[ES] La Avenida Pérez Galdós (Valencia) soporta un elevado tráfico, entre 60.000 y 70.000 vehículos diarios. El túnel existente que pasa bajo la Avenida del Cid y la calle Ángel Guimerá permite un tráfico fluido entre la Avenida de la Giorgeta y el margen del antiguo Cauce (Passeig de la Petxina). A pesar de aumentar la capacidad de la avenida, las entradas a este túnel producen un efecto barrera que no permite a los peatones cruzar de un lado a otro. Alrededor del 2015 surgió un movimiento vecinal que demanda la supresión del túnel de la avenida Pérez Galdós, en Valencia. Los vecinos crearon una plataforma llamada ¿Fuera Túnel Pérez Galdós¿, proponiendo la conversión de esta importante avenida en una calle más amable para el ciudadano, reduciendo notablemente su capacidad y, lógicamente, suprimiendo el túnel. El presente Trabajo Final de Máster pretende abordar la problemática de eliminar este túnel desde el enfoque de la ingeniería de tráfico, estudiando la capacidad actual de la Avenida Pérez Galdós (Valencia) y de la propuesta planteada por la vecindad (supresión del túnel) empleando el Highway Capacity Manual 2010. ¿Puede mantenerse un nivel de servicio de tráfico aceptable sin el túnel?, [CA] L'Avinguda Pérez Galdós (València) es un carrer on circulen entre 60.000 i 70.000 vehicles diaris. El túnel que passa sota l'Avinguda del Cid i el carrer Àngel Guimerà permet un trànsit fluid entre l'Avinguda de la Giorgeta i el marge de l'antic Llera (Passeig de la Petxina). Tot i augmentar la capacitat de l'avinguda, les entrades a aquest túnel produeixen un efecte barrera que no permeten als vianants creuar d'un costat a un altre. Al voltant del 2015 va sorgir un moviment veïnal que demana la supressió del túnel de l'avinguda Pérez Galdós, a València. Els veïns van crear una plataforma anomenada "Fora Túnel Pérez Galdós", proposant la conversió d'esta important avinguda en un carrer més amable per al ciutadà, reduint notablement la seua capacitat i, lògicament, suprimint el túnel. El present Treball Final de Màster pretén abordar la problemàtica d'eliminar aquest problema des de l'enfocament d'enginyeria de trànsit, estudiant la capacitat actual de l'Avinguda Pérez Galdós (València) i de la proposta plantejada pel veïnatge (supressió del túnel) emprant el Manual de Capacitat de Carreteres 2010. Es pot mantenir un nivell de servici de trànsit acceptable sense el túnel?, [EN] The Pérez Galdós avenue (Valencia) has 60,000 and 70,000 vehicles per day. The tunnel that passes under the Avenue of the Cid and the street Angel Guimerá allows a fluid traffic between the Avenue of the Giorgeta and the margin of the old Cauce (Passeig de la Petxina). In spite of increasing the capacity of the avenue, the entrances to this tunnel produce a barrier effect that do not allow the pedestrians to cross from one side to another. Around 2015 a neighborhood movement emerged that demanded the suppression of the Perez Galdós Avenue tunnel in Valencia. The neighbors created a platform called "Fuera Túnel Pérez Galdós", proposing the conversion of this important avenue into a street more friendly to the citizen, significantly reducing its capacity and, logically, suppressing the tunnel. The present Master Final Work aims to address the problem of eliminating this problem from the traffic engineering approach, by studying the current capacity of the Avenida Pérez Galdós (Valencia) and the proposal proposed by the neighborhood (tunnel suppression) using the Manual Of Road Capacity 2010. Is it possible to maintain an acceptable level of traffic service without the tunnel?

V magistrski nalogi je predstavljena prometna terenska raziskava pokopališč v Dvorjanah, na Dobravi ter na Pobrežju. V okviru raziskave so analizirani generacija, distribucija, modal split, struktura povpraševanja in dostopnost posameznega pokopališča ter potovalne navade obiskovalcev. Na podlagi rezultatov so bile ugotovljene zakonitosti in specifike povpraševanja na pokopališčih ter razviti ukrepi za izboljšanje mobilnosti obiskovalcev in dostopnosti obravnavanih pokopališč. This master's thesis presents the transportation field analysis of cemeteries Dvorjane, Dobrava and Pobrežje. The study alalyzed the generation, distribution, modal split, the structure of demand and the accessibility of individual cemetries as well as travel habits of visitors. The results helped to identify the characteristics and specifics of demand for cemeteries, and develop measures to improve the mobility of visitors and accessibility of the analyzed cemetries.

Ensuring the best quality of smart multimedia services becomes an essential goal for modern enterprises so there is always a need for effective IP mobility smart management schemes in order to fulfill the following two main functions: (I) interconnecting the moving terminals around the extended indoor smart services. In addition, (II) providing session continuity for instant data transfer in real-time and multimedia applications with negligible latency, efficient bandwidth utilization, and improved reliability. In this context, it found out that the Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) over LTE-A network that offers many advanced services for large numbers of users with higher bandwidths, better spectrum efficiency, and lower latency. In GMPLS, there is an elimination of the routing searches and choice of routing protocols on every core LTE-A router also it provides the architecture simplicity and increases the scalability. A comparative assessment of three types of IPv6 mobility management schemes over the LTE-A provided by using various types of multimedia. By using OPNET Simulator 17.5, In accordance with these schemes, it was proven that the IPv6-GMPLS scheme is the best choice for the system's operation, in comparison to the IPv6-MPLS and Mobile IPv6 for all multimedia offerings and on the overall network performance.

As part of a long-term partnership between the World Bank and Brazil, the Federal Government of Brazil sought the World Bank’s assistance to review road safety management capacity in Brazil, building both on past experiences in the country and international best practices. This National Road Safety Management Capacity Review, therefore, was prepared by the World Bank, with the support of the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF). The primary objective of the review is to evaluate the multi-sectoral capacity of road safety management in Brazil, identifying possible road safety challenges and presenting recommendations to address these challenges. The methodology of the review, in accordance with the guidelines of the World Bank Global Road Safety Facility, focused on examinations of key functional aspects of road safety, including institutions, legislation, financing, information, and capacities at all levels of government and among non-government actors. The review was prepared mainly based on interviews of key road safety stakeholders at the federal, state, and municipal levels, members of parliament, NGOs, and the private sector, in addition to direct inspection of roads and on-road behaviors, and the analysis of published research and reports on road safety. In addition, information and understanding gained from previous reviews of the states of São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, and Bahia were also incorporated.

The advent of mobile computing and sensing technologies, in conjunction with omni-present and high-speed mobile networks, allow nowadays the capture of human mobility data at an extremely high fidelity. Modern mobile computing services not only have the capacity to store spatio-temporal mobile data, these nowadays also have the capability to process incoming data in near-real time. As a result, we have a better chance to develop effective strategies and build intelligent systems that play critical roles in areas like public health, traffic engineering, urban planning and economic forecasting. On the other hand, detailed movement data often poses a threat to the privacy and security of users and companies, given that mobile devices are associated with real human custodians. One fundamental question is whether human mobility computing and privacy can co-exist under the same roof, given different cultural, religious, legal, technological and socio-economic backgrounds of societies. This panel will explore how the academia and industry are tackling human mobility computing and privacy challenges at a global scale. Rapid urbanization in Ghana over the past three decades has coincided with rapid GDP growth. This has helped to create jobs, increase human capital, decrease poverty, and expand opportunities and improve living conditions for millions of Ghanaians. Ghana’s urban transformation has been momentous, but it is not unique: a similar process has characterized other countries at similar levels of development. Ghana’s key challenge now is to ensure that urbanization continues to complement growth through improvements in productivity and inclusion, rather than detracting from these goals. Many rising problems are related to efficiency and inclusion: these include slums, lack of basic services, underdeveloped manufacturing, and insufficient transport infrastructure.

Projektna naloga obravnava osebno vozilo kot primarno prevozno sredstvo v cestnem prometu v urbanem okolju ter njegov vpliv na okolje in na ljudi. Predstavljen je razvoj motorizacije, način uporabe vozila, osebno vozilo kot glavni onesnaževalec v cestnem prometu, vpliv okolice in ljudi na razvoj osebnega vozila. Na koncu so podane alternative k uporabi osebnega vozila v urbanem okolju. This project work treats the vehicle as the primary means of transport in the urban environment and their influence on the environment and the people. In the project work, the development of the motorization, the way of using the vehicle, the vehicle as the main pollutant in the traffic and the influence of the environment and the human beings on the development of the vehicle, are introduced. The alternatives on the use of the vehicle in the urban environment are given at the end.

This report provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities in addressing road safety in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region. It presents information on the size, characteristics, and causes of the problem; presents evidence on the effectiveness of measures that countries world-wide have adopted to improve road safety; briefly describes current international road safety policy; and discusses a range of strategies and actions that could be undertaken by the World Bank in coordination and partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), multilateral development banks, other international agencies and donors, as well as with private and civil society institutions. A primary audience of this report is internal-particularly managers and staff of the World Bank working in the transport, health, education, and governance sectors, to raise awareness about the multisectoral nature of the road safety challenge and of effective options to address it. It proposes ways that the World Bank might engage more to support ECA countries in tackling this issue, working in partnership with other international agencies and donors. The secondary audience is external policymakers, senior analysts, program managers, and their advisers in the governments of ECA countries, private sector officials, and civil society and international organizations working in this field. The goal is to support discussion on appropriate choices and instruments for advancing the road safety agenda as a top development priority over the short and medium term.
