The article focuses on a study that evaluated a single-institution cohort of young women ≤35 years old with breast cancer who received surgical resection before chemotherapy to detect differences in patient characteristics, overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) between patients with unifocal or multifocal tumors. It concludes that young women do not appear to have an increased incidence of multifocal disease or worse prognosis than their unifocal counterparts.
