Summary: Event log sampling has emerged as a key research focus in the field of process mining, aiming to enhance the efficiency of various process mining tasks, including model discovery, conformance checking, and process prediction. However, current log sampling techniques often fail to ensure high‐quality sample logs. This paper introduces a novel framework to support efficient event log sampling without compromising the quality of the sample log compared to the original one. The approach revolves around the consideration of directly‐follows relation (DFR) among business tasks as the fundamental behavior unit of an event log. By ensuring the DFR equivalence between the original and sample logs, the proposed technique addresses the challenge of sample log quality from the model discovery point of view. The framework is instantiated by seven distinct sampling strategies each has its own specialty and is fully implemented in the open‐source process mining tool platform ProM. To validate its effectiveness, we conducted a comprehensive experimental evaluation using 12 publicly available real‐life event logs against state‐of‐the‐art sampling techniques. Objective: Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) has become an effective treatment for early‐stage oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCCs). We aimed to analyze the clinical safety and efficacy of TORS for human papilloma virus (HPV)‐positive and HPV‐negative OPSCC in China. Methods: Patients with OPSCC of pT1‐T2 stage who underwent TORS from March 2017 to December 2021 were analyzed. Results: A total of 83 patients (HPV‐positive, n = 25; HPV‐negative, n = 58) were included. The median age of the patients was 57.0 years and 71 were men. The majority of primary tumor sites were palatine tonsils (52, 62.7%) and base of tongues (20, 24.1%). Three patients have a positive margin. A total of 12 (14.5%) patients received tracheotomies, the average duration of tracheostomy tube use was 9.4 days, and nasogastric tube was 14.5 days. No patient had a long‐term tracheotomy. The 3‐year overall survival (OS), disease‐free survival (DFS), and recurrence‐free survival (RFS) for all 83 patients were 89.5%, 80.1%, and 83.3%, respectively. The OS at 3 years between the HPV‐positive group and HPV‐negative group were 100% versus 84.3% (P =.07), while the DFS and RFS between two groups also showed no significant difference. Among multivariate cox regression analysis of all potential risk factors, smoking was the significant risk factors for disease recurrence (P <.05). To fabricate organic solar cells (OSCs) via slot‐die coating, solvent additives are essential to induce an optimized phase‐separated and order morphology. It is critical to determine the morphological evolution from solution to solid state and understand the crystallization kinetics in slot‐die coating. Using in situ grazing‐incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering characterization, the morphological evolution in PM6‐ and ITIC‐based systems without or with 0.3% 1,8‐diiodooctane (DIO) as additive can be monitored in real‐time during slot‐die coating. As a result, DIO weakens the planarization of the PM6 backbone and splits the backbone ordering into fragments to form ordered crystallites. DIO also induces surface crystallization to reinforce the tie‐chain connections between the crystallites. Furthermore, in the ITIC system, DIO triggers the formation of an interconnected fibril network morphology and concurrently promotes the stacking of ITIC molecules in between the polymer network. Thus, an optimized morphology with a refined crystal structure is formed with the help of DIO. As a result, the power conversion efficiency is improved from 8.77% to 9.59% in slot‐die‐coated OSCs. These findings provide guidelines for optimizing the morphology in slot‐die‐coated OSCs and accelerate the transition of laboratory‐scale fabrication to industrial production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the role and molecular mechanism of cyclin‐dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) in regulating the growth of tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC). Methods: The authors used multiple methods to detect the levels of CDK5 expression in samples of TSCC and to explore the relation between CDK5 expression and various clinicopathologic factors. In vivo and in vitro cell experiments were performed to detect the proliferation, invasion, and migration of TSCC cells with CDK5 knockdown or overexpression. These studies verified that CDK5 regulates the occurrence and development of TSCC cells through the microRNA 513c‐5p/cell division cycle 25B pathway. Results: An elevated level of CDK5 expression in TSCC tissues was identified as an independent risk factor affecting TSCC growth and patient prognosis. Patients who had TSCC with low levels of CDK5 expression had a higher survival rate than those with high levels. Knockdown of CDK5 reduced the proliferation, migration, and invasion of TSCC cells both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, the authors observed that CDK5 regulated the growth of TSCC through the microRNA 513c‐5p/cell division cycle C25B pathway. Conclusions: CDK5 functions as an oncogene in TSCC and might serve as a molecular marker for use in the diagnosis and treatment of TSCC. Mixtures of nonfullerene acceptors (NFAs) are prepared to fine‐tune bulk heterojunction (BHJ) thin‐film morphologies. The acceptor phase resulting from these mixtures has unique physical properties with excellent optoelectronic processes that dictate the output of organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. Remarkable short‐circuit current densities (JSC) and fill factors (FFs) are achieved due to the formation of better crystalline fibrils that suppress geminate recombination, leading to improved charge transport with enhanced crystallinity and aligned cascading energy levels confirm efficient exciton diffusion and dissociation, yielding more effective exciton recycling. The decreased Urbach energy and suppressed energetic disorder account for the improvement in the open‐circuit voltage (VOC). A maximum power conversion efficiency of 17.86% is obtained, underscoring the importance of using specific material interactions to produce a suitable morphology and manage energy loss, resulting in ideal organic solar cell (OSC) devices. Background and Aim: Single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are potential biomarkers for cancer risk, but their association with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unclear. We examined the association of lncRNA‐related SNPs with HCC susceptibility and explored the optimal genetic models for SNPs. Methods: Five candidate SNPs linked with digestive tumors were first genotyped in a screening population of 700 HCC and 2800 control cases. The association between each SNP and HCC risk was estimated by multivariate logistic regression adjusted by sex and age and recorded as odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval. Significant associations were further tested in a validation population with 1140 HCC and 5115 control cases. Finally, the most appropriate genetic models for HCC‐associated SNPs were identified using pairwise allele differences; the overall gene effects of each SNP were further evaluated based on optimal genetic models. Results: Three candidate SNPs, rs7315438, rs6983267, and rs10795668, showed statistical connections with HCC risk in the discovery stage. Among these, rs7315438 remained steadily significant in the validation stage; rs7315438 and rs10795668 both reached statistical threshold in the combined analysis of both stages. SNP rs7315438 (TC vs TT/CC, OR = 1.410, P < 0.001) was associated with increased risk of HCC in a complete overdominant model, whereas rs10795668 (AG vs AA/GG, OR = 0.892, P = 0.035) exerted a protective effect on HCC risk in a complete overdominant model. Conclusions: Long non‐coding RNA‐related SNPs rs7315438 and rs10795668 are potential biomarkers for HCC susceptibility, especially when evaluated based on their optimal genetic models. Objective: For differentiating heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) from HF with reduced EF (HFrEF), N‐terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) is less accurate. Decreased expression of microRNA‐19b (miR‐19b) is associated with increased cardiac‐fibrosis. We aim to evaluate the value of miR‐19b in diagnosing HFrEF patients. Method: We included 200 HF patients and 100 healthy controls. Intergroup comparisons of miR‐19b were made and correlation between miR‐19b and NT‐proBNP was analysed. Diagnostic values of NT‐proBNP and miR‐19b for HF patients versus controls and HFrEF versus HFpEF were obtained by ROC analysis and described by area under curve (AUC), sensitivity and specificity. Results: HFrEF patients (0.87, 95% CI 0.37‐1.45) had significantly lower miR‐19b level than HFpEF group (1.32, 95% CI 0.63‐2.51) and the controls (1.82, 95% CI 0.37‐1.45) (both P <.001). There was a remarkable negative correlation between miR‐19b and NT‐proBNP (P <.001). The additional use of miR‐19b did not improve the accuracy of NT‐proBNP alone in diagnosing HF patients from the controls (both AUC = 0.98, 95%CI 0.97‐0.99). However, as for distinguishing the HFpEF from HFrEF, miR‐19b and NT‐proBNP yielded a significantly higher AUC than NT‐proBNP alone (0.85, 95% CI 0.80‐0.90 vs. 0.66, 95% CI 0.58‐0.74) (P <.001), and the sensitivity for diagnosing HFrEF was raised from 58% to 77% and the specificity from 75% to 79%. Conclusions: On top of NT‐proBNP, miR‐19b added the value in diagnosing HFrEF. But in view of satisfactory accuracy of NT‐proBNP in predicting HF from the healthy volunteers, miR‐19b did not provide incremental value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For normal-weight population, the management of prehypertension may be more beneficial by identifying insulin resistance (IR) status than relying solely on traditional indicators of obesity. We investigated the association of triglyceride glucose (TyG) index, a simple surrogate marker of IR, and its combination of obesity indices with prehypertension in lean individuals. A total of 105 070 lean adults without hypertension were included in this analysis. Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-height ratio (WtHR), and TyG were calculated according to the corresponding formula; TyG-BMI, TyG-WC, and TyG-WHtR were calculated by multiplying the corresponding two parameters. Gardner-Altman plots, partial correlation, and logistic regression analyses were applied to explore the associations in continuous variables and quartiles. The prehypertensive ones had higher mean values of TyG, TyG-BMI, TyG-WC, and TyG-WHtR than normotensive individuals. All the four indicators showed positive correlations with systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. After full adjustment, only TyG-BMI and TyG-WC were significantly associated with prehypertension in both genders. Furthermore, TyG-BMI had the highest OR for prehypertension. Objective: Right aortic arch (RAA) can be associated with chromosomal anomalies. However, the incidence of chromosomal anomalies when RAA is isolated (iRAA), ie, not associated with intracardiac anomalies, varies between different studies (0%-28.5%). We have performed a meta-analysis to allow a more accurate prenatal counselling.Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for articles related to chromosomal anomalies among iRAA fetuses until April 2019. A total of 22 relevant studies, including 670 fetuses, were selected in the final meta-analysis.Results: The results revealed that the overall rates of chromosomal anomalies and 22q11.2 deletion in iRAA fetuses were 7.5% (95% confidence interval [CI], 4.7%-10.8%) and 4.3% (95% CI, 2.6%-6.4%), respectively, while the rates were lower in iRAA without extracardiac anomalies, 4.7% (95% CI, 1.1%-10.8%) and 2.4% (95% CI, 0.5%-5.7%). The rate of chromosomal or copy number variants including 22q11.2 deletion identified by chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) in iRAA fetuses was 8.2% (95% CI, 5.0%-12.1%) and 3.7% (95% CI, 1.7%-6.6%), respectively, compared with 5.1% (95% CI, 2.5%-8.4%) and 2.4% (95% CI, 0.7%-5.1%) identified by traditional karyotyping.Conclusions: A considerable proportion of iRAA cases have associated chromosomal anomalies and prevalence of associated 22q11.2 deletion, and CMA is recommended if invasive prenatal testing is performed. This paper tests how managerial financial education explains the valuation effects of seasoned equity offerings (SEOs). Using a sample of Taiwanese listed firms during 2007–2018, our results show that investors react more negatively to SEO announcements by firms with more financially educated managers (MFEMs). Such a negative effect is more pronounced for firms with a higher information asymmetry and more earnings management. Further evidence indicates that SEO firms with MFEMs are substantially overvalued and thus experience a significantly long‐run post‐SEO underperformance. MFEMs are also found to reduce their ownership prior to SEOs. Our overall results support the opportunism‐based information advantage hypothesis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has enabled the assessment of myocardial features, from tissue characteristics to functional changes, in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Echocardiography, however, detects cardiac decompensation. This study was undertaken to investigate the use of cardiac MRI to explore early warning signs of silent cardiac involvement and determine treatment timing in SLE. Methods: Clinical assessment and cardiac MRI studies were performed in 50 drug‐naive patients with new‐onset SLE, 60 patients with longstanding SLE, and 50 healthy subjects in a 3‐center prospective study. Results: Analysis of cardiac enzymes, the presence and size of regional myocardial fibrosis as indicated by late gadolinium enhancement, strain changes, and biventricular ejection fraction did not indicate cardiac impairment in the patients with new‐onset SLE. Native myocardial T1 and extracellular volume (ECV), which are extracellular matrix indices, were elevated in the patients with new‐onset SLE (mean ± SD 1,369 ± 79 msec versus 1,092 ± 57 msec in the control group for native T1; 32 ± 5% versus 24 ± 3% in the control group for ECV; P < 0.001 for both). The elevation was independent of SLE disease activity. Conclusion: This is the first study to indicate that drug‐naive patients with new‐onset SLE, even those with inactive disease, are likely to have silent cardiac impairment. Structural and functional changes in the myocardium are related to SLE disease stage; this finding indicates the value of early detection of myocardial involvement. Native myocardial T1 values and ECV, rather than currently used clinical rheumatic and cardiac indices, could serve as early detection markers of myocardial injury before the presence of visual fibrosis and functional decompensation. ABSTRACT: We aimed to assess the immunoregulatory effects of IFN‐β in patients with tuberculous pleurisy. IFN‐β, IFN‐γ and IL‐17 expression levels were detected, and correlations among these factors in different culture groups were analyzed. Pleural fluid mononuclear cells (PFMC) from tuberculous pleural effusions, but not peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from healthy donors, spontaneously expressed IFN‐β, IL‐17 and IFN‐γ. Moreover, exogenous IFN‐β significantly inhibited the expression of IL‐17 in PFMC. By contrast, IFN‐β simultaneously enhanced the levels of IFN‐γ. To further investigate the regulation of IL‐17 and IFN‐γ by endogenous IFN‐β, an IFN‐β neutralizing antibody was simultaneously added to bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG)‐stimulated PFMC. IL‐17 expression was significantly increased, but IFN‐γ production was markedly decreased in the experimental group supplemented with the IFN‐β neutralizing antibody. Simultaneously, IL‐17 production was remarkably increased in the experimental group supplemented with the IFN‐γ neutralizing antibody. Taken together, in our study, we first found that freshly isolated PFMC, but not PBMC from healthy donors, spontaneously expressed IFN‐β, IL‐17 and IFN‐γ in vivo. Moreover, IFN‐β suppressed IL‐17 expression and increased IFN‐γ production. Furthermore, both IFN‐β and IFN‐γ down‐regulated IL‐17 expression. Autophagy is a ubiquitous intracellular process for cellular homeostasis maintenance by recycling damaged protein and organelles. Dysregulation of cardiomyocytes autophagic activity is implicated in various heart diseases. Recent studies had demonstrated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) played crucial roles on modulation of autophagic activity. In this study, we first established an angiotensin II-induced autophagy model on neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Western blot assay confirmed that the expression of Beclin 1 and the conversion of soluble LC3-I to lipid bound LC3-II were significantly increased at 12 h after angiotensin II stimulation, but the cardiomyocytes surface area and hypertrophic markers expression had no significant change. Then microarray analysis and real-time PCR were applied to detect differentially expressed lncRNAs during cardiomyocytes autophagy. A total of 1,249 lncRNAs were determined as differentially expressed, including 700 upregulated lncRNAs and 549 downregulated lncRNAs. LncRNAs subgroup analysis showed there were 43 transcribed ultra-conserved noncoding RNAs (T-UCRs) differentially expressed in cardiomyocytes autophagy, of which 26 T-UCRs were upregulated and 17 T-UCRs were downregulated. Bioinformatics analysis further showed that 94 differentially expressed lncRNAs contained potential binding sites of miR-22, a pro-hypertrophic and pro-autophagic microRNA. Therefore, these differentially expressed lncRNAs might play critical roles in cardiomyocytes autophagy. Using a sample of stocks listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange during 1991-2014, this study investigates the liquidity in up and down markets, which is important for understanding asset pricing. Firm-level original Amihud, Journal of Financial Markets, 5, 2002, 31. illiquidity is decomposed into two half-Amihud measures for up- and down-market days. First, we show that the ability of the down-market liquidity level to explain the cross-section of returns subsumes the up-market liquidity level. Second, only loadings on systematic down-market liquidity factors are significantly priced. Third, a liquidity risk factor constructed by the down-market component, rather than the up-market component significantly explains the time-series and cross-sectional variation in returns sorted by firm size, suggesting that the liquidity risk factor associated with down-market days performs better in capturing the flight-to-liquidity. Overall, the findings support the view that the liquidity in down markets plays a more important role in asset pricing than the liquidity in up markets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
