In Latin America, one of the key tasks of Community and Liberation Psychology has been to recover the memories of marginalized and excluded communities that have experienced multiple pasts marked by political violence. In Chile, researchers have focused on poor urban neighborhoods, where the question of how memories are transmitted in areas where conflicts and violence are still present has been overlooked. In this context, the following article aims to analyze the ways in which memories are transmitted in a neighborhood that has a long organizational history in the struggle against social inequalities; while at the same time being classified as a critical area by the state due to its current levels of violence and social conflict. The researchers led a 3‐year case study from an ethnographic perspective, and applied a collaborative methodology that brought together the research team and the members of a territorial organization. The analysis is based on 72 interviews, 5 conversation groups and ethnographic observation. The data was analyzed using discourse analysis. The results revealed that the main form of memory transmission is not based on intergenerational narratives of the past, but rather on joint action; namely, dialogical practices among neighborhood residents that generate an ethos; a common way of life. Chitayat syndrome (CHYTS, MIM #617180) is a rare autosomal dominant clinical condition caused by a single missense pathogenic variant in the ERF gene (19q13.2, MIM*611888), which encodes the ETS2 Repressor Factor (ERF) protein. The characteristic features reported to date for this condition are facial dysmorphism, hyperphalangism and respiratory complications during the newborn period. Herein, we report the sixth patient worldwide with a confirmed molecular diagnosis of CHYTS. Our documentation of pectus carinatum, hypoplastic phalanges (as in two previously described patients), and lack of hyperphalangism broadens the phenotypic spectrum of CHYTS. Moreover, our identification of a heterozygous mutation [c.266A>G or p.(Tyr89Cys)] [rs886041001] in this patient provides further evidence that this condition is caused by a recurrent pathogenic variant in ERF. The aim of this research was to evaluate four different cacao ( Theobroma cacao L.) fermentation conditions and their effect on fermented bean quality, in order to be able to recommend the most suitable condition to producers in the municipality of Huimanguillo, Tabasco, Mexico. Fermentations were carried out in square wooden boxes with capacity for 1000, 300, and 100 kg of fresh beans, as well as a rotary drum with capacity for 500 kg thereof. The fermentation process was carried out for 7 days, and the response variables measured were mass temperature, total soluble solids ( TSS), pH, and acidity. The TSS were totally depleted after 2 days, during which time the yeasts transformed them into ethanol at temperatures of 25-35°C. The most notable temperature increase in the four treatments was 49°C on the third day, corresponding to a decrease in pH from 6.31 ± 0.40 to 4.76 ± 0.03 and an increase in acidity from 0.38 ± 0.04 to 1.17 ± 0.25 g kg−1, due to the formation of organic acids. There were no significant differences among the four treatments (Tukey α = 0.05). The cut test showed that fermentation in 300- and 100-kg boxes and in the 500-kg rotary drum produced the same effect on fermentation quality, but the 1000-kg boxes exhibited lower quality (Tukey α = 0.05). In this study, the effects of biomass type and airflow rate on the fuel and soil amendment properties of a solid byproduct (biochar, BC) produced by gasification in a top‐lit updraft reactor are studied. The results indicate that biomass with the highest fuel value index produces BC with the highest quality as a solid fuel. The best properties as a soil amendment are reached by Gua‐30‐BC as follows: the cation‐exchange capacity (CEC) of 18.6 meq/100 g, the water holding capacity (WHC) of 438%, and the total oxidizable organic carbon (TOC) of 14.2%. When the airflow increases from 20 to 40 L/min, the properties of pine BC as a solid fuel are affected. An increase in the gasification temperature leads to a diminished bulk density. Moreover, the ash content increases affecting the heating value of BC, which decreases from 27.71 to 25.5 MJ/kg. The best properties of BC as a solid fuel are reached at 20 L/min. The properties of BC as a soil amendment are affected with increased airflow as follows: the CEC decreases by 22.8%, TOC increases by 232.3%, and WHC increases by 7.6%.
