In order to study the seismic behavior of the semi-rigid connection steel frame and low yield point (LYP) steel plate shear walls (SPSW) with two-side connections, a one-third scale, one-bay and two-story specimen of semi-rigid connection steel frame LYPSPSW with two-side connections was tested under the quasi-static loading to determine some seismic properties, including load-carrying capacity, stiffness, envelop curves, and energy dissipation. The results show that the specimen exhibits excellent ductility and energy dissipation capacity. The cooperative work between the frame and the LYP steel plate shear wall is improved. Full-height channel steel, which provides the anchoring effect of infilled steel plates, increases the effective lateral area of general SPSW with two-side connections. Buckling-restrained element improves the force condition of steel panels, increases load-carrying capacity and the stiffness of structure, and reduces the pinching shape in hysteretic loops which is another shortcoming of SPSW with two-side connections. The research provides a reference for theoretical analysis and engineering application of the structural system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
