The main purpose of this study is to investigate the information seeking behaviour of postgraduate students who are studying in different agricultural science disciplines at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar, India. In the study, it was also try to determine what the information requirements of the targeted respondents are, and to determine their awareness of library services available to them currently. For data collection, survey method was adopted with the aid of structured questionnaire. The data were collected over a period of 20 days between January and February 2021. Total 200 postgraduate students, who were studying in different agricultural sciences departments were approached randomly and shared questionnaires to them in the library premises. Out of total 200, 177 valid questionnaires were collected and considered for final analysis, which representing the response rate @88.5 percent. The study found that library & its resources (44.64 percent), and Internet & social media are the two main sources of information seeking for the respondents. More than 70 percent respondents were preferred to search their required information from electronic information resources due to easy to search and use, whereas, around 39 percent of the respondents seeking information for preparing examination and 23.72 percent respondents seeking information for preparing class assignments. About 70 percent of the respondents were quite satisfied with the staff of the library, whereas, 14.12 percent respondents were rated staff behaviour and support as excellent. 50.84 percent respondents were opined that the services and facilities provided by the university library has very effective and plays a very important role in their academic and research work. The outcome of this research would help the similar type of other institutions of the country as well as of other countries to understand the changing needs and behaviour of students and researchers and to develop information resources and services in their premises. The environment in which human being, particularly, students operate makes information to be one of the decisive factors for survival. Students seek information to fill an identified gap in their quest for knowledge. This study, therefore, investigated information needs and seeking behaviour of students of the Nigerian Army School of Education, Ilorin, Nigeria. Five (5) research objectives were formulated for this study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. Population for the study comprised of students at the Nigerian Army School of Education, Ilorin. Israel (2003) model for determining sample size was used to calculate the sample size with precision levels of 5% and confidence level of 95% and the recommended sample size was two hundred and twelve (212). A simple random sampling technique was used to select the samples from the population. The self-designed questionnaire was divided into six (6) sections. The content-related approach of validation was conducted to ensure the validity of the instrument while Cronbach alpha was used to test the reliability of the instrument and the overall reliability of the instrument was r = 0.832. The collated copies of the questionnaire were analyzed with the IBM SPSS version 21.0 using simple frequency counts and percentage. The presentations of the data for the research objectives were done using tables, pie charts and bar charts. The findings of the study showed that academic information is the major information need of the students of the Nigerian Army School of Education, Ilorin, Nigeria. The findings further revealed that the Internet and library are the most commonly used sources of information. The findings also showed that the major purpose at which the students seek information is to update their knowledge and to enhance their professional activities. However, the findings generally indicated that most students firstly acknowledge their information needs and compare available resources before making the final decision and if they seem not comfortable with the information they need in a particular information material, they will continue searching for information until they are satisfied. Among numerous challenges affecting information seeking behaviour of students, this study found insufficient library opening hours as the major challenge confronting the students of the Nigerian Army School of Education. The study, therefore, recommended that library working hours should be extended to meet the need of the students and that the library management should ensure that adequate collection of books is made available. Objectives: College libraries are prominent information organizations and play a crucial role fulfilling the information needs of its users, so the use of technological information emanating from these libraries contribute not only to business development but also to the technical manpower development in the collegiate education field. The objective of the study is to find out the facilities available in the college libraries for the library users for seeking information Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify a comparative trend of information use pattern and to evaluate the existing information environment of the college libraries of Guwahati Metro and to find out the ways and means of better information related situation Methodology: A survey has been conducted through a simple random sampling method for the collection of data. Structured questionnaires have been designed for the purpose. The study has been proposed to utilize an appropriate statistical technique to make the work statically significant for the effective and efficient use of management libraries as a whole. Findings: OPAC is the most useful IT-based library sources and facilities, Google search engine is a high source of seeking information. Preparing assignment, notes and preparation of the competitive exam is the main purpose of seeking information. Purpose: India is one of the countries which has maximum number of livestock with rules the rural economy, which are eventually dealt by veterinarians to overcome different crisis. Veterinarians are entrusted with combating various disastrous situations whichever come in the way of this natural resource. This article deals with information needs and seeking behaviour of veterinary users who are aspiring to be future experts in the field and faculty personnel of two Veterinary Council of India accredited colleges situated in North East India, namely College of Veterinary Science, Assam and College of Veterinary Science, Mizoram. Methodology: The authors visited the above mentioned colleges to elicit data from respondents. A questionnaire was propounded for the purpose. Later the data were analysed, tabulated and hypothesis were drawn and checked. Scope and Coverage: The article encompasses veterinary college students; faculty personnel of two Veterinary Councils of India (VCI) accredited veterinary colleges of Assam and Mizoram. Findings: Sixty percent female respondents had graduation degree followed by 58.06% male respondents having the same. Overwhelming majority of both the male and female respondents claimed that they visited library for books while, 71.43% female respondents visited library for borrowing books. Chi square test proved that there is a significant relationship between the gender of the respondents and the purpose to visit the library. Originality: This article is entirely original in nature. The present study has been undertaken to assess the online information seeking behaviour of the faculty members of Arts and Science colleges in Madurai district. A sample of 50 faculties was selected by random sampling method. The well structured questionnaire was distributed among the faculty members to collect data on the availability of online information services, the major information services used, the purpose of online information seeking and the level of satisfaction. The findings of the study reveal that: Most of the respondents (56%) are male faculty members. Majority of the respondents (32%) visit the library once a week. The majority of the respondents (37%) access information at the college library. Majority of the respondents (43%) need/use online information for their career development. (42%) of the respondents are satisfied with the online sources available in the library. Most of the respondents (33%) use Wikipedia. Majority of the respondents (63%) use search engines to look for information. Majority of the respondents (30%) complained about Lack of time as their major problem in accessing online resources. Discovery systems are now increasingly the dominant technology through which clients discover and access the information resources held by academic and research libraries. However, as yet, little work has been done to explore the use and impact of discovery systems on user behaviour. This article examines transactional logs from the Ex Libris Primo installation of Curtin University Library sampled between 2013 and 2015, together with the results of a user survey conducted in 2014, to investigate actual patterns of use and perceptions of value in the available discovery system functionality. The evidence collected supports the original contention of discovery system designers that the single-search box approach adopted by Google and other internet search engines is an appropriate form for library catalogue design. On the other hand, discovery system users clearly value functionality corresponding to traditional library tasks over attempts to locate the catalogue in the conceptual framework of social media.
