Inkjet printing is a versatile and cheap technique for the fabrication of films, offering unique advantages in terms of scalability, precision, and customization. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in utilizing inkjet printing technology for the deposition of magnetic films with tailored properties. Cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) stands out due to its exceptional magnetic properties, including high coercivity, saturation magnetization, and excellent chemical stability. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the inkjet printing of cobalt ferrite magnetic films, focusing on the manufacturing process, especially on the different factors that could lead to stable multilayer depositions to achieve high thicknesses: ink solid loading, drop spacing, substrate temperature, and interlayers drying. Finally, the microstructure of the samples is investigated to identify the occurring defects after sintering between 800 and 1000 °C. Introduction Methods Results Conclusions Gliflozins are recommended as first‐line treatment in patients with heart failure and/or cardiovascular comorbidities and are demonstrated to reduce atrial fibrillation (AF) occurrence. However, it is not well known which gliflozin yields the larger cardioprotection in terms of AF occurrence reduction. Hence, we aimed to compare data regarding AF recurrence associated with different gliflozins.An accurate search of online scientific libraries (from inception to June 1, 2023) was performed. Fifty‐nine studies were included in the meta‐analysis involving 108 026 patients, of whom 60 097 received gliflozins and 47 929 received placebo.Gliflozins provided a statistically significant reduction of AF occurrence relative to standard of care therapy in the overall population (relative risks [RR]: 0.8880, 95% CI: [0.8059; 0.9784], p = .0164) and in patients with diabetes and cardiorenal diseases (RR: 0.8352, 95% CI: [0.7219; 0.9663], p = .0155). Dapagliflozin significantly decreased AF occurrence as compared to placebo (0.7259 [0.6337; 0.8316], p < .0001) in the overall population, in patients with diabetes (RR: 0.2482, 95% CI: [0.0682; 0.9033], p = .0345), with diabetes associated with cardiorenal diseases (RR: 0.7192, 95% CI: [0.5679; 0.9110], p = .0063) and in the subanalysis including studies with follow‐up ≥1 year (RR: 0.7792, 95% CI: [0.6508; 0.9330], p = .0066). No significant differences in terms of AF protection were found among different gliflozins.Dapagliflozin use was associated with significant reduction in AF risk as compared to placebo in overall population and patients with diabetes, whereas the use of other gliflozins did not significantly reduce AF occurrence. Background: The mechanism of typical slow‐fast atrioventricular nodal re‐entrant tachycardia (AVNRT) and its anatomical and electrophysiological circuit inside the right atrium (RA) and Koch's Triangle (KT) are not well known. Objective: To identify the potentials of the compact AV node and inferior extensions and to perform accurate mapping of the RA and KT in sinus rhythm (SR) and during AVNRT, to define the tachycardia circuit. Methods: Consecutive patients with typical AVNRT were enrolled in 12 Italian centers and underwent mapping and ablation by means of a basket catheter with small electrode spacing for ultrahigh‐density mapping and a modified signal‐filtering toolset to record the potentials of the AV nodal structures. Results: Forty‐five consecutive cases of successful ablation of typical slow‐fast AVNRT were included. The mean SR cycle length (CL) was 784.1 ± 6 ms and the mean tachycardia CL was 361.2 ± 54 ms. The AV node potential had a significantly shorter duration and higher amplitude in sinus rhythm than during tachycardia (60 ± 40 ms vs. 160 ± 40 ms, p <.001 and 0.3 ± 0.2 mV vs. 0.09 ± 0.12 mV, p <.001, respectively). The nodal potential duration extension was 169.4 ± 31 ms, resulting in a time‐window coverage of 47.6 ± 9%. The recording of AV nodal structure potentials enabled us to obtain 100% coverage of the tachycardia CL during slow‐fast AVNRT. Conclusion: Detailed recording of the potentials of nodal structures is possible by means of multipolar catheters for ultrahigh‐density mapping, allowing 100% of the AVNRT CL to be covered. Aims: The multi‐systemic effects of heart failure (HF) resemble the spread observed during cancer. We propose a new score, named HLM, analogous to the TNM classification used in oncology, to assess the prognosis of HF. HLM refers to H: heart damage, L: lung involvement, and M: systemic multiorgan involvement. The aim was to compare the HLM score to the conventional New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification, American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) stages, and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), to assess the most accurate prognostic tool for HF patients. Methods and results: We performed a multicentre, observational, prospective study of consecutive patients admitted for HF. Heart, lung, and other organ function parameters were collected. Each patient was classified according to the HLM score, NYHA classification, ACC/AHA stages, and LVEF assessed by transthoracic echocardiography. The follow‐up period was 12 months. The primary endpoint was a composite of all‐cause death and rehospitalization due to HF. A total of 1720 patients who completed the 12 month follow‐up period have been enrolled in the study. 520 (30.2%) patients experienced the composite endpoint of all‐cause death and rehospitalization due to HF. 540 (31.4%) patients were female. The mean age of the study population was 70.5 ± 12.9. The mean LVEF at admission was 42.5 ± 13%. Regarding the population distribution across the spectrum of HLM score stages, 373 (21.7%) patients were included in the HLM‐1, 507 (29.5%) in the HLM‐2, 587 (34.1%) in the HLM‐3, and 253 (14.7%) in the HLM‐4. HLM was the most accurate score to predict the primary endpoint at 12 months. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was greater for the HLM score compared with the NYHA classification, ACC/AHA stages, or LVEF, regarding the composite endpoint (HLM = 0.645; NYHA = 0.580; ACC/AHA = 0.589; LVEF = 0.572). The AUC of the HLM score was significantly better compared with the LVEF (P = 0.002), ACC/AHA (P = 0.029), and NYHA (P = 0.009) AUC. Conclusions: The HLM score has a greater prognostic power compared with the NYHA classification, ACC/AHA stages, and LVEF assessed by transthoracic echocardiography in terms of the composite endpoint of all‐cause death and rehospitalization due to HF at 12 months of follow‐up. Background: Data on the treatment of palmoplantar psoriasis (PP) are very limited as these patients are often excluded from clinical trials. Moreover, this form of psoriasis is often resistant to treatment, making its clinical management complex. Methods: Primary endpoint was to evaluate the clinical and demographic characteristics and the drug survival of both biological and non‐biological drugs in a population affected by PP. Secondary endpoint was to highlight any differences between the hyperkeratotic and pustular variant. We analyzed data from 233 psoriasis patients with palmoplantar involvement, with or without chronic plaque psoriasis. We performed a drug‐survival analysis with the aid of Kaplan‐Meier survival and a multivariate analysis to highlight the influence of certain variables on treatment persistence using a Cox regression model. Results: The drug‐survival analysis revealed that biologic drugs compared to non‐biologic drugs are associated with a higher persistence in treatment (59.73 vs. 43.56%); in particular, anti‐IL23 drugs were found to be the drugs with the best drug‐survival overall (67.94% of patients at 60 months are still on these drugs). Furthermore, our multivariate analysis shows that when compared with biological drugs, non‐biological drugs are associated with an increased risk of treatment discontinuation (HR = 1.95 [95% CI: 1.41–2.68], P = 0.001). Conclusions: Our study confirms the difficulty of treating PP and shows that biologic drugs are associated with longer persistence in treatment than non‐biologics in both PP's variants, not because of their higher effectiveness but because of their better safety profile. Drawing on the Social Identity Approach principles, we explored the relationship between organizational identification (individual, group, and shared), job satisfaction, and collective actual turnover. We hypothesize that (a) shared identification moderates the within‐person relationship between individual organizational identification and job satisfaction, namely, the effect is stronger for groups in which the level of shared organizational identification is higher; (b) group job satisfaction mediates the relationship between group organizational identification and collective actual turnover. This study was conducted in a large Italian firm (N = 1090; sale locations = 91). Data were collected using both surveys (e.g., job satisfaction) and archive data (collective actual turnover). By means of Bayesian Multilevel Structural Equation Models, we supported the moderating role played by shared organizational identification in the relationship between individual organizational identification and job satisfaction, while no evidence was found for the mediational hypothesis. Background: Methotrexate (MTX) is a systemic therapy largely used for moderate‐severe psoriasis. There is a lack of data on its use in daily practice and particularly on its long‐term effectiveness and survival in psoriasis. Methods: We performed a single‐centered, retrospective, observational study to evaluate the drug survival of MTX in patients with psoriasis, treated in monotherapy with MTX between March 2015 and March 2022. Clinical and demographic characteristics were extracted from files of the patients. The drug survival was analyzed using Kaplan‐Meier survival curves, considering separately overall discontinuation, discontinuation due to MTX ineffectiveness, and discontinuation due to adverse events. Multivariable Cox regression analyses were carried out including clinically meaningful variables. Results: A total of 199 patients were included; 148 (74.4%) suspended MTX during the observation period. The reasons for discontinuation were adverse events (39.2%), ineffectiveness (38.5%), remission of psoriasis (12.2%), and other reasons (10.1%). Average duration of therapy was 10.1 months. Patients who remained on therapy after 1, 2, and 5 years of treatment were respectively 46.9, 35.6, and 29.3%. Positive predictive factors for therapy continuation were increasing age and the use of >15 mg of MTX for a period >3 months; the only negative predictive factor was the clinical variant of palmoplantar pustular. Conclusions: MTX is a valuable, cost‐effective option for long‐term treatment of psoriasis although drug survival is not comparable with that of biological treatments. Studies are needed to better understand the best dosing regimen to use, with the aim of achieving the best clinical outcomes and the lowest rate of side effects with this drug. Background: Catheter ablation of papillary muscle ventricular arrhythmias (PM‐VAs) has been associated with unsatisfactory results. Features that may affect acute and long‐term procedural outcomes are not well established. Objective: To systematically review the available data in the literature assessing efficacy and safety of PM‐VAs catheter ablation. Methods: An online search of PubMed, Cochrane Registry, Web of Science, Scopus and EMBASE libraries (from inception to March 1, 2021) was performed, in addition to manual screening. Twenty‐one observational noncontrolled case‐series were considered eligible for the systematic review, including 536 patients. Results: Postero‐medial PM harbored 60.8% of PM‐VAs, while antero‐lateral PM and right ventricular PMs 34.9% and 4.3% of cases, respectively. The mean acute success rate of the index ablation procedure was 88.1% (95% CI 82.8% to 91.9%, p <.001, I2 0%). After a mean follow‐up period of 15.5 ± 17.4 months, pooled long‐term arrhythmia‐free rate was 69.2%, while the pooled long‐term success rate after multiple ablation procedure was 84.9%. Overall, procedure complications occurred in nine patients (1.7%) and no procedure‐related deaths were reported. The use of intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) as well as contact force sensing (CFS) and irrigated catheters during ablation was associated with higher rates of arrhythmia‐freedom at long‐term follow‐up. Conclusions: Catheter ablation is an effective and safe strategy for PM‐VAs, with an acute success rate of 88.1%, a long‐term success rate of 69.2%, with a relatively low procedural complication rate. The use of ICE, irrigated catheters and catheters with CFS capability was associated with higher rates of arrhythmia‐freedom at long‐term follow‐up. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Noncompaction cardiomyopathy (NCCM) is a rare condition characterized by prominent trabeculae, deep intertrabecular recesses, and a left ventricular myocardium with a two‐layered structure, characterized by a spongy endocardial layer and a thinner and compacted epicardial one. NCCM can be isolated or associated with other congenital heart diseases and complex syndromes involving neuromuscular disorders and facial dysmorphisms. To date, more than 40 genes coding for sarcomeric, cytoskeletal, ion channels, and desmosomal proteins have been identified. Clinical presentation is also highly variable, ranging from no symptoms to end‐stage heart failure (HF), lethal arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, or thromboembolic events. In particular, the prevalence of thromboembolism in NCCM patients appears to be higher than that of a similar, age‐matched population without NCCM. Thromboembolism has a multifactorial aetiology, which is linked to genetic, as well as traditional cardiovascular risk factors. In previous studies, atrial fibrillation (AF) was observed in approximately 25–30% of adult NCCM patients and embolism had a cardiac source in ~63–69% of cases; therefore, AF represents a strong predictor of adverse events, especially if associated to HF and neuromuscular disorders. Left ventricular dysfunction is another risk factor for thromboembolism, as a result of blood stagnation and local myocardial injury. Moreover, it is not completely clarified if the presence of deep intertrabecular recesses causing stagnant blood flow can constitute per se a thrombogenic substrate even in absence of ventricular dysfunction. For the clinical management of NCCM patients, an appropriate stratification of the thromboembolic risk is of utmost importance for a timely initiation of anticoagulant therapy. The aim of the present study is to review the available literature on NCCM with particular attention on thromboembolic risk stratification and prevention and the current evidence for oral anticoagulation therapy. Applicants' self‐cognitions toward selection procedures are decisive to produce favorable outcomes. Drawing upon the career self‐management model, this study explored the impact of performance feedback after a simulated employment interview on interview self‐efficacy (ISE) and outcome expectations. Participants (a sample of recent graduates; N = 240) were given timely feedback after the simulated interview with suggestions to improve their performance. The interviewer's feedback was positively related to participants' ISE measured after the feedback. A significant relationship between participants' ISE and outcome expectations emerged. Feedback was related to outcome expectations only indirectly, via ISE. This study contributes to existing knowledge about ISE and provides practitioners with hints to help job seekers to master job search in troubled times. Many companies recruit employees from different parts of the globe, and faking behavior by potential employees is a ubiquitous phenomenon. It seems that applicants from some countries are more prone to faking compared to others, but the reasons for these differences are largely unexplored. This study relates country‐level economic variables to faking behavior in hiring processes. In a cross‐national study across 20 countries, participants (N = 3,839) reported their faking behavior in their last job interview. This study used the random response technique (RRT) to ensure participants' anonymity and to foster honest answers regarding faking behavior. Results indicate that general economic indicators (gross domestic product per capita [GDP] and unemployment rate) show negligible correlations with faking across the countries, whereas economic inequality is positively related to the extent of applicant faking to a substantial extent. These findings imply that people are sensitive to inequality within countries and that inequality relates to faking, because inequality might actuate other psychological processes (e.g., envy) which in turn increase the probability for unethical behavior in many forms. Background: During the COVID‐19 pandemic in‐person visits for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices should be replaced by remote monitoring (RM), in order to prevent viral transmission. A direct home‐delivery service of the RM communicator has been implemented at 49 Italian arrhythmia centers. Methods: According to individual patient preference or the organizational decision of the center, patients were assigned to the home‐delivery group or the standard in‐clinic delivery group. In the former case, patients received telephone training on the activation process and use of the communicator. In June 2020, the centers were asked to reply to an ad hoc questionnaire to describe and evaluate their experience in the previous 3 months. Results: RM was activated in 1324 patients: 821 (62%) received the communicator at home and the communicator was activated remotely. Activation required one additional call in 49% of cases, and the median time needed to complete the activation process was 15 min [25th‐75th percentile: 10–20]. 753 (92%) patients were able to complete the correct activation of the system. At the time when the questionnaire was completed, 743 (90%) communicators were regularly transmitting data. The service was generally deemed useful (96% of respondents) in facilitating the activation of RM during the COVID‐19 pandemic and possibly beyond. Conclusions: Home delivery of the communicator proved to be a successful approach to system activation, and received positive feedback from clinicians. Introduction: Data on the mechanisms of atrial arrhythmias (AAs) and outcomes of catheter ablation (CA) in lung transplantation (LT) patients are insufficient. We evaluated the electrophysiologic features and outcomes of CA of AAs in LT patients. Methods and Results: We conducted a retrospective study of all the LT patients who underwent CA for AAs at our institution between 2004 and 2019. A total of 15 patients (43% males, age: 61 ± 10 years) with a history of LT (60% bilateral and 40% unilateral) were identified. All patients had documented organized AA on surface electrocardiogram and seven patients also had atrial fibrillation (AF; 47% with >1 clinical arrhythmia). At electrophysiological study, 19 organized AAs were documented (48% focal and 52% macro‐re‐entrant). Focal atrial tachycardias/flutters were targeted along the pulmonary vein (PV) anastomotic site at the left inferior PV (n = 2), ridge and carina of the left superior PV (n = 2), left atrium (LA) posterior wall (n = 3), LA roof (n = 1), and tricuspid annulus (n = 1). Macro‐re‐entrant AAs included cavotricuspid isthmus‐dependent flutter (n = 2), incisional LA flutter (n = 4), LA roof‐dependent flutter (n = 1), and mitral annular flutter (n = 3). In patients with LA mapping (n = 13), PV reconnection on the side of the LT was found in six patients (40%, all with clinically documented AF), with a mean of 2.1 ± 0.9 PVs reconnected per patient. Patients with AF underwent successful PV isolation. After a median follow‐up of 19 months (range: 6–86 months), 75% of patients remained free from recurrent AAs. No procedural major complications occurred. Conclusion: In patients with prior LT, recurrent AAs are typically associated with substrate surrounding the surgical anastomotic lines and/or chronically reconnected PVs. Introduction: Remote monitoring (RM) has significantly transformed the standard of care for patients with cardiac electronic implantable devices. It provides easy access to valuable information, such as arrhythmic events, acute decompensation manifestations and device‐related issues, without the need of in‐person visits. Methods: Starting March 1st, 332 patients were introduced to an RM program during the Italian lockdown to limit the risk of in‐hospital exposure to severe acute respiratory syndrome‐coronavirus‐2. Patients were categorized into two groups based on the modality of RM delivery (home [n = 229] vs. office [n = 103] delivered). The study aimed at assessing the efficacy of the new follow‐up protocol, assessed as mean RM activation time (AT), and the need for technical support. In addition, patients' acceptance and anxiety status were quantified via the Home Monitoring Acceptance and Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7‐item scale. Results: AT time was less than 48 h in 93% of patients and 7% of them required further technical support. Despite a higher number of trans‐telephonic technical support in the home‐delivered RM group, mean AT was similar between groups (1.33 ± 0.83 days in home‐delivered vs 1.28 ± 0.81 days in office‐delivered patients; p =.60). A total of 28 (2.5%) urgent/emergent in‐person examinations were required. A high degree of patient satisfaction was reached in both groups whereas anxiety status was higher in the office‐delivered group. Conclusions: The adoption of RM resulted in high patient satisfaction, regardless of the modality of modem delivery; nonetheless, in‐office modem delivery was associated with a higher prevalence of anxiety symptoms. Although there has been growing attention to clients' expectations of career counseling, more research is necessary to clarify the role of these expectations in shaping client satisfaction at the end of the intervention. On the basis of expectation confirmation theory, this study examined the indirect effect of clients' initial expectations on overall satisfaction through the perceived performance and final confirmation of expectations. We also explored whether this indirect effect is dependent on counselors' initial expectations. Longitudinal data were collected on 83 counselor‐client dyads involved in a career counseling intervention in northeast Italy. Results confirmed that clients' initial expectations predicted overall satisfaction with the intervention through the subsequent mediation of perceived performance and confirmation of clients' expectations. The moderating role of the counselors' initial expectations was not confirmed. These findings imply that career counselors should invest their efforts in managing clients' expectations. Regional innovation policies often encourage the formation of R&D consortia between co‐localised small‐ and medium‐ sized firms (SMEs) and large companies, universities or other agents. We investigate the benefits in terms of labour productivity arising for SMEs from alternative configurations of such consortia. We focus on an Italian regional policy. Using a hierarchical Bayesian approach for inference, we find that consortia work better when they are vertical rather than horizontal, and when they match SMEs to large firms. The study investigated the role of self-efficacy (general and task-specific) and justice perceptions in determining the expectations of success in personnel selection procedures. We hypothesized that personnel selection self-efficacy mediated the relationship between general self-efficacy and outcome expectations, and that justice perceptions moderated these relationships. Our sample consisted of 206 respondents who had just graduated or were about to graduate and had previous experience in selection procedures. The moderated mediation model indicated that personnel selection self-efficacy mediated the relationship between general self-efficacy and outcome expectations, but only in the case of high justice perceptions, whereas general self-efficacy had a direct effect on outcome expectations only in the case of low justice perceptions. Problem: A significant increased expression/activation of one of the most well‐characterized inflammasomes, the NAcht leucine‐rich‐repeat protein‐3 (NALP‐3), in the endometrium from idiopathic recurrent pregnancy loss women (RPL) has been previously found by our research group. We therefore, suggested this event as being one of the molecular mechanisms altering endometrial inflammatory status during early pregnancy. In the present research, we attempt to investigate whether molecules with anti‐inflammatory activity, alpha‐lipoic acid (ALA), and/or myoinositol affect the endometrial NALP‐3 expression and activation. Method of study: Women with a history of idiopathic RPL (n = 30) were included in the study and compared to a control group (n = 15). Endometrial tissues were collected by hysteroscopy during the mid‐luteal phase. RPL women underwent a three‐month prescription of tablets containing ALA plus myoinositol (Sinopol®). After treatment, hysteroscopic biopsies were repeated in RPL patients. Inflammasome expression was evaluated by immunohistochemical and Western blot analysis. NALP‐3 activation was studied by quantifying the secretion of both caspase‐1 and interleukin (IL)‐1ß and IL‐18 through ELISA. In ex vivo experiments, the effects of each molecule on endometrial inflammasome were studied. Results: Sinopol® significantly reduced the RPL endometrial inflammasome expression and activation. ALA, but not myoinositol, significantly reduced the endometrial inflammasome expression and activity. Conclusion: Our data suggest a role for ALA on RPL inflammasome. Understanding the mechanisms involved in RPL and the observation that specific molecules are able to interfere with such complex at the endometrium might provide new rational design approaches to a personalized evaluation of endometrial status and, ultimately, a targeted medicine. Several new biologic agents targeting IL23/Th17 axis, such as risankizumab, have been developed for the treatment of psoriasis. The aim of the present study was to analyze the efficacy and safety of risankizumab in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis over a 52-week period. A multicentric retrospective study was conducted in patients who initiated risankizumab between July 2019 and December 2020. Psoriasis Area and Severity Index-PASI was measured at baseline and after 4, 16, 28 and 52 weeks. Clinical responses were evaluated by PASI75, PASI90 and PASI100 at the same timepoints. Potential safety issues and adverse events (AEs) were collected. Univariable and multivariable logistic regressions were performed for variables predicting clinical response. One hundred and twelve patients with psoriasis were included. PASI90 response was achieved by 17.86% of patients at week 4, 72.22% at week 16, 91.0% at week 28 and 95.24% at week 52 (as observed analysis). No associations between the considered variables and the efficacy endpoints were retrieved, influence of variables such as Body Mass Index (BMI), baseline PASI or previous biologics were not shown. No serious safety issues or discontinuations related to adverse events were reported.
