Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used in clinical care and medical research. The signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) in the measurement affects parameters that determine the diagnostic value of the image, such as the spatial resolution, contrast, and scan time. Surgically implanted radiofrequency coils can increase SNR of subsequent MRI studies of adjacent tissues. The resulting benefits in SNR are, however, balanced by significant risks associated with surgically removing these coils or with leaving them in place permanently. As an alternative, here the authors report classes of implantable inductor–capacitor circuits made entirely of bioresorbable organic and inorganic materials. Engineering choices for the designs of an inductor and a capacitor provide the ability to select the resonant frequency of the devices to meet MRI specifications (e.g., 200 MHz at 4.7 T MRI). Such devices enhance the SNR and improve the associated imaging capabilities. These simple, small bioelectronic systems function over clinically relevant time frames (up to 1 month) at physiological conditions and then disappear completely by natural mechanisms of bioresorption, thereby eliminating the need for surgical extraction. Introduction: We sought to characterize social and structural drivers of HIV vulnerability for transgender women (TGW) in Zimbabwe, where TGW are not legally recognized, and explore differences in vulnerability by feminine presentation. Methods: A secondary analysis was conducted with a sub‐sample of participants recruited from a 2019 respondent‐driven sampling survey that comprised men who have sex with men, TGW and genderqueer individuals assigned male sex at birth, from two cities in Zimbabwe. Survey questionnaires captured information related to socio‐demographics, sexual and substance use behaviours, and social and structural barriers to HIV services. Secondary analyses were restricted to participants who identified as female, transfemale or transwomen (236/1538) and were unweighted. Descriptive statistics were used to calculate sample estimates and chi‐square and Fisher's exact tests were used to assess differences in vulnerability by feminine presentation. Results: Among 236 TGW, almost half (45.3%) presented as feminine in the 6 months preceding the survey and 8.5% had ever used hormones to affirm their gender identities. Median age among TGW was 23 years (interquartile range: 20–26). Feminine presenting TGW in our sample had higher prevalence of arrest (15.9% vs. 3.9%), rejection by family/friends (38.3% vs. 14.0%), employment termination (11.2% vs. 3.9%), employment refusal (14.0% vs. 3.9%), denial of healthcare (16.8% vs. 2.3%), physical, sexual or verbal harassment or abuse (59.8% vs. 34.1%), alcohol dependence (32.7% vs. 12.4%), recent transactional sex with a male or TGW partner (30.8% vs. 13.3%) and recent non‐injection drug use (38.3% vs. 20.2%) than non‐feminine presenting TGW (all p‐value <0.05). Conclusions: Findings suggest that TGW, particularly feminine presenting TGW, experience social and structural inequities which may contribute to HIV vulnerability. Interventions aimed at addressing inequities, including trans competency training for providers and gender‐affirming, psychosocial and legal support services for TGW, might mitigate risk. This article discusses the development of wireless wearable devices for continuous monitoring of body sounds and motions. Traditional devices like stethoscopes have limitations in terms of size, design, and the ability to capture precise time synchrony in sound or motion characteristics. The new miniaturized, soft electronic devices can track respiratory and digestive activity, as well as core vital signs, across multiple body locations. The devices have potential applications in monitoring respiratory activity in premature infants, monitoring digestion in neonates, and monitoring air flow in patients with pulmonary disease. Introduction: The increasing use of insertable cardiac monitors (ICMs) for long‐term continuous arrhythmia monitoring creates a high volume of transmissions and a significant workload for clinics. The ability to remotely reprogram device alert settings without in‐office patient visits was recently introduced, but its impact on clinic workflow compared to the previous ICM iteration is unknown. Methods: The aim of this real‐world study was to evaluate the impact of device reprogramming capabilities on ICM alert burden and on clinic workflow. Deidentified data was obtained from US patients and a total of 19 525 receiving a LINQ II were propensity score‐matched with 19 525 implanted with LINQ TruRhythm (TR) ICM based on age and reason for monitoring. Results: After reprogramming, ICM alerts reduced by 20.5% (p <.001). Compared with patients monitored with LINQ TR, patients with LINQ II had their device reprogrammed sooner after implant and more frequently during follow‐up. Adoption of remote programming was projected to lead to an annual total clinic time savings of 211 h per 100 ICM patients managed. Conclusion: These data suggest that utilization of ICM alert reprogramming has increased with remote capabilities, which may reduce clinic and patient burden for ICM follow‐up and free clinician time for other valuable patient care activities. Using images at multiple mid‐infrared wavelengths, acquired in 2018 May using the Very Large Telescope Imager and Spectrometer (VISIR) instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), we study Jupiter's pole‐to‐pole thermal, chemical and aerosol structure in the troposphere and stratosphere. We confirm that the pattern of cool and cloudy anticyclonic zones and warm cloud‐free cyclonic belts persists throughout the mid‐latitudes, up to the polar boundaries, and evidence a strong correlation with the vertical maximum windshear and the locations of Jupiter's zonal jets. At high latitudes, VISIR images reveal a large region of mid‐infrared cooling poleward ∼64°N and ∼67°S extending from the upper troposphere to the stratosphere, co‐located with the reflective aerosols observed by JunoCam, and suggesting that aerosols play a key role in the radiative cooling at the poles. Comparison of zonal‐mean thermal properties and high‐resolution visible imaging from Juno allows us to study the variability of atmospheric properties as a function of altitude and jet boundaries, particularly in the cold southern polar vortex. However, the southern stratospheric polar vortex is partly masked by a warm mid‐infrared signature of the aurora. Co‐located with the southern main auroral oval, this warming results from the auroral precipitation and/or joule heating which heat the atmosphere and thus cause a significant stratospheric emission. This high emission results from a large enhancement of both ethane and acetylene in the polar region, reinforcing the evidence of enhanced ion‐related chemistry in Jupiter's auroral regions. Plain Language Summary: A fundamental inquiry driving NASA's Juno mission was the investigation of the potential changes of Jupiter's famous banded structure below the top most clouds. As NASA's Juno spacecraft lacks instrumentation sensitive to the mid‐infrared, we have used the ground‐based Very Large Telescope Imager and Spectrometer (VISIR) on ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) to support the mission since 2016. The 2018 May data set provides a comprehensive view of Jupiter's pole‐to‐pole thermal, chemical, and aerosol structure; including the Great Red Spot; and the auroral‐related heating in the southern polar stratosphere. We show that the alternating pattern of cool cloudy zones and warm cloud‐free belts correlate to the zonal winds locations, extends from the equator to the boundary of the polar vortices (∼64°N and ∼67°S). Comparing this ground‐based data set with Juno observations, we show that the polar regions experience radiative cooling from the upper troposphere to the stratosphere, probably induced by the reflective polar aerosols, and confined at the poles by the polar vortices. However, the southern stratospheric polar vortex is partly masked by a large auroral emission, a signature of an interaction between the magnetosphere and stratosphere of Jupiter, which causes a ∼20 K warming as deep as the middle stratosphere. Excess hydrocarbons within the polar domain reinforces the evidence of enhanced ion‐related chemistry in Jupiter's auroral regions, resulting from charged particles precipitating from the top of the atmosphere to lower altitudes. Wireless, skin‐interfaced electronic and microfluidic devices have the potential to replace wired, bulky, and cumbersome technologies for personal and clinical health monitoring, allowing care to extend from hospital settings to the home. For use on skin, these devices commonly employ silicone‐based thermoset elastomers (TSEs) as layers that encapsulate the electronics or serve as molded microchannels for biofluid (e.g., sweat) capture, storage, and analysis. Barriers to commercial adoption of such devices include difficulties in use of these elastomers in conventional practices for mass manufacturing. Their relatively high cost and inability to allow for recycling represent additional disadvantages. By contrast, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are fully compatible with industrial‐scale manufacturing processes, low in cost, and recyclable. Like TSEs, TPEs are soft, stretchable, flexible, and optically transparent, while possessing other properties well‐suited for applications in wireless, skin‐interfaced devices. Herein, the characteristics, processing, and application techniques for three commercially available TPEs, including two thermoplastic polyurethanes as encapsulation layers for a wireless skin hydration sensor and one thermoplastic styrenic block copolymer for a microfluidic sweat analysis platform, are reported. The results demonstrate that TPEs can be effectively integrated into these classes of devices, as a compelling alternative to TSEs, as a mass‐manufacturable, sustainable materials option. Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the leading causes of death and disability. Recently developed cardiac patches provide mechanical support and additional conductive paths to promote electrical signal propagation in the MI area to synchronize cardiac excitation and contraction. Cardiac patches based on conductive polymers offer attractive features; however, the modest levels of elasticity and high impedance interfaces limit their mechanical and electrical performance. These structures also operate as permanent implants, even in cases where their utility is limited to the healing period of tissue damaged by the MI. The work presented here introduces a highly conductive cardiac patch that combines bioresorbable metals and polymers together in a hybrid material structure configured in a thin serpentine geometry that yields elastic mechanical properties. Finite element analysis guides optimized choices of layouts in these systems. Regular and synchronous contraction of human induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived cardiomyocytes on the cardiac patch and ex vivo studies offer insights into the essential properties and the bio‐interface. Many recently developed classes of wireless, skin‐interfaced bioelectronic devices rely on conventional thermoset silicone elastomer materials, such as poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), as soft encapsulating structures around collections of electronic components, radio frequency antennas and, commonly, rechargeable batteries. In optimized layouts and device designs, these materials provide attractive features, most prominently in their gentle, noninvasive interfaces to the skin even at regions of high curvature and large natural deformations. Past studies, however, overlook opportunities for developing variants of these materials for multimodal means to enhance the safety of the devices against failure modes that range from mechanical damage to thermal runaway. This study presents a self‐healing PDMS dynamic covalent matrix embedded with chemistries that provide thermochromism, mechanochromism, strain‐adaptive stiffening, and thermal insulation, as a collection of attributes relevant to safety. Demonstrations of this materials system and associated encapsulation strategy involve a wireless, skin‐interfaced device that captures mechanoacoustic signatures of health status. Wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductors have attracted significant research interest for the development of a broad range of flexible electronic applications, including wearable sensors, soft logical circuits, and long‐term implanted neuromodulators. Conventionally, these materials are grown on standard silicon substrates, and then transferred onto soft polymers using mechanical stamping processes. This technique can retain the excellent electrical properties of wide bandgap materials after transfer and enables flexibility; however, most devices are constrained by 2D configurations that exhibit limited mechanical stretchability and morphologies compared with 3D biological systems. Herein, a stamping‐free micromachining process is presented to realize, for the first time, 3D flexible and stretchable wide bandgap electronics. The approach applies photolithography on both sides of free‐standing nanomembranes, which enables the formation of flexible architectures directly on standard silicon wafers to tailor the optical transparency and mechanical properties of the material. Subsequent detachment of the flexible devices from the support substrate and controlled mechanical buckling transforms the 2D precursors of wide band gap semiconductors into complex 3D mesoscale structures. The ability to fabricate wide band gap materials with 3D architectures that offer device‐level stretchability combined with their multi‐modal sensing capability will greatly facilitate the establishment of advanced 3D bio‐electronics interfaces. Background: Some per‐ and poly‐fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) cause neonatal mortality and lower birth weight in rodents. We constructed an Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) network for neonatal mortality and lower birth weight in rodents, comprising three putative AOPs. We then assessed strengths of the evidence for the AOPs and applicability to PFAS. Finally, we considered the relevance of this AOP network to human health. Methods: Literature searches targeted PFAS, peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor (PPAR) agonists, other nuclear receptors, relevant tissues, and developmental targets. We used reviews of established biology and described results of studies with prenatal PFAS exposure that assessed birth weight and neonatal survival. Molecular initiating events (MIEs) and key events (KEs) were proposed and strengths of KE relationships (KERs), applicability to PFAS, and human relevance were assessed. Results: Neonatal mortality has been observed in rodents following gestational exposure to most longer chain PFAS studied, often coincident with lower birth weight. In AOP 1, PPARα activation and PPARγ activation or downregulation are MIEs; placental insufficiency, fetal nutrient restriction, neonatal hepatic glycogen deficit, and hypoglycemia are KEs leading to neonatal mortality and lower birth weight. In AOP 2, constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) and pregnane X receptor (PXR) activation upregulates Phase II metabolism, lowering maternal circulating thyroid hormones. In AOP 3, disrupted pulmonary surfactant function and PPARγ downregulation cause neonatal airway collapse and mortality from respiratory failure. Conclusions: It is likely that different components of this AOP network will apply to different PFAS, largely determined by which nuclear receptors they activate. The MIEs and KEs in this AOP network can occur in humans, but differences in PPAR structure and function, and the timeline of liver and lung development, suggest that humans may be less susceptible to this AOP network. This article provides a conceptual review of the principles of input spacing as they might relate specifically to oral task repetition research and presents some of the common methodological considerations from the broader input spacing literature. The specific considerations discussed include the interaction between intersession intervals and retention intervals, the manipulation of posttests as a between‐participants variable, the number of task repetitions, absolute versus relative spacing, the criterion of learning, task type versus exact task repetition, and blocked versus interleaved practice. Each of these considerations is discussed with links, as appropriate, to the relevant empirical input spacing and task repetition literature. The purpose of this review is to highlight how, in many cases, these methodological considerations have been overlooked by task repetition researchers, including in studies where input spacing has and has not been a direct focus, and to suggest ways of addressing these methodological shortcomings in future research. Serial examination and direct measurement of intracompartmental pressure (ICP) are suboptimal strategies for the detection of acute compartment syndrome (CS) because they are operator‐dependent and yield information that only indirectly reflects intracompartmental muscle perfusion. As a result, instances of unnecessary fasciotomy and unrecognized CS are relatively common. Recently, near‐infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)‐based systems for compartment monitoring have generated interest as an adjunct tool. Under ideal conditions, NIRS directly measures the oxygenation of intracompartmental muscle (StO2), thereby obviating the challenges of interpreting equivocal clinical examination or ICP data. Despite these potential advantages, existing NIRS sensors are plagued by technical difficulties that limit clinical utility. Most of these limitations relate to their transcutaneous design that makes them susceptible to both interference from intervening skin/subcutaneous tissue, underlying hematoma, and instability of the skin‐sensor interface. Here, we present a flexible, wireless, Bluetooth‐enabled, percutaneously introducible intramuscular NIRS device that directly and continuously measures the StO2 of intracompartmental muscle. Proof of concept for this device is demonstrated in a swine lower extremity balloon compression model of acute CS, wherein we simultaneously track muscle oxygenation, ICP, and compartment perfusion pressure (PP). The observed StO2 decreased with increasing ICP and decreasing PP and then recovered following pressure reduction. The mean change in StO2 as the PP was decreased from baseline to 30 mmHg was −7.6%. The mean difference between baseline and nadir StO2 was −17.4%. Cross‐correlations (absolute value) describing the correspondence between StO2 and ICP were >0.73. This novel intramuscular NIRS device identifies decreased muscle perfusion in the setting of evolving CS. Statement of Clinical Significance: This novel intramuscular near‐infrared spectroscopy device can directly measure the perfusion of intracompartmental muscle and holds promise as a potential clinical tool to facilitate early and accurate diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome of the limb. Introduction: Zimbabwe is scaling up pre‐exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for key populations, including men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW). To assess implementation and inform HIV programming, we evaluated gaps in PrEP awareness, uptake and use, and correlates of awareness and uptake among a sample of MSM, TGW and genderqueer individuals (GQ) in Harare and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Methods: Respondent‐driven sampling was used to recruit 1194 MSM and 344 TGW/GQ aged ≥18 to participate in a cross‐sectional survey assessing HIV‐related outcomes in 2019. Consenting participants completed a questionnaire on socio‐demographic information, sexual risk practices and engagement in HIV services and underwent HIV testing. Descriptive statistics were used to assess the PrEP cascade. Multiple logistic regression models were used to identify factors associated with PrEP awareness and uptake among HIV‐negative participants. Data were unweighted as the sample did not reach convergence on key estimates. Results: Among the 1167 HIV‐negative participants, most (79.2%) were MSM compared to TGW/GQ (20.8%). Median age was 24 years. Overall, 45.8% were aware of PrEP and of those, 31.3% had ever taken PrEP. Most (71.1%) reporting never taking PrEP were willing to start PrEP; the main reasons for never starting PrEP included not knowing where to access it (24.8%) and fearing side effects (20.4%). Among those who had ever taken PrEP, 74.9% had taken PrEP in the last 6 months; of these, 42.4% had taken PrEP the day of or day preceding the survey. Side effects represented the most common (59.5%) reason for discontinuing PrEP. MSM (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 2.5, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.8–3.6) and TGW/GQ in Harare (aOR: 3.1, 95% CI: 2.1–4.7), and TGW/GQ in Bulawayo (aOR: 2.4, 95% CI: 1.1–5.3) had higher awareness of PrEP than MSM in Bulawayo. Overall, TGW/GQ were more likely to have ever taken PrEP compared to MSM (aOR: 1.6, 95% CI: 1.01–2.4). Conclusions: Findings emphasize the need for tailored interventions to promote PrEP among key populations. As HIV programs in Zimbabwe continue to expand PrEP services, these data, including barriers to starting and continuing PrEP, can inform strategies to address gaps along the PrEP cascade. Nutrients play critical roles in maintaining core physiological functions and in preventing diseases. Technologies for delivering these nutrients and for monitoring their concentrations can help to ensure proper nutritional balance. Eccrine sweat is a potentially attractive class of biofluid for monitoring purposes due to the ability to capture sweat easily and noninvasively from nearly any region of the body using skin‐integrated microfluidic technologies. Here, a miniaturized system of this type is presented that allows simple, rapid colorimetric assessments of the concentrations of multiple essential nutrients in sweat, simultaneously and without any supporting electronics – vitamin C, calcium, zinc, and iron. A transdermal patch integrated directly with the microfluidics supports passive, sustained delivery of these species to the body throughout a period of wear. Comparisons of measurement results to those from traditional lab analysis methods demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of this platform. On‐body tests with human subjects reveal correlations between the time dynamics of concentrations of these nutrients in sweat and those of the corresponding concentrations in blood. Studies conducted before and after consuming certain foods and beverages highlight practical capabilities in monitoring nutritional balance, with strong potential to serve as a basis for guiding personalized dietary choices. Haptic technology involves the use of electrical or mechanical means to stimulate afferent nerves or mechanoreceptors in the skin as the basis for creating sensations of physical touch that can qualitatively expand virtual or augmented reality experiences beyond those supported by visual and auditory cues alone. An emerging direction in this field involves the development of platforms that provide spatiotemporal patterns of sensation to the skin across not only the fingertips, but to any and all regions of the body, using thin, skin‐like technologies that impose negligible physical burden on the user. This review highlights the biological basis for skin interfaces of this type and the latest advances in haptics in the context of this ambitious goal, including electrotactile and vibrotactile devices that support perceptions of touch in form factors that have potential as skin‐integrated interfaces. The content includes a discussion of schemes for integrating these stimulators into programmable arrays, with an emphasis on scalable materials and designs that have the potential to support soft interfaces across large areas of the skin. A concluding section summarizes the potential consequences of successful research efforts in this area, along with key multidisciplinary challenges and associated research opportunities in materials science and engineering. Robust literature supports the positive effects of kangaroo mother care (KMC) on infant physiologic stability and parent–infant bonding in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Comparatively little is known about kangaroo father care (KFC) in the NICU, and KFC implementation has been limited. Our pilot feasibility study objective was to examine KFC effects on premature infants and fathers as compared to KMC. Parents of preterm NICU infants independently completed a 90‐min Kangaroo Care (KC) session on consecutive days. Infant heart rate variability (HRV) and apnea/periodicity measures were compared (pre‐KC to KC; KFC to KMC). Additionally, we assessed the feasibility of administering three psychosocial questionnaires to fathers and mothers in the NICU and after discharge. Ten preterm infants completed 20 KC sessions (334/7–374/7 weeks post‐menstrual age). Results demonstrated similar infant physiologic responses between KMC and KFC, including significant differences in measures of HRV (p <.05) between KC and non‐KC periods. Eighty‐eight percentage of questionnaires administered were completed, supporting the utilization of these instruments in future research of this population. If confirmed, these preliminary results identify an opportunity to objectively assess KFC effects, supporting the development of empirically based KFC programs benefitting NICU families. Injured peripheral nerves typically exhibit unsatisfactory and incomplete functional outcomes, and there are no clinically approved therapies for improving regeneration. Post‐operative electrical stimulation (ES) increases axon regrowth, but practical challenges, from the cost of extended operating room time to the risks and pitfalls associated with transcutaneous wire placement, have prevented broad clinical adoption. This study presents a possible solution in the form of advanced bioresorbable materials for a type of thin, flexible, wireless implant that provides precisely controlled ES of the injured nerve for a brief time in the immediate post‐operative period. Afterward, rapid, complete, and safe modes of bioresorption naturally and quickly eliminate all of the constituent materials in their entirety, without the need for surgical extraction. The unusually high rate of bioresorption follows from the use of a unique, bilayer enclosure that combines two distinct formulations of a biocompatible form of polyanhydride as an encapsulating structure, to accelerate the resorption of active components and confine fragments until complete resorption. Results from mouse models of tibial nerve transection with re‐anastomosis indicate that this system offers levels of performance and efficacy that match those of conventional wired stimulators, but without the need to extend the operative period or to extract the device hardware. A deep‐learning‐based approach to estimating the number of coherent sources in radar is presented. A proper estimate of the number of sources in a signal enables improved angle‐of‐arrival (AoA) estimation common in applications such as radar, sonar, and communication systems. Many AoA estimators utilised in these areas require accurate estimates of the number of sources for enhanced performance. Herein, a robust method that performs well under the existence of coherent sources is developed. The proposed method is based on deep learning and it is shown to perform better than state‐of‐the‐art versions of the Akaike Information Criteria (AIC), Minimum Description Length (MDL), and Exponentially Embedded Families (EEF) estimators, which employ spatial smoothing of the covariance matrix to handle coherent signals. Prenatal stress exposure increases vulnerability to virtually all forms of psychopathology. Based on this robust evidence base, we propose a "Mental Health, Earlier" paradigm shift for prenatal stress research, which moves from the documentation of stress‐related outcomes to their prevention, with a focus on infant neurodevelopmental indicators of vulnerability to subsequent mental health problems. Achieving this requires an expansive team science approach. As an exemplar, we introduce the Promoting Healthy Brain Project (PHBP), a randomized trial testing the impact of the Wellness‐4‐2 personalized prenatal stress‐reduction intervention on stress‐related alterations in infant neurodevelopmental trajectories in the first year of life. Wellness‐4‐2 utilizes bio‐integrated stress monitoring for just‐in‐time adaptive intervention. We highlight unique challenges and opportunities this novel team science approach presents in synergizing expertise across predictive analytics, bioengineering, health information technology, prevention science, maternal–fetal medicine, neonatology, pediatrics, and neurodevelopmental science. We discuss how innovations across many areas of study facilitate this personalized preventive approach, using developmentally sensitive brain and behavioral methods to investigate whether altering children's adverse gestational exposures, i.e., maternal stress in the womb, can improve their mental health outlooks. In so doing, we seek to propel developmental SEED research towards preventive applications with the potential to reduce the pernicious effect of prenatal stress on neurodevelopment, mental health, and wellbeing. Background: Facial aging is a multifactorial process characterized by structural changes to the dermis and ligaments, lipoatrophy in the fat pads and hypodermis, remodeling of the bony skeleton, change in muscle tonicity and tissue descent. Aims: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a hyaluronic acid‐based treatment for the aging face that addresses all its causes in a caudal to cranial and medial to lateral direction: the centrifugal technique. Methods: Between March 2015 and January 2018, 187 patients were treated with a high G' hyaluronic acid in two sessions, one/two weeks apart, to improve signs of facial aging, starting from the lower centrofacial area and progressing laterally and cranially. Results were assessed using a Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) judging pre‐ and post‐treatment (32 weeks) pictures. Results: The technique effectively treated the aging face. The investigator and all patients evaluated the results improved or very much improved and agreed that the results were very natural looking. Conclusion: Use of a systematic centrifugal technique to address the signs of facial aging resulted in significant and long‐lasting improvement, as judged by the investigator and high patient acceptance and satisfaction. Introduction: The global target for 2020 is that ≥90% of people living with HIV (PLHIV) receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) will achieve viral load suppression (VLS). We examined VLS and its determinants among adults receiving ART for at least four months. Methods: We analysed data from the population‐based HIV impact assessment (PHIA) surveys in Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe (2015 to 2017). PHIA surveys are nationally representative, cross‐sectional household surveys. Data collection included structured interviews, home‐based HIV testing and laboratory testing. Blood samples from PLHIV were analysed for HIV RNA, CD4 counts and recent exposure to antiretroviral drugs (ARVs). We calculated representative estimates for the prevalence of VLS (viral load <1000 copies/mL), nonsuppressed viral load (NVL; viral load ≥1000 copies/mL), virologic failure (VF; ARVs present and viral load ≥1000 copies/mL), interrupted ART (ARVs absent and viral load ≥1000 copies/mL) and rates of switching to second‐line ART (protease inhibitors present) among PLHIV aged 15 to 59 years who participated in the PHIA surveys in Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, initiated ART at least four months before the survey and were receiving ART at the time of the survey (according to self‐report or ARV testing). We calculated odds ratios and incidence rate ratios for factors associated with NVL, VF, interrupted ART, and switching to second‐line ART. Results: We included 9200 adults receiving ART of whom 88.8% had VLS and 11.2% had NVL including 8.2% who experienced VF and 3.0% who interrupted ART. Younger age, male sex, less education, suboptimal adherence, receiving nevirapine, HIV non‐disclosure, never having married and residing in Zimbabwe, Lesotho or Zambia were associated with higher odds of NVL. Among people with NVL, marriage, female sex, shorter ART duration, higher CD4 count and alcohol use were associated with lower odds for VF and higher odds for interrupted ART. Many people with VF (44.8%) had CD4 counts <200 cells/µL, but few (0.31% per year) switched to second‐line ART. Conclusions: Countries are approaching global VLS targets for adults. Treatment support, in particular for younger adults, and people with higher CD4 counts, and switching of people to protease inhibitor‐ or integrase inhibitor‐based regimens may further reduce NVL prevalence. Improving and optimizing the processes for transfer printing have the potential to further enhance capabilities in heterogeneous integration of various sensing materials on unconventional substrates for implantable and stretchable electronic devices in biosensing, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications. An advanced transfer printing method based on sacrificial layer engineering for silicon carbide materials in stretchable electronic devices is presented here. In contrast to the typical processes where defined anchor structures are required for the transfer step, the use of a sacrificial layer offers enhances versatility in releasing complex microstructures from rigid donor substrates to flexible receiver platforms. The sacrificial layer also minimizes twisting and wrinkling issues that may occur in free‐standing microstructures, thereby facilitating printing onto flat polymer surfaces (e.g., polydimethylsiloxane). The experimental results demonstrate that transferred SiC microstructures exhibit good stretchability, stable electrical properties, excellent biocompatibility, as well as promising sensing‐functions associated with a high level of structural perfection, without any cracks or tears. This transfer printing method can be applied to other classes of wide bandgap semiconductors, particularly group III‐nitrides and diamond films epitaxially grown on Si substrates, thereby serving as the foundation for the development and possible commercialization of implantable and stretchable bioelectronic devices that exploit wide bandgap materials. Pressures at targeted locations inside the human body serve as critically important diagnostic parameters for monitoring various types of serious or even potentially fatal medical conditions including intracranial, intra‐abdominal, and pulmonary hypertension, as well as compartment syndromes. Implantable commercial sensors provide satisfactory accuracy and stability in measurements of pressure, yet surgical removal is required after recovery of the patient to avoid infections and other risks associated with long‐term implantation. Sensors that dissolve in biofluids (or, equivalently, bioabsorb or bioresorb) avoid the need for such surgeries, yet current designs involve either hard‐wired connections and/or fail to provide quantitative measurements over clinically relevant lifetimes. Here, a bioresorbable, wireless pressure sensor based on passive inductor‐capacitor resonance circuits in layouts and with sets of materials that overcome these drawbacks is reported. Specifically, optimized designs offer sensitivity as high as ≈200 kHz mmHg−1 and resolution as low as 1 mmHg. Encapsulation approaches that use membranes of Si3N4 and edge seals of natural wax support stable operation in vivo for up to 4 days. The bioresorbable pressure sensing technology reported here may serve as an important solution to temporary, real‐time monitoring of internal pressure for various medical conditions. Wearable monitoring systems provide valuable insights about the state of wellness, performance, and progression of diseases. Although conventional wearable systems have been effective in measuring a few key biophysical markers, they offer limited insights into biochemical activity and are otherwise cumbersome in ambulatory modes of use, relying on wired connections, mechanical straps, and bulky electronics. Recent advances in skin‐interfaced microfluidics, stretchable/flexible electronics, and mechanics have created new wearable systems with capabilities in real‐time, noninvasive analysis of sweat biochemistry in combination with biophysical metrics. Here, the latest technologies in multifunctional sweat sensing systems are presented with a focus on novel microfluidic designs, fully‐integrated wireless electrochemical sensors, and hybrid biochemical/biophysical sensing capabilities, creating real‐time physiological insights. Bioresorbable electronic systems represent an emerging class of technology of interest due to their ability to dissolve, chemically degrade, disintegrate, and/or otherwise physically disappear harmlessly in biological environments, as the basis for temporary implants that avoid the need for secondary surgical extraction procedures. Polyanhydride‐based polymers can serve as hydrophobic encapsulation layers for such systems, as a subset of the broader field of transient electronics, where biodegradation eventually occurs by chain scission. Systematic experimental studies that involve immersion in phosphate‐buffered saline solution at various pH values and/or temperatures demonstrate that dissolution occurs through a surface erosion mechanism, with little swelling. The mechanical properties of this polymer are well suited for use in soft, flexible devices, where integration can occur through a mold‐based photopolymerization technique. Studies of the dependence of the polymer properties on monomer compositions and the rates of permeation on coating thicknesses reveal some of the underlying effects. Simple demonstrations illustrate the ability to sustain operation of underlying biodegradable electronic systems for durations between a few hours to a week during complete immersion in aqueous solutions that approximate physiological conditions. Systematic chemical, physical, and in vivo biological studies in animal models reveal no signs of toxicity or other adverse biological responses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Opportunities for quantitative, real‐time monitoring of gases, ions, and biomolecules in the environment and in the human body motivate programs of fundamental and applied research on chemically selective sensors with fast response times. In this context, silicon field‐effect transistors are of considerable interest as label‐free, scalable platforms for detecting a variety of chemical and biological species. Herein, recent progress and research directions in this area are reviewed. The focus of this article is on operational parameters, device architectures, schemes for surface chemical functionalization, and methods for bio‐integration across a variety of use cases. The content includes strategies that combine Si with other functional materials to create hybrid structures for enhanced sensing performance. MicroLED flat panel displays offer performance advantages that cannot be matched by OLED or LCD, and there is a growing industry consensus that microLED will become the next major flat panel display category. At present, leading companies are demonstrating steady progress against the technological challenges that historically impeded the commercialization of microLED displays, such as those related to mass transfer in manufacturing and efficient fabrication of low‐current, micron‐scale optoelectronic devices. Equally important and also challenging is the pixel‐level circuitry that can efficiently and reliably drive the emitters in these displays. Mass transfer for microLED displays most frequently refers to the process used to distribute small LEDs across a display substrate, but it can also open entirely new advantageous possibilities in backplane design. Mass transfer of microIC drivers as pixel engines for microLED displays is gradually receiving increased attention as a path toward unmatched efficiency, dynamic range, and brightness. This pixel engine display manufacturing approach provides key enabling factors for capital‐efficient, near‐term implementation of microLED displays for consumer markets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the first 20 orbits of the Juno spacecraft around Jupiter, we have identified a variety of wave‐like features in images made by its public‐outreach camera, JunoCam. Because of Juno's unprecedented and repeated proximity to Jupiter's cloud tops during its close approaches, JunoCam has detected more wave structures than any previous surveys. Most of the waves appear in long wave packets, oriented east‐west and populated by narrow wave crests. Spacing between crests were measured as small as ~30 km, shorter than any previously measured. Some waves are associated with atmospheric features, but others are not ostensibly associated with any visible cloud phenomena and thus may be generated by dynamical forcing below the visible cloud tops. Some waves also appear to be converging, and others appear to be overlapping, possibly at different atmospheric levels. Another type of wave has a series of fronts that appear to be radiating outward from the center of a cyclone. Most of these waves appear within 5° of latitude from the equator, but we have detected waves covering planetocentric latitudes between 20°S and 45°N. The great majority of the waves appear in regions associated with prograde motions of the mean zonal flow. Juno was unable to measure the velocity of wave features to diagnose the wave types due to its close and rapid flybys. However, both by our own upper limits on wave motions and by analogy with previous measurements, we expect that the waves JunoCam detected near the equator are inertia‐gravity waves. Plain Language Summary: JunoCam, the visible camera on the Juno spacecraft orbiting Jupiter, has detected hundreds of small‐scale waves and wave‐like features, some as small as 30 km, shorter than ever measured before. Some waves appear near larger features, which may be associated with their origin, but others must be the result of winds hidden beneath the clouds. Most of the waves appear like long trains of narrow, parallel lines, but there is a wide variety of other types of wave‐like features. Some waves converge on each other or cross over each other, and some wavefronts appear to radiate outward from a hurricane‐like storm. Although waves are found over a wide range of latitudes from 20°S to 45°N, the overwhelming majority are found in a narrow band between 5°S and 5°N. The vast majority of these features are found at latitudes with strong prevailing eastward winds, heading in the same direction as Jupiter's rotation. The lack of motion associated with waves at the equator and their similarity to waves measured over even longer time spans by previous spacecraft imply that they are like ripples in a pond but in a rotating fluid, a phenomenon known as inertia‐gravity waves. Pressures in the intracranial, intraocular, and intravascular spaces are important parameters in assessing patients with a range of conditions, of particular relevance to those recovering from injuries or from surgical procedures. Compared with conventional devices, sensors that disappear by natural processes of bioresorption offer advantages in this context, by eliminating the costs and risks associated with retrieval. A class of bioresorbable pressure sensor that is capable of operational lifetimes as long as several weeks and physical lifetimes as short as several months, as combined metrics that represent improvements over recently reported alternatives, is presented. Key advances include the use of 1) membranes of monocrystalline silicon and blends of natural wax materials to encapsulate the devices across their top surfaces and perimeter edge regions, respectively, 2) mechanical architectures to yield stable operation as the encapsulation materials dissolve and disappear, and 3) additional sensors to detect the onset of penetration of biofluids into the active sensing areas. Studies that involve monitoring of intracranial pressures in rat models over periods of up to 3 weeks demonstrate levels of performance that match those of nonresorbable clinical standards.
