Minoritized mother politicians that include ethnic racialized minority Traveller (an Irish indigenous community), racialized ethnic minority women, and migrant women face considerable disadvantages as workers arising from the intersection of their maternal status, gender, racialized or migrant and class position. The experiences of minoritized mother candidates and politicians in Ireland are viewed through the lens of subjectivities providing insight into how these mother‐workers mediate identities and status positions that place them outside of, or in tension with, a predominantly white masculinist workplace. Empirical data analysis reveals how minoritized mother candidates and politicians respond in strategic ways to forces of subjectivation that may risk affirming idealized motherhood, while obscuring gendered and racialized inequalities in the political workplace. Paradoxically, motherhood seeds political ambition while acting as a material, temporal, and affective constraint, a source of invisible labor and violence in gendered and racialized ways. The ancestors of the dingo were brought to mainland Australia around 4000 years ago by people who arrived by boat. The identity of these voyagers from the north, however, and the nature of their interactions with the Aboriginal population of Australia, are unknown. Here, we propose that Indigenous flood narratives from the Kimberley contain evidence for contact between Aboriginal people and early Asian seafarers in the form of the “thunder complex”. The latter is a very specific repertoire of taboos, rituals and stories that occurs widely among ethnographically known societies of Indonesia, the Philippines and peninsular Malaysia, but has not previously been identified in Australia. Among Southeast Asian groups, this cultural complex revolves around the idea that certain prohibited acts perpetrated against animals – especially “mocking” them by treating them as though they were human – precipitate a punitive storm and/or flooding. We show that in some oral traditions of the Kimberley region animal mockery is similarly held to be the causative agent behind disastrous flooding events that took place in the past creationary epoch. We contend that this localised Aboriginal variant of the thunder complex reflects an episode of close interaction with early Austronesian‐speaking voyagers who introduced ancestral dingoes to mainland Australia, apparently via the Kimberley coast. The present research aims to enhance the understanding of island travelers and their behavior through the lens of the environmental locus of control. This study incorporates the important factors of cognitive and affective stages that influence pro‐environmental behavior depending on the level of internal and external environmental locus of control. The research findings provide evidence about the level of environmental locus of control in regards to island travelers and the formation process of pro‐environmental behavior based on the cognition‐affection‐conation model. Last, this research shows how the internal and external environmental locus of control moderate the relationships among the core constructs that contribute in order to develop environmentally friendly behavior. The popularity of sensory marketing has piqued the interest of luxury service providers in designing service environments to stimulate the senses of customers seeking a unique luxury experience. Providing high‐quality hotel products allows an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage through brand differentiation. This study explores the link between the multisensory marketing of bath amenities (stimulus), perceived value (organism), and behavioral intention (response) based on the stimulus–organism–response framework. The data were collected from luxury hotel customers in the United States. Structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed relationships. The results show that customers with a high level of sensory experience tend to perceive high hedonic, quality, and prestige values. Further, perceived value affected customers' behavioral intentions (i.e., purchase and revisit intentions) through satisfaction. This study develops an integrated model that investigates the impact of app technology on event experiences and subsequent consumer behaviors—place attachment, affective commitment, and behavioral intentions. In the context of sports tourism events, data were collected from 219 international participants during the 12th Transpyr race in 2022. Results suggest that perceived usefulness, information value, and perceived enjoyment are drivers of users' app satisfaction, though perceived ease of use did not directly impact app satisfaction. App satisfaction positively impacted event experiences, fostering place attachment, behavioral intention (intention to participate, word‐of‐mouth, electronic word‐of‐mouth), and affective commitment. Affective commitment also influenced behavioral intentions positively, unlike place attachment. This study extends the tourism and consumer behaviors literature. It also presents a new perspective on the TAM model by measuring the users' online experience and its impact on the event experience. Because Islamophobia has increased recently, Muslim tourists, who make up a crucial part of the global tourism market, prefer to travel to Muslim‐friendly places. However, the perceived Muslim‐friendly tourist destination image (MFTDI) remains completely unaddressed in the literature. Furthermore, there is no systematic empirical evidence concerning the impacts of the MFTDI on perceived value, satisfaction and Muslim actual visit behaviour. As a result, the purpose of this investigation is to define the multiple components of MFTDI, to explore the interrelationships within the MFTDI, value, satisfaction and Muslim actual visit behaviour, and to design and test a theoretical framework for the outcomes of MFTDI in the travel industry. To do so, nine hypotheses were established and evaluated using a survey of 576 Muslim travellers of different nationalities. This study analyzes jointly the effects of various types of crises on tourism demand in the 17 territories within Spain and how they affect distinct strands of tourism. Three very different crises are considered: the Great Recession, the Arab Spring, and the COVID‐19 pandemic. This paper proposes an objective classification of the Spanish provinces that considers the importance of tourism activity. The impacts of the crises are analyzed and compared with those obtained from a classification based on the geographical location of the provinces. We carry out the study by estimating dynamic panel data models that incorporate a generalized method of moments (GMM). The results report high significance levels for the persistence, price, and income variables. From a territorial perspective, and with the important exception of inland provinces, there are no significant differences in the variations in tourism demand. The global aging population brings a growing senior tourist market. This study applies embodied cognitive theory and grounded theory to explore how senior tourists' technological experiences are formed in three travel stages. Twenty‐five in‐depth interviews were conducted with senior tourists aged 55–82. Three main components of embodied technological experiences were found, namely the characteristics of senior tourists, tourism contexts, and technological cognition. Characteristics affect technological cognition and how seniors react in specific tourism contexts. Tourism contexts play a stimulating role in motivating senior tourists to participate in different tourism activities. Technological cognition reflects personal characteristics and factors that influence technological usage. Although the tourism shopping experience is growing in volume and importance, there is a lacuna about how the experiential facets of tourism shopping shape tourists' attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, this study aims to provide a broader understanding of this, by exploring the structural relationships between tourism shopping experiences, tourism shopping value, affective attachment, and behavioral intention. Data were sourced from 500 international tourists who had shopping experiences in Ghana. Results showed that experiential facets of in‐and‐out of store ambience, product, and store policy, all significantly inform hedonic and utilitarian shopping values. Both utilitarian and hedonic values positively influenced affective attachment and behavioral intention. The results of this study have academic and practical implications, as they shed light on understanding the cognition‐affect‐behavior relationships in a tourism shopping context. Destination crowding has emerged as a serious issue for tourist sites and visitors alike. This research delves into the correlation between two‐dimensional perceived (spatial and human) crowding and two tourist behaviors (pro‐environmental and deviant behavior). Additionally, it explores the influence of deindividuation and environmental knowledge on these relationships. The study, based on 313 Chinese domestic tourists who recently visited the Great Wall, reveals that perceptions of spatial and human crowding significantly trigger deviant behavior. Conversely, pro‐environmental behavior is indirectly impeded by both forms of perceived crowding, with deindividuation acting as a mediating factor. The presence of environmental knowledge proves crucial in empowering tourists to make well‐informed behavioral decisions and mitigating the negative effects of deindividuation on their actions. This research contributes to the tourism literature by incorporating deindividuation to enhance the understanding of how perceived crowding affects tourist behaviors. This research examines the effect of the answering style of ChatGPT on users' acceptance in a trip planning context, where ChatGPT recommends a list of destinations. Focusing on two style factors (information structure: destinations are listed vs. explained; communication style: opening and ending remarks are present vs. absent), we examined how travelers' acceptance of ChatGPT's recommendation varied with its answering style based on the "Computers are Social Actors" paradigm, via three experiments. While the relationship between communication style and travelers' acceptance was not significant, that between information structure and acceptance was significant, travelers were more willing to visit the destinations recommended by ChatGPT when they were explained than when listed. Also, this research identified a mediator (perceived informativeness) and a moderator (travelers' familiarity with the destinations) of the relationship. Structural models of traffic congestion, such as the bottleneck model, are used to answer important, policy‐relevant questions. However, existing models typically assume that no travelers are inframarginal regarding when to travel; that is, given equilibrium travel times, no travelers strictly prefer their ex ante departure time to all others. In this article, I address this shortcoming by incorporating inframarginal travelers into these models. This change significantly improves these models' ability to fit the data and changes policy prescriptions. Although the sharing economy in tourism has garnered much positive attention, perennial ethical gray areas have been ignored. Drawing upon the ecological systems theory, we investigate the influence of different systemic factors, classified as individual differences and environmental context, on the ethical behavior of travelers (i.e., reporting malfunctions in a bike‐sharing context and saving water/electricity in a peer‐to‐peer accommodation context). PLS‐SEM and fsQCA are applied to analyze and examine proposed hypotheses. The results complement the factor configuration differences between the two behaviors. The burgeoning dockless bike-sharing system presents a promising solution to the first- and last-mile transportation challenge by connecting trip origins/destinations to metro stations. However, the differentiation between metro passengers and DBS riders, as they belong to distinct systems, hinders the precise identification of DBS-metro transfers. This study introduces an innovative method employing mobility chains to establish spatiotemporal relationships, including spatiotemporal conflicts and similarities, among potential users from both systems. This significantly enhances the precision of user matching. An empirical study in Chengdu validates the method's increased accuracy and examines travel patterns, yielding the following insights: (1) Introduction of the mobility chain reduces average matched pairs by 28.27% and improves accuracy by 18.36%. The addition of spatial-temporal similarity further boosts accuracy by 19.32%. (2) Median distances for DBS-metro access and egress transfers are approximately 950 meters. Short trips of 650–750 meters are prevalent, while trips exceeding 1.5 kilometers lead passengers to opt for alternative modes. (3) Temporal patterns reveal weekday peaks at 8:00, 9:00, and 17:00. On weekends, transfers are uniformly distributed, mainly within urban areas. Suburban stations exhibit reduced weekend activity. These findings can provide valuable insights for enhancing DBS bicycle redistribution, promoting transportation mode integration, and fostering urban transportation's sustainable development. The rise of proximity tourism since the onset of COVID‐19 has enabled individuals to assess their daily lives from new perspectives. Nevertheless, in studies of this change, scant attention has been given to the influence of government performance on the perception and behavior of proximity tourists. Drawing upon micro‐governance theory in conjunction with the two‐factor hygiene model, this study proposes a novel conceptual framework. The effects of pandemic‐related strict vs. relaxed travel restrictions on potential proximity tourists' intention to travel are examined alongside mortality salience as a moderator and perceived extraordinariness as a mediator. Two quasi‐experiments reveal a positive link between government performance and travel intention, especially when moderated by mortality salience. Relaxed travel restrictions, coupled with the performance of government protests, greater perceived extraordinariness, thus amplifying travel intention. Shopping is an important activity impacting the travel and tourism industry. This research explores the influence of value perceptions on tourists' souvenir purchase decisions. A convenience sample of 380 respondents from a southeastern US university completed a survey regarding value perception towards the destination visited, type of shopping venue, and souvenir purchase intention. Through structural equation modeling, results revealed that functional and social value significantly influenced tourists' purchase intentions. This result provides valuable insight suggesting destination marketers should focus on these two indicators in future planning and promotion strategies. With the trend of developing slow tourism in the global tourism industry, this study aims to examine the role of memory impressions in slow tourism. Building upon the theoretical support of authenticity, this study proposes an authenticity‐driven model for memory impressions in slow tourism. Data were collected from 303 foreign tourists who have been to three slow towns in Taiwan, including Chishang, Nanzhuang, and Chaozhou. Analytical results show that, in slow tourism, intrapersonal authenticity enhances interpersonal authenticity. Intrapersonal and interpersonal authenticity both improve memory impressions. Destination satisfaction and destination loyalty are significant outcomes of memory impressions. In addition, we found that memory impressions could mediate the relationship between intrapersonal, and interpersonal authenticity, satisfaction, and destination loyalty. The rise of slow tourism reflects tourists' high‐quality needs under the accelerated pace of contemporary life. However, the on‐site slow tourism experience remains underexplored despite its importance to both tourists and destinations. This study aims to explore how on‐site experiences are created and identifies the features of the on‐site experiences of slow tourism. From the perspective of embodied practice, the study finds that two patterns, slow‐moving‐and‐pausing in the context of the local landscape environment and consuming‐and‐engaging in the context of local life and culture, account for the slow‐tourist‐oriented individuals creating their autotelic tourism experiences. Intra‐personal and inter‐personal experiences are found in the two different patterns that indicate the existential experience is, in essence, the slow tourists' emotional quest. This study explores the factors that affect domestic tourist attachment to dark tourism destinations by developing a hybrid model using several methods, including structural equation modeling (SEM) and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP), predicated on attachment theory. The study collected data from 60 tourism experts and 622 domestic tourists. The study found that tourist motivation, national identity, tourism impacts, and destination attachment are all crucial factors that explain domestic tourist behavior towards dark tourism. The results of the mediation analysis indicate that destination attachment mediates the relationship between tourist motivation, national identity, and negative tourism impact with tourist satisfaction. The FAHP results show that place identity has the highest influence while place dependence has the lowest influence in shaping domestic tourists' selection of dark tourist destinations. The study's findings provide valuable insights for tour operators and destination managers to meet domestic tourists' expectations of dark tourism, adding to the existing knowledge related to the factors that impact dark tourism. Addressing the lack of an integrated view of family travel destination positioning and experience design, this study focuses on examining how a new form of family travel experiences, that is, childcare service experiences available during the hospitality and tourism consumption, combined with destination positioning to trigger travelers' positive perceptions of the overall tourism experiences in Macau. Furthermore, using the lens of identity salience, this study is among the first to investigate how the salience of self‐ or family‐identity changes the impact of childcare service experiences on travelers' destination attitudes. The findings of the two scenario‐based experiments suggested that compared to family travel destination positioning, individual characteristics (i.e., identity salience) exerted a significant strengthening effect on the impact of childcare service experiences on family travelers. This study investigated the effects of rigid thinking, ideology, and explicit and implicit prejudices on consumer ethnocentrism. Explicit and implicit prejudices significantly affected consumer ethnocentrism, but not travel behavioral intention. Among the three variances—Asian–European American, skin tone, and Arab‐Muslim Implicit Association Test (IAT)—used as implicit prejudice control variables, only implicit prejudice regarding Arab‐Muslim names significantly affected travel product purchase intention and travel behavior. The results revealed that consumers with strong consumer ethnocentrism are likely to avoid purchasing overseas travel products. The majority of interdisciplinary studies on nineteenth‐century Japonisme perpetuate an assumption that most connoisseurs of Japanese art in Victorian Britain were men. Despite recent feminist studies which have restored women to histories of private collecting and curatorship across Europe, there is a lack of consideration of how travelogues by women contributed to public discussions of Japanese art and anthropology in Victorian Britain—including accounts which complement or predate publications by celebrated connoisseurs such as A.W. Franks, James Lord Bowes, and Charles Holme. This article will examine brief passages from travelogues by Anna d'Almeida (1863), Alice Frere (1870), Isabella Bird (1880), and Mary Bickersteth (1893) which chronicle the authors' experiences purchasing ceramics and lacquerware in Japan. The women's careful attention to the history and features which distinguish valuable, antique art pieces from lesser factory productions contradicts the Victorian characterisation of female collectors as indiscriminate participants in commercial or 'decorative' trends. Furthermore, the women redress false Victorian conceptions of 'Japanese' aesthetics and report on the changing conditions of art production in post‐feudal Japan. In context with the popularity of the travel genre across classes and genders in the mid‐ and late‐nineteenth century, d'Almeida, Frere, Bird, and Bickersteth's accounts simultaneously signal their competence as discerning collectors of authentic Japanese art while providing an accessible introduction to Japanese art and aesthetics for aspiring lay‐collectors of 'things Japanese'. Using survey data of millennials and older adults in Hamilton, Ontario, this exploratory study sought to identify daily travelers based on their attitudes and perceptions toward transportation modes using latent class analysis. Four daily traveler types are identified—"walk and transit‐oriented travelers," "car‐oriented commuters," "multimodal travelers," and "car‐oriented travelers." The study also examined the association of different sociodemographic characteristics and trip attributes with the four traveler types. Findings suggest that heterogeneity exists within travel‐related attitudes among different traveler types. In his I Some Account of the Present Greek Church i of 1722, Dr John Covel (1638-1722), an Anglican cleric and long-time master of Christ's College, Cambridge, reflected on how human beings, and Christians specifically, might best please God. While many Anglicans shared Covel's general conception of religious worship, Covel was distinct insofar as he had arrived at this view with recourse to his earlier experiences of the Ottoman Empire, in which he had lived, worked and travelled in the 1670s. During the 1670s, then, while Covel was travelling, the requirement within the Anglican Church to make the sign of the cross in baptism remained a major point of contention for more puritanical Christians, including Baxter. In using the Greek Church to defend the sign of the cross, Covel distinguished himself from not only Hooker but also several of his Anglican contemporaries, including Nathaniel Resbury (c. 1643-1711), who championed the sign of the cross against non-conformist objections using the writings of Church Fathers such as Tertullian (c. 155-240) and St Cyprian (c. 200-58). Background: Traveller patients have distinctive clinical characteristics compared to non-traveller patients. Local information about the clinical features of traveller patients is lacking. Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the clinical characteristics of traveller patients presenting to a hospital near the Hong Kong International Airport. Methods: This was a single-centred, retrospective cohort study. Medical records of all traveller patients presenting to the Accident and Emergency Department of North Lantau Hospital in Hong Kong from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 were reviewed. The demographics, triage category, presentation, outcomes and disposal were retrospectively evaluated and compared between traveller and non-traveller patients. Results: There were 528 traveller patients attending the Accident and Emergency Department of North Lantau Hospital during the study period, constituting 0.6% of total annual attendance. About one-third of the traveller patients required admission. The most common discharge diagnoses were gastrointestinal diseases (14.8%), followed by trauma (12.9%) and other neurological diseases (12.9%). Traveller patients had a higher rate of being triaged as critical and emergency categories (p < 0.001), higher admission rate (p < 0.001), higher need for active resuscitation (p < 0.001) and escort (p < 0.001) when compared to non-traveller patients. Around 1.3% of traveller patients presented with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and were eventually certified dead in Accident and Emergency Department. Conclusion: The traveller population constitutes a small proportion of the patient population, but they can have a significant impact on the Accident and Emergency Departments in high-impact traveller areas. This paper explores the importance of two forms of interactions, namely marketer–traveler interaction and traveler–traveler interaction in driving destination brand engagement (DBE) dimensions, and their effect on travelers' short‐term and long‐term behavioral intentions based on impulse buying and external search behavior. Using multi‐group analysis, the impact of DBE dimensions on external search behavior and impulse buying across Generation‐Z travelers (aged between 18 and 25) and Generation‐Y travelers (aged between 26 and 40) was also explored. This study aims to (1) examine whether scandals about the endorsers affect their image (in terms of believability and attractiveness) and (2) compare any difference in the destination image (in terms of cognitive, affective, and conative images) between destinations where their endorsers have and do not have scandals. The research results indicate that having scandals negatively affects endorsers' believability and attractiveness, believability positively affects affective destination image, and attractiveness positively affects cognitive destination image. Zika virus is a mosquito‐borne flavivirus which caused major epidemics in the Pacific and the Americas between 2013 and 2015. International travellers have previously acted as a sentinel population for Zika virus transmission in endemic areas, where local transmission may be incompletely captured by local surveillance systems. We report five recent European travellers returning from Thailand with Zika virus infection, highlighting the risk of ongoing endemic transmission in this popular tourist destination. Due to the growing awareness concerning environmental problems, specifically air pollution, it is crucial to understand the relationship between perceptions of air quality and the pro‐environmental behaviors of visitors. This study segments visitors based on self‐reported pro‐environmental behaviors. A survey was carried out in Portugal (N = 602). Three clusters with different pro‐environmental profiles emerged: eco‐transportation seekers; environmentally committed visitors; and environmentally insensitive visitors. Differences were detected among the clusters regarding pro‐environmental behaviors at home, environmental attitudes, perception of the destination air quality, and perception of the impact of air quality on health, as well as sociodemographic and travel characteristics. This article widens the focus of the debate around multilingualism in early modern Europe. Using the life‐writing of a scholar, traveller and Protestant minister from the Scottish Highlands, Rev. James Fraser (1634–1709), it provides a North Sea perspective on the theme. The article sheds light on how Fraser and his locale (the 'firthlands' of northern mainland Scotland) produced a dynamic scholarly contribution in local, regional, national and transnational terms, one that was defined by a culture of code‐switching and polyglossia. Employing, in particular, his history of the Fraser family to 1674 and his three‐volume memoir of his travels in Europe, it finds a common thread in Fraser's life in its multilingual nature. Focusing first on the spoken word, and, subsequently, on reading and writing, the article shows how Fraser's evidence from the seventeenth‐century Scottish Highlands provides a vital insight into how the English language rose in the region and across the Atlantic archipelago, and, conversely, how early modern northern Europeans, speakers of minority languages, in particular, experienced and sustained multilingual cultures. Itch is the most common skin symptom among tropical parasitic diseases (TPD), but there are limited data about its characteristics in these conditions. In dermatology practices and travellers' health clinics in the developed world, itch is a common complaint among travellers returning from endemic areas, as well among migrants arriving from endemic areas, where they may have been exposed to TPD. Studying aspects of pruritus among TPD may lead to improvements in prompt, accurate diagnosis and management of these conditions. This review examines the major itch‐inducing TPDs, including schistosomiasis, echinococcosis, onchocerciasis, scabies, cutaneous larva migrans, larva currens, African trypanosomiasis, dracunculiasis and other causes of travel associated pruritus. We focus on the link between pruritus and other symptoms, aetiology, clinical staging and therapeutic options for these parasitic illnesses. Because some tropical parasitic diseases can present with significant pruritus, we attempt to identify aspects of the pruritus that are characteristic of—or unique to—specific conditions. These diagnostic insights may help clinicians create a rational and focused differential diagnosis and help determine optimal disease management pathways. International travel has been the major source for the rapid spread of new SARS‐CoV‐2 variants across the globe. During SARS‐CoV‐2 genomic surveillance, a total of 212 SARS‐CoV‐2 positive clinical specimens were sequenced using next‐generation sequencing. A complete SARS‐CoV‐2 genome could be retrieved from 90 clinical specimens. Of them, 14 sequences belonged to the Eta variant from clinical specimens of international travelers (n = 12) and local residents (n = 2) of India, and 76 belonged to other SARS‐CoV‐2 variants. Of all the Eta‐positive specimens, the virus isolates were obtained from the clinical specimens of six international travelers. Many variants of interest have been found to cause substantial community transmission or cluster infections. The detection of this variant with lethal E484K mutation across the globe and India necessitates persistent genomic surveillance of the SARS‐CoV‐2 variants, which would aid in taking preventive action. In the traveller's dilemma, a compelling argument seems to prescribe an intuitively irrational course of action. However, I argue all is not as it appears in the traveller's dilemma; standard game‐theoretic agents have a way out. To show this, I detail the key characteristics of the traveller's dilemma, its underlying assumptions, and explain why we have an apparent conflict with what an idealized agent would intuitively do. I then argue that the backwards induction argument fails here because of the unique structure of the game. I conclude that we ought not focus our attention on the traveller's dilemma. This paper looks from a gender perspective at the elusive figure, complex personality and myth of Francisco de Miranda, enlightened traveller and Precursor of Latin American independence. By analysing Miranda's personal archive as his own carefully crafted creation, it pursues three closely connected issues insufficiently interpreted in historical perspective: the forms of masculinity he embodied and those from which he distanced himself, his connections with women and the role that gender played in his assessments of the countries he visited and wrote about. Miranda's trajectory and self‐image trace an evolution (from mondain seducer and enlightened reader and thinker, to revolutionary sympathiser with women's intelligence and even women's rights, to his embracing more traditional domestic arrangements), not exempt from contradictions that shed new light on the complex dynamics of gender in the Enlightenment and the Atlantic revolutions. The ambivalences of his life and writings tell us much about the different and at times conflicting ways of being a man and relating to women in both the Hispanic world and the broader European and American context of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. For various reasons, some women experience solo travel in different parts of the world. However, as with many leisure activities, access to travel and tourism does not have the same distribution between different social groups, including other classes and genders (men and women). While there is a growing body of research on solo female travellers, few studies have included women from Middle Eastern or Muslim‐majority countries. Drawing upon a series of in‐depth interviews, this paper examines the travel experiences of Iranian solo female travellers, which have been mainly overlooked in prior studies on the topic. The study's findings indicate that solo travel motivations can be categorized into personal factors: freedom and flexibility, self‐empowerment, independence, and exploration. Also, the absence of family responsibilities, routines, and gender constraints, as well as the promotion of their social and personal selves, contributed to their well‐being. The results also indicate that, despite the restrictions imposed by Iran's religious‐patriarchal society, tourism has made women more visible in the public sphere. Overall, this study fills a significant gap in tourism research by highlighting the experience, limitations, and motivation of solo female travellers, which heralds social change. This paper proposes a linear mixed model of route speed distributions that separates the variability into an intertraveller component, consistent across days and time intervals for each recurrent traveller, and an intratraveller component representing uncertainty. The intratraveller variability corresponds to travel time uncertainty, while the total variability is typically captured by empirical measurements and used in travel time reliability assessments. The intratraveller and the total variability differ if there are systematic differences in speed between different recurrent travellers. The paper also investigates to what degree vehicles traversing a route during the morning or evening peak over multiple days are recurrent travellers. Using data from Bluetooth and Wifi sensors on 26 routes in Stockholm, Sweden, over a three-month period, we find that the traveller recurrence is higher towards the city in the morning peak and out from the city in the afternoon. Model estimation results show that the relative intratraveller variability is also significantly higher in the commute direction (towards the city in the morning and out from the city in the afternoon) and on routes with high congestion levels. The relations revealed in this paper may be used to estimate the relevant intratraveller variance based on the total variance and readily available route attributes. Objective: To identify barriers to seeking health care among returning travellers with malaria with the aim of developing targeted interventions that improve early health care‐seeking behaviour, diagnosis and treatment. Methods: Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, we conducted a systematic review of published medical literature, selecting studies that investigated and reported barriers to seeking health care among returning travellers and migrants with malaria. In total, 633 articles were screened, of which four studies met the inclusion criteria after a full‐text review. Results: The four studies reported barriers to seeking healthcare among returning travellers in China, the United States, Thailand and the Dominican Republic. Three studies had an observational design. The identified barriers were summarised based on the appraisal delay, illness delay and utilisation delay stages. During appraisal delays, low awareness of malaria was the most significant factor. Once the patient assessed that he or she was ill, belonging to a specific minority ethnicity, being infected with P. vivax and receiving a low level of social support were predictors of delayed health care‐seeking. Finally, the most significant factor associated with utilisation delays was the monetary cost. Conclusion: The health care‐seeking behaviour of returning travellers with malaria should be further investigated and improved. Addressing the identified barriers and gaps in health care‐seeking behaviour among returning travellers with malaria, particularly among groups at high risk of travel‐associated infections, is important to prevent severe disease and deaths as well as secondary transmission and epidemics. Although website functionality and usability have gained much attention of previous research, along with the recent development of mobile payment, payment behavior of travelers has been gradually changed. Nevertheless, limited studies have investigated the impact of mobile payment‐related functionality and usability on consumers' hotel repurchase intention. Hence, this study developed a new research framework based on the website evaluation conceptual model and the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Results show that mobile payment‐related usability on customer satisfaction is transmitted by mobile payment‐related attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. NASA's Voyager 1, Voyager 2, and Galileo spacecraft acquired hundreds of images of Jupiter's moon Europa. These images provide the only moderate‐ to high‐resolution views of the moon's surface and are therefore a critical resource for scientific analysis and future mission planning. Unfortunately, uncertain knowledge of the spacecraft's position and pointing during image acquisition resulted in significant errors in the location of the images on the surface. The result is that adjacent images are poorly aligned, with some images displaced by more than 100 km from their correct location. These errors severely degrade the usability of the Voyager and Galileo imaging data sets. To improve the usability of these data sets, we used the U.S. Geological Survey Integrated Software for Imagers and Spectrometers to build a nearly global image tie‐point network with more than 50,000 tie points and 135,000 image measurements on 481 Galileo and 221 Voyager images. A global least‐squares bundle adjustment of our final Europa tie‐point network calculated latitude, longitude, and radius values for each point by minimizing residuals globally, and resulted in root mean square (RMS) uncertainties of 246.6 m, 307.0 m, and 70.5 m in latitude, longitude, and radius, respectively. The total RMS uncertainty was 0.32 pixels. This work enables direct use of nearly the entire Galileo and Voyager image data sets for Europa. We are providing the community with updated NASA Navigation and Ancillary Information Facility Spacecraft, Planet, Instrument, C‐matrix (pointing), and Events kernels, mosaics of Galileo images acquired during each observation sequence, and individual processed and projected level 2 images. Plain Language Summary: Europa's subsurface ocean contains all the ingredients necessary for life, and this Jovian moon is therefore the target of continued scientific investigations and future exploration. Most of the pictures we have of Europa's surface were returned by the Voyager 1, Voyager 2, and Galileo spacecraft. These pictures provide insight into Europa's complex surface geology and ultimately clues to conditions within the ocean itself. Unfortunately, the pictures are hard to use because the location of the images on the surface are often incorrect. The result is that pictures that should overlap each other do not, or two apparently overlapping pictures show completely different scenes. In this work, we correct the locations of almost all the Galileo images and many of the Voyager images by identifying thousands of features that are in common between two or more images, and then mathematically calculating new locations for each feature such that the mismatch between pictures is globally minimized. We then created a set of mosaics that combine all the pictures taken during each Galileo flyby. We provide these mosaics, individual pictures, and improved camera pointing information to the community. The Cook Island government has made several efforts to ensure zero confirmed cases and transmission of COVID‐19, especially among visiting travelers. However, the Cook Island ministry of health has to deal with the new strain of dengue fever outbreak, known as dengue fever type 2 (DEN‐2), by adopting several measures to control its spread, especially in the affected parts of the subtropical country. In spite of diverse measures by national governments and destination marketing organizations (DMOs), the statistics related to international tourist destinations, including those of independent travelers, show that the rankings of the most popular tourist destinations have undergone minimal changes over the past decade. The aim of this study is to understand the factors that prevent independent travelers from selecting smaller regions (i.e., relatively less popular destinations) and examine the impact of these constraint factors on destination image formation. Using both qualitative and quantitative data collected from independent travelers, this study found that intrapersonal, interpersonal, structural, and awareness constraints are the major constraint factors. Intrapersonal constraints were found to be negatively associated with the cognitive and affective image of a destination, while awareness constraints were found to be negatively associated with the cognitive image of a destination. Cognitive and affective images were also found to be significant antecedents of conative image. In this study we aim to investigate whether entity and incremental theorists' decision to choose/not choose homestay accommodation can be explained by their implicit self‐theories. Drawing on data solicited from in‐depth interviews with 44 travellers, we found entity theorists chose homestays because homestays align with their personal traits and offer outcomes they desired. Incremental theorists chose homestays since they perceived the act affirms their growth traits and homestays provide opportunities of learning about culture and gaining new skills. Weather can be a major concern for travelers when choosing a destination, preparing their trip and during their stay. Existing publications focus on explaining the role of weather based on one, or at most, a few parameters and usually for one season. This paper proposes a new approach covering all four seasons by connecting daily data from meteorological stations to tourists' registration information. This approach allows for an understanding of travel volumes based on actual travel data and not on perceptions or desired outcomes. The results suggest a clear impact of weather on the number and duration of short‐term trips for all seasons. This study aims to identify the travelers' adoption behavior towards electric vehicles (EVs) using the theoretical background of the Norm Activation Model (NAM) theory. A questionnaire was designed and conducted in Lahore, Pakistan. A total of 402 usable samples were obtained. The collected data were analyzed using factor analysis and Structural Equation Modeling methods. The factor analysis confirmed the hypothesis of the statements designed according to the NAM theory, that is, awareness of consequences (AC), ascription of responsibility (AR), and personal norm (PN). Other factor analyses resulted in the following reliable factors: social and economic values (SEV), personal preferences (PP), willingness to buy (Buy), and willingness to use (Use) of an EV. The results of SEM revealed that the AC, AR, and SEV are significant predictors of PN, whereas the PN and PP are also positive predictors of travelers' willingness to buy and use. The young travelers (≤30 years), motorcycle users, employees, and trip distance (>10 km) have significant and positive correlations with the PN. The car ownership status of travelers has a positive correlation with the ownership and usage of EVs. Suitable behavioral intervention techniques were derived to promote the ownership and usage of EVs in the context of developing regions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Travelers conduct onboard activities while using the tools they bring with them onboard to convert part of their travel time to a productive time. Productive travel time contributes to the reduction in the disutility of travel time. This paper discusses the influence of travelers' onboard activities and the tools carried by travelers on the perceived trip time. 10 onboard activities and 12 tools carried by travelers are introduced and studied in this work. A questionnaire focusing on the main trip of each respondent in urban areas is conducted, where a sample size of 525 participants is collected. Statistical methods such as central tendency, chi-square, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), rank-based nonparametric test, and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) are applied. The main findings are the following: almost all of the onboard activities and the tools carried by travelers impact the trip time positively (i.e., the perception is enhanced). For each transport mode, the most frequent onboard activities that impact the trip time positively is obtained, and the connection between each onboard activity and each tool carried by travelers is found (i.e., moderate to strong association). EFA uncovers the underlying relationship between those onboard activities and those tools carried by travelers that influence travelers' perception. In this case, instead of the full list, fewer onboard activities and tools carried by travelers are produced to simplify the finding of their impacts on the perceived trip time. The participation in onboard activity is ranked across certain groups, such as the tendency of women to be engaged in onboard activities is higher than men's tendency. Regarding the positive impact on trip time, a statistical difference is demonstrated between groups, where the use of the tools carried by travelers is varied across the transport mode, trip purpose, and trip time, gender, age, education, and job variable. Besides, the involvement in onboard activities is statistically dependent across the transport mode, gender, income, and car ownership variable. The output of this study helps decision-makers and mobility planners in understanding the behavior of travelers onboard in more detail, such as the availability of onboard tools affecting the choice of transport mode. This article explores the vocabularies of Amerindian languages published as part of the travel accounts written by explorers, traders and colonial policymakers in North America over the eighteenth century. Starting with the renowned Voyages by the Baron de Lahontan, the analysis takes as its endpoint the journals of the famous expedition led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The aim of this study is to foreground what these lexicographic compilations reveal about European encounters with societies categorised as radically different from – and less civilised than – the traveller's own: an 'otherness' sometimes exploited as a mirror and term of comparison that challenged the observer's ethnocentrism. Drawing on existing scholarship about the cultural history of Euro‐American encounters in the modern age, this study puts forward an original analysis of the temporal conceptualisations underpinning vocabularies of 'savage languages', in terms of both historical diachronicity and time as a culturally constructed frame of human experience. This focus on the lists of words and phrases included in travel accounts, journals and relations makes it possible to question the relationship between the recording of linguistic evidence and travel narratives, and explore the complex negotiations between empirical observation and pre‐existing cultural categories and stereotypes. A close reading of these often‐neglected primary sources helps us to identify recurrent conceptual tropes and assign a central role to the historicisation of the Amerindian within wider processes of cultural construction of a global Europeanness. Genidens barbus is a vulnerable marine migrant catfish with low fecundity, a complex life cycle (i.e. mouth breeding), and is the target of industrial and artisanal fisheries of several countries. This species regularly migrates from marine to freshwater environments of the south‐western Atlantic.The aim of this work was to delve deeper into the migration ecology of G. barbus, characterizing both its timing and potential environmental drivers. Furthermore, aspects of the population structure and reproduction of migrants in the lower Uruguay River were studied and the presence of juveniles in the adjacent estuarine recruitment area was evaluated.Data from 11 years (2008–2018) of records of adult G. barbus captured by artisanal fisheries were used alongside relevant environmental variables that were recorded monthly. Reproductive biology (i.e. sex ratio, gonadosomatic index, fecundity, and oocyte size) was analysed for a period of 3 years (2016–2018). The juvenile abundance in the Río de la Plata estuary was evaluated seasonally.A total of 935 adult individuals of G. barbus were captured, representing a total biomass of 3,123 kg. The migration timing was from early spring to early summer. The abundance of migrants strongly increased with river discharge, suggesting that this variable regulates the upriver migration. Furthermore, pre‐ and post‐spawn females and males displaying mouth breeding were recorded during the study period, confirming G. barbus reproduction in the lower Uruguay River.The results obtained suggest that G. barbus ascend to spawn in the freshwater environments upstream from the mouth of the Uruguay River. Then, adult males incubate and carry the embryos downstream, releasing juveniles in the Río de la Plata estuary.This relevant information will help with the implementation of effective management polices (e.g. fishing restrictions during the reproductive period) for the presently unregulated fishery of this vulnerable species in the lower Uruguay River. This essay analyses Lady Elizabeth Webster's journal, in which she chronicled her travels across Europe in the 1790s. Her journal suggests that there was an English community in Naples, whose codes of conduct were modelled on those that regulated elite society in England. Elite women who transgressed the rules could face consequences: Naples was not a place where women could hide from gossip and scrutiny. The journals also provide a fascinating insight into an elite woman's approach to sexual mores and demonstrate that, while attitudes towards sexual behaviour were highly internalised, how individuals put codes into practice was far more complex and open to discrepancies.
