Three new compounds, 17 β -cevanin-6-oxo-5 α ,20 β -diol yibeinine (1), 2-(tetrahydro-5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2H-pyran-3-yl) phenol (2), 1,3- O -diferuloyl-2-methoxypropane diol (3), as well as four known compounds (4 – 7), have been isolated from the ethanol extract of dried bulbs of Fritillaria pallidiflora Schrenk. All structures were determined based on their spectroscopic data (1D and 2D NMR (including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, HMBC, HSQC, HSQC-TOCSY, and NOESY experiments), and MS). Biological evaluation showed that compounds 1 – 4 inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO) in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells with IC 50 values of 18.0, 38.7, 29.5, and 47.1 μM, respectively. Two new diarylheptanoids, 3- hydroxy- 3′,4″- epoxy- 1- (4′- methoxyphenyl) - 7- (3″- hydroxylphenyl)– heptane (1) and 2,3- dihydroxy- 1- (4′- hydroxy- 3′- methoxyphenyl)- 7- (4″- hydroxyphenyl)– heptanes (2), along with two known compounds, JuglaninB (3) and 4,17- dimethoxy- 2- oxatricyclo [13.2.2.13,7] eicosa- 3,5,7 (20),15,17,18- hexaene- 10,16- diol (4), were isolated from the green husks of Juglans regia L. Their structures were elucidated using1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic methods, HRESIMS, and CD spectra. Two new daphnane diterpenes named tianchaterpenes A and B were isolated from the roots of Stelleropsis tianschanica. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral analysis, including 1D, 2D NMR analyses and HRESIMS. Compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against HeLa and HCT-8 cell lines. A new drimane-type sesquiterpene with an isocitric acid moiety, cryptoporic acid S (1), together with six known compounds, cryptoporic acid D (2), β-sitosterol (3), β-daucosterol (4), stigmast-4-en-3-one (5), ergosterol (6), and (22E,24R)-ergosta-7,22-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol (7), was isolated from the fruiting bodies ofCryptoporus volvatus. The structures of these compounds were established on the basis of UV, IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR analysis. In the meanwhile, compounds1and2were evaluated for antioxidant activity using the methods of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging activity (DPPH-RSA) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay, and they exhibited moderate antioxidant activities. Five diarylpentanol derivatives including two new compounds stellerasme A (1), stellerasme B (2) were isolated from the aerial parts ofStelleropsis tianschanica. Natural daphnane diterpenoids, mainly distributed in plants of the Thymelaeaceae and Euphorbiaceae families, usually include a 5/7/6-tricyclic ring system with poly-hydroxyl groups located at C-3, C-4, C-5, C-9, C-13, C-14, or C-20, while some special types have a characteristic orthoester motif triaxially connectedat C-9, C-13, and C-14. The daphnane-type diterpenoids can be classified into five types: 6-epoxy daphnane diterpenoids, resiniferonoids, genkwanines, 1-alkyldaphnanes and rediocides, based on the oxygen-containing functions at rings B and C, as well as the substitution pattern of ring A. Up to now, nearly 200 daphnane-type diterpenoids have been isolated and elucidated from the Thymelaeaceae and Euphorbiaceae families. In-vitro and in-vivo experiments of these compounds have shown that they possess a wide range of biological activities, including anti-HIV, anti-cancer, anti-leukemic, neurotrophic, pesticidal and cytotoxic effects. Four new sesquiterpenoids, known as diarthronchas A–D (1–4), and one known daphnauranol B (5) were isolated from the methanol extract of the roots of Diarthron tianschanica.
