Introduction: The academic social network site ResearchGate (www.researchgate.net) enables researchers to feature up to five of their research products (including papers, datasets and chapters) in a 'Featured research' section on their ResearchGate home page. This provides an opportunity to discover how researchers view their own publications. Method: We investigated ResearchGate members who self-selected their featured publications and compared these publications with other publications listed in ResearchGate. Analysis: We analysed the distribution of featured publications in the ResearchGate members' whole publications in terms of their importance, recency, citation and source reputation. Results: Researchers prefer to feature publications in which they played important roles, those that were recently published, highly cited and published by reputable sources. Conclusion: By featuring their research, researchers can highlight their academic achievements and create the potential to contribute to the wider scientific community through the future application or discussion of their work. Instances of featured research published for a relatively long period in somewhat obscure journals, with few citations, show that there is a difference between how these papers are valued by the scientific community and the authors who featured them. The presented method may be applied to find latent sleeping beauties.

The main objective of this study is to evaluate Citizenship Education (CE) literature through systematic bibliometric analysis. The science mapping method was conducted to analyze data. Because CE is also studied with the names of social studies and civic education in the literature, articles related to these topics were included in the study. 4029 articles and proceeding papers that were obtained from the WoS database were analyzed. As a result of the study, it was revealed that number of publications has been dramatically increased in recent years. Moreover, Theory and Research in Social Education Journal was found as the most relevant source in terms of number of publications about CE. Furthermore, the study conducted by Westheimer and Kahne in 2004 was determined as the most influential source that has the most citations per year in the field. Finally, it was found that USA and UK are the most productive, most cited, and most collaborative countries in terms of scientific publications.

Abstract Background This study aims to identify trends, research gaps, leading journals, institutions, countries, and authors by examining the top 100 cited Yttrium-90 Radioembolization (Y90) research articles. The insights gained will assist funding and collaboration efforts in Y90 research. The team analyzed 981 articles from 36 peer-reviewed journals, gathering data on authors, publication year, journal, citations, affiliations, keywords, and references. Author affiliations were scrutinized to pinpoint institutions and countries. p values 3, n = 31/35) and SCImago Q1 journals (86/100), with Northwestern University, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich being the leading institutions. The most prolific authors were Salem, R., Lewandowski, R.J., and Mulcahy, M.F., with Salem, R. as the most influential. A statistically significant positive correlation between collaborative links and published articles was also discovered. Short conclusion The top 100 cited articles were primarily published in high-impact journals, and Northwestern University and the USA showed greater productivity and collaboration. These findings have crucial implications for researchers, policymakers, and institutions, aiding in the improvement of Y90 application and understanding in clinical practice.

Background: In previous decades, large-scale research has been carried out on bacterial meningitis. In every field, citation analysis is the most significant contribution. The study's objective was to identify and analyze the 100 articles on bacterial meningitis that received the most citations between 2000 and 2023, highlighting the most significant developments in the field. Objective: The objective of this study was to find out what makes a highly influential article by identifying and analyzing the characteristics of the 100 articles in the field of bacterial meningitis that receive the most citations. The goal of this study was to find and examine the 100 articles on bacterial meningitis that received the most citations. Methodology: We identified the top 100 most-cited papers in the field of bacterial meningitis from 55 journals using the Dimensions AI database. The results of each author's analysis of 100 articles were then compared. We gathered fundamental data such as the journal's title, country of publication, and study type. Descriptive counts or percentages were used to compare the various categories. Results: Between the year 2000 and the year 2023, articles were published. The total number of citations ranged from 115 to 1176, with 42 papers receiving more than 200 citations. In 2008, 14 articles were published, followed by 10 in 2000 and 2007. One thousand one hundred and seventy-six times were given to the most-cited paper, whereas 115 times were given to the least-cited article. "Clinical Features and Prognostic Factors in Adults with Bacterial Meningitis," by Diederik van de Beek, et al. (2004) was the article that received the most citations. 1176 people have cited this article. van de Beek Diederik of the Academic Medical Center in The Netherlands is the author who has written the most articles, was mentioned in 14 of the top 100 articles. Papers were primarily published in Pediatrics (n = 9) publication with 1861 citations. The Netherlands came in second with 18 publications, followed by the United States (n = 46). Conclusion: Our study uses bibliometrics and visualization analysis of the most important articles in this field to show the current state of research in the area of bacterial meningitis, provide a history of research trends, and offer a perspective for future bacterial predicts the growth of meningitis. Who are the most prestigious authors cited in today's psychology textbooks and journals? And where are (or where were) they based? This short note reports on the answers gained to such questions by using the Web of Science Core Collection to find the authors of the most highly cited papers in psychology published between 1927 and 2012. The findings suggest that well-known historic figures of the past have now been replaced with tool makers.

This is the last of three studies designed to assess the interchange between the geography education community, the larger geography field, and other disciplines. Our previous studies have examined citation patterns between geography education journals and quantified whether a paradigm shift was occurring from a focus on strategies and methods towards understanding the learning and teaching process. Further, we wanted to know "who are we listening to?" The answer is that while we were listening to ourselves (geography education), our scholars were incorporating knowledge, ideas, and perspectives from the larger geography community and importantly from academicians and professionals trained in pedagogy and education theories. This study asks the question, "who is listening to us?" Our results indicate that education scholars are actually reading our publications. There were distinct lines of communication between those from geography education and the disciplines of education that permeate journals, books, conference proceedings, theses and dissertations, and other outlets (i.e. reports, blogs, wikis).

The STEAM learning environment with a gamification system has been found to promote innovators by enhancing creative thinking and innovation skills in students. It can engage and motivate students, making the course content come alive. The objective of this study is to provide an overview of the research conducted in the field of STEAM education with a focus on gamification, specifically examining studies published within the last six years. A bibliometric analysis and systematic reviews were performed to examine the trends in published literature on steam learning environment on gamification systems to promote innovators between the years 2018 and 2023. The retrieval of pertinent documents was conducted by employing keywords associated with "TITLE-ABS-KEY ("steam" AND "gamification" AND "innovation" AND "skill" AND "innovator" AND "learning environment" AND "ecosystem")" in the title, abstract, and keywords of the documents. Consequently, a total of 5 documents were obtained from the Scopus database for the purpose of conducting bibliometric analysis and systematic review. The review examines the pattern of publication growth, identifies the papers with the highest citation counts, determines the primary sources of these articles, assesses the productivity of writers, analyzes the leading countries contributing to the field, and identifies the prominent subject areas within the research domain. Based on the results of our investigation, it can be concluded that Thailand exhibits the highest level of productivity in terms of publications and citations. Education and Information Technologies is widely recognized as the primary scholarly resource in its field. Through the co-occurrence of keywords analysis, we determined that the most significant keywords associated with steam learning environment on gamification systems to promote innovators are gamification, creative thinking, steam education, design thinking and digital learning ecosystem and so on. The computer science and social science domains have the highest number of published documents.

The review article presents an analysis of the literature on environmental literacy in sustainable development. By utilizing techniques to examine multiple documents published between 2013 and 2023, including citation analysis, co-authorship analysis, subject area analysis, and keyword analysis, this study aims to provide valuable information and insights into the research landscape surrounding environmental literacy and its contribution to promoting sustainable development. A systematic search was conducted to gather several scientific articles, conference papers, and publications from the Scopus database from 2013 to 2023. The findings of this analysis shed light on authors, influential institutions, and active research groups that contributed to the study of environmental literacy and sustainable development. This comprehensive review offers an understanding of the state of research in this field while identifying areas for further exploration and research gaps. The insights gained from this study can be highly beneficial for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to advance knowledge and take action toward promoting literacy's role in sustainable development. This analysis is a foundation for advancing our understanding of literacy's significance while emphasizing its vital role in sustainable development efforts.

Higher education informatization (HEI) is an interdisciplinary field that examines the use and integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in higher education. This paper provides a bibliometric and visual analysis of the research trends, patterns, and topics in this field. Using the Web of Science database, the authors selected and analyzed 199 SCI and SSCI papers on HEI published from 2000 to 2023 by VOSviewer and CiteSpace software. The results indicate that the publication volume of HEI research has grown significantly in recent years. The author network shows the collaboration and contribution of different researchers and institutions, while the journal network reveals the multidisciplinary nature and scope of the field. The keyword network and the burst keyword analysis identify the main research themes and the emerging hot topics in HEI. The co-citation network of sources illustrates the theoretical and methodological foundations and influences of the field. The paper concludes with some implications and suggestions for future HEI research.

The study compared the bibliometric parameters of scholarly communications published in COLLNET Journal of Scientometrics & Information Management (CJSIM) and Journal of Scientometric Research (JSR) from 2012 to 2021. Different bibliometric parameters examined in the study are pattern of output during 2012 to 2021, identification of most prolific countries and their citation impact in terms of Citation Per Paper (CPP), i-10 index and Papers not Cited (PnC). Study also identified prolific institutions and authors and their citation impact besides examining pattern of citation. The study also examined the pattern of domestic and international collaboration. Findings of the study indicate that the pattern of output is inconsistent in both the journals. The output is scattered among 39 countries in CJSIM and 50 countries in JSR. India followed by Iran contributed the highest number of papers in both the journals. Most of the prolific institutions and authors were from India in both the journals. More number of papers remained uncited in CJSIM as compared to JSR. More number of papers were published in domestic collaboration in JSR as compared to CJSIM. However, papers published in international collaboration in both the journals was almost equal. Among all the countries, China published the highest number of papers in international collaboration in CJSIM, but no such trend was observed in JSR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Analyzing a conference, especially one as young and focused as LAK, provides the opportunity to observe the structure and contributions of the scientific community around it. This work will perform a Scientometric analysis, coupled with a more in-depth manual content analysis, to extract this insight from the proceedings and program of LAK 2013. Authorship analysis reveals an open and international community, while internal citation analysis provides evidence of the construction of a body of knowledge central to Learning Analytics. The analysis of the content of the papers found five main topics: visualization, behaviour analysis, social learning analytics, learning analytics for MOOCs, and learning analytics issues (ethical, scalability, etc.), as well as papers reflecting on the field itself. We discuss representative papers presented at the conference, highlighting trends and new developments. Learning analytics is a diverse multidisciplinary field with an emerging interdisciplinary core, well situated to benefit from productive dialogue concerning its scope and purpose and to reflect on the pedagogies and epistemologies implied by its methods.

In this study, international research papers by Turkish scholars on social studies education were investigated. The sample was selected among published journals of education indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database, such as Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded). The obtained data were analyzed via the bibliometric analysis method using version 1.6.17 of VOSviewer software. The results revealed that the first publication in the relevant indexes was released in 2005, and after 2007 the number of publications showed an increasing trend. In addition, it was found that "Educational Sciences-Theory & Practice" and "Education and Science" were among the international journals that most frequently published papers on social studies education, while Kaya Yilmaz, Arife Figen Ersoy, and Handan Deveci were the most cited authors. Results also revealed that Anadolu University, Marmara University, and Gazi University were identified as the institutions that published most papers while they were also cited most. Finally, the most frequently used common keywords were determined as "social studies", "social studies education", "pre-service social studies teachers"; "academic achievement", "citizenship education" and "values education".

This study's main objective is to present bibliometric data on articles related to digital educational environments (DEEs) published in the journals indexed in Scopus database between 2003 and February 2023. The data collected from 61 articles published within the study's scope were subjected to bibliometric analysis based on six categories: number of articles and citations, most cited articles, most used keywords, most influential countries, most-important institutions, and the most important journals. This study was designed as a descriptive study and offers bibliometric network maps of the most popular papers, keywords and countries, institutions, and journals. VOS viewer was used to create network diagrams and bibliometric analyses. The bibliometric analysis showed that the most frequently used keywords were digital learning environment(s), digital educational environment. The most prolific authors related to DEE are Antón-Sancho, Vergara, Barana, and Marchisio. The results showed that DEE studies were started in 2003 and the most articles were published in 2021. This study presents a global perspective on DEEs and proposes vision for future research.

The purpose of this study is to examine the publications conducted in education related to virtual worlds with the bibliometric analysis method. This study employed the appropriate keywords determined via digging the Web of Science database. A total of 2,978 publications meeting the criteria of the current study were examined. VOSviewer software was used for the analysis. We utilized co-authorship analysis to see the descriptive characteristics of the examined publications. The most conducted type was proceedings and the number of publications fluctuated over time with a peak in 2012. England, USA, and Spain had the most publications among the countries, and Open University, Coventry University, and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest had the most publications among the organizations. The majority of the studies were published in the journal of Computers & Education, British Journal of Educational Technology, and Interactive Learning Environments. For revealing the most common keywords, we used the co-occurrence analysis. "e-learning", "second life" and "higher education" were the most occurred keywords in the publications. The citations analysis was used to see which authors and publications were mostly cited in the examined papers. The most cited authors were Dede, C., Lan, Y. and Ketelhut, D. J. According to the analysis of the cited references, Dalgarno and Lee, (2010), Merchant, Goetz, Cifuentes, Keeney-Kennicutt, and Davis, (2014) and Dunleavy et al. (2008) were the most cited studies. Technological developments have affected the interest in the use of VWs in education. As a new type or extension of virtual worlds, metaverse promises new opportunities in education. The findings of this study would present a road map for those future research to see the general picture of the relevant area.

This study aimed to reveal the trend of research on e-assessment in the field of educational sciences through scientific mapping and bibliometric analyses. For this purpose, the numerical distribution of research on e-assessment, citation analysis, research themes and the change of trend topics were examined. The publications to be examined were selected from WoS database according to PRISMA model, and 911 studies were included in the analysis. VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, Smart Bibliometrics and Leximancer software were used in data analysis. Apparently, there has been a significant increase in the number of research since 2005, and publications have been mostly produced in form of articles and papers. The most cited and the most productive countries are the USA, the United Kingdom and Australia, while the most cited journals are Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education and British Journal of Educational Technology. An analysis of the keyword map revealed that the themes of technology and motivation, blended learning and collaboration, interaction and innovative approaches, validity and reliability, higher education, quality, basic disciplines and COVID-19 were frequently emphasized in the studies on e-assessment. An analysis of trend topics by years showed that, between 2010 and 2021, the trend topic distribution changed to include topics such as COVID-19, academic integrity, engagement, cheating, case study, and higher education. All these findings reveal that e-evaluation activities have displayed a development and transformation over time with the effect of developing technology, the pandemic, the spread of e-learning, the expansion of communication opportunities and many other factors.

The purpose of this paper is to retrieve and study the highly cited papers as well as the correlation between the citation frequency and the download frequency of the 20 traditional Chinese medicine journals in China, in order to provide the guidance for improving the influence and academic quality of these journals. Bibliometric analyses were conducted on 1103 papers of 20 traditional Chinese medicine journals from 2011 to 2020 by retrieving for the China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database (CAJD) in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between the citation frequency and the download frequency via conducting regression fitting and establishing the mathematical models. The results showed that the total citations of the 1103 papers were 93051 times and the average citations were 84.36 times per paper. The total downloads of the 1103 papers were 2058442 times, and the average downloads were 1866.22 times per paper. China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica ranked first according to the number of papers, total citations and total downloads. The citations of Journal of Chinese Medicinal Materials ranked first based on the number of citations per paper. One of Li's paper had been cited the most (983 times). There were 629 (57.03%) papers whose first author was from universities. The scopes of the first authors were distributed in 29 regions and 2 special administrative regions (Macao, Hong Kong) in China. The authors from Beijing published 283 (25.66%) papers, ranking number one. The number of papers supported by funds was 882 (79.96%). The research results of correlation showed that the citation frequency and the download frequency of the highly cited papers had a highly positive correlation from both journal and paper level for whether the sample data of journals was normally distributed or nonnormally distributed. The correlation coefficients of the 20 journals at journal level and that at paper level were 0.9765 and 0.6677, respectively. The correlation was better at journal level than that at paper level, while the optimal regression fitting was all cubic polynomial. Among the 1103 papers, there were 684 (62.01%) research papers and 419 (37.99%) review papers. The main citation period of the top 15 papers was from the 2nd year to the 6th year after publication, accounting for 78.39%. Papers on clinical therapeutics research, papers on the pharmacological effects and its mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine, and papers on traditional Chinese medicine and natural medicine were the main source of the highly cited papers of the traditional Chinese medicine journals. Editors of the journals should focus on the above-mentioned research areas to select manuscripts for exploiting the excellent sources extensively, while paying attention to review papers, focusing on national major or key projects, paying attention to network spreading, stabilizing authors with quality services, in order to improve the influence and the academic quality of journals. In some places of the world, disasters occur virtually every day. If disasters are not properly foreseen, they may result in many fatalities. This research aims to examine the growth and pattern of literature on natural disaster education in schools. This analytical strategy combines quantitative and statistical methods to discover trends, assess quality, and track development. A total of 216 documents were chosen from the 403 documents collected. Following 2015, there was a considerable increase in four-year publications. Authors from the United States contributed to 45 papers with 37% citations and ranked first, followed by authors from Japan (31 documents; 15% citations) and Indonesia (31 documents) with rankings citations below the top 10. Most publications were published in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (12 docs; Q1 Scimago Journal Rank 1.1 (SJR 1.1)). The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines had the most citations (100; Q1 SJR 3.6) and was ranked first in its discipline. The existing core literature on school education on natural disasters demonstrates that this topic is developing rapidly, but with insufficient international research collaboration. Research cooperation in this area must be strengthened to better the global response to natural disaster mitigation, which should begin in schools worldwide. There is a need to widen the scope of study in this field to include natural disaster preparedness education in the school curriculum, assessments, learning media, disaster response education, and instructional designs. Finally, disaster education in schools must be addressed as soon as possible to contribute to disaster preparedness.

The items that are suitable for everyone's own ability level with the support of computer programs instead of paper and pencil tests may help students to reach more accurate results. Computer adaptive tests (CAT), which are developed based on certain assumptions in this direction, are to create an optimum test for every person taking the exam. It then becomes essential to examine the development process of such important exams and to monitor what studies have contributed to this development in what year. CiteSpace is a program developed to map information fields, explain the relationship between different disciplines, examine and estimate the studies in a certain period of time, uncover the latest studies and predict the trend issues that occur according to the analysis of bibliographic records of related publications. In this study, it is aimed to find out what articles about CAT are produced in which areas, at what time periods and which articles have a significant effect in these periods. CiteSpace program was used to make a document/article co-citation analysis. Articles on CAT between 1946-2016 were scanned by "or" connector. A total of 637 articles were used, the analyses were finalized according to the networks. As a result of the research, clusters were determined based on the relationship in the citations, articles that were the most cited and important among studies on CAT were presented.

h-index takes no care of co-authorship; neither the number of co-authors nor their contributions. Many indices were proposed to take the effect of multiple co-authorship papers. The current Mo-index is based on the idea of distributing the citations of a paper between authors as a weighted value of the h-index of each author. The main advantage of the Mo-index is the distribution of the large number of citations between authors instead of being equally distributed and ignoring the rest of them by the calculation of the h-index. Background: The number of citations a paper receives reflects its impact on the scientific community. We aimed to identify and explore the characteristics of the most cited papers on total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC). Methods: Web of Science Core Collection Expanded Science Citation Index (1900 to present) was searched and papers on TAPVC were reviewed. Articles were ranked by the number of citations and the 100 most cited papers were analyzed. Results: The 100 most cited papers were published between 1952 and 2018 with a mean number of citations of 52 (range 26 to 148). The 1990s was the most productive decade. All articles except one were written in English. The 100 most cited articles were published in 24 journals, led by Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (21 articles), followed by Annals of Thoracic Surgery (20 articles), and Circulation (16 articles). The United States of America contributed most of the 100 most cited papers (60 articles). Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto led the list of citation classics with six papers. Christopher A. Caldarone, John W. Kirklin, and P. E. F. Daubeney were the most productive authors with 3 articles each. More than half of the papers were cohort studies (51 articles). Surgery, radiology and etiology were the main topics. Thirty-one articles were funded by public foundations, and none received support from commercial companies. Purpose: To examine a series of papers from top ranked orthopaedic journals with respect to the number of citations over a 10-year observation period to identify factors that lead to high citation rates. Methods: The Web of Science database was consulted to identify all published papers from the first-year term of 2010 (January-May) from four top orthopaedic journals: AJSM, Arthroscopy, JBJS Am and KSSTA. The database was used to analyze and compare the papers with respect to their characteristics and citations up to 2019. Basic information for each paper was collected including the author, country, study type and average citations per year (ACY). The most (Top20%) and least (Bottom20%) frequently cited papers were identified and differences were extracted. Results: Five hundred sixteen papers were included with a total of 19,261 citations. Most of the published papers were from the United States (n = 245). On average, a paper received 37.3 citations over the 10-year observation period. The most cited paper was cited 322 times. The most cited study type was randomized controlled trial (RCT) (Ø80.8). The Top20% papers were cited 37 times more often than the Bottom20%. Among the Top20%, the largest group was cohort study (n = 20) followed by case series (n = 19). Among others, the number of authors, the number of keywords and the number of references significantly correlated with the number of citations (p < 0.001). Purpose: The orthopaedic surgeons, especially the young budding surgeons should have a well-balanced knowledge of the past evidence as well the current evidence in the literature for the appropriate as well as optimum management of tibial plateau fractures. Bibliometric analysis of the top-cited papers on tibial plateau fracture management can help know their concurrent interests, deficiencies and conflicting issues regarding their management. This study aimed to identify the 50 most cited research articles in tibial plateau research and analyse their characteristics. Methods: We searched the Thompson Reuters Web of Science database for articles relevant to tibial plateau fracture and prepared a list of top 50 cited articles that included original articles and review articles concerning tibial plateau fractures. The included articles were analysed for contributing journals, corresponding author's country, publication year, cumulative citations, annual citations, citation trends over time, level of evidence and a qualitative review. Results: The search strategy resulted in 2263 articles. The top 50 cited articles were published from 1974 to 2014 and belonged to 12 journal sources. There were 47 original articles and 3 review articles. The average citations per article were 126.2, and the annual citations per article were 6.478 per year. The top-cited articles were relevant to the strategies in the management, classification, fracture reduction, articular restoration, types and number of fixation devices, surgical approaches, associated menisco-ligamentous injuries and applicability of bone grafts/substitutes in tibial plateau fractures. Conclusion: The current bibliometric analysis summarises the top-cited evidence concerning tibial plateau fractures and can be a potential resource for reviewing and locating the same. The analysis shows that most top-cited evidence belongs to the year 2000 onwards. Also, recent articles have a higher annual citation rate. A limited number of journals and mostly, western countries have contributed to the top-cited evidence. Whilst the top-cited evidence has touched several aspects of tibial plateau fractures, it is in the form of level IV case series. The impact of a scientific publication is often measured by the number of citations it receives from the scientific community. However, citation count is susceptible to well-documented variations in citation practices across time and discipline, limiting our ability to compare different scientific achievements. Previous efforts to account for citation variations often rely on a priori discipline labels of papers, assuming that all papers in a discipline are identical in their subject matter. Here, we propose a network-based methodology to quantify the impact of an article by comparing it with locally comparable research, thereby eliminating the discipline label requirement. We show that the developed measure is not susceptible to discipline bias and follows a universal distribution for all articles published in different years, offering an unbiased indicator for impact across time and discipline. We then use the indicator to identify science-wide high impact research in the past half century and quantify its temporal production dynamics across disciplines, helping us identifying breakthroughs from diverse, smaller disciplines, such as geosciences, radiology, and optics, as opposed to citation-rich biomedical sciences. The global acceleration of studies on the Flipped Classroom Model (FCM) has revealed the necessity of literature review analyzes that shed light on research activities by examining the research data as a whole. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to examine academic publications on the FCM studies applied in biology teaching in terms of bibliographic variables. For this aim, the bibliometric analysis method was preferred in the study, which was carried out with a case study approach for an in-depth examination. Within the scope of the study, 53 publications obtained from the Scopus database for the entire time period were examined. In order to analyze these publications as a whole, the Scopus database and the VOSviewer program was used. According to the results, it is determined that the most preferred keywords are flipped classroom, active learning, online learning, flipped learning and biology, the most commonly used terms in the title and abstract section are students, courses, classroom, study and flipped classroom, the most common types of publications are article and papers, the most active country in terms of the number of studies is the USA, and the publication language is generally English. This study will help researchers and educators identify trends and issues that can guide future work involving the FCM.

Background: Undergraduate research journals are a popular mechanism for inducting students into research, communication, and publication facets of academia. A thematic review of 17 review papers found little evidence for journal impact. Methods: A scoping review identified 91 journals. A systematic search identified the journal website, its International Standard Serial Number (if any), its citation rate on Google Scholar, its start year and end year (if applicable). Results: Seventy-five journals had both a Google Scholar h-index and a discoverable start year. Sixty-eight had been cited one or more times. The median h-index was 2, mode was h = 1, and the average h-index = 4.38. Correlation with start year was not statistically significant, neither was content field of journals. Conclusions: Surprisingly, almost all currently published journals have been cited at least once, showing that undergraduate research journals have some impact on the scholarly world. Further analyses are suggested to examine career impact of publication on students and faculty.

This paper analyzes summative content and citation patterns in the "Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council" (ISSN 1559-0151), a peer-reviewed, scholarly publication related to honors education, during its first 20 volumes of existence from 2000 to 2019. The bibliometric study consists of two parts: an analysis of articles and an analysis of citations. Quantitative and qualitative measures are used to examine article types, authorship patterns, cited references, and coverage of core subjects. Results indicate 522 articles with an annual output average of 26.1. Annual input averages 37.4 authors, featuring 492 unique authors who represent 248 unique institutions and agencies. Collectively, data show an increased emphasis on evidenced-based practice, program assessment, and theoretical research, signifying steady decadal development in this area. Predictive factors associated with the growth and general health of scholarly publication also demonstrate marked improvements: an editorial board that has nearly doubled in size, sustained interdisciplinarity (54 fields of study), high degree of collaboration (31%), significant (72%) jump in pagination, and low rate of self-citation (10%). This research involves statistical analyses of written publication and thus aims, in part, to identify and examine trends in honors-related discourse on higher education. Merits, weaknesses, and a complete statistical profile of the journal are provided.

One of the most widely used measures of scientific impact is the number of citations. However, due to its heavy-tailed distribution, citations are fundamentally difficult to predict but can be improved. This study was aimed at investigating the factors and parts influencing the citation number of a scientific paper in the otology field. Therefore, this work proposes a new solution that utilizes machine learning and natural language processing to process English text and provides a paper citation as the predicted results. Different algorithms are implemented in this solution, such as linear regression, boosted decision tree, decision forest, and neural networks. The application of neural network regression revealed that papers' abstracts have more influence on the citation numbers of otological articles. This new solution has been developed in visual programming using Microsoft Azure machine learning at the back end and Programming Without Coding Technology at the front end. This study aims to highlight the current trends in the literature on sustainability by applying a bibliometric review of papers on sustainability published in Environment, Development and Sustainability. Bibliometric analysis is a quantitative approach to bibliographic materials that highlights the core theoretical and empirical research on a specific field. In addition, it allows the classification of previous studies. Previous bibliometric reviewers were limited to sustainability papers in specific industries, while this study considers all papers on sustainability to provide further insights on overall sustainability topics. The analysis was based on keyword cartography analysis, bibliometric authors' citation analysis, bibliometric papers' citation analysis, bibliometric references' co-citation analysis, journals' co-citation cartography, and qualitative content analysis. A total of 997 articles on sustainability were reviewed. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer and content analysis was performed using WordStat. Six major clusters were identified: environmental sustainability, sustainable development, urban sustainability, ecological footprint, environment, and climate change. In addition, the results reveal that Environment, Development and Sustainability has increasingly experienced important growth in research papers and citations, reflecting its significant contribution to the sustainability research field. In addition, this study presents recommendations for future research opportunities in the field of sustainability. The findings of this study have implications for sustainability research, such as the assessment of environmental and social sustainability in multinational institutional contexts and across industries as well as the examination of the impact of environmental and social sustainability on different corporate aspects and decisions. This study is the only one to review the key topics on which papers published in Environment, Development and Sustainability are focused and can be largely used for sustainability practices. This study provides an overview of how the literature on sustainability has developed, as well as a summary of the most productive authors, along with countries, organizations, and journal sources. Objectives: This study aims to analyze and visualize the top dental papers from 2012 to 2022 using data from essential science indicators (ESIs). Materials and Methods: The present study was conducted using library and retrospective bibliometric analysis methods. Additionally, a science map has been created. Web of Science was searched on January 18, 2023. The results were limited to the top papers in ESIs. The bibliometric information of the top papers was evaluated. Next, the VOSviewer was used to perform a co‐occurrence analysis and visualize data. Results: The findings showed that Mariano Belén Sanz and Maurizio S. Tonetti were the top two authors. The University of London and the University of Bern had the highest number of articles. These articles were published in 55 journals. According to the analysis of keyword co‐occurrence, the most frequently used keywords in the field of dentistry include "periodontitis," "dental implants," "periodontal disease," "mechanical properties," "peri‐implantitis," "oral health," "dental caries," "dental materials," "3D printing." Conclusion: The findings of this study enable readers to pinpoint the authors, organizations, countries, and journals that have made the biggest contributions to the list of the most often cited dentistry papers. In medicine, bibliometric citation analysis is frequently used to assist researchers in learning the fundamentals of a subject and pinpoint subtopics of broad interest for additional study. Introduction: The cites received by a paper is the most common method used to determine its impact in a particular scientifi c fi eld. Plantar fasciitis is one of the fi ve most common skeletal muscle injuries in runners. With a multi-factor aetiology, this degenerative process of the plantar fascia occurs when it is repetitively exposed to tensile overload. This research aims to analyse the characteristics of the 25 most-cited papers on plantar fasciitis in runners. Material and methods: To fi nd the top-cited articles, the Web of Science database was used. Data was analysed regarding the number of citations, year of publication, publishing journal, research area, authorship, institution, country, and bibliographic references. Results: The 25 most cited articles were published between 1983 and 2009. The 2000s is the most productive decade, paperwise. 84 % of these articles are from the US. They were published in 11 journals. On average, they had 78.5 citations per article. The main research areas in which the papers were developed were Orthopaedics and Sport Science. Conclusion: The results of this research facilitate the identifi cation of the most relevant research papers contributing to the development of scientifi c knowledge in the aetiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of plantar fasciitis in runners, and help to determine how it has evolved over time. It is also a way of acknowledging authors and institutions with outstanding contributions and leadership in this research area, as well as their most infl uential authors.

This article maps the scientific production and the contents associated with the sustainable development goals and their integration with universities during the past 21 years. Although many of the topics related to sustainable development goals (SDGs) have been addressed in different studies for decades, it is since 2015 onwards that they gained greater prominence due to the inclusion of higher education as an important actor in the fulfillment of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations SDGs. For the purpose of this paper, a bibliometric analysis of 871 papers, 535 documents in Scopus, and 336 in Web of Science (WoS) from 1998 to 2019 was performed, and the Bibliometrix analysis tool was used. The objective of this mapping is to answer the following research question: Is the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals and Universities a field of study? An analysis of the network of collaborators and trend topics in Scopus and WoS allows us to identify the concurrence and relationships of some keywords, such as sustainable development, sustainability and planning, and some background words, such as humans and global health. In another analysis, the word "higher education" is related to change. This article suggests that the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in Universities is becoming a field of study under exploration, with a peak of production in 2016 and that has remained stable in the last three years, but thanks to the leading role assigned to Universities, intellectual production should increase in the following years.

Open educational resources (OER) is a topic that has aroused increasing interest by researchers as a powerful contribution to improve the educational system quality and openness, both in face to face and distance education. The goal of this research is to map publications related to OER, dating from 2002 to 2013, and available through the Web of Science and Scopus scientific databases as well as in the OER Knowledge Cloud open repository. Data were used to explore relevant aspects related to the scientific production in OER, such as: (i) number of publications per year; (ii) most cited publications; (iii) authors with higher number of publications; (iv) institutions and countries with more publications and (v) most referenced bibliography by the authors. The analysis has included 544 papers, written by 843 authors, from 338 institutions, from 61 different countries. Moreover, the analysis has included the publications referenced and the author's keywords, considering 6,355 different publications and 929 different keywords. Besides presenting a bibliographic mapping of the research on OER, this paper also intends to contribute to consolidate the idea that OER is a promising field for researchers, in line with the spreading of the Open movement.

Research on online faculty professional development (OFPD) in higher education has increased in recent years. As there is, nevertheless, a scarcity of quantitative investigations on research publications in this area, a bibliometric analysis of 248 publications collected from the Scopus database was conducted. Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software tools were used for descriptive and network analyses. The research results showed that the overall trend of publication in this domain increased steadily at an annual growth rate of 14.11% during the past 25 years. "Journal of Asynchronous Learning Network" and "Computers and Education" ranked the highest among journals with regard to publication number and citation number, respectively. With a total of 298 citations to his paper, Peter Shea was ranked the most impactful author while Maria Northcote, with five publications, was the most productive. In terms of geographical location of research activity, America played the leading role, with Asia emerging in this field. The publication entitled "A Research Agenda for Online Teacher Professional Development" by Dede et al. topped the list for both total citations and average yearly citations. As to recent trends, teacher professional development through online teaching was emergent partly due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Pedagogy training, online community building, and facilitating online teachers were the themes that researchers favored. The study will contribute toward better understanding of the existing literary landscape of research on OFPD given the potential of OFPD in enhancing faculty's effectiveness in their classrooms and over the course of their teaching careers.

The number of publications is the first criteria for assessing a researcher output. However, the main measurement for author productivity is the number of citations, and citations are typically related to the paper's visibility. In this paper, the relationship between article visibility and the number of citations is investigated. A case study of two researchers who are using publication marketing tools confirmed that the article visibility will greatly improve the citation impact. Some strategies to make the publications available to a larger audience have been presented at the end of this paper.

Aims: The purpose of this study is the analysis of bibliometric studies of the medical most-cited papers. Materials and Methods: This applied and the scientometric study was conducted using retrospective bibliometric analysis methods. AScopus search was conducted and 883 articles were retrieved. After reviewing the titles and abstracts, 432 articles related to the purpose of this research were identified. Items such as year, journal, country, and institution were considered. Medical subject heading and NLM were applied for the subject categorization of articles. Given the dynamics of subject areas over time, only the content of 117 articles published in 2020 and 2021 were analyzed. These 117 articles have been reviewed with 11,700 most-cited articles. By reviewing 117 articles, the most productive journal, country, and institute in producing 11,700 articles were identified. Results: The findings have shown a significant number of these publications review 100 most-cited articles in the field of medicine. Articles pertaining to the Nervous System, Musculoskeletal System, Dentistry, Radiology, and Cardiovascular System are the most numerous among the publications. Conclusion: The results of this study allow readers to know the most productive countries, institutions, and journals of various subject areas, as well as the most influential fields and research trends in that subject area. Background: Neuropathic pain research has grown impressively in the past two decades, as evidenced by improvements in research quality and increments in the number of research papers. In views of this situation, the use of quantitative measurements to analyze and characterize existing research has become imperative. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the 100 most-cited papers in neuropathic pain research. Methods: Neuropathic pain-related articles published between 2000 and 2020 were screened from Web of Science (WOS) by using the following subject terms: TI = (Neuralgia$ OR Neurodynia$ OR "Neuropathic pain" OR sciatica OR "Nerve pain$"). The publications were ranked in a descending order on the basis of citation counts, and the top 100 most-cited neuropathic pain papers were determined. Subsequently, we conducted a bibliometric study to determine the authors, journals, countries, and institutions that contributed the most to the top 100 neuropathic pain lists; describe the keywords and hotspots of the top 100 most-cited papers; and explore the factors associated with successful citations. Results: The top 100 most-cited papers were published from 2000 to 2017, and 2003 had the largest number of published papers (n = 16). The mean number of citations per paper was 480.72, with a range of 262–1,569. Forty-four kinds of journals contributed to the top 100 most-cited papers, which were predominantly published in "Pain" (n = 23). The USA was determined to be the leader of neuropathic pain research in terms of quality and quantity. Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive list of the most influential papers on neuropathic pain and demonstrates the important advances in this field to help understand academic concerns and the directions of technological innovations in neuropathic pain worldwide. Aim: A well-known method for quantitatively evaluating scholarly work is bibliometric analysis. Best-cited papers raise awareness of the influential publications and patterns in the literature on a specific subject. The aim was to conduct bibliometric analysis to determine most cited articles on vesiculobullous oral lesions. This is the first study on citation analysis with respect to vesiculobullous oral lesions. Materials and Methods: A retrospective data search was explored on December 2022 using the Scopus database. The articles were evaluated, and fundamental data for bibliometric analysis was reviewed. Standard details about the author, linked organizations, publishing year, and place of origin were noted. Statistical analysis was performed using Chi-square analysis. VOSviewer software was used to determine the bibliometric network analysis for co-occurrence among coauthors and commonly used keywords. Results: A total of 344 articles published from 1971 to 2022 were included in the study. A total of 6680 citations and 19.41 citations per article were observed. The journal Archives of Dermatology received the most citation. There was a significant association between the number of citations and the journal type (open access vs. non-open access) (P < 0.05). Four to five highly related clusters with the help of VOSviewer software were found during co-occurrence network analysis. Conclusions: The top 10 articles on vesiculobullous oral lesions that received the most citations were listed in detail in the present study. The new crown pneumonia (COVID-19) has become a global epidemic. The disease has spread to most countries and poses a challenge to the healthcare system. Contact tracing technology is an effective way for public health to deal with diseases. Many experts have studied traditional contact tracing and developed digital contact tracking. In order to better understand the field of contact tracking, it is necessary to analyze the development of contact tracking in the field of computer science by bibliometrics. The purpose of this research is to use literature statistics and topic analysis to characterize the research literature of contact tracking in the field of computer science, to gain an in-depth understanding of the literature development status of contact tracking and the trend of hot topics over the past decade. In order to achieve the aforementioned goals, we conducted a bibliometric study in this paper. The study uses data collected from the Scopus database. Which contains more than 10,000 articles, including more than 2,000 in the field of computer science. For popular trends, we use VOSviewer for visual analysis. The number of contact tracking documents published annually in the computer field is increasing. At present, there are 200 to 300 papers published in the field of computer science each year, and the number of uncited papers is relatively small. Through the visual analysis of the paper, we found that the hot topic of contact tracking has changed from the past "mathematical model," "biological model," and "algorithm" to the current "digital contact tracking," "privacy," and "mobile application" and other topics. Contact tracking is currently a hot research topic. By selecting the most cited papers, we can display high-quality literature in contact tracking and characterize the development trend of the entire field through topic analysis. This is useful for students and researchers new to field of contact tracking ai well as for presenting our results to other subjects. Background: The most impactful research on pediatric type 1 diabetes (T1D) remains unknown. Objective: We aimed to evaluate the characteristics and impact of the 100 most-cited articles on pediatric T1D. Materials and Methods: Using a predefined bibliometric strategy, the Scopus database was searched for high-cited papers (HCPs) published from 2001 to 2020. Articles were evaluated for data on the publication year, countries, authors, journals, topics, and types. Social network analysis was performed to visualize the interaction among countries, organizations, and authors using VOSviewer software. Results: The top 100 HCPs received 390 to 4634 citations, averaging 773.5 citations per paper (CPP). The funded HCPs (n = 50) had a higher impact (CPP 791.5). The majority of HCPs (n = 83) were collaborative. Classifying by research type, 65 studies were clinical (n = 65), risk factors (n = 27), epidemiology (n = 26), pathophysiology (n = 16), treatment outcome (n = 13), genetics (n = 12), complications (n = 3), quality of life (n = 2), and prognosis (n = 1). The number of authors involved was 1,101, affiliated with 545 organizations in 27 countries; the USA (n = 64) and the UK (n = 24) were the most productive countries, whereas Australia and the UK were the most impactful. D.M. Nathan and J.M. Lawrence were the most prolific authors, while P. Raskin and J.M. Lachin were the most impactful. Conclusions: High-income countries such as the USA, UK, and Australia contribute significantly to high-impact pediatric T1D research. Funding and collaboration improve the impact of citations in publications. Less researched areas such as treatment outcomes, genetics, complications, quality of life, and prognosis should be the focus of future research on pediatric T1D. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
