The article focuses on neurological complications of AIDS. Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest number of HIV infected persons with approximately 23.8 to 28.9 million. It says that the highly active antiretroviral therapy which slows down the reproduction of the disease has very poor penetration to the brain. It is said that the nasal pathway is a practical approach to provide direct access to the central nervous system for drug therapy in neuroAIDS.
