The research groups in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning have dedicated a substantial amount of attention to the areas of 3D object reconstruction, augmentation, and registration. Deep learning is the predominant method used in artificial intelligence for addressing computer vision challenges. However, deep learning on three-dimensional data presents distinct obstacles and is now in its nascent phase. There have been significant advancements in deep learning specifically for three-dimensional data, offering a range of ways to address these issues. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements in deep learning methodologies. We examine many benchmark models for the tasks of 3D object registration, augmentation, and reconstruction. We thoroughly analyse their architectures, advantages, and constraints. In summary, this report provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in three-dimensional deep learning and highlights unresolved research areas that will need to be addressed in the future. De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. Symbolic semantic understanding of staff images is an important technological support to achieve "intelligent score flipping". Due to the complex composition of staff symbols and the strong semantic correlation between symbol spaces, it is difficult to understand the pitch and duration of each note when the staff is performed. In this paper, we design a semantic understanding system for optical staff symbols. The system uses the YOLOv5 to implement the optical staff's low-level semantic understanding stage, which understands the pitch and duration in natural scales and other symbols that affect the pitch and duration. The proposed note encoding reconstruction algorithm is used to implement the high-level semantic understanding stage. Such an algorithm understands the logical, spatial, and temporal relationships between natural scales and other symbols based on music theory and outputs digital codes for the pitch and duration of the main notes during performances. The model is trained with a self-constructed SUSN dataset. Experimental results with YOLOv5 show that the precision is 0.989 and that the recall is 0.972. The system's error rate is 0.031, and the omission rate is 0.021. The paper concludes by analyzing the causes of semantic understanding errors and offers recommendations for further research. The results of this paper provide a method for multimodal music artificial intelligence applications such as notation recognition through listening, intelligent score flipping, and automatic performance. Nowadays, artificial intelligence is used everywhere in the world and is becoming a key factor for innovation and progress in many areas of human life. From medicine to industry to consumer electronics, its influence is ever-expanding and permeates all aspects of our modern society. This article presents the use of artificial intelligence (prediction) for the control of three motors used for effector control in a spherical parallel kinematic structure of a designed device. The kinematic model used was the "Agile eye" which can achieve high dynamics and has three degrees of freedom. A prototype of this device was designed and built, on which experiments were carried out in the framework of motor control. As the prototype was created through the means of the available equipment (3D printing and lathe), the clearances of the kinematic mechanism were made and then calibrated through prediction. The paper also presents a method for motor control calibration. On the one hand, using AI is an efficient way to achieve higher precision in positioning the optical axis of the effector. On the other hand, such calibration would be rendered unnecessary if the clearances and inaccuracies in the mechanism could be eliminated mechanically. The device was designed with imperfections such as clearances in mind so the effectiveness of the calibration could be tested and evaluated. The resulting control of the achieved movements of the axis of the device (effector) took place when obtaining the exact location of the tracked point. There are several methods for controlling the motors of mechatronic devices (e.g., Matlab-Simscape). This paper presents an experiment performed to verify the possibility of controlling the kinematic mechanism through neural networks and eliminating inaccuracies caused by imprecisely produced mechanical parts. Accurate numerical values of aerodynamic parameters are important in aircraft design. The knowledge of stability and control aerodynamic parameters is essential to postulate high-fidelity control laws. The aerodynamic forces and moments are strong functions of the angle of attack (AOA), Reynolds number, and control surface deflections. Typically, conventional estimation techniques such as maximum likelihood (MLE) and least-squares (LS) principles facilitate the determination of these parameters. Unsteady aerodynamics may complicate the estimation of aerodynamic parameters at high AOA. Data-driven techniques employing neural networks provide an alternative for modeling the system behavior based on its observed state and control input variables. Nonlinearity increases because of flow separation at high AOA, which is close to stall. This paper explores the feasibility of employing a machine learning approach using neural networks to predict aircraft dynamics in a limited sense to identify aerodynamic characteristics. Integrating a neural network with the artificial bee colony (ABC) method facilitated the optimization of unknowns of the proposed aerodynamic model (AM). The proposed neural artificial bee colony (NABC) optimization approach estimated the longitudinal dynamics and stall properties for two experimental aircraft. Comparison of the estimates provided by the NABC approach with those of the standard MLE and neural Gauss–Newton (NGN) techniques established its efficacy. Deep neural networks (DNN) have fundamentally revolutionized the artificial intelligence (AI) field. The transformer model is a type of DNN that was originally used for the natural language processing tasks and has since gained more and more attention for processing various kinds of sequential data, including biological sequences and structured electronic health records. Along with this development, transformer-based models such as BioBERT, MedBERT, and MassGenie have been trained and deployed by researchers to answer various scientific questions originating in the biomedical domain. In this paper, we review the development and application of transformer models for analyzing various biomedical-related datasets such as biomedical textual data, protein sequences, medical structured-longitudinal data, and biomedical images as well as graphs. Also, we look at explainable AI strategies that help to comprehend the predictions of transformer-based models. Intelligent control methodologies and artificial intelligence (AI) are essential components for the efficient management of energy storage modern systems, specifically those utilizing superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES). Through the implementation of AI algorithms, SMES units are able to optimize their operations in real time, thereby maximizing energy efficiency. To have a more advanced understanding of this issue, DynamoMan is presented in this paper. For use with SMES systems, DynamoMan, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-tuned Fractional Order PID Brain Emotional Learning-Based Intelligent Controller (ANN-FOPID-BELBIC), has been developed. ANN tuning is employed to optimize the key settings of the reward/penalty generator of a BELBIC, which are important for its overall efficacy. Following this, DynamoMan is integrated into the SMES control system and compared to scenarios in which a BELBIC, PID, PI, and P are utilized. The findings indicate that DynamoMan performs considerably better than other models, demonstrating robust and control attributes alongside a considerably reduced period of settling time, especially when incorporated with the power grid. Nanophotonics use the interaction between light and subwavelength structures to design nanophotonic devices and to show unique optical, electromagnetic, and acoustic properties that natural materials do not have. However, this usually requires considerable expertise and a lot of time-consuming electromagnetic simulations. With the continuous development of artificial intelligence, people are turning to deep learning for designing nanophotonic devices. Deep learning models can continuously fit the correlation function between the input parameters and output, using models with weights and biases that can obtain results in milliseconds to seconds. In this paper, we use finite-difference time-domain for simulations, and we obtain the reflectance spectra from 2430 different structures. Based on these reflectance spectra data, we use neural networks for training, which can quickly predict unseen structural reflectance spectra. The effectiveness of this method is verified by comparing the predicted results to the simulation results. Almost all results maintain the main trend, the MSE of 94% predictions are below 10−3, all are below 10−2, and the MAE of 97% predictions are below 2 × 10−2. Machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), in particular, are common tools for anomaly detection (AD). With the rapid increase in the number of Internet-connected devices, the growing desire for Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the home, on our person, and in our vehicles, and the transition to smart infrastructure and the Industrial IoT (IIoT), anomaly detection in these devices is critical. This paper is a survey of anomaly detection in sensor networks/the IoT. This paper defines what an anomaly is and surveys multiple sources based on those definitions. The goal of this survey was to highlight how anomaly detection is being performed on the Internet of Things and sensor networks, identify anomaly detection approaches, and outlines gaps in the research in this domain. The applications of deep learning and artificial intelligence have permeated daily life, with time series prediction emerging as a focal area of research due to its significance in data analysis. The evolution of deep learning methods for time series prediction has progressed from the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) to the recently popularized Transformer network. However, each of these methods has encountered specific issues. Recent studies have questioned the effectiveness of the self-attention mechanism in Transformers for time series prediction, prompting a reevaluation of approaches to LTSF (Long Time Series Forecasting) problems. To circumvent the limitations present in current models, this paper introduces a novel hybrid network, Temporal Convolutional Network-Linear (TCN-Linear), which leverages the temporal prediction capabilities of the Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) to enhance the capacity of LSTF-Linear. Time series from three classical chaotic systems (Lorenz, Mackey–Glass, and Rossler) and real-world stock data serve as experimental datasets. Numerical simulation results indicate that, compared to classical networks and novel hybrid models, our model achieves the lowest RMSE, MAE, and MSE with the fewest training parameters, and its R2 value is the closest to 1. The 6G wireless communication system will utilize the terahertz (THz) frequency band (0.1-10 THz) to meet customer demand for increased data rates and ultra-high-speed communication in future applications. The exponential surge in data traffic, which is supported by dynamic resource allocation. To mitigate this challenge, the use of artificial intelligence-based methods, such as narrow neural network (NNN), can help to smooth the performance of the network. In this paper, an NNN-based approach for dynamic base station allocation for 6G wireless networks is proposed 14 different 6G parameters used to train the NNN model, initially achieving an accuracy of 89.5% and an F1 score of 0.72 for 200 users. Results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed NNN approach for dynamic decision-making in 6G networks and its potential for application in other domains where similar problems exist. Moreover, the proposed narrow neural network model shows improved results with an increase in number of users and decrease in fully connected layers and regularization strength (lambda). The validation accuracy received is 98.9% and 99.6% for thousand users with single fully connected layer, none (linear) activation function and regularization strength lambda values of 0.01 and 0.001. Autonomous mobile robots are essential to the industry, and human–robot interactions are becoming more common nowadays. These interactions require that the robots navigate scenarios with static and dynamic obstacles in a safely manner, avoiding collisions. This paper presents a physical implementation of a method for dynamic obstacle avoidance using a long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network that obtains information from the mobile robot's LiDAR for it to be capable of navigating through scenarios with static and dynamic obstacles while avoiding collisions and reaching its goal. The model is implemented using a TurtleBot3 mobile robot within an OptiTrack motion capture (MoCap) system for obtaining its position at any given time. The user operates the robot through these scenarios, recording its LiDAR readings, target point, position inside the MoCap system, and its linear and angular velocities, all of which serve as the input for the LSTM network. The model is trained on data from multiple user-operated trajectories across five different scenarios, outputting the linear and angular velocities for the mobile robot. Physical experiments prove that the model is successful in allowing the mobile robot to reach the target point in each scenario while avoiding the dynamic obstacle, with a validation accuracy of 98.02%. Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a condition linked to severe cardiovascular and neuropsychological consequences, characterized by recurrent episodes of partial or complete upper airway obstruction during sleep, leading to compromised ventilation, hypoxemia, and micro-arousals. Polysomnography (PSG) serves as the gold standard for confirming OSAHS, yet its extended duration, high cost, and limited availability pose significant challenges. In this paper, we employ a range of machine learning techniques, including Neural Networks, Decision Trees, Random Forests, and Extra Trees, for OSAHS diagnosis. This approach aims to achieve a diagnostic process that is not only more accessible but also more efficient. The dataset utilized in this study consists of records from 601 adults assessed between 2014 and 2016 at a specialized sleep medical center in Colombia. This research underscores the efficacy of ensemble methods, specifically Random Forests and Extra Trees, achieving an area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve of 89.2% and 89.6%, respectively. Additionally, a web application has been devised, integrating the optimal model, empowering qualified medical practitioners to make informed decisions through patient registration, an input of 18 variables, and the utilization of the Random Forests model for OSAHS screening. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful tool in healthcare significantly impacting practices from diagnostics to treatment delivery and patient management. This article examines the progress of AI in healthcare, starting from the field's inception in the 1960s to present-day innovative applications in areas such as precision medicine, robotic surgery, and drug development. In addition, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the acceleration of the use of AI in technologies such as telemedicine and chatbots to enhance accessibility and improve medical education is also explored. Looking forward, the paper speculates on the promising future of AI in healthcare while critically addressing the ethical and societal considerations that accompany the integration of AI technologies. In this paper, the implementation of a new pupil detection system based on artificial intelligence techniques suitable for real-time and real-word applications is presented. The proposed AI-based pupil detection system uses a classifier implemented with slim-type neural networks, with its classes being defined according to the possible positions of the pupil within the eye image. In order to reduce the complexity of the neural network, a new parallel architecture is used in which two independent classifiers deliver the pupil center coordinates. The training, testing, and validation of the proposed system were performed using almost 40,000 eye images with a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels and coming from 20 different databases, with a high degree of generality. The experimental results show a detection rate of 96.29% at five pixels with a standard deviation of 3.38 pixels for all eye images from all databases and a processing speed of 100 frames/s. These results indicate both high accuracy and high processing speed, and they allow us to use the proposed solution for different real-time applications in variable and non-uniform lighting conditions, in fields such as assistive technology to communicate with neuromotor-disabled patients by using eye typing, in computer gaming, and in the automotive industry for increasing traffic safety by monitoring the driver's cognitive state. Researchers worldwide have been focusing on accurately predicting the remaining useful life of electronic devices to ensure reliability in various industries. This has been made possible by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. However, accurately forecasting device life with minimal data sets, especially in industrial applications, remains a challenge. This paper aims to address this challenge by utilizing machine learning algorithms, specifically BP, XGBOOST, and KNN, to predict device reliability with limited data. The remaining life dataset of electronic components is obtained through simulation for training and testing the algorithms, and the experimental results show that the algorithms achieve a certain level of accuracy, with the error rates being as follows: BP algorithm, 0.01–0.02%; XGBOOST algorithm, 0.01–0.02%; and KNN algorithm, 0–0.07%. By benchmarking these algorithms, the study demonstrates the feasibility of deploying machine learning models for device life prediction with acceptable accuracy loss, and highlights the potential of AI algorithms in predicting the reliability of electronic devices. Image semantic segmentation technology is one of the core research contents in the field of computer vision. With the improvement of computer performance and the continuous development of deep learning technology, researchers have more and more enthusiasm to study the actual effect and performance of image semantic segmentation. The results of deep semantic segmentation allow computers to have a more detailed and accurate understanding of images, and have a wide range of application needs in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent security, medical imaging, remote sensing images, etc. However, the existing image semantic segmentation algorithms have the disadvantages of easy discontinuous results and insufficient prediction accuracy. In this paper, we take deep learning-based image semantic segmentation technology as the research object to explore the improvement of the image semantic segmentation algorithm and its application in road scenarios. First, this paper proposes MCU-Net method based on residual fusion and multi-scale contextual information. MCU-Net uses residual fusion module to deepen the network structure and improve the ability of U-Net to acquire deeper features. Then a top-down and bottom-up path is constructed for feature information between different levels, and the spatial and semantic information contained in shallow and deep features in the network is fully utilized by fusing features from different levels. In addition, an enhanced void space pyramid pooling module is added for feature information between the same levels, which enables the output features to have a larger range of semantic information. Second, this paper proposes the DAMCU-Net method based on attention mechanism and edge detection based on MCU-Net. DAMCU-Net extracts global contextual information by the attention mechanism optimization module, while fusing features using dense jump connections to facilitate the network to recover more spatial detail information during upsampling, and uses the FReLU activation function to improve the segmentation capability of the network for complex targets. For the edge information lost in the feature extraction process, the edge detection branch is added to supplement the feature information of the main path by feature fusion to achieve the optimization of the edge information. The development of a voice assistant based on neural systems is an actual line of research in the field of artificial intelligence. Existing voice assistants were analyzed and their advantages and disadvantages were identified in this paper. The following concepts were considered: natural language processing, and neural networks. Different methods of natural language processing significantly increase the quality of work of many programs, because they can interact with people at a natural level for humans without any problems. Modern voice assistants can help millions of people around the world at the same time, regardless of the time of the request. They are covering more and more spheres every year, from ordering food and taxis and making plans for the day to acting as translators. The types of dialogue systems, the voice assistants` scope of use and their types, recurrent neural networks and data processing models Seq2seq and Transformer, as well as the work of the theoretical component of voice assistants based on neural networks, were considered. Node.js libraries were examined in detail, and an own voice assistant was created and outputs of this system were given. In addition, the possibilities of integrating the voice assistant with other systems and platforms, which expands its functionality and improves interaction with the user, were examined. General theoretical information about voice assistants and their components and principles of work were analysed. An environment for writing a voice assistant was chosen and a practical implementation of writing code for a voice assistant and an example of ready-made code were shown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, the need for systems capable of achieving the dynamic learning and information storage efficiency of the biological brain has led to the emergence of neuromorphic research. In particular, neuromorphic optics was born with the idea of reproducing the functional and structural properties of the biological brain. In this context, solitonic neuromorphic research has demonstrated the ability to reproduce dynamic and plastic structures capable of learning and storing through conformational changes in the network. In this paper, we demonstrate that solitonic neural networks are capable of mimicking the functional behaviour of biological neural tissue, in terms of synaptic formation procedures and dynamic reinforcement. Identity recognition technology is a type of technology that realizes identity verification based on certain biological characteristics. After entering the Internet era, this technology has become a popular research direction in the computer field. In this paper, the image of the tooth print is used as the biological feature to carry out the research on the identification algorithm. This paper adopts the target detection algorithm based on neural network to detect a single tooth imprint area of the target, build a target detection network. The experimental results show that the method has a good segmentation effect on the target area, and the accuracy rate is 91.66%. According to the contour features of the collected tooth print images, a set of tooth pore area ratio feature extraction methods are designed. To objectively evaluate the recognition and classification method, the support vector machine is used as the final classifier. The recognition accuracy rate is 94.09%, and the verification accuracy rate is 94.09%. The test accuracy rate is 91.46%, and the classification effect is excellent. Model pruning is one of the main methods of deep neural network model compression. However, the existing model pruning methods are inefficient, there is still a lot of redundancy in the network, and the pruning has a great impact on the accuracy. In addition, the traditional pruning process usually needs to fine-tune the network to restore accuracy, and fine-tuning has a limited effect on accuracy recovery, so it is difficult to achieve a high level of accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new neural network pruning framework: the channel sparsity is realized by introducing a scale factor, and the sparse network is pruned by setting a global threshold, which greatly improves the efficiency of pruning. After pruning, this paper proposes a rewind method to restore the accuracy, that is, save the weight after training, and then reload it on the network for training to restore the accuracy. In addition, we also study the best rewind point of the three networks. The experimental results show that our method significantly reduces the number of parameters and FLOPs without affecting or even improving the accuracy, and the rewind method proposed by us achieves a better accuracy recovery effect than fine-tuning. At the same time, we find that the epoch with the highest accuracy is the best rewind point, and the accuracy is the highest after saving its corresponding weight and retraining the model. Nowadays, individuals have very stressful lifestyles, affecting their nutritional habits. In the early stages of life, teenagers begin to exhibit bad habits and inadequate nutrition. Likewise, other people with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other conditions may not take food or medicine regularly. Therefore, the ability to monitor could be beneficial for them and for the doctors that can analyze the patterns of eating habits and their correlation with overall health. Many sensors help accurately detect food intake episodes, including electrogastrography, cameras, microphones, and inertial sensors. Accurate detection may provide better control to enable healthy nutrition habits. This paper presents a systematic review of the use of technology for food intake detection, focusing on the different sensors and methodologies used. The search was performed with a Natural Language Processing (NLP) framework that helps screen irrelevant studies while following the PRISMA methodology. It automatically searched and filtered the research studies in different databases, including PubMed, Springer, ACM, IEEE Xplore, MDPI, and Elsevier. Then, the manual analysis selected 30 papers based on the results of the framework for further analysis, which support the interest in using sensors for food intake detection and nutrition assessment. The mainly used sensors are cameras, inertial, and acoustic sensors that handle the recognition of food intake episodes with artificial intelligence techniques. Background: New developments in artificial intelligence, particularly with promising results in early detection and management of keratoconus, have favorably altered the natural history of the disease over the last few decades. Features of artificial intelligence in different machine such as anterior segment optical coherence tomography, and femtosecond laser technique have improved safety, precision, effectiveness, and predictability of treatment modalities of keratoconus (from contact lenses to keratoplasty techniques). These options ingrained in artificial intelligence are already underway and allow ophthalmologist to approach disease in the most non-invasive way. Objectives: This study comprehensively describes all of the treatment modalities of keratoconus considering machine learning strategies. Design: A multidimensional comprehensive systematic narrative review. Data sources and methods: A comprehensive search was done in the five main electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane), without language and time or type of study restrictions. Afterward, eligible articles were selected by screening the titles and abstracts based on main mesh keywords. For potentially eligible articles, the full text was also reviewed.
