The author reflects on investing in the bond market in the U.S. in 2008. He believes that bonds are the best investment despite U.S. Treasuries being the most popular as Treasuries have yields of only 1.4% on 5-year notes. The point spread between corporate bonds and Treasuries is noted, and it is explained that bonds from government agencies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac yield over 7%. INSET: MY BEST BARGAIN.
