Canine oral lymphoma is an infrequently diagnosed malignancy in dogs and reports in the literature are lacking. Most cases are due to epitheliotropic lymphoma, in which lesions are often multifocal and involve the skin as well as the oral cavity. Epitheliotropic lymphoma is an uncommon form of lymphoma that is characterized by neoplastic T-lymphocyte tropism for epithelial tissues. However, not all cases of oral lymphoma are due to epitheliotropic lymphoma, and B-cell disease is also possible. This article describes very different cases of oral lymphoma in dogs including the history at presentation, examination and radiographic findings, treatments, and outcomes. This case report describes a woman who developed involuntary, uncoordinated movements of her face and limbs following a spontaneous vaginal delivery, complicated by postpartum haemorrhage. Using systematic assessment with multidisciplinary team input, a differential diagnosis was proposed and relevant investigations were undertaken. Atypical eclamptic or generalised seizures were excluded clinically and neuroimaging ruled out an intracranial vascular event such as stroke or venous sinus thrombosis. Local anaesthetic systemic toxicity was managed empirically with intravenous lipid emulsion and intravenous fluids. A diagnosis of drug-induced dyskinesia was made, most likely secondary to ondansetron, with which dystonias and myoclonus have been described. This woman’s symptoms were transient and resolved within 2 hours. This case presented a complex differential diagnosis, highlighting the paucity of guidance available. We propose a diagnostic algorithm to aid in the identification of acute involuntary movements in pregnancy and the puerperium. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Three distinct routes are reported to the soluble, dihydridoaluminate compounds, AM[Al(NONDipp)(H)2] (AM=Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs; [NONDipp]2−=[O(SiMe2NDipp)2]2−; Dipp=2,6‐iPr2C6H3) starting from the alkali metal aluminyls, AM[Al(NONDipp)]. Direct H2 hydrogenation of the heavier analogues (AM=Rb, Cs) produced the first examples of structurally characterized rubidium and caesium dihydridoaluminates, although harsh conditions were required for complete conversion. Using 1,4‐cyclohexadiene (1,4‐CHD) as an alternative hydrogen source in transfer hydrogenation reactions provided a lower energy pathway to the full series of products for AM=Li−Cs. A further moderation in conditions was noted for the thermal decomposition of the (silyl)(hydrido)aluminates, AM[Al(NONDipp)(H)(SiH2Ph)]. Probing the reaction of Cs[Al(NONDipp)] with 1,4‐CHD provided access to a novel inverse sandwich complex, [{Cs(Et2O)}2{Al(NONDipp)(H)}2(C6H6)], containing the 1,4‐dialuminated [C6H6]2− dianion and representing the first time that an intermediate in the commonly utilized oxidation process of 1,4‐CHD to benzene has been trapped. The synthetic utility of the newly installed Al−H bonds has been demonstrated by their ability to reduce CO2 under mild conditions to form the bis‐formate AM[Al(NONDipp)(O2CH)2] compounds, which exhibit a diverse series of eyecatching bimetallacyclic structures. Bacterial meningitis is a catastrophic nervous system disorder with high mortality and wide range of morbidities. Some of the meningitis-causing bacteria occupy cholesterol dependent cytolysins (CDCs) to increase their pathogenicity and arrange immune-evasion strategy. Studies have observed that the relationship between CDCs and pathogenicity in these meningitides is complex and involves interactions between CDC, blood-brain barrier (BBB), glial cells and neurons. In BBB, these CDCs acts on capillary endothelium, tight junction (TJ) proteins and neurovascular unit (NVU). CDCs also observed to elicit intriguing effects on brain inflammation which involves microglia and astrocyte activations, along with neuronal damage as the end-point of pathological pathways in bacterial meningitis. As some studies mentioned potential advantage of CDC-targeted therapeutic mechanisms to combat CNS infections, it might be a fruitful avenue to deepen our understanding of CDC as a candidate for adjuvant therapy to combat bacterial meningitis. Early appearance of neutralizing antibodies during acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is associated with spontaneous viral clearance. However, the longitudinal changes in antigen-specific memory B cell (MBCs) associated with divergent HCV infection outcomes remain undefined. We characterized longitudinal changes in E2 glycoprotein-specific MBCs from subjects who either spontaneously resolved acute HCV infection or progressed to chronic infection, using single-cell RNA-seq and functional assays. HCV-specific antibodies in plasma from chronically infected subjects recognized multiple E2 genotypes, while those from spontaneous resolvers exhibited variable cross-reactivity to heterotypic E2. E2-specific MBCs from spontaneous resolvers peaked early after infection (4-6 months), following expansion of activated circulating T follicular helper cells (cTfh) expressing interleukin 21. In contrast, E2-specific MBCs from chronically infected subjects, enriched in VH1-69, expanded during persistent infection (> 1 year), in the absence of significantly activated cTfh expansion. Early E2- specific MBCs from spontaneous resolvers produced monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) with fewer somatic hypermutations and lower E2 binding but similar neutralization as mAbs from late E2-specific MBCs of chronically infected subjects. The activation of dinitrogen (N2) by transition metals is central to the highly energy intensive, heterogeneous Haber–Bosch process. Considerable progress has been made towards more sustainable homogeneous activations of N2 with d‐ and f‐block metals, though little success has been had with main group metals. Here we report that the reduction of a bulky magnesium(II) amide [(TCHPNON)Mg] (TCHPNON=4,5‐bis(2,4,6‐tricyclohexylanilido)‐2,7‐diethyl‐9,9‐dimethyl‐xanthene) with 5 % w/w K/KI yields the magnesium‐N2 complex [{K(TCHPNON)Mg}2(μ‐N2)]. DFT calculations and experimental data show that the dinitrogen unit in the complex has been reduced to the N22− dianion, via a transient anionic magnesium(I) radical. The compound readily reductively activates CO, H2 and C2H4, in reactions in which it acts as a masked dimagnesium(I) diradical. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
