BACKGROUND: Potentilla anserina L. is rich in various nutrients, active ingredients and unique flavor, comprising a natural nutrition and health food. However, its application in aquatic food has been rarely reported. Therefore, the effects of Potentilla anserina L. powder (PAP) on gel properties and volatile flavor profile of silver carp surimi were investigated. RESULTS: The gel strength and water‐holding capacity of the surimi gels were significantly improved (P < 0.05), and the whiteness and cooking loss of all the samples decreased slightly with the increase in PAP content. The addition of PAP shortened the relaxation time (T2) of the surimi gels and converted some of the free water into immobile or bound water, which resulted in a better immobilization of water in the surimi. Scanning electron microscopy images demonstrated that the network of surimi gels with PAP added was denser and had a smoother surface compared to the control. Volatile components (VCs) analysis showed that 33 VCs were identified in the surimi gel samples with different additions of PAP, among which aldehydes, alcohols and esters were the major VCs, accounting for more than 50% of the VCs in the surimi gels. PAP addition reduced the fishy and rancid flavor compounds in surimi gels, such as 1‐propanol, 1‐octen‐3‐ol, etc., and promoted the production of aldehydes, alcohols, esters and other flavor substances. The size and condition of the peripheral CD4 T cell population determine the capacity of the immune response. Under homeostatic conditions, the size of the peripheral CD4 T cell population is maintained through turnover and survival. However, the underlying mechanisms remain inadequately understood. Here, we observed a significant decrease in the percentage of CD4 T cells in the periphery following the targeted deletion of the Paxbp1 gene in mouse T cells. In the absence of Paxbp1, naïve CD4 T cells displayed reduced surface interleukin‐7 receptor levels and a decreased capacity to respond to survival signals mediated by interleukin‐7. In addition, naïve CD4 T cells deficient in Paxbp1 demonstrated impaired T cell antigen receptor signalling, compromised cell cycle entry, decreased proliferation, and increased apoptosis following stimulation, all of which contributed to the reduction in the number of peripheral CD4 T cells. Based on 3‐(2,4‐dicarboxylphenyl)‐6‐carboxylpyridine ligand (H3dpcp), a lanthanide metal–organic framework with the porous three‐dimensional structure was successfully synthesized, namely, [Eu (dpcp)(H2O)]n (1). The experimental results indicated that complex 1 exhibited stable luminescence in the range of pH = 2–11 in aqueous solution. It is noteworthy that complex 1 could recognize tryptophan (Trp) and trans, trans‐muconic acid (tt‐MA) molecules through the fluorescence quenching effect, and showed high sensitivity, selectivity, recoverability, anti‐interference, and low detection limits for the identification of Trp and tt‐MA in aqueous solution. Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM) is a subtype of HCM characterized by left ventricular outflow tract obstruction resulting from cardiac muscle hypertrophy and anatomic alterations in the mitral valve and apparatus. Mavacamten, a cardiac myosin inhibitor metabolized primarily by CYP2C19 in the liver, is the first and only targeted medication approved for the treatment of symptomatic New York Heart Association (NYHA) class II–III oHCM. Previous pharmacokinetic (PK) results of mavacamten in healthy Caucasian, Japanese, and Asian participants demonstrated that mavacamten exposure was affected by CYP2C19 metabolism status. This open‐label, parallel‐group, phase I trial aimed to determine the PK and safety of mavacamten in healthy Chinese participants with different CYP2C19 genotypes. The primary outcome was to define the PK of mavacamten in healthy Chinese participants; the secondary outcome was to examine safety and tolerability. After a single oral dose of 15 or 25 mg mavacamten in fasted healthy adult Chinese individuals, Cmax was reached within a median Tmax of 0.6–1.5 h, indicating rapid absorption. Inter‐individual variability was moderate, and individuals carrying non‐functional CYP2C19 alleles (*2/*2, *3/*3, or *2/*3) exhibited longer half‐life and increased total exposure. After stratification of CYP2C19 genotypes, total mavacamten exposures were similar among different ethnic groups when compared with prior PK studies. No significant adverse events were observed in this study. Single oral administration of mavacamten at 15 mg was well tolerated across all CYP2C19 genotypes, and 25 mg dose was well tolerated in healthy participants with CYP2C19 genotypes UM/RM/NM. Aims: This study aimed to systematically compare the effectiveness, safety, and costs of different anti‐Parkinson drugs (APDs). Methods: This is a multi‐center study that retrospectively analyzed the data of 8420 outpatients with PD from 2014 to 2019 across 30 tertiary hospitals in China. The effectiveness was evaluated by changes in total dosages of APDs, normalized by levodopa equivalent dose (LED) and presented as ΔLEDs; levodopa equivalent dose cost (LEDc) represented the daily cost of APDs; and newly added diagnostics were represented as APDs‐related adverse events. Results: A total of 384 patients with eligible medical records for three consecutive years were enrolled. Patients treated with carbidopa/levodopa or levodopa/benserazide had significantly lower mean ΔLEDs than other groups (p < 0.01), followed by pramipexole and selegiline. The piribedil group had the highest ΔLEDs, with mean differences of 112.56–355.04 mg compared to other groups (p < 0.01). Meanwhile, LEDc in the levodopa/benserazide, carbidopa/levodopa, and piribedil groups were significantly lower than those in pramipexole or selegiline groups ($0.088–0.135/day for levodopa/benserazide; $0.070–0.126/day for carbidopa/levodopa; $0.112–0.138/day for piribedil; $0.290–0.332/day for pramipexole; $0.229–0.544/day for selegiline; p < 0.01). Patients with piribedil had more adverse events, with an incidence rate of 35.7%, followed by levodopa/benserazide (25.6%), selegiline (23.5%), carbidopa/levodopa (23.3%), and pramipexole (16.4%). Pramipexole showed a lower incidence rate of adverse events than piribedil, including neuropsychiatric symptoms (p = 0.006), headache/dizziness (p = 0.016), and gastrointestinal symptoms (p = 0.031). Conclusions: Carbidopa/levodopa or levodopa/benserazide might exhibit better clinical improvement with less medical cost, while piribedil presented less clinical improvement but a higher risk of headache/dizziness, gastrointestinal, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Lipid metabolism has been considered as a potential therapeutic target in sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity that can potentially affect the learning and memory function in the developmental brain. Recently, triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) is identified as a crucial step in regulating lipid metabolism and associated with the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. Herein, it is reported that quercetin modified Cu2‐xSe (abbreviated as CSPQ) nanoparticles can ameliorate sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity by tuning the microglial lipid metabolism and promoting microglial M2‐like polarization via TREM2 signaling pathway, in which the apolipoprotein E (ApoE), and adenosine triphosphate‐binding cassette transporters (ABCA1 and ABCG1) levels are upregulated. Furthermore, the protective effects of CSPQ nanoparticles against sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity via TREM2 are further demonstrated by the small interfering RNA (siRNA)‐TREM2 transfected BV2 cells, which are obviously not influenced by CSPQ nanoparticles. The cell membrane coated CSPQ (referred as CSPQ@CM) nanoparticles can significantly reduce sevoflurane‐induced learning and memory deficits, improve lipid metabolism dysfunction, and promote the remyelination in the hippocampus of mice. β‐Sitosterol is a natural compound with demonstrated anti‐cancer properties against various cancers. However, its effects on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the underlying mechanisms are not well understood. This study aims to investigate the impact of β‐sitosterol on HCC. In this study, we investigated the effects of β‐sitosterol on HCC tumour growth and metastasis using a xenograft mouse model and a range of molecular analyses, including bioinformatics, real‐time PCR, western blotting, lentivirus transfection, CCK8, scratch and transwell assays. The results found that β‐sitosterol significantly inhibits HepG2 cell proliferation, migration and invasion both in vitro and in vivo. Bioinformatics analysis identifies forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) as a potential target for β‐sitosterol in HCC treatment. FOXM1 is upregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines, correlating with poor prognosis in patients. β‐Sitosterol downregulates FOXM1 expression in vitro and in vivo. FOXM1 overexpression mitigates β‐sitosterol's inhibitory effects on HepG2 cells. Additionally, β‐sitosterol suppresses epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) in HepG2 cells, while FOXM1 overexpression promotes EMT. Mechanistically, β‐sitosterol inhibits Wnt/β‐catenin signalling by downregulating FOXM1, regulating target gene transcription related to HepG2 cell proliferation and metastasis. β‐Sitosterol shows promising potential as a therapeutic candidate for inhibiting HCC growth and metastasis through FOXM1 downregulation and Wnt/β‐catenin signalling inhibition. Alpha alumina (α‐Al2O3) are inert materials with outstanding thermal, chemical and mechanical stability. Herein, we fabricate porous single‐crystalline (PSC) α‐Al2O3 monoliths at centimeter scale to endow them with high catalytic activity while maintaining their stability. We reduce PSC α‐Al2O3 monoliths to create oxygen vacancies in lattice and stabilize them by the ordered lattice to construct unsaturated Al−O coordination structures for enhancing the catalytic activity. The generation of oxygen vacancy at 18e wyckoff position contributes to the unsaturated Al−O coordination. As a case study, we demonstrate the outstanding performance with conversion (≈34 %) and selectivity (≈95 %) toward non‐oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene at 700 °C. We achieve the outstanding performance without obvious degradation even after a continuous operation over 1000 hours at 700 °C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This work reports that a low‐temperature thermal calcination strategy was adopted to modulate the electronic structure and attain an abundance of surface‐active sites while maintaining the crystal morphology. All the experiments demonstrate that the new photocatalyst nano MIL‐125(Ti)‐250 obtained by thermal calcination strategy has abundant Ti3+ induced by oxygen vacancies and high specific surface area. This facilitates the adsorption and activation of N2 molecules on the active sites in the photocatalytic nitrogen fixation. The photocatalytic NH3 yield over MIL‐125(Ti)‐250 is enhanced to 156.9 μmol g−1 h−1, over twice higher than that of the parent MIL‐125(Ti) (76.2 μmol g−1 h−1). Combined with density function theory (DFT), it shows that the N2 adsorption pattern on the active sites tends to be from "end‐on" to "side‐on" mode, which is thermodynamically favourable. Moreover, the electrochemical tests demonstrate that the high atomic ratio of Ti3+/Ti4+ can enhance carrier separation, which also promotes the efficiency of photocatalytic N2 fixation. Sepsis‐induced acute kidney injury (SI‐AKI) causes renal dysfunction and has a high mortality rate. Protein arginine methyltransferase‐1 (PRMT1) is a key regulator of renal insufficiency. In the present study, we explored the potential involvement of PRMT1 in SI‐AKI. A murine model of SI‐AKI was induced by cecal ligation and perforation. The expression and localization of PRMT1 and molecules involved in the transforming growth factor (TGF)‐β1/Smad3 and interleukin (IL)‐6/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathways were detected in mouse kidney tissues by western blot analysis, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry. The association of PRMT1 with downstream molecules of the TGF‐β1/Smad3 and IL‐6/STAT3 signaling pathways was further verified in vitro in mouse renal tubular epithelial cells. Cecal ligation and perforation caused epithelial–mesenchymal transition, apoptosis, and inflammation in renal tissues, and this was alleviated by inhibition of PRMT1. Inhibition of PRMT1 in SI‐AKI mice decreased the expression of TGF‐β1 and phosphorylation of Smad3 in the renal cortex, and downregulated the expression of soluble IL‐6R and phosphorylation of STAT3 in the medulla. Knockdown of PRMT1 in mouse renal tubular epithelial cells restricted the expression of Cox‐2, E‐cadherin, Pro‐caspase3, and phosphorylated Smad3 (involved in the TGF‐β1‐mediated signaling pathway), and also blocked IL‐6/soluble IL‐6R, inducing the expression of Cox‐2 and phosphorylated‐STAT3. In conclusion, our findings suggest that inhibition of PRMT1 mitigates SI‐AKI by inactivating the TGF‐β1/Smad3 pathway in the cortex and the IL‐6/STAT3 pathway in the medulla. Cumulative evidence indicates the important role of Nur77 in organ fibrogenesis. However, the role of Nur77 in hepatitis B virus (HBV)‐related liver fibrosis (LF) remains unclear. Cells were transfected with the microRNA mimic miRNA‐506‐3p or inhibitor, and pcDNA3.1‐Nur77 or Nur77 guide RNA. Exosomes were isolated from HBV‐infected HepG2‐sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide cells. The levels of miR‐506‐3p, Nur77, and LF‐related genes and proteins were detected by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and western blot analysis, respectively. The pathology of the liver from HBV‐infected patients was examined using hematoxylin‐eosin and Masson's staining. The expression of Nur77 in liver tissue was determined by immunohistochemistry, and the LF score was assessed using the METAVIR system. The relationship between miR‐506‐3p/Nur77 and LF score was analyzed by correlation analysis. HBV infection downregulated miR‐506‐3p expression and upregulated Nur77 levels in hepatocytes. Exosomes from HBV‐infected hepatocytes also displayed decreased gene expression of miR‐506‐3p and increased expressions of Nur77‐ and LF‐related genes in stellate cells compared with exosomes from hepatocytes with mock infection. These changes were reversed by Nur77 guide RNA. Nur77 expression in liver tissue was strongly correlated with LF, whereas serum miR‐506‐3p was strongly negatively correlated with LF. Exosomes from HBV‐infected hepatocytes activate stellate cells and aggravate LF through the miR‐506‐3p/Nur77 pathway. These exosomes may be the basis of a promising therapeutic strategy. Semiconducting polymers are attractive optical materials in optoelectronic devices and biomedical applications because of their superior optical properties and remarkable versatility. Optical imaging in the second near‐infrared window (NIR‐II) has become increasingly popular owing to the merits of large penetration depth and high signal to noise ratio, leading to a great deal of interest in the exploration and development of optical probes in the NIR‐II region. In this review, recent advances in the development of semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (SPNs) in the NIR‐II region for biomedical imaging and therapeutics are summarized. This review focuses on the design strategies in semiconducting polymers toward enhancing their NIR‐II emission for deep tissue imaging, improving their performance in photoacoustic imaging, utilizing their large absorptivity for photothermal and photodynamic therapy, and a number of comprehensive applications for multifunctional imaging and optical therapeutics. Visibility graph methods allow time series to mine non‐Euclidean spatial features of sequences by using graph neural network algorithms. Unlike the traditional fixed‐rule‐based univariate time series visibility graph methods, a symmetric adaptive visibility graph method is proposed using orthogonal signals, a method applicable to in‐phase and quadrature (I/Q) orthogonal signals for adaptive graph mapping for radio modulated signals in automatic modulation classification tasks. The method directly models the intra‐channel and inter‐channel graph relations of I/Q signals using two different types of convolutional kernels. It captures non‐Euclidean spatial feature information of I/Q signals using a graph neural network combining graph sampling aggregation and graph differentiable pooling as a feature extractor. Extensive experimental results on two benchmark datasets and a simulated dataset containing channel fading show that the proposed Quadrature Signal Symmetric Adaptive Visibility Graph (QSSAVG) method in this paper outperforms the benchmark method in terms of classification accuracy and is also more robust against channel fading and noise variations. Silicon suboxide (SiOx) has attracted widespread interest as Li‐ion battery (LIB) anodes. However, its undesirable electronic conductivity and apparent volume effect during cycling impede its practical applications. Herein, sustainable rice husks (RHs)‐derived SiO2 are chosen as a feedstock to design SiOx/iron–nitrogen co‐doped carbon (Fe–N–C) materials. Using a facile electrospray‐carbonization strategy, SiOx nanoparticles (NPs) are encapsulated in the nitrogen‐doped carbon (N–C) frameworks decorating atomically dispersed iron sites. Systematic characterizations including high‐angle annular dark‐field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF‐STEM) and X‐ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) verify the existence of Fe single atoms and typical coordination environment. Benefiting from its structural and compositional merits, the SiOx/Fe–N–C anode delivers significantly improved discharge capacity of 799.1 mAh g−1, rate capability, and exceptional durability, compared with pure SiO2 and SiOx/N–C, which has been revealed by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Additionally, the electrochemical tests and in situ X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis reveal the oxidation of LixSi phase and the storage mechanism. The synthetic strategy is universal for the design and synthesis of metal single atoms/clusters dispersed N–C frameworks encapsulated SiOx NPs. Preferential oxidation of CO in H2 (PROX) reaction is a promising solution to the on‐board purification of CO‐contaminated H2 fuel for use in next‐generation proton‐exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). However, achieving high CO selectivity, activity and structural stability across the wide temperature window remains a great challenge. Herein, we fabricate centimeter scale interfacial PROX catalysts grown from nanoporous single‐crystalline Pr2O3 and Nd2O3 monoliths with lattice surface‐deposited Pt clusters at nanoscale. We demonstrate complete and selective removal of CO in H2 over an unprecedented wide temperature window (253–403 K). The monoliths are integrated with an operational PEMFC to purify the H2 fuel contaminated with CO (30 ppm) and enable stable power output for >400 h; over two thousand times longer than without. This work demonstrates that the nanoporous single‐crystalline oxide monoliths can simultaneously achieve the stability and overall performance required to realize practically useful PEMFCs. From the point of view of the ecological environment, contaminants such as heavy metal ions or toxic gases have caused harmful impacts on the environment and human health, and overcoming these adverse effects remains a serious and important task. Very recent, highly crystalline porous metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), with tailorable chemistry and excellent chemical stability, have shown promising properties in the field of removing various hazardous pollutants. This review concentrates on the recent progress of MOFs and MOF‐based materials and their exploit in environmental applications, mainly including water treatment and gas storage and separation. Although resistance to poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) has gradually become a major challenge in the maintenance therapy for high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC), there are no universal indicators for resistance monitoring in patients. A key resistance mechanism to PARPi is the restoration of homologous recombination repair (HRR), including BRCA reversion mutations and changes in DNA damage repair proteins. To explore mutation profiles associated with PARPi resistance, we undertook targeted 42‐gene deep sequencing of circulating cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) extracted from HGSOC patients pre‐ and post‐treatment with olaparib maintenance therapy. We found that pathogenic germline mutations in the HRR pathway, including BRCA1/2, were strongly associated with improved clinical outcomes, and newly acquired MRE11A mutations significantly shortened the progression‐free survival (PFS) of patients. Furthermore, dynamic fluctuations of somatic mutation sites in CHEK2:p.K373E and CHEK2:p.R406H can be used for evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of patients. MRE11A:p.K464R might be a vital driving factor of olaparib resistance, as patients with newly acquired MRE11A:p.K464R in post‐treatment cfDNA had significantly shorter PFS than those without it. These findings provide potential noninvasive biomarkers for efficacy evaluation and resistance monitoring of olaparib treatment, and lay the foundation for developing combination treatment after olaparib resistance. Targeting the G2/M checkpoint mediator WEE1 has been explored as a novel treatment strategy in ovarian cancer, but mechanisms underlying its efficacy and resistance remains to be understood. Here, it is demonstrated that the WEE1 inhibitor AZD1775 induces endoplasmic reticulum stress and activates the protein kinase RNA‐like ER kinase (PERK) and inositol‐required enzyme 1α (IRE1α) branches of the unfolded protein response (UPR) in TP53 mutant (mtTP53) ovarian cancer models. This is facilitated through NF‐κB mediated senescence‐associated secretory phenotype. Upon AZD1775 treatment, activated PERK promotes apoptotic signaling via C/EBP‐homologous protein (CHOP), while IRE1α‐induced splicing of XBP1 (XBP1s) maintains cell survival by repressing apoptosis. This leads to an encouraging synergistic antitumor effect of combining AZD1775 and an IRE1α inhibitor MKC8866 in multiple cell lines and preclinical models of ovarian cancers. Taken together, the data reveal an important dual role of the UPR signaling network in mtTP53 ovarian cancer models in response to AZD1775 and suggest that inhibition of the IRE1α‐XBP1s pathway may enhance the efficacy of AZD1775 in the clinics. Hydrogen peroxide is an important reactive oxygen species (ROS) that acts as a significant marker of oxidative stress in certain diseases. Owing to the autofluorescence of biological samples, H2O2 monitoring remains challenging. Here, Si‐CdTe quantum dots (QDs) are prepared as novel ratiometric fluorescent probes prepared for sensitive detection of H2O2 and glucose, the low detection limit of H2O2 and glucose is 79 and 140 nm, respectively. In this article, CdTe QDs are combined with Si QDs to reduce the cytotoxicity of CdTe. The survival rate of HeLa cells remains at 80% after incubation with the Si‐CdTe QDs at a concentration of 500 µg mL−1 for 24 h. Fluorescence extinguishes based on 488 and 514 nm channels are used as internal references to avoid environmental interference and demonstrate selective H2O2 biosensing. In addition, the probe has an excellent colocalization effect in the lysosome under the 514 nm channel, with a maximum Pearson coefficient of 0.96. The advantages of easy preparation, low toxicity, high resistance to photobleaching, and high specificity of the Si‐CdTe QDs probes provide a new and convenient means to monitor and detect changes in the endogenous intracellular H2O2 concentration and to select 514 nm lysosomal colocalization dyes. In this study, we propose a versatile method for synthesizing uniform three‐dimensional (3D) metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides (MXenes)/metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) composites (Ti3C2TX/Cu‐BTC, Ti3C2TX/Fe,Co‐PBA, Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐8, and Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐67) that combine the advantages of MOFs and MXenes to enhance stability and improve conductivity. Subsequently, 3D hollow Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐67/CoV2O6 composites with excellent electron‐ and ion‐transport properties derived from Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐67 were synthesized. The specific capacitance of the Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐67/CoV2O6 electrode was 285.5 F g−1, which is much higher than that of the ZIF‐67 and Ti3C2TX/ZIF‐67 electrode. The delivery of protein into mammalian cells enables the dissection and manipulation of biological processes; however, this potency is challenged by the lack of an efficient protein delivery tool and a means to monitor its intracellular trafficking. Herein, we report that the hierarchical self‐assembly of tetraphenylethylene (TPE)‐featured metal–organic cages (MOCs) and β‐cyclodextrin‐conjugated polyethylenimine can generate fluorescent supramolecular nanoparticles (FSNPs) to deliver protein into neural cells, a cell line that is hard to transfect using conventional strategy. Further, the aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) of TPE enabled the fluorescent monitoring of cytosolic protein release. It is found that FSNPs can deliver and release protein into cytosol for subcellular targeting as fast as 18 h post‐delivery. Moreover, the delivery of molecular chaperone DJ‐1 using FSNPs activates MAPK/ERK signaling of neural cells to protect cells from oxidative stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The most critical factor determining the success of biodegradable bone implants is the host tissue response, which greatly depends on their degradation behaviors. Here, a new magnesium‐based implant, namely magnesium–silicon–calcium (Mg–0.2Si–1.0Ca) alloy, that coordinates its biodegradation along with the bone regenerative process via a self‐assembled, multilayered bone–implant interface is designed. At first, its rapid biocorrosion contributes to a burst release of Mg2+, leading to a pro‐osteogenic immune microenvironment in bone. Meanwhile, with the simultaneous intervention of Ca and Si in the secondary phases of the new alloy, a hierarchical layered calcified matrix is rapidly formed at the degrading interface that favored the subsequent bone mineralization. In contrast, pure Mg or Mg–0.2Si alloy without the development of this interface at the beginning will unavoidably induce detrimental bone loss. Hence, it is believed this biomimicking interface justifies its bioadaptability in which it can modulate its degradation in vivo and accelerate bone mineralization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MXenes have attracted great interests as supercapacitors due to their metallic conductivity, high density, and hydrophilic nature. Herein we report Ti3C2‐Cu/Co hybrids via molten salt etching in which the existence of metal atoms and their interactions with MXene via surficial O atoms were elucidated by XAFS for the first time. The electrochemical investigation of Ti3C2‐Cu electrode demonstrated the pseudocapacitive contribution of Cu and a splendid specific capacitance of 885.0 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 in 1.0 M H2SO4. Symmetric supercapacitor Ti3C2‐Cu//Ti3C2‐Cu was demonstrated with operating voltage of 1.6 V, areal capacitance of 290.5 mF cm−2 at 1 mA cm−2, and stability over 10 000 cycles. It delivered an areal energy density of 103.3 μWh cm−2 at power density of 0.8 mW cm−2, based on which a supercapacitor pouch was fabricated. Hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are porous materials with great potential for biological applications. The self‐assembly of HOFs and biomacromolecules, however, is challenging. We report herein the self‐assembly of nanoscale HOFs (nHOFs) to encapsulate protein for intracellular biocatalysis. The self‐assembly of tetrakis(4‐amidiniumphenyl)methane and azobenzenedicarboxylate can encapsulate protein in situ to form protein@nHOFs under mild conditions. This strategy is applicable to proteins with different surface charge and molecular weight, showing a high protein encapsulation efficiency and minimal effect on protein activity. A cellular delivery study shows that the protein@TA‐HOFs can efficiently enter cells and retain enzyme activity for biochemical catalysis in living cells for neuroprotection. Our strategy paves new avenues for interfacing nHOFs with biological settings and sheds light on expanding nHOFs as a platform for biomacromolecule delivery and disease treatment. The imbalance of Zn2+/Cd2+ in the human body can lead to many serious diseases due to the overuse of antibiotics and deposition in animal products. Developing a functional material for detecting is challenging and in demand. Herein, silicon quantum dots (SiQDs) are designed as a functional platform for the detection of tetracycline and Zn2+/Cd2+. The COOH functionalized SiQDs with the emission wavelength of 450 nm are chelated with Eu(NO3)3 to form SiQDs‐Eu3+ ratio fluorescent probes, which can be used to detect tetracycline (TCs) and Zn2+/Cd2+ by fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) principle sequentially. The fluorescent probe showed good linearity between ion concentration and fluorescence enhancement. The detection limit of TCs and Zn2+/Cd2+ are 0.2 × 10−6 m and 3 × 10−6 m, respectively, when the pH of the solution is 7.4. In addition, the synthesized SiQDs‐Eu3+ exhibited good stability (from 94.9% to 103.1%). The relative standard deviations (RSD, n = 10) of human serum and urine were both less than 3%. To explore the effect and mechanism of SIRT6 on radiosensitivity and tumor progression of non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). qRT‐PCR was performed to detect the expressions of SIRT6 in tumor tissues, adjacent normal tissues and NSCLC cell lines of patients with advanced NSCLC before and after radiotherapy. After overexpression or interference with SIRT6 expression in NSCLC cells, the cells were routinely cultured or transfected for 48 h followed by 4 Gy radiation for 24 h. Then, check the cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis and cell cycle by MTT, wound healing assay and flow cytometry, while detect the expression of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway‐related proteins by Western blot. In addition, the effect of SIRT6 expression on NSCLC tumor growth was analyzed by xenograft tumor assay. SIRT6 showed a low expression in NSCLC tumor tissues and cell lines, while SIRT6 was significantly increased in NSCLC tissues after radiation treatment. Overexpression of SIRT6 in A549 and NCI‐H23 cells inhibited cell proliferation viability, migration ability and promoted apoptosis. By comparison, after radiation treatment, NSCLC cells with high SIRT6 expression had lower ability of proliferation and migration and higher apoptosis rate. Overexpression of SIRT6 evidently down‐regulated the activity of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in NSCLC cells before and after radiation. In addition, H2009 cells exhibited opposite cellular functions after interference with SIRT6 expression. In vivo experiments showed that overexpression of SIRT6 promoted the inhibitory effect of radiation on the growth of NSCLC xenograft tumors in nude mice. The thymus plays an irreplaceable role as a primary lymphoid organ. However, the complicate processes of its development and involution are incompletely understood. Accumulating evidence indicates that non‐coding RNAs play key roles in the regulation of biological development. At present, the studies of the circRNA profiles and of circRNA‐associated competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in the thymus are still scarce. Here, deep‐RNA sequencing was used to study the biological mechanisms underlying the development process (from 2‐week‐old to 6‐week‐old) and the recession process (from 6‐week‐old to 3‐month‐old) of the mouse thymus. It was found that 196 circRNAs, 233 miRNAs and 3807 mRNAs were significantly dysregulated. The circRNA‐associated ceRNA networks were constructed in the mouse thymus, which were mainly involved in early embryonic development and the proliferation and division of T cells. A reaction cascade of aza‐Achmatowicz rearrangement followed by indole nucleophilic cyclization was developed to generate the common indole‐fused azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane core of the macroline family alkaloids. The key to the success of the strategy relies on the careful manipulation of protecting groups and judicious selection of chemoselective furan oxidation conditions. The synthetic utility was further demonstrated on the asymmetric total synthesis of (−)‐alstofolinine A. A reaction cascade of aza‐Achmatowicz rearrangement followed by indole nucleophilic cyclization was developed to generate the indole‐fused azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane ring. Abstract: Spinterface engineering has shown quite important roles in organic spintronics as it can improve spin injection or extraction. In this study, 11,11,12,12‐tetracyanonaptho‐2,6‐quinodimethane (TNAP) is introduced as an interfacial layer for a prototype interface of Fe/TNAP. An element‐specific investigation of the electronic and magnetic structures of Fe/TNAP system by use of near edge X‐Ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) and X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) is reported. Strong hybridization between TNAP and Fe and induced magnetization of N atoms in TNAP molecule are observed. XMCD sum rule analysis demonstrates that the adsorption of TNAP reduces the spin moment of Fe by 12%. In addition, induced magnetization in N K‐edge of TNAP is also found with other commonly used ferromagnets in organic spintronics, such as La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and permalloy, which makes TNAP a very promising molecule for spinterface engineering in organic spintronics. Abstract: The therapeutic outcome of photothermal therapy (PTT) remains impeded by the transparent depth of light. Combining PTT with immunotherapy provides strategies to solve this problem. Regulating metabolism‐related enzymes is a promising strategy to stimulate immune response. Here, a nanosystem (NLG919/IR780 micelles) with the properties of photothermal conversion and regulation of the tryptophan metabolic pathway is used to suppress the growth of the tumor margin beyond effective PTT and promote tumor PTT and immunotherapy. It is revealed that mild heat treatment promotes the growth of the tumor margin beyond effective PTT for the upregulation of heat shock protein (HSP), indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase (IDO), and programmed death‐ligand 1 (PD‐L1). The NLG919/IR780 micelles can effectively inhibit the activity of IDO but do not affect the level of IDO expression. NLG919/IR780 micelles can effectively accumulate in the tumor and can migrate to lymph nodes and the lymphatic system. In vivo antitumor studies reveal that NLG919/IR780 micelles effectively suppress the growth of tumor margin following PTT in primary tumors. NLG919/IR780 micelle‐mediated PTT and IDO inhibition further stimulate the activation of T lymphocytes, inhibiting the growth of distal tumors (abscopal effect). The results demonstrate that the NLG919/IR780 micelles combine PTT and immunotherapy and suppress the tumor margin as well as distal tumor growth post photothermal therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Photoinduced single electron transfer cyclization processes for synthesis of a series of 3‐hydroxy isoindolinone cyclotripeptides containing double pharmacophores (cyclotripeptides and phthalimide moiety) are described to develop novel antitumor cyclopeptide drugs. The results showed that our proposed method could be used to synthesize various isoindolinone cyclotripeptides highly regioselectively at a moderate rate. Moreover, the inhibitory potency toward human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells of the target cyclopeptides and the linear tripeptide precursors were evaluated, and most of the compounds were observed with potent inhibition ability against tumor growth. Specifically, compound 6c was found to inhibit HeLa cells with an IC50 value of 32 μM, which may serve as a potential candidate for drug development. In addition, 3‐hydroxy isoindolinone‐cyclo‐Gly‐Ala‐Pro (6a1) was chosen from the obtained cyclopeptides for the absolute configuration research, and an S configuration of C‐3 was established by experimental electronic circular dichroism with the aid of theoretical calculations. Specific recognition of ultratrace levels of ions in semi-water using super-quicker methods is still a challenge for environmental monitoring. Herein we report a fluorescent and colormetric sensor ( ZH) based on supramolecular self-assembly, whose structure was destroyed by the addition of ultratrace of silver ions. The process promoted either naked eye visible color changes or fluorescence intensity quenched in conjunction with a wide pH range. Systematic studies revealed very high selectivity (0.07 µmol/L) for silver ions, and other common cations, e.g., Hg2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb2+ had nearly no influence on the sensing behavior. This sensor also served as a multiple use of component in sensing materials by addition of I− into the mixture of ZH and Ag+ (about 5 times). What's more, ZH containing filter paper emerged distinct color and fluorescence changes upon exposure to silver (Ag+), which could be used as a portable method to undertake field testing for Ag +. This article presents a wideband dual circularly polarized (CP) array which has two independent beams in orthogonal circular polarizations and the two beams can scan to ±23° individually. The proposed array consists of stacked patches fed by 90° hybrid couplers. To achieve two independent beams, the beam-forming networks (BFNs) for the left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) beam and right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) beam are printed on two separate layers with ground plane between them. This arrangement facilitates the integration of the BFNs and reduces the fabrication complexity. Two prototypes with different beam-scanning angles are fabricated and measured. The measured results confirm that the array achieves good impedance matching, larger than 20 dB isolation and smaller than 3 dB axial ratio (AR) from 27 to 30 GHz when the array scans to ±23°. Due to the independent beam-scanning ability, high isolation between the LHCP and RHCP beams and the wide bandwidth, the proposed array is promising for high data-rate Ka-band satellite communications which utilize polarization diversity. We synthesized a new cyanide ( CN−) chemosensor CX based on a nucleophilic addition reaction prompted by cyanide ion, which could be used for highly selective and sensitive fluorescence turn-on detection of cyanide in aqueous media. The CX showed selective fluorescence recognition for CN−, the miscellaneous competitive anions (F−, Cl−, Br−, I−, AcO−, H2PO4−, HSO4−, ClO4−, S2−, PO43−, CO32− and SCN−) did not lead to any significant interference. The detection limit of the sensor towards CN− is 1.15 × 10−7 mol•L−1. The sensor has been successfully applied to estimate the cyanide ion in seeds of cherries. Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA), also known as hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type IV, features loss of pain sensation, decreased or absent sweating (anhidrosis), recurrent episodes of unexplained fever, self-mutilating behavior, and variable mental retardation. Mutations in neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 1 (NTRK1) have been reported to be associated with CIPA. We identified four novel NTRK1 mutations in six Korean patients from four unrelated families. Of the four mutations, we demonstrated using a splicing assay that IVS14+3A>T causes aberrant splicing of NTRK1 mRNA, leading to introduction of a premature termination codon. An NTRK1 autophosphorylation assay showed that c.1786G>A (p.Asp596Asn) abolished autophosphorylation of NTRK1. In addition, Western blotting showed that c.704C>G (p.Ser235*) and c.2350_2363del (p.Leu784Serfs*79) blunted NTRK1 expression to undetectable levels. The four novel NTRK1 mutations we report here will expand the repertoire of NTRK1 mutations in CIPA patients, and further our understanding of CIPA pathogenesis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Novel fluorescent chemosensor with good selectivity for F− anion was designed and synthesized. The sensor has a bearing on a single functionalized pillar[5]arene and Fe3+ metal complex (PN-Fe), which showed prominent fluorescent response for F− anion over other common anions (Cl−, Br−, I−, AcO−, HSO4−, H2PO4−, ClO4−, CN− and SCN−). These results were evaluated by fluorescent method. The detection limit of PN-Fe to F− was calculated to be 2.50×10−7 mol/L. Ridge reconstruction (RR) method is one of the most commonly used ways for non‐stationary signal reconstruction from time‐frequency representations. However, this method leads to a large reconstruction error when dealing with strongly amplitude‐modulated and frequency‐modulated (AM–FM) signals. To tackle this problem, in this Letter the authors propose a new and powerful reconstruction approach, named high‐order RR, by considering the high‐order derivative information of amplitude and phase of the signal. In particular, an explicit reconstruction formula for second‐order RR is derived. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach in reconstruction accuracy when addressing AM–FM signals, as well as the stability for the selection of window width. ABSTRACT 4-Hydroxythiophenol (HTP) grafted poly(styrene- b-acrylic acid) (PS- b-PAA) block copolymers (BCPs) (PS- b-PAA- g-HTP) was synthesized using the esterification reaction between the carboxyl groups and hydroxyl groups. Self-assembly behavior of the graft copolymer in 1,4-dioxane/water was investigated. Assemblies of different morphologies, porous, and bowl-shaped structures, could be easily prepared. A possible mechanism for the formation of the porous and bowl-shaped structures was discussed. The present study showed a facile method for the preparation of functionalized PS- b-PAA BCPs, which could easily self-assembly into novel structures in aqueous solution.
