Abstract

The article presents an abstract about the research which studies the reduced expression of glutamate and monoamine transporters in brains of rats with acute liver failure. In order to explain the mechanisms responsible, uptake sites for glutamate, serotonin and norepinephrine were measured using quantitative autoradiography in the brain tissue from rats with acute liver failure due to hepatic devascularization resulting.
