Diagnosis. Tuponia hippophaes, the type species of the subgenus Chlorotuponia, is recognized by the following combination of characters: dorsally uniformly green (Fig. 1A) or with minute green round spots, with paler whitish areas along anterior four fifths of exocorium, inner angle of corium and basal margin of cuneus; body length 2.0– 3.4 mm in males, 2.0– 2.9 mm in females (in Romanian specimens: 2.6–3.0 mm in males, 2.3–2.6 mm in females); body elongate with parallel sides in males, more ovate in females; ocular index 1.1–1.8 in males, 2.4–3.0 in females; labium reaching between meso- and metacoxae or slightly surpassing the latter; male genitalia (Figs. 2A–E): parameres and phallotheca not surpassing apex of genital capsule (Fig. 2A); right paramere (Fig. 2B) short, ovoid, apically truncate; left paramere (Fig. 2C) with short, pointed sensory lobe and very elongate apical process; phallotheca (Fig. 2D) apically straight; vesica (Figs. 2E–F) J-shaped, with secondary gonopore in subapical position and with three apical processes, one very elongate, lanceolate, distinctly surpassing apex, the other two finger-like, shorter, slightly surpassing apex. Carapezza (1997) studied the clinal variability of the three apical vesical processes in the whole geographic range of the species; in Romanian specimens their relative lengths correspond to the arrangement commonly found in Balkan Peninsula. Similar in color pattern to T. prasina but differing from it in the more elongate body, brighter dorsal green, tibial spines not arising from basal dark dots, lower ocular index, genital capsule (Fig. 2A) apically distinctly bending to the right, differently shaped parameres, vesica with well sclerotized secondary gonopore and sclerotized apical blades. Distribution and biology. Holomediterranean element, widely distributed in Southern Europe, North Africa and Middle East, including Iran; in the last twenty years its original range, which included also the area of the Alps in Central Europe (southern Germany, Switzerland) has extended northwards to Central and Northern Europe (Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, United Kingdom), probably as a consequence of global warming and of the increased popularity of Tamarix, extensively introduced as ornamental plants along the coasts and in inland gardens of Central and North European countries (Bryja & Kment 2002; Rabitsch 2002; Baugnée & Chérot 2004; Kment 2004; Telfer 2019). The species lives on Myricaria germanica, Reaumuria vermiculata and various species of Tamarix (Tamaricaceae) (Hoberlandt 1956; Tamanini 1964; Wagner 1975; Drapolyuk 1982; Carapezza, 1997; Linnavuori 2010). In Romania, based on available data so far, T. hippophaes is the single species of the genus still active at the end of summer. The presence of adults over the span of four months (June–September) indicates that the species is probably bi- or multivoltine in Romania. Discussion. This is the first record for Romania. Distribution in Romania is shown in Fig. 3. Considering that our survey revealed that T. hippophaes is the most widespread and commonest Tuponia species in Romania, it is rather surprising that it had never been recorded from the country. A possible explanation is that in the past it was overlooked and misidentified as T. prasina, on the wrong assumption that all green Tuponia in Romania belonged to that species. An alternative explanation could be that T. hippophaes has reached Romania recently, either by natural range expansion or accidental introduction., Published as part of Carapezza, Attilio & Rădac, Ioan Alexandru, 2021, The genus Tuponia Reuter, 1875 in Romania, with two new synonymies (Heteroptera: Miridae), pp. 59-76 in Zootaxa 5023 (1) on pages 61-62, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5023.1.3, http://zenodo.org/record/5225491, {"references":["Fieber, F. Tuponia (Tuponia) arcufera Reuter, 1879 (Figs. 4A, 5 A–G, 9) Material examined: ROMANIA: Buzău County: Policiori, 45.341594°N 26.665040°E, 20.vi.2017, 1 ♂ 6 ♀♀, on Tamarix sp.; Vrancea County: Focșani, 45.744303°N 27.201451°E, 22.vii.2019, 1 ♂, on Tamarix sp. Diagnosis. Tuponia arcufera is recognized by the following combination of characters: dorsally (Fig. 4A) whitish-yellow with more or less intense orange areas in mesoscutum, anterior part of scutellum, and sometimes with a large transverse band across apices of clavus and corium; body length 2.8–3.8 mm in males, 3.5–4.0 mm in females; body elongate ovate in both sexes; ocular index 1.4–1.6 in males, 1.7–1.9 in females; male genitalia (Figs. 5A–G): right paramere (Fig. 5A) elongate, narrow, apically truncate; left paramere (Figs. 5B–C) broad, with very small sensory lobe and pointed apical process; phallotheca (Figs. 5D–E) with subapical blunt tooth and two preapical vaguely semicircular lamellate keels; vesica (Figs. 5F–G) with subapical secondary gonopore located at the bifurcation of the two apical processes, the lower one strongly sclerotized, lanceolate, shorter than the upper one, the latter mostly membranous, equipped with a basal hump clothed with minute spinules and dorsally serrate. Due to the variability in dorsal color pattern of T. arcufera, specimens with weakly contrasting colors (as in Fig. 4A) are very similar to T. montandoni from which they can be distinguished only by characters of male genitalia, in particular the elongate and apically truncate right paramere, phallotheca with two preapical keels and differently shaped apical part of vesica (this can be appreciated comparing figs. 5F–G and 8F–G). Distribution and biology. Euro-Central Asian element known from Spain, southern France, northern Italy, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Moldavia, Ukraine, south of European Russia, Turkey, Transcaucasia, Iran, Central Asia, Mongolia, north-western and north-eastern China (Kerzhner & Josifov 1999; Konstantinov 2016; Aukema 2018– 2021). The species lives on Myricaria germanica, and various species of Tamarix (Wagner 1975; Tamanini 1982; Drapolyuk 1980; Linnavuori 2010). Comment. This is the first record for Romania. Souh America: Brazil: Amazonas (PEREIRA & MELO 2007, MOREIRA et al. 2011, CORDEIRO et al. 2014), Minas Gerais (NIESER & MELO 1997, VIANNA & MELO 2003, MELO & NIESER 2004, SOUZA et al. 2006, MOREIRA et al. 2011, CORDEIRO et al. 2014); Colombia (DRAKE 1952); Ecuador (SCHELL 1943 a, NIESER & CHEN 1992, CIANFERONI 2012); Paraguay (SCHELL 1943a); Peru (SCHELL 1943 a, DRAKE 1952); Suriname (NIESER 1975); Venezuela (POLHEMUS & POLHEMUS 2016). Notes. GUÉRIN- MÉNEVILLE (1843) dedicated the species to its collector, M. Perbosc, using the latinized form of his name (Perboscius, stem perbosci -) to form the name as O. perboscii, which is the correct original spelling of the name. The name was cited as O. perboscii at least five times (for references see above) until KIRKALDY & TORRE BUENO (1909), with a single exception of CHAMPION (1901). CHAMPION (1901), MONTANDON (1910), and all subsequent authors (for 27 additional references see above) used the incorrect subsequent spelling of the name, O. perbosci (see ICZN 1999: Art. 32.1–3, 33.3, 33.4). In this case the Article 33.3.1 (ICZN 1999) applies in favour of O. perbosci: ‘when an incorrect subsequent spelling is in prevailing usage and is attributed to the publication of the original spelling, the subsequent spelling and attribution are to be preserved and the spelling is deemed to be a correct original spelling.’ We recognize O. perbosci as being in prevailing usage and therefore the correct original spelling in the sense of ICZN (1999). GUÉRIN- MÉNEVILLE (1843) described the species based on unknown number of specimens and without information on their depository. CHAMPION (1901) wrote that: ‘The type of this insect was obtained by us from the Sallé collection’. CIANFERONI (2012) specified the sex of the specimen, incorrectly labelled as holotype, as male. Using the term ‘the type’ for the syntype he used for definition of the taxon, CHAMPION (1901) fulfilled the requirements of the Article 74.5 (ICZN 1999) and his action constitutes a valid lectotype designation. It was also recorded from Cuba by CHAMPION (1901) and KIRKALDY & TORRE BUENO (1909) by error (see NARANJO et al. 2010, POLHEMUS & POLHEMUS 2016)., Published as part of Kment, Petr, Carapezza, Attilio & Jindra, Zdeněk, 2020, Taxonomic catalogue of the family Ochteridae with description of Ochterus papaceki sp. nov. from Socotra Island and Tanzania (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), pp. 23-64 in Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 60 (1) on page 45, DOI: 10.37520/aemnp.2020.003, http://zenodo.org/record/3879659, {"references":["GUERIN-MENEVILLE F. Ochterus hungerfordi Schell, 1943 Ochterus americanus (partim, misidentification): UHLER (1876): 336 (specimen from Cuba). Ochterus hungerfordi Schell, 1943a: 32, 35 (key to species, illustration). LECTOTYPE (designated by SCHELL 1943b: 37, as holotype):, Cuba: ‘Mantanzas, Mumuri Valley’ (SEMC). Ochterus hungerfordi: SCHELL (1943b):37 (original description, differential diagnosis); DRAKE (1952): 74 (checklist); ALAYO (1971):4 –5 (key to species); ALAYO (1974): 34 –35 (key to species); HECKMAN (2011): 459 (key to species, illustration). Material examined. CUBA: Sierra Maestra, x.[19]28, 1 ♀, Dr. Rambousek lgt., L. Hoberlandt det., P. Kment revid. (NMPC). Distribution. Neotropical Region: Caribbean Islands: Cuba (SCHELL 1943b; DRAKE 1952; ALAYO 1971, 1974; MUÑOZ RIVIAUX et al. 2010a,b; NARANJO et al. 2010). Note. The revision of American Ochterus including the description of O. hungerfordi was published divided in two parts, the first published in January 1943 (SCHELL 1943a) and the second in April 1943 (SCHELL 1943b). The species was first introduced in the key, which is sufficient to make it available (ICZN 1999: Art. 13.1.1), without any mention of type specimens (SCHELL 1943a: 32), while the original description including the holotype designation appeared in the second part (SCHELL 1943b: 37). As a holotype is defined as ‘the single specimen upon which a new nominal species-group taxon is based in the original publication’ (ICZN 1999: Art. 73.1), in this case, the subsequently designated ‘holotype’ must be considered the lectotype according to ICZN (1999: Art. 74.5)., Published as part of Kment, Petr, Carapezza, Attilio & Jindra, Zdeněk, 2020, Taxonomic catalogue of the family Ochteridae with description of Ochterus papaceki sp. nov. from Socotra Island and Tanzania (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), pp. 23-64 in Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 60 (1) on pages 38-39, DOI: 10.37520/aemnp.2020.003, http://zenodo.org/record/3879659, {"references":["UHLER P. Ochterus bidentatus Schell, 1943 Ochterus bidentatus Schell, 1943a: 32, 35 (key to species, illustration). LECTOTYPE (designated by SCHELL 1943b: 44, as holotype):, Peru: ‘Vic. San Pedro’ (SEMC). Ochterus bidentatus SCHELL (1943b): 44 (original description, differential diagnosis); DRAKE (1952): 74 (checklist); HECKMAN (2011): 462 –463 (key to species, illustration). Distribution. Neotropical Region: South America: Peru (SCHELL 1943b, DRAKE 1952, NIESER & CHEN 1992). Note. The revision of American Ochterus including the description of O. bidentatus was published divided in two parts, the first published in January 1943 (SCHELL 1943a) and the second in April 1943 (SCHELL 1943b). The species was first introduced in the key, which is sufficient to make it available (ICZN 1999: Art. 13.1.1), without any mention of type specimens (SCHELL 1943a: 32), while the original description including the holotype designation appeared in the second part (SCHELL 1943b: 44). 23-64 in Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 60 (1) on page 36, DOI: 10.37520/aemnp.2020.003, http://zenodo.org/record/3879659, {"references":["SCHELL D.
