Background: Everolimus is an oral mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor used as an immunosuppressant and anticancer. Its pharmacokinetics is highly variable, it has a narrow therapeutic window and shows chronotoxicity with the best time at ZT13 and worst time at ZT1 (ZT; Zeitgeber time, time after light onset) in the preclinical setting. Objectives: In the present study, we aimed to investigate whether the pharmacokinetics of everolimus vary according to dosing time and whether sex and feeding status interfere with the chronopharmacokinetics. Method: A single dosage of 5 mg/kg everolimus was administered orally to C57BL/6J male and female mice, in fed or fasted states at ZT1‐rest and ZT13‐activity times and blood and tissue samples were collected at 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 12, and 24 h following drug administration. Ileum, liver, plasma, and thymus concentrations of everolimus were determined. Results: Females had a greater ileum AUC0–24h than males when fed (P = 0.043). Everolimus AUC0–24h in the liver was substantially greater at ZT1 than at ZT13 in a fasted state (P = 0.001). Plasma Cmax, AUC0–24h, and AUCtotal were not statistically significant between the groups (P = 0.098). In one of the target organs of everolimus, the thymus, males had considerably higher amounts at ZT1 than females (P = 0.029). Conclusion: Our findings imply that the pharmacokinetics of everolimus in mice may differ according to dosing time, sex, and feeding. Greater tissue distribution of everolimus at ZT1 may be associated with the worst tolerated time of everolimus. ABSTRACT Background/Aim Materials and Methods Results Conclusions Avulsion injuries have an uncertain prognosis. This study aims to evaluate periodontal ligament healing patterns and factors affecting the survival of replanted avulsed teeth.In this retrospective study, data from 204 avulsed teeth in 143 children (mean age: 9.6 ± 2 years) who sustained avulsion injuries were reviewed. Primary teeth, non‐replanted permanent teeth, and cases with follow‐up shorter than 60 days were excluded. Data analysis included 60 replanted permanent teeth from 41 patients (18 girls and 23 boys), with a follow‐up period ranging from 2 to 147 months. Collected data covered age, gender, extra‐alveolar storage time, root development stage, and periodontal ligament healing patterns. Statistical analysis was performed on the data.Avulsion injuries predominantly occurred during outdoor activities (n = 22, 59.5%), followed by school (n = 10, 27%) and home (n = 5, 13.5%). The main causes were falls (n = 20, 50%), bicycle accidents (n = 6, 15%), sports injuries (n = 5, 12.5%), traffic accidents (n = 2, 5%), and violence (n = 1, 2.5%). Among replanted teeth, 51.7% were immature. Treatments included root canal therapy (n = 30, 50%), apexification (n = 12, 20%), and regeneration (n = 2, 3.3%), while 16 teeth received no treatment. Inflammatory resorption was not observed in teeth replanted within 1 h of injury (8.4%). Functional healing/ankylosis was observed in 14 (23.3%) of the replanted teeth, replacement resorption in 40 (66.7%), and inflammatory resorption in 6 (10%). Replacement resorption affected 66.7% of the replanted teeth, with 62.5% lost over time. Functional healing/ankylosis was more common in mature teeth, while inflammatory resorption was higher in immature teeth. According to Kaplan–Meier estimated survival curves, the survival rate during the 5‐year observation period was 47.5%. Survival times were longer in boys and in mature teeth (p < 0.05).Gender and root development stages were observed to significantly impact the prognosis of replanted avulsed teeth. Background: Standard Cartesian time‐of‐flight (TOF) head magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is routinely used to evaluate the intracranial arteries, but does not provide quantitative hemodynamic information that is useful for patient risk stratification as well as for monitoring treatment and tracking changes in blood flow over time. Quantitative TOF (qTOF) MRA represents a new and efficient method for simultaneous evaluating the intracranial arteries and quantifying blood flow velocity, but it has not yet been evaluated in patients with cerebrovascular disease. Purpose: To evaluate qTOF for simultaneously evaluating the intracranial arteries and quantifying intracranial blood flow velocity in patients with cerebrovascular disease, without the need for a phase contrast (PC) scan. Study Type: Prospective. Subjects: Twenty‐four patients (18 female, 6 male) with cerebrovascular disease. Field Strength/Sequences: Head MRA at 3 T using gradient‐echo 3D qTOF, standard Cartesian TOF, and PC protocols. Assessment: Three independent readers assessed arterial image quality using a 4‐point scale (1: non‐diagnostic, 4: excellent) and artifact presence. Total and component flow velocities obtained with qTOF and PC were measured. Statistical Tests: Wilcoxon signed‐rank tests, Gwet's AC2, intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) for absolute agreement, Bland–Altman analyses, tests of equal proportions. P values <0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Averaged across readers and compared to standard Cartesian TOF, qTOF significantly improved overall arterial image quality (3.8 ± 0.2 vs. 3.6 ± 0.5), image quality at locations of pathology (3.7 ± 0.5 vs. 3.4 ± 0.7), and increased the proportion of evaluations rated without artifacts (63.9% [46/72] vs. 37.5% [27/72]). qTOF significantly agreed with PC for total flow velocity (ICC = 0.71) and component flow velocity (ICC = 0.89). Data Conclusion: qTOF angiography of the head matched or improved upon the image quality of standard Cartesian TOF, reduced image artifacts, and provided quantitative hemodynamic data, without the need for a PC scan. Developing new methods to control the size and shape of the helical structures adopted by foldamers is highly important as the secondary structure displayed by these supramolecular scaffolds often dictates their activity and function. Herein, we report on a systematic study demonstrating that the helical pitch of ortho‐azobenzene/2,6‐pyridyldicarboxamide foldamers can be readily controlled through the nature of the terminal functionality. Remarkably, simply through varying the end group of the foldamer, and without modifying any other structural features of the scaffold, the helical pitch can be over doubled in magnitude (from 3.4 Å–7.3 Å). Additionally, crystallographic analysis of a library ten foldamers has identified general trends in the influence of a range of terminal functionalities, including carboxylbenzyl (Cbz), diphenylcarbamyl (N(Ph)2), ferrocene (Fc) and tert‐butyloxycarbonyl (Boc), in controlling the folding behaviour of these supramolecular scaffolds. Background: Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a malabsorptive condition that develops as a result of massive resection of the small intestine and causes morbidities such as chronic diarrhea, dehydration attacks, parenteral nutrition (PN) dependence, and recurrent infections. Kidney transplantation in this patient group may be complicated by aforementioned morbidities, as well as the absorption problems of immunosuppressive drugs. Methods: We report the first pediatric patient (18‐month‐old male) with SBS secondary to volvulus who underwent a successful living related kidney transplantation with a primary diagnosis of autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease and had a successful 4‐year follow‐up without intestinal transplantation. Results: Tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), and prednisolone were administered for maintenance of immunosuppression after transplantation. The patient reached therapeutic trough levels of tacrolimus with usual doses. The 4‐year renal survival was excellent without a clinical evidence of rejection, despite long‐term necessity of PN and intravenous fluids. Conclusions: Kidney transplantation should not be avoided in patients with SBS solely because of concerns about the effectiveness of immunosuppressive therapy. Prednisolone, tacrolimus, and MMF combination was effective in our case, and these drugs can be considered as first‐line agents in these patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Infants with congenital heart disease (CHD) often undergo thymectomy during corrective cardiac surgery (CCS). The long‐term immunological effects remain controversial, with concerns regarding increased susceptibility to infections, allergies, autoimmunity due to compromised immune tolerance mechanisms. This study aims to elucidate the long‐term immunological effects of early thymectomy. We enrolled 22 patients who underwent thymectomy in infancy and were followed up in the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic at Marmara University. We performed demographic characteristics and detailed immunological evaluation, including immunoglobulins, vaccine responses, lymphocyte subset analyses, upregulation, proliferation of T cells and T‐cell receptor excision circles (TRECs). Sixteen patients had a history of infection, including six serious infections, all in the first year. Lymphopenia was observed in 27% of patients, with a significant decrease in naive CD4+ and recent thymic emigrant T cells counts and an increase in the proportion of memory T‐cells, indicating premature immune senescence. Low levels of IgG, IgA and IgM were found in 36%, 40% and 22% of patients respectively. Vaccine responses were positive in 90% of patients. TREC levels were low in all 10 patients analysed. Seven of nine patients had normal proliferation. Twenty‐two percent of patients had allergic disease, and autoimmunity was not observed. Early thymectomy leads to permanent immunological changes that are indicative of early immunosenescence. It is recommended to preserve thymic tissue during surgery and requires long‐term follow‐up in terms of findings such as allergy and autoimmunity as well as infections due to impaired immune tolerance mechanisms. This study explores adolescents' evaluations of unfair teacher and peer behavior in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) classes. Participants included ninth and tenth grade students from five public schools in the Southeastern United States, (N = 577, 45.9% female, 49% male, 5% other/prefer not to say/unsure). Students were ethnically representative of their communities: 48% White/European American, 22.7% Black/African American, 14% Latino/a/e/x, and 15.3% multi‐racial/other/prefer not to say. Measures assessed adolescents' responses to hypothetical scenarios of unfair treatment. The findings indicate that adolescents recognize both teacher and peer unfair behavior as wrong, with nuanced differences based on participants' gender and grade. Attribution analysis reveals varied expected reasons for unfair treatment. Responses to unfair behavior differ, with adolescents more likely to confront peers than teachers. Demographic factors, school climate, discrimination, belonging, and critical consciousness contribute to variations in judgments and responses. The study highlights the importance of addressing unfair treatment in STEM settings to foster inclusivity and support student persistence in STEM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives Methods Results Conclusion The study aimed to evaluate the expression of CD44, CD47, interleukin‐1 (IL‐1), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF‐α) in immunohistochemically stained (IHS) samples from endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC) and to examine their correlation with clinicopathologic parameters.IHS was used to assess CD44, CD47, IL‐1, and TNF‐α expression in 53 EEC samples. Immunostaining was scored as negative (−), slightly positive (+), moderately positive (++), or strongly/diffuse positive (+++). The prognostic value of these markers was analyzed in relation to clinicopathologic features, including survival.In endometrial cancer tissues, positivity rates were CD44 (81%), CD47 (81%), TNF‐α (40.5%), and IL‐1 (42.9%). Strong and diffuse CD44 staining was associated with improved survival and linked to endocervical invasion and stage. Patients with slightly positive CD47 had significantly higher rates of pelvic and para‐aortic lymph node metastases. Strong TNF‐α staining correlated with grade 3 EEC, while slightly positive IL‐1 staining was associated with increased endocervical invasion. No significant correlation was found between CD47, IL‐1, and TNF‐α expression and survival.CD44 and CD47 were positive in most EEC specimens. CD44 expression was the only marker significantly correlated with overall survival and recurrence. TNF‐α showed a positive correlation with high‐grade tumors, and IL‐1 staining was inversely associated with endocervical invasion. Background: This study was conducted to examine in depth the disease management experiences of school‐age children with celiac disease and the effects of family, friends, and teachers on disease management at school. Methods: The study employed a qualitative research method using the phenomenology design. Face‐to‐face, semi‐structured, in‐depth interviews were conducted with children (n = 14) with celiac disease. The transcripts were analysed using a phenomenological approach and an inductive process. Results: Three main themes were identified: Individual, Institutional, and Environmental. It was observed that children adapted better to the celiac diet as they got older, but they had difficulty adjusting to the diet in the school environment. In addition, it was found that school‐age children had challenges in diagnosing the disease and finding products suitable for the diet in a rural city with limited facilities. It was determined that the approaches of peers and teachers throughout the child's school life affected the disease management levels of children. Conclusion: The study reveals the emotional, cognitive, and behavioural difficulties that children face while adapting to celiac disease and diet, especially in the school environment. Objective: To compare fetal cardiac function in pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia (IDA) vs healthy pregnant controls. Methods: This was a single‐center, prospective, case–control study conducted in a tertiary hospital between November 2022 and September 2023. Women diagnosed with IDA who attended as outpatients at the pregnancy follow‐up clinic at 30–34 weeks' gestation or who were hospitalized for intravenous iron treatment owing to profound anemia were included. The control group consisted of randomly selected gestational‐age‐matched pregnant women with no obstetric complications or comorbidities and who did not have anemia. Patients underwent two‐dimensional imaging, followed by pulsed‐wave Doppler and M‐mode and tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) to evaluate fetal cardiac function. A fetal cardiac score was calculated using systolic, diastolic and global hemodynamic function parameters, and was compared between patients with IDA and those without. The fetal cardiac score was also assessed according to the severity of anemia in the IDA group. Results: A total of 150 patients, comprising 50 patients with IDA and 100 healthy pregnant women at 30–34 weeks' gestation, were included in the study. Of the patients with IDA, 20 had mild, 18 had moderate and 12 had severe anemia. The fetal myocardial performance index and isovolumetric relaxation time were significantly higher in the IDA group compared with the control group (P < 0.0001 for both), while isovolumetric contraction time was similar. Among the fetal tricuspid and mitral valve diastolic parameters, the E, A and E/A values were significantly lower in the IDA group (P < 0.05 for all). Mitral (MAPSE) and tricuspid (TAPSE) annular plane systolic excursions were significantly lower in the IDA group (P < 0.05 for both). The IDA group also had significantly lower values for the TDI parameters mitral and tricuspid E′, A′, S′ and E′/A′ ratio and a significantly higher E/E′ ratio (P < 0.05 for all). Among the IDA subgroups, a significant decrease was observed in the tricuspid and mitral A, E and E/A ratio in fetuses whose mothers had severe anemia (P = 0.001). M‐mode Doppler analysis revealed significantly lower fetal TAPSE and MAPSE in the patient group with severe maternal anemia (P = 0.001 for both). According to the subgroup comparison of TDI findings, the fetuses of mothers with severe anemia had significantly lower tricuspid and mitral E′, A′, S′ and E′/A′ ratio values and a significantly higher E/E′ ratio (P < 0.05 for all). The fetal cardiac score was significantly higher in the maternal IDA group compared with the control group (P < 0.001). A significant negative correlation was found between maternal hemoglobin level and fetal cardiac score (P < 0.001). Conclusions: We observed differences in fetal systolic and diastolic cardiac function in pregnancies with maternal IDA. Fetal cardiac function was affected more among patients with severe anemia. This study found an increased E/E′ ratio in the fetuses of pregnant women with IDA, suggesting decreased fetal heart maturation. We aimed to investigate the immune responses to homologous and heterologous COVID‐19 booster vaccinations in renal transplant recipients (RTRs) and to identify factors affecting these responses. In this prospective multicenter observational study, we measured the antibody kinetics of 90 RTRs using the chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay method. The mean age of participants was 45.2 ± 11.4 years, with 35.6% being female. On the 42nd day after the first vaccine dose, the median antibody level was 16.7 (IQR 2.5−249.5) AU/mL, and the seropositivity rate was 60% (n = 36). Mycophenolic acid (MFA) (OR: 0.087, 95% CI: 0.024−0.311) and ACE inhibitor use (OR: 0.203, 95% CI: 0.052−0.794) were identified as independent factors affecting seropositivity. Patients who received the Pfizer/BioNTech booster had significantly higher antibody levels compared to those who received the CoronaVac/Sinovac booster (p = 0.021). Additionally, a significantly higher rate of COVID‐19 positivity was observed among patients who received the CoronaVac/Sinovac booster (p = 0.031). Heterologous COVID‐19 booster vaccination is significantly more effective than homologous inactivated booster vaccination in enhancing immune responses and preventing new infections in RTRs. Rice is a staple food for vast population of China and it remarkably contributes toward China's food security. Several fiscal programs have been implemented by Chinese central government for sustainable agriculture production. In this study, we examine the long‐run influence of agricultural public investment (API) and (agro)chemical inputs use (i.e., fertilizer and pesticide) on rice yield in main rice‐producing provinces of China. Second‐generation panel unit root tests, Westerlund error correction model cointegration test, Augmented‐Mean Group (AMG) and Common Correlated Effect Mean Group (CCEMG) estimation techniques have been used in this article. The co‐integration test results reveal strong evidence of the existence of the long‐run co‐integrating link between the considered series. The results of the AMG and CCEMG methods show that (i) API, (ii) fertilizer use, and (iii) power consumption for agricultural machinery positively and significantly impact rice productivity, whereas pesticide usage affects it negatively. Panel quantile regression showed that API, fertilizer use, power consumption, and sown area are significant and positive at 0.10–0.90 quantiles. The results also indicate that pesticide usage increases rice production at 0.10–0.30 quantiles but decreases rice production at 0.40–0.90 quantile levels. This study delves into the optimization of niosomal production for biological applications, focusing on their emerging role as amphiphilic nanoparticles derived from nonionic surfactants, poised at the forefront of biomedical research. We aimed to formulate and characterize a diverse array of niosomal nanoparticles, with particular emphasis on process‐related parameters and physicochemical characteristics. Critical thresholds for size, polydispersity, and zeta potential were established to identify parameters crucial for optimal niosomal formulations through a comprehensive investigation of concentrations, sonication times, ingredient ratios, and surfactant types. Leveraging MODDE software, we generated 10 optimized formulations from preliminary parameter screening. The proposed experimental model design by the software exhibited acceptable similarity to the obtained experimental results (F‐score: 0.83). The criteria for selection of the predicted experimental model formed based on targeted physicochemical considerations. To enhance half‐life and penetration, especially in higher electrostatic regions like the central nervous system (CNS), we proposed a neutralized surface charge (−10 to 10 mV) while maintaining size within 100–200 nm and polydispersity below 0.5. Extended stability screening revealed periodic and extended Gaussian distributions for size and zeta potential to minimize flocculation and coagulation caused by neutralized surface charge. Notably, the cellular response performance of optimized niosomes was assessed via cellular binding, uptake, and viability in comparison with liposomes. Glioblastoma cell line (U‐87) and granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor (G‐CSF) containing lymphoblastic leukemia cell line (NFS‐60) were chosen to represent tumors developed in the CNS region and white blood cells, respectively, enabling a comprehensive comparative analysis with liposomes. The meticulous comparison between niosomes and liposomes revealed comparable cellular viability profiles on both U‐87 and NFS‐60 cell lines, highlighting their similarities in cellular interactions. Moreover, selected niosomal formulations demonstrated exceptional cellular uptake, either equaling or surpassing observed liposomal uptake. One of the most promising niosomes was selected and optimized to evaluate drug encapsulation performance of niosomes for further drug delivery adaptations by one of the chemotherapy drugs, paclitaxel (PTX). Cytotoxicity study was established with the most efficiently encapsulated niosomal condition with human‐derived fibroblasts (HDFs) and U‐87 as the representation of healthy and cancerous cell lines. Results demonstrated 1:100 diluted PTX‐loaded niosome in the certain concentration demonstrated favorable toxicity in U‐87 than original PTX at the same concentration while not disturbing healthy HDFs. These findings underscore the potential of niosomes for reliable drug delivery, challenging the dominance of liposomal vehicles and presenting economically viable nanocarriers with significant implications for advancing biomedical research. This study examined the influence of growth temperature and dopant concentration on the properties of Gd‐ and Ni‐doped zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs). ZnO seed layers were deposited on glass substrates using a sol–gel and dip‐coating approach. Gd‐ and Ni‐doped ZnO NRs were hydrothermally grown on the seed layers at different temperatures such as 75, 90, and 105°C for a constant growth time of 5 h. The crystal structure, optical, surface morphology views, and electrical properties of the NRs were extensively investigated by x‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–visible spectroscopy, and four probe experimental methods. The XRD analysis confirmed the successful substitution of Zn2+ ions by Gd3+ and Ni2+ within the ZnO main matrices. The reordering of hexagonal structures with varied electronegativity, ionic radius dimensions, and valence electron states of Gd and Ni dopants affected seriously the fundamental characteristic features of NRs. The SEM images showed that the ZnO NRs grown at 90°C possessed a more favorable surface morphology and well‐defined hexagonal shape compared with those grown at other growth temperatures. Higher dopant concentration led to an increase in NR diameter but a decrease in density depending on the increase in the space between the NRs. Additionally, the optical transmittance was found to generally enhance with increasing dopant concentration. The results obtained highlighted the interplay between growth temperature, dopant type and concentration in tailoring the structural, morphological, and optical properties of Gd‐ and Ni‐doped ZnO NRs, paving the way for the development of optimized nanomaterials for various applications. This paper investigates the role of management practices and international learning in management and marketing innovations. Additionally, it examines whether these innovations have impact on innovation performance. Based on data drawn from the World Bank Enterprise Survey for Turkish firms, the results of the empirical analyses indicate that while management practices and international learning from exporting and technology licensing contribute to management innovation, only management practices favor marketing innovation. Furthermore, the findings show that both types of innovation foster product innovation performance. This study aims to advance research on management and marketing innovations by considering management practices and international learning as antecedents, and by exploring innovation performance consequences of non‐technological innovations in an emerging economy. Purpose: To investigate whether patients undergoing percutaneous liver mass biopsy (PLMB) can be safely discharged following a two‐hour monitoring period. Methods: A multi‐center prospective analysis was conducted for 375 patients (196 males and 179 females), mean age 63 ± 12.45 years (range 37–89) who underwent PLMB between August 2023 and March 2024. Patients were monitored for 24 h, and complications were classified as minor or major. The timing of complications was categorized into three groups: within the first two hours, between the 2nd and 24th hours, and within 1 week after 24 hours. Results: Minor complications occurred in 18.93% (71/375) and major complications in 2.13% (8/375). Most minor complications (80.2%, 57/71) appeared within the first two hours, 12.7% (9/71) between 2 and 24 h, and 7.1% (5/71) after 24 h. All major complications (62.5%, 5/8) except late‐onset cases, occurred within the first two hours. No major complications occurred between 2 and 24 h. Late‐onset major complications occurred in 37.5% (3/8) after 24 h. Conclusion: The two‐hour monitoring period did not adversely impact patient management regarding minor complications and is safe for identifying all major complications except for late‐onset ones. Introduction: Although the health effects of first‐hand smoke and second‐hand smoke are well known, third‐hand smoke (THS) is a relatively new concept. We estimated the prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful to health, including for some subgroups, in a meta‐analysis. Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, EBSCO Host, ProQuest, and YOKTEZ databases for the prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful to health using specified search words. A total of 12 publications (n = 8549 people) were included in the meta‐analysis. The random effect model was used for meta‐analysis, and Cochran's Q test and I2 values were used to determine heterogeneity. Subgroup analyzes and meta‐regression were also performed. Results: The prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful was 80.1%. The prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful for children was 82%, and the prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful for adults was 70.4%. For health professionals, the prevalence of people's knowledge that THS is harmful for children was 89.8%, the highest prevalence value calculated in this meta‐analysis. Cochran's Q test and I2 values indicated that the included studies were heterogeneous. Aim: To evaluate the vaccine response and the effect of the booster dose on COVID‐19 positivity in haemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients who received and did not receive BNT162b2 as a booster dose after two doses of CoronaVac. Methods: The study included 80 PD and 163 HD patients, who had been administered two doses of the CoronaVac. Antibody levels were measured on Days 42 and 90 after the first dose. Measurements were repeated on Day 181 after the first dose in the patients that received two vaccine doses and on Day 28 after the third dose in those that also received the booster dose. Antibody levels below 50 AU/mL were considered negative. Results: The seropositivity rate was similar in the HD and PD group on Days 42 and 90 (p = 0.212 and 0.720). All patients were seropositive in the booster group. The antibody level was lower in the patients that received CoronaVac as the booster compared to those administered BNT162b2 in HD and PD groups (p < 0.001 and 0.002). COVID‐19 positivity was detected in 11 patients (7 = had not received the booster dose, 4 = had received third dose of CoronaVac). The multivariate analysis revealed that as age increased, COVID‐19 positivity also increased (OR: 1.080, 95% CI: 1.017 – 1.146, p = 0.012), while booster dose administration decreased this positivity (OR: 0.113, 95% CI: 0.028 – 0.457, p = 0.002). Conclusion: Our results may indicate the need for additional vaccination doses in patients with HD and PD. Our findings indicate a higher antibody response in dialysis patients with heterologous BNT162b2 as a booster dose after two doses of CoronaVac compared to homologous CoronaVac. ABSTRACT In this study, we report the synthesis, characterization, and biological investigation of antimony(III) halide complexes with various coordination architectures constructed from thiophene thiosemicarbazones. Antimony(III) thiophene‐2‐carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazone complexes (1, 2, 4, and 5) exhibit a square pyramidal geometry, with ligands coordinated to the central antimony atom in two distinct binding modes. In contrast, antimony(III) 2‐acetylthiophene thiosemicarbazone complexes (3, 6, and 7) adopt a seesaw geometry. These complexes (1–7) represent the first reported examples of antimony(III) halide thiosemicarbazone compounds. The unique coordination environments observed in these complexes are of significant importance within the realm of antimony chemistry. These synthesized complexes exhibit different coordination geometries as well as potential biological activities. The antiproliferative activity against the human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF‐7) cell line and antimicrobial activity against Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria were assessed. Antimony(III) thiophene‐2‐carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazone complexes (1, 2, 4, and 5) showed significant antiproliferative activity with IC50 values ranging from 8.5 to 19.1 μM, while antimony(III) 2‐acetylthiophene thiosemicarbazone complexes (3, 6, and 7) had higher IC50 values. The current study develops the first and novel gold nanoparticle‐ionic liquid nanostructure modified microbial biosensor based on Pleurotus ostreatus for the sensitive determination of Bisphenol A. In the construction of the microbial biosensor, lyophilized P.ostreatus cells were modified with ionic liquid‐cysteamine mixture on a gold electrode which was modified with 1,6‐hexanedithiol and gold nanoparticle. The measurement principle of the biosensor is based on the detection of changes in current in a phosphate buffer system (pH 7.5, 50 mM and containing 5.0 mM K3[Fe(CN)6]) in the potential range of −0.2 to +0.6 V depending on the BPA concentration. In the optimization studies of the microbial biosensor; the most suitable ionic liquid‐cysteamin ratio was 1 : 2 (v/v) and the incubation time of 1,6‐hexanedithiol on the gold electrode was 6 hours. Optimum working conditions were determined to be pH:7.5, 100 mM potassium phosphate buffer, and 35°C. In the characterization studies of the microbial biosensor, parameters such as linearity, interference effects of some substances on the microbial biosensor responses, repeatability, reproducibility and storage stability of the microbial biosensor were determined. The linear range of the biosensor was obtained 10–250 μM. Limit of detection was determined to be 1.57 μM and the response time was obtained 20 seconds. Background/Aim: Dental avulsion injury, being one of the traumatic dental injuries, has negative impacts on children's life quality. This study aims to evaluate the Pediatric Oral Health‐Related Quality of Life (POQL) scores of children with dental avulsion history from their perspective. Materials and Methods: The population of this cross‐sectional study comprises 40 patients, aged between 8 and 14, who have a history of dental avulsion, in comparison to 40 other healthy peers. A questionnaire including general questions (such as age, gender, loss of tooth due to dental avulsion, malocclusion) and POQL instrument, with subscales including physical function, social function, emotional function, and role function, were completed by these children. Mann–Whitney U‐test is used when comparing the POQL scores. Results: The social scores (median: 47, interquartile range [IQR]: 17–95) and total score percentages (median: 30, IQR: 14–40) of children with a history of avulsion were higher than those of their healthy peers (p < 0.05). The higher total POQL scores among girls (median: 37, IQR: 31–47) with a history of dental avulsion compared to boys (median: 19, IQR: 8–34) (p =.002) can be attributed to girls achieving higher scores in both social (median: 81, IQR: 39–100) and emotional (median: 35, IQR: 17–47) scores following dental avulsion (psocial =.02, pemotional =.006). Whether the avulsed tooth is replanted or not, it has not made any visible impact on the POQL scores. However, the loss of replanted teeth over time has created a borderline significant difference in emotional scores (median: 21, IQR: 11–35, p =.055). Conclusion: Within the limits of our study, avulsion injuries have negative effects on children's emotional, social, and total quality of life. Even though avulsion injuries may be inevitable, to prevent these negative effects, it is vital to provide appropriate psychological support in the treatment of these children. Background: Tumors indicating the advanced stage of mycosis fungoides (MF) have a rich clinical spectrum. Although it is known that the prognosis of MF generally worsens following the development of tumors, some cases may have a relatively indolent course, and the role of clinical characteristics regarding prognosis has still not been well understood. Methods: MF patients were retrospectively evaluated regarding the development of tumors. Besides demographic characteristics, data of the subtype and stage of the disease were recorded. The clinical features of tumors, including number (<5, 5–10, 11–20, or >20), location, dimension (diameter of ≥5 cm), presence of ulceration, and surrounding inflammation, were noted. Univariate and multivariate analyses evaluated the relationship between overall survival (OS) with demographic and clinical features. Results: Among 730 consecutive MF patients, tumors developed in 8.2% (n = 60), of whom 46.7% were diagnosed with advanced‐stage MF from the beginning. The most common subtype was folliculotropic MF (53.3%). Most patients (55%) had multiple tumors, and the most frequent localization was the trunk (71.7%). Most tumors presented as smooth‐surfaced, indurated papules and/or nodules (70%), while others were reddish‐purple, occasionally accompanied by ulceration (50%), perilesional inflammation (23.3%), and attaining large dimensions (25%). Mortality was recorded in 51.7% of patients, and the 5‐year OS rate from the diagnosis of tumors was 49%. Independent poor prognostic factors for OS in multivariate analysis included older age at the time of diagnosis, presence of tumors at the initial MF diagnosis, presence of over 20 tumors, and the existence of large tumors. Conclusions: Tumoral MF seen in older patients, the first diagnosis of MF in this stage, presenting with generalized and large tumors, seems to be a predictive factor for OS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Floods, droughts, and rainfall‐induced landslides are hydro‐hazards that affect millions of people every year. Anticipation, mitigation, and adaptation to these hazards is increasingly outpaced by their changing magnitude and frequency due to climate change. A key question for society is whether the research we pursue has the potential to address knowledge gaps and to reduce potential future hazard impacts where they will be most severe. We use natural language processing, based on a new climate hazard taxonomy, to review, identify, and geolocate out of 100 million abstracts those that deal with hydro‐hazards. We find that the spatial distribution of study areas is mostly defined by human activity, national wealth, data availability, and population distribution. Hydro‐hazard events that impact large numbers of people lead to increased research activity, but with a strong disparity between low‐ and high‐income countries. We find that 100 times more people need to be affected by hazards before low‐income countries reach comparable research activity to high‐income countries. This "Wealth over Woe" bias needs to be addressed by enabling and targeting research on hydro‐hazards in highly impacted and under‐researched regions, or in those sufficiently socio‐hydrologically similar. We urgently need to reduce knowledge base biases to mitigate and adapt to changing hydro‐hazards if we want to achieve a sustainable and equitable future for all global citizens. Plain Language Summary: Floods, droughts, and landslides are "natural hazards" responsible for the deadliest and most costly disasters globally. The scientific community studies these hazards to reduce their undesired impacts on society. To assess whether these research efforts are well‐targeted, we require a global overview of where these hazards are studied and whether impacted regions are considered. Hence, we create a global map of flood, drought, and landslide research that shows whether published research is distributed equitably. We find that there is more research in regions where many people live, in wealthy regions, and in regions that have had disasters happening in the past. However, the level of research in wealthy countries is much higher despite considerably more people being affected by disasters in low‐income countries. Based on our findings, we recommend regions where more research is needed for an equitable distribution of research so that all of global society is better prepared for future disasters. Purpose. To evaluate the predictive potency of a novel index combining the pan‐immune‐inflammatory index and hemoglobin levels (PIV/Hb) for the prevalence of radiation‐induced trismus (RIT) in patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal cancer (LA‐NPC) receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Methods. Data from 228 LA‐NPC patients were retrospectively examined. Maximum mouth openings (MMO) were measured to confirm the presence of RIT, defined as MMOs ≤35 mm. Complete blood test results from the first day of CCRT were used to calculate PIV/Hb levels. A potential relationship between pretreatment PIV/Hb and the RIT status was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results. Post‐CCRT RIT was diagnosed in 20.2% of the patients. The ROC curve analysis determined 68.4 g/dL as the ideal PIV/Hb cutoff that effectively divided patients into two distinct groups (area under the curve: 94.7%; specificity: 86.4%; sensitivity: 87.4%). RIT was significantly more prevalent in the PIV/Hb > 68 group than in the PIV/Hb < 68 group (58.8% vs. 3.8%; P < 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that a pre‐CCRT PIV > 68 was independently associated with significantly higher rates of RIT. Conclusion. In recent years, the implementation of Tier 5 emission regulations for tractors has compelled manufacturers to conduct new research. Additionally, the process of hybridization has impacted the agricultural vehicle industry. This study focuses on the design and implementation of an energy management strategy (EMS) for a diesel–electric hybrid electric agricultural vehicle, based on real‐time optimization. Tractor drive systems, including both conventional and hybrid options, were introduced. Simulations were performed to compare fuel consumption and CO2 emissions between the two types of tractors. The data shows that hybrid vehicles produce 8.93% less CO2 than conventional vehicles. Objective: Many people with epilepsy experience comorbid anxiety and depression, and antidepressants remain a primary treatment for this. Emerging evidence suggests that these agents may modulate epileptogenesis to influence disease severity. Here, we assessed how treatment with the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant fluoxetine impacts epileptogenic, behavioral, and pathological sequelae following status epilepticus. Methods: Male Wistar rats received kainic acid to induce status epilepticus (SE) or vehicle (sham). Animals then received either fluoxetine (10 mg/kg/day) or vehicle for 8 weeks via subcutaneous osmotic pump. Video‐electroencephalography was recorded continuously until behavioral testing at day 56, including assessments of anxiety‐ and depression‐like behavior and spatial cognition. Postmortem immunocytochemistry studies examined mossy fiber sprouting. Results: Fluoxetine treatment significantly accelerated epileptogenesis following SE, reducing the average period to the first spontaneous seizure (from 32 days [vehicle] to 6 days [fluoxetine], p <.01). Also, fluoxetine exposure magnified the severity of the resultant epilepsy, increasing seizure frequency compared to vehicle (p <.01). Exposure to fluoxetine was associated with improved anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors but significantly worsened cognition. Mossy fiber sprouting was more pronounced in fluoxetine‐treated rats compared to vehicle (p <.0001). Significance: Our studies demonstrate that, using a model exhibiting spontaneous seizures, epileptogenesis is accelerated and magnified by fluoxetine, an effect that may be related to more severe pathological neuroplasticity. The differential influence of fluoxetine on behavior indicates that different circuitry and mechanisms are responsible for these comorbidities. Deploying institutional theory to analyze the transfer of transgender diversity policy in Pakistan, our research highlights the crucial influence of national context with respect to the development and implementation of transgender‐supportive equality measures in multinational corporation subsidiaries. Based on semi‐structured interviews with 4 government officials, and 30 managers, HR leads, and diversity officers working in subsidiary organizations, our thematic analysis highlights how regulatory institutions, normative and cognitive institutions, and institutional distance inform the conditions of possibility for the transfer and execution of diversity policy across national boundaries. Moreover, by highlighting the inadequacy of etic understandings of diversity categories and practices in settings where social structures and ideologies can be different, we argue that utilizing an emic approach is essential in the global diversity field. Objective: The crista galli (CG), located in the anterior cranial fossa and associated with the cranial structures here, is a bony prominence on the ethmoid bone. In this study, we aimed to examine the anatomical variations and pneumatization status of the CG in individuals with cleft lip and palate (CLP) and to compare them with those of individuals without CLP. Material and methods: Data from 16‐ to 25‐year‐old individuals with non‐syndromic cleft lip and palate and control individuals without any syndrome or disease who underwent cone beam computed tomography were used. Measurement of the CG height (superoinferior, on the coronal section), width (laterolateral, on the axial section), and length (anteroposterior, on the axial section) dimensions. In addition, a categorical evaluation of CG morphology, CG pneumatization, olfactory fossa depth, and position of the CG in the ethmoid area (Keros classification) was performed. Results: Although the superoinferior diameter and laterolateral diameter values of the CG did not differ between the groups, the anteroposterior diameter values were found to be significantly (p = 0.047) lower in individuals with CLP (11.95 ± 2.57 mm) compared with control (13.23 ± 2.05 mm). There was no difference in the morphology or pneumatization status of the CG between the groups. Conclusion: Except for the anteroposterior length, there was no difference in CG morphometric measurements between individuals with CLP and control. The present study was carried out to assess the fruit traits and phytochemical properties of 39 mulberry genotypes [Morus alba L. (16 white mulberry), Morus rubra L. (11 red mulberry), and Morus nigra L. (12 black mulberry)] selected in Bitlis province (Hizan) of Türkiye. Approximately, 1 kg fruit were hand‐harvested from each genotype. The fruit size, fruit color, pH, titratable acidity, soluble solids content (SSC), vitamin C, total phenolics, total flavonoids, antioxidant activity, and individual phenolic compounds were determined. The fruit weight varied between 1.80 and 5.84 g in black mulberry, 1.22 and 4.18 g in red mulberry, and 1.29 and 3.10 g in white mulberry. In white mulberry, SSC was determined to be between 19.00% and 38.86%, and in black and red mulberry it was between 11.86% and 21.90% and 12.60% and 18.90%, respectively. The titratable acidity rate, which varied depending on the species, was lower in white mulberry, but the highest acidity rate was recorded in red mulberry. Vitamin C was determined as 33.13 mg 100 g−1 in red mulberry, 24.10 mg 100 g−1 in black mulberry, and 14.03 mg 100 g−1 in white mulberry. Total phenolics in mulberries varied depending on the species, and the red mulberry fruit contained higher phenolic substances, followed by black and white mulberries. The total flavonoids varied between 0.27 and 7.83 g QE kg−1, whereas the flavonoids varied depending on the species and genotype. The highest values in terms of bioactive compounds were recorded in fruits of the 13HZN23 and 37 genotypes. In this study, we investigate the intricate regulatory mechanisms underlying the circadian clock in Drosophila, focusing on the light‐induced conformational changes in the cryptochrome (DmCry). Upon light exposure, DmCry undergoes conformational changes that prompt its binding to Timeless and Jetlag proteins, initiating a cascade crucial for the starting of a new circadian cycle. DmCry is subsequently degraded, contributing to the desensitization of the resetting mechanism. The transient and short‐lived nature of DmCry protein–protein interactions (PPIs), leading to DmCry degradation within an hour of light exposure, presents a challenge for comprehensive exploration. To address this, we employed proximity‐dependent biotinylation techniques, combining engineered BioID (TurboID) and APEX (APEX2) enzymes with mass spectrometry. This approach enabled the identification of the in vitro DmCry interactome in Drosophila S2 cells, uncovering several novel PPIs associated with DmCry. Validation of these interactions through a novel co‐immunoprecipitation technique enhances the reliability of our findings. Importantly, our study suggests the potential of this method to reveal additional circadian clock‐ or magnetic field‐dependent PPIs involving DmCry. This exploration of the DmCry interactome not only advances our understanding of circadian clock regulation but also establishes a versatile framework for future investigations into light‐ and time‐dependent protein interactions in Drosophila. Problem: Predicting the impact of systemic inflammation on oocyte and embryonic development in unexplained infertile women using the new immunological indexes. Method of Study: This retrospective cohort study was conducted using the records of the In Vitro Fertilization Department of Ankara Gülhane Training and Research Hospital. After reviewing the records of patients who had undergone in vitro fertilization (IVF) for unexplained infertility (UI) and excluding all known factors that could cause systemic immune inflammation, the systemic immune response index (SIRI), and pan‐immune score were calculated from the pre‐treatment hemogram parameters between the embryo arrest (EA) group and the embryo transfer group. It was investigated whether there was a statistical difference between the two groups and whether an SIRI value affecting embryo quality was found. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to determine the optimal cut‐off values for inflammatory markers to predict EA. Results: The 108 EA group (embryos that were arrested during their development and could not be transferred) and the 140 embryo transfer group showed statistically significant differences in the parameters of systemic inflammatory index (SII), SIRI, pan‐immune inflammation value (PIV), and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) (p < 0.05). These inflammatory parameters, which were examined before ovulation induction, also correlated positively with the required total dose of gonadotropin and negatively with the ovarian sensitivity index (OSI). SII, SIRI, PIV, and NLR have specific cut‐off values with ROC analysis and determine the effect of the inflammatory status of the environment in which the oocyte develops on EA (p < 0.005). Conclusion: In women with UI, high levels of systemic immune inflammation have a negative impact on oocyte and embryo development, and treatments to suppress inflammation may improve IVF success. We consider the Bayesian estimation of the parameters of a finite mixture model from independent order statistics arising from imperfect ranked set sampling designs. As a cost‐effective method, ranked set sampling enables us to incorporate easily attainable characteristics, as ranking information, into data collection and Bayesian estimation. To handle the special structure of the ranked set samples, we develop a Bayesian estimation approach exploiting the Expectation‐Maximization (EM) algorithm in estimating the ranking parameters and Metropolis within Gibbs Sampling to estimate the parameters of the underlying mixture model. Our findings show that the proposed RSS‐based Bayesian estimation method outperforms the commonly used Bayesian counterpart using simple random sampling. In this study, core/shell‐structured mesoporous hybrid silica gel particles were synthesized for the selective adsorption of hyaluronic acid. A non‐ionic amphiphilic polymer core consisting of poly(methyl methacrylate) and poly(ethylene glycol) blocks were coated with SiO2 using the Stöber method in the presence of non‐ionic and cationic surfactants to obtain mesoporous core‐shell silica particles. The surface of silica particles was functionalized through modification of L‐aspartic acid to improve their affinity against the targeted analyte, hyaluronic acid. Physico‐chemical methods including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, zeta‐size measurements, and transmission‐ and scanning‐electron microscopies were utilized to evaluate the properties of core‐silica particles. The surface functionalized core/shell particles have an average size of 254.7 (±33.1) nm as confirmed by TEM analysis. The hyaluronic acid adsorption performance of the modified core‐shell silica particles was optimized through varying pH, concentration, temperature, and contact time parameters. Thermodynamic parameters were estimated by applying adsorption isotherm and kinetics models to assess the favorability of the adsorption process. This research aims to determine how environmental technology (ET), digital financial inclusion (DFI), information and communication technology (ICT), and education affect a firm's performance in China from 1998 to 2020. We have employed the quantile autoregressive distributed lag model to estimate the variables' short‐ and long‐term relationship across various quantiles. In the context of non‐state‐owned enterprises (NSOE), the estimates of ET are positively significant in almost half of the quantiles in the long run, while in the short run, the estimates are insignificant. In the NSOE model, the DFI estimates are significant and positive at the highest quantiles only in the long run and almost at all quantiles in the short run. Likewise, the estimates of ET are positively significant in half quantiles in the long run and insignificant in the short run in terms of state‐owned enterprises (SOE). In the SOE model, the DFI estimates are significant and positive at the highest quantiles only in the long run and at medium and highest quantiles in the short run. ICT and educational development have a favorable impact on a firm's performance across all quantiles in the long run in SOE and NSOE models. However, in the short run, these variables have a favorable impact only at higher quantiles in SOE and NSOE. Cardiotoxicity is the leading side effect of anthracycline‐based chemotherapy. Therefore, it has gained importance to reveal chemotherapy‐supporting strategies and reliable agents with their mechanisms of action. Tannic acid (TA), a naturally occurring plant polyphenol, has diverse physiological effects, including anti‐inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, antioxidant, and radical scavenging properties. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate whether TA exerts a protective effect on mechanisms contributing to anthracycline‐induced cardiotoxicity in rat heart tissues exposed to doxorubicin (DOX). Rats were randomly divided into control and experimental groups and treated with (18 mg/kg) DOX, TA (50 mg/kg), and DOX + TA during the 2 weeks. Cardiac gene markers and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) content were evaluated in the heart tissues of all animals. In addition to major metabolites, mRNA expression changes and biological activity responses of components of antioxidant metabolism were examined in the heart tissues of all animals. The expression of cardiac gene markers increased by DOX exposure was significantly reduced by TA treatment, whereas mtDNA content, which was decreased by DOX exposure, was significantly increased. TA also improved antioxidant metabolism members' gene expression and enzymatic activity, including glutathione peroxidase, glutathione s‐transferase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and thioredoxin reductase. Introduction: To investigate the in vitro effect of diclofenac on tubal smooth muscle as an alternative to hyoscine‐N‐butyl bromide, which is used for premedication before hysterosalpingography (HSG). Material and Methods: Fallopian tubes were retrieved from seven healthy women after bilateral tubal ligation and in vitro contractility and histological studies were conducted using tissue bath and immunohistochemistry. Results: Diclofenac sodium and hyoscine‐N‐butyl bromide did not significantly change the basal mean tension; however, they decreased the contractions induced by potassium chloride (KCl). The relaxant effect of diclofenac sodium and hyoscine‐N‐butyl bromide was not statistically significantly different. The presence of cyclooxygenase (COX)‐2 enzyme in the fallopian tube was demonstrated by immunohistochemical studies. Conclusions: The in vitro relaxant effect of diclofenac sodium on the fallopian tube is similar to hyoscine‐N‐butyl bromide. Introduction: Peritoneal dialysis (PD) remains understudied in disaster nephrology. This retrospective multicenter study explores the experiences of PD survivors following the February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş Earthquake. Methods: Adult PD patients from 11 affected cities were analyzed to assess challenges faced during and postearthquake, alongside clinical outcomes. Results: Among 101 participants (median age: 45 years, median PD duration: 24 months), 57 were female, with 79 on continuous ambulatory PD. Challenges included power outages and water shortages, with primary shelter in kin's houses (33%) and homes (28%). Twelve patients experienced PD program delays, and three lacked assistance postdisaster. Sixteen patients changed PD modalities, with seven experiencing postearthquake peritonitis. Clinical parameters remained stable, except for a slight decrease in hemoglobin levels. Conclusion: Despite challenges, PD survivors exhibited resilience, highlighting the importance of addressing peritonitis and unusual pathogens in disaster preparedness initiatives. This paper presents accurate, prompt, and cost‐effective relative permittivity and loss tangent measurements of low‐loss dielectrics such as DuPontTM VESPEL® SP‐1 and VictrexTM polyetherketone (PEEK) 450G, which are commonly used materials in space communication antennas. It is essential for an antenna engineer to have the information regarding the electrical properties, that is, dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss tangent, magnetic permeability, and magnetic loss tangent at the frequency of interest. The test method relies on the accurate measurements of the S‐parameters of the sample under test by means of Through‐Reflect‐Line (TRL) calibration using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). Nicholson‐Ross‐Weir (NRW) method is employed to get the conversion from S‐parameters to both complex permittivity and permeability values of the samples. The experimental results are verified with the literature data of Teflon and relative permittivity and loss tangent measurements of VESPEL® SP‐1 (εr=3.119±0.043 ${\varepsilon }_{r}=3.119\pm 0.043$, tanδ=(20.893±4.042)*10−3 $\tan \delta =(20.893\pm 4.042)* {10}^{-3}$) and PEEK 450G (εr=3.119±0.015 ${\varepsilon }_{r}=3.119\pm 0.015$, tanδ=(5.654±1.877)*10−3 $\tan \delta =(5.654\pm 1.877)* {10}^{-3}$) are presented for X‐band (8‐10 GHz) frequencies. This study explores the cyberbullying behaviour of football fans in Turkey, examining the effects of fanaticism, dark personality traits, demographic factors and team loyalty. The research encompasses a sample of 152 individuals, revealing that marital status significantly influences both cyberbullying and fanaticism. Various factors, such as how fans watch matches, involvement in fan associations, the purpose of social media use, and attendance at amateur matches, contribute significantly to variations in cyberbullying levels. Fanaticism and dark personality traits are positively correlated with cyberbullying. Regression analyses reveal that the purpose of social media use and watching amateur matches account for 9.3% of cyberbullying, while violence (42.9%) and psychopathy (5.2%) explained 48.2% of the total variance in cyberbullying. Concerning team loyalty, factors like match‐watching habits, attendance at amateur matches, social media use intentions, preferred teams, match‐watching frequency and location of match‐watching jointly account for 41% of the total variance in fanaticism. Additionally, cyberbullying (27.2%) and Machiavellianism (6.3%) together accounted for a total of 33.5% of the variance explained in fanaticism. These findings offer valuable insights into the complex dynamics of cyberbullying and fanaticism within the context of football fandom in Turkey, providing a foundation for future research and potential interventions in this area. Background: Microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) include oral manifestations and complications, including xerostomia, reduced salivary flow, susceptibility to infection, periodontal disease and salivary gland enlargement. Objective: The present study aims to evaluate B‐mode ultrasonography (USG) parameters such as size, volume and echogenicity of the submandibular and parotid salivary glands on both sides, shear‐wave elastography (SWE) value and colour Doppler properties in patients with DM and healthy control groups. Methods: In total, 160 right and left submandibular glands and 160 right and left parotid glands of 80 patients, 40 patients (20 type 1 DM, 20 type 2 DM) and 40 healthy control group, between the ages of 18–70 were examined by USG. Echogenicity, parenchyma internal structure, margin and dimensional measurements (antero‐posterior length, supero‐inferior length, medio‐lateral length and volume) and colour Doppler with 'ML 6‐15‐D Matrix Array (4‐15 MHz)' probe, shear‐wave elastography '9L‐D (2–8 MHz)' probe was investigated. Result: Statistically significant difference was observed in echogenicity in the right submandibular gland, echogenicity in the right parotid gland, margin characteristics, parenchymal homogeneity and colour Doppler characteristics between the type 1 DM, type 2 DM and control groups (p <.05). It was observed that the size, volume and SWE values of both submandibular and parotid glands were higher in the DM patient group than in the control group. Higher values were observed in type 2 DM compared to type 1 DM in the patient group. The wide range of clinical symptoms observed in patients with Fabry disease (FD) often leads to delays in diagnosis and initiation of treatment. Delayed initiation of therapy may result in end‐organ damage, such as chronic renal failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and stroke. Although some tools are available to identify undiagnosed patients, new comprehensive screening methods are needed. In this study, the outcomes of the cascade screening applied to three index cases with FD from 2 familes were investigated. In the pedigree analysis, 280 individuals were included; out of them, 131 individuals underwent genetic testing and cascade screening for FD. During the screening program, a total of 45 individuals were diagnosed, with a diagnostic ratio of 1:15. The average age at diagnosis for all individuals was 30.9 ± 17.7 years, and %25 were pediatric cases (mean age 9.5 ± 5.9 years). Thirty affected relatives were diagnosed from the two index cases in Family 1 and 15 individuals were diagnosed from one index case in Family 2. There were 13 consanguineous marriages observed among 2 pedigres, in two both spouses were affected, leading to two homozygous affected daughters in one couple. In regions where there is a high prevalence of consanguineous marriages, implementing the cascade screening approach to identify all individuals at risk can be beneficial for patients with FD, specifically women and children. Purpose: To examine the cerebro‐placental‐uterine ratio (CPUR) in pregnant women with pregestational diabetes and determine its role in predicting adverse prenatal outcomes. Methods: This prospective, cohort study conducted at a tertiary hospital included 65 patients with pregestational diabetes (25 with type1 diabetes, 40 with type2 diabetes) and 130 low‐risk patients in the control group. The cerebroplacental (CPR) ratio and the CPUR were calculated. Composite adverse perinatal outcome (CAPO) is defined as the presence of any of the following: (1) Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, (2) Apgar at 5 min <7, and (3) umbilical cord arterial pH <7.10. The relationship of CPR and CPUR with CAPO was investigated. Results: CPR and CPUR were significantly lower in the pregestational diabetes group than in the control group. The NICU admission was higher in the case group. In receiver operating characteristic analyses, the optimal cut‐off value of CPUR was 1.46 (AUC = 0.72, p = 0.003, 80% sensitivity, and 69% specificity) to predict CAPO and the optimal cut‐off value of CPUR was 1.50 for NICU admission (AUC = 0.70, p = 0.013, 77% sensitivity, and 66% specificity). Conclusion: Low CPUR values were found to be associated with adverse perinatal outcomes in women with pregestational diabetes. With the increasing number of studies, CPUR is expected to be utilized more widely in routine obstetric practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of hope in adolescents diagnosed with cancer and examine adolescents' lived experiences of hope. The study was conducted between November 2022 and March 2023. The study used a phenomenological-visual qualitative research design with 20 adolescents in the pediatric oncology ward. The purposive sampling method was used in the study. Data were collected using "Descriptive Characteristic Form," "Semi-structured Interview Form," "Drawing Technique," and "Mutual Storytelling Technique". The adolescents were instructed, "Let us draw our hopes," and asked to draw pictures. Each adolescent was interviewed about the drawings and asked four semistructured questions. Audio recordings of the interviews were made and transcribed. A hermeneutic phenomenological approach was used in the analysis of the data. Two main themes and four subthemes were identified in the study. Metaphorical and conceptual context was included in the theme of symbolizing and linking hope. Two subthemes, facilitators and barriers, were identified in the main theme of rooting hope. The study sheds light on hope experiences in adolescents receiving cancer treatment and guides healthcare professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows have been significantly impacted by environmental regulation (ER). This study is aiming at analyzing the ER effect on the FDI inflows. By using the data of 2008–2018, we use Three‐stages least square (3SLS) method to assess the connection between FDI inflows and ER. The study results reveal that in Chinese industries, technological innovation (TI) is stipulated by the ER, and as a result, FDI has been engrossed. The results further reveal that TI has been enhanced by capital penetration, and a positive effect is perceived between TI and FDI. The findings of our study also show that there is a significant association between foreign capital (FC) inflows and TI, which indicates that technological policies are effective and advanced environmental policies would intensify the relevant policies between firms. Based on the study outcomes, this research proposes some policy suggestions for constructing a attuned policy system of environmental protection and FDI by regulating the implementation of conforming strategies. Background and purpose: In the coming decades, the world will face an increasing burden of neurological disorders (ND) and an urgent need to promote brain health. These challenges contrast with an insufficient neurological workforce in most countries, as well as decreasing numbers of general neurologists and neurologists attracted to work in general neurology (GN). This white paper aims to review the current situation of GN and reflect on its future. Methods: The European Academy of Neurology (EAN) task force (TF) met nine times between November 2021 and June 2023. During the 2023 EAN annual meeting, attendees were asked to answer five questions concerning the future of GN. The document was sent for suggestions and eventually approval to the board and the presidents of the 47 national societies of the EAN. Results: The TF first identified four relevant current and future challenges related to GN: (i) definition, (ii) practice, (iii) education, and (iv) research. The TF then identified seven initiatives to further develop GN at both the academic and community level. Finally, the TF formulated 16 recommendations to promote GN in the future. Conclusions: GN will remain essential in the coming decades to provide rapid, accessible, and comprehensive management of patients with ND that is affordable and cost‐effective. There is also a need for research, education, and other initiatives aiming to facilitate improved working conditions, recognition, and prestige for those pursuing a career in GN. Aim: To investigate the effects of levothyroxine and prednisolone treatment, or in combination, on positive thyroid autoantibodies in infertile patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) therapy. Methods: This retrospective study included a total of 190 patients with positive thyroid autoantibodies (anti‐T and anti‐TPO) who underwent IVF treatment between January 2008 and March 2016. Patients were divided into four groups: group 1—levothyroxine group (n = 50), group 2–prednisolone group (n = 50), group 3–levothyroxine and prednisolone combination (n = 25), group 4—control group (n = 65). Anti‐T and anti‐TPO levels before IVF and at the time of embryo transfer (ET), b‐hcg positivity, clinical and biochemical pregnancy, miscarriage rate, and live birth rate were compared among groups. Results: In levothyroxine‐treated group, mean anti‐TPO levels significantly decreased at the time of ET compared to before IVF treatment levels (p = 0.036). In group 3, mean anti‐T and anti‐TPO levels significantly decreased at the time of ET compared to levels before IVF treatment (p < 0.05). Patients who became pregnant in group 1, mean anti‐T anti‐TPO levels significantly decreased compared to before IVF treatment levels (p < 0.05). The biochemical pregnancy rate was significantly higher in group 2 (p = 0.03). Abortion rates were the highest in group 3, but no significant difference was found among groups. The group treated with levothyroxine had a significantly increased rate of live birth compared to the control group (p = 0.02). Conclusions: Levothyroxine addition during IVF treatment of patients with positive thyroid antibodies in subclinical hypothyroidism increases the take‐home baby pregnancy rate. Whether subclinical hypothyroidism or not in IVF treatment, levothyroxine is more effective than low‐dose corticosteroids. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study intends to assess the underlying mechanism of thriving between organizational inducements (OIs) and health care workers' (HCWs) mental health and work effort based on social exchange theory and the socially embedded model (SEM) of thriving. This study tested a conceptual model regarding the antecedents and outcomes of thriving at work (TW). According to the results of structural equation modelling, both dimensions of OIs predict TW among HCWs. Employees who receive OIs display enhanced levels of thriving, which plays a key role in HCWs' mental health and their work effort. This research adds important insights to the thriving literature by empirically examining its mediating role between workplace resources and HCWs' health and work‐related outcomes.
