Abstract

This article discuss electric vehicle charging scheduling algorithms to minimize the peak load demand. The charging schedule makes use of a time-of-use system and an optimum method that adjusts the amount of electricity used to charge an electric car depending on its battery's state of charge. This study was implemented in a commercial-residential area and considered various constraints to ensure the study practicality. Three scenarios of electric vehicle charging were tested and analyzed. The outcome of the first scenario demonstrated that uncoordinated charging of electric vehicles would cause a new peak in the grid load. For the second scenario, time-of-use scheme was implemented for electric vehicle charging, which was able to reduce peak loads compared to uncoordinated electric vehicle charging. The final scenario demonstrated that the suggested coordinated electric vehicle charging scheduling algorithm successfully reduced uncoordinated charging load by 33% and increased off-peak load by 87.5% while maximizing the charging power of each electric vehicle battery. Abstract

A vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an intelligent technology that allows efficient communication, secure data transmission, and traffic management. VANET allows vehicles in the network to communicate wirelessly with roadside units (RSUs) or between vehicles within a coverage area. The primary goal of adopting VANET is to reduce the frequency of accidents in specific urban regions drastically. It has a significant impact on passenger safety and the ability of drivers to drive safely in metropolitan areas. As the number of cars on the road grows, so does the number of accidents. As a result, a better traffic system is required to address this issue. VANET is a cutting-edge network that primarily delivers intelligent transportation system (ITS) services to end-users to facilitate data exchange and ensure safety. In this paper, we propose geographical and maximum distance on-demand routing algorithm (G-MDORA) that combines the advantages of geographic routing protocol (GRP) and MDORA protocol for Ad hoc routing between vehicle to vehicle (V2V). Our proposed model provides an idea that can be used to improve the performance of the GRP and MDORA protocol. Abstract

Developed countries continue to search for solutions to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency. Therefore, developed countries have adopted EVs and have integrated them into smart transportation systems (ITS). Electric vehicles (EV) equipped with communication devices and wireless sensors such as an onboard unit (OBU) allow wireless communication between electric vehicles (EV) and roadside units (RSU) called V2I and between electric vehicles and smart grid components such as charging stations (CS) called V2G. This paper reviews EV charging management in terms of the different types of messages that are exchanged between V2I and V2G by the IEC 61850 and IEEE WAVE standards. Besides, this paper explains the algorithm used to schedule electric vehicle charging based on the connection between V2I and V2G. This algorithm ensures that the needs of electric vehicles are met by supplying them with energy through information obtained between the electric vehicle, RSU, and CS. The accurate information obtained through this communication system enables the EV owners to estimate the distance to the nearest and available charging station that may accept EV without burdening the distribution networks. Abstract

Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is one of the new technologies and differs from other ad hoc networks because it has unique characteristics. In the VANET, it is challenging to establish routing protocols due to the frequent disconnection of the connection, the topology changes in the network structure, and the high speed of vehicles. Routing is used in the VANET to di rect vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) or vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) data. VANET contributes to improving intelligent transportation systems (ITS) because it can provide traffic information and increase road safety to reduce daily road accidents. This paper will focus on the position-based routing protocol, and a performance comparison will be made between the MDORA, MDORA-OD, and MDORA-WD protocols in terms of end-to-end (E2E) delay, packet delivery ratio (PDR), and communication overhead. Abstract

The implementation of the asnaf entrepreneurial transformation model through the Human Development Program is a proactive initiative of the State Islamic Religious Council (MAIN) aimed at increasing the asnaf group's potential in the entrepreneurial field. This initiative is in line with the goal of MAIN to increase the effectiveness of zakat distribution through a twopronged strategy to ensure that every asnaf can live a prosperous life while expanding their potential to break free from the shackles of poverty. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has contributed to the rapid development of information and communication technology. The development of various online applications and social media platforms has had a positive impact on people's lives. Therefore, enterprises and entrepreneurial activities, especially the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector, need to enhance their respective competitiveness by participating in digital entrepreneurship platforms. Therefore, this study aims to determine the potential of digital platforms to increase the competitiveness of asnaf zakat entrepreneurs. The study was conducted qualitatively using a descriptive approach through a systematic analysis of highlights. The main sources for this study were obtained from online databases, namely Scopus and Web of Science. The data were then analyzed based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA). The results of the study suggest that digital platforms have the potential to increase the competitiveness of asnaf zakat entrepreneurs through six approaches, namely resources, personality, opportunities, networking, environment, and knowledge. Therefore, the study can serve as a guide for the State Islamic Religious Council to develop appropriate programs and approaches to improve literacy and participation of asnaf zakat entrepreneurs in the digital platform.

Abstract

In recent years, a dedicated vehicular ad hoc network has gained significant interest and is an emerging field of research due to its contribution to the design of intelligent transportation systems. Wireless communication technologies such as (IEEE 802.11P) and (IEEE 1609 WAVE) aid in the transmission of messages from vehicle to infrastructure and vehicle to vehicle in the VANET. In VANET, orienting in an urban setting is a difficult challenge. One of the key issues in a VANET is designing a routing protocol, which aids in the delivery of reliable and efficient packets from node to node. Two types of routing protocols are employed in this study for VANET: Ad-hoc on-Demand Distance Vector and Maximum Distance on-Demand Routing Algorithm. The goal of this study is to compare the performance of the AODV and MDORA protocols in terms of packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay in the case of vehicle movement at variable velocities ranging from (40-120 km/h) in one direction, with the simulation taking place in two environments with different vehicle density. The MATLAB software was used to analyze the performance of the routing protocols for the VANET. Abstract

Conventional automobiles that operate on fossil fuels have recently been recognized as one of the significant contributors to environmental pollution, particularly given their increasing numbers in relation to the global population. Electric vehicle (EV) is considered as an excellent solution to this problem. The most difficult challenge is increasing the production of EVs using efficient and affordable batteries. All types of batteries used in EV have a power loss occurs in the form of temperature. The development of a battery thermal management system (BTMS) is a formidable obstacle. The new concept aims to improve the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) efficiency by integrating it with a thermoelectric generator (TEG), which is accomplished by fabricating a TEC‐TEG model. The goal of combining a TEG and a TEC is to utilize waste heat generated on the TEC hot side and convert it into a stream that can be used to feed the TEC and increase its efficiency. 36. Impact of Stearic Acid as Heat Storage Material on Energy Efficiency and Economic Feasibility of a Vacuum Tube Solar Water Heater.

Abstract

The overheating of heat pipes, poor transfer of heat across the absorber and finned heat pipes, and inability to provide hot water in the late evening hours are major problems associated with conventional heat pipe vacuum collector systems. The amalgamation of highly conductive storage material between the absorber tube (heat collecting surface) and the heat pipe is an effective way to overcome these problems. In this study, a stearic acid amalgamated vacuum tube solar collector system was designed and fabricated and its thermal output compared with a conventional vacuum tube system without storage material under the same environmental conditions. The experimental results showed that the amalgamation of stearic acid as storage material enhanced the thermal output of the solar system compared to the conventional one. The desired heat gain of the solar system with storage material increased by 31.30, 23.34, and 18.78% for Test 1_40 °C, Test 2_45 °C, and Test 3_50 °C, respectively. The technoeconomic analysis showed that almost 118.80 USD in revenue could be earned by the proposed solar system at the end of 15 years. The total running cost of ELG and the developed solar system was observed to be 202.62 and 86.70 USD, respectively. On average, the cost of hot water production using the solar system and ELG was found to be 0.0016 and 0.004 USD/L, respectively. The value of LEC was found to be 0.062 USD/electricity unit, which was much lower than the LEC value of ELG (0.116 USD/electricity unit). The value of NPW (73.73 USD) indicated high acceptability of the proposed system. The payback time is lower than the life of the system, indicating its suitability for use in the commercial sector. Abstract

The environmental crisis, due to the rapid growth of the world population and globalisation, is a serious concern of this century. Nanoscience and nanotechnology play an important role in addressing a wide range of environmental issues with innovative and successful solutions. Identification and control of emerging chemical contaminants have received substantial interest in recent years. As a result, there is a need for reliable and rapid analytical tools capable of performing sample analysis with high sensitivity, broad selectivity, desired stability, and minimal sample handling for the detection, degradation, and removal of hazardous contaminants. In this review, various gold–carbon nanocomposites-based sensors/biosensors that have been developed thus far are explored. The electrochemical platforms, synthesis, diverse applications, and effective monitoring of environmental pollutants are investigated comparatively.
