Metal halide perovskites, both lead‐based and lead‐free variants, have emerged as highly versatile materials with widespread applications across various fields, including photovoltaics, optoelectronics, and photocatalysis. This review provides a succinct overview of the recent advancements in the utilization of lead and lead‐free halide perovskites specifically in photocatalysis. We explore the diverse range of photocatalytic reactions enabled by metal halide perovskites, including organic transformations, carbon dioxide reduction, pollutant degradation, and hydrogen production. We highlight key developments, mechanistic insights, and challenges in the field, offering our perspectives on the future research directions and potential applications. By summarizing recent findings from the literature, this review aims to provide a timely resource for researchers interested in harnessing the full potential of metal halide perovskites for sustainable and efficient photocatalytic processes. The electrochemical conversion of low‐concentration CO2 feedstock to value‐added chemicals and fuels is a promising pathway for achieving direct valorization of waste gas streams. However, this is challenging due to significant competition from the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and lowered CO2 reduction (CO2R) kinetics as compared to systems that employ pure CO2. Here we show that terephthalic acid (TPA) functionalization can boost selectivity towards CO2R and suppress HER over a range of catalysts including Bi, Cu and Zn. For instance, TPA functionalized Bi attained a formate Faradaic efficiency (FEHCOO‐) of 96.3 % at 300 mA cm−2 with pure CO2 feedstock. Density functional theory simulations indicate that this is because TPA functionalization modulates the binding energies of the key reaction intermediates *OCHO and *H. With low‐concentration feedstock (15 % CO2) at 100 mA cm−2, we achieved a high FEHCOO‐ of 85.8 %, which was double that of an unmodified Bi catalyst. Using an electrolyzer with a porous solid electrolyte layer, we successfully showcase 30 h of continuous high‐purity formic acid production with a 5 % CO2 feed. Taken together, our findings demonstrate that molecular tuning of a catalyst can be an effective strategy for enabling selective CO2R using low‐concentration feedstock. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Intercropping, particularly within legume‐based systems, has been shown to enhance yields and optimize resource use efficiency. Yet, the potential contribution of intercropping on soil microbial communities and functions to soil nutrients cycling are not fully understood. We conducted the same field experiments at Youyu (Site1) and Zhangbei (Site2) in Northern China to evaluate the impact of oat/soybean intercropping on the rhizosphere soil bacterial community structure, composition, and co‐occurrence networks. Our results indicated that intercropping significantly modified the bacterial community structure for both oat and soybean at Site1, with changes observed only in the oat community at Site2. Specifically, intercropping led to a substantial increase in the relative abundance of Bacteroidetes and Patescibacteria in the oat rhizosphere by 48.3% and 65.4% (Site1), respectively. Conversely, in the soybean rhizosphere at Site1, there was a notable decrease in the abundance of Patescibacteria and Nitrospirae by 32.4% and 40.0%, respectively. The soil bacterial functional groups demonstrated robust positive correlations with key soil parameters such as available nitrogen (Nmin), available phosphorus (Avail‐P), and the activities of nitrogen‐ and phosphorus‐acquiring enzymes in the rhizosphere. In conclusion, intercropping is an effective agricultural practice for enhancing nitrogen and phosphorus cycling by reshaping the soil bacterial community, offering a distinct advantage over monoculture practices. Tiller angle is a key agricultural trait that establishes plant architecture, which in turn strongly affects grain yield by influencing planting density in rice. The shoot gravity response plays a crucial role in the regulation of tiller angle in rice, but the underlying molecular mechanism is largely unknown. Here, we report the identification of the BIG TILLER ANGLE2 (BTA2), which regulates tiller angle by controlling the shoot gravity response in rice. Loss‐of‐function mutation of BTA2 dramatically reduced auxin content and affected auxin distribution in rice shoot base, leading to impaired gravitropism and therefore a big tiller angle. BTA2 interacted with AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR7 (ARF7) to modulate rice tiller angle through the gravity signaling pathway. The BTA2 protein was highly conserved during evolution. Sequence variation in the BTA2 promoter of indica cultivars harboring a less expressed BTA2 allele caused lower BTA2 expression in shoot base and thus wide tiller angle during rice domestication. Overexpression of BTA2 significantly increased grain yield in the elite rice cultivar Huanghuazhan under appropriate dense planting conditions. Our findings thus uncovered the BTA2‐ARF7 module that regulates tiller angle by mediating the shoot gravity response. Purpose: To investigate axial elongation (AE) and changes in relative peripheral refraction (RPR) in anisomyopic children undergoing orthokeratology (ortho‐k). Methods: Bilateral anisomyopic children, 7–12 years of age, were treated with ortho‐k. Axial length (AL) and RPR, from 30° nasal (N30°) to 30° temporal (T30°), were measured at baseline and every 6 months over the study period. AE, changes in RPR and changes in the interocular AL difference were determined over time. Results: Twenty‐six of the 33 subjects completed the 2‐year study. The AE of the higher myopic (HM) eyes (at least 1.50 D more myopia than the other eye) (0.26 ± 0.29 mm) was significantly smaller than for the less myopic (LM) eyes (0.50 ± 0.27 mm; p = 0.003), leading to a reduction in the interocular difference in AL (p = 0.001). Baseline RPR measurements in the HM eyes were relatively more hyperopic at T30°, N20° and N30° (p ≤ 0.02) and greater myopic shifts were observed at T20° (p < 0.001), T30° (p < 0.001), N20° (p = 0.02) and N30° (p = 0.01) after lens wear. After 2 years of ortho‐k lens wear, temporal–nasal asymmetry increased significantly, being more myopic at the temporal locations in both eyes (p < 0.001), while AE was associated with the change in RPR at N20° (β = 0.134, p = 0.01). The interocular difference in AE was also positively associated with the interocular difference in RPR change at N30° (β = 0.111, p = 0.02). Conclusions: Ortho‐k slowed AE in bilateral anisomyopia, with slower growth in the HM eyes leading to a reduction in interocular AL differences. After ortho‐k, RPR changed from hyperopia to myopia, with greater changes induced in the HM eyes, and slower AE was associated with a more myopic shift in RPR, especially in the nasal field of both eyes. Background: Natural medicines present a considerable analytical challenge due to their diverse botanical origins and complex multi‐species composition. This inherent complexity complicates their rapid identification and analysis. Tangerine peel, a product of the Citrus species from the Rutaceae family, is widely used both as a culinary ingredient and in traditional Chinese medicine. It is classified into two primary types in China: Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CP) and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride (QP), differentiated by harvest time. A notable price disparity exists between CP and another variety, Citri reticulatae "Chachi" (GCP), with differences being based on the original variety. Methods: This study introduces an innovative method using portable miniature mass spectrometry for swift on‐site analysis of QP, CP, and GCP, requiring less than a minute per sample. And combined with machine learning to differentiate the three types on site, the method was used to try to distinguish GCP from different storage years. Results: This novel method using portable miniature mass spectrometry for swift on‐site analysis of tangerine peels enabled the characterization of 22 compounds in less than one minute per sample. The method simplifies sample processing and integrates machine learning to distinguish between the CP, QP, and GCP varieties. Moreover, a multiple‐perceptron neural network model is further employed to specifically differentiate between CP and GCP, addressing the significant price gap between them. Conclusions: The entire analytical time of the method is about 1 minute, and samples can be analyzed on site, greatly reducing the cost of testing. Besides, this approach is versatile, operates independently of location and environmental conditions, and offers a valuable tool for assessing the quality of natural medicines. Guided nanowires grown on polymer surfaces facilitate their seamless integration as flexible devices without post‐growth processing steps. However, this is challenging due to the inability of polymer films to provide the required lattice‐matching effect. In this work, this challenge is addressed by replicating highly aligned nanogrooves from a compact disc (CD) onto a casted flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) surface. Leveraging the replicated nanogrooves, copper hexadecafluorophthalocyanine (F16CuPc) and various metal phthalocyanines are guided into large‐area, self‐aligned nanowires. Subsequently, by employing specifically designed shadow masks during electrode deposition, these nanowires are seamlessly integrated as either a monolithic flexible photodetector with a large sensing area or on‐chip flexible photodetector arrays. The resulting flexible photodetectors exhibit millisecond and long‐term stable response to UV–vis–NIR light. Notably, they demonstrate exceptional bending stability, retaining stable and sensitive photoresponse even at a curvature radius as low as 0.5 cm and after enduring 1000 bending cycles. Furthermore, the photodetector array showcases consistent sensitivity and response speed across the entire array. This work not only proves the viability of guided nanowire growth on flexible polymer surfaces by replicating CD nanogrooves but also underscores the potential for large‐scale monolithic integration of guided nanowires as flexible devices. The irreversible deterioration of electrochemical performance in Ni‐rich cathode materials, attributed to crack propagation and undesired side reactions, poses a critical barrier to the further development of high‐energy power batteries for electrical vehicles (EVs). Herein, a concentration gradient strategy is proposed for synthesizing a Ni‐rich cathode with enhanced mechanical and electrochemical stability to address the issues related to the irreversible structural deterioration. Notably, the concentration gradient structure contributes to superior mechanical strength in secondary particles due to the radially orientated primary particles resulted from Mn composition grading, which effectively alleviate the internal strain caused by structural changes and fatigue destruction during successive cycling. Moreover, the Mn‐rich surface minimizes the parasitic side reactions at the electrode–electrolyte interface. Benefitting from the above, the concentration gradient sample can deliver ≈180.1 mA h g−1 at 1 C and retain 96.2% of its initial discharge capacity after 100 cycles. This work demonstrates that the concentration gradient structure can simultaneously improve the mechanical and chemical stabilities of Ni‐rich cathode and offers a feasible way for designing stable lithium‐ion batteries with high energy density. Background and purpose: Blood pressure variability, in acute stroke, may be an important modifiable determinant of functional outcome after stroke. In a large international cohort of participants with acute stroke, it was sought to determine the association of blood pressure variability (in the early period of admission) and functional outcomes, and to explore risk factors for increased blood pressure variability. Patients and methods: INTERSTROKE is an international case–control study of risk factors for first acute stroke. Blood pressure was recorded at the time of admission, the morning after admission and the time of interview in cases (median time from admission 36.7 h). Multivariable ordinal regression analysis was employed to determine the association of blood pressure variability (standard deviation [SD] and coefficient of variance) with modified Rankin score at 1‐month follow‐up, and logistic regression was used to identify risk factors for blood pressure variability. Results: Amongst 13,206 participants, the mean age was 62.19 ± 13.58 years. When measured by SD, both systolic blood pressure variability (odds ratio 1.13; 95% confidence interval 1.03–1.24 for SD ≥20 mmHg) and diastolic blood pressure variability (odds ratio 1.15; 95% confidence interval 1.04–1.26 for SD ≥10 mmHg) were associated with a significant increase in the odds of poor functional outcome. The highest coefficient of variance category was not associated with a significant increase in risk of higher modified Rankin score at 1 month. Increasing age, female sex, high body mass index, history of hypertension, alcohol use, and high urinary potassium and low urinary sodium excretion were associated with increased blood pressure variability. Conclusion: Increased blood pressure variability in acute stroke, measured by SD, is associated with an increased risk of poor functional outcome at 1 month. Falling from height (FFH) is a significant safety concern in the construction industry. It requires construction safety managers to identify and prevent FFH from occurring as early as possible. However, due to insufficient expertise and the shortage of relevant personnel, it is often challenging to accurately and promptly identify FFH risks, especially those more dangerous ones. To address this issue, we proposed a new identification method for FFH risk points by incorporating BIM, path simulation, and machine learning techniques. Our approach, based on the likelihood exposure consequence criterion, efficiently identified and prioritized hazardous FFH risk points. Unlike prior studies, we emphasized the spatial distribution of workers by incorporating site layout and construction schedule considerations. The algorithm generated a safe routing plan, which was validated in experiments, emphasizing its effectiveness in early detection and mitigation of FFH risks. This research provided a comprehensive approach to FFH risk management that integrates building information modeling, path simulation, and machine learning to comprehensively address FFH risks in construction and generate safe route plans for effective safety management. Lithium metal, with ultrahigh theoretical specific capacity, is considered as an ideal anode material for the lithium‐ion batteries. However, its practical application is severely plagued by the uncontrolled formation of dendritic Li. Here, a cation‐loaded porous Mg2+‐Zeolite layer is proposed to enable the dendrite‐free deposition on the surface of Li metal anode. The skeleton channels of zeolite provide the low coordinated Li+‐solvation groups, leading to the faster desolvation process at the interface. Meanwhile, anions‐involved solvation sheath induces a stable, inorganic‐rich SEI, contributing to the uniform Li+ flux through the interface. Furthermore, the co‐deposition of sustained release Mg2+ realizes a new faster migration pathway, which proactively facilitates the uniform diffusion of Li on the lithium substrate. The synergistic modulation of these kinetic processes facilitates the homogeneous Li plating/stripping behavior. Based on this synergistic mechanism, the high‐efficiency deposition with cyclic longevity exceeding 2100 h is observed in the symmetric Li/Li cell with Mg2+‐Zeolite modified anode at 1 mA cm−2. The pouch cell matched with LiFePO4 cathode fulfills a capacity retention of 88.4% after 100 cycles at a severe current density of 1 C charge/discharge. Polymer‐clay nanocomposites (PCNs) are commonly applied as multi‐functional structural materials with exceptional thermomechanical properties, while maintaining the characteristics of lightweight and optical clarity. In this study, building upon previously developed coarse‐grained (CG) models for nanoclay and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), we employ molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to systematically investigate the thermomechanical properties of PCNs when arranged in stacked configurations. Incorporating stacked clay nanofillers into a polymer matrix, we systematically conduct shear and tensile simulations to investigate the influences of variations in weight percentage, system temperature, and nanoclay size on the thermomechanical properties of PCNs at a fundamental level. The weight percentage of nanoclay in nanocomposites proves to have a significant influence on both the shear and Young's modulus (e.g., the addition of 10 Wt% nanoclay leads to an increase of 32.6% in the Young's modulus), with each exhibiting greater mechanical strength in the in‐plane direction compared to the out‐of‐plane direction, and the disparity between these two directions further widens with an increase in the weight percentage of nanoclay. Furthermore, the increase in the size of nanoclay contributes to an overall modulus enhancement in the composite while the growth reaches a saturation point after a certain threshold of about 10 nm. Our simulation results indicate that the overall dynamics of PMMA are suppressed due to the strong interactions between nanoclay and PMMA, where the confinement effect on local segmental dynamics of PMMA decays from the nanoclay‐polymer interface to the polymer matrix. Our findings provide valuable molecular‐level insights into microstructural and dynamical features of PCNs under deformation, emphasizing the pivotal role of clay‐polymer interface in influencing the thermomechanical properties of the composite materials. Background and purpose: Whilst sleep disturbances are associated with stroke, their association with stroke severity is less certain. In the INTERSTROKE study, the association of pre‐morbid sleep disturbance with stroke severity and functional outcome following stroke was evaluated. Methods: INTERSTROKE is an international case–control study of first acute stroke. This analysis included cases who completed a standardized questionnaire concerning nine symptoms of sleep disturbance (sleep onset latency, duration, quality, nocturnal awakening, napping duration, whether a nap was planned, snoring, snorting and breathing cessation) in the month prior to stroke (n = 2361). Two indices were derived representing sleep disturbance (range 0–9) and obstructive sleep apnoea (range 0–3) symptoms. Logistic regression was used to estimate the magnitude of association between symptoms and stroke severity defined by the modified Rankin Score. Results: The mean age of participants was 62.9 years, and 42% were female. On multivariable analysis, there was a graded association between increasing number of sleep disturbance symptoms and initially severe stroke (2–3, odds ratio [OR] 1.44, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.07–1.94; 4–5, OR 1.66, 95% CI 1.23–2.25; >5, OR 2.58, 95% CI 1.83–3.66). Having >5 sleep disturbance symptoms was associated with significantly increased odds of functional deterioration at 1 month (OR 1.54, 95% CI 1.01–2.34). A higher obstructive sleep apnoea score was also associated with significantly increased odds of initially severe stroke (2–3, OR 1.48; 95% CI 1.20–1.83) but not functional deterioration at 1 month (OR 1.19, 95% CI 0.93–1.52). Conclusions: Sleep disturbance symptoms were common and associated with an increased odds of severe stroke and functional deterioration. Interventions to modify sleep disturbance may help prevent disabling stroke/improve functional outcomes and should be the subject of future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The monolithic integration of bottom‐up nanowires into devices requires rational growth of aligned nanowires. Of the proposed aligned growth methods, few are sufficiently general to be applicable to diverse materials and substrates. In this work, oriented poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) grooves with nanoscale depth and width are transferred onto different substrates through a simple directional mechanical friction. This friction is achieved in a few seconds by a program‐driven handwriting machine. Various organic molecules (e.g., Alq3, NiPc, CoPc, CuPc, F16CuPc) are therefore assembled into oriented crystalline nanowires on the surface of Si, Si/SiO2, and glass. The self‐alignment of these nanowires enables a scalable device fabrication directly on growth substrates, eliminating structural damage and contamination during post‐growth alignment. For example, using the aligned F16CuPc nanowires on PTFE‐coated Si/SiO2 wafers, back‐gate field‐effect phototransistors are fabricated in a scalable manner by directly depositing an array of micro‐sized electrodes. Statistical results show that these phototransistors operate in n‐type enhancement mode with thresholds of a few volts. In addition, they exhibit fast photoresponse on the order of tens of milliseconds and long‐term stability in the vis–NIR spectrum. Nitrogen‐containing corrosion inhibitors have a wide range of promising applications, and current conventional corrosion design and evaluation methods are largely based on empirical speculation and extensive exploratory experiments. Unfortunately, these efforts are often associated with high costs, long lead times, and a lot of "blind work." In this work, we have computationally screened the quantum chemical parameters of five nitrogen‐containing corrosion inhibitor molecules and their corrosion inhibition properties by a molecular simulation method based on density functional theory calculations. The ultimate relationship between the corrosion inhibition efficiency (IE) of an adsorbent and its quantum chemical parameters was analyzed using linear regression by comparing the various quantum mechanical parameters of each inhibitor molecule, as well as the fraction of electrons (ΔN) that are transferred to the metal surface from the chemisorbed inhibitor molecule. Five different nitrogen‐containing corrosion inhibitor molecules were screened based on structural similarity. Meanwhile, their corrosion inhibition performance was evaluated using the most relevant structure–activity equations. The results showed that the synergistic effect between the corrosion inhibition performance and the orbital energies of highest occupied molecular orbital and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital was optimal under the HF/6‐31G(d) method, and the corresponding structure–activity relationship was established. Based on these results, a specific inhibitor molecule was found to have excellent corrosion inhibition performance with a predicted corrosion IE of up to 94.12 %. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The simultaneous control of the orientation and position of organic semiconductor nanowires remains a major challenge when integrating them into monolithic devices. In this study, tris(8‐hydroxyquinoline)aluminum(III) (Alq3) molecules are self‐assembled into single‐crystalline nanowires with consistent orientation and predictable positions by selective‐area graphoepitaxial growth. The nanowire orientation is determined by parallel nanogrooves on a periodically modified faceted sapphire surface, and the position is simultaneously defined using a shadow mask. Computational fluid dynamics simulations showed that the mass flow field over the sapphire surface is tailored by the mask, resulting in preferential nanowire nucleation around the hole centers and leaving sufficient free space for the subsequent growth. Accordingly, the number, length, and density of the nanowires can be controlled by adjusting the mask layout. The good alignment and predictable positions of these nanowires facilitated their subsequent device integration, eliminating laborious assembly steps and potential damage after nanowire growth. Measurements from an in situ integrated two‐terminal device based on the Alq3 nanowires revealed that the nanowires exhibit a remarkable negative differential resistance and fast photoresponse in the UV region. Overall, selective‐area graphoepitaxial growth provides a versatile protocol for fabricating site‐ and orientation‐controlled organic semiconductor nanowires for the monolithic fabrication of nanowire‐based devices. Carbon‐based nanoparticles are widely regarded as promising nanofillers in nanocomposites to pursue advanced properties. To date, there has been a lack of systematic investigation into the structural variations of nanofillers and their influences on dispersion characteristics, as well as the resulting mechanical properties of nanocomposites. In this study, nanodiamond (ND), carbon nanotube (CNT), and graphene (GNP) were selected as the representative zero‐, one‐, and two‐dimensional nanofillers, respectively. A novel functionalization technique utilizing carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) was employed to disperse nanofillers. The various characterization techniques and experimental results revealed that CMC functionalization was effective in reducing the agglomeration and improving the distribution uniformity of all three nanofillers. Among the three nanofillers, zero‐dimensional ND exhibited the most homogeneous dispersion quality in epoxy nanocomposites. The strongest abrasion resistance was found in ND‐reinforced epoxy nanocomposites, while CNT‐reinforced epoxy nanocomposites exhibited the best tensile properties. In this paper, Salen‐Ni basis polyphosphazene microsphere (Salen‐PZN‐Ni), boric acid (BA), and 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (KH‐550) were used as raw materials to prepare a new flame retardant Salen‐PZN‐Ni@BA@KH‐550 by surface modification. The thermal and flame retardant properties of epoxy resin (EP) composites were studied. The introduction of Salen‐PZN‐Ni@BA@KH‐550 refined the thermal stability of EP composites, as well as the amount of carbon residue at 800°C. At 5 wt% of Salen‐PZN‐Ni@BA@KH‐550, the limiting oxygen index (LOI) of EP composites is increased from 25.4% to 30.5% and UL‐94 has been achieved with a V‐1 rating. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties of Salen‐PZN‐Ni@BA@KH‐550/EP composites were also improved. In addition, the good char formation ability of Salen‐PZN‐Ni@BA@KH‐550 caused the reduction of peak heat release rate, total heat release rate, maximum average heat release rate and total smoke generation of the EP composites. A novel functional copulatory polyphosphazene microsphere (Salen‐PZN‐Ni‐KH550) was successfully synthesized via reaction of the surface of Salen‐Ni‐based polyphosphazene (Salen‐PZN‐Ni) with 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane, and it was introduced as an additive flame retardant in pure epoxy resin (EP). Thereafter, the effects of the prepared flame‐retardant Salen‐PZN‐Ni‐KH550 on thermal stability, combustion performance, and flame‐retardant mechanism of the EP system were studied in detail. The addition of Salen‐PZN‐Ni‐KH550 led to a significant increase in thermal stability and formation of carbon residue in the EP at a temperature of 800°C. The results showed that the addition of 5 wt% Salen‐PZN‐Ni‐KH550 lowered the maximum heat release rate, as well as the peak smoke release rate by 28.83% and 25.71%, respectively. This resulted in a significant improvement in the fire safety of EP. Additionally, the introduction of Salen‐PZN‐Ni‐KH550 considerably inhibited the evolution of the toxic gas CO and of other volatile products that are produced during the decomposition process of EP. The results of study suggest that mechanism of the flame retardant may be associated to gas‐phase quenching, incombustible gas release, synergistic catalytic carbonization effect and to the formation of components with extremely high thermal stability. The fire safety of EP composites and the reduction of toxic gases can be attributed to the synergistic effects of nickel, APTES, and polyphosphazene microspheres. Recent research suggests that targeted promotions have positive effects on targeted customers and negative effects on untargeted customers. However, the advent of market transparency increases the likelihood of untargeted customers' negative reactions reaching targeted customers. We examine this issue with four online experiments and find that for promotions targeted on infrequent customers, exposure (vs. no exposure) to negative word‐of‐mouth (WOM) from untargeted frequent customers does not affect targeted infrequent customers' current purchase intentions, but does reduce their intentions to remain with the marketer. Furthermore, we identify two moderators, such that when managers mention luck in the promotion delivery stage and when managers respond to negative online word‐of mouth (eWOM) from untargeted frequent customers and mention promotions targeted on frequent customers, they mitigate this negative effect. Our findings offer a new direction for the undesired effect of targeted promotions and identify the possibility that WOM diffusion reduces targeted customers' retention. We also provide valuable managerial insights on how to mitigate the negative effects of targeted promotions by framing the promotion as a result of luck, and by responding to and mentioning promotions targeted on frequent customers to negative eWOM from untargeted customers. As scaling down to the nanoscale, the dramatically increased morphological deviation between nanostructures becomes a major challenge in implementing large‐scale nanodevices. On the other side of the coin, the often‐undesirable rich non‐repeatable randomness introduced during nanostructure growth and subsequent device fabrication is of great value in the implementation of physically unclonable functions (PUF), a booming innovative security primitive. Herein, it is shown that the self‐oriented organic nanowires grown on a faceted surface through a vapor transport process are advanced building blocks for the implementation of two novel PUFs. An optical PUF is first demonstrated by exploiting the unclonable morphological randomness of the self‐oriented nanowires (e.g., length, thickness, density, and location), which can provide an entity‐specific primary encryption for nanowire devices. Next, these nanowires are integrated into photodetector arrays directly on their growth substrate and accordingly enable an electrical PUF based on the inherent resistance variation between detector cells. Furthermore, by combining these two PUFs, a secondary encryption with higher security is proposed for information communication. The implementation of nanowire‐based PUFs not only opens a new device direction to exploit the annoying unclonable randomness of bottom‐up nanowires, but also provides innovative label‐free security primitives for emerging nanowire‐based devices and systems. The urgent desire for Halon substitution has initiated the development of potential environment friendly alternatives since the Montreal Protocol and subsequent amendments were introduced. Atmospheric degradable agents such as halogenated alkenes, fluorinated ketones and cyclic compounds have been extensively studied. Among them, perfluoro‐(4‐methyl‐2‐pentene) (C6F12) has an analogous structure to C6F12O (Novec 1230) and has been regarded as one kind of potential substitute. In this paper, the main decomposition kinetics of C6F12 are studied numerically. In addition, the interactions between C6F12 and flames are studied experimentally. The results show that the suppression effectiveness of C6F12 is comparable to C6F12O, and the temperature rise is not obvious. The low chemical reactivity is believed to be caused by the perfluorinated methyl and isopropyl groups adjacent to olefinic carbon decreasing the reactivity of C6F12 toward OH radicals. Chemical kinetics simulation indicates that H‐induced reactions dominate the initial decomposition of C6F12, and a lot of isomers will be formed via a series of isomerization reactions and subsequent decomposition reactions at high temperature. Due to the severe damage of Halon to the stratospheric ozone layer, the urgent need for substitutions for Halon has driven the search for potential alternatives. As a perfluoroolefin substance, R1216 (1,1,2,3,3,3‐hexafluoro‐1‐propene) has a similar chemical structure to the widely used 2‐bromo‐3,3,3‐trifluoro‐1‐ene (CF3CBrCH2, 2‐BTP) extinguishants. This study revealed the thermal decomposition and fire‐extinguishing performance of R1216 using theoretical calculations and experimental measurements. It was found that R1216 has high thermal stability and does not decompose at 600°C, and not only achieves the purpose of chemical extinguishment by generating perfluoroalkanes, perfluoroolefins and CF3· radicals that can capture H· and OH· radicals in the flame to interrupt the chain reactions of combustion, but also achieve the goal of cooling by absorbing heat through bond breaking. A combination of physical and chemical inhibition makes R1216 ideal for fire suppression (6.78 and 7.40 vol% for methane and propane flames, respectively). R1216 does not contain Br· and has a global warming potential of 0, which is more environmentally friendly. The composites with excellent mechanical, low rolling resistance, and low heat build‐up are the potential materials for preparing green tires. In this study, we prepared silica‐natural rubber latex (silica‐NRL) masterbatch, which improved the processing and dispersion properties of silica in the natural rubber, proved by the rheological properties of composites. Furthermore, the idea of partial replacement of silica with low content modified aramid pulp (AP) for preparing hybrid enhanced natural rubber with high mechanical properties and low heat build‐up was put forward and evaluated the feasibility of this strategy. We find that replacing 5 phr silica with 1 phr AP, the performances of the rubber composites were all superior to the composites with only filled 50 phr silica, and replacing 10 phr silica with 2 phr AP, the mechanical and fatigue property was improved remarkably and dynamic heat generation was reduced the most at same time. The strategy of preparing silica‐NRL masterbatch and partial replacement of silica with AP provides a novel reference for the preparation of low heat build‐up green tire. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) without toxic heavy metals are promising candidates for exploiting the next‐generation solar cells by virtue of their numerous merits, including solution processability, facile bandgap tunability and wide absorption spectrum range. However, a large number of photo‐generated carriers are captured by their inherent defects instead of effective dissociation, which immensely hinders the device performance. Herein, the silver‐gold‐selenide (AgAuSe) QDs with well‐treated defect states were firstly employed as the photo‐absorber of active layer to construct environment‐friendly QD solar cells, in which an inverted AgAuSe QD solar cell composed of ITO/SnO2/AgAuSe/Au/PCE10:BTP‐4Cl/MoO3/Al was fabricated. Thereinto, after the n‐i‐p infrastructure of SnO2/QD/PCE10 being determined, a layer of Au nanoparticles (NPs) was introduced into the QD/PCE10 interface to modulate the energy‐level alignment of the device. This interfacial modification significantly improved the device performance by increasing the open‐circuit voltage and fill factor, which was different from the absorption enhancement mechanism originated from the plasmonic effects of Au NPs. Lastly, the PCE10 layer was blended with BTP‐4Cl to increase the short‐circuit current density of device through its complementary absorption to AgAuSe QD, which further increased the power conversion efficiency up to 4.14% with the synergistic effect of Au NPs layer. Large‐scale on‐chip integration of organic nanowire‐based devices requires the deterministic assembly of organic small molecules into highly‐aligned nanowires. In this work, phthalocyanine molecules are self‐assembled into horizontally‐aligned nanowires after generating parallel hydrophobic nanogrooves on a sapphire surface. In contrast to previous self‐oriented inorganic nanowires, these molecular nanowires are separated from their supporting sapphire by an ultrathin amorphous layer, indicating a complete elimination of lattice matching between nanowires and substrates. Therefore, small molecules beyond phthalocyanines hold promise to form aligned nanowires using this graphoepitaxial self‐assembly strategy. The excellent alignment and high crystallinity of these nanowires enable the desired in‐situ integration of nanowire‐based devices without additional postgrowth processing steps. As a proof of concept, self‐oriented CuPc nanowires are integrated into photodetector arrays directly on their growth substrate after electrode arrays are transferred onto the nanowires. Compared to previous CuPc photodetectors constructed using other approaches, these detectors exhibit a faster response to the spectrum in the 488–780 nm range (rise and fall times are 0.05–0.43 s and 0.38–2.34 s, respectively) while offering comparable detectivities (2.49 × 1010 Jones on average). This graphoepitaxial self‐assembly offers new opportunities for the aligned growth of organic crystalline nanowires and their large‐scale in‐situ integration into functional devices. Natural rubber latex filled with silica can be used to prepare low‐cost green tires with low rolling resistance. However, low mixing efficiency and reduction of properties have become the major difficulty in the industry, because there are many polar groups on the surface of silica, and it is difficult to produce a strong interaction with a nonpolar rubber. In this paper, natural rubber latex masterbatch with silica was prepared, and easily mixed with natural rubber (NR) to obtain NR/silica composites. The silica after NRL treated in the rubber matrix characterized with well dispersion, good compatibility with rubber, and composites had weaker Payne effect and higher wet‐skid resistance. Meanwhile, the 100% and 300% tensile modulus increased by 8.5% and 14.47%, respectively, notably decreasing heat build‐up by 41.88%, compared to the composite prepared by dry mixing technology. Overall, both the dispersion and interfacial adhesion of silica in the rubber matrix have a significant synergistic effect on the properties of rubber composites. Negative product reviews are bad for businesses. They can adversely affect product sales, brand evaluations, and brand loyalty. To attend to negative reviews, one approach is through advertising products or company virtues. The current study examines the efficacy of different advertising approaches (core product attribute advertising vs. non‐core product attribute advertising vs. corporate social responsibility [CSR] advertising) in helping dilute the negative effect of dissimilar negative product attribute reviews (negative core product attribute reviews vs. negative non‐core product attribute reviews). Through four experiments, we found that when the non‐core attribute of a product had negative reviews, a core attribute advertising approach weakened the effect of negative reviews. However, CSR advertising was less effective. Furthermore, when the core attributes of a product had negative reviews, a non‐core attribute advertising effort did not weaken, but actually augmented the impact of negative reviews. In addition, when the core attributes of a product received negative reviews, CSR advertising decreased the influence of negative reviews. Progress management is an important scheme of construction management. In practical affairs, many unknown factors may lead to potential project delays and make the schedule risky. To address this issue, this paper proposes a data-driven construction progress evaluation method that employs a probabilistic reliability analysis with BIM to effectively quantify the risk of schedule delay. By identifying critical tasks and probable failure conditions in uncertain environments, this method enables project managers to take proactive measures to keep their projects on schedule. Through our case study, we have demonstrated that the proposed method is highly effective in dynamically evaluating the project progress with both accuracy and efficiency. Besides, this system offers a more efficient way for managers to gather information, evaluate progress, and identify critical tasks, and provides project managers with a data-driven understanding of the risks and uncertainties related to project schedules, enabling them to take proactive measures to minimize the potential delays and ensure successful project delivery. Various epitaxial mechanisms have been proposed to control the growth orientation of vapor‐deposited nanowires, yet the required lattice matching between target nanowires and supporting substrates limits their applicability. In this work, a versatile hot stamping protocol for fabricating parallel hydrophobic nanogrooves on flexible polymer films (e.g., polyimide (PI), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)) is proposed. More interestingly, various organic small molecules, including several metal phthalocyanines (MPc, M = Cu, Zn, Fe, Ni, Co), 9,10‐bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene (BPEA), 9,10‐diphenylanthracene (DPA), and tris‐(8‐hydroxyquinoline)aluminium (Alq3), are directly assembled into horizontally‐oriented nanowires along the hot‐stamped nanogrooves on a flexible PI film, thereby breaking the lattice‐matching limitation for oriented nanowire growth. These submillimeter‐long horizontally oriented nanowires can be integrated into flexible photodetectors directly on their growth film, eliminating the need for laborious post‐growth transfer and alignment steps and the associated structural damage and contamination. Consequently, the in situ integrated flexible photodetector made of aligned CuPc nanowires maintains a stable and fast photoresponse to a spectrum in the region of 405‐980 nm even when the detector is bent to a radius of curvature of 2.5 mm and 1000 times. Perovskite colloidal quantum wells (QWs) are promising to realize narrow deep‐blue emission, but the poor optical performance and stability suppress their practical application. Here, we creatively propose a water‐driven synthesis strategy to obtain size‐homogenized and strongly confined deep‐blue CsPbBr3 QWs, corresponding to three monolayers, which emit at the deep‐blue wavelength of 456 nm. The water controls the orientation and distribution of the ligands on the surface of the nanocrystals, thus inducing orientated growth through the Ostwald ripening process by phagocytizing unstable nanocrystals to form well‐crystallized QWs. These QWs present remarkable stability and high photoluminescence quantum yield of 94 %. Furthermore, we have prepared light‐emitting diodes based on the QWs via the all‐solution fabrication strategy, achieving an external quantum efficiency of 1 % and luminance of 2946 cd m−2, demonstrating state‐of‐the‐art brightness for perovskite QW‐based LEDs. In this paper, long aramid fiber (LAF) reinforced styrene‐butadiene rubber/carbon black composites was prepared via a high pressure and low shear rate extrusion process, and the average length of the remaining fiber exceeded 6 mm. With LAF as reinforcement phase, the bonding between the fiber coated with butadiene styrene vinyl‐pyridine rubber latex and rubber matrix was increased. The results showed that the addition of LAF improved the properties of the composites, particularly in terms of dynamic fatigue life of the notched samples, which was increased by 352.7%. The long fibers with good interfacial bonding were peeled off in fatigue process, which can significantly absorb strain energy; thus, the propagation of fatigue cracks was effectively inhibited. This study proposes a feasible strategy to significantly improve the service life of rubber products under alternating stress, such as tires, by using the reinforcement of long fiber. Objective: The treatment of chronic osteomyelitis (COM) is extremely challenging for physicians and patients. It is of great significance to explore the research status, development trend and future research hotspots in the field of COM to promote the development of this field. This study is aimed to explore the global research status of COM and predict its future research hotspots based on bibliometric and visualized analysis. Methods: Web of Science core collection database was used to search the related literature of COM from 1994 to 2020. All data were imported into Microsoft Excel 2019 for collation. Additionally, the literature quality of countries, authors, journals, and institutions is evaluated. The VOS viewer software was used for conducting co‐analysis, co‐citation analysis, and keyword co‐occurrence analysis of literature to analyze the global status and predict the future hotspots of the COM field. Results: A total of 726 articles were retrieved in this study. The number of global publications shows a trend of wave growth, but the increase is not significant. It is expected that the number of COM articles will remain at more than 50 per year in the next decade. The COM literature published in the United States (Publications = 160, H index = 37, average citations per item = 28.63) is of the highest quality. Girschick HJ (Publications = 16, H index = 14, average citations per item = 52.25) is the most contributed scholar in the field of COM. UNIV IOWA (Publications = 15, H index = 11, average citations per item = 57.27) and UNIV WURZBURG (Publications = 18, H index = 15, average citations per item = 47.5) are influential institutions in the field of COM. The results of co‐occurrence analysis show that the field of COM can be roughly divided into the following five modules: COM surgical research, COM basic research, COM diagnosis‐related research, chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO)‐related research, risk factors of COM. Risk factors of COM are the module with the highest concentration of hot words. Conclusion: COM‐related research will continue to develop further in the next decade. The diagnosis research and risk factors of COM are the most popular research modules in recent years. Some controversial or troubled issues including the efficacy of perforator flap and fascia flap covering soft tissue, searching exclusive detection methods for the diagnosis of COM and bisphosphonates and biological agents in the treatment of CRMO may lead to the development of the COM field. The purpose of our study was to determine the risk factors for post‐operative wound complications (PWCs) after open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) for calcaneal fracture and establish a nomogram prediction model. We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of patients who suffered from calcaneal fractures and had been surgically treated for ORIF in our institution between January 2010 and January 2020. Perioperative information was obtained through the electronic medical record system, univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to determine the risk factors of PWCs, and a nomogram model was constructed to predict the risk of PWCs. The predictive performance and consistency of the model were evaluated by the Hosmer –Lemeshow (H‐L) test and the calibration curve. In total, 444 patients were enrolled in our study. Multivariate analysis results showed that smoking, limb swelling, angle of incision, and CRP were independent risk factors for skin necrosis. The AUC value for skin necrosis risk was 0.982 (95%CI 0.97‐0.99). The H‐L test revealed that the normogram prediction model had good calibration ability (P =.957). Finally, we found a correlation between PWCs and smoking, limb swelling, angle of incision, and CRP after ORIF for calcaneal fracture patients. Our nomogram prediction model might be helpful for clinicians to identify high‐risk patients, as interventions could be taken early to reduce the incidence of PWCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The antitumor effects of Lycium ruthenicum Murr. polysaccharides (LRPS) and Lycium ruthenicum Murr. anthocyanins (LRAC) were comprehensively investigated in this study. LPRS was obtained by water extraction and alcohol precipitation and further purified using diethylaminoethyl cellulose (DEAE‐Cellulose) and Sephadex G‐75 columns. High‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Fourier transform‐infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy were used to characterize the purified LRPS. The results showed that the purified LRPS contained heteropolysaccharides, mainly composed of arabinose, galactose, and glucose with weight percentage of 41.2%, 33.6%, and 10.8%, respectively. More importantly, LRPS (500 μg/ml) and LRAC (80 μg/ml) failed to impede the proliferation of tumor cells when applied solely (48 h incubation), yet remarkable antineoplastic effects were found once they were applied altogether, since the LoVo cells, a typical human colorectal carcinoma cell line, were significantly inhibited by the mixture of LRPS (150 μg/ml) and LRAC (20 μg/ml) (LRPS&AC) in 24 h. The antineoplastic activity resulted from the combination of both LRPS and LRAC (LRPS&AC), by means of blocking the cell cycle at the G0–G1 phase and inducing LoVo cell apoptosis via reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐dependent pathway. The inhibitory effects of LRPS&AC were specific to the tumor cells, without imposing on the proliferation of normal cells. Western blotting revealed that the antitumor effect was related to the mitochondria‐mediated apoptosis launched by the cross‐action of PI3K/Akt (phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase/protein kinase B) and JAK2/STAT3 (janus kinase 2/signal transduction and activator of transcription 3) signaling pathways. These findings for the first time reveal the synergistic antitumor effects of LRPS&AC and the related mechanisms, which enable Lycium ruthenicum Murr. to serve as a natural source to develop therapeutic reagents and functional foods with antineoplastic properties. The manufacture of green tires with low heat build‐up has attracted extensive attention. Furthermore, the trouble to solve the problem of rubber failure caused by tires dynamic heat build‐up is a great challenge faced by the automotive tire industry. In this article, a method of preparing styrene butadiene rubber/carbon black/aramid pulp‐natural rubber latex (SBR/CB/AP‐NRL) composites was described in detail, which used AP coated with NRL to fill SBR/CB. A flexible interface layer was constructed between fibers and rubber matrix, making for forming a large specific surface area of the NRL. The mechanism of reducing heat build‐up of the rubber composite through "deforming transformation" in the flexible interface layer was discussed. In addition, the NRL interface layer contributed to the dispersion of the AP in the rubber matrix and the good interfacial bonding between AP and the rubber matrix. In the experiment of replacing a part of CB with a certain content of AP‐NRL, it was found that the temperature rise of the rubber composites decreased by 8.33% with 1 phr modified AP replacing 5 phr CB. Due to the serious destruction of Halon to the ozone layer, it is significant to explore the fire‐extinguishing agent with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). At the molecular structure level, Octafluoro‐2‐butene has a special arrangement of fluorine atoms, endowing itself with better potential to replace Halon than the reported perfluoroalkanes and hydrofluoroethylenes (HFOs). However, as a new Halon substitute, the fire‐extinguishing mechanism of Octafluoro‐2‐butene has not been studied. In this paper, the thermal decomposition and fire‐extinguishing mechanism of Octafluoro‐2‐butene were studied by density functional theory (DFT) and the rate constants of each reaction path were calculated for the first time. The calculation results show that Octafluoro‐2‐butene produces a large number of fire extinguishing groups and the rate constants of the main fire extinguishing paths are fast. Noteworthy, there is no combustion radical produced during extinguishing. In addition, the thermal decomposition of Octafluoro‐2‐butene mostly produced halogenated alkane with the better ability to react with chain radicals. The theoretical results show that Octafluoro‐2‐butene is a promising Halon substitute, and its practicability can be further studied and comprehensively evaluated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Earth‐abundant metal oxides/hydroxides have recently been identified as promising catalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline media, while the overall efficiency is still limited by the sluggish kinetics. Therefore, searching for facile and effective method to prepare composition and morphology tunable catalyst, as well as understanding its reactivity are urgent tasks. Here, we report a hydrothermal etching strategy for the synthesis of Fe doped Co oxides/hydroxide hybrid catalyst with hierarchical nanosheet array architecture. The as‐obtained catalyst shows an overpotential of 219 mV without iR compensation at 10 mA/cm2 and a low Tafel slope of 46.4 mV/dec, surpassing the other control catalysts in this work and most similar catalysts in literature. Comprehensive studies confirm that both composition and morphology can be rationally tuned by adjusting the hydrothermal etching parameters, and the improvement of activity is attributed to the highly active Fe doped Co oxides/hydroxide species together with the unique 3D hierarchical structure. This study investigates the true stress evolution of aramid fiber (AF) reinforced styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)/carbon black (CB) composites with different interface characteristics in the fatigue failure process. AF was coated with epoxy‐functionalized silane (γ‐propyltrimethoxysilane, KH560) and butadiene styrene vinyl‐pyridine rubber latex (VPL). The influence of the interface characteristics on the mechanical and fatigue properties of the composites were explored. The results show that the fatigue crack growth rate of the rubber composites reinforced by a coated fiber with a flexible interface layer was significantly reduced. Furthermore, the fatigue failure behavior of the notched samples can be characterized by true stress evolution. The power‐law relationship of the true stress with both fatigue cycle and crack growth length was founded. Meanwhile, the stress evolution mechanism in the process of fatigue failure was discussed and the critical crack length corresponding to the point where the true stress begins to accelerate is found. The large‐scale application of water electrolysis to produce high purity H2 greatly relies on the development of highly efficient and stable catalysts. In this field, substantial progress has been witnessed during the past years, and self‐standing electrode represents a remarkable milestone. A series of problems associated with common powder catalysts, including insufficient active sites exposure, limited mass transfer, easily peeling off, etc. can be solved by the construction of self‐standing electrode. However, there is still room for further performance enhancement. Therefore, the latest achievements and challenges on the design of advanced self‐standing electrodes for water electrolysis is summarized in this review. Firstly, we outline the methods for controllable synthesis of self‐standing electrodes. Then, particular attention is paid to the adopted strategies for tuning the structure and surface electron configuration of the electrodes, as well as the related performance enhancement mechanisms. In this paper, the trajectory tracking problem of industrial manipulator with fixed periodic external force on human-robot cooperative assembly line is studied. An advanced fuzzy adaptive supertwisting sliding mode control (FASTSMC) algorithm is proposed to realize the rapid convergence and continuous control of nonlinear control system. In order to enhance the robustness of the system, an arctangent terminal sliding mode surface is designed to deal with the concentrated uncertain disturbance. The supertwisting method is used to overcome the chattering problem in the control law. The fuzzy adaptive technique is used to compensate the centralized disturbance with unknown upper bound. A stiffness identification model is designed to estimate the deviation of the manipulator under external force. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed control scheme is verified by a simulation example of a 4-DOF manipulator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
