In this paper, we first generalize to any hyper-Kahler manifold X with $$b_3(X)\not =0$$ results proved by O’Grady for hyper-Kahler manifolds of generalized Kummer type. In the second part, we restrict to hyper-Kahler manifolds of generalized Kummer type and prove, using results of Markman, that their Kuga–Satake correspondence is algebraic.

The paper alluded to in the title contains the following striking result: Let $I$ be the unit interval and $\Delta$ the Cantor set. If $X$ is a quasi Banach space containing no copy of $c_0$ which is isomorphic to a closed subspace of a space with a basis and $C(I, X)$ is linearly homeomorphic to $C(\Delta, X)$, then $X$ is locally convex, i.e., a Banach space. It is shown that Kalton result is sharp by exhibiting non locally convex quasi Banach spaces X with a basis for which $C(I, X)$ and $C(\Delta, X)$ are isomorphic. Our examples are rather specific and actually in all cases X is isomorphic to $C(\Delta, X)$ if $K$ is a metric compactum of finite covering dimension., Comment: 4 pages

The purpose of this short note is to present a correction of the proof of the main result given in the paper “Equivalence of the existence of best proximity points and best proximity pairs for cyclic and noncyclic nonexpansive mappings,” Demonstr. Math. 53 (2020), 38–43.

This paper is a corrigendum to the article ``On the ideal theorem for number fields''. The main result of this paper proves to be untrue and is replaced by an estimate of a weighted sum with an improved error term.

In 1903, Epstein published his proof of meromorphic continuation and a functional equation for Dirichlet series associated with quadratic forms, now called Epstein zeta-functions. However, already in 1889 (or even earlier) Hurwitz was aware of these results as his mathematical diaries and some unpublished notes (in an almost final form) found in his estate at the ETH Zurich show. In this article we present and analyze Hurwitz's notes and compare his reasoning with Epstein's paper in detail.

Let [Formula: see text] be a projective variety of dimension [Formula: see text] over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic. We prove a Fujiki–Lieberman type theorem on the structure of the automorphism group of [Formula: see text]. Let [Formula: see text] be a group of zero entropy automorphisms of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] the set of elements in [Formula: see text] which are isotopic to the identity. We show that after replacing [Formula: see text] by a suitable finite-index subgroup, [Formula: see text] is a unipotent group of the derived length at most [Formula: see text]. This result was first proved by Dinh et al. for compact Kähler manifolds.

The aim of this paper is to study a new equivalent form of the weak maximum principle for a large class of differential operators on Riemannian manifolds. This new form has been inspired by the work of Berestycki, Hamel and Rossi for trace operators, and allows us to shed new light on it and to introduce a new sufficient bounded Khas’minskii type condition for its validity. We show its effectiveness by applying it to obtain some uniqueness results in a geometric setting.

We complete a gap in the proof that exceptional polynomials are complete orthogonal systems in the associated Hilbert spaces.

To prove Theorem 2, we use the following two facts about the class F: 1. F is a differential ring [2]. This means that F is closed under addition, multiplication and differentiation. 2. All functions y ∈ F are entire functions of completely regular growth in the sense of Levin–Pfluger [4], with piecewise-trigonometric indicators, the notions which we recall now. In the paper (HA14), unfortunately, a computational error occurred in one estimate. Although the wrong estimate does not affect the main results, we want to present the necessary corrections. Essentially, Lemma 5.2 has to be corrected and, since it is used in the proof of Theorem 5.1, the proof of this theorem also requires an adaptation. (i) The corrected formulation of Lemma 5.2 is as follows. In his paper "On a construction of semigroups", M. Kolibiar gives a construction for a semigroup $T$ (beginning from a semigroup $S$) which is said to be derived from the semigroup $S$ by a $\theta$-construction. He asserted that every semigroup $T$ can be derived from the factor semigroup $T/\theta (T)$ by a $\theta$-construction, where $\theta (T)$ is the congruence on $T$ defined by: $(a, b)\in \theta (T)$ if and only if $xa=xb$ for all $x\in T$. Unfortunately, the paper contains some incorrect part. In our present paper we give a revision of the paper., Comment: Version v5 differs from the published and the earlier versions in the following: some part of the proof of Theorem 2 are clarified, and some typing errors are corrected

In this note we re-examine the analysis of the paper "On the martingale property of stochastic exponentials" by B. Wong and C.C. Heyde, Journal of Applied Probability, 41(3):654-664, 2004. On a recent paper Benchohra and Mostefai [2] presented some existence results for an integral equation of fractional order with multiple time delay in Banach spaces. In contrast to the classical case, when assumptions are expressed in terms of the strong topology, they considered another case, namely with the weak topology. It has some consequences for the proof. We present here some comments and corrections.

In this note, we slightly generalize Theorem 2 in the paper by M. Tunç and point out that the assumption of Theorem 3 is not sufficient. A misuse of the term 'mean' is also discussed.

Complementing the work of T.-S. Liu and A.C.M. van Rooij we show that the existence of non-zero translation invariant operators between certain function spaces on a locally compact group implies its amenability.

We study spectral multipliers for a distinguished Laplacian on certain groups of exponential growth. We obtain a stronger optimal version of the results proved in (CGHM) and (A).

In their 1993 paper, W. Goh and J. Wimp derive interesting asymptotics for the moments cn(?) ? cn = ?10tnd?(t), n = 0, 1, 2, ..., of some singular distributions ? (with support ? 0, 1]), which contain oscillatory terms. They suspect, that this is a general feature of singular distributions and that this behavior provides a striking contrast with what happens for absolutely continuous distributions. In the present note, however, we give an example of an absolutely continuous measure with asymptotics of moments containing oscillatory terms, and an example of a singular measure having very regular asymptotic behavior of its moments. Finally, we give a short proof of the fact that the drop-off rate of the moments is exactly the local measure dimension about 1 (if it exists).

Let π: X′ → X be a finite surjective morphism of complex projective manifolds which can be factored by an embedding of X′ into the total space of an ample line bundle 𝓛 over X. A theorem of Lazarsfeld asserts that Betti numbers of X and X′ are equal except, possibly, the middle ones. In the present paper it is proved that the middle numbers are actually non-equal if either 𝓛 is spanned and deg π ≥ dim X, or if X is either a hyperquadric or a projective space and π is not a double cover of an odd-dimensional projective space by a hyperquadric.

We correct two clerical errors made in the paper ”A Lower Bound for the Length of Closed Geodesics on a Finsler Manifold”.

This paper considers the existence of global weak solutions for the Navier-Stokes equations in the infinite cylinder R n × R + {{\mathbf {R}}^n} \times {{\mathbf {R}}_ + } with initial data in L r {L^r} , n ≥ 3 n \geq 3 , 1 > r > ∞ 1 > r > \infty . An imbedding theorem as well as related initial value problems are also studied, thus completing results in [2].

In the previous paper [T] we gave a classification of hermitian forms over the real function fieldk=R(t) and its completionsk v with respect to valuationsv trivial onR. Unfortunately in the local case the arguments given for cases A and D, in general, were not correct. Therefore the resulting local and local-global classifications obtained were incorrect. I would like also to thank Dr. D. Hoffmann for pointing out these mistakes and the referee for useful comments. Here we would like to make necessary corrections to [T]. We keep the same notation used there, except that in the first paragraph,J is not the standard involution of a quaternion division algebraD (with basis {1,i,j,ij}). Let E be a real Banach space. A norm-one element e in E is said to be an isometric reflection vector if there exist a maximal subspace M of E and a linear isometry F : E → E fixing the elements of M and satisfying F (e) = −e. We prove that each of the conditions (i) and (ii) below implies that E is a Hilbert space. (i) There exists a nonrare subset of the unit sphere of E consisting only of isometric reflection vectors, (ii) There is an isometric reflection vector in E, the norm of E is convex transitive, and the identity component of the group of all surjective linear isometries on E relative to the strong operator topology is not reduced to the identity operator on E.

We show functoriality of γα in our joint paper with A. Csaszar “Further remarks on δ- and θ-modifications”.

In the paper [1], the authors obtain a KAM theorem for nearly integrable hamiltonian systems under the Russmann’s non-degeneracy condition, which is known to be sharpest one for small divisor conditions. However, the Remark 1.3 is wrong because we have ignored the null set − ∗, which may contain zeros of ω of high order such that (1.4) does not hold for all p ∈ . The Remark 1.3 might mislead the readers that the condition (1.5) of Theorem B is equivalent to the Russmann’s non-degeneracy condition. Actually, the Russmann’s non-degeneracy condition is equivalent to the condition (1.4) of Theorem A as proved in [1]. Under the Russmann’s non-degeneracy condition (1.4), as proved in the Remark 3.1 the condition (1.5) holds if we replace n − 1 by a sufficiently large number N depending on h, and then the conclusion of Theorem B remains valid if in the measure estimate n − 1 is replaced by N .

Here we give a result on the postulation (i.e. the 2-normality) of nonlinearly normal embeddings of Abelian varieties. This result improves some of the results proved in a recent paper by Ch. Birkenhake.
