This paper addresses the problem of event‐triggered‐based secure adaptive neural‐networked (NN) consensus tracking control for a class of switched nonlinear multi‐agent systems (MASs) with unknown control directions under network attacks. In order to mitigate the effects of sensor and actuator attacks, a new event‐triggered‐based secure adaptive NN consensus tracking control protocol is proposed by exploring backstepping and the average dwell time method and the Nussbaum gain technique. In addition, if the switching happens between any two consecutive triggering instants, then asynchronous switching between subsystems of each follower and candidate controllers of subsystems will arise. Without any strict limitation on maximum asynchronous time, the asynchronous switching is handled by constructing a novel switching event‐triggered mechanism (ETM) and event‐triggered‐based adaptive NN controllers of subsystems for each follower. Meanwhile, the protocol proposed can guarantee that consensus tracking errors converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. Also, a strictly positive lower bound on inter‐event time is guaranteed. First‐principles calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) are used to investigate the phase transition characteristics, electronic structures, and optical properties of pure and Co‐doped VO2 (M1 and R phase). Studies show that the metal‐to‐insulator phase transition temperature of VO2 is significantly reduced after Co doping, which is correlated to the decrease of bandgap value. Besides, the decrease of the energy required for electron transition of M1‐phase Co‐doped VO2 corresponds to the imaginary part of the dielectric peak moving to the low‐energy region. For both the M1‐ and R‐phase VO2, the visible light transmissivity of the Co‐doped VO2 is increased than that of pure VO2, which is beneficial to the application of VO2 film as visible windows. In addition, the absorptivity and reflectivity of Co‐doped R‐phase VO2 in the infrared light range are larger than those of M1‐phase VO2, indicating that the Co‐doped VO2 can block more infrared light at higher temperature to fulfill the purpose of lowering temperature. BACKGROUND: Scrophularia ningpoensis is a well‐known medicinal crop. Continuous cropping seriously affects the yield and quality, but little is known about the influence of continuous cropping on metabolic pathways. In this study, the difference in protein abundance between continuous cropping and non‐continuous cropping of S. ningpoensis roots was studied by proteomics, and the molecular mechanism that protects S. ningpoensis against continuous cropping was explored. RESULTS: The results suggested that continuous cropping in S, ningpoensis altered the expression of proteins related to starch and sucrose metabolism, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, pentose phosphate pathway, citric acid cycle, phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, terpenoid backbone biosynthesis, monoterpenoid biosynthesis, sesquiterpenoid and triterpenoid biosynthesis, and steroid biosynthesis. Among these processes, the most affected were phenylpropanoid biosynthesis and starch and sucrose metabolism, which may be important for continuous cropping resistance. CONCLUSION: The effect of continuous cropping on S. ningpoensis was demonstrated at the proteome level in this work, and identified candidate proteins that may cause continuous cropping reactions. Background: This study aimed to determine the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on overall survival (OS) of patients with stage IIIB–IV non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with stage IIIB–IV NSCLC from January 2015 to December 2018 in the Department of Oncology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kaplan–Meier plots, log‐rank tests, and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to describe the effect of T2DM on the OS of patients with stage IIIB–IV NSCLC. Results: This study collected data on 76 patients with NSCLC and T2DM (group A) and 214 NSCLC patients without T2DM (group B). After propensity score matching (PSM) analysis, 74 patients were included in each group. The mean OS of all patients was 17 months (range, 11–31 months). The mean OS of group A was 15 months (range, 8–25 months) and the mean OS of group B was 20 months (range, 14–39 months). The mean OS of group B was longer than group A, and the difference was statistically significant. Univariate analysis of the clinical data showed that T2DM and complications were significantly correlated with the prognosis of patients with stage IIIB‐IV NSCLC (p = 0.003 and p = 0.034). Multivariate Cox model analysis showed that T2DM and complications were independent prognostic factors for patients with stage IIIB–IV NSCLC (p = 0.002 and p = 0.024, respectively). Conclusion: Stage IIIB–IV NSCLC patients without T2DM have an increased OS compared to patients with stage IIIB–IV NSCLE and T2DM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: To explore the influence of nine healthy lifestyle factors on the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults in Guizhou, China. Methods: Data were obtained from a large population‐based prospective cohort study in Guizhou Province, China. A total of 7,319 participants aged ≥18 years without diabetes at baseline were included in this study and were followed up from 2016 to 2020. A healthy lifestyle score was calculated based on the number of healthy lifestyle factors. Results: During an average of 7.1 person‐years of follow‐up, 764 participants were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Compared with those of participants who scored 0–3 for a healthy lifestyle, the hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) of those who scored 4, 5, 6, and ≥7 were 0.676 (0.523–0.874), 0.599 (0.464–0.773), 0.512 (0.390–0.673), and 0.393 (0.282–0.550), respectively, showing a gradual downward trend (P for trend <0.01). More importantly, they had lower fasting and 2 h post‐load plasma glucose levels and fewer changes in plasma glucose levels during follow‐up. If ≥7 healthy lifestyle factors were maintained, 33.8% of incident diabetes cases could have been prevented. Never smoking was the strongest protective factor against type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusions: A healthy lifestyle can effectively decrease plasma glucose levels and reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults in Guizhou, China. Nowadays, electronic devices are taking over the market and touch panel is a necessary part, among which capacitive touch panel has greater development potential and development space because of its high transparency, multitouch support and low cost. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a technology with the goal of reconstructing tissue image with impedance distribution, which can realize the goal of accurate measurement and maintaining the original characteristics of the medium to the greatest extent at the same time. In this paper, we use EIT‐based approach to achieve a large area touch perception imaging system with high light transmittance, which is to obtain the distribution of the permittivity of the touch penal by just detecting the impedance of the electrode scattered around the panel. We use Sensitivity theory to solve the mapping problem between the permittivity distribution and the signal collected by the electrode in the EIT problem. Besides, we innovatively combine LBP with Landweber algorithm to achieve high precision and fast imaging of touch area, which greatly reduces the discomfort caused by inverse problem in EIT method. SHJHhr mice line is rhino‐like mice with a nonsense Hairless (Hr) mutant, which shows the characteristic of shedding hair and wrinkled skin with increasing age. Through histological analysis and aging indexes detection, SHJHhr mice show an increased thickness skin with degraded hair follicle and dermal cysts and disorganized collagen fibres, as well as decreased level of Hyp. Meanwhile, the aging markers p16 and p21 are significantly higher in SHJHhr mouse skin than ICR mouse skin at same age. Moreover, the data of MDA and SOD show a higher oxidative stress in SHJHhr mouse skin, and the levels of Nrf2 and its targets are significantly downregulated, which suggests SHJHhr mice have a faster aging skin and its reason maybe poor antioxidative protection. This paper proposes the vendor‐managed inventory (VMI) decision model that considers strategic customer behavior. Decision differences between the Stackelberg game equilibria and the supply chain (SC) coordination are compared under the VMI mode. A comparison of the optimal decisions under the VMI mode and the retailer‐managed inventory (RMI) mode is made. The SC members' preferences for the two inventory modes are obtained under different wholesale price conditions. Then, the option contract is introduced to coordinate the SC, and possible allocation schemes of the coordinated expected profit between the SC members are discussed. Through a reasonable design of the option contract, a Pareto improvement can be achieved with the SC being coordinated. All of our findings are illustrated using numerical examples. As the potential risk of radiation exposure is increasing, radioprotectors studies are gaining importance. In this study, novel hybrid compounds containing edaravone analogue and 3‐n‐butylphthalide ring‐opening derivatives were synthesized, and their radioprotective effects were evaluated. Among these, compound 10a displayed the highest radioprotective activity in IEC‐6 and HFL‐1 cells. Its oral administration increased the survival rates of irradiated mice and alleviated total body irradiation (TBI)‐induced hematopoietic damage by mitigating myelosuppression and improving hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell frequencies. Furthermore, 10a treatment prevented abdominal irradiation (ABI)‐induced structural damage to the small intestine. Experiment results demonstrated that 10a increased the number of Lgr5+ intestinal stem cells, lysozyme+ Paneth cells and Ki67+ transient amplifying cells, and reduced apoptosis of the intestinal epithelium cells in irradiated mice. Moreover, in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that the radioprotective activity of 10a is associated to the reduction of oxidative stress and the inhibition of DNA damage. Furthermore, compound 10a downregulated the expressions of p53, Bax, caspase‐9 and caspase‐3, and upregulated the expression of Bcl‐2, suggesting that it could prevent irradiation‐induced intestinal damage through the p53‐dependent apoptotic pathway. High expression of suppressors of cytokine signalling (SOCS) has been detected during various viral infections. As a negative feedback regulator, SOCS participates in the regulation of multiple signalling pathways. In this study, to study the related mechanism between SOCS and BDV and to explore the effect of SOCS on IFN pathways in nerve cells, downregulated of SOCS1/3 in oligodendroglial (OL) cells and OL cells persistently infected with BDV (OL/BDV) were constructed with RNA interference technology. An interferon inducer (poly I:C, PIC) and an IFN‐α/β R1 antibody were used as stimulation in the SOCS1/3 low‐expression cell models, qRT‐PCR was used to detect type I IFN and BDV nucleic acid expression, Western blot was used to detect the expression of BDV P40 protein. After BDV acute infection with OL cells which with downregulated SOCS expression, the virus accounting was not detected, and the viral protein expression was lower than that of OL/BDV cells; the OL/BDV cells with downregulated SOCS expression had lower virus nucleic acid and protein expression than OL/BDV cells. Stimulated by IFN‐α/β R1 antibody, the expression of type I interferon in OL/BDV cells decreased, and the content of BDV nucleic acid and protein increased, which was higher than that of OL/BDV cells. From the results, it was concluded that downregulating SOCS1/3 can inhibit the formation of acute BDV infection and virus replication in persistent BDV infection by promoting the expression of IFN‐α/β and that SOCS can be used as a new target for antiviral therapy. Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus on survival of patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: We retrospectively analyzed NSCLC patients who had undergone radical lung cancer surgery from January 2011 to December 2014 in the Anhui Medical University affiliated Anhui Provincial Hospital. Kaplan‐Meier plots, log‐rank tests, and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to describe the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus on the overall survival of patients with NSCLC. Results: A total of 769 patients with NSCLC were enrolled, including 126 in the diabetic mellitus group and 643 in the nondiabetic mellitus group. The one, three, and five‐year survival for patients with and without diabetes mellitus were 86.1% versus 89.6%, 49.5% versus 62.4%, and 33.3% versus 40.6%, respectively. The Cox model showed that type 2 diabetes mellitus was a poor independent prognostic factors for NSCLC patients. In addition, metformin is a good independent prognostic factor for patients with non‐small cell lung cancer with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusions: NSCLC patients without type 2 diabetes mellitus have an increased survival rate compared with those with type 2 diabetes mellitus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Dioscorea species, which contain abundant steroidal saponins, have been used as folk medicines or raw materials to synthesise steroid drugs. Objective: To establish a rapid chemotaxonomic method that will comprehensively resolve confusions about genetic relationships of genus Dioscorea. Methods: A comprehensive strategy using ultra‐high‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time‐of‐flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC‐QTOF‐MS/MS) was firstly proposed to evaluate the chemotaxonomy of 12 species (27 taxa) from China by hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) based on the variations of the identified metabolites. Results: Twenty‐eight secondary metabolites (mainly steroidal saponins) were identified. The MSn fragmentation patterns of DA (a new acetylated steroidal saponin at C‐7 position) were firstly reported. Moreover, eight major steroidal saponins were further quantified simultaneously by UPLC‐QTOF‐MS method. According to HCA results, D. bulbifera L. was distinguished with species of sect. Stenophora Uline for pennogenin‐type steroidal saponins. Dioscorea zingiberensis exhibited far distance from other members of sect. Stenophora Uline for two unique saponins. Dioscorea banzhuana may be reclassified into sect. Stenophora. Dioscoreanipponica subsp. rosthornii and D. collettii var. hypoglauca might be separated from their original subspecies/varieties as new species, respectively. Conclusion: The chemotaxonomic method was successfully applied in the study of genetic relationships of Dioscorea species. This study not only enhanced the understanding of chemical constituents, but also laid basic theoretical foundations for the rational utilisation and chemotaxonomy of genus Dioscorea. Twenty‐eight secondary metabolites were qualified from Dioscorea plants and eight of them were quantified simultaneously by UHPLC‐QTOF‐MS/MS analysis. Chemotaxonomic method was successfully applied to the study of genetic relationships of 12 Dioscorea species based on the distribution of identified constituents. Abstract: The regioselective and enantioselective synthesis of β‐indolyl cyclopentenamides, a versatile chiral building block, by asymmetric addition of indoles to α,β‐unsaturated iminium intermediates has been achieved through chiral anion catalysis. Key to the success of this methodology is the generation of a chiral anion‐paired ketone‐type α,β‐unsaturated iminium intermediate from α‐hydroxy enamides. Preliminary mechanistic studies and DFT calculations are consistent with a mechanism involving multiple, concurrent pathways for isomerization of the initially formed azaallylcation into the key α,β‐unsaturated iminium intermediate, all mediated by the phosphoric acid catalyst. Accurate influent characteristic prediction is vital to maintain the stable performance of wastewater treatment processes. In this work, an associated approach based on the wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) and adaptive network‐based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is proposed to address this issue. In this method, the WPD is first adopted to decompose the historical data of the influent characteristic into wavelet coefficients in different scales. The time sub‐series, which are obtained with a single branch reconstruction of the wavelet coefficients in each scale, are then utilized to build the ANFIS regression model. The predicted sub‐results in each scale are finally summarized into an eventual predicted result. Moreover, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is employed to acquire the optimal parameters of the multi‐scale ANFIS, and chaos theory is utilized to determine the input variables of the multi‐scale ANFIS. The reported approach is investigated by the influent characteristic data, including the chemical oxygen and biochemical oxygen demands from a wastewater treatment plant (WTP) in southwest of China. Two peer models are introduced for a comparison study. The results show that the developed approach has superior performance in terms of the mean absolute error (3.346 and 1.384), mean absolute percentage error (1.804% and 1.800%), root mean square error (3.988 and 1.788), and correlation coefficient (0.960 and 0.964), and can accurately predict the influent characteristic of the WTP. ZnGa2O4 and ZnGa2O4: Mn2+/Eu3+ with uniform nanosphere (diameter about 400 nm) morphology have been synthesized via a facile hydrothermal approach. XRD, Raman spectra, XPS, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, photoluminescence (PL), and cathodoluminescecne (CL) spectra are used to characterize the resulting samples. The controlled experiments indicate the dosage of trisodium citrate and pH values are responsible for shape determination of the ZnGa2O4 products. The possible fast crystallization-dissolution-recrystallization formation mechanism for these nanospheres is presented. Under UV light and low-voltage electron beam excitation, ZnGa2O4, ZnGa2O4: Mn2+ and ZnGa2O4: Eu3+ emit bright blue, green, and red luminescence, respectively. Based on density functional theory calculations from first principles, the green and red emission are caused by the Mn 3d and Eu 4f electronic structures, respectively. Besides, the dependence of the CL intensity on the calcination temperature and electrical conductivity of the samples is presented. The ZnGa2O4: Mn2+ nanospheres have a higher CL intensity than that of bulk samples under the same excitation condition. The realization of three primary colors from a single host material suggests that full color display based on ZnGa2O4 nanospheres might be achievable, showing that these materials have potential applications in lighting and display fields. Multifunctional nanocarriers based on the up-conversion luminescent nanoparticles of NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+ core (UCNPs) and thermo/pH-coupling sensitive polymer poly[( N-isopropylacrylamide)- co-(methacrylic acid)] (P(NIPAm- co-MAA)) gated mesoporous silica shell are reported for cancer theranostics, including fluorescence imaging, and for controlled drug release for therapy. The as-synthesized hybrid nanospheres UCNPs@mSiO2-P(NIPAm- co-MAA) show bright green up-conversion fluorescence under 980 nm laser excitation and the thermo/pH-sensitive polymer is active as a 'valve' to moderate the diffusion of the embedded drugs in-and-out of the pore channels of the silica container. The anticancer drug doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) can be absorbed into UCNPs@mSiO2-P(NIPAm- co-MAA) nanospheres and the composite drug delivery system (DDS) shows a low level of leakage at low temperature/high pH values but significantly enhanced release at higher temperature/lower pH values, exhibiting an apparent thermo/pH controlled 'on-off' drug release pattern. The as-prepared UCNPs@mSiO2-P(NIPAm- co-MAA) hybrid nanospheres can be used as bioimaging agents and biomonitors to track the extent of drug release. Ce3+-, Tb3+-, and Mn2+-activated Ca9MgNa(PO4)7 (CMNP) phosphors have been prepared by a Pechini-type sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and photoluminescence (PL) and cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the samples. The energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ in CMNP phosphors has been demonstrated to be a resonant type by a dipole-quadrupole mechanism, and the Ce3+ to Tb3+ critical distances ( RC) calculated by the concentration-quenching method and the spectral-overlap method are 12.21 and 12.11 Å, respectively. A color-tunable emission in CMNP phosphors can be realized by Ce3+→Tb3+ or Ce3+→Mn2+ energy transfer. White cathodoluminescence has been realized in a single-phase Ca9MgNa(PO4)7 host by codoping with Ce3+, Tb3+, and Mn2+ for the first time with International Commission on Illumination (CIE) chromaticity coordinates (0.319, 0.327). Furthermore, the cathodoluminescence (CL) properties of CMNP:Ce3+/Tb3+/Mn2+ phosphors, including the dependence of the CL intensity on accelerating voltage and filament current, the decay behavior of CL intensity under electron bombardment, and the stability of the CIE chromaticity coordinates, have been investigated in detail. To boost the electrocatalytic activity of metal nanoparticles, it is important to rationally design the composition and surface atomic structure, and develop efficient synthesis protocols. Herein, a facile one‐pot self‐templated method for preparing PtPdAg hollow nanodendrites (HNDs) is deployed. These HNDs possess rich atomic steps and grain boundaries, leading to evidently higher catalytic activity in methanol electrooxidation reaction than commercial Pt black and solid particles with smooth surfaces. From control experiments and density functional theory calculations, it is proven that the tri‐metallic HND has a stronger electronic coupling as compared with the PtPd and PtAg nanoparticles. As a result, the PtPdAg HNDs show high anti‐poison capability and catalytic activity for methanol oxidation reaction. Polymer P(VDF‐TrFE) has been extensively applied in modern flexible electronics, such as nanogenerators and pressure sensors. In this study, a repolarization method is proposed to exploit the piezoelectric properties of the P(VDF‐TrFE) electrospinning film modified by the reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Then, the repolarized composite film is applied as the self‐powered flexible pressure sensor. Notably, the piezoelectric output voltage and current of the repolarized composite film are up to 1.5 V and 0.125 µA, respectively. Typically, the piezoelectric voltage of the composite film is three times as high as that of the pure spinning film. Meanwhile, this composite film also exhibits piezoresistive effect, which is ascribed to the 3D network structure of the electrospun nanofibers. In addition, the highest piezoresistive sensitivity of the pressure sensor is 0.072 kPa−1. To sum up, the pressure sensor fabricated in this study allows to simultaneously detect the static and dynamic pressure loads, which thereby has great application potentials in electronic skins (e‐skins) for human motion monitoring, such as motion state and finger bending. Lin, and co‐workers report the synthesis of a multifunctional nanocomposite as an anticancer drug carrier based on a NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+ core and mesoporous silica shell with thermo/pH‐coupled sensitive polymer brushes grafted onto the silica surface as gate molecules. The particles can be used as fluorescent upconverters for cell imaging, and the drug release property can be promoted either by decreasing the pH to match the acidic tumor environment or by NIR laser irradiation.
