshelf, for keeping different letters and papers. This descriptive definition of libellarium sums up all the three areas this journal is dedicated to — the history of the writting, the history of books, and the history of memory institutions, which is the reason why this term was selected as the name of the journal. The main aims of Libellarium are motivating and promoting the research of the history of the written word, books and heritage institutions. The Croatian written and printed heritage offers infinite possibilities of research using the most current research methodology, which has not been applied in earlier research. The editorial board of Libellarium therefore invites research papers that will throw more light on the Croatian written and printed heritage, as well as papers that will promote research in line with the prevailing and the most current research paradigms. Such a blend of source and methodology is supposed to improve research methods, increase the interest in investigating the history of the written word, books and heritage institutions, and eventually result in their establishment as modern scientific disciplines in Croatian scholarship. This especially refers to the history of books, which has, in the past 50 years (starting with the pioneering book by Lucien Febvre and Henri-Jean Martin L’Apparition du livre published in 1958) evolved as a discrete scientific discipline with a developed research methodology that leans on the achievements of the history of literature, history in the narrow sense, cultural anthropology, sociology, librarianship, and many other sciences. There is only a handful of research papers from Croatia published in the past few years which follow, but also critically examine, the authors such as Robert Darnton, Roger Chartier, Paul Saenger, and other prominent scholars, as the modern research methodology has still not been sufficiently applied in humanities and social sciences research in Croatia. The editorial board of Libellarium wishes, on the one hand, to motivate modern research such as the interaction between the book and the reader, preparation of the manuscript or the printed text for the reader, appropriation methods, etc., and on the other, motivate the examination of the whole corpus of original sources for the history of (especially Croatian) books, as well as the interplay of social, cultural, intelectual, economic, legal and political circumstances that provided the conditions for the production, distribution and appropriation of texts, i.e. work that would establish firm foundations for future research. In line with this orientation, the first issue of Libellarium brings papers devoted to two issues. The papers by Aleksandar Stipčević, Željko Vegh and Slavko Harni present some of the possible sources for the history of books: private library inventories, records of canonical visitations and bibliographies. The papers by Jelena Lakuš, Maja Krtalić, Zorka Renić and Tatjana Kreštan examine the social circumstances of reading, librarianship and periodical publishing: preconditions for reading in Dalmatian reading societies in the early 19th century, the possibilities of publishers’ advertisements in newspapers from Osijek in the late 19th century, and the context of publishing local weekly journal (Tjednik bjelovarsko-križevački) in the late 19th and early 20th century. The paper by Andy White on the modern digital environment and the return of the age-old idea of a universal library may seem to be different from the two prevailing strands in other papers in this issue, but it also focuses on the examination of the general social and technological framework that accentuates this idea in certain historical periods. In addition to publishing research papers, Libellarium will also publish reprints of sources for the history of books. In this issue, following the paper by Slavko Harni, we bring the bibliography Književnost bosanska by Ivan Franjo Jukić. Finally, following the tradition of research journals, Libellarium will also publish reviews of important works on the history of the written word, books and heritage institutions.

11. Certified Medical Interpreters’ Perspectives on Relationship-Centered Communication in Safety-Net Care

This article was migrated. The article was marked as recommended. Background: Interpreters may offer valuable perspectives on ways clinicians could improve communication skills. Relationship-centered communication (RCC) curricula are based on a framework for promoting effective communication both with patients and within health care teams. Methods: We conducted a 90-minute workshop with certified interpreters at an academically-affiliated safety-net system to solicit feedback to optimize RCC skills trainings for clinicians at a U.S. academically-affiliated safety-net system. We applied an editing analysis style to transcribed quotes to reveal opportunities to optimize RCC skills trainings to improve safety-net care for diverse populations. Results: Twenty-two Spanish-, Cantonese-, Mandarin-, Vietnamese-, and Russian-speaking interpreters participated. Overall, interpreters emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for safety-net patients. One Spanish-speaking interpreter added: "When they get up in the morning and go to work, they may get deported. So, that's important to create an atmosphere to help them open up. And they may tell you stuff that's directly pertinent to patient care." Thematic analysis revealed opportunities to tailor and reinforce each RCC stage. On agenda-setting and rapport-building: "We need a little background on the phone, and we don't know how many people are in the room ... Sometimes you're talking to the mom, but the doctor didn't even bother to say it.. [If] we're lost, we're bound to make mistakes." On eliciting the patient's perspective: "Start with this information so they know you're still going to give them your advice: "I'm going to let you know what I think is going on, but what do you think is going on?" On negotiating a shared plan: "[Teachback] is really important. Otherwise it puts an incredible burden on the interpreter ... I'm not sure that the patient really understood." Conclusions: Teaching RCC in partnership with medical interpreters could provide opportunities to deepen clinician RCC skills for more effective patient-interpreter-clinician interactions.

The digital humanities (DH) is an emerging field of teaching and research that invites modern technologies to address traditional humanities questions while simultaneously making space for humanistic critiques of those technologies. A natural relationship exists between DH and the field of information studies (the iField), particularly surrounding their common focus on the interface between humans and computers, as well as subfields such as the organization of information, libraries and archives, data preservation, and information in society. Thus, we propose that iField programs in universities should take an active role in DH education. We are particularly interested in programs that are officially Information Schools (iSchools), members of the international iSchools Organization. Our research began as part of a DH curriculum committee convened by the iSchools Organization. To support iSchool engagement in DH education, we have inventoried and analyzed the degrees and supplemental credentials offered by DH education programs throughout the world. Our study deployed multiple data collection methods, which included conducting both ad hoc and comprehensive website surveys, querying an online DH catalog, and inviting members of the iSchools Organization to participate in an online questionnaire. This work has revealed several common patterns for the current structure of DH programs, including the various types of degrees or supplemental credentials offered. We observe that iSchools have a significant opportunity to become more engaged in DH education and we suggest several possible approaches based on our research.

Este artigo apresenta resultados de uma investigação bibliográfica acerca de como a avaliação educacional é contemplada nos Projetos Pedagógicos de Cursos – PPCs de licenciaturas. O estudo caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa qualitativa, na perspectiva do Estado do Conhecimento. O recorte temporal compreende os anos entre 2009 a 2019, sendo o material bibliográfico coletado nas seguintes bases de dados: Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD); Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES; bibliotecas online de programas de pós-graduação em avaliação (educacional); Google e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Os resultados encontrados nos trabalhos inventariados revelam que a avaliação educacional aparece de forma pontual nos documentos de curso, como disciplina ou na ementa de outras disciplinas, mas não recebe atenção de forma aprofundada, enquanto transdisciplina. Destaca-se o abismo entre estar presente no PPC versus a prática de avaliação de docentes, pois não fica claro se estas são pautadas apenas na avaliação para verificação da aprendizagem ou na avaliação para promoção das aprendizagens.

En: Doxa Comunicación: revista interdisciplinar de estudios de comunicación y ciencias sociales. e-ISSN 2386-3978 n. 33, 2021, pp Desde el año 2016, el análisis de la desinformación y las fake news se ha convertido en una de las principales tendencias en la investigación científica producida desde diferentes campos del saber. A fin de conocer cuáles son los temas, las áreas del conocimiento, los países de procedencia y los tipos de trabajo y metodologías de estos estudios, así como analizar su impacto, se presenta una revisión sistemática de la literatura realizada en la base de datos Web of Science. Se analizó un total de 605 artículos publicados entre 2016 y 2020. Se aplicaron cálculos estadísticos descriptivos e inferenciales no paramétricos (pruebas de Kruskal-Wallis y U de Mann-Whitney) con el objetivo de descubrir diferencias significativas en el número de citas recibidas en cada una de las variables anteriormente mencionadas. Las soluciones para afrontar el fenómeno de la desinformación son las temáticas más frecuentes, pero los trabajos sobre los patrones de propagación del contenido falso presentan mayor impacto. Destaca la alta presencia de estudios de tipo cuantitativo, sobre todo procedentes del ámbito anglosajón. La aproximación metodológica de los trabajos es la única variable que resulta relevante en el impacto de este tipo de estudios. Since 2016, the analysis of disinformation and fake news has become one of the main trends in scientific research fields. In order to discover the topics, areas of knowledge, countries of origin and methodologies of these studies, as well as to analyse their impact, a systematic literature review was conducted in the Web of Science database. A total of 605 articles published between 2016 and 2020 were analysed. Nonparametric descriptive and inferential statistical methods (Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests) were applied with the aim of discovering significant differences in the number of references received for each of the aforementioned variables. The most frequent topics are possible solutions to tackle disinformation, but papers on the propagation patterns of false content achieve greater impact. There is a notable presence of quantitative studies, mainly from English-speaking sources. The methodological approach is the only variable that can be considered relevant to the impact of this research.

17. Exploring Careers at Public Gardens: A Long-term Evaluation of The Morton Arboretum Public Horticulture Internship

A long-term evaluation of The Morton Arboretum’s Public Horticulture Internship Program was conducted. Of the 33 alumni of the internship between 2003 and 2019, 22 were contacted and asked to complete a survey and semistructured interview. Fourteen responded, representing interns who completed the program since 2003 though skewed somewhat toward more recent graduates. Results portrayed a well-received program that was generally effective in its goals. Forty-six percent of respondents were currently working in public gardens, including several in high-level administrative and leadership positions. Some that were not currently in the field pursued employment at public gardens, but were unsuccessful due to residing too far from a public garden, lack of available positions, failure to meet credential requirements of entry-level positions, or inability to earn a starting salary meeting their expectations. Others pursued adjacent green industry careers including environmental journalism or consulting. All respondents commented that the program provided effective exposure to public horticulture and careers at public gardens, although could be somewhat fast paced and overwhelming.

Este estudo analisou a atuação dos profissionais do Núcleo de Tecnologia Educacional Municipal (NTM) de Mossoró-RN na recontextualização do Programa Nacional de Tecnologia Educacional (ProInfo). Utilizou-se como referencial teórico analítico a abordagem do ciclo de políticas proposto por Ball e Bowe (1992). Realizamos observação não participante com registro em diário de pesquisa; entrevista semiestruturada com profissionais que atuam no NTM e professores cursistas do núcleo, utilizando análise de conteúdo em Bardin (2011). Os achados da pesquisa apontaram que os sujeitos inseridos no NTM interpretam e recontextualizam o ProInfo, demonstrando que, na prática, as políticas sofrem transformações, permeadas de correlação de forças para atender as especificidades locais da formação continuada.

Multilingual space is considered as one of the most important parts of the cultural environment that becomes a challenge for international students. The research ex-amined the multilingual space of St. Petersburg from the perspective of young people from China. Included observation, short interviews and analysis of Chi-nese freshmen essays serve as a source for the formation of a database of multi-lingual objects of everyday life of Chinese students and reveal language problems as the main challenges in the city multilingual space for a foreigner. The authors proposed an approach dividing the multilingual space of the city into space of communication and the "physical space of the language", existing vertically in three levels (city, university and personal areas). Expansion of the multilingual space at all levels due to the digital environment can significantly improve the language adaptation of students Although a coherent digital environment that provides the Chinese dimension to a multilingual environment does not yet exist. However, such elements as specially developed electronic guides and dictionaries, maps, augmented reality applications, communication platforms in social networks, etc. contribute to its future creation

The Science Clubs have stood out as spaces for Science Education. The objective of this work was to produce a Guide for the Implementation of a Science Club, based on the experience acquired in the creation of a Science Club at CIEP 394, a school in the State Education System of Rio de Janeiro, located in the city of Nova Iguacu. The methodology employed prior research of interest with high school students, implementation and continuation of activities based on investigative teaching sequences of interest to the group, resulting in the elaboration of the Guide. It is expected that the Guide will contribute to the dissemination of the Science Clubs proposal, aiming at the improvement of Scientific Education and the formation of more aware and participative individuals in society.

O estudo apresenta um recorte do conceito de leitura expressado por bibliotecários do Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina (IFSC), práticas formadoras de leitores e promoção da leitura nas bibliotecas dessa instituição pública de ensino. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva e qualitativa que utilizou questionário eletrônico enviado a 11 bibliotecários lotados nas bibliotecas do IFSC dos câmpus da região da Grande Florianópolis, com retorno de aproximadamente 90% desse universo de bibliotecários. No conceito destes bibliotecários, a leitura é um ato de interpretação e produção de sentidos, pressupondo que a leitura tem uma estreita relação entre informação e conhecimento na clave da leitura, quer de estudo, como a leitura de fruição ou lazer. Desenvolvem práticas de incentivo à leitura com atividades lúdicas sobre obras de literatura de ficção: roda de leitura, leitura e debates e sarau literário, e com divulgação do livro e da leitura: exposição de livros, indicação de obras literárias, troca-troca de livros, estante expositiva e estante permanente de destaque de obras literárias. Práticas estas criadas por estes profissionais da leitura e escrita, informação e conhecimento, no intuito de uma formação continuada de leitores e promoção da leitura reconhecendo a leitura como importante quesito para formação pessoal, acadêmica e profissional.

Open Access (OA) journal collections can add diversity and breadth to a library’s theological resources. I discussed my experience of creating a collection of over 800 OA religion journals in the OCLC Knowledge Base. For OCLC member libraries, these titles may be added to their library catalog. For other libraries, these titles are available through the Open Access Digital Theological Library. We considered OA materials from majority world regions and languages such as Spanish and Korean. The proceedings include a list of OA collections and a bibliography. There was time for questions and sharing experiences.

Library renovation caused the staff of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary to plan a move of library services to a temporary location. The staff selected a subset of books to remain available to users; 90,000 volumes were placed in storage. Records for unavailable volumes were suppressed so that users would only see information about books available to them. The staff chose 6,000 books for a temporary library, based on faculty needs and past usage. Books were moved in January 2020. Staff were continuously involved in refining design and furniture decisions during the construction process, scheduled for completion in September 2021. The new Wright Learning and Information Center will feature a large collaborative space and a digital learning center. Lessons learned include the necessity for constant communication among staff members and keeping in mind that users want normal library services, despite the disruptions of a construction project.

Para garantizar la continuidad educativa interrumpida por el coronavirus, la Universidad Hassan 1 en Marruecos y la Universidad de Angers en Francia y agrupar un proyecto de tándem electrónico para enseñar francés como lengua extranjera (FLE). Del lado angevino, La experiencia permitirá a los estudiantes de las didácticas FLE realizar su pasantía con una audiencia que pertenece a diferentes entornos geográficos y culturales ; en el lado marroquí, estudiantes de Hassan 1 Universidad dieciocho estudiantes elegidos en dos establecimientos, vivirá en momentos de apertura para desarrollar sus habilidades lingüísticas y comunicativas con los nativos franceses. Los tándems están diseñados en función de las necesidades de los estudiantes marroquíes con un programa temático concertado por los gerentes educativos de las dos universidades. La dimensión intercultural será la base de esta experiencia, cuyo objetivo principal es utilizar nuevas tecnologías para comprender al Otro en sus aspectos lingüísticos, culturales y de civilización To ensure educational continuity which has been broken by the Coronavirus, Hassan 1 University in Morocco and the University of Angers in France have pooled an E-tandem project for teaching French as a foreign language (FLE). On the Angevin side, the experience will allow students of the FLE didactics to carry out their internship with an audience belonging to different geographic and cultural backgrounds; on the Moroccan side, eighteen students from two different schools belonging to Hassan 1 University have been chosen to live opening moments to develop their linguistic and communicative skills with French natives. The tandems are designed based on the needs of Moroccan students with a thematic program concerted by the educational managers of the two universities. The intercultural dimension will be the foundation of this experience, the main aim of which is to use new technologies to understand the Others as far as their linguistic, cultural and civilizational aspects. Covid 19 a certainement ankylosé tous les secteurs actifs stratégiques des sociétés à l’échelle planétaire. Mais la ténacité du virus a paradoxalement engendré des para systèmes pour contourner les méfaits afin de sauver l’humanité de l’emprise de cette pandémie meurtrière. Au Maroc, comme partout dans le monde, le domaine de l’enseignement n’est pas le moins touché. Mis à l’épreuve par un ennemi imprévisible mettant la vie humaine en péril, les établissements universitaires doivent faire face au monstre et relever le défi afin d’assurer la continuité pédagogique Au Maroc, parmi les cinq fonctions de l’Ecole, stipulées par Le Conseil Supérieur de l’Education, de la Formation et de la Recherche scientifique dans le cadre de la vision stratégique de la Réforme (2015-2030), on trouve celle relative à la Recherche et à l’innovation. Certes, innover, en général, et surtout en pédagogie est un acte complexe. Parfois, l’action d’innover est synonyme d’aventure qui pourrait conduire à l’échec ou à la réussite. Mais quand les facteurs de l’innovation sont disponibles, l’art du management consiste à saisir cette opportunité pour insuffler un esprit de team building afin d’ouvrir de nouveaux horizons, dépasser « la vision du tunnel» et aplanir les obstacles en construisant de nouveaux paradigmes scientifiques et professionnels susceptibles de s’ériger en mode de fonctionnement efficient. C’est dans ce cadre que les deux universités ont mis en commun un projet E-tandem pour l’enseignement du français langue étrangère ( FLE). Du côté angevin, l’expérience va permettre aux étudiants du didactique du FLE d’effectuer leur stage avec un public appartenant à un sol géographique et culturel différent ; du côté marocain, les étudiants de l’université Hassan 1er – vingt-huit étudiant (e) s choisi(e)s dans quatre établissements , vont vivre des moments d’ouverture pour développer leurs compétences linguistiques et communicatives avec des natifs français. Les tandems sont conçus à partir des besoins des étudiants marocains avec un programme thématique concerté par les responsables pédagogiques des deux universités. La dimension interculturelle sera le socle de cette expérience dont le but principal consiste à se servir des nouvelles technologies pour comprendre l’Autre dans ses aspects linguistiques, culturels et civilisationnels.

Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa do tipo Estado do Conhecimento, realizada com o objetivo de mapear e analisar as produções científicas sobre o coordenador pedagógico no Brasil. Os textos analisados são teses localizadas na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD/Ibict) e no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenadoria de Aperfeiçoamento de Professores do Ensino Superior (CTD/CAPES). Para acessar os textos utilizamos a ferramenta eletrônica de busca com as palavras-chave “coordenador pedagógico” e “coordenação pedagógica”, tendo como filtro o recorte temporal de 2009 a 2019. Foram localizados 255 teses, das quais foram selecionadas 25 para análise dos resumos – somente aquelas que tinham como foco a atuação do coordenador pedagógico nas etapas do Ensino Fundamental e Ensino Médio da Educação Básica. As análises apontam que a maior parte das teses encontradas para as palavras-chave “coordenador pedagógico” e “coordenação pedagógica” enfatizam o seu processo formativo. Quanto a temática “bem-estar dos coordenadores pedagógicos”, concluímos que é uma temática ainda não discutida na academia, pois não foi localizado nenhum trabalho sobre o tema. Entendemos, por meio deste Estado do Conhecimento, ter encontrado um campo propício a novas pesquisas.

This article proposes to dialogue about the dissemination of politeness through reading and teaching manuals, especially in the manuals of the Guidance Library Collection of the primary teacher of the Brazilian-American Assistance Program for Elementary Education (PABAEE-INEP), between the years 1956-1964. In order to reflect on such readings inserted as mechanisms for the circulation and dissemination of the desired good manners for the constitution of a modern society, we sought to glimpse interfaces between the manuals of the aforementioned Collection and the manuals of good manners of North American authorship, marketed in Brazil in the same period, with a view to showing how schooling is inscribed in certain projects of societies and their civilizing process. This study sought to dialogue with research in the field of History of Education, in particular, schooling interviewed by the relationships between training materials produced inside and outside the school environment. Este estudio propone dialogar sobre la difusión de la buena educación a través de la lectura y los manuales didácticos, especialmente en los manuales de la “Colección Bibliotecaria de Orientación Docente de Primaria” del Programa Brasileño-Americano de Asistencia a la Educación Primaria (PABAEE-INEP), entre los años 1956 -1964. Con el fin de reflexionar sobre tales lecturas insertas como mecanismos de circulación y difusión de las buenas costumbres deseadas para la constitución de una sociedad moderna, se buscó vislumbrar interfaces entre los manuales de la citada Colección y los manuales de buenas costumbres de autoría norteamericana comercializado en Brasil en el mismo período, con miras a mostrar cómo la escolarización se inscribe en ciertos proyectos de sociedades y su proceso civilizador. Este estudio buscó dialogar con la investigación en el campo de la Historia de la Educación, en particular, la escolarización entrevistada por las relaciones entre los materiales formativos producidos dentro y fuera del ámbito escolar. Este estudo tem como proposta dialogar sobre a difusão das boas maneiras por meio de manuais de leitura e ensino, em especial nos manuais da “Coleção Biblioteca de Orientação da Professôra Primária” do Programa de Assistência Brasileiro-Americana ao Ensino Elementar (PABAEE-INEP), entre os anos de 1956-1964. Background of the study: COVID-19 impacts library activities. However, previous studies have not analysed the use of electronic resources (online database) before and during the pandemic, especially concerning higher education libraries in Indonesia. Purpose: This study investigated electronic collections before (2019) and during the pandemic (2020) in the Universitas Indonesia Library. Method: This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. Using online database usage logs from 2019 to 2020. Findings: The study divided its online database comparisons into several clusters, including multi-disciplinary, health, science and technology, and social science and humanities. The findings show that the use of almost all electronic collections declined in 2020, especially the use of e-books and protocol collections. When grouped according to knowledge clumps, however, the use of electronic collections increase in 1) health and 2) social sciences and humanities. Use declined in 1) multi-disciplinary and 2) science and technology clusters. Conclusion: This study recommends further research.

Background of the study: Libraries use social media to promote libraries for users, one of which is Instagram. Gadjah Mada University Library (UGM) and several faculty libraries have used Instagram as a promotional media, but not all are up to date. Purpose: The purposes of this study are to identify the way the faculty library promotes through Instagram and analyze the motivation factors and obstacles faced in promoting the library through Instagram. Method: This study was conducted at the faculty library at UGM used a thick description with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. This study discusses the use of Instagram as a library promotion media from librarians and staff who manage the library's Instagram. Findings: The results of the study show that: First, seven of the eighteen library libraries at UGM were promoted through Instagram. The way the faculty library promoting on Instagram is through posting content such as documenting events, library services, promoting events, and e-resources. Second, the motivation factor of the faculty library at UGM to use Instagram as a promotion media is to adapt to the generation of users and social media used by users. The obstacle faced by most faculty libraries in using Instagram as a library promotion media is the limitations of Human Resources (HR). Conclusion: The use of Instagram as a promotion media of faculty libraries at UGM is still not up to date. The majority of faculty libraries haven't used Instagram to promote the library. Seven faculty libraries have used Instagram but are not the same in up to date.

O artigo resulta de busca sobre o tema controvérsia, utilizando-se como buscadores as palavras: “Controvérsia”, “Controvérsia Controlada”, e variações (“Controvérsias Sociocientíficas”, “Questões Sociocientíficas”), a partir do banco de dados do grupo de pesquisa CTS e Educação, do Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET-RJ), que contém 375 artigos nacionais publicados entre os anos 1996 e 2018 em periódicos qualificados sobre CTS na área de Ensino. O objetivo foi relacionar os artigos que abordassem a temática e analisar as redes sociais formadas pelos parâmetros bibliográficos selecionados (autores, instituições, palavras-chave e referências mais citadas). Com um total de 34 artigos selecionados, utilizando o software Pajek, foi possível a construção de uma rede de palavras-chave, onde observamos forte relação da controvérsia com CTS e ensino de ciências, além da obtenção de métricas referentes à entrada de instituições e de autores nos trabalhos levantados, onde observamos certos autores como articuladores da comunicação entre diferentes instituições de pesquisa.

En este trabajo se presenta un análisis del estudio de pertinencia de un programa educativo de posgrado realizado en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí (UTM). Los resultados obtenidos a partir del análisis estadístico descriptivo, permitió definir el perfil de salida del egresado de la maestría con Trayectoria de Investigación en Psicología, Mención Psicoterapia con orientaciones que pertenecen tanto al campo de la Psicología como de la Investigación. Producto de la pandemia de COVID-19, la práctica educativa en los distintos niveles del sistema se vio alterada y sometida a una situación de contingencia que obligó a los docentes a usar herramientas tecnológicas y estrategias para la enseñanza en un contexto de virtualidad. El presente estudio tiene como finalidad describir el paso de una docencia presencial a una educación remota de emergencia y las dificultades que presentó esto para los académicos de la Universidad Arturo Prat (UNAP) de Chile, en cuanto al uso de las tecnologías disponibles para el desarrollo de las actividades lectivas en el contexto de la pandemia. Se desarrolla una investigación de carácter cualitativo, para caracterizar la disposición y problemáticas que evidenciaron los académicos frente a la enseñanza remota, a través de las percepciones de los directores de docencia. Los resultados muestran que los académicos han trasladado el formato de sus clases presenciales a la virtualidad, generando con ello la aplicación de un nuevo formato docente en modalidad remota. Asimismo, se demuestra un uso diferenciado de las tecnologías digitales disponibles según los tramos de edad de los docentes.

This paper aims to examine the use of inclusive French in the Internet publications of Paris universities on their social media. Three higher education institutions were selected: Paris Dauphine-PSL University, Gustave Eiffel University, and Sorbonne Paris North University. The publications were obtained from Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Firstly, the groups of people to whom the use of inclusive French referred were considered. The second question was about the practices used to make the French language inclusive. Eight practices were observed and are described in the paper. A metodologia consiste na edição de um programa de um minuto a ser veiculado em emissoras locais. Constata-se que os alunos colocam em prática a teoria recebida em sala de aula e conhecem outra realidade. Para os alunos da Pestalozzi, observa-se uma melhora da autoestima e o aprimoramento das técnicas vocais.

One of the biggest challenges for educational institutions is dealing with school dropout, which restricts the full right of citizens to education. In this context, this article aims to map studies carried out in the area of dropout and persistence in High school integrated to vocational education, from 2011 to 2020, which present causes of school dropout and proposed actions for student persistence. The theoretical subsidy features contributions from Temp and Coutinho (2020), Dore and Luscher(2011), Veiga and Bergiante(2016), Marques et al.(2019) and Libâneo (2013). The methodology used is the Systematic Literature Mapping (MSL), which allows a bibliographical review in an organized and systemic way, carried out in the databases of CAPES Periodicals and Academic Google. As a result, 11 (eleven) works were found, enabling the organization of a table with information that will support the development of the educational product to be presented in the Master's Degree in Professional and Technological Education - ProfEPT.

Bireyler duygu, düşünce ve deneyimlerini paylaşabilme, sevdiği kişilerden haber alma ve yeni bilgiler öğrenebilme amacıyla iletişim kurarlar. Bu nedenle tüm bireyler varlıklarını sürdürebilmek için her an iletişim içerisindedirler. İnsanlık tarihinin başlangıcında ses ve görsel ögelerle gerçekleştirilen iletişimde jest, mimik ve sinyaller kullanılmaktadır. Bu dönemde insanlar mağara duvarlarına resimler çizerek, ateşten yararlanarak ve hayvan boynuzlarından sesler çıkararak haberleşmektedirler. Yazının bulunması ile iletişim biçiminde değişiklikler yaşanmıştır. Toplumlar anlaşabilecekleri yazı biçimi oluşturarak iletişim gereksinimlerini karşılamışlardır. 20. yüzyılda ise teknoloji alanında büyük gelişmeler yaşanmış ve iletişim, sanal ortamlarda gerçekleşmeye başlamıştır. Teknoloji ve internette yaşanan gelişmeler birey ve toplumların bu alana yönelmelerine yol açmıştır. Bireyler haberleşme, bilgi edinme ve paylaşma gereksinimlerini sanal mecralarda karşılamaya başlamışlardır. Bu dönemde sosyal medya platformlarına yoğun ilgi başlamış ve daha önce gerçekleşen yüz yüze iletişim önem kaybetmeye başlamıştır. Her sosyal medya kullanıcısı sosyal medyayı aynı amaç doğrultusunda kullanmamaktadır. Araştırma, sosyal medya platformlarını ve kullanım amaçlarını ele alması açısından önem taşımaktadır.Araştırma kapsamında bir vakıf üniversitesinden seçilen 40 öğrenci, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter ve YouTube sosyal ağlarını ele alan 40 afiş tasarımı hazırlamıştır. Hazırlanan bu afişler araştırmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır.Araştırma konusu hakkında geniş literatür taraması yapılmıştır. 40 üniversite öğrencisinin bulunduğu bir çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Öğrencilerden sosyal medya algılarını yansıtacak afiş oluşturmaları ve ardından afişlerini değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular değerlendirildiğinde çalışma grubunda en çok ele alınan sosyal medya platformunun Instagram olduğu ve sosyal medyanın en çok kimlik oluşturma amacı ile kullanıldığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır., Individuals communicate to share their feelings, hear from ideas and experiences, and people they love and learn new information. Therefore all individuals are in touch at any moment to live a life. At the beginning of humankind, gesture, mimic, and signals were used in communication with audio and visual elements. In this period people communicated by drawing pictures on the walls of the cave, using fire, and making sounds from the horn of an animal. There have been changes in the way of communication with the finding of the writing. Societies met a need for communication by creating a print format. In the 20th century, there were extreme changes in the field of technology and people started to communicate in a virtual environment. Societies went towards that field because of developments in technology and the internet. Individuals started to meet a need for communication, learning information, and sharing in a virtual environment. In this period people started to be into social media platforms and face-to-face communication started to lose its importance. Every social media user doesn’t use social media for the same purpose. The thesis is important in terms of dealing with social media platforms and their intended purposes. The research includes 40 students chosen from any university, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube users, and 40 design posters prepared by students. An extensive literature review was conducted on the subject of the research. A study group with 40 university students was created Students were asked to create a poster reflecting their social media perceptions and then evaluate the posters. When the findings obtained in the research are evaluated, it is concluded that the most discussed social media is used mostly to create identity.

En este Editorial, reflexiono sobre diversas experiencias de aprendizaje surgidas del período de cuatro años como Editora de Avances de Investigación en Educación Matemática. En particular, doy gracias a los autores, revisores y editores asociados, y a todos aquellos que leen y consideran los manuscritos que se publican en la revista. AIEM está a punto de alcanzar sus 10 años de vida y este es un motivo de celebración, junto con la entrada de la nueva Editora, Ceneida Fernández. Tras superar con éxito muchos retos y formular muchos otros, AIEM ya no es una ‘niña pequeña’ en la comunidad internacional de revistas de investigación en educación matemática.

This article or writing aims to provide an effective understanding of the analysis of the performance of public services in Kecandran Village, Siomukti District, the problem is focused on a more in-depth analysis of public service activities in Kecandran Village and examine the form of responsiveness carried out by employees and related parties in the service. In order to approach this problem, Nicholas Henry's theoretical reference is used (in Suwitri, 2011), Carl Van Horn dan Donal Van Meter, 1975. The data were collected through descriptive research methods through field observations, primary and secondary data and interviews, and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that it is necessary to conduct research related to the analysis of the performance of public services at the Kecandran sub-district office, Sidomukti District which is more in-depth on human resources and responsiveness.

The current Covid-19 pandemic obliges children to study online. It requires children to use gadgets either smart hand phone or laptop. It makes a big increasing gadgets utilization. A lot of children spend their time just playing 'online games'. Adults who do activities or work from home on average spend their time using gadgets. With this phenomenon, people's interest in reading has decreased. One way to increase people's interest in reading is by making the Karangmojo Village Community Reading Corner. In the current era of globalization, this Community Reading Corner not only provides a physical library but also provides a digital library that can be accessed via the web by the people of Karangmojo Village.

The main objective of this study is to evaluate Citizenship Education (CE) literature through systematic bibliometric analysis. The science mapping method was conducted to analyze data. Because CE is also studied with the names of social studies and civic education in the literature, articles related to these topics were included in the study. 4029 articles and proceeding papers that were obtained from the WoS database were analyzed. As a result of the study, it was revealed that number of publications has been dramatically increased in recent years. Moreover, Theory and Research in Social Education Journal was found as the most relevant source in terms of number of publications about CE. Furthermore, the study conducted by Westheimer and Kahne in 2004 was determined as the most influential source that has the most citations per year in the field. Finally, it was found that USA and UK are the most productive, most cited, and most collaborative countries in terms of scientific publications.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı 2010-2019 yılları arasında bilimsel okuryazarlık alanında Türkiye’ de yayımlanan çalışmaların içerik analizini yapmak ve bu çalışmaların eğilimlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla bilimsel okuryazarlık kavramı ile ilgili araştırmalar türü, yılı, amacı, örneklem düzeyi, örneklem sayısı, örneklem seçim şekli, yöntem ve deseni, veri toplama araçları, verilerin analiz şekli, tezlerin yayımlandığı üniversiteler ve makalelerin yayımlandığı dergiler açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Yöntem: Çalışma yöntemi nitel araştırma yöntem türlerinden doküman incelemesidir. Araştırmada toplam 55 yüksek lisans, 7 doktora tezi ve 28 makale analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen çalışmalar yayın sınıflama formundan yararlanarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışma sonucunda bilimsel okuryazarlık çalışmalarının en fazla yüksek lisans tezi olduğu, en fazla çalışmanın 2019 yılında yayımlandığı, örneklem olarak daha çok ortaokul-lise öğrencileri üzerinde çalışıldığı ve örneklem şekli olarak daha çok kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem seçildiği görülmüştür. İncelenen çalışmalarda daha çok nicel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmalar amaçlarına göre sınıflandırıldığında, çoğunlukla bilimsel okuryazarlık ile çeşitli değişkenler arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlendiği çalışmalar tespit edilmiştir. Bilimsel okuryazarlık alanında Marmara Üniversitesi’nde diğer üniversitelere göre daha fazla tez çalışmasının yapıldığı sonucu elde edilmiştir. Sonuçlar ve Öneriler: Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, araştırmacıların tezlerden yayın üretmeye teşvik edilmesi önerilebilir.Kolay örnekleme yöntemleri yerine tabakalı örnekleme, rastgele örnekleme, sistematik örnekleme vb. kullanılmalıdır;ortaokul-lise grupları dışındaki gruplarla da çalışılmalıdır., Purpose: The purpose of this study to examine the scientific publications published in the field of scientific literacy between the years of 2010 and 2019 in the Turkey and to reveal trends. For this purpose, publications related to scientific literacy were evaluated in terms of publication type, date, aims, type of sample, number of sample, selection of sample, methods, data collection tools, data analysis techniques, subject areas, the publishing journal and universities where thesis are published. Design & Methodology: In this study, a qualitative research method, document review was used. A total of 55 Master’s theses, 7 PhD theses dissertations and 28 articles were analyzed. The obtained works have been classified by using the publication classification form. Findings: As a result of the study, it was observed that scientific literacy studies were mostly master’s theses, the most studies were published in 2019, mostly secondary school-high school students were studied as a sample, and a more easily accessible sample was chosen as the sample. Quantitative research methods were mostly used in the studies. When the studies are classified according to their purposes, it has been determined that mostly the relationships between scientific literacy and various independent variables are determined. In addition, it was found that more thesis studies were done at Marmara University compared to other universities. Implications & Suggestion: According to the results of the study, it can be suggested that researchers should be encouraged to produce publication from theses.Instead of easy sampling methods; stratified sampling, random sampling, systematic sampling etc. should be used; it should also be worked with groups other than the secondary school-high school group.
