The poor dielectric properties of epoxy resins limit their application in microelectronics, and active ester curing agent is an effective means to enhance the dielectric properties of epoxy resins. However, the phenyl active ester curing resins nowadays have the problem of low mechanical properties. In this work, a novel naphthalene‐based active ester‐cured resveratrol epoxy resin system (REP/NDA) was prepared for the first time. Compared with the phenyl‐active ester‐cured epoxy resin (REP/PDA), the naphthyl‐active ester prepared epoxy resin has obvious advantages in mechanical properties. The experimental results indicated a tensile strength measurement for REP/NDA at 91.9 MPa, the tensile strength of REP/PDA was 65.3 MPa, and the tensile strength of REP/NDA was 141% of that of REP/PDA. The prepared REP/NDA epoxy resin exhibits favorable dielectric properties, evidenced by a dielectric constant of 3.02 at 10 MHz and a dielectric loss of 0.0042, very good thermal stability (T5% of 379°C), excellent water absorption (only 0.49% for 7 days from 2 to 8°C) and good dimensional stability (coefficient of thermal expansion below Tg of 77 ppm). Self‐adaptive applications are becoming increasingly attractive, with the ability to smartly understand their runtime environments (or contexts) and deliver adaptive services, for example, location‐aware navigation or resource‐sensitive suggestions. However, due to inherent noises in the process of sensing and interpreting environmental information, there is a growing demand for guarding the consistency of collected contexts to avoid application misbehaviour and, at the same time, minimize extra costs. Existing work attempted to achieve this by speeding up the kernel constraint checking module inside the consistency guarding process. Most of these efforts were spent on reusing previous checking results or parallelizing the checking process, but they all leave one central step of constraint checking, that is, link generation, untouched. In this step, the checking engine provides reasons to explain the violation of constraints under check. It occupies a substantial part of the total time cost. Focusing on this key link generation step, we proposed MG, which deploys a rigourous analysis to automatically identify and avoid redundancy in the link generation without harming any correctness of the checking results. MG has been proven sound (always guaranteeing correctness) and complete (entirely removing redundancy). Moreover, based on our observation that MG's redundancy elimination also assists another core step of constraint checking to reduce unnecessary computation further, we additionally enhance MG with an escape‐condition optimization to escape unnecessary evaluation of truth values to further improve the efficiency of constraint checking in an aspect other than link generation. We call it MG+ for distinguishing. Our experiments with synthesized and real‐world consistency constraints reported that, compared with existing work, MG eliminates all link redundancy (83% to 0%), and based on it, MG+ further reduces significant truth value calculations (e.g., 49.74% reduction when combined with ECC and Con‐C). Generally, MG brought 14×$$ \times $$–500×$$ \times $$ speed‐ups in link generation, and MG+ further made 1.2×$$ \times $$–1.9×$$ \times $$ speed‐ups in truth value evaluation. A 50‐day test was adopted to compare the growth performance, liver histology, glucose metabolism, lipid (L) metabolism, ion transport, and ammonia metabolism of tilapia fed different carbohydrate–lipid (C:L) ratio diets under saline–alkaline water (salinity = 16 mmol/L and alkalinity = 35 mmol/L). The C and L levels of five isoenergetic (16.5 kJ/g) and isonitrogenous (32% protein) diets were C45%:L3% (L3), C38%:L6% (L6), C31%:L9% (L9), C24%:L12% (L12), and C17%:L15% (L15). This study found that the dietary C:L ratio did not affect the survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), or condition factor of tilapia in saline–alkali water, but fish in the L12 group had the highest weight gain (WG) rate and the lowest hepatosomatic index (HSI) compared with the other groups. Fish fed the higher C diet (L3 and L6) had a higher ion transport capacity and ammonia excretion capacity in gills. However, the highest mRNA expression of genes involved in glutamine metabolism and urea metabolism in the liver was found in the high‐L diet groups (L12 and L15). In particular, a lower serum ammonia concentration was observed in the high‐L diet groups (L12 and L15). In addition, biochemical indicators indicated that the L12 group had the highest liver pyruvic acid, lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), and lipase (LPS) and serum total cholesterol (T‐CHO) contents. In summary, this study indicated that dietary Ls could promote glutamine metabolism and urea metabolism more than dietary Cs and then reduce the serum ammonia concentration of tilapia in saline–alkali water. This article presents a novel methodology to maximize wind farm power generation by integrating graph neural networks (GNN), supervised learning, and reinforcement learning techniques. First, the article introduces a graph‐based representation of the wind farm, capturing wind turbines as vertices and the inter‐turbine wake interactions as edges. The construction of this graph representation integrates the Jensen wake model, which includes insights derived from prior knowledge of wind farm aerodynamics. Subsequently, a detailed description of the GNN model's architecture, incorporating a message passing mechanism, is outlined. This GNN model is trained initially with supervised learning using a dataset of optimal pitch angles generated from the analytical results derived from Jensen wake model. Moreover, to improve the GNN model's accuracy and adaptability, reinforcement learning techniques are employed. The GNN model interacts with a high‐fidelity wind farm simulation environment, receiving feedback in the form of rewards derived from the wind farm's actual power output. Through a policy gradient approach, the GNN parameters undergo iterative updates, enabling the model to learn and adapt to dynamic wind conditions and intricate turbine interactions. Sortilin‐related receptor 1 (SorL1) deficiency is a genetic predisposition to familial Alzheimer's disease (AD), but its pathology is poorly understood. In SorL1‐null rats, a disorder of the global endosome‐lysosome network (ELN) is found in hippocampal neurons. Deletion of amyloid precursor protein (APP) in SorL1‐null rats could not completely rescue the neuronal abnormalities in the ELN of the hippocampus and the impairment of spatial memory in SorL1‐null young rats. These in vivo observations indicated that APP is one of the cargoes of SorL1 in the regulation of the ELN, which affects hippocampal‐dependent memory. When SorL1 is depleted, the endolysosome takes up more of the lysosome flux and damages lysosomal digestion, leading to pathological lysosomal storage and disturbance of cholesterol and iron homeostasis in the hippocampus. These disturbances disrupt the original homeostasis of the material‐energy‐subcellular structure and reprogram energy metabolism based on fatty acids in the SorL1‐null hippocampus, instead of glucose. Although fatty acid oxidation increases ATP supply, it cannot reduce the levels of the harmful byproduct ROS during oxidative phosphorylation, as it does in glucose catabolism. Therefore, the SorL1‐null rats exhibit hippocampal degeneration, and their spatial memory is impaired. Our research sheds light on the pathology of SorL1 deficiency in AD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Loss of Lon1 led to stunted plant growth and accumulation of nuclear‐encoded mitochondrial proteins including Lon1 substrates. However, an in‐depth label‐free proteomics quantification of mitochondrial proteins in lon1 revealed that the majority of mitochondrial‐encoded proteins decreased in abundance. Additionally, we found that lon1 mutants contained protein aggregates in the mitochondrial that were enriched in metabolic enzymes, ribosomal subunits and PPR‐containing proteins of the translation apparatus. These mutants exhibited reduced general mitochondrial translation as well as deficiencies in RNA splicing and editing. These findings support the role of Lon1 in maintaining a functional translational apparatus for mitochondrial‐encoded gene translation. Transcriptome analysis of lon1 revealed a mitochondrial unfolded protein response reminiscent of the mitochondrial retrograde signalling dependent on the transcription factor ANAC017. Notably, lon1 mutants exhibited transiently elevated ethylene production, and the shortened hypocotyl observed in lon1 mutants during skotomorphogenesis was partially alleviated by ethylene inhibitors. Furthermore, the short root phenotype was partially ameliorated by introducing a mutation in the ethylene receptor ETR1. Interestingly, the upregulation of only a select few target genes was linked to ETR1‐mediated ethylene signalling. Together this provides multiple steps in the link between loss of Lon1 and signalling responses to restore mitochondrial protein homoeostasis in plants. Summary statement: Plant Lon1 prevents the aggregation of mitochondrial proteins, including metabolic enzymes and components of the translational apparatus such as ribosomal and PPR proteins. RobotReviewer is a tool for automatically assessing the risk of bias in randomized controlled trials, but there is limited evidence of its reliability. We evaluated the agreement between RobotReviewer and humans regarding the risk of bias assessment based on 1955 randomized controlled trials. The risk of bias in these trials was assessed via two different approaches: (1) manually by human reviewers, and (2) automatically by the RobotReviewer. The manual assessment was based on two groups independently, with two additional rounds of verification. The agreement between RobotReviewer and humans was measured via the concordance rate and Cohen's kappa statistics, based on the comparison of binary classification of the risk of bias (low vs. high/unclear) as restricted by RobotReviewer. The concordance rates varied by domain, ranging from 63.07% to 83.32%. Cohen's kappa statistics showed a poor agreement between humans and RobotReviewer for allocation concealment (κ = 0.25, 95% CI: 0.21–0.30), blinding of outcome assessors (κ = 0.27, 95% CI: 0.23–0.31); While moderate for random sequence generation (κ = 0.46, 95% CI: 0.41–0.50) and blinding of participants and personnel (κ = 0.59, 95% CI: 0.55–0.64). The findings demonstrate that there were domain‐specific differences in the level of agreement between RobotReviewer and humans. Rolling oil sludge (ROS) is a type of solid waste produced during steel rolling; this waste contains not only a high iron content but also many harmful organic components and is a very attractive secondary resource. This paper introduces the sources and hazards of ROS, summarizes the recycling methods integrated with steel production, classifies traditional treatment technologies, and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages. Combined treatment is the main direction of ROS treatment methods in the future. The ROS recycling techniques applied in different industries are summarized. Acrylamide (AAM), a compound extensively utilized in various industrial applications, has been reported to induce toxic effects across multiple tissues in living organisms. Despite its widespread use, the impact of AAM on ovarian function and the mechanisms underlying these effects remain poorly understood. Here, we established an AAM‐exposed mouse toxicological model using 21 days of intragastric AAM administration. AAM exposure decreased ovarian coefficient and impaired follicle development. Further investigations revealed AAM would trigger apoptosis and disturb tricarboxylic acid cycle in ovarian tissue, thus affecting mitochondrial electron transport function. Moreover, AAM exposure decreased oocyte and embryo development potential, mechanically associated with pericentrin and phosphorylated Aurora A cluster failure, leading to meiotic spindle assembly defects. Collectively, these results suggest that AAM exposure may lead to apoptosis, glucose metabolic disorders, and mitochondrial dysfunction in ovary tissue, ultimately compromising oocyte quality. Conventional research on linear polarization photodetector for 2D materials has focused on the search for different anisotropic materials, combinations between materials, introducing plasmonic structures, and patterning 2D materials to improve performance. However, these methods provide limited improvement in polarization sensitivity. Here, a balanced photodetector structure is proposed that does not require an additional process and relies only on the presence of anisotropy in the material itself to substantially improve the polarization sensitivity. The balanced photodetector consists of two ReS2 photodetectors, where the single ReS2 photodetector exhibits excellent performance at 650 nm illumination, including a responsivity and detectivity of 0.28 A W−1 and 4.22 × 109 Jones. Benefiting from the anisotropy of ReS2, the single photodetector achieves excellent polarization sensitivity of 2.79 at 650 nm. The balanced photodetector system achieves an excellent performance of ≈20 dB linear polarization extinction ratio and 0.003° Hz−1/2 noise equivalent light polarization difference at 100 kHz. These performances can also be further optimized by adjusting the gate voltage. The results provide a basis for further development of high‐performance polarization photodetector for 2D materials. l‐2‐Hydroxyglutarate (l‐2‐HG) has been regarded as a tumor metabolite, and it plays a crucial role in adaptation of tumor cells to hypoxic conditions. However, the role of l‐2‐HG in tumor radioresistance and the underlying mechanism have not yet been revealed. Here, we found that l‐2‐HG exhibited to have radioresistance effect on U87 human glioblastoma cells, which could reduce DNA damage and apoptosis caused by irradiation, promote cell proliferation and migration, and impair G2/M phase arrest. Mechanistically, l‐2‐HG upregulated the protein level of hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1α (HIF‐1α) and the expression levels of HIF‐1α downstream target genes. The knockdown of l‐2‐hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase (L2HGDH) gene promoted the tumor growth and proliferation of U87 cells in nude mice by increasing HIF‐1α expression level in vivo. In addition, the low expression level of L2HGDH gene was correlated with the short survival of patients with glioma or kidney cancer. In conclusion, our study revealed the role and mechanism of l‐2‐HG in tumor radioresistance and may provide a new perspective for overcoming tumor radioresistance and broaden our comprehension of the role of metabolites in tumor microenvironment. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide. Significantly activated uridine nucleotide and fatty acid metabolism in HCC cells promote malignant proliferation and immune evasion. Herein, it is demonstrated that the tripartite motif 65 (TRIM65) E3 ubiquitin‐protein ligase, O‐GlcNAcylated via O‐GlcNAcylation transferase, is highly expressed in HCC and facilitated metabolic remodeling to promote the accumulation of products related to uracil metabolism and palmitic acid, driving the progression of HCC. Mechanistically, it is showed that TRIM65 mediates ubiquitylation at the K44 residue of neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), the key protein upstream of classical Hippo signaling. Accelerated NF2 degradation inhibits yes‐associated protein 1 phosphorylation, inducing aberrant activation of related metabolic enzyme transcription, and orchestrating metabolic and immune advantages. In conclusion, these results reveal a critical role for the TRIM family molecule TRIM65 in supporting HCC cell survival and highlight the therapeutic potential of targeting its E3 ligase activity to alter the regulation of proteasomal degradation. Coastal wetland soils are frequently underlain by sulfidic materials. Sea level fluctuations can lead to oxidation of sulfidic materials in acid sulfate soils (ASS) and increased acidity which mobilises trace metals when water levels are low, and inundation of coastal wetland soils and reformation of sulfidic materials when water levels are high. We measured the effect of surface water level fluctuations in soils from coastal wetland sites under four different vegetation types: Apium gravedens (AG), Leptospermum lanigerum (LL), Phragmites australis (PA) and Paspalum distichum (PD) on an estuarine floodplain in southern Australia. We assessed effects of fluctuating water levels on reduced inorganic sulfur (RIS) in terms of acid volatile sulfide (AVS), chromium reducible sulfur (CRS) and trace metals (Fe, Al, Mn, Zn, Ni). Intact soil cores were incubated under dry, flooded and wet–dry cycle treatments of 14 days for a total of 56 days. The flooded treatment increased RIS concentrations in most depths in the AG, PA and PD sites. Lower CRS concentrations occurred in all sites in the dry treatment due to oxidation of sulfidic materials when the surface layer was exposed to lower water levels. CRS was positively correlated with SOC in all treatments. The highest net acidity occurred in the dry treatment and lowest occurred in the flooded treatment in most sites. Inundation with seawater caused SO42− reduction and decreased soluble Fe in the PA and PD sites. General decreases in Al, Zn and Ni concentrations in flooded treatments may have been due to adsorption onto colloids or co‐precipitation with slight increases in pH. SO42− concentrations decreased in the LL, PA and PD sites in the flooded treatment due to reformation of pyrite. In general, accumulation of RIS in soils under different vegetation types following brackish water inundation varied according to vegetation type, which may be linked to differences in organic material input and particle size distribution. Geochemical characteristics reflected whether oxidation or reduction processes dominated at each site in the wet–dry cycle treatments, with oxidation dominating in the LL and PA sites and reduction dominating in the AG and PD sites. The exceptional optoelectronic performance and cost‐effectiveness of manufacturing have propelled organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) into the spotlight within the photovoltaic community. Currently, the single‐junction PSCs have achieved a certified power conversion efficiency surpassing 26%, edging closer to the illustrious Shockley–Queisser theoretical limit. To further enhance device performance, researchers are currently directing their attention toward the integration of wide‐bandgap (WBG) perovskites (Eg > 1.60 eV) as top subcells in conjunction with narrow‐bandgap materials, such as perovskite, crystalline silicon, and copper indium gallium selenium, to construct multijunction tandem devices that maximize solar spectral utilization and minimize thermal losses. However, WBG perovskites encounter challenges associated with suboptimal crystal quality, high defect density, and severe phase separation, leading to significant voltage losses and inferior performance. In this regard, extensive research has been conducted, yielding significant findings. This review article summarizes the advancements in composition engineering, additive engineering, and interface engineering of WBG PSCs. Furthermore, the applications of WBG PSCs in various tandem solar cells and their development are discussed. Finally, future prospects for the development of WBG PSCs are outlined. This study investigated how dietary myo‐inositol affects osmoregulation, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, immunity, and antioxidant properties in Penaeus vannamei under long‐term low‐salinity conditions. A two‐factor (2 × 3) orthogonal approach was used with three different concentrations of dietary myo‐inositol (0, 1,200, and 2,000 mg/kg) at two dietary carbohydrate levels: normal carbohydrate or high carbohydrate (HC). Six experimental diets were formulated, and a feeding trial was carried out for 42 days. The interaction of myo‐inositol with an HC diet significantly improved shrimp survival, weight gain, and specific growth rates. Dietary myo‐inositol increased the contents of Na+, K+, and Ca2+ in the serum and reduced the ion loss caused by low‐salinity stress. In addition, a lack of myo‐inositol can lead to loosening of gill filament connections and thinning or disappearance of the cuticle. However, myo‐inositol supplementation protected the structural and functional integrity of the shrimp gills and significantly enhanced the ion transport capacity (P < 0.05). Two‐factor analysis showed that myo‐inositol concentration was affected by dietary carbohydrate levels, and an HC diet enhanced myo‐inositol biosynthesis in shrimp gills (P < 0.05). The concentrations of myo‐inositol are highest in the gills and lowest in the liver and pancreas. Moreover, dietary myo‐inositol can improve the immune function and antioxidant capacity of P. vannamei. The results also indicated that under sustained low‐salinity stress, high levels of carbohydrates cannot relieve the stress caused by low‐salinity conditions and can even affect the healthy growth of P. vannamei. Under HC levels, adding dietary myo‐inositol significantly improved glycogen and lipid deposition in hepatopancreas tissue and enhanced carbohydrate utilization and osmotic adjustment ability in P. vannamei under chronic low‐salinity stress. Objective: To analyze the co‐existing patterns of health‐related behaviors among children and adolescents at different education stages and the association with obesity. Design: Cross‐sectional study. Sample: A total of 5651 primary and secondary school students were drawn from the National Student Physical Health Survey in 2014 with an average age of 13.53 ± 2.87 years. Measurements: Physical measurements and questionnaires were completed, which concluded height, weight, and health‐related behaviors (sleep, physical activity, dietary, and screen behavior et al.). Latent profile analysis (LPA) was conducted using Mplus 8.3 and SPSS 26.0 was used for other statistical analysis. Results: Three latent classes of health‐related behaviors were fitted for each of the education stages. After adjustment for age, gender, and region, the high‐screen behavior group were 2.217 (95%CI = 1.030–4.772, p =.042) times more likely to be obesity than the health‐behavior group in primary school, and the poor‐diet group and poor‐diet and high‐screen behavior group were 2.101 (95%CI = 1.396–3.396, p <.001) and 1.788 (95%CI = 1.003–3.190, p =.049) times more likely to be overweight than the health‐behavior group in junior middle school respectively. Conclusion: Obesity is mainly influenced by screen behavior and dietary patterns among children and adolescents. Background: The daily physical activity (PA) patterns of children and adolescents are intricate and ambiguous, with varying effects on myopia resulting from different combinations of PA. This study aims to scrutinize the spectrum of PA patterns among children and adolescents and assess their impact on myopia. Methods: Data sourced from the 2014 National Student Physical Fitness Survey (Tianjin segment) encompassed PA records and visual acuity measurements of participants. Latent Class Analysis and a generalized linear model were employed to investigate the relationship between PA categories and visual acuity across different educational stages. Results: The study comprised 6465 primary and middle school students, among whom 50.13% were male. PA patterns were categorized into high (27.16%), medium (29.88%) and low visual acuity regulation groups (13.97%) and the nonmainstream group (28.99%). Following adjustments for sex, age, region and BMI, the medium visual acuity regulation group exhibited a lower risk of myopia (OR = 0.617, 95% CI = 0.424–0.897, p = 0.012; OR = 0.654, 95% CI = 0.438–0.976, p = 0.038) compared to the nonmainstream group among junior and senior middle school students. Conclusion: The efficacy of diverse PA patterns in mitigating myopia risk varies across educational stages and is influenced by sex‐specific factors. It is imperative to advance myopia management strategies by emphasizing tailored PA interventions, discerning between PA patterns and delivering timely guidance and interventions tailored to distinct educational stages and sexes. Background: Limited data is available regarding the weaning techniques employed for mechanical ventilation (MV) in elderly patients with dementia in China. Objective: The primary objective of this study is to investigate diverse weaning methods in relation to the prognostic outcomes of elderly patients with dementia undergoing MV in the intensive care unit (ICU). Specifically, we seek to compare the prognosis, likelihood of successful withdrawal from MV, and the length of stay (LOS) in the ICU. Methods: The study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial, encompassing a group of 169 elderly patients aged ≥ 65 years with dementia who underwent MV. Three distinct weaning methods were used for MV cessation, namely, the tapering parameter, spontaneous breathing trial (SBT), and SmartCare (Dräger, Germany). Results: In the tapering parameter group, the LOS in the ICU was notably prolonged compared to both the SBT and SmartCare groups. However, no statistically significant differences were observed among the groups with respect to demographic characteristics, such as age and sex, as well as factors including the rationale for ICU admission, cause of MV, MV mode, oxygenation index, hemoglobin levels, albumin levels, ejection fraction, sedation and analgesia practices, tracheotomy, duration of MV, successful extubation, successful weaning, incidences of ventilator‐associated pneumonia, and overall prognosis. Conclusions: Both the SBT and SmartCare withdrawal methods demonstrated a reduction in the duration of MV and LOS in the ICU when compared to the tapering parameter method. Prefabrication has been widely used in bridge construction, for which precast beams are produced from a beam yard and constructed with a cast‐in‐suit bridge deck. The developments recently are focusing on large dimensions or large quantities of beam units, which leads to the inevitable challenge of beam quality control. Among them, beam surface flatness as one of the important indicators for manufacturing quality needs to be strictly controlled to ensure structural performance. However, the commonly used methods still rely heavily on manually contact‐based inspection, which is not only time‐consuming but also error‐prone. This paper presents an automated flatness assessment for large quantities of full‐scale precast beams by using terrestrial laser scanning techniques. Through axis calibration, target surface segmentation, and flatness deviation calculation, flatness deviations of the segmented surfaces from the point cloud of the entire beam are calculated, and colored maps are generated to visually assess the flatness quality. The proposed approach was applied to numerical simulated models as well as laboratory‐scale specimens for accuracy validation. Besides, its processing time was also compared to conventional contact‐based inspection during a field test. Moreover, efforts are devoted to applying the proposed method on nearly a thousand precast beams in an in‐field bridge construction project. Carbon‐based metal‐free electrocatalysts have been recognized as inexpensive alternatives to afford excellent activity in oxygen reduction/evolution reactions (ORR/OER). Nevertheless, precisely identifying the local active sites and tailoring the corresponding electronic properties to enhance the reaction kinetics remain challenging. Herein, a facile strategy to create a metal‐free electrocatalyst comprised of a mesoporous nitrogen‐doped carbon matrix with phosphorus incorporation (NPC) is described. The as‐prepared NPC‐950 electrocatalyst demonstrates superior ORR activity under alkaline and acidic conditions with half‐wave potentials of 0.88 and 0.72 V, respectively, comparable to commercial Pt/C (0.85 and 0.76 V) and overwhelmingly superior to other N‐doped carbon catalyst materials. In addition, a remarkable promotion of OER activity under alkaline conditions is observed. Notably, a zinc–air battery equipped with this NCP‐950 electrocatalyst exhibits exceptional performance in peak power density, specific capacity, and long‐term operation durability. Theoretical calculations uncover that the incorporation of phosphorus in NC material results in effective charge density redistribution, thus modulating the electronic properties of active sites to achieve optimum adsorption and desorption of ORR intermediates. The work provides a deep understanding of active sites in heteroatom‐doped carbon materials and highlights the importance of the electronic properties modulation in oxygen bifunctional electrocatalytic activity. With the implementation of plastic restrictions and the increasingly serious problem of environmental pollution, paper with green and recyclable characteristics is gradually becoming a substitute for packaging materials. However, the rich cellulose structure in the paper, which contains hydroxyl groups leading to its hydrophilicity, allows water molecules to penetrate the paper and disrupt the hydrogen bonds between cellulose, resulting in a decrease in mechanical properties. Therefore, waterproof coatings are crucial for paper‐based materials to be used in many applications. Based on this, the paper surface was chemically modified with castor oil‐based resin (CO‐590) monomer prepared by coupling agent and castor oil (CO). The results indicated that the modified paper with the contact angle (CA) of 114° had excellent waterproof performance and had a reduction by 40.3% in water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), but also its mechanical increased to 26.9 MPa and the decomposition temperature to 410.5°C. In addition, the coating on its surface could be removed in an alkaline solution and had a possibility to recycle blank paper in the future for manufacturing sustainable production. A novel wideband dual‐band bandstop filter with multi‐transmission zeros and multi‐reflection zeros is presented. It consists of two pairs of symmetric open‐ended coupled lines at two sides and (2N − 1) pairs of coupled‐line sections with an open‐circuited stub in the middle. Through even‐ and odd‐mode analyses, general simultaneous equations for characteristic impedances are derived with the proposed algorithm. By suitably selecting all the design parameters, the proposed topology could not only provide a controllable equal‐ripple response in the passband but also control the stopband rejection, bandwidth (BW), and centre frequency ratio in the stopband flexibly. For verification, one prototype circuit is finally fabricated and measured in the experiment. Apparent treatment‐resistant hypertension (aTRH), defined as blood pressure (BP) that remains uncontrolled despite unconfirmed concurrent treatment with three antihypertensives, is associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular and renal complications compared with controlled hypertension. We aimed to identify the characteristics of aTRH patients with an elevated risk of major adverse cardiovascular events plus (MACE+; defined as stroke, myocardial infarction, or heart failure hospitalization) and end stage renal disease (ESRD). This retrospective cohort study included aTRH patients (BP ≥140/90 mmHg and taking ≥3 antihypertensives) from the United States–based Optum® de‐identified Electronic Health Record dataset and used machine learning models to identify risk factors of MACE+ or ESRD. Patients had claims for ≥3 antihypertensive classes within 30 days between January 1, 2015 and June 30, 2021, and two office BP measures recorded 1–90 days apart within 30 days to 11 months after the index regimen date. Of a total 18 797 070 patients identified with any hypertension, 71 100 patients had aTRH. During the study period (mean 25.5 months), 4944 (7.0%) patients had a MACE+ and 2403 (3.4%) developed ESRD. In total, 22 risk factors were included in the MACE+ model and 16 in the ESRD model, and most were significantly associated with study outcomes. The risk factors with the largest impact on MACE+ risk were congestive heart failure, stages 4 and 5 chronic kidney disease (CKD), age ≥80 years, and living in the Southern region of the United States. The risk factors with the largest impact on ESRD risk, other than pre‐existing CKD, were anemia, congestive heart failure, and type 2 diabetes. The overall study cohort had a 5‐year predicted MACE+ risk of 13.4%; this risk was increased in those in the top 50% and 25% high‐risk groups (21.2% and 29.5%, respectively). The overall study cohort had a predicted 5‐year risk of ESRD of 6.8%, which was increased in the top 50% and 25% high‐risk groups (10.9% and 17.1%, respectively). We conclude that risk models developed in our study can reliably identify patients with aTRH at risk of MACE+ and ESRD based on information available in electronic health records; such models may be used to identify aTRH patients at high risk of adverse outcomes who may benefit from novel treatment interventions. In this study, a homogeneous bilayer structure featuring precisely defined interlayer twist angles is meticulously engineered by stacking monolayer single‐crystal MoS2 in a controlled, layer‐by‐layer manner. Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) reveals an unexpected lattice reconstruction, particularly at twist angles of ≤ 2°, which induces the emergence of expansive rhombohedral‐stacked large triangular domains. Furthermore, a second‐harmonic generation (SHG) is utilized as a sensitive modality to demonstrate profound transformations in the local electron band structures. By combining the linear spectra with SHG, the change in the C‐exciton optical response in the band‐nesting region of the small‐angle twisted bilayer MoS2 before and after crossing a critical twist angle of 2° is discussed. Due to the inherent high dark current of photoelectrochemical (PEC)‐type photodetectors (PDs), there is a tricky challenge to detect weak light. In this work, high‐quality Cd0.9Pb0.1Se quantum dots (CPS QDs) are prepared by thermal injection method, with horizontal size of 6.3 nm and thickness of 3.5 nm. The CPS QDs are directly utilized to construct the working electrode of PEC‐type PDs. The effects of experimental parameters on the photo‐response behavior are systematically studied, and optimized photocurrent density of 7.1 µA cm−2 and photo‐responsivity (Rph) of 2.75 mA·W−1 are achieved. Most importantly, the obvious photocurrent signals are observed under a light power density as low as 5.6 µW cm−2. For this interesting weak light detection, apparent Rph of 6.96 mA·W−1, detectivity of 1.2 × 109 Jones, and external quantum efficiency of 2.37% are achieved. For liver intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) data acquisition, respiratory‐triggering (RT) MRI is commonly used, and there are strong motivations to shorten the scan duration. For the same scan duration, more b values or higher numbers of excitations can be allowed for free‐breathing (FB) imaging than for RT. We studied whether FB can be used to replace RT when careful IVIM image acquisition and image processing are conducted. MRI data of 22 healthy participants were acquired using a 3.0 T scanner. Diffusion imaging was based on a single‐shot spin‐echo‐type echo‐planar sequence and 16 b values of 0, 2, 4, 7, 10, 15, 20, 30, 46, 60, 72, 100, 150, 200, 400, and 600 s/mm2. Each subject attended two scan sessions with an interval of 10–20 days. For each scan session, a subject was scanned twice, first with RT and then with FB. The mean image acquisition time was 5.4 min for FB and 10.8 min for RT. IVIM parameters were calculated with bi‐exponential model segmented fitting with a threshold b value of 60 s/mm2, and fitting started from b = 2 s/mm2. There was no statistically significant difference between IVIM parameters measured with FB imaging or RT imaging. Perfusion fraction ICC (intraclass correlation coefficient) for FB imaging and RT imaging in the same scan session was 0.824. For perfusion fraction, wSD (within‐subject standard deviation), BA (Bland–Altman) difference, BA 95% limit, and ICC were 0.022, 0.0001, −0.0635~0.0637, and 0.687 for FB and 0.031, 0.0122, −0.0723~0.0967, and 0.611 for RT. For Dslow (×10−3 s/mm2), wSD, BA difference, BA 95% limit, and ICC were 0.057, 0.0268, −0.1258~0.1793, and 0.471 for FB and 0.073, −0.0078, −0.2170–0.2014, and <0.4 for RT. Liquid crystalline nanoparticles (LC NPs) are a kind of polymer NPs with LC mesogens, which can form special anisotropic morphologies due to the influence of LC ordering. Owing to the stimuli‐responsiveness of the LC blocks, LC NPs show abundant morphology evolution behaviors in response to external regulation. LC NPs have great application potential in nano‐devices, drug delivery, special fibers and other fields. Polymerization‐induced self‐assembly (PISA) method can synthesize LC NPs at high solid content, reducing the harsh demand for reaction solvent of the LC polymers, being a better choice for large‐scale production. In this review, we introduced recent research progress of PISA‐LC NPs by dividing them into several parts according to the LC mesogen, and discussed the improvement of experimental conditions and the potential application of these polymers. To reduce the negative impact of fish oil substitutes on the fatty acid composition of farmed fish, this experiment utilized different types of oils as dietary lipid sources for GIFT tilapia. Tilapia oil (FO) was used as the control, along with corn oil (CO), linseed oil (LO), algae oil (AO), and a mixture of linseed oil and algae oil in various ratios of 1 : 2, 1 : 1, and 2 : 1 (LA12, LA11, and LA21) to reshape the fatty acid profile of GIFT tilapia (0.205 ± 0.005 g) in the muscle. The weight gain and specific growth rate of tilapia in the LO and control groups were significantly higher than in other treatments (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, despite the AO group exhibited the highest docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) content (P < 0.05), it also exhibited the highest levels of malondialdehyde content and superoxide dismutase activity (P < 0.05). The mRNA expression levels of Δ6/Δ5 fatty acyl desaturase 2 (Δ6/Δ5FADs2), Δ4 fatty acyl desaturase 2 (Δ4FADs2), acetyl-CoA carboxylase α (ACCα), and elongase of very long chain fatty acids 5 (ELOVL5) in the hepatopancreas of LO group were exhibited a significant upregulation compared to the control (P < 0.05). The synthesis of DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in the muscles of LA12, LA11, and LA21 groups increased as the proportion of DHA decreased in the diets. In conclusion, the edible value of fatty acids of tilapia muscle, especially n-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, can be significantly improved by adjusting the oil source in the diet through lipid metabolism. Metabolites derived from the intestinal microbiota play an important role in maintaining skeletal muscle growth, function, and metabolism. Here, we found that D-malate (DMA) is produced by mouse intestinal microorganisms and its levels increase during aging. Moreover, we observed that dietary supplementation of 2% DMA inhibits metabolism in mice, resulting in reduced muscle mass, strength, and the number of blood vessels, as well as the skeletal muscle fiber type I/IIb ratio. In vitro assays demonstrate that DMA decreases the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells and suppresses the formation of blood vessels. In vivo, we further demonstrated that boosting angiogenesis by muscular VEGFB injection rescues the inhibitory effects of d-malate on muscle mass and fiber area. By transcriptomics analysis, we identified that the mechanism underlying the effects of DMA depends on the elevated intracellular acetyl-CoA content and increased Cyclin A acetylation rather than redox balance. This study reveals a novel mechanism by which gut microbes impair muscle angiogenesis and may provide a therapeutic target for skeletal muscle dysfunction in cancer or aging. The present study was an 8-week feeding trial investigating the effects of lysine and threonine supplementation in vegetable-based diets on growth, antioxidative capacity, and gut microbiota of juvenile redclaw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus (initial weight 11.52 ± 0.23 g). The lysine and threonine were supplemented to formulate five isonitrogenous (37%) and isolipidic (9%) diets containing 0% (control), 0.2% lysine (L0.2), 0.2% threonine (T0.2), 0.4% lysine (L0.4), and 0.4% threonine (T0.4), respectively. Compared to the control, weight gain rate (WGR) and specific growth rate (SGR) of C. quadricarinatus significantly increased with increasing dietary lysine and threonine supplementation from 0.2% to 0.4% (P < 0.05). Hepatopancreas trypsin activity significantly increased with increasing levels of lysine and threonine in diets (P < 0.05). However, the pepsin, lipase, and amylase activities were not affected by dietary levels of lysine and threonine (P > 0.05). Compared with the control, crayfish in T0.4 and L0.4 showed significantly higher glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity (P < 0.05), lower alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity, and lower malondialdehyde (MDA) content (P < 0.05). Supplementation with 0.4% lysine significantly changed the composition of the gut microbiota (P < 0.05), which showed a significantly increased relative abundance of Proteobacteria and decreased Firmicutes, Actinomycetes, and Pontomyces (P < 0.05). The PICRUSt analysis demonstrated that the abundance of the metabolism and cellular processes pathways in the L0.4 group were markedly decreased compared with the control (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, a tighter interaction of the microbiota community in crayfish was observed in the T0.4 experimental group. In conclusion, these results suggested that dietary supplementation with 0.4% threonine could significantly promote growth and improve microbial health in juvenile C. quadricarinatus. This article investigated the multifaceted role of artists in educational programmes, focusing on the challenges they face while balancing their identity as artist‐teacher, artist teacher, artist‐educator, and artist educator. This research was conducted in two phases. Phase one interrogated the effectiveness of artists taking on dual roles as both artists and educators/teachers within international and New Zealand's educational programmes. This phase advocated for artists to embrace their original role as artists without the additional burdens of other roles. Moving to phase two, this research employed the method of document analysis to investigate the historical and current engagement of artists in students' museum education within the context of New Zealand. Historically, artists were considered as art technicians with no direct involvement in art teaching or creation. Although the current LEOTC and ELC programmes in New Zealand value artists' contributions to art education, they do not indicate artists' involvement in these two programmes. Drawing from the findings of phase one and two, the study proposed a novel model that emphasises the integration of three elements: learning environment (art museum), people (artists), and objects (artworks). This model suggested that the combined action of these three elements could lead to a transformation from teacher‐led teaching to student‐centred learning in art education. Such a transition held the potential to enrich students' educational experience through collaborative efforts between artists, museum educators, and schoolteachers, and also enhance students' interdisciplinary learning experiences. Accurate detection of power lines in aerial images is of great significance in ensuring grid security. However, complex power line scenarios and the thin and light structure of power lines both make it difficult to detect power lines accurately. Most of the existing approaches use traditional deep learning methods, using networks with a large number of parameters, computation, and memory occupation, thus making them not lightweight enough to perform on mobile devices. Based on this, a lightweight power line detection network based on direction consistency and location attention is proposed. The network is designed with a coordinate-aware feature extraction layer, which performs feature extraction by four-layer stacking to achieve faster inference speed while ensuring the network has fewer parameters. This layer is also able to sense the coordinates of the center pixel of the convolution in the image during the convolution process, thus preserving the location information of the power lines. In order to enhance the power line representation, a two-stage context-guided module is later utilized to simultaneously learn local features, surrounding context, and global context. Then, the features are input into a Gaussian kernel estimation module and features are aggregated in the corresponding directions through Gaussian kernels of eight different directions. The main directions of the power lines in the image and the corresponding Gaussian convolution kernels are obtained by filtering the feature responses. In addition, a kernel-guided decoder module is proposed to take advantage of the estimated power line features in the main direction of Gaussian kernel aggregation. This module can effectively enhance the power line representation and maintain the continuity of power lines. Meanwhile, low-level features are introduced to recover the edge details to realize high performance in distinguishing dense power lines. Both ablation experiments and comparison experiments on the transmission towers and power lines aerial-image and Power Line Aerial Image Dataset show that the proposed power line detection network has a good segmentation performance in complex scenarios. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and safety of a 5-mm absorbable clips applied in thoracoscopic anatomical lung resection in younger children. Methods: Demographic data and intra- and postoperative parameters of the two groups (Abs-o-lock® group and Hem-o-lok® group) were reviewed. In the Abs-o-lock® group, 5-mm absorbable clips were used in thoracoscopic anatomical lung resection on all patients from January 2020 to March 2021. In the Hem-o-lok® group, 5-mm Hem-o-lok® clips were used from January to December 2019. The primary outcomes were the one-time success rate of ligation, major bleeding rate, intraoperative dislodgement rate and operative time, which were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 224 patients involved in this study, of whom 103 were in the Abs-o-lock® group and 121 were in the Hem-o-lok® group. The one-time success rate of ligation was 96.5% in the Abs-o-lock® group and 98.9% in the Hem-o-lok® group (p < 0.05). No major bleeding occurred in either group. The intraoperative dislodgement rate did not significantly differ between the two groups (p = 1.0). The operative time consumed in the Abs-o-lock® group was much longer than that in the Hem-o-lok® group for subgroups of resection of extralobar sequestration (p < 0.05), lobectomy (p < 0.05) and segmentectomy (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Compared to Hem-o-lok® clips, it is feasible and safe to apply 5-mm absorbable clips for vessel sealing during thoracoscopic anatomical lung resection in younger children. Therapy with chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR‐T) cells involves using reformative T lymphocytes that have three domains, antigen recognition, transmembrane, and costimulating to achieve the therapeutic purpose. CAR‐T therapy on malignant hematologic has been successful; however, its effectiveness in patients with solid tumors is still limited. Few studies exist confirming the efficacy of natural products on the function of CAR‐T cells. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of gastrodin (GAS) on CAR‐T cells that target interleukin‐13 receptor α2 antigen (IL‐13Rα2 CAR‐T) in the brain against glioblastoma multiforme. Migration of IL‐13Rα2 CAR‐T was evaluated using the Transwell assay. The effects of GAS on IL‐13Rα2 CAR‐T cells were assessed both in vitro and situ glioblastoma models. The cytoskeleton was stained with Fluorescein 5‐isothiocyanate (FITC)‐phalloidin. Cytokines expression in cells was determined by flow cytometry and ELISA assay. Western blotting was used to detect the S1P1 expression, and quantitative PCR assay was used to determine the IL‐13Rα2 gene level. GAS increased the migratory and destructive capacity of IL‐13Rα2 CAR‐T cells with no effect on cytokine release. By increasing the expression of S1P1, GAS encouraged the entry of CAR‐T cells into the brain and bone marrow. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that genes related to skeletal migration such as add2 and gng8 showed increased expression in GAS‐treated CAR‐T cells. We found that GAS synergistically improves the mobility of IL‐13Rα2 CAR‐T, enhancing their ability to recognize the tumor antigen of glioblastoma, which could be advantageous for the application of CAR‐T for the treatment of solid tumors. Alkalinity stress is the main stress experienced by aquatic animals in saline–alkali water, which hinders the aquaculture development and the utilization of water resources. The two-factor (2 × 3) test was adopted to study the influence of dietary protein to carbohydrate ratios on the energy metabolism of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) under different alkalinity stress levels. Three diets with different protein-carbohydrate ratios (P27/C35, P35/C25, and P42/C15) were fed to fish cultured in freshwater (FW, 1.3 mmol/L carbonate alkalinity) or alkaline water (AW, 35.7 mmol/L carbonate alkalinity) for 50 days. Ambient alkalinity decreased tilapia growth performance. Although ambient alkalinity caused oxidative stress and enhanced ion transport and ammonia metabolism in tilapia, tilapia fed the P27/C35 diet showed better adaptability than fish fed the other two diets in alkaline water. Further metabolomic analysis showed that tilapia upregulated all the pathways enriched in this study to cope with alkalinity stress. Under alkalinity stress, tilapia fed the P27/C35 diet exhibited enhanced pyruvate metabolism and purine metabolism compared with tilapia fed the P42/C15 diet. This study indicated that ambient alkalinity could significantly decrease growth performance and cause oxidative stress and osmotic regulation. However, reducing dietary protein content by increasing carbohydrates could weaken stress and improve growth performance, ion transport, and ammonia metabolism in tilapia under long-term hyperalkaline exposure. The necessity for the development and enhancement of teacher commitment to satisfying students' learning needs in response to the COVID crisis is increasingly highlighted. It is not known, however, how to increase commitment in schoolteachers to boost online teaching in light of the fact that they, too, are struggling to cope with the rapid, unexpected change. A total of 601 teachers from primary and secondary schools across China participated in this study, with an average teaching experience of 15.9 years. Structural equation modelling was used to verify the significance of contextual, cognitive, affective and behavioural factors in boosting teachers' commitment to online teaching. The findings demonstrated that teacher agency played a complete mediating role in the predicting power of other factors to teacher commitment. Introduction: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a central nervous system injury that is primarily traumatic and manifests as motor, sensory, and autonomic dysfunction below the level of damage. Our previous studies confirmed the ability of zinc to protect mitochondria, protect neurons and promote spinal cord recovery. However, the role of zinc in Parthanatos is unknown. Aim: We investigated the effects of zinc in Parthanatos from oxidative stress and mitophagy. We elucidated the role of SIRT3 in providing new ideas for treating spinal cord injury. The Results: Zinc protected SCI mice by regulating Parthanatos. On the one hand, zinc eliminated ROS directly through SIRT3 deacetylation targeting SOD2 to alleviate Parthanatos. On the other hand, zinc eliminated ROS indirectly through SIRT3‐mediated promotion of mitophagy to alleviate Parthanatos. Conclusion: Zinc defends against Parthanatos and promotes functional recovery after spinal cord injury through SIRT3‐mediated anti‐oxidative stress and mitophagy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Insect olfactory receptors (iORs) with atypical 7‐transmembrane domains, unlike Chordata olfactory receptors, are not in the GPCR protein family. iORs selectively bind to volatile ligands in the environment and affect essential insect behaviors. In this study, we constructed a new platform (iORbase, https://www.iorbase.com) for the structural and functional analysis of iORs based on a combined algorithm for gene annotation and protein structure prediction. Moreover, it provides the option to calculate the binding affinities and binding residues between iORs and pheromone molecules by virtual screening of docking. Furthermore, iORbase supports the automatic structural and functional prediction of user‐submitted iORs or pheromones. iORbase contains the well‐analyzed results of approximately 6 000 iORs and their 3D protein structures identified from 59 insect species and 2 077 insect pheromones from the literature, as well as approximately 12 million pairs of simulated interactions between functional iORs and pheromones. We also built 4 online modules, iORPDB, iInteraction, iModelTM, and iOdorTool to easily retrieve and visualize the 3D structures and interactions. iORbase can help greatly improve the experimental efficiency and success rate, identify new insecticide targets, or develop electronic nose technology. This article is concerned with data‐driven analysis and controller design for continuous‐time sampled‐data systems. The linear system considered in this paper is controlled under the periodic event‐triggering transmission mechanism. Firstly, the periodic event‐triggered control (PETC) systems are modeled and analyzed by the time‐delay approach. And model‐based stability conditions are presented by invoking the Lyapunov stability approach. Secondly, based on the model‐based conditions and a popular data‐based representation, data‐based stability criteria are deduced by using only noisy data. The stability criteria guarantee the stability properties robustly for all unknown systems consistent with the measured data. The data‐driven estimation of the maximum detecting interval (MDI) is also obtained directly without model knowledge. Beyond that, the data‐based method for the controller design as well as computing a possibly large MDI under various triggering parameters is put forth. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is demonstrated by the numerical simulation and the hardware‐in‐the‐loop (HIL) experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To alleviate the environmental pollution caused by waste wind turbine blades and provide new ideas for recycling, the thermochemical characteristics of four basic components of composite materials commonly used in wind turbine blades were studied in this paper. Thermogravimetric experiments in different atmospheres and heating rates, and thermogravimetric‐infrared combined experiments were carried out. The results show that the reaction of epoxy resin and thermoplastic polyurethane was easy and deep in N2 and CO2. Except for glass fiber, the other three components showed different combustion characteristics in air. The maximum reaction rates and activation energy of resin‐based components in N2 increased with increasing heating rate. The pyrolysis products of the four basic components all contained CO2 and CO, and some aromatic substances could be generated during the thermal transformation of epoxy resin and thermoplastic polyurethane. It can be concluded that the thermal transformation properties of the basic components of the composite material of wind turbine blades can be used to treat the waste blades, making the resin as the matrix material undergo a thermal transformation reaction and recover the fiber. The catalytic performance of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in Li‐S batteries is significantly hindered by unsuitable pore size, low conductivity, and large steric contact hindrance between the catalytic site and lithium polysulfide (LPSs). Herein, the smallest π‐conjugated hexaaminobenzene (HAB) as linker and Ni(II) ions as skeletal node are in situ assembled into high crystallinity Ni‐HAB 2D conductive MOFs with dense Ni‐N4 units via dsp2 hybridization on the surface of carbon nanotube (CNT), fabricating Ni‐HAB@CNT as separator modified layer in Li‐S batteries. As‐obtained unique π‐d conjugated Ni‐HAB nanostructure features ordered micropores with suitable pore size (≈8 Å) induced by HAB ligands, which can cooperate with dense Ni‐N4 chemisorption sites to effectively suppress the shuttle effect. Meanwhile, the conversion kinetics of LPSs is significantly accelerated owing to the small steric contact hindrance and increased delocalized electron density endued by the planar tetracoordinate structure. Consequently, the Li‐S battery with Ni‐HAB@CNT modified separator achieves an areal capacity of 6.29 mAh cm−2 at high sulfur loading of 6.5 mg cm−2 under electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 5 µL mg−1. Moreover, Li‐S single‐electrode pouch cells with modified separators deliver a high reversible capacity of 791 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles at 0.1 C with electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 6 µL mg−1. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) phosphorylated tau231 (P‐tau231) is associated with neuropathological outcomes of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The invasive access of cerebrospinal fluid has greatly stimulated interest in the identification of blood‐based P‐tau231, and the recent advent of single‐molecule array assay for the quantification of plasma P‐tau231 may provide a turning point to evaluate the usefulness of P‐tau231 as an AD‐related biomarker. Yet, in the plasma P‐tau231 literature, findings with regard to its diagnostic utility have been inconsistent, and thus, we aimed to statistically investigate the potential of plasma P‐tau231 in the context of AD via meta‐analysis. Publications on plasma P‐tau231 were systematically retrieved from PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane library and Web of Science databases. A total of 10 studies covering 2007 participants were included, and we conducted random‐effect or fixed‐effect meta‐analysis, sensitivity analysis and publication bias analysis using the STATA SE 14.0 software. According to our quantitative integration, plasma P‐tau231 increased from cognitively unimpaired (CU) populations to mild cognitive impairment to AD and showed significant changes in pairwise comparisons of AD, mild cognitive impairment and CU. Plasma P‐tau231 level was significantly higher in CU controls with positive amyloid‐β (Aβ) status compared with Aβ‐negative CU group. Additionally, the excellent diagnostic accuracy of plasma P‐tau231 for asymptomatic Aβ pathology was verified by the pooled value of area under the receiver operating characteristic curves (standard mean difference [95% confidence interval]:.75 [.69,.81], P < 0.00001). Although KMT2D, also known as MLL2, is known to play an essential role in development, differentiation, and tumor suppression, its role in pancreatic cancer development is not well understood. Here, we discovered a novel signaling axis mediated by KMT2D, which links TGF‐β to the activin A pathway. We found that TGF‐β upregulates a microRNA, miR‐147b, which in turn leads to post‐transcriptional silencing of KMT2D. Loss of KMT2D induces the expression and secretion of activin A, which activates a noncanonical p38 MAPK‐mediated pathway to modulate cancer cell plasticity, promote a mesenchymal phenotype, and enhance tumor invasion and metastasis in mice. We observed a decreased KMT2D expression in human primary and metastatic pancreatic cancer. Furthermore, inhibition or knockdown of activin A reversed the protumoral role of KMT2D loss. These findings support a tumor‐suppressive role of KMT2D in pancreatic cancer and identify miR‐147b and activin A as novel therapeutic targets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are key mediators with a wide range of pathophysiological functions, but their role in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still unclear. Methods: An unbiased microarray study evaluated a novel lncRNA, HClnc1, that is linked to the development of HCC. In vitro cell proliferation assays and an in vivo xenotransplanted HCC tumor model were performed to determine its functions, followed by antisense oligo‐coupled mass spectrometry to identify HClnc1‐interacting proteins. To study relevant signaling pathways, in vitro experiments were performed, including chromatin isolation by RNA purification, RNA immunoprecipitation, luciferase, and RNA pull‐down assay. Results: HClnc1 levels were considerably greater in patients with advanced tumor‐node‐metastatic stages, and it was found to be inversely connected to survival rates. Moreover, the proliferative and invasive potential of the HCC cells was attenuated by HClnc1 RNA knockdown in vitro, while HCC tumor growth and metastasis were found to be reduced in vivo. HClnc1 interacted with pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) to prevent its degradation and thus facilitated aerobic glycolysis and PKM2‐STAT3 signaling. Conclusions: HClnc1 is involved in a novel epigenetic mechanism of HCC tumorigenesis and PKM2 regulation.
