A nanosecond Nd:YAG laser was used to study the laser ablation of aluminum foil in the phase explosion regime at a laser intensity range of 0.63–3.61 × 10 12 W / cm 2. Laser ablation and plasma characteristics were studied using microscopic ablation crater images, plasma emission spectra, and plasma plume images. Measured plasma density using a Stark width of Al I (396.2 nm) showed a strong linear correlation with crater size, with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.97. To understand the origin of this linear correlation, plasma temperature was estimated using Bremsstrahlung emission from 512 to 700 nm. The estimated plasma temperature and aspect ratio of the plasma plume were negatively correlated, having r = − 0.76. This negative correlation resulted from a laser-plasma interaction, which heated the plasma and increased its hydrodynamic length. The percentages of laser energy used for plasma heating ( E p / E L ) and Al foil ablation ( E Al / E L ) were estimated from plasma temperature. Increased E Al / E L , such as crater size, with increasing laser intensity, confirms that greater mass ablation is the fundamental reason for the strong linear correlation between crater size and plasma density. We present results on underwater electrical explosions of thin aluminum and copper foils using a generator delivering ∼200 kA current amplitude, ∼0.9 μs rise time pulses. Time-resolved shadow imaging displays the generation of a strong planar shock wave in water in the vicinity of the exploding foil. Using time-resolved spectroscopy, aluminum oxide (AlO) absorption bands were observed in a Planckian-like spectrum, indicating that aluminum combustion starts when aluminum vaporizes. Comprehensive Summary A new fluorescent fingerprint powder (DFF‐MMT) was formulated by blending cyclic chalcone dye DFF with montmorillonite (MMT), which can develop latent fingerprints (LFPs) with exceptional resolution and contrast on various surfaces, including ordinary glass, tin foil, marble, LED screens, and materials with distinct colors and fluorescent backgrounds. The fluorescence of DFF‐MMT transforms from orange to bright yellow with LFPs, allowing for a flawless visualization of fingerprints on uneven surfaces or materials with static electricity. Impressively, fingerprints developed by DFF‐MMT can be stored for over 21 months and conveniently duplicated. The developed LFPs by DFF‐MMT still keep high quality under the influence of aquatic condition, illumination and thermal effects. DFF‐MMT also exhibits benefits, such as affordability, real‐time, high‐resolution, high‐contrast development and no damage to DNA, making it an ideal choice for sophisticated criminal investigations. Objectives Methods Results Conclusions Tactile acuity is a somatosensory measure of the extent to which humans can discern tactile stimuli. It is influenced by how peripheral signals are processed centrally. In the oral cavity, Occlusal Tactile Acuity (OTA) is the ability to perceive minimal thicknesses between antagonist teeth. The aim of the current study was to assess the association between psychological traits and OTA of otherwise healthy individuals.Sixty‐three volunteers (32 males; mean age ± SD: 24.6 ± 2.7 years) participated in this study. Somatosensory amplification, anxiety, depression, physical symptoms and pain catastrophizing were scored using questionnaires, and subgroups of severity were created per variable based on cut‐offs. OTA was measured using 9 aluminium foils with thickness (ranging from 8 to 72 μm) and one sham test (without foil). Each thickness was tested 10 times in random order, the participants were instructed to report whether they felt the foil between their molars and the mean percentage of correct answers was computed. A linear mixed model was used with OTA as a dependent variable and psychological domain as an independent variable.Significantly different OTA was observed among the anxiety subgroups (p = .003), supporting a decreased perception of thicknesses 24 and 32 μm (p = .018 and p < .001, respectively) in participants with moderate/severe anxiety compared to those with no/mild anxiety. Significantly different OTA was also observed among the pain catastrophizing subgroups (p = .008), showing decreased perception of thicknesses 32 and 40 μm (p < .001 and p = .007, respectively) in severe catastrophizing levels, compared to no/mild catastrophizing levels. No significant differences were observed for the other variables.Healthy adults with increased anxiety or pain catastrophizing levels show decreased interdental acuity as compared to participants with minor or no psychological impairment. This study highlights for the first‐time the utilization of nickel foam coated with activated carbon (AC) via the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method in the fabrication of A7 sized pouch cell supercapacitors. The scale‐up of electrodes via EPD from coin to pouch cells with mass loadings (10 mg cm−2) and thicknesses (>130 μm) that match industrial standards is also reported. Research investigations include: (a) comparison of a two dimensional (2D) aluminum foil current collector's performance with three dimensional (3D) microporous nickel foam current collectors, (b) impact of EPD of AC onto small (10 cm2) and large areas (50 cm2) of nickel foam, and (c) scaling‐up of coin to pouch cells along with a comparison against electrodes prepared via the standard doctor blade coating (or slurry casting) method. We demonstrate practical cell performance, including specific current loading (40 A g−1), hundred thousand of successive charge and discharge operation (150,000 cycles), power (27 kW kg−1) and energy densities (37.7 W h kg−1), capacitance (174 F g−1), capacitance retention (80 %) and coulombic efficiency (close to 100 %). To be CMOS-compatible, a low preparation temperature (<500 °C) for ferroelectric films is required. In this study, BiFeO3 films were successfully fabricated at a low annealing temperature (<450 °C) on aluminum foils by a metal–organic decomposition process. The effect of the annealing atmosphere on the performance of BiFeO3 films was assessed at 440 ± 5 °C. By using a N2-rich atmosphere, a large remnant polarization (Pr~78.1 μC/cm2 @ 1165.2 kV/cm), and a high rectangularity (~91.3% @ 1165.2 kV/cm) of the P-E loop, excellent charge-retaining ability of up to 1.0 × 103 s and outstanding fatigue resistance after 1.0 × 109 switching cycles could be observed. By adopting a N2-rich atmosphere and aluminum foil substrates, acceptable electrical properties (Pr~70 μC/cm2 @ 1118.1 kV/cm) of the BiFeO3 films were achieved at the very low annealing temperature of 365 ± 5 °C. Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanostructures were synthesized on an aluminum foil substrate by green synthesis method using the hot water treatment method at 75°C for 1, 7, 15, and 30 minutes. In this study, growth time was varied to study its effect on the Al2O3 nanostructure's size and density. The morphological and structural properties of the as-prepared Al2O3 nanostructures were investigated using SEM imaging and XRD analysis, and the optical properties were studied through UV-Vis spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations revealed porous agglomerated Al2O3 nanostructures, and the porous nanostructured particle size decreased in the 80 nm-35 nm range as the synthesis reaction time increased from 1 to 30 minutes. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated the crystalline behavior increased with increasing time. The optical properties results showed that Al2O3 nanostructures display a relatively broad absorption spectrum across the ultraviolet region. Furthermore, the energy gap (Eg) increased from 3.44 to 3.78 eV when the immersion time increased from 1 minute to 30 minutes, respectively. Nighttime warming decreased single rice production in southern China, while silicate supply increased the yield and stress resistance. It is still unclear regarding the impacts of silicate application on the growth, yield and quality in rice under nighttime warming. A field experiment was conducted to investigate the impacts of silicate application on the growth, yield and quality during rice growing period under nighttime warming. The warming was set at two levels, that is, ambient temperature (CK) and nighttime warming (NW). The open passive nighttime warming was used in this study, that is, rice canopy was covered with aluminium foil reflective film at night (19:00–6:00). Silicate fertiliser (steel slag) was applied at two levels, that is, Si0 (0 kg SiO2·hm−2) and Si1 (200 kg SiO2·hm−2). The results indicated that, compared with the control, the average nighttime temperature on rice canopy and at 5 cm soil layer increased by 0.51°C–0.59°C and 0.28°C–0.41°C during the rice growing period, respectively. Under nighttime warming, silicate supply increased the dry weight of shoot, total dry weight of the whole plant and yield by 64.1%, 55.3% and 7.1% at the filling‐maturity stage, respectively. Silicate application significantly reduced dry matter translocation rate with 15%–18%, but significantly increased the root‐shoot ratio with 0.39–0.41 in rice. Under nighttime warming, silicate supply significantly increased milled rice rate, head rice rate and total starch content by 2.3%, 2.5% and 41.8%, respectively. Nighttime warming reduced the yield by decreasing the number of effective panicle, seed setting rate and 1000‐grain weight, but increasing empty chaff grain. Silicate supply increased the yield by increasing the number of effective panicle, filled grains per panicle, seed setting rate and 1000‐grain weight, but reducing empty chaff grain. This review delineates the mechanisms of pit nucleation and growth, establishes the foundational principles of etching technology, and presents the findings from investigations on the behavior of anodic dissolution and anodic film formation on high-purity aluminum foils for electrolytic capacitors based on electrochemical analyses and surface electron microscopic observations of etched surfaces. To elucidate pit nucleation and growth mechanisms, the effects of crystalline oxide and small amounts of lead on etching behavior were investigated. Pits initiate at cracks surrounding MgAl2O4 spinel or γ-Al2O3, resulting from the crystallization of the oxide film at metal ridges on the aluminum substrate. Using ultra-high-resolution field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), high-angle backscattered electron (BSE) images revealed the presence of lead as the bright nanoparticles, approximately 10 nm in size, at the surface oxidation layer along rolling lines attributable to pick-up inclusions during hot rolling. Pitting attacks predominantly occur in the oxidation layer owing to the less noble potential for tunnel dissolution in the initial DC etching phase. Increased titanium content within the aluminum foil accelerated hydrogen evolution in the pit and hydrous oxide formation during the cathodic half-cycle of alternating current etching. The crystallization of anodic oxide films around MgAl2O4 spinel crystals, formed in a boric acid solution, was observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). This research article aims to improve the specific capacitance of DC-etched Al foil for Al electrolytic capacitors by forming an Al2O3-TiO2 composite anodic oxide film. DC-etched Al foils for aluminum electrolytic capacitors were immersed in a TiO2 precursor sol, followed by calcination and anodizing to manufacture a TiO2-Al2O3 composite anodic oxide film. TiO2 precursor sol–gel particles after calcination were analyzed by XRD. During anodization, the anode potential with time was measured by a digital meter. A scanning electron microscope, electrochemical impedance measurements, and a general digital LCR meter were adopted to explore the microstructure and property of the anodic oxide films. The specific capacitance for the TiO2-Al2O3 composite anodic oxide film and a pure Al anodic one is 3.013 μF/cm2 and 2.435 μF/cm2 at C60V, respectively. The thickness is 87.26 nm for the former and 177.65 nm for the latter. The results show that the TiO2-Al2O3 composite anodic oxide film is about 51% thinner than the single Al anodic film, accounting for a large improvement in specific capacitance. The formation efficiency of the pretreated sample is much higher than that of the blank sample, owing to the pre-deposited TiO2 layer and thermal Al oxide layer. However, the composite anodic oxide film's specific resistance was reduced and its dielectric loss was also aggravated, resulting from the doping-introduced structural defects. A Hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) broad range associated with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies that require slightly less and constant electricity made possible by remote climate monitoring connections. Novelty demonstrates a miniature HFC based on carbon cloth electrodes and sealing elements manufactured via 3D printing. Cobalt (II) Oxide (Co3O4)—reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO) and Platinum (Pt) based nanoparticles are coated over carbon cloth to increase the catalytic activity at the anode and cathode. Hydrogen is produced by using an aluminium foil (Al) that is stored in between the filter paper and through capillary action the sodium hydroxide pellets (NaOH) are applied and reacted with Al foil to produce hydrogen. The single HFC device working surface area of 1 × 1 cm2 effectively generates an open circuit voltage (OCV) of 1.3 V, a current density of 1.602 mA/cm2, and a peak power density of 761 mW/cm2. The fuel cell stability performance is monitored for up to 10 h. The power obtained from the HFC is stored in a supercapacitor and used to supply energy to the IoT component. The results of studying instabilities in flat aluminum 4-μm-thick foils exploded using the GVP generator with a short circuit current of 10 kA and a current rise time of 350 ns are presented. The dynamics of foil destruction during the explosion was studied using laser probing. During the experiments, it was ascertained that in the presence of the two-dimensional structure of foil, the growth rates of instabilities and their nature depend on the foil orientation relative to the direction of current flow. The effect of the sweat and grease deposits (SGD) from fingerprints on the detection efficiency of trace amounts of explosive substances—triacetone triperoxide (TATP), hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD), and ammonium nitrate (AN) by ion mobility spectrometry in air at atmospheric pressure was investigated. Among the main components of SGD, urea is identified as a positive mode influencer, while lactic acid (LA) affects in a negative mode. The presence of urea or SGD in the sample does not significantly affect the detection of TATP in the positive mode but decreases the efficiency of HMTD ion formation and leads to the appearance of adduct cations of HMTD and urea. The presence of lactic acid or SGD slightly decreases the efficiency of ammonium nitrate ion formation in the negative mode and significantly alters the qualitative composition of HMTD ions, leading to the appearance of HMTD and LA adduct anions. In the absence of any impurities in the sample, the best reduced limit of detection (signal-to-noise ratio = 3σ), estimated at 30–50 pg, was observed for HMTD. The lifetime of HMTD, TATP, and AN traces on aluminum foil under laboratory conditions was determined to be 1, 3, and 12 h for samples with masses of mHMTD 1 × 10–9, 2 × 10–9, and 1 × 10–8 g and surface densities ds of 0.008, 0.016, and 0.08 μg/cm2, respectively; 102 and 103 s for mTATP 1 × 10–5 and 1 × 10–4 g and ds of 80 and 800 μg/cm2, respectively; 12 and 25 h for mAN 3 × 10–8 and 5 × 10–8 g and ds of 0.24 and 0.4 μg/cm2, respectively. The crystal violet (CV) staining technique represents a prevalent approach for the development of latent fingerprints, especially on adhesive tape surfaces. Nevertheless, the technique necessitates intricate formulations to augment its performance. In this investigation, an optimized CV staining protocol was developed, characterized by the absence of residual dye on the target substrates and the capability of facilitating fingerprint visualization under ambient light conditions. Four donors, comprising two males and two females, deposited natural fingerprints on various substrates, including glass microscope slides, aluminum foil, and 115 g glossy coated paper, without any specific guidelines. Fingerprints developed using cyanoacrylate fuming served as benchmarks and were contrasted with those generated through alternative methods: CV, ardrox, rhodamine 6G, powdering, and the optimized CV staining protocol. The fingerprint development experiment was replicated at seven distinct time intervals, encompassing 1 day, 1 week, 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, resulting in a dataset of 420 fingerprints. The evaluation of fingerprint identifiability employed a scoring system established by the Home Office Centre for Applied Science and Technology. The results indicated that the optimized CV staining technique demonstrated superior performance, boasting a 92.9% rate of identifiable fingerprint development in contrast to other employed methodologies. Consequently, this optimized CV staining approach is recommended as an efficient, rapid, and straightforward critical dyeing method, applicable to a wide array of substrates in forensic investigations. Occlusal Tactile Acuity (OTA) is the ability to detect small thicknesses between occluding teeth. Individuals diagnosed with Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) often refer an uncomfortable sensation associated with their occlusion. The aim of the current study was to measure the OTA in BMS patients, and to compare it with that of age and gender matched pain free controls. 25 BMS patients and 25 controls were enrolled. The OTA was tested with 10 different thicknesses: 9 aluminium foils (8 –72 µm with a constant increment of 8 µm) and 1 sham test (without foil), each thickness being tested 10 times in random order (100 tests in total). Significantly increased OTA was observed in the BMS group, compared to the controls group, for the foil thicknesses between 8 µm and 48 µm. Furthermore, BMS patients showed substantial impairment in the detection of the sham test, even if this finding did not reach statistically significance (P = 0.743). BMS patients presented increased ability to detect small thicknesses between antagonist teeth during intercuspation. While alkaline Zn batteries, like traditional rechargeable aqueous batteries, boast an advantage in terms of energy density, their progress has been hampered by concerns related to the anode. These concerns include issues like Zn dendrites, self‐corrosion, passivation, shape change, and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). To tackle these challenges, we have introduced a nanostructuring approach for the anode, employing carbon‐coated ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO@C) as the active material. In this study, we synthesized ZnO@C nanoparticles in an environmentally sustainable and scalable manner to address passivation and dissolution issues jointly. Nanoscale ZnO particles effectively prevent passivation, while carbon shell slows down the dissolution of zincate. The Zn anode exhibits a significant performance boost when compared to Zn foil and bare ZnO nanoparticles, even when subjected to demanding conditions (without the use of ZnO‐saturated electrolyte). In this work, graphene powder-reinforced Ti-Al metal-intermetallic laminated composite (GPEP-Ti/Al MIL composite) was designed and fabricated using the hot rolling and the vacuum hot-pressing sintering with the materials of graphene powder, titanium foil (TA1), and aluminum foil (1060 Al). The microstructure characterization of the composite was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and the transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that single-phase Al3Ti was formed at the interface between Ti layer and Al layer. And the graphene powder and pure Al can be bonded well during the preparation process. In addition, the mechanical properties of the tensile, compressive, three-point bending, and fracture toughness tests indicated that the GPEP-Ti/Al MIL composite exhibits enhanced strength and superior plasticity. Electrolytic copper foils are functional basic raw material in the electronics manufacturing industry. Due to different electrolytic process conditions (such as types of additives, current density, electrodeposition time, etc.), different microstructures will be formed during the raw foil manufacturing process, such as grain size, morphology, twinning, and texture. These microstructures are closely related to the performance of the electrolytic copper foil (ECF). Texture is one key aspect among them, as it affects various properties of ECF to a certain extent, including tensile strength, elongation, and hardness. Therefore, texture is receiving increasing research attention. This article reviews recent studies on the texture of ECF, analyzes the influence of electrolytic process conditions on the formation of texture, and explores the intrinsic relationship between texture and the mechanical properties of ECF. Aluminum (Al) and its alloys have been widely used in daily life, but the absence of antibacterial properties makes them potential vectors for bacterial transmission. In this study, an Ag-doped TiO2 coating was successfully prepared on the porous surface of etched Al foil using the sol-gel method. The results indicated that the porous layer allowed the gel to permeate through the holes, thereby forming an interface carrying these antibacterial agents with a thickness of about 10 μm. The Ag dopant promoted the transformation of titania from rutile to anatase during the calcination process, with the rutile being absent when the atomic ratio of Ag to Ti reached 0.10. Meanwhile, the doped Ag+ was thermally decomposed into metallic Ag0. As a result, doping Ag enhanced the photocatalytic efficacy of TiO2 coating. Moreover, the antibacterial rate of this coating against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus under dark conditions could reach more than 99%, and the corrosion resistance of the Al foil was also slightly improved by it.

Electromagnetic welding, also referred to as magnetic pulse welding, is a solid-state welding method utilized for joining two distinct materials through high velocity impact. The direct fusion of stainless steel with titanium poses various difficulties owing to the absence of metallurgical compatibility and the occurrence of brittle intermetallic compounds such as FeTi and CrTi. To tackle these challenges, a sustainable, low heat input method like impact welding was applied to address the metallurgical compatibility of the two metals. In this study, a new technique involving aluminum foil, silver foil, and nitinol powder as intermediary materials was investigated to establish a fresh bimetallic structure between Ti-SS304L. Thorough analysis of microstructures, interface formations, and reactions was conducted using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The outcomes showcased successful prevention of intermetallic phase formation through the incorporation of these intermediary materials. Microhardness measurements indicated the absence of brittle FeTi and CrTi phases at the welding interface. Additionally, the weld interface was observed to be situated amid two intermetallic layers at the Ti-SS304L interface, ensuring resistance against corrosion. This inventive method not only averted the creation of harmful intermetallic compounds but also bolstered the overall strength and corrosion resilience of the joint between titanium and stainless steel. The detection of nitrosamine impurities, particularly small dialkyl types, which are frequently known to be potent mutagenic carcinogens, in some Sartan group active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished drug products caused global regulatory organizations to have concerns. Accordingly, Registration Holders/Applicants, API manufacturers, and their raw material suppliers are required to check the presence of nitrosamines in their products and carry out risk assessments using the quality risk management principles specified in the ICH Q9 guide. In this context, a new LC-MS/MS method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of NDMA, NDEA, NMBA, NDIPA, NEIPA, NDBA, and MeNP nitrosamine compounds in API and finished products as well as in primary packaging materials, one of the risk sources. This validated method was applied to check the nitrosamine content may occur from canister, blister, printed aluminum foil, nasal spray, and eye drop packaging materials as part of the Extractables & Leachables studies arising from interactions between the product and the primary packaging. Common kitchen wraps like plastic and aluminum foil create significant environmental burdens. Plastic wrap, typically made from non-renewable fossil fuels, often ends up in landfills for centuries, breaking down into harmful microplastics. Aluminum foil, while effective, requires a large amount of energy to produce, and recycling it at home can be impractical due to food residue. A promising new alternative, low-nitrosamine rubber wrap film, aims to reduce waste by offering a reusable option compared to traditional single-use plastic wrap. The film is environmentally friendly, durable, and effective in sealing containers and keeping food fresh or crispy. The raw materials used to make the product were studied, namely fresh and concentrated natural rubber latex. No nitrosamines were found in either the fresh or concentrated latex, which is important as nitrosamines are known to be carcinogenic. The absence of nitrosamines in the raw materials suggests that the universal rubber wrap film is safe for use. In this study, the rubber formulation and properties of rubber used to make rubber wrap film were studied. The content of additives affecting the rubber properties was varied to find the optimum rubber formulation for making rubber wrap films. The rubber formulation with the least amount of chemicals that met the following criteria was selected: tensile strength of at least 15 MPa, elongation at break of at least 600%, and nitrosamine content below 6 ppm. It was found experimentally that the optimum rubber formulation for making a translucent rubber film had 0.7 phr zinc oxide and 1.0 phr sulfur. Performance tests revealed the rubber wrap film's superior sealing capabilities. Its elasticity allows for a tighter fit on containers, effectively conforming to various shapes and creating an optimal seal compared to plastic wrap and aluminum foil. [Display omitted] This study presents a novel Aluminium foil-based electrode characterized by its affordability, flexibility, and ease of modification with carboxylic moiety-containing organic molecules. Upon foil modification with Aluminium nanoparticles and EDTA (AlNP-EDTA/AlE), the modified electrode exhibits remarkable activity in the oxidation of lead at potentials around −0.4 V. The lead signal is derived from the oxidation of lead deposited on the electrode surface using anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The addition of EDTA to AlNP/AlE increased the anodic peak current of lead by more than 500 %. The surface characterization of the electrode was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and infrared spectroscopy (IR), while its electroactive properties were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Optimal operating parameters include pH 2.1, square-wave voltammetry (SWV) with an accumulation time of 60 s and an accumulation potential of −0.8 V. A low detection limit of 0.20 µmol/L and a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 3.0 % were achieved using five different electrodes. Over 200 samples from colourants appeared in 50 monuments in Iran dated back to the 11th century up to the 15th century were identified using micro‐X‐ray fluorescence (μ‐XRF), micro‐Raman spectroscopy (μ‐Raman), polarized light microscopy (PLM), and scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive X‐ray spectrometry (SEM‐EDS). Whereas red ochre, red lead, vermilion, and an organic red dye were identified as red colourants, ultramarine blue, azurite, and indigo were the blue colourants occurred in the wall decorations. In addition, atacamite was the only green pigment identified on the wall paintings and stucco decorations, and carbon black was identified as black pigment. We also show that gold leaf and tin foil have been used in gilding decorations. Furthermore, we were able to discern yellow ochre together with orpiment, natrojarosite, and crocoite in a number of architectural decorations. Moreover, we show that huntite and gypsum are used as white preparation layer of the wall decorations in Iran. Periods of emergence of particular pigments have been discussed and regional preferences in the use of certain pigments are argued. Aluminum foil is a typical cathode collector in lithium‐ion batteries, yet it encounters various issues, including restricted contact with the active substance, poor adhesion, and regional corrosion associated with the electrolyte. Although conventional carbon‐coated aluminum foils partially alleviate such problems, they suffer from excess weight and thickness of their carbon layers. Here a simple casting method to prepare Ketjen Black/aqueous graphene dispersion slurry modified aluminum foil (KB‐AGD‐Al‐CCs) and graphene micro‐sheets/aqueous graphene dispersion slurry modified aluminum foil (GM‐AGD‐Al‐CCs). Our results indicate that batteries utilizing graphene‐modified aluminum foils exhibited superior electrochemical performance compared with that of carbon‐coated aluminum foils. The lithium‐ion battery employing GM‐AGD‐Al‐CCs as cathode current collectors exhibits reversible specific capacities of 155, 118, and 92.5 mAh/g at current densities of 0.1, 5, and 10 C. After cycling for 1800 cycles at 5 and 10 C, its specific capacities remain at 91 and 77.5 mAh/g. Combing contact angle measurement, electrical conductivity test with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy indicates that the graphene coating decreases the contact angle between the commercial LiFePO4 and current collector, increases the electrical conductivity of the electrode and adhesion. Moreover, the inclusion of GM and KB as conductive additives compensates for graphene's low interlayer conductivity by forming a conductive network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Facing increasing electromagnetic radiation pollution, soft sensors with electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding is highly desirable. Here, flexible electromagnetic shielding [polyacrylonitrile/Fe3O4/polyaniline]//[multiwalled carbon nanotube/polyvinyl pyrrolidone] (denoted [PAN/Fe3O4/PANI]//[MWCNT/PVP]) Janus membrane is reported for pressure and sliding sensing. The [PAN/Fe3O4/PANI] layer of Janus membrane as the force and sliding sensing unit can generate direct current‐type (DC‐type) voltage signals by conducting polymer/metal Schottky junction, whereas [MWCNT/PVP] layer serves as main electromagnetic shielding unit. Under the vertical force and horizontal sliding of aluminum (Al) foil, it can output DC‐type voltage signals based on the Schottky contact. The performance of [PAN/Fe3O4/PANI]//[MWCNT/PVP] Janus membrane for pressure and sliding sensing is appropriately explored and assessed. Moreover, the Janus membrane exhibits excellent shielding effects with average EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of 37.54 dB in 8.2–12.4 GHz (X‐Band) frequency ranges. Thus, based on the asymmetrical double‐layer structure, soft DC‐type sensor with EMI shielding is achieved, showing utilization potential in wearable electronics and intelligent robots. This research was conducted to study upgrading bio-crude oil (BCO) produced by pyrolysis of palm oil without the use of a catalyst, using protonated zeolite-Y designated as H-Y. Preparation of H-Y was carried out by subjecting zeolite-Y synthesized from rice husk silica (RHS) and food grade aluminium foil (FGAF) to a cation exchange process using ammonium nitrate solution with different concentrations of 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 M to obtain (H-Y) samples with different protonation extents. To confirm the formation of Na-Y, the sample was characterized using XRD and SEM, and to evaluate the protonation, the Na-Y and H-Y samples were analyzed using XRF. Characterization using XRD showed that the Na-Y sample is faujasite, which is the characteristic phase of zeolite-Y, and supported by the existence of particles with octahedral structure as seen by SEM. Successful protonation resulted in a reduction of Na content up to 89.948% from that of the Na-Y, which was demonstrated by the XRF results. Catalytic upgrading experiments demonstrated that H-Y zeolites functioned to increase the bio-hydrocarbon content from 80.23% in the BCO to practically 100% in the upgraded oil. In addition, no acids were identified in the upgraded fuels, implying that H-Y zeolite is a promising catalyst for BCO upgrading for bio-hydrocarbon enrichment of the oil. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To characterize an electron beam, visible synchrotron light is often used and dedicated beamlines at synchrotron sources are becoming a more common feature as instruments and methods for the diagnostics are, along with the accelerators, further developed. At KARA (Karlsruhe Research Accelerator), such a beamline exists and is based on a typical infrared/visible-light configuration. From experience at such beamlines no significant radiation was expected (dose rates larger than 0.5 µSv h-1). This was found not to be the case and a higher dose was measured which fortunately could be shielded to an acceptable level with 0.3 mm of aluminium foil or 2.0 mm of Pyrex glass. The presence of this radiation led to further investigation by both experiment and calculation. A custom setup using a silicon drift detector for energy-dispersive spectroscopy (Ketek GmbH) and attenuation experiments showed the radiation to be predominantly copper K-shell fluorescence and is confirmed by calculation. The measurement of secondary radiation from scattering of synchrotron and other radiation, and its calculation, is important for radiation protection, and, although a lot of experience exists and methods for radiation protection are well established, changes in machine, beamlines and experiments mean a constant appraisal is needed. BACKGROUND: This study was undertaken to determine the amount and type of microplastics in different milk samples. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sample collection was done from branded, dairy, and directly from the cow shed and was then transferred to a conical flask. Containers were wrapped with aluminum foil to avoid contamination of the samples. A total of 100 mL of 5% sodium chloride solution was added to 200 mL of milk sample, rotated for 2 min, and was kept to undergo density separation for 15 min in a water bath. Whatman filter paper Grade I of pore size 11 µm is used for filtration. The samples were filtered using a vacuum filtration setup with a vacuum pressure of 0.5 bar pressure and stored in clean Petri dishes. These were kept in a hot air oven for drying at 60°C for 3 h and at room temperature for 24 h for complete drying of the filter paper. RESULTS: Fourier transform infrared analyses determined that the polystyrene type of microplastics was higher, showing red, blue, violet, and green colors by microscopic analysis. CONCLUSION: Three categories of milk samples (branded, dairy, and cowshed) were taken and analyzed, the results showed more microplastics in branded milk packets than in dairy and fresh cowshed milk samples which are lower than other food products. Surface acoustic wave spectroscopy has been established as non‐destructive and fast method for characterization of mechanical properties of surfaces and bulk materials in both research and industry. The present work shows that by application of a novel and robust aluminum nitride (AlN) coated piezoelectric contact sensor the advantages of the method can be extended from room temperature to at least 600°C. An overview of sensor concepts and applications of the method is discussed first, followed by theoretical and practical considerations for design and coating of a novel temperature stable contact sensor. After fabrication of such a sensor using magnetron sputtering, it was tested in a modified surface acoustic wave spectroscopy setup with an incorporated heating table concerning signal amplitude and frequency range. The AlN coated sensor was found to perform well up to 600°C, with temperature limited by the specification of the heating table. At room temperature, performance was acceptable when compared with a conventional contact sensor using a PVDF piezoelectric foil. Application of the high temperature capabilities of the setup was demonstrated by measuring temperature stability of hydrogen‐free amorphous carbon coatings (a‐C and ta‐C) depending on their sp3 carbon ratio. In another example, high precision temperature dependent measurement of Young's modulus for ultrasonic fatigue test specimen was taken, achieving an accuracy better than 1%. Friction stir lap welding experiments between 6061 aluminum alloy plate and DP590 dual-phase steel plate were carried out. The effects of welding parameters and addition of Ni foil interlayers with different thickness on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the lap joints were investigated. The shear strength of the joint reached the maximum value of 6597 N and showed a mixed ductile-brittle fracture mode when the welding speed, the rotating speed and the thickness of the Ni foil intermediate layer were set to 100 mm/min, 900 rpm and 0.3 mm, respectively. A certain amount of beneficial plastic AlNi and FeNi3 intermetallic compounds are formed through the reaction of Al, Fe and Ni at the aluminum alloy/steel interface. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Takeaway food has become a prominent component of the diet in urban areas of China, especially for young people. Although dietary intake is a major pathway to contaminants for human exposure, studies on emerging organophosphite antioxidants (OPAs) and organophosphate esters (OPEs) in food are scarce. Here, we investigated four OPAs and 19 OPEs in takeaway foods (n = 99) and paired takeaway food packaging (n = 50) in China. AO168=O (mean: 14.9 ng/g ww), TPPO (mean: 1.05 ng/g ww), and TCIPP (mean: 0.579 ng/g ww) were dominant in the takeaway food. Some OPEs had significant correlations in takeaway food. Emerging OPAs and OPEs in takeaway food varied significantly depending on the packaging materials and food types. AO168 and AO168=O were widespread in the paired takeaway food packaging. The migration efficiencies of emerging OPAs and OPEs were low in takeaway food packaged in aluminum foil. Although the actual contamination of emerging OPAs and OPEs in takeaway food significantly differed from those of in food simulants migrated from paired takeaway food packaging, the results imply that food itself and takeaway food packaging are potential contamination sources of emerging OPAs and OPEs in takeaway food. The average estimated dietary intakes of emerging OPAs and OPEs were 465 ng/kg body weight (bw)/day and 91.9 ng/kg bw/day, respectively. Achievement of lithium (Li) metal anode with thin thickness (e.g., ≤ 30 µm) is highly desirable for rechargeable high energy density batteries. However, the fabrication and application of such thin Li metal foil electrode remain challenging due to the poor mechanical processibility and inferior electrochemical performance of metallic Li. Here, mechanico-chemical synthesis of robust ultrathin Li/Li3P (LLP) composite foils (∼ 15 µm) is demonstrated by employing repeated mechanical rolling/stacking operations using red P and metallic Li as raw materials. The in-situ formed Li+-conductive Li3P nanoparticles in metallic Li matrix and their tight bonding strengthen the mechanical durability and enable the successful fabrication of free-standing ultrathin Li metal composite foil. Besides, it also reduces the electrochemical Li nucleation barrier and homogenizes Li plating/stripping behavior. When matching to high-voltage LiCoO2, the full cell with a low negative/positive (N/P) capacity ratio of ∼ 1.5 offers a high energy density of ∼ 522 W·h·kg−1 at 0.5 C based on the mass of cathode and anode. Taking into account its facile manufacturing, potentially low cost, and good electrochemical performance, we believe that such an ultrathin composite Li metal foil design with nanoparticle-dispersion-strengthened mechanism may boost the development of high energy density Li metal batteries. Solar powered grain drying machines (PGTM) have advantages over fossil energy, namely they are cheap and simple. However, the main obstacle is the dependence on time and weather. To overcome these weaknesses, it is necessary to create a combined system, namely, a solar and PGTL electric drying system. This machine works during the day and continues at night using electric power. This will speed up the grain drying process without having to wait for the sun to rise. The method of supplying electrical power in the drying room is carried out directly with incandescent lamps installed on the drying racks. The amount of electrical power provided to the lamp is equivalent to the average solar energy during the day that enters the drying room, which is 400 Watts. The drying room used for research has an area of 0.9 x 1 meter and a height of 1.7 meters and is equipped with 5 shelves for placing the grain. The hot air flow in the drying room is used by a blower at 2 speeds, namely 4, 7 and 10 m/sec. The walls of the drying room are covered with aluminum foil to increase the efficiency of lamp heat absorption that can be received by the grain. The performance of an electric grain dryer (PGTL) is expressed in terms of drying efficiency or reduction in water content in the grain (Mw) and machine efficiency, ηpgel. The test was carried out at night for 5 hours with a total amount of grain of 8 kg divided into 4 shelves of 2 kg each. From the test results of the PGTL machine, it was found that the reduction in water content in grain (Mw) at air speeds of 4 m/s, 7 m/s and 10 m/s, respectively, was 7.45%, 7.9%, 9.45%, and machine efficiency respectively 20.1, 21.1% and 25.45%. A composite material composed of anodized aluminum oxide (AAO), carbon (C), and magnesium oxide (MgO) was developed for CO2 capture applications. Inspired by the bryophyte organism, the AAO/C/MgO composite mirrors two primary features of these species—(1) morphological characteristics and (2) elemental composition—specifically carbon, oxygen, and magnesium. The synthesis process involved two sequential steps: electroanodization of aluminum foil followed by a hydrothermal method using a mixture of glucose and magnesium chloride (MgCl2). The concentration of MgCl2 was systematically varied as the sole experimental variable across five levels—1 mM, 2 mM, 3 mM, 4 mM, and 5 mM—to investigate the impact of MgO formation on the samples' chemical and physical properties, and consequently, their CO2 capture efficiency. Thus, scanning electron microscopy analysis revealed the AAO substrate's porous structure, with pore diameters measuring 250 ± 30 nm. The growth of MgO on the AAO substrate resulted in spherical structures, whose diameter expanded from 15 nm ± 3 nm to 1000 nm ± 250 nm with increasing MgCl2 concentration from the minor to major concentrations explored, respectively. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis indicated that carbon serves as a linking agent between AAO and MgO within the composite. Notably, the composite synthesized with a 4 mM MgCl2 concentration exhibited the highest CO2 capture efficiency, as determined by UV-Vis absorbance studies using a sodium carbonate solution as the CO2 source. This efficiency was quantified with a 'k' constant of 0.10531, significantly higher than those of other studied samples. The superior performance of the 4 mM MgCl2 sample in CO2 capture is likely due to the optimal density of MgO structures formed on the sample's surface, enhancing its adsorptive capabilities as suggested by the XPS results. This study aims to explore the potential application of hollow glass beads (HGB) compounded with graphene oxide (GO, HGB@GO) to improve the mechanical properties of rigid polyurethane foam (RPUF). This HGB@GO/RPUF composite is considered a potential filler for reinforcing aluminum honeycomb (AH). A characterization of the chemical structure and surface morphology of HGB@GO was conducted, as well as the analysis of its effect on the compression properties of the foam. The compressive strength of HGB@GO/RPUF (4 wt. %) is 146.17% higher than that of pure RPUF. This study also compared the deformation modes of AH and foam-filled honeycomb (F-AH) structure under axial crushing. The interaction effects between the foam and AH were also analyzed. The results indicated that the RPUF improves the compressive capacity and deformation stability of the AH through its good compression properties and interaction with the aluminum foil. The use of HGB@GO/RPUF further enhances the energy absorption characteristics of the F-AH. In comparison with the pure RPUF-AH, the total and specific energy absorption of the HGB@GO/RPUF (4 wt. %)-AH increase by 74.65% and 44.98%, respectively. This work demonstrates that the prepared HGB@GO can enhance the mechanical properties of RPUF, and HGB@GO/RPUF-AH is expected to be a desirable energy-absorbing device. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metallic Foil Friction Stir Welding (MFFSW) was newly developed from the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technique. Magnesium (Mg) alloys were the most trending alloys in the aerospace, automobile, and biomedical industries. This study aims to investigate the variation in mechanical, corrosive, microstructural, and fractographic properties of MFFSW as a process innovation when compared with FSW. The metallic foil of pure manganese (Mn) with a thickness of 500 μm was inserted between two AZ61 Mg alloys. The tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness were noted as mechanical properties of the output. Potentiodynamic corrosion tests were performed to reveal the corrosion properties. An optical microscope was used to examine a distinct transverse section of the weld. Fractography tests with scanning electron microscopic analysis were conducted on destructive tensile specimens. The ultimate tensile strength, impact energy, yield strength, and microhardness increased to 16%, 32%, 12%, and 19.17%, respectively, compared to FSW. MMFSW shows a lower elongation of up to 33% than FSW. MMFSW (9.61 mm/A) shows a lower corrosion rate than FSW (11.02 mm/A), which employs improved corrosion properties. Optical microscopy images of the stir zone in both MFFSW and FSW revealed that adding a Mn alloying element improved grain growth uniformity and eliminated unexpected grain growth patterns. Hence, the experiment's conclusion shows that MFFSW has the edge over FSW for mechanical and corrosion properties. Thus, the Mn strip improves the properties of MFFSW. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Energy that can be obtained from natural resources and constantly replenished by nature is called "renewable energy". To harness solar energy and convert it into electricity, a device known as a solar panel is utilized. However, solar panels encounter certain drawbacks, including reduced efficiency as the panel temperature rises and the partial absorption of sunlight due to its reflection by the top glass layer. This study aims to optimize solar panel efficiency by innovatively integrating a cooling system with water treatments and an aluminum foil reflector to enhance energy output. The study focused on a 700 mm × 510 mm × 30 mm monocrystalline solar panel. Initial efficiency improved significantly after implementing the cooling and reflector system. Based on measurement data, incorporating the reflector, revealed an average temperature of 61.3°C and solar radiation of 871.10 W/m². The cooling duration of 40.64 seconds was achieved with a water pump flow rate of 0.29 lt/s. Notably, the combined approach yielded substantial efficiency enhancements, with the solar panel reaching peak efficiency levels of 10.36%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The insulation status of oil-impregnated paper (OIP) bushings directly indicates their operational condition. Damp defects constitute the primary factor contributing to the deterioration of oil-paper insulation. In this paper, the overall moisture distribution of capacitor cores with three damp defects (steady-state, transient, anzd tail moisture damp defect) and its effect on the electric field were studied. A moisture diffusion model for OIP bushing was established based on Finite Element Method (FEM) software, and it was also verified by moisture diffusion experiments. Then, the overall moisture distribution of the capacitor core under three damp defects was investigated. The findings indicate significant variation in the overall moisture distribution of the capacitor core influenced by factors such as aluminum foil and temperature. Furthermore, the relative permittivity of the oilimpregnated paper was computed. Subsequently, the impact of various moisture-induced defects on the electric field was determined. Simulation results unveiled distortion in the electric field of each electrode within the capacitor core. Specifically, the electric field of the zero electrode increased, while that of the outermost electrode decreased in all three damp defect scenarios. Sintered foils are currently being considered as a promising material for anode foils in capacitors due to their high specific capacitance and anti-buckling performance, which meet the requirements for capacitor winding. In this article, sintered foils with added starch were produced using a protective atmosphere sintering process. The effect of starch addition in the range of 0–50 vol% on the specific capacitance and anti-buckling performance of the sintered foils was evaluated. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis confirmed the formation of the pores in the sintered foils due to the addition of starch. These pores play a crucial role in improving the specific capacitance and enhancing the anti-buckling performance of the sintered foils. However, excessive amounts of starch can have a negative impact on the specific capacitance of the sintered foils which initially decreased, then increased, and finally decreased with increasing starch content. On the other hand, the anti-buckling performance increased with increasing starch content. At 30 vol% starch addition, a high specific capacitance of 0.886 μF/cm2 and an anti-buckling performance of more than 120 times were obtained, meeting the requirements for anode foils in aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The specific capacitance of the sintered foils was predicted using the close-packed packing model, which can help establish a powder metallurgy method for preparing anode foil materials with high specific capacitance and anti-buckling performance for aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The paper deals with technology of manufacturing of microwave absorbers with ordered and structured surface layer. This layer contains Möbius strip resonators, located on the fixed distance from each other. The technology was developed by the authors on the base of the following data: 1) results of theoretical study of microwaves interaction with Möbius strip resonator; 2) results of experimental study of electromagnetic radiation reflection, transmission and absorption coefficients in the microwave frequency range of the experimental samples of microwave absorbers based on Möbius strip resonators, which differ by the distance between these resonators. It was established on the base to the listed results that the microwave absorbers manufactured in accordance to the technology proposed by the authors are wideband ones. Electromagnetic radiation absorption coefficient values of these absorbers changes from 0.5 to 0.97 in frequency range 2.0–17.0 GHz if the distance between the Möbius strip resonators containing in their surface layer, is 15.0 mm. If the distance between the Möbius strip resonators containing in the surface layer of the considered absorbers is less than 15.0 mm their electromagnetic radiation absorption coefficient in the indicated frequency bands is lower than presented values. The considered absorbers are promising for use in shielded rooms and anechoic chambers.

This article discusses the progress made in the enantioselective total synthesis of γ-rubromycin, a Streptomyces antibiotic. The researchers previously reported a successful photoirradiation method using a chiral, non-racemic 1,2-naphthoquinone to produce an enantioenriched spiroacetal. However, in their latest study, they found that the viability of the photochemical reaction depended on the chromophore structure of the quinones. They also observed that the color of the quinones correlated with their reactivity, with yellow or orange quinones being reactive and red or dark red-purple quinones being unreactive. The study focuses on transforming Sajor-caju mushrooms into snack foods through frying and flavoring. The main objective is to examine how different packaging formats impact the quality of seasoned fried mushroom products. The process involves steaming and drying the mushrooms until the moisture content is below 6 %. Subsequently, the mushrooms are fried in a vacuum fryer at 115 °C under a vacuum pressure of 620 mm Hg for 5 min. The mushrooms obtained were developed into herb-flavored fried mushrooms according to the recipe and method from the model farm project, Than To District, Yala Province of Thailand. The products were packed in 3 different packaging formats; in PP bags (control sample), in polypropylene plastic bags containing oxygen absorber (PP+O2 absorber), and in aluminum foil bags (AL), stored at room temperature, 29±2 °C for 90 days. The study revealed that different packaging formats resulted in the seasoned fried mushroom product in the color value (L* a* b*), aw value, moisture content, TBA value, total microbial and fungal counts, and sensory acceptance score (p < 0.05) with statistical significance. From the results, it could be concluded that packing in polypropylene plastic bags could store the product for 30 days, and products packed in PP+O2 absorber could maintain an acceptable sensory quality similar to the one newly prepared for up to 45 days. Packing in aluminum foil bags was the most suitable packing format. It could maintain the product quality in physical, chemical, microbial, and sensory properties for up to 75 days while the product still conformed to the Community Product Standard (303/2004). Flexible CdTe solar cells integrated onto polyimide foils are a promising renewable power generation technology. Optimizing crystal structure and reducing grain boundary recombination by CdCl 2 annealing are the key approaches to increase carrier concentration and improve device performance. However, the inherent thermal constraints of polyimide substrates limit the feasibility of achieving full annealing. In response, we introduce a novel two-stage annealing process: a primary recrystallization at 350 °C followed by a secondary recrystallization at 380 °C. Employing a rigorous investigation of surface and interface energy minimization, strain energy minimization, and the growth kinetics of Cl drag phenomena, this method induces significant secondary grain growth, surpassing the film thickness itself. The culmination of these efforts yields an extraordinary power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 12.2 %, marking a historic achievement for sputtered CdTe solar cells on polyimide substrates. This study not only unveils a pioneering approach to grain boundary engineering but also offers insights into optimizing the CdCl 2 annealing process for CdTe absorbers, ultimately facilitating the realization of high-efficiency, flexible CdTe solar cells. Next‐generation, high‐efficiency energy storage and conversion systems require development of lithium metal batteries. But the high cost of production and constraints on thickness of lithium (anode) foils continue to limit adoption for integration into battery cell architectures. Here, a novel lithium anode manufacturing solution is demonstrated – single‐step production of ultrathin gauge foil formats directly from solid ingot. Hybrid cutting‐based deformation processes, involving large plastic strains and strain rates, produce foil to sub‐10 µm thickness, with surface quality even superior to present Li anode processing routes. Energy analysis shows the single‐stage processing is ≈50% more efficient than conventional processing by extrusion‐rolling. Through in situ force measurements and high‐speed imaging of the cutting it also characterize – for the first time – the flow stress of Li to strain rates of 800 sec−1, revealing a power‐law relationship. This study centers on indium‐ion solid‐state batteries. Indium is a soft metal that provides excellent adhesion and does not generate dendrites during the charge–discharge process. The solid‐state electrolyte material, sodium‐based silicate, is an environmentally friendly material that offers better thermal stability compared to liquid electrolytes and reduces packaging requirements. The positive electrode material, a graphite film (GF), features a layered structure, enabling the stable insertion and extraction of ions. In this experiment, graphite film doped sodium phosphate (GFN) are used as positive electrodes, sodium‐based silicate powder through cloth deposition (battery cloth deposition [BCD]) is used as the electrolyte and indium is used as the negative electrode. To improve the low capacity of indium electrodes, indium is alloyed with silver and prepared by thermal evaporation method. The results show that the In‐30Ag with Cu substrate (weight ratio of In‐30 wt.% Ag) exhibits higher cycling capacity (61 mAhg−1). To further increase the capacity, the substrate of In‐30Ag is replaced from copper foil to aluminum foil. According to result, the capacity of In‐30Ag with Al substrate (91 mAhg−1) exhibits 1.6 times higher compared to In‐30Ag with Cu substrate. However, In‐30Ag with Al substrate after vacuum heat treatment, the thin film exhibits melting and agglomeration, leading to a decrease in capacity. Thus, the unheated In‐30Ag (Al substrate)/2×BCD/GFN system is subjected to large‐area module testing using an industrial fan as the load, confirming its practical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
